The sun hits my face and my eyes flutter open. I look around and see the beautiful reflections on the water next to me, and I wonder, if I could swim here then what's stopping me from swimming in the river? No, it's rushing too fast. I would just be swept away. I bring myself back to reality and contemplate a way to escape this ravine. I certainly can't climb out of here, that's for sure. No, this will require some planning.
I take out some wood and create a new workbench, then place it down. What can I create to get out of here? My thoughts run wild as I try numerous arrangements of the materials I have. Eventually, a tool composed of a stick and a curved piece of wood appears in a short burst of light. A pickaxe. This thing has pointed edges, so perhaps I can break the stone with it.
It works. It actually works. A single rock enters my inventory as I break a tile. A warm sense of excitement surges through me as I continue to mine my way to the surface. At last, I set foot on the green grass. The sheep, the birds, the fish, they're all here, just like they were before. The skeletons, gone. I'm not sure where they went, but it doesn't matter. They won't torment me anymore.
Behind me, I hear an odd hissing sound, followed by some skittering. I turn around and find a rather large black spider with red eyes. Despite its scary appearance, I find myself growing quite fond of it. Reminded of the rocks in my inventory, I decide to name it Rocky. It soon begins to follow me as I continue to explore, but now I must be diligent. At night, the skeletons will attack again, and I may be not be so lucky next time.
