Different Seasons Fall- Part 4: An Apple For the Teacher

A/N: Welcome back! Thank you so much for your kind words! I greatly appreciate them! We have reached the eve before the first day of school And so begins a new era: Professor Sohma. Mayu is so proud of our dear Dr. Sohma and so she shows him the best way she can: by preparing him a special bento box.

Mayu Preps Lunch

The night before Tori's first class I spent some time making sushi for his bento box. I felt so pleased to be able to make him something worth eating as I had become quite practiced in making his favorite roll. Kana taught me well to at least make that very well. I planned on eventually broadening my horizons but for now I was happy to be able to make this for him. He walked into the kitchen and smiled, saying,

"You're spoiling me Mayu."

"Well it's your first day of school tomorrow Dr. Sohma. I want to make sure you have a home cooked meal."

He kissed my neck saying,

"I'm the luckiest lecturer ever."

and left me to my culinary efforts while he went over his notes for his class again. As I finished and put the rolls into protective containers I thought about including a note along with the meal to remind him I was thinking about him and to wish him luck. Walking over to the junk drawer, I found a pen and the long paper meant for shopping lists and I made out a special list for Tori.

I crossed out the word Shopping and wrote: "Of Things to Remember on Your First Day of School" after the printed word "List"

I then enumerated my list of things to remember for the upcoming day on the spots meant for one's shopping list. I knew he had an afternoon class so he would probably read my words of encouragement before his day began. I told him to remember:

1. You are brilliant and have great command of your subject matter.

2. You have a wonderful wry sense of humor- don't be afraid to show it. Just because you're a lecturer doesn't mean you need to be dour.

3. There will be fan girls and boys in your class. there always are. Just keep teaching and ignore them

4. And most importantly, I love you and I'm so proud that your talent is being recognized. Good luck today.

I then kissed the list, leaving my lipstick on the paper and tucked it in between the two layers of the box and put it into its carrier and then into the refrigerator. I then walked into our study where Tori had fallen asleep on top of the notebook holding his syllabus. I quietly whispered his name and he started, saying,

"Oh sorry Mayu, I guess I nodded off."

"Let's get you to bed. You have an exciting day tomorrow."

I helped him up and got him ready for bed. I then tucked him in and kissed him saying,

"You're going to be great."

"Thanks Mayu, that means a lot coming from you."

We then fell asleep, both thinking about the next day.

Tori Loves the Morning (Lemon)

The next morning I woke quite early due to my nerves. I tried to be as quiet as I got up to start breakfast but she felt me rise, rolled over and stretched, looking at the clock saying,

"Its still dark Tori, what's up, is something wrong?"

"No. I just wanted to make up for falling asleep on you last night by making you breakfast."

"Oh darling, don't feel bad. You needed your sleep."

She smiled up at me sleepily and she kissed me again saying,

"I'm not sure I'll ever really get used to your love of the morning, but as this is a special day I'm happy to meet the sun with you."

I sat down on the edge of the bed and said,

"Well my nights won't be so late now so I will have more time to spend with you during the evening and as I have afternoon classes I will be able to get in a nap so I'll be fully awake at night so we'll meet in the middle."

She looked at the clock again and said,

"I don't have to be at work for another two hours. I have plenty of time to have breakfast before I go. And a little more than that."

I chucked and said,

"Well, I can certainly satiate that hunger as well."

As she was still waking up I took it slowly. However, she began waking at my touch. Arching her back as I kissed her beautiful body, she moaned and said,

"This is certainly the only way to wake up."

Mayu

Dawn's first light glowed behind the shades giving our bedroom an aura of mystery. I could just make out his shape above me as he hadn't turned on the bedroom light, hoping to slip into the kitchen undetected. It gave his touch a disembodied feel, as if the very air loved me and kissed my skin. My nightgown slowly shimmied up, as if a ghost took hold of it, and phantom lips traced my body, finally coming to rest at my core. My feeling ramped up, as he began lapping at me.

