Chapter 1-Where it all began
The 22nd century, the far future from today and with a century of progression, man has made tremendous leaps in scientific advancements with a wide range of clean energy fuels, flying hovercraft vehicles and likewise. The smaller towns and suburbs remained on ground level, which were mixed in together with grassy patches and green spaces to make sure that citizens lived in a very balanced environment between nature and civilisation. Many neighbourhoods had grassy lawns, hedges, trees or flowery bushes in their gardens and the houses themselves….were far different from the present age. Most of which were oddly shaped to resemble those looking like UFOs and space ships, and a number of them had patches on them adept for spurring the growth of plants to ensure a sustainable living environment for both people and nature. Some gardens had automated sprinkler systems like the present but on contrast some of them often had robots of various shapes, sizes and colors tending to trimming the hedges to keep them neat or to ensure that pets like dogs or cats didn't wander out too far from their respective homes and ahead on the streets were either people cycling, walking along the sidewalks or driving on unusual battery powered cars which could be recharged at any household plug like many appliances thus eliminating the need for fossil fuels.
The people needed such a lifestyle, as high above standing on huge unstacked platforms on massive pillars that held up huge cities which were almost like islands in the sky above! Many buildings were tall no doubt but also in unusual shapes and designs too, with long connectors stretching out from some skyscrapers to another with people travelling inside trains controlled by magnetic fields which helped move them from one station to another. Blimps carrying hug advertising screens which flashed ads on them floated slowly between islands or within the city so that people could get a good look at them no matter whether they were down below in the suburbs or high up in the tops! When crossing from city island to another, flying cars or jets (Smaller sizes for 1 driver or even a child to use, to larger models to hold families and even sharp streamline versions equivalent to modern day sports car hinting a sense of style and class still existed even in the future) were used as transport as people went about their daily activities of work and routine. It was any present day person's dream come true, something only most children could think of.
Despite this futuristic city and the many rapid developments made to reach this point, there were still some concepts of the older days that remained. Those that still have interests in the past and the days of before, understanding their roots or life on the planet before today which lead up to this moment in history. And this story begins in the year 2126, at a certain dig site far off in Hell's creek which lay below some rocky mounds, a site that was once a dried up lake, where ancient animals no doubt came to drink in the ancient past making it a prime spot for fossil hunters to dig up secrets about the past.
There, a pair of palaeontologists, Dr Ancient and his wife Cretacia, were excavating a number of fossil fragments which they were able to uncover along with their team of androids who were there to help with unloading heavy equipment or dig through hard bedrock which human hands wouldn't be capable of achieving. Their team was small but no doubt strong, especially with their butler Jonathan aiding them in mapping out the terrain, scanning for the best possible spots to dig and helping to coordinate the other robots on where to dig. Ancient himself was a dinosaur enthusiast from a young age and strived to become a palaeontologist in the hopes of uncovering more of the prehistoric past even in this futuristic age, something which not many had as much interest in when the main focus was on technology and machines. Yet it was this love for prehistory which inspired Cretacia, who once began as his assistant, to slowly bond with him at their many digs together till she managed to make discoveries of her own that rivalled his own, till they eventually decided to get married.
They had plenty of great experiences together discovering new species together in almost every corner of the globe from the scorching desert sands to even deep beneath the sea. With the advanced technology of their time there was nowhere they could not go to search out new fossils and each new discovery they made drove them to continue diving deeper and deeper into both their research and the earth's ancient prehistory. For to them, bones were like a window into the past to see what life was like on their planet before humans took the mantle as the current dominant species. Everyday was like an adventure for them as new discoveries awaited them buried within the crust of the earth. However, on this very day, they would soon make a discovery that would soon set in motion a series of events to unfold that would change not just the world but the entire universe altogether forever. The moment the married couple uncovered what appeared to be an oddly shaped round stone, with 3 coloured circles in the centre (Red, blue and yellow), along with 6 symbols all around it.
"Ah! It's some sort of lithograph!" Ancient gasped with surprise with his wife as the rest of their team gathered around at the edge of the excavation pit, even Jonathan himself despite being an android couldn't help but mirror their amazement as he stared agape.
"In all our years of palaeontology and research, we've never come across anything like this….." said Ancient as he slowly reached into the pit and took hold of the stone circle. Carefully using a small pick he chipped away at the remaining rock holding onto their find, making sure not to scratch it before finally dislodging it from the stone bed. The entire lot of them gathered around to get a good look at it at all angles, despite it being small and hand held in size their intuition was telling them this was priceless beyond imagining. It was almost like a fossil yet seems unlike than anything than they found, maybe even an OOPART of some kind.
