Soon, the pups were decked out in brand new Mighty Uniforms while the Viking Teens were now fitted with new and improved Dragon Scale Armor within the armories of the Aircraft and Dragon Carriers.
Sarah had new ranger morphers called Dragon Morphers designed for her Viking friends which had the faceplates of their respective dragons including the Night Fury for Hiccup and Zenna, the Deadly Naddler for Astrid, the Gronckle for Fishlegs, the Monstrous Nightmare for Snotlout, and the Hideous Zippleback for Ruffnut and Tuffnut. Inspired by the Dino Morphers used by the Dino Thunder team, she also designed them to be summoned and used whenever they're in danger so whenever they're not in use, they would be turned into silver bracelets that had sets of eight powerful artifacts called Dragon Gems (also inspired by the Dino Thunder team's Dino Gems) which are created and infused with the spirits of their respective dragons through Imagination Manifestation.
Once they were ready, the little princess presented the Viking Teens with their new morphers and gems and they accepted them, carefully putting the gems and their new Mighty Crystals inside and strapping the morphers to their left wrists.
Sarah nodded as she then advised, "Now, whenever you need to morph, all you have to do is say 'Dragon Thunder, power up!' and activate them. The Morphin Grid will do the rest after that."
"You got it, Sarah," Hiccup replied as they all nodded and stood together, raising their morphers across their chests as he shouted, "Ready!"
"Ready!" the other Viking Teens agreed as they opened their morphers with the push of a button and began their new morph.
"Dragon Thunder, power up! HA!"
Activating their morphers as the mouthpieces closed, Hiccup, Astrid, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Zenna, Snotlout, Fishlegs, and Snotlout flipped and donned their Dragon Scale Armor (which now sported their respective stripes) as they landed, standing as their helmets materialized over their heads.
Compared to their old Mighty Pup Uniforms, the new ones the PAW Patrol and the Dragonstone Patrol are now wearing are similar to the supercharged spandex suits used by the Power Rangers with all of them having helmets and sleeves while their front paws are exposed. The shields of their respective teams acted as the insignias for their Pup Tags and the crystals were inserted into them, making their suits glow from their respective colors (apart from Liberty):
- Liberty's new uniform retained its coral-pink color and blue stripe in the middle of her helmet with the PAW Patrol 'paw' sported on her Pup Tag within glowing coral-blue lines and her new symbol sporting a skyscraper with a red flag on top
- Chase's new uniform retained his trademark blue but with light blue energy lines teeming throughout with his Mighty Pup insignia now being an upgraded 'comet'
- Rubble's new uniform had more armor compared to the uniforms the others wore on account of his new spherical form and it retained his trademark yellow and black coloration but it had more of a rock-like appearance and texture with his new insignia being that of a breaking rock
- Rocky's new uniform also had improved plating to protect him coupled with a helmet with two holes for his ears and he had a gray mask placed over his eyes with his new symbol being a gear that had magnetic waves emitting from it
- Skye's new uniform retained her trademark pink and it had three blades on her helmet while the tuft of fur on her forehead hung from a small gap, new silver shoulder pads and a collar of the same color, and a pink visor in front of her eyes with her new insignia being a pink wing
- Marshall's new uniform retained his fiery red coloration but had glowing energy lines stemming throughout and he had a red mask over his eyes with his insignia being a fireball
- Zuma's new uniform retained his orange, blue, and silver coloration but with edges on his helmet, sleeves, and shoulders with a new water insignia
- And, finally, Cadence's new uniform retained her trademark rainbow coloration but it had elemental symbols for wind, fire, grass, lightning, grass, and earth splattered around it and two pockets for her wings with her new symbol sporting the Spirit of Life himself, Rajhu
With the Dragonstone Patrol, their new uniforms were new power suits of their respective colors but with clear visors and their front paws exposed. They also had black spandex on their undersides and parts of their back legs and their crystals were also stored within their Pup Tags, giving their energy lines their respective colors as well.
Once they were ready, the two teams of super pups stepped out of their respective armories and stood at attention (the Dragonstone Patrol standing next to the new Power Rangers Mighty Knights as they did so) with Hiccup and Chase announcing, "Ready for super action, Ryder, Sir/All powered up, Sarah!"
Nodding to their respective teams, Ryder and Sarah contacted each other as they gave themselves the all-clear, "Ready, Sarah?"
"It's time for super lightspeed."
The two of them pushed a button/flipped a switch and two hatches were raised in their respective cruisers, showing the pups and the Riders of Berk their new Mighty Runners - new and improved versions of the PAW Patrol's old vehicles and new vehicles equipped with the powers of the crystals, created by Ryder, Aurora, and Sarah through Gronckle Iron that made them light for greater maneuverability yet strong as steel:
- Liberty's new Mighty Scooter was a larger and improved version of her old scooter, retaining its coral-pink coloration as well but with new blue and white highlights
- Chase's new Mighty Cop Car was blue and had yellow and white stripes with a wing on its back to give it a new streamlined look
- Rocky's Mighty Recycler had orange and blue highlights contrasting with its green coloration and it had extendable recycler claws that could pull in any metal objects with its magnetic force
- Rubble's new Mighty Bulldozer was more rugged compared to his original rig as it had a large wrecking ball attached to its back arm, large triangular treads, and the roller of a steamroller attached to the front
- the new Mighty Hovercraft belonging to Zuma had glowing supercharged fans that mixed well with its orange and black coloration
- the new Mighty Firefighter for Marshall sported his traditional red and black coloration but it had new gray and white highlights and it is now equipped with two water cannons on both sides and a new extendable ladder
- Skye's new Mighty Jet retained the white and black coloration and pink highlights from her old Sky Jet but is much more advanced compared to her old craft
- And, finally, Cadence's new Mighty Runner: the Warrior Wolf Rider, is modeled after Zacian and Zamazenta being more of a chimera in appearance (the left resembling Zacian and the right resembling Zamazenta)
In addition, all of the new vehicles had their Mighty Pup insignias on either side and/or their hoods.
"Whoa...…!" the entire group gasped in awe and amazement with the PAW Patrol and the Dragonstone Patrol howling in excitement and going to their respective Mighty Runners, preparing them for deployment from their respective carriers.
"Chase, Marshall, prepare for catapult!"
"Ready, Marshall?"
"You bet!"
"Power Paws!" Marshall and Chase bantered eagerly before the latter readied his cruiser's controls with their superpowers running through their runners' systems (their vehicles' stripes streaking in yellow and blue), the middle of Chase's runner splitting apart and deploying a single wheel while the front wheels shifted and attached themselves to the back wheels and a jet engine emerged from the back.
"10….9….8….7….6….5…..4…."
The fire pup howled proudly as he charged up his firefighter and set up its latter, ready for deployment when needed.
"3…..2….1… LAUNCH!"
Then, when ready, the Mighty Firefighter and Mighty Cop Car powered down the runways of the Aircraft Carrier and onto the streets of Adventure City, the PAW Patrol officially back in action as Rocky and Skye prepared themselves for launch soon after.
"Skye, Rocky!"
"Power Paws, activate Mighty Jet!" Skye grinned, activating her runner and charging up its jet engines as it streaked with pink stripes while Rocky activated his Mighty Recycler as it streaked with green stripes.
"GO!"
Then, they were shot down the runways and they went off after Chase and Marshall, leaving only Zuma and Rubble to bring up the rear of their team.
"Zuma, Rubble, ready for launch!"
"Did he say 'Lunch'?" Rubble panted eagerly, getting hungry again.
"No. I said, 'Launch'!"
"RUBBLE!" everybody else cried as they laughed at him, causing the bulldog pup to grumble and pout in annoyance.
"GO!"
With that, the entire PAW Patrol was out and about on the streets of Adventure City with the Dragonstone Patrol and the newly-christened Power Rangers Mighty Knights following behind. Tom and the Rakke Corp's Rakke Town Riders wanted to join them so they left after their friends, their parents staying behind to man the Dragon and Aircraft Carriers and guard the crystal shards they still have on them (on the condition that their children and their dragons will stay out of trouble and make sure to follow Hiccup, Sarah, and Ryder's orders).
Soon, it was time for the Teen Titans (who would either be flying or riding the T-Car and the R-Cycle after the latter two were brought over from Titans Tower in Jump City), Ryder, Sarah, her entire family, and Race were preparing for launch just as Liberty came over to the little princess and hero boy.
"Uh, Ryder... Sarah? As you know, I didn't get any superpowers, unlike the others. So, I'm not totally sure of what to do here."