"Oh God!" I moaned.

His fingers followed suit and soon I was nearly over. Just as I reached my height of ecstasy, he entered me and I felt my orgasm flow through my body. He brought me up again and as he came with me again I said,

"We should make love in the morning more often. That has got to be the best way to start one's day."

By this time the sun was higher in the sky and I could see the smile on his face and the love in his beautiful green eyes. He kissed me again and we held each other. But he drew away saying,

"I promised you breakfast in bed. But I'm afraid at this point it will have to be cereal and toast because it's getting close to the time when you should be up and getting ready for work."

"That's fine."

Tori's Lunch

I got a quick breakfast together and I went over my notes with her again. She assured me that I would do well and that she wasn't just being a loving fiancée. We then caught a shower together and tried not to get too involved with enjoying each other's bodies. Sometimes I felt like I was making up for lost time as ever since Mayu and I had gotten together the two of us were insatiable. I felt bad for scolding Gure for his focus on carnal feelings. I had been much too cerebral in my past, denying the other side. And sometimes I felt like a man who had just entered paradise after living alone on a desert island.

But soon it was time for Mayu to go. She quickly dressed and picked up her lunch and her briefcase. After, after hugging me and wishing me well she left. I had a few hours before I needed to be at the university so after spending time dressing, packing my briefcase and relaxing with a cup of tea I grabbed my lunch and met my friend Sota at the hospital cafeteria. He smiled at my elaborate bento box and said,

"Man, my wife buys me store-made sushi if I'm lucky. Otherwise I need to fend for myself at the caf. But your fiancée went all out for your first day! I'm jelly man."

I smiled and took out the containers holding her hand rolled sushi, seaweed salad, and apple slices for the teacher. Her note, which had been tucked between the boxes, fell out. Reading it caused my usually stoic public face to break out into a smile.

Sota said,

"Well I know those symptoms Dr. Sohma; you have a classic case of the love bug. It's been going around and you have a systemic case. I've seen that face in the mirror. Even though she isn't that great in the kitchen, my wife just knows how to make me smile. And as you rarely crack a smile in public I really need to meet the woman that has that affect on you. You're clearly so damn in love with her."

I laughed and said,

"Is it that obvious? Yeah. That's certainly true. Hey, why don't you and your wife come over for dinner sometime. I'll run it by her but I think Mayu and I are free. We could make it a dinner party if I invited my cousins and their partners."

"That would be great. Check in with them and I'll see what my wife's up to."

We agreed that that sounded like a wonderful night and we finished lunch. I then turned to Sota and said,

"Now if you'll excuse me I'd like to catch Mayu before she goes back into class."

"No worries. Good luck this afternoon."

"Thanks!"

Mayu Needs A Hall Pass

I had been having lunch in the teacher's cafeteria when Tori called. Walking out into the courtyard to give myself a bit of privacy, I answered and said,

"Hi Tori, how are you doing?"

"Well I apparently have a systemic case of the love bug as diagnosed by Dr. Sakai. Oh and thanks for the note, I will definitely try to remember everything on your list, especially the last item."

"Well that's the most important thing of all. Don't forget that. "

"As if I could. You were simply glowing this morning. I felt like you were seeing me off to my first day of kindergarten rather than my first day teaching a room full of future doctors."

"I can't help it. You've accomplished so much!"

"I'm joking. I'm really happy how proud you are of me. And it really is due to you that I had the courage to break out of my role as "The" Dr. Sohma. I've loved being "A" Dr. Sohma. And I'm sure I'll love being Professor Sohma even more."

"Well you earned it. I just hope that teaching the same lecture over and over doesn't take the bloom off your feelings. That's how I felt until they gave me a chance to teach an upper level literature class."

He chuckled and said,

"Well let's hope the petals stay on through my first class at least."

The bell signaling the end of lunch period rang.