"Think we could have made a new discovery?" Cretacia asked with curiosity, while she'd usually burst into excitement every time they discovered something never before seen, this time around her usual happy go lucky instincts were kept in check, as her husband narrowed his eyes.
"We'd better get back to the lab and study this more closely." He said as his wife nodded.
"Agreed."
Turning to their butler behind them, "Jonathan, get the transports ready, we are clearing out and going home." Ancient ordered.
Understanding what to do without anymore words needed, "As you command sir." Jonathan bowed obediently as he gestured with his hands for the remaining robots to begin packing up as they loaded their equipment and finds into their nearby flying vehicles, "I'll also contact Seth to get the lab ready for analysis." He said at the end as he got into the driver seat of their own hovercraft, followed by both Ancient and Cretacia as he plotted a course back home in the city.
(Later that day)
Upon returning to the laboratory, Jonathan began to coordinate with the other androids in unloading their other fossil finds they had to the nearby museum and research facility for the other researchers and scientists to look over.
Meanwhile the Ancients at their lab, which was lined with atom shaped computers and research materials, looked over the stone circle, now kept in an unusual cylindrical shaped capsule which had a number of conduits which began charging with electricity.
"Energy readings are stable Dr Ancient." Said Seth monotonously in the far back of the lab as he began inputting commands into his control module which began sending energy into the scanning device so that they could gain an understanding of the stone's corporal structure and hopefully determine its' origin, given standard studying techniques wouldn't cut it this time around.
To their amazement, as the electricity began to surge through the stone, it soon glowed in bright light before an image appeared before them all! They all saw what looked like a small window through time, showing various species of dinosaurs as though they were staring back at them in real time (Tyrannosaurus, megaraptor, triceratops, utahraptor among them)!
"AH!" Both Ancient and Cretacia gasped in surprise, meanwhile Seth, not showing any signs of emotion, remained calm and observed on the surface, but inside he too was just as bewildered at the sight of this unexpected development.
"What is this!?" Ancient breathed, as many voices began to speak through them, rendering them all speechless beyond belief.
"Please help us!"
"Help us!"
"Please!"
The 3 scientists gathered in the room could only stare in utter disbelief as the voice continued to speak.
"We have suffered hardships for a very long time before finally settling on this earth and living in peace." From what they could understand, it could possibly mean about how the dinosaurs had to endure many challenges that the world threw at them in life, as times changed they had to migrate, adapt or perish yet the dinosaurs managed to survive all that and lived on. But what they would soon witness would change everything. "And now we are afraid once again. Something terrible is about to happen, unless we do something about it!" The vision then shifted to a giant asteroid racing on a collision course with the earth itself, coming in to wipe out the dinosaurs as it crashed into the earth, blacking out the skies and drowning the world in a sea of flame and death. "The sky, the ocean, the land and all life on this earth will perish."
Ancient gritted his teeth in anger while Cretacia frowned with sadness, feeling heartbroken at the tragedy the dinosaurs had to endure. They along with many palaeontologists made many theories about how the dinosaurs became extinct, but to finally see the answer first hand from actual witnesses that experienced them first hand….this may have been one of the times they wished their questions would never be answered.
"Please help us….You have to!" The voice pleaded once more as the meteor made contact with the earth itself, blanketing the blue planet in a sea of fire and darkness! "You have to….help us! Please!"
Bewildered by what they just witnessed, the pair stared in disbelief for a few moments before snapping back to reality and looking towards one another.
"Could they…..be dinosaurs?" Ancient wondered out loud.
"I think so…." Cretacia replied just as amazed as her husband was, wondering how it could be possible to begin with. "It's possible we're hearing what they were feeling as they approached extinction." Through their minds came many thoughts as they tried to process everything they just witnessed. From a scientific point of view, nothing in the fossil record since the beginning of dinosaur discovery could ever explain or account what they saw firsthand, all this while they thought dinosaurs to be animals like those of today, but apparently they were capable of so much more. How could this be the case, there was no logic they could use to explain it.
That aside, one thing was made clear to them both as they turned serious, having came to a decision together, "There must be something we can do for them!" said Ancient determinedly.
