One Month Later

"Kimmie…c'mon…we're going to be late," Thomas said as he leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek and she didn't move. He reached down and felt her forehead and it didn't feel like she had a fever. He gave her a rather rough shoulder shake, but she still didn't wake up. He had found out that she was a really sound sleeper, but she had always woken up. "Kimberly, this isn't funny."

"Where's Thomas?" Theo asked as he walked up to Jason and Rocky and they both stared up at him. They were still not used to their friend being related to the head of the Academy and these surprise visits always unsettled them. "He didn't get in touch with you?"

"No. He ran home right after combatives last night. He mentioned that Kimberly has had a rough few days," Jason said as Theo let out a sigh. "Maybe they just overslept?"

"No- Amelia ran by their apartment and they're not there. Our communicators are on the fritz this morning- so if he's tried to reach out…" Theo trailed off as he saw Mitchell glaring at him from the back of the class. "Shit."

"Communicators are out, apparently," Mitchell said as Theo met him and turned him around to go out of the class. Whatever Mitchell had to say, it would be better if they weren't in front of students. "Thomas called a bit ago. He said that he'd be missing lessons today because he had to take his wife to the hospital. Kimberly wouldn't wake up this morning."

"She what?" Theo asked as he saw Amelia and Phoebe jogging down the hallway towards them. "He called you?"

"Robert isn't on duty today. No one was answering in the office and his communicator is out. Yeah- he called me," Mitchell said as Theo let out a sigh of relief. He hated that something was wrong, but he at least knew where they were now. "He's betrothed to someone and last I checked- her name wasn't Kimberly Hart."

"Sorry Mitch, when you gave him those papers he was already married," Theo said as he clapped Mitchell on the back and then walked past him to intercept Amelia and Phoebe. They would know what to do when it came to Kimberly and neither of them needed to deal with Mitchell at this moment. "They're at the hospital. Apparently she wouldn't wake up this morning."

"Oh no," Phoebe whispered as she shook her head. "You don't think…"

"She matches…she matches a lot of it. And Thomas…" Amelia trailed off as Theo looked back and forth between the two of them. Something passed between them and he could tell they did not like what they were realizing. "Go to the hospital. We can only speculate right now and that does him no good, having family there will help."

"Yeah, you're right," Theo said before he gave her a quick kiss and he looked back to see Mitchell glaring at the three of them. "By the way- he knows. If you can get Tasia to get in touch with Atlantis…"

"Absolutely," Amelia said as she gave him a hug. "Go take care of our boy."

Thomas stood outside of the room as the doctors ran another battery of tests. Mitchell had promised to go to the Academy and tell Theo what was going on, but he knew there was a chance that he wouldn't. He closed his eyes as he tried to figure out what might be going on, but nothing came to mind. She had started having more breakthrough prophecies recently, but it was nothing that worried the other prophets.

"Mr. Chesterfield- we can't let you up here," the nurse said as Thomas turned around to see Theo moving past the nurse, with a trail of hospital staff behind him. "Mr. Chesterfield!"

"I'm not leaving my son here alone to sit through whatever the hell is going on," Theo ground out as the hospital staff gave him confused looks.

"Dad," Thomas whispered as they all spun around and Theo caught him as his knees gave out. "I can't…I can't lose her."

"They'll figure it out, T. We're all working on it," Theo said as Thomas clutched to him and the medical staff started to move away, apparently satisfied with who he was here to support.

"Mr. Trueheart?" the doctor called as Theo watched Thomas collect himself and they both walked down the hall. The look on his face made Thomas' heart drop into his stomach. "There's no explanation for it. All of her tests are normal, but she's a prophetess. Things are different for them. We will give her supportive care, but we may have to wait this out."

"You are a doctor. How can you not know anything?" Thomas reacted as the doctor took a step back and Theo gently grabbed Thomas' arm. He wasn't sure that the doctor had been warned that that was his soulmate, but he was sure that the man had gotten the point now. "Help her!"

"There's a few additional tests we can run," the doctor said as he glanced at Theo and he nodded for him to continue. They needed to calm Thomas. "We also have a specialist we can consult."

"Do it," Thomas stated as the doctor nodded and then ran off. "When are we going to catch a break? When will we just…"

"I don't know. C'mon, I'll sit with you," Theo said as he opened the door to her hospital room and then followed behind him. "Hey….we're going to figure it. She's going to wake up- you have to believe that, because the only thing that may pull her back is you.