"Well speaking of class I have to run as the administrators typically frown on the teacher being late to her own class."

"Well I just wanted to thank you and to say I love you."

"I love you too. Good luck today! I'll see you tonight!"

Just as I hung up, one of my colleagues tapped on the glass and pointed to her watch. I waved and went for the door and nearly ran smack dab into Kyo and Tohru who were catching a quick kiss before class. I yelled my apology while attempting to get by them.

"Sorry! I'm late, and so are you! We should all get to class!"

Tohru got flustered but Kyo said,

"If you give us a hall pass we won't be late."

I was feeling generous as I was late for basically the same thing so I wrote them passes. My own class was in an uproar but settled the minute I sailed in, saying,

"Sorry! Sorry!

We finally settled into the lesson plan for the fall term but I couldn't help but wonder how Tori's class would go.

Tori's First Class

The rest of the time before my class went quickly and soon it was time to make my way to my class. As I was teaching two sections of the first year weeder classes intro to A and P (there were an army of lecturers as it was the weeder class for several fields so I wasn't surprised when I was granted only two of them) I found myself at the front of a massive lecture hall. As the students started to trickle in my TAs introduced themselves as Akiko Ito and Reiji Ota. They were both fourth year students. While Reiji was very quiet and barely spoke, Akiko was much more outspoken. As she saw that I was nervous she said,

"You've been through this class so you know it's a weeder for the program. So it's best to be tough as nails. They'll hate you for it but in the end they'll thank you because this is the foundation of their entire medical career. Being a nice grader and wishy-washy lecturer doesn't get them anywhere."

"Thanks for the advice."

She smiled again and she and Reiji picked up the copies of my syllabus. As she left the dais, Akiko gave me a thumbs up, said "ganbate!" and she an Reiji started to pass out the syllabi. I leaned against the podium waiting for the start, saw the clock hand click into place, straightened, and began.

"Good afternoon, my name is Dr. Sohma and this is Intro to Anatomy and Physiology. As you are surely aware this is one of the most important entry courses to your career as doctors as it's quite important to know where things are located in the body and what they do before attempting to treat them. It's my job as your professor to make sure you know both. As for what I expect from you, I expect you to try your best and learn as much as you can in these few months and you can expect that I will facilitate your learning. It won't be easy, but with hard work I'm sure you'll succeed. So with all that in mind, I hope I haven't scared you off. No? Ok good, let's review the syllabus!"

And with that I began going through the syllabus, took questions and provided them with my office hours. This brought us to the end of my lecture and as the students filtered out Akiko returned with the spare syllabi.

"Well that went well. We only have another of these to go today and we're done!"

I smiled and thanked her for her sage advice.

"No problem. I've seen a few green professors through their first classes. I think this will be a good semester."

"Thank you Ms. Ito." She went off saying that she'd get back before the next class and offered to get me a tea while Reiji found a seat, put his headphones in, and zoned out. I thanked her but declined as I had a travel mug of tea. I drank some and, looking at my watch, I saw that Mayu would be home so I called and said,

"Hi love, I'm in between classes so I thought I'd check in. I should be home for a late dinner."

"I'm really liking your new schedule. How's it going anyway?"

"Well, I think. I have two huge sections of Intro to A and P today, Wednesday and Friday and Tuesday and Thursday I'll hold office hours and hold meetings with my TAs.."

"So how are the students enjoying the exciting world of A and P?"

""Oh come now, you remember my lecture. We've already established biology can be very exhilarating."

"Dr. Sohma!" She laughed, clearly enjoying my playfulness.

"Sorry love. I can't help it. You bring it out of me. Well, I gotta go."

"Bye Tori, I'll see you tonight."

I hung up smiling ear to ear. Akiko came in with her tea and caught me smiling. She coughed quietly and when I turned she said,

"Sorry. I didn't meant to interrupt. Can I just say it is a welcome break to see a professor smiling like that? Most are pretty jaded teaching section after section of the same course. "

I chuckled and then put my professional face on again and said,

"Well hopefully I can keep from becoming jaded. I'm honestly excited."