"We've thought about that, Liberty. And, we've got an important mission for you," Ryder reassured.
Liberty beamed as she quipped, "You do? Yes! That's what I'm talking about! Whatever you need, anything at all, I'm your pup."
Taking a bit of time to disembark Solar (whom she will be riding with in Solar Rider Mode), Sarah went over to Liberty and rubbed her gently as she told her, "Ryder and I need you and Cadence to help hold the fort and keep an eye on the Junior Patrollers and Petunia. While you're at it, you two can start training them to be in the PAW Patrol."
Liberty paled as she looked at the Junior Patrollers and Petunia, the Poms, Buddies, and baby dragon all smiling at her with Nano giving her the biggest smile out of the trainees and Petunia happily giggling and babbling innocently. Cadence just shrugged sheepishly as she looked at her, feeling sorry for her friend yet glad that they could share the burden of babysitting the Junior Patrollers and Petunia with everyone else staying behind.
"Oh, okay... No, nope, Ryder, bad. Bad idea, not a good idea from what I'm getting. I can handle Petunia easily and I'm trying to be more flexible but, really, I don't know the first thing about little kids."
"Neither did I when I met Melvin and his family along with Tommy," Raven (Teen Titan) sympathized, recalling her experience with the Junior Titans leading up to the final battle between her team's old foes and the nemesis of the Doom Patrol, the Brain. "But, in the end, it all worked out and they can handle themselves."
"Oh, Liberty, old girl. It can't be that hard to look after those cuties. Tell you what, the KRS and the Cat Pack will be staying behind with us until they're needed. We'll help you keep them under control and teach them how to be true heroes," Angel chuckled reassuringly as she joined them and petted the Dachshund's head.
"You bet!" Wild nodded as the KRS meowed happily in agreement.
"They're right, darling. We've dealt with them longer than everybody else so we know what they'll do whether by accident or on purpose," Ryan said, smiling.
"You'll be fine, Liberty. When have you ever let me down before? I know babysitting is not as glamorous and exciting but if anything happens to us, you two and everyone else will be the only ones left to take over where we left off. The fate of the world will depend on them someday and you and Cadence will have to lead them into battle. I'm counting on you, we all are," Sarah comforted before she gave Liberty a gentle kiss and boarded Solar.
"You and Cadence are gonna do great, we're sure of it," Ryder agreed warmly as he prepped his new Adventure ATV MK-3 and left. "Mighty Pups are on a Roll!"
"Good luck, Liberty. You too, Cadence. Alright, let's go, everybody! It's Morphin' Time!" Sarah finished as she, her friends (taking control of their runners again), and her family followed Ryder and the pups into Adventure City, leaving Liberty behind with the Poms, the KRS, the Buddies, the Cat Pack, Ryan, Angel, Olivia, Phillip, Angela, May, Carla, and Hazel.
"Ryder, Sarah?! Wait! Come back! I'M NOT BUILT FOR BABYSITTING!" Liberty screamed in dismay while the Poms gathered around her, smiling innocently while Cadence gave her another sheepish smile.
To the tune of Brian Millar's "Down Like That", the current teams of supercharged pups, Ryder, and Power Rangers joined by the Rakke Town Riders and Sarah's family, raced through Adventure City's streets on their runners with the dragons flying through the sky, ready to help anybody in need of them again. Tom and his friends and their dragons, however, were shocked at how big Adventure City was compared to ICARIS in Canada and they didn't know what to make of it.
They proved their heroism time and time again as a caution sign fell over next to a large windowed building and a bucket of water fell amidst a windy day, seeing three bosun chairs holding three window washers rocking back and forth in a dangerous manner and the window washers themselves hanging on for dear life as they screamed for help.
Seeing this, Marshall and Heart drove their Mighty Firefighters to the side of the building complex and swiftly climbed up the ladders, activating them using their new superpowers and raising themselves to where the window washers were and ejecting a safety net from both ladders while Snotlout and Hookfang flew beside them to supervise the operation and give them a hand.
Eventually, the rope on the left side of the bosun chair gave way and the window washers were sent tumbling down until they landed in the safety of Heart and Marshall's nets and Snotlout's arms.
Elsewhere, a mailwoman was dropping off a package for someone on a building that was on a ramp, her mail van parked along the steep road as she made her way to the building in front of her. However, she thought she had it parked as she made her delivery because before she knew it, it started to roll down the steep incline as the brakes weren't put on, prompting her to panic and chase after it. There were a few close calls as some people driving up the ramp managed to avoid it but the same couldn't be said for an elderly man who was taking his dog out for a walk and they were directly in its path.
Seeing the runaway van, the dog and his owner braced themselves but just in the nick of time, Rocky jumped in and saved the pair, lifting the van with his Magnetism as a nearby group of spectators watching the whole thing cheered for him.
Even the heroism of the heroes can be seen in the stopping attempted burglaries of the city's jewelry stores and banks along with muggings and kidnappings with the Power Rangers Mighty Knights taking center stage as they whomped the criminals who are trying to cause trouble for everybody while the Ultra Rescue Rangers kept watch to see if the thugs and criminals would try anything funny behind their successors' backs. All the while, Sarah smiled at Hiccup and the rest of her Viking friends as they were putting the training she had given them to the test with their new powers.
The heroics continued and the PAW Patrol and the Power Rangers were becoming big around Adventure City all over again within the span of a few hours, being the talk of the town as Sam eagerly made his report update, "When we used to hear the word 'Superpowers', people used to think of the big budget Hollywood movie stars and overzealous celebrities wearing tights. But, now, we know superpowers are real, and the fluffy little doggies and hard-knock Vikings in spandex who got 'em called themselves the Mighty Pups and the newest team of Power Rangers called: the Power Rangers Mighty Knights!"
And, their heroism didn't stop; at the same time Sam was making his report, the PAW Patrol and Ryder's old friend, Captain Turbot (who was visiting them from Adventure Bay), was in trouble as his boat, the Flounder, was sinking and he was panicking as he braced himself to be fully capsized. However, it was Skye and Hiccup who came to his rescue as they lifted his boat and flew it over to dry land. The crowd that watched nearby cheered for them and their friends who were standing on or near Marshall's Mighty Firefighter while Captain Turbot looked on in amazement at his friends and joined in the cheers after recognizing Skye.
"They got new powers, new uniforms, and new merchandise!" Sam continued with a bright grin as he reported from the rescue site he was on and put on a Mighty Skye hat. "To all the parents out there, I'm sorry."
The only people, however, who were not happy about the heroes' newfound success and development were five particular criminals brooding angrily over in Adventure City Prison, the most annoyed and furious out of all of them shutting off the TV with a roll of toilet paper and fuming over losing her meteors to the PAW Patrol and the Power Rangers in the form of Victoria.
"Those were my meteors, those should be my superpowers! I can't stand those little mongrels and those meddling kids," Victoria snarled, crossing her arms in absolute disgust.
"Hmph, you think you're the ones who were cheated out of something you yearned for your entire life? Girl, you and your boy got nothing compared to us," seethed Jacob quietly but loud enough for Victoria, Rose, Humdinger, and a silently brooding Cawthrown to hear from his and Rosa's cells.
"How is it that that stinkin', pathetic, piece of shit we once called a son is still alive after we dumped him?" Rosa gritted in silent fury.
"13 years... And, not a trace of that little bastard, we thought he had died after we lumped him in that dumpster fire of a city. But, no, somebody had the nerve to keep him alive and make him like that...!"
"Oh, you mean that boy, Race Konami? The one who's dating that princess right now and is reportedly his new up-and-coming wife?" Humdinger remarked.
"...….What? That little cretin, out there, dating...?"
"Married, wife, PRINCESS?!" Jacob and Rosa spluttered in a rage before the former screamed with rage and punched a wall next to him from his right, startling Humdinger and Victoria and frightening the Kitten Catastrophe Crew as they quickly hid behind the pair.
Jacob continued to seethe as he vowed darkly, "Whoever saved him from our wrath and that princess will pay for this dearly!"
"Hmph, that's nothing. That little malamute in the PAW Patrol's hands is a slippery one at that ever since she came in league with them and the boy and kids you're brooding over. All my powers in that little winged menace, gone, wrenched away in the blink of an eye no thanks to the Power Rangers and those wretched dogs," huffed Cawthrown in response.
"I can't stand the PAW Patrol, their friends, and the Power Rangers Ultra Rescue either. That's what makes us such perfect roommates," Humdinger replied, trying to coax his way onto the good side of his fellow inmates as if he had a plan in mind.
