Chapter 29: Climb To The Top Of Mt. Pyre! Teams Aqua & Magma Steal The Orbs!

Michael and the girls quickly took in the fact that Team Aqua had arrived at Mt. Pyre.

Weiss - "So what do we do now Michael?"

Michael - "Simple. For now, we just climb to the top of Mt. Pyre and check on the orbs. Then, if either one OR both orbs are gone, we'll head further east to Lilycove City and plan our next move there."

Clair - "Sounds reasonable enough for now. Let's get moving."

With their plan of action figured out, the party slowly made their way to Mt. Pyre. Upon entering the inside of the mountain, Michael caught a Shuppet and Duskull, then sent both catches home.

Calli - "That's 2 new catches for you."

Blake - "And because of Duskull, Michael also gets a new Sinnoh catch with Dusknoir."

Michael - "Not done yet though. My aura sight tells me that there's one more catch to make here on Mt. Pyre."

Michael then asked a few people about how to reach the mountain's summit. This led to him and the party being told about a second path which would take them back outside, then up and around the mountain to the summit itself. During the trek up, Michael caught and sent home a Meditite.

Applejack - "And that's your last catch, isn't it?"

Michael - "For now until we set off for Mossdeep City."

As the party continued their way up to Mt. Pyre's summit, they soon came across a bunch of Team Aqua Grunts. Thankfully, Michael and the girls made easy work of them. Then as they reached the summit, the party saw the one person they were hoping wouldn't be there at all.

Michael - "Crap. He's here..."

The guy Michael was talking about was none other than Team Aqua's leader, Archie himself.

Archie - "Maxie got here ahead of us, but we also got what we wanted. The Red Orb preserved at Mt. Pyre... I, Archie, now have it in my possession! Fufufu... Now we both can bring our ultimate objectives to fruition! Okay, team! We're pulling out!"

With that, Archie and the grunts with him quickly fled Mt. Pyre. An old woman than approached the party.

Elderly Woman - "Oh no... This can't happen..."

Weiss - "What are you talking about ma'am?"

Elderly Woman - "Not only the Blue Orb, but even the Red Orb has been taken... The two orbs must never be seperated. They belong together."

Michael - "What do you mean by that ma'am?"

Then the elderly woman suddenly acted as if she wasn't panicking.

Elderly Woman - "Oh, yes. Was it Team Magma that came and took the Blue Orb first? Well, in their haste, they left this behind. I couldn't imagine exactly what it could be. I would like you all to have it. Perhaps it'll be useful in some way."

The Elderly Woman then handed Michael an emblem that had Team Magma's symbol on it. Michael looked over at both sides of the emblem.

Ruby - "So now what do we do Michael?'"

Michael - "Simple. We'll head to Lilycove City and inform Steven about what happened here. Then we'll plan from there."

The girls quickly agreed to the plan. Soon Michael was leading the girls over to Lilycove City. And during the entire trek over there, he was deep in thought.

Michael - "Ok now. This is surely a lot to take it. Sadly, we were too late to stop Archie from taking the Red Orb. And according to the elderly woman, Maxie had already taken the Blue Orb. Wait..."

Realization quickly dawned on Michael.

Michael - "But just why would those two just take an orb without thinking? Unless... They truly didn't think at all. Yes, I know that I said which orb would awaken which Legendary. But sadly, it seems like those two just didn't think things through at all."

The party quickly found themselves at Lilycove City's Pokémon Center. Weiss then said that she was gonna lead her team to check on everyone's supplies, but Michael suddenly stopped her.

Michael - "Not yet Weiss."

Roxanne - "How come Michael?"

Michael - "I want you girls to stay by, so I don't have to repeat what I tell Steven. Besides, something tells me that what I'm gonna say could very well make us speed up our plans to STOP Archie and Maxie. Especially because they have taken the orbs already."

Clair - "Michael's right. Let's discuss our current plan of action first, then we'll go from there."

The party then entered the Pokémon Center. But just before Michael sat down and started the call, he quickly brought out Sceptile and Serperior.

Serperior - "What do you need us for Michael?"

Michael - "Surveillance. Something tells me that Team Aqua's hideout is somewhere around the city."

Sceptile - "So then you want us to be on the lookout for it?"

Michael - "Yes. The moment you spot it, call it in."

Sceptile/Serperior - "Right!"

Both Grass Starters then quickly exited the Pokémon Center, eager to quickly find Team Aqua's hideout. Meanwhile, Michael sat down and contacted Steven.

Steven - "Hello Michael. It's been a while since I last saw you and the girls at Fortree City."

Michael - "Yes it has been. I'm guessing you're in Sootopolis City already?"

Steven - "Yes I am. And I've got Lance, Leon, Gura, Ina, and Ame here with me as well."

The rest of Steven's group came into view.

Lance - "So what's the current situation on the orbs?"

Michael - "Well that's the bad news. They've both been taken already."

Leon - "What?! But how did that happen?"

Clair - "As we were making our way over to Mt. Pyre, we saw a few Team Aqua grunts. Then, upon reaching Mt. Pyre summit, we saw Archie, who had successfully stolen the Red Orb."

Weiss - "Not only that, but according to Archie, Maxie had also successfully stolen the Blue Orb as well."

Ina - "That's not good, is it?"

Steven - "No it's not..."

Michael - "I wouldn't be so quick to say that Steven."

Lance - "What do you mean by that Michael?"

Michael - "Roxanne. You remember what the old woman said at the summit right?"

Roxanne - "I do remember hearing her say something about the orbs not being separated. But I'm still trying to understand what she meant by that."

Michael was still trying to figure that out too.

Michael - "Ok now. Something here just isn't adding up. Obviously, this entire case has a lot of holes in it. Then let's just go ahead and start filling those holes in. First is the mural in Granite Cave that talks about how Lady Kyogre and Lord Groudon lost control due to being forced into their Primal Forms. And the main reason for that? The orbs were used back then as well. But then we come to how Lady Rayquaza was able to overpower her siblings. According to Ms. Annebelle, just what was used to allow Lady Rayquaza to achieve the power needed to defeat her siblings? A stone that shined with rainbow light due to the wish created by the Draconids. However, Lady Rayquaza will only be a last resort in case the girls and I are too late to stop Archie and Maxie from awakening Lady Kyogre and Lord Groudon. But still though. Just what caused Lady Kyogre and Lord Groudon to go berserk? Surely just one of the orbs alone shouldn't have that kind of power, right? Wait a sec..."

Michael then suddenly remembered what the elderly lady on top of Mt. Pyre said.

Michael - "That's just not possible, right? But what if it is? An Orb of Blue for Lady Kyogre. And an Orb of Red for Lord Groudon. One is to awaken them. And the other is to let them know you're worthy of their power. But it's only when both Orbs are together, is their power truly shown. But due to Archie and Maxie, history's gonna repeat itself unless we put a stop to it."

Michael - "So that's it huh?"

Ruby - "What do you mean Michael?"

Michael - "Tell me Steven. In the entire time you've studied the mural back in Granite Cave, did it ever once say anything about both Orbs being used together?"

Steven thought for a few moments.

Steven - "No. It didn't."

Michael - "As I thought."

Roxanne - "What do you mean by that Michael?"

Michael - "Simple my dear Roxanne. Because of Archie and Maxie's arrogance, all of Hoenn will soon face uncertain chaos."