"I'm glad you're weathering the storm pretty well. I just hope you're smiling after the first tests come back. There will be a lot of Fs and some of the other profs find that a bit hard to take. Especially when the students come and complain."

By this time the next section had started to filter in. I smiled and said,

"Thank you. Well it's time. Let's get started."

Reiji deigned to return to society and we got through the class and I said goodbye and wished them well.

I then returned home and found Mayu had made a cold supper for us so that we wouldn't have to wait to heat it up.

Mayu and Tori Perform an Experiment (Lemon)

I let him eat while I regaled him about my day.

"Do you know, I was late for my afternoon class today. You are a bad influence. Dr. Sohma."

He laughed and said,

"I'd believe that of Gure, I'm an angel."

"No sir, you are the culprit. We mere mortals should be warned about you Sohma men. You're irresistible."

"Irresistible huh?"

"Yes. I'm sure Chris and Mine would agree."

I kissed him and, as we were finished with the meal, we took our wine to the couch. I asked,

"How did it go?"

"Well! I got through my classes due to your kind words and those of my TA. You both had sage advice. They're really big classes so I won't get to know many of my students like you do, but hopefully in the future that will change."

He looked so happy. Clearly he was doing what he had wanted to do for a very long time. It reminded me of my first day teaching. While I had been nervous I loved that I was shaping future minds. Tori had that energy as well. Plus he looked impossibly hot in his new suit.

Seeing me admiring him, he put his wine down and drew me in and said,

"So I'm irresistible am I?"

"Yes. There has to be some kind of chemical attraction . I'm drawn to you."

He pushed me down n the couch and I could smell his spicy cologne. It was heady. He whispered,

"Well, that may be true but I think I need more empirical data."

He then gently kissed me, as if taking notes on how my lips felt on his. Pausing, he then drew me closer, slipped his tongue into my mouth, added pressure to his kiss, and slipped his hand down my body. His hand rested on my right breast, feeling its fullness, tweaking the nipple between his fingers. I moaned and he whispered,

"Yes I think I'd concur that you are attracted to me."

I smiled and said,

"Well the labs are still out if you're attracted to me."

"I assure you that I'm just as attracted to you."

Hi guided my hand down his body and I indeed found evidence of his arousal.

"Hmm, now that we have empirical proof of our attraction what's the next step Dr. Sohma?"

"Seeing what happens when we add heat. I theorize that a chemical reaction will occur."

He picked me up and carried me to our bedroom. He smiled at me and I still felt the butterflies in my stomach. I had a feeling I would feel the butterflies when we were old and gray.

Carefully laying me on the bed, he sat down beside me and kissed me sweetly. I saw my own love mirrored in his eyes. Taking his jacket and tie off, he leaned over me and said,

"Although the current testing conditions aren't ideal as we're both entirely too dressed. Wouldn't you agree?"

"I concur."

And after that moment all formalities were shed like the clothes that went sailing into a pile.

Knowing that I had really enjoyed the Anvil position, Tori entered me from above and slammed into me. I saw stars as the emotions flew through me. All of our inhibitions as a couple were gone. I no longer cared if someone could chance to hear my cries, although at one point Tori had assured me the structure was sound enough that no one would hear. And as we never heard our neighbors I believed him. As we climaxed he collapsed beside me and held me, whispering,

"My thesis checks out. A strong chemical reaction occurred when our bodies were introduced."

He then threw his arms around me and held me close.

I chuckled saying,

"Mmmmm. now that's what I call a chemistry lab. My own days in college chemistry were pretty bland."

And for the first time neither of us winced at the mention of the past. We had both finally moved on and were looking into the future.

As we had an early morning, we dozed in each other's arms, enjoying the closeness.