"Yeah, well, don't get too attached, buddy boy. 'Cause as soon as I find my own way out of here, I'm gonna get my meteors back," Victoria scoffed.
"Don't worry, I've anticipated something like my imprisonment for some time. And, I've taken precautions to ensure that my revenge would be fulfilled, yours too now that we know what's going on. I'm certain that my last creation won't fail us in our little...…alliance," Cawthorn replied as a scream was heard followed by a screech.
Silence soon followed before a hybrid creature that was smaller than Zalkia but bigger than Fang barged in; the hybrid was adorned with charcoal black scales and was heavily deformed and grotesque. It had a brachycephalic muzzle, red eyes with slit pupils set high on its skull, a prominent overbite, and jagged uneven teeth coupled with venomous spines on its elbows, tail, neck, opposable thumbs, and grasping talons, and a pair of short spurs growing out of the back of its heel.
Humdinger, Victoria, Rosa, and Jacob were shocked into silence as Cawthorn smirked darkly at the creature just as it approached the mad doctor and bowed to him, showing its allegiance to him.
"What the buzzboy is that?" Victoria blinked quietly, still shocked beyond belief.
Cawthorn chuckled evilly as he petted his creature and told his fellow inmates, "This is what I called the Deadly Prototype; the first creation that led me to develop the Indoraptor the brat and her friends stole from me: the Scorpios Rex. I see you haven't lost sight of where your loyalties lie, my friend. That's good... My pet, give our new allies and Humdinger a demonstration of your terrifying power and wait for us outside."
As this was going on, a cloaked figure wearing a fox mask (akin to Ava's mask from Kingdom Hearts Chi X/Union Cross X/X Back Cover) was watching everything with a suspicious and wary look from within the hallway leading to the villains' cells. They watched as the hybrid screeched in obedience to its master and shredded the bars of the cells holding him and his fellow inmates before it ran off, breaking a window in the process and prompting the figure to hide.
Realizing that this could mean trouble, the cloaked figure quickly looked around and saw Cawthorn, Humdinger, Victoria, Rosa, and Jacob continuing to talk to each other after taking in their unexpected release before they rushed out of the prison, supposedly going somewhere to prepare for what was about to happen.
"Okay, Doc, so you bailed us out of here with your prehistoric scorpion, thank you. It's been great. Now, onto business," Humdinger remarked before he turned to Victoria. "Now, if you want your revenge, I can help you deal with those kids and pups if you promise to share those superpowers with me. You make things crazy for those goody-goodies, we one-up those meddling brats. Do we have a deal?"
"I'll have you know, Hum-Ding, that you've left me and my forces high and dry betraying me when I needed your help last time?" reminded Cawthorn to the disgraced Froggy Bottom mayor, raising an eyebrow and glaring at him as he placed his hands on his hips.
"True, true, but that's in the past. Let's just throw it under the rug as we have a new game in play here. Also, I've seen what the princess can do and by the looks of it, she's learned a few new tricks which would be invaluable to you and your research. It's only a deal if we shake on it, my lady," Humdinger bargained with a grin, putting out his right hand for Victoria to shake and seal their alliance.
Rolling her eyes at Humdinger, Victoria had no choice but to shake his hand with his kittens also extending their paws to her as he added, "We all shake on it."
Victoria was even more annoyed by this but she was forced to relent as she shook the kittens' paws and muttered, "You've gotta be kidding."
Cawthorn crossed his arms and snorted as he left his cell and prepared to sneak out of the prison his way, telling Humdinger, "I haven't forgotten your betrayal, Humdinger. But, you and your squirts are welcome to tag along again just as long as you don't screw up and you quit being as annoying as you were."
"Same goes for me, buddy. If you don't push on my buttons, we're in," Victoria added in agreement as Cawthorn made his way out.
"Deal. Now, for getting out of here discreetly despite Mad Doc's creature making our exit, the kitties and I have been working out our own little jailbreak," Humdinger smirked, going over to the toilet in their shared cell and opening it, allowing Victoria to see an escape tunnel he and the KCC made for their escape through the sewers.
"Well, you're not so stupid, after all," Victoria replied, greatly impressed.
"Why, thank you. It took us a lot of work but it was worth it...…"
Back at the Aircraft Carrier and Dragon Carrier on the port, the Junior Patrollers were watching the newsreels and Sam's report updates, keeping themselves up to date with their friends and their superpowered heroic feats all across the city.
"Yes, folks, they just keep doing it! The Mighty Pups and the Power Rangers Mighty Knights have shown us their amazing superpowers and are using them for the benefit and well-being of mankind! Skye can fly and Chase has Super Speed with Hiccup, the leader of the Mighty Knights Rangers, sharing both abilities! And, Rubble and Fishlegs are turned into real-live wrecking balls!" Sam announced, grinning as he continued his reports.
As they were captivated by their friends' heroics through Sam's reports, Liberty, Cadence, Angel, and Ryan were with Olivia, Angela, Phillip, May, Carla, and Hazel as the group watched over the trainees. Liberty, however, was still itching to figure out what her superpower was as she was slowly getting jealous of Skye, Chase, and the other pups along with the Viking Teens, her owner, and her friends all having powers themselves.
"Okay, no more messing around. My superpower is...fire paws! Nope. Okay, okay, it's... Super Speed!" she brooded, trying to make fire come out of her front paws while on her hindlegs and running around in circles while the Junior Patrollers were still watching the news.
Seeing what Liberty was trying to do and still feeling sorry for her, Cadence went over to the Dachshund and helped her steady herself after she got dizzy trying to mimic Chase's Super Speed.
"Ugh, I think I'm gonna be sick. Thanks," Liberty gulped as she shook the dizzy feeling off of her and Cadence patted her back.
"Come on, Liberty, would you give up copying Chase and the others? Everybody's superpowers are unique and nobody apart from some of our friends can share the same power or amount of powers they have on them. I mean, look at me; I may have the same powers as our friends out there but I have a few others to distinguish myself from them. Instead of following their examples, why not help everyone in your own way?" the Alaskan Malamute pup requested gently, wanting to help Liberty step out of their friends' shadows.
"...Yeah, you're right. What am I doing? Come on, Liberty, be flexible... Be flexible...That's it!" Liberty nodded, eventually getting a brain blast as the pair went to the Junior Patrollers and the adults looked on, smiling at her.
"Adventure City just can't get enough of the newest Power Rangers and these Mighty Pups!" Sam added just before Liberty shut off the TV to get their attention, much to the Poms' dismay.
"HEY!" the Pomeranians whined before Tot moaned at her, "We were watching that!"
Angel chuckled as she went over to join the Poms, Liberty, and Cadence as she told the trio, "Sorry, kiddos. Too much TV can kill ya; besides, it's time for you to get serious."
"Yeah, my girl's got it head-on. Besides, that's the problem; we're all just sitting around watching and being lazy ducks all day. We might not have superpowers of our own but that doesn't mean we can't contribute to the team and the greater cause. I can't believe I'm saying this but are you three puffballs serious about joining the PAW Patrol one day? And, does it apply to you and the Buddies, too, Rose?" Liberty explained, looking between the Buddies and Poms.
"Yes!"
"Absolutely!"
"More than anything in the entire universe!" the Poms from Mini to Nano grinned excitedly.
"Of course."
"We're all in, dudette."
"Yeah, bring it!" Rose, B-Dwag, and Mudbud added with Budderball and Buddha nodding in agreement.
Cadence winked at Liberty as the Dachshund grinned and stated, "Then, if that's what you want, we're going to teach you everything we know and turn you into lean, mean, fluffy little rescue machines!"
"WICKED!" the Poms cheered.
And, so began the Poms and Buddies' training spree to become full-fledged PAW Patrol members. As they were going to start from the ground up, the Junior Patrollers were in gym attire complete with headbands and belt bands instead of their usual collars, hats, and scarves. To begin with, Liberty and Cadence showed the eight trainees how to do push-ups on the Aircraft Carrier's deck, focusing on their triceps, pectoral muscles, and shoulders.
"97!"
"98!"
"99!"
"100!" the pair counted, doing exactly 200 push-ups (100 each) between them while the adults watched from the sidelines.
"Okay, your turn," Cadence said as she looked at the Poms, allowing them to go first.
"...One, ungh!" the Poms grunted together before they fell on their stomachs.
"Eesh," Liberty cringed before she looked at the Buddies and nodded, allowing them to take over.
"The Poms are not off to a running start, are they, Commander?" Olivia asked Ryan, looking concerned at Tot, Mini, and Nano.
