Author's Note:

So, my trip has been delayed until tomorrow morning. Meaning I got to edit and post this chapter as a bonus!

Hope you all enjoy!

Edward's POV:

"Fuck!" I exclaimed, as I reached my office.

The need to hit something grew the more distance I put between us.

It was obvious that she was angry with me for even suggesting it. But what the hell was I supposed to do?

I can't retaliate their first attack on her if she isn't officially a part of the family. My hands are tied. And I'm fucked.

My father wanted to send her to a hidden property in a city within Panama, and I would have agreed had his crazy ass, had he not suggested for me to go with her and protect her.

How the fuck was I supposed to protect her when she's so fucking pigheaded?!

As if that's not the least of my worries now my dolcezza was fucking pissed at me for telling her of the plan.

Well, minus Panama. Because she was already too fucking pissed off as it was. If I told her about Panama odds are she'd react physically, and in all honesty something told me she was the violent type.

When I warned my father that this was how she was going to react angrily he fucking gave me a knowing smirk and laughed his ass off before telling me to figure it out on my own.

Now, this happened.

"Fucking hell!" I growled, throwing the shit on my desk off of it and flipping it over in my anger.

"Trashing your office isn't going to help you make her agree to marry you." Sienna commented as she sat on the couch looking at me amused.

"I'll be lucky if she fucking talks to me ever again." I mumbled, dropping into the chair heavily.

"Why is that?" She asked, as the corners of her lips twitched as she fought off an amused smile.

"Because she fucking thinks us getting married is outrageous. Doesn't believe that she's truly in danger." I answered flatly.

"Why is that?" She asked, with a raised brow.

"Well, because it's true. I mean we've only officially met two days ago. It's ludicrous! Add the fact that the Endrizzis almost tried to hit her with a car as she walked out of the airport and let's just say… I'm in over my head." I replied with a headshake.

"What? And you think that Demitri and I just magically fell in love and decided on a whim to get married?" She asked, raising a brow. "These things take time, Mase." She added pointedly.

I frowned at her, before raising a brow and leaning forward, placing my elbows on my thighs. "I don't— understand."

"Oh brother, seriously. You can not be this blind or stupid." She scoffed.

No, I'm not. I do remember how she and Demitri had ended up together.

He was assigned as her main security detail, after we had a problem with one of our rivals.

Not everyone knows the fact that Demitri was actually her future husband. My father and his grandfather decided that uniting the Savinellis to the Massimos would be beneficial to all of us.

Not knowing that Matteo Savinelli had found his son Carlo, and made peace with him shortly before this happened.

The day of the attack, the Endrizzis planned a drive-by.

Sienna and Jane, my youngest sister, happened to be with us that day… and Demitri managed to save her, getting hit while doing so. Right in the back.

Jane and her boyfriend didn't make it out alive.

While Demitri was hospitalized for a long time, Sienna watched over him, hoping to be able to thank him for saving her.

After that she and he developed a friendship while he was in therapy, and ended up falling in love. They've been married for a few months now, and seem as in love as my parents do.

All the while we mourned the painful loss of our baby sister.

It was after that day, that I vowed to never let the women in our lives get tainted by this life and world.

That was why Isabella's reaction had so stumped. How was I supposed to keep her safe if she didn't allow me to?

Sienna's voice quickly pulled me out of my thoughts as they began to go down a dark path.

"Do you see what I mean?" She asked, smiling at me.

"I get the gist of what you're trying to tell me…" I mumbled as I dropped my head into my hands.

"Do you really?" She asked.

I looked up at her, narrowing my eyes at her. "You want me to court her." I replied, flatly.

She laughed, shaking her head at me. "No, idiota, what I mean is … show her the danger she's in. Take her out and allow her to go off on her own." She suggested.

Was she insane?!

"No! Absolutely not. That is out of the question." I said, shaking my head at her, vehemently.

"Edward, listen to me. You're only going to let her go, but keep a watchful eye on her. If anything happens, you can go in and play hero. It's that simple. Show her what this world is about." She explained as if it was that simple.

I sighed, "I'll think about it. I don't really like this idea … her being anywhere in danger… it— it doesn't sit well with me." I replied.

"It's your choice. Dio knows that both of you are being hard headed." She muttered before getting up.

"Clean this up before mamma has a coronary." She added before leaving.

My mind reeled as I thought about what Sienna said.

Fucking hell, I fucked this up, in epic proportions. What the fuck is wrong with me?

No. What is wrong with her?!

She's acting like I caused all of this.

What in the world am I supposed to do now?

How do I get on her good side again without pissing her off more?

"Fucking hell." I groaned, as I realized my sister might be right.