"Yes... That's the problem with Pomeranians, Olivia, dear. They, unfortunately, have very small bodies with small muscles to match," Ryan sheepishly admitted.
"That's the Achilles' heel with those little guys, their leg muscles are, uh... Second rate, to put it lightly," agreed Angel, rubbing the back of her head awkwardly.
"Focus, you three. Concentrate on your center of gravity for the best chance of success, namaste," Buddha encouraged as the Poms watched him and the Buddies do their push-ups with little to no problems.
Next, the Junior Patrollers were put to the test in terms of their speed in the carrier's locker room with the Poms on a single treadmill and the Buddies having their own treadmills for their running exercises (Budderball having a pup treat hanging from his treadmill via a stick and string to keep him motivated given his hunger).
"You're running with the big dogs now! No pain, no gain!" Liberty coached the Poms through a small microphone just as Tot tripped as he tried to run faster, causing him to send himself, Nani, and Mini crashing into her as they flung off the treadmill.
The others were surprised as they kept running and Cadence was taken aback as she winced but they all breathed a sigh of relief as the quartet came out of the crash unscathed with Tot giving Liberty a sheepish laugh thanks to the Poms' puffy bodies.
Then, Liberty and Cadence set up a training drill for the Poms and the Buddies, dressing them in tiny firefighter helmets akin to Marshall and Heart's hats (sporting the PAW Patrol shield on them) as they came in front of a fire extinguisher in front of a pair of large metal crates. While the adults stood back to watch their progress, as usual, Liberty pressed a button from a nearby remote to lift the crates and reveal two lit candles. This time, the exercise is simple and requires problem-solving from them; use the fire extinguishers in front of them as a team and put out the candles.
The Buddies went first as they formed a small tower out of themselves akin to the Babel Attack Tower from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger given their greater size compared to the Poms (Budderball, Buddha, and B-Dawg forming the bottom and Rosebud and Mudbud forming the top) with Rosebud and Mudbud pushing down on the handle of their group's fire extinguisher and putting out the candle, much to Cadence's satisfaction as she nodded at them.
"Let's do this!" Nano cheered as the Poms formed a tower as well but with him at the top, Mini in the middle, and Tot at the bottom.
Unfortunately, because they were not very heavy and their combined weight couldn't hold their fire extinguisher back, the Poms ended up becoming victims of Isaac Newton's Third Law of Motion, "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." True to form, when Nano pushed the handle on his, Tot, and Mini's fire extinguisher, they were sent flying back and around the Aircraft Carrier's hanger while they held on to the fire extinguisher for dear life.
"Tot!"
"Mini!"
"Nano!"
"There they go!"
"Somebody grab them!"
"Heads up!"
"Uh, oh!"
"Look out!"
"Bloody hell!"
"Zoinks!" the adults shrieked as they and Liberty ducked to avoid being hit by the runaway fire extinguisher before it ran out of fluid and the Poms promptly crashed onto the floor (making everybody wince), prompting the Dachshund to blow out the remaining candle for them.
As the training session went on, despite several stumbles and falls here and there, the Poms and the Buddies were progressing at an enormous rate and they were performing better than expected. For instance, Cadence and Liberty put the Poms and the Buddies through a rappel session from the Aircraft Carrier's bridge, both deciding to put their climbing and climb-down skills to the test. For the most part, the Poms and the Buddies were doing very well as they rappeled from the bridge with ease, pushing themselves to get to the deck.
"That's it, you guys! Take it nice and slow! Not too fast and don't let your ropes snag too tight! Easy, easy!"
"Come on! Move it, move it! We're gonna get you from pup to tough! Is that all you got? I thought you wanted to be in the PAW Patrol! I want to see you hustle!" Liberty and Cadence coached with the former down on the deck with her microphone at paw and the latter watching from the bridge before the Poms all suddenly fell on top of the Dachshund and the Buddies completed the exercise as they rappeled down completely.
"GO, GO, GO! You're lean, you're mean, you're fluffy little rescue machines!" Liberty continued as the Buddies and the Poms went through another running drill with her just as Ryder and Sarah returned to check up on them and Ryan and Angel were called to Adventure City Prison after they got an emergency call (with Raven's demon-wolf counterpart joining them to see what's going on at the prison).
"What are you and Cadence doing, Liberty? Pomeranians can't evolve to be sturdy and strong as other dog breeds."
"Yeah, Liberty, take it easy. Remember, the Junior Patrol Program was created by us just for fun," Ryder and Sarah laughed.
"And, there's nothing more fun than realizing your true potential," Liberty replied before she saw the Poms and the Buddies (Budderball, especially) stopping for a short break before she barked at them to continue running. "O-Ah! I didn't say stop! Move it, move it, move it!"
Sarah (shaking her head at her pet) and Ryder could only laugh as the equally amused adults laughed along and joined them while Phillip knowingly quipped, "I wonder where she got her military potential and persona on that one."
Meanwhile, at Adventure City Prison, all was not going well; when Ryan, Angel, and Raven arrived at the prison and were led to the cells containing Rosa, Cawthorn, Humdinger, Victoria, and Jacob, the three of them were horrified beyond belief as to what had happened. The security feed they also saw on how the five of them escaped from prison didn't help matters as they realized the mad doctor had a trump card up his sleeve that they, Sarah, her family, and her friends failed to anticipate the last time they confronted him.
"THEY WHAT?!"
"What do you muppets mean they escaped?!" Ryan and Angel spluttered in shock.
"We're sorry, Commander! But, we were taken completely by surprise!"
"This monster came and nearly killed the guards with these poisonous spikes! Only fifteen of us survived the creature's onslaught!" two of the guards peeped.
"And, you and the other survivors mentioned that the creature that attacked you belonged to Cawthorn?" puzzled Raven to the second guard.
"Yes, Raven! Exactly! It must be something he had worked on but never actually revealed amongst his creations!" the second guard nodded.
"We also did a run-through of the cells and the security footage and not only did we find out something interesting about how they escaped apart from Cawthorn with his creature but there's something else," the first guard added, showing the trio the security footage from the cameras filming the five villains and the Scorpius Rex.
Ryan, Angel, and Raven could only watch as their shock and horror grew, watching the Scorpius Rex attack and kill a majority of the prison's guards with frightening speed and power while looking for its master until it found him, Rosa, Jacob, Victoria, and Humdinger along with the KCC in their cells and broke them out. After that, Cawthorn made his way out of the prison as he left the cell block while Victoria, Humdinger, Rosa, Jacob, and the devious kittens used the secret tunnel the Froggy Bottom mayor dug up.
"So, that's how Humdinger was able to bust himself, his kittens, the monsters who call themselves Race's fammies, and Victoria out of this prison," Angel remarked.
"Wait, what's that over there?" Raven noted, seeing the cloaked figure watching the villains and the Scorpius Rex in one corner of the video from the room they were hiding in and went out of shot to leave the prison as well once the villains had filed out.
"Strange, I don't remember anybody else being in the prison apart from you lot before the majority were killed and those five scoundrels," Ryan said, puzzled as they looked at the cloaked figure in the security footage. "And, by the looks of it, this person is not in line with them. Who is it?"
"I don't know. They were watching them talking and escaping but after that, they disappeared," the second guard replied, looking just as puzzled.
With only what they had from the security feed and theorized to go on, Raven, Angel, the two guards, and Ryan did more run-throughs of Cawthorn, Victoria, Rosa, Humdinger, and Jacob's cells for any more clues left behind by the villains in question. Angel, in particular, went to the toilet and found the secret tunnel Humdinger had dug up for their escape apart from Cawthorn's and whistled to get the others' attention, allowing them to join her and see the tunnel.
"Well, Ryan, baby, this proves it; Humdinger, the sly fox that he is, dug a tunnel out of this crate while he was serving his time here after we got him back from Aulani after he and his nephew along with the so-called Ladybird and the infamous Copycat caused trouble for Sarah, her family, and her friends in Alola," the female detective remarked in confirmation.
Ryan groaned in exasperation, realizing that despite how dimwitted and egotistical he is, Humdinger was not as stupid as he once thought, "Blast, this will cause problems for the lass and her family and friends later. If anything, it's best if we alert the PAW Patrol somehow and get them ready for anything."
"If I may say something, Sir, even if Humdinger is craftier than we and everybody else give him credit for with what he did, I doubt there's very much he and his kittens can do at this rate," the first guard reassured.
"If we round up our remaining forces and have them honeycomb the city and have it on lockdown, we should be able to find those rats and bring them back here," added the second guard.
"...No, Humdinger and his kittens don't scare me, at all. I'm more worried about the PAW Patrol and the rangers crossing paths with his fellow inmates including the creator of a certain pup and two monsters that once abandoned their flesh and blood years ago. Let's hope that none of them end up meeting them again along with Victoria," Ryan replied, still annoyed but also feeling scared for the PAW Patrol, the Power Rangers, Cadence, and Race.
While Ryan, Twoie, and Angel were left wondering what to do to warn the PAW Patrol, the Power Rangers, and their friends about the villains in time, Humdinger and the Kitten Catastrophe Crew led Victoria, Rosa, and Jacob through the sewers as they crawled their way out. Of course, Cawthorn was not with them as he already made his way out of Adventure City Prison thanks to his Scorpios Rex and would most likely be waiting for them at a place they agreed to have as their rendezvous point.
"Not much further, we're almost there," the Froggy Bottom mayor stated.
"Ugh! You said that about 2 miles ago after we left that dump," Victoria snapped at him, annoyed.
"Oh, stop complaining, Dockie. Just be glad that I got you and our revenge busters out of jail while the good ol' doc's out there waiting for us with his pet."
"I will be happy...…when I have something else to look at."
"Don't we all?" snorted Rosa and Jacob as they and Victoria were getting sick of looking at each other's butts as they crawled their way out before they bumped into each other after Humdinger stopped.
"We're here!" he called as he opened a manhole cover and they all climbed out. "Ah, the sweet smell of freedom!"
However, they weren't off the hook yet as who should notice them out of prison but Liberty's close friends, Camille and Tony, while they were going around the city.
"Is that Humdinger and Victoria along with Rosa and Jacob?"
"What are they doing out of jail?" they blinked incredulously, getting Humdinger's attention as he tried to get back in their good graces and forgot to keep a low profile given that he's a criminal now.
"It is me, my lovely people! And, I hope I can count on you for your support in the next election," he tried to sweetwater as Camille and Tony just glared at him and Victoria, Rosa, and Jacob glared annoyingly at him and they were forced to drag him to a nearby alleyway.
"Could you quit your pathetic campaigning, you ugly top-hatted bozo?" grumbled Jacob.
"In case you've forgotten, which you had, we're criminals."
"As you can see, Dingy, we're fugitives on the run!" agreed Rosa and Victoria as they and Jacob quickly dragged him away and went into the alleyway, going deeper into it and meeting up with Cawthorn and his Scorpius Rex (who were already keeping a low profile since their escape).
"Sorry, I forgot. It's just so nice to be reunited with my adoring public after so long," Humdinger replied as he continued to wave to Tony and Camille while he was dragged away.
"Ha! I didn't vote for you! And, I wouldn't count your lucky stars after breaking out if I were you, Rosa, Jacob!"
"Me neither! You were the worst mayor the city's ever had! And, your being locked up prior was a blessing in disguise for Race; you two are amongst the worst parents to ever exist if you're capable of being cruel and cold-hearted to a child such as him!" the pair in question snorted before they left after the villains' disappearance, their hatred and disgust for Humdinger, Rosa, and Jacob in plain sight for all to see after the villains' reemergence.
"And, what, may I ask, took you all so long to get here, hmm?" Cawthorn questioned, unimpressed as he and his Scorpios Rex saw Rosa, Jacob, the KCC, Humdinger, and Victoria finally joining them in the alleyway they took shelter in after escaping first.
"Why not pin the blame on Mr. 'Oh, look at me, my adoring fans!' over there the moment we were finally out of those drench-filled pipes?" Jacob remarked, glowering at Humdinger in annoyance.
"This is why I hate free and fair elections," Humdinger grumbled, oblivious to the others' scorn at him.
"We just gotta keep a low profile until we get those superpowers back from the PAW Patrol, the Dragonstone Patrol, and the Power Rangers. You know that?" Victoria reminded Humdinger.
"And, how do you propose we do that? With how powerful the princess has become, we'll need a fool-proof plan," Humdinger inquired, knowing what Sarah's capable of.
Victoria smirked as she replied, "We give them the one thing they can't resist."
"And, what about Revenge-Seeker 1 and Revenge-Seeker 2 over there?"
Rosa and Jacob turned to Humdinger, making him yelp as he hid behind an annoyed and scornful Cawthorn as they told him, "Leave the scumbag with this princess to us."
"Our unfinished business with him is personal and it doesn't concern any of you. And, you know what that means, don't you, doc?"
Cawthorn, knowing that Rosa was talking to him now, nodded as he replied, "Then, once you have the boy and the PAW Patrol, the Power Rangers, and the Dragonstone Patrol in our hands, you will hand the malamute over to me."
With the arrangements regarding their victims and their idea on how to draw out the heroes agreed upon, they went to the Adventure City Airport where Humdinger (after he, Cawthorn, and Victoria changed back to their regular outfits with Rosa and Jacob getting new outfits to replace their orange jumpers) introduced his fellow fugitives to his private jet called the Humdinger Jet (no surprise there) which he used for personal trips.
Then, when they were ready, they took off with Victoria at the wheel as she put the plane on autopilot before joining Rosa, Jacob, Cawthorn, the Scorpios Rex, the KCC, and Humdinger in the passenger seats.
"Step 1, done and done. Now, all we got to do is fly around until the PAW Patrol and the Power Rangers come to rescue us, bringing the Dragonstone Patrol with them," she told them, feeling complacent with herself.
Humdinger raised an eyebrow as he asked, "And, why would they do that?"
"Because of this."
Acting casually, Victoria opened the door to the plane which caused huge bursts of jet winds to seep into the plane and cause major turbulence which shocked Cawthorn, Jacob, and Rosa and scared Humdinger and the KCC. The Scorpios Rex, on the other hand, was unaffected as it kept a firm grip on the seats it was on and didn't get itself blown away in the process.
"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!"
Humdinger was now freaking out but Victoria didn't care as she took a nearby trolly cart that had a bowl on top and rolled them out the door, causing them to hit the jet's right wing engine and make it catch on fire. This did not sit well with Humdinger at all as he didn't see the point behind his ally's actions. However, Jacob, Rosa, and Cawthorn were starting to put two and two together as they watched and a light went on inside their heads regarding Victoria's plan of action.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
"So, now that we're in trouble, they're gonna have to come and rescue us. Hook, line, and sinker," Victoria smirked knowingly while Race's blood parents and Cawthorn sneered in delight.
"THAT WAS THE PLAN?!"
"YES! Now, sit down and eat your cashews while we go yelp for help," Victoria finished as she cackled and Rosa, Jacob, and Cawthorn continued to sneer, knowing that using a real emergency to their advantage, they'll have the PAW Patrol, the Dragonstone Patrol, the Power Rangers, and Race dancing in their palms before they know what hit them.
"Keep it up, Rose, guys! You're doing great! Go, go, go!"
"Come on, puffballs! You got this!"
Returning to the heroes, once the PAW Patrol had completed their heroics for the day, they returned to the Aircraft and Dragon Carriers to see how Liberty and Cadence were getting on with the Junior Patrollers.
When they did check up on them, they realized that they had been handling themselves and the Poms and Buddies well; the Poms were getting better with their training and they were starting to grasp the discipline needed to become full-fledged members of the PAW Patrol with the Buddies doing the same. Case in point, while on the bridge, the Poms and Buddies were running on their treadmills without stopping (with the Buddies running together in a single file line along an elongated treadmill made possible by Sarah and Race's magic), showing how much they've improved from their first attempts.
"Stop, drop, and roll!" Liberty barked, having Budderball and Mini drop and roll underneath his siblings, Tot, and Nano before they got back up and continued running without tripping.
"Hey, they're doing it!" Cadence grinned in delight.
"Did you see that? They're getting it, these pups are legit!" Liberty grinned at Ryder and the others.
"I've got to admit, Libs, you and Cadence drilled them to shape with your training regime."
"Oh, yes! Those little cuties are becoming more like you and the other pups the more they go through their training! Sooner or later, they'll be ready to perform their first official rescue," Angel and Solon complimented warmly, impressed with what they're seeing.
"You've trained them all wonderfully, girls."
"I'll say, they're looking mighty spiffy the way they are now."
"The Junior Patroller Program may be developed for fun but you're showing them how it's done already," Angela, Phillip, and Hazel agreed, smiling.
"I'm happy you and Cadence got them going at it, Liberty. But, don't you think it's time for you all to take a break?" Ryder suggested despite feeling proud of the Junior Patrollers along with Sarah from what they've seen.
"Do you guys want a break?" Liberty asked the Junior Patrollers as she turned to them.
"We don't need no stinkin' break!" the Poms and Buddies shouted in unison, turning their attention back to their training.
"Ha-ha! That's what I'm talkin', puffballs," grinned Liberty, feeling proud of them.
"Okay, obviously, somebody's been teaching them Sass 1-0-1 while we were gone," Izzy snickered.
"That I like," Hazel agreed with a wink as everybody laughed just as Sarah's Wrist Com and Ryder's Wrist Pad went off.
"PAW Patrol, Power Rangers, here. What's the stich?" Sarah asked.
"Mayday! Mayday, this is Flight HD9904! Our right jet engine's failed and we need immediate assistance!" the 'plea' from Victoria went.
However, the strange plea caused Cadence to act suspiciously as she glared at Sarah answering the mad scientist's call, wondering what she could be planning despite not knowing about her breaking out of jail with Rosa, Jacob, Cawthorn, and Humdinger.
"Hang tight, we're on our way!" Ryder stated as he and Sarah went outside and the former brought out his binoculars, seeing the Humdinger Jet with its destroyed right wing engine before he turned to Skye and Cadence. "Skye, Cadence, I need your flight power for this; you two fly up there and carry that plane to safety. Are you up for it?"
"I'm a Mighty Pup now, Ryder! I was ready for this!" Skye grinned.
"Me, too. But...…" Cadence began before she looked at her Pup Tag and gently touched it, remembering that her crystal was still inside it.
"What's the matter, Cadence?" Amelia asked before the Alaskan Malamute pup took off her Pup Tag and flew over to Solon, surprising everybody.
"Solon, would you mind holding onto this for me?"
"Oh. Sure thing, Cadence, but why would you want to leave your Pup Tag here and not take it with you?" the Solonosaurus asked curiously as she took her Pup Tag.
"Cadence, what are you doing?"
"Why would you take off your Pup Tag when you need your powers for this rescue?" puzzled Chase and Rubble in surprise and confusion.
"Sorry, guys, but I can't help but feel that whoever's calling us sounded familiar, especially thinking back to Sam's report about the meteors crash-landing last night. Something about makes this rescue all too convenient and strangely set up and...I thought I was hearing the voice of that, mad scientist, who brought the meteors down."
"Mad scientist?" the PAW Patrol puzzled.
Everyone thought for a moment before Zayto gasped and his eyes widened in horror as he turned to Cadence and said, "Hold on! Victoria Vance, did she somehow break out of jail without us knowing? How'd you know?!"
The group gasped as Cadence answered, "Don't know but that was her voice."
"Zayto, she might be right. Didn't Victoria do a live stream about her attempt to bring the meteors down with that whacked-out invention of hers that also had the electromagnet she stole from Janet and Hank yesterday?" Javi put in.
"That video went viral for all the wrong reasons for her and if that is her calling for help, I don't like where this is going," Izzy added, sharing Cadence's suspicions now.
"Me, neither. I don't think she would set up something like this without a few more hands to help her do the dirty work."
"You think it could be a trap she set up to get her revenge on us?" Aiyon and Amelia implied knowingly.
"Most likely, knowing her. Better safe than sorry," Cadence nodded, not taking any chances before she turned to Skye. "Skye, I don't think we should go through with this if that really is her and she's trying to bait us."
"I'm sure it'll be fine. And, even if it is a trap, we still have to rescue her," Skye reassured, not sharing Cadence's suspicions despite Sarah being equally suspicious after she thought about it.
"Skye, I wouldn't be too judgmental about that if I were you. With how crafty Victoria is given that she's a scientist, we need to be extra careful as she's nothing like Humdinger, at all," the little princess replied as she turned to Mirage and issued her order to her. "Mirage, if this is a trap, you go with Skye and Cadence and camouflage yourself. *Do not engage* with the enemy when you get to that plane *unless you need to* to get them out of trouble."
"You got it," the female ChangeWing nodded.
"We'll provide ground support as you go along," Ryder offered.
"Whatever you do, exercise caution and be ready for anything if Victoria actually did break out of jail last night to get her revenge," Race informed, getting knowing nods from the two female pups.
"Now, PAW Patrol, Dragonstone Patrol, Power Rangers Mighty Knights, Kitten Rescue Squad, it's Morphin' Time!" Sarah finished as they began their rescue operation.
"Let's take to the skies!" Skye smiled as she and Cadence went up to the clouds and came into view with the invisible Mirage following them.
However, on Twoie, Ryan, and Angel's end, they arrived back at the Aircraft Carrier too late as they saw Skye and Cadence going after the plane, not knowing of the danger that lay ahead for them and the rest of the heroes.
"STOP!"
"Oh, no! Cadence, Skye, babies! You can't go after that plane! Humdinger and his cronies will be up there! Victoria and Cawthorn, too! WAAAIIIIT!" Ryan and Angel called frantically as the female PAW Patrol pups vanished into the clouds as they continued to chase the plane down.
"We're too late! Our felons of the day will be on them in seconds once they board that out-of-control flying craft with them inside! And, the others had already gone after them!" Twoie fretted.
"We can still catch them if we get the devil out of here and over to them, come on!" Ryan suggested as the trio made their way back to his car and they rushed after the heroes, the leader of the city's police force turning on his car's sirens just as they left.
With Cadence, Skye, and Mirage, the invisible ChangeWing and the two pups caught up to the plane and entered it, the malamute looking around for Victoria while Skye went on ahead.
"Don't worry, we're here to help you!" Skye called just as the villains revealed themselves.
"Why, thank you, my friends...…" they sneered as the Kitten Catastrophe Crew sniggered devilishly.
"HUMDINGER/CAWTHORN!" the two pups screamed in horror, realizing too late that in addition to Victoria, the disgraced mayor and mad scientist had also broken out of jail as well (with Mirage snarling quietly at them).
Then, Cadence noticed Rosa and Jacob as she gasped and cried out, "Y-You're Race's parents?! It can't be!"
"It is!" grinned Rosa (Voice Reference: Trakeena (Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)) darkly as she harshly kicked them and sent them to the wall of the plane's right side behind them.
"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! It worked out exactly as you had planned, Viccy! They took the bait and they fell for-huh?" Humdinger smirked, impressed at Victoria's planning after he finally caught on to her scheme but not before noticing Cadence not having her Pup Tag and crystal with her. "Hey! The malamute! She doesn't have her Pup Tag! That means no crystal! What'd you do with it?!"
"Your 'partner' tipped me off with her voice after she made that phony plea, Humdinger! Don't make it harder than it has to be now that we're on to your scheme with Victoria and Cawthorn as well as Race's bastard parents! You're all in a lot of trouble once we get this plane down and throw you back behind bars!" Cadence spat defiantly, not noticing Victoria sneaking up behind her and Skye with her eyes on Skye's crystal.
"I think you're the ones who are in trouble now, Cadence," Humdinger sneered again after he saw Victoria and she snagged Skye's Pup Tag, shocking the two pups as the cockapoo lost her powers and landed on the floor of the plane.
"My crystal!" Skye cried in horror.
"Just like taking candy from a baby. Next time, mind what you're doing, babes," Victoria sneered victoriously, holding Skye's crystal in her hands.
"Give it back!" Skye snapped as she lunged forward to get her Pup Tag back but was swatted away by the Scorpius Rex.
"Ooh, you're a feisty one, aren't ya?"
"Shut up!" Cadence barked furiously and she went at Victoria to retrieve Skye's Pup Tag, making it hard for her to break free from her grasp as she tackled her and made her yelp frantically in pain. "Snag her crystal behind our backs, will ya?!"
"DAGH-Get-AH! Get off! AGH! Get this-OW-mongrel-AH! OFF, ME!" Victoria yelped before Cawthorn's prototype hybrid finally intervened and knocked her off the mad scientist. "Ugh! No matter, we got what we came for! Catch ya around, pipsqueaks, buh-bye!"
With that, she dove out of the plane with her fellow fugitives and the Scorpius Rex behind her.
"NO!" Skye wailed.
"Thank you for flying Air Humdinger! Ta-Ta~!" Humdinger smirked victoriously as the Kitten Catastrophe Crew laughed maliciously at the pups with the cat girls giving a raspberry as they dove out of the plane, leaving them alone.
Now, Skye and Cadence were in a dangerous position; as the Humdinger Jet still had a damaged right wing engine, they and Mirage (who had materialized after feeling the ever-growing turbulence rocking the vehicle like crazy) felt the plane beginning to tilt and lose altitude. This caused Skye to be thrown into the back of the plane, forcing Cadence to think of a way to save her and stop the plane by herself given that her adoptive sister lost her crystal. Spreading her wings as she tried to come up with a plan, she flew into the cockpit and took over the controls, standing on her hind legs and holding onto the driver's handles and pulled back, steadying the plane as best she could while it headed for Adventure City.
"This is gonna be close! Transport: Pup Pack!" she cried out, summoning her Pup Pack which materialized on her back. "Activate, Handle Claws!"
Making use of her Pup Pack's Handle Claws, she used them to help her steer the plane and keep it steady as she, Mirage, and Skye continued their way to Adventure City. Realizing that there was no time for all of them to get out and steer the plane to safety, the Alaskan Malamute was forced to take a gamble that could lead to Skye and everyone else's salvation and possibly, her death, if she was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.
"Skye, you okay?" she grunted as she tried to keep the Humdinger Jet under control.
"Yeah! Except I'm now without my crystal!" Skye called back after Mirage helped her back to her paws.
"I'm gonna land the plane on my own! You and Mirage get out of here, now!"
"WHAT?! I'm not leaving you!"
"Skye, you have to! You need to get your crystal back, you're the only one who can do it!"
"I can't just leave you to-!"
"FORGET ABOUT ME! JUST GO! MIRAGE, NOW!"
The equally distraught Mirage nodded and forced herself to grab the horrified cockapoo and fly out the door, unwilling to let Cadence land the plane by herself despite knowing there was no argument once Cadence had her mind set on protecting her family.
"Hey! Mirage, no! Let me go! Let go of me! Cadence, don't! I have to go back! She'll die! Cadence! Cadence! CAAAAAADEEEEENNNNCCCCCEEEEEE!"
All Skye could do was protest and scream in anguish as she fought against the Changewing's grasp and they made their way back to the other heroes while Cadence was left on her own to land the plane herself.
Satisfied that she had gotten Skye and Mirage away from danger, the little Alaskan Malamute braced herself for what she was about to put herself through as she held her ground on the pilot's chair and turned on the radio to contact Ryder and the others.
"Ryder! Are you there? Come in, Ryder! Do you read me?" she called.
"Cadence! What happened, what's wrong? Where are Skye and Mirage?" the hero boy asked via his Wrist Pad, wondering what was going on.
"I've just sent them back your way! I was right; this rescue was a trap by Victoria! And, what's worse, she's joined forces with Humdinger, Cawthorn, and Race's parents: Rosa and Jacob! All of them escaped from jail with help from a monster made by Cawthorn! But, that's not the worst part; the worst part is they've stolen Skye's Pup Tag crystal in it! I'm going to try to land the plane by myself if I can, I can't get Skye involved! It's too dangerous for her!"
"…Can you make it back to the airport?" Ryder asked, his voice getting heavier as a cold feeling came over him from the other side of the radio call.
"No, the airport's too far, I won't make it there in time! I've got to find a safe place to land this jalopy without having it crash into anything!" the Alaskan Malamute declined, doing her best to keep her grip on the controls as she steadied the plane which continued to make its way over to Adventure City.
"Alright, Cadence! We'll clear the way for you, we'll just have to improvise and fast!" Ryder nodded as he, Sarah, and their friends and her family kept pace with her and the Humdinger Jet as they turned onto Main Street which gave him an idea. "That's it! Hey, Cadence! We're clearing a runway for you, set a course for Main Street! We'll see ya down there!"
"Are you crazy, Ryder?! That's the busiest street in Adventure City! It's Traffic Jam Mania there no matter how you look at it!"
"Trust me, it's also the longest," the hero boy reassured as the heroes finally came to a stop at Main Street and made the preparations, starting with the evacuations as they saw so many cars jam-packed. "Alright, everyone, we need to make a runway and we don't have much time before Cadence comes in with that failed plane. Marshall, Snotlout, Zenna, D'Angelo, you're up first; clear the area and get the people to safety!"
"On it!" D'Angelo nodded as Marshall turned on the sirens on his Mighty Firefighter to get everyone's attention.
"Let's move it, people! This is an emergency! You can't stay here!" the fire pup alerted.
"Tom, Hiccup, Race, you guys help them with the evacations! Move the people out of the way so they don't end up with the plane crashing down on them!" Sarah called to her husband and her fellow leaders.
"Chase, mark the runway down all the way, and don't stop until you're finished!"
"Right!"
"Chase is on the case! Hang on, Cadence, we're coming! Eject, Runway Lights," the boys in question and Chase nodded, the latter driving his Mighty Cop Car down the road while dropping small runway lights from both sides of his car and the former three assisted Marshall, D'Angelo, Zenna, and Snotlout helped with the evacuation of Main Street.
"I feel the need for Super Speed!" Chase quoted as he activated his Mighty Cop Car's Super Mode and it regained its streamlined/aerodynamic appearance, rocketing down the road as he continued to drop runway lights from both sides.
The people cheered as Chase continued to drop runway lights for Cadence across Main Street with Tom and Hiccup continuing to yell at the people, warning them to stay clear of the makeshift runway and Race did the same, following from behind aboard Peacock (his new name for his Featherhide as he had to change the names of his dragons to avoid confusion with the dragons belonging to the Rakke Corp) before they reached the end of the runway and had everyone cleared away.
"This intersection is closed, everybody! All yours, Cadence!" Chase reported.
"Thanks, Chase! I'm given a clear view of the runway!" Cadence reported as she braced herself and prepared to land the plane, activating its landing gear. "Okay, Cadence, time to land. I'm coming in!"
"Now, breathe in quietly. Quiet yourselves and listen to the calming sounds of my voice," a nearby yoga teacher taught to some yoga students from one of the buildings before the jet whizzed by and she screamed.
As Cadence did her best to land on the makeshift runway, she saw an intercity train passing by and she was too low to pull up and avoid it, the passengers inside (including the burly guy that Liberty met and chastised for his littering) gasping in surprise as they saw her and the plane coming their way.
"Oh, no! Guys, a train's in my way! I'm going under!" she screamed, pushing on the handles slightly and making it under the bridge, barely missing the train and the cars below her along with Ryder himself.
Seconds later, the plane finally landed but as it did so, the landing gear wheels came off one by one, causing Cadence to be jostled about before she was thrown harshly into one of the cockpit's side windows making it crack. Stars entered her vision but she had no time to recompose herself as she was suddenly thrown out onto the street the moment the plane clipped a fire hydrant and its nose went up, the plane slowing down as it came to a stop, only barely touching Chase's nose as it came close to hitting him.
"CADENCE!" the pups and Ryder screamed in horror, seeing Cadence being thrown clear and running to her as the people stopped cheering and saw what had happened.
Immediately, Chase was the first one to reach the Alaskan Malamute along with Ryder and they and the others joining her were horrified by what they saw as the police pup nudged her, trying to wake her up. Cadence was badly bruised and mortally wounded from the crash after she was thrown clear, cuts from the broken glass of the window she was thrown out of with little shards all over her body and the right side of her head bleeding from the impact after she made her landing.
Chase whimpered as he quietly peeped, "...Cadence."
"I gotcha, Cadence, it's okay," Ryder added as he gently picked her up, being extremely careful to not aggravate her wounds just as Skye and Mirage (still holding the cockapoo) returned and joined them.
The wounded pup coughed and wheezed shallow breaths as she winced in pain before she fell unconscious, and while Heart extinguished the flames spreading to the rest of the plane, all Skye could do was gasp in horror at the wounds on her sister's body. She looked away, feeling incredibly guilty of Cadence making her leave even though she made the ultimate sacrifice to protect her given that she was the most vulnerable out of all the pups now with her crystal stolen.
At that moment, Ryan, Angel, and Twoie caught up to the heroes as they got out of his car and rushed over to them as the commander yelled, "CHILDREN!"
"Commander!" Lillie gasped as she and the others saw the trio frantically running to them.
"We just got back from Adventure City Prison and the news is not good," Twoie informed.
"We know; Victoria, Cawthorn, and Humdinger escaped and they joined forces along with Race's old parents, Rosa and Jacob," Ash replied gravely as everyone else grimly nodded.
They were surprised as Ryan blinked, "How did you know? We just found you after finding out about their escape!"
"It was a trap; Skye's crystal was stolen and Cadence was mortally wounded while landing the plane to save her after they escaped," Marshall replied as he and the rest of the PAW Patrol felt extremely guilty about falling for their enemies' ploy.
"Cadence got in contact with us and Ryder through the plane's radio and told us what had happened," Mallow nodded solemnly in agreement.
"We managed to help her land the plane but..." Kiawe trailed off as he frowned sadly and gestured the three of them to the wounded malamute, all of them gasping in horror at the damage done to her with the hard landing.
"Cadence! What has happened to you!?" Angel freaked out, starting to cry as she gingerly took Cadence in her arms and tried to soothe her.
Ryan, who was equally shaken and aghast, gently caressed her face as he turned to the hero boy, "Ryder, my boy, what's wrong with her?!"
"The crash did a real number on her; she was thrown out one of the side windows after she made the landing and before the plane finally stopped at the end of our makeshift runway," Ryder informed grimly.
"And, unless she is given medical treatment right away, she'll die in only a matter of time," Rocky informed.
"Those creeps are smarter than we thought. UGH! I can't believe we fell for that stupid trick of theirs; they and Race's parents baited us by putting themselves in danger and striking when we least expected it," grumbled Tyson as he pounded his right fist into his left paw.
"I guess we won the battle by a hollow victory but not the war given how catastrophic things became just now," Xena nodded grimly.
"And, with Race's whacked-out former folk on the loose with those scatter-brained morons, I wonder how we're going to deal with them now," pondered Veneon worriedly.
"Whoa! Hold up, Race had actual parents before the Frontier Brains adopted him?" Izzy blinked.
"Are we missing something here?" Ollie added, sharing her confusion.
"What are you talking about?" agreed Eugene.
Sarah, Ash, and their friends remained silent, mentally debating on whether or not they should tell those who were not in the know about Race's origins and how he came to be with the Frontier Brains before meeting up with them during their Kanto Region field trip. Eventually, however, they nodded in agreement, deciding to spill the beans before they joined Race and tell him about what they did for his sake, hoping he wouldn't be too mad at them for telling the truth.
"Years ago, when Race was only five...… He was dumped here by his former parents, Rosa and Jacob," Ash began.
"Those two never wanted a child to begin with; we're not sure if they did want one at some point since Race never indulged on that but if they did, we think they would've wanted a daughter. Instead, they got him and they were not happy," Mallow added.
"They saw him only as a nuisance and abused him both physically and mentally, seeing him as a mechanism for coping with their own grievances," continued Sophocles.
"They are bad people," Lana interjected.
"Then, one day, they had enough and after he turned five, they lumbered him out on the streets here in Adventure City and left him for dead. And, so, for the next year or so, he had to learn to survive by himself."
"And, when he was six by that time, Brandon, the Pyramid King from the Battle Frontier, came to Adventure City and found him," Kiawe and Lillie informed, sounding as grave as their friends.
"And, ever since then, he's had a grudge against the city and never wanted to come back here because of Rosa and Jacob until I convinced him to return while we were out on a journey looking for my parents," Sarah finished.
The other heroes were left in shocked silence as the Viking Teens nodded in solemn agreement, also being in the know about Race's tragic past and once-broken childhood before the Frontier Brains (mainly Brandon) came into his life.
"...That is, like, the scariest story I've ever heard," Jun gulped, feeling frightened.
"I, I had no idea," Zayto breathed, speechless as everyone else.
"We all didn't," Aiyon remarked in agreement, also aghast.
"That's terrible."
"Unacceptable, now we know why Race didn't talk about his past when you introduced us to him," Olivia and May put in, the latter adjusting her glasses as they tried to get a grasp on the former Battle Frontier champion's misgivings about Adventure City.
"Impossible!"
"Unreal..."
"Creeps!"
"They're both monsters."
"The poor kid," Thunder, Feathers, Plowhorn, and Wu and Wei commented, disgusted by Race's former parents and feeling sorry for him.
"...Yes. I can see how much trauma can force someone like him to develop a grudge against this city, making him never want to come back. What's worse, I can only imagine how many more kids would be like him if they ended up with such ghastly treatment from parents because of anything such as those twisted mindsets of theirs and expectations set way too high for them just for their sake," Phillip frowned darkly.
"We'll worry about them and Skye's crystal later. Right now, we need to get our baby medical assistance, now," Angel reminded everybody.
All the while, the masked figure that spied on the villains following their breakout from Adventure City Prison eavesdropped on them from a short distance while they hid in an alleyway, having seen everything and wondering what they should do to help before...
"Da-da-da-da-da-da! PUPPY POWER!"
"Ow!"
"D'oof!"
Suddenly, the figure was taken by surprise as they turned and saw Scrappy, Scooby, and Della (all of whom had seen the action when the plane came into the city) crashing into the masked figure and standing on top of them, exposing them to the heroes who turned back and jumped at them.
"Hey! Who are you?" Marshall asked, bewildered.
"Hi! My name's Della and these are my new friends: Scooby and Scrappy!" Della began enthusiastically, her social skills now improved since she met Scooby and Scrappy.
Immediately, her eyes widened with awe and amazement as she went over to the heroes and quipped, "Whoa! Humans, more puppies, dragons, aliens, magical creatures, I've never seen anything like you guys before! You're all part of a bigger world! I can't believe it! I've been dreaming of this since I got out of that shop! Never have I seen such cool beings in my life! Are you real? You're really real! No mirages, no illusions. Real deals, right?"
"...….Uh, yeah, we're real," began Rubble as he and everyone else looked at Della awkwardly, not knowing what to do with her enthusiasm.
"Oh, yes! We are most definitely these real deals you mentioned as none of us are mirages! We are as real as glorthogs of the Centauri Moons!" Starfire replied, starting to take a liking to Della as the pup's enthusiasm about something new matched her own.
"...So, you guys locals around here?" Beast Boy piped up, breaking the awkwardness between him and the others and the new pups.
"Yep, we're locals! We go around, wanting to kick some bad guy butt, enjoying life as we go along. Day in, day out, always looking for adventure. Right, bro?" Scrappy spoke on Scooby's behalf and his own, the latter looking like the complete opposite of his brother as Scrappy was more outgoing, daring, and adventurous.
"Uh, yeah! Adventure, crime-fighting, that's us, heh," Scooby nodded sheepishly.
"Ow! As much as I appreciate hearing your thoughts, would you mind getting off me?" grumbled the masked figure from underneath Scooby and Scrappy, catching Twoie's attention as she thought the figure sounded familiar under the fox mask (despite having a bandana covering her mouth).
"Hold on there, cowgirl. Why were you snooping around Adventure City Prison and were you involved in Cawthorn's escape along with Hundinger, Victoria, Rosa, and Jacob last night?" Angel quizzed suspiciously as she walked towards the figure still pinned under Scrappy and Scooby.
"I've nothing to do with them!" the figure spat back.
"Hold it!" Twoie shouted to Angel as she prepared to grab the figure before the demon-wolf gently padded over to them and told the figure. "It's okay, you don't have to hide anything, you can trust us."
The figure looked up in surprise as she saw Raven before she calmly replied (trying to contain her shock as her eyes widened underneath her fox mask), "...….But, why? Why would you say that after all this time? Raven..."
All Twoie could do was give the figure a sympathetic frown as she continued, "I knew you didn't want anything to do with Cawthorn's plans for me and his crazy ambitions for the world after you helped him create me. You're an oddball and outlier in his team and I wanted to know if you're okay after I was released from that monster's custody. My friends won't hurt you as long as I'm with them, they really do mean well so there's no need to be afraid. After all, it's been quite a while since we last met...…Dr. Stacey."
The heroes gasped along with Della, Scooby, and Scrappy (the two brothers finally jumping off of the figure as she got up and knelt in front of Twoie), seeing them slowly remove the fox mask and pull the bandana/scarf off their mouth. Once their disguise was removed, the figure was revealed to be a young American-Latino woman at around 35 with chestnut brown hair wrapped in a messy bun (while also sporting a cross-shaped scar on her left cheek).
"Dr. Stacey/Dr. Stacey/Dr. Stacey?" puzzled everybody.
Ryan and Angel, on the other hand, were dumbfounded as they looked at each other and the figure, Dr. Stacey, sadly smiled at Twoie and petted her as she told her, "So, it really was you, after all. Thank goodness... I was worried the commander and his co-agent that gained custody of you treated you badly as that bastard scientist did before."
"I'm fine, Dr., really," Twoie purred reassuringly as she accepted Stacey's comfort.
"Dr., you're alive?"
"But, how?" Ryan and Angel finally spoke up, both of them still flabbergasted.
Stacey hushed everybody before she looked around and whispered to everyone (making sure she was loud enough for everyone gathered to hear and keep the citizens out of their conversation), "It's not safe to talk here given what you've experienced. Come with me, I know where you can stay for now."