"You're right!" Cretacia agreed with him 100 percent. It was clear they both were in full agreement to do whatever it took to help the dinosaurs and were ready to immediately take action, though there was a problem with that, "But…..what can we do?" Cretacia then placed a finger to her chin in thought as her husband folded his arms.
"Good question there….." He grunted in annoyance, fact the dinosaurs are already dead now it it was pretty much too late for them….but still after what he saw first hand he just couldn't accept it.
Suddenly Cretacia brightened up and smiled, "I know! Maybe we could bring them back from the dead by reviving or even cloning them from their DNA!" She cried out raising out her arm with excitement.
Hearing that suggestion made Ancient sweat drop uneasily, "That's an….interesting idea there honey…." He grimaced before shaking his head in disagreement, "But if I can be honest it's rather unrealistic since we don't even have the slightest idea how to do that….not to mention their DNA has no doubt degraded heavily to the point it won't be enough to recreate them like animals today…." He said making his point logically. His wife while she may come up with wild and fantastical ideas that were unrealistic for a scientist, as a person that was part of her charm which made him love her all the more.
Cretacia pouted before lowering her head in sadness, "You're right I suppose…." She sighed before realising if the dinosaurs did have souls, it would be like pulling them out from heaven and disturbing their peaceful rest, "Now that I think about it sounds almost like necromancy and voodoo…." She muttered to herself before gulping, "Plus if something went wrong maybe we could end up with dino zombies running loose over the world…." She thought to herself at the end as she shivered having remembered some horror movies she watched in the past and last thing she wanted was to dabble in forces beyond comprehension.
As the both of them continued to think it over, eventually an idea hatched in Dr Ancient's mind, an idea that would soon set in motion what would soon be a second Noah's Ark project.
Dr Ancient opened his eyes and clapped his fist into his hand as he came up with a brilliant idea, "I know! We could travel through time itself!"
"We can go back using a time machine right before they went extinct and save them from their impending doom!?"
"Say what!? A time machine!?" Cretacia gasped in surprise before recollecting herself, for a few seconds before laughing out humorously, "Hahahaha! Now that's a good one honey! And here I thought you didn't have a sense of humour like me." She laughed as she wiped away a tear from her eye and tried to catch her breath.
"No dear, I'm serious this time!" Dr Ancient replied seriously as he brought her to the computer screens which depicted various energy wavelengths being recorded from the stone. "Take a look see? With these readings we just may be able to retrace the dinosaurs' very own memories through time just as they sent their message to us here with these stones." He explained before typing on the keyboard which depicted a simulation where a portal in time could be generated by using the power of the stones themselves, "We can follow them back to their time and with enough energy and the right means we can create a portal in time to return to the ancient world where they came from!"
Pushing up her glasses and taking a closer look, "Huh….now that you mention it….." It was clear as crystal, the numbers didn't lie and checked out perfectly. She couldn't believe it as she took a few steps back in utter disbelief, looking to the screens and to her husband repeatedly a couple of times, "It just….may be possible! Oh honey you're such a genius!" She cheered joyously leaping onto Ancient, embracing him with a big hug and kissing on the cheeks lovingly which made him blush red.
"Ehehe…." He laughed with embarrassment before freeing himself from her tight grip as he looked back at the readings, "Still….there could be risks like what if something went wrong with the procedure….Plus to put together a machine to travel through the boundaries of space and time itself….the calculations….along with the energy it would take to power such a machine….." He thought out loud as the screens depicted the levels needed to reach optimum peak performance and the cost of acquiring the materials needed to put together the equipment and machinery capable of running it all. "And we can't account forget about the potential risks…." Worrying if they didn't tread carefully they could change history for the worse, rarely if humans intervened in nature things turned out for the better.
His wife nodded in full agreement, "Yeah it'd be on a scale like no other….Which is why we will need to proceed with upmost caution as we'd be treading on unexplored territory here….both scientifically and physically…." As Cretacia looked closer, knowing there were many tests and simulations to do, also with what limited knowledge they have on hand regarding the dinosaurs, behaviour and the ancient world, plus needing to secure the means to bring them back somehow.
Considering the potential unknown dangers in the ancient world, the option opening a portal to bring the dinosaurs to their own world could be more risky for if such a portal in time was opened for too long who knows the side effects and repercussions . So that left them with the decision to travel to the dinosaurs instead of bringing the dinosaurs to them. While harder and longer it would be safer in the long run.
"If we're going to save the dinosaurs from extinction we'll need to bring them back to the present and I mean lots of them…..not to mention how many of them are already supersized…." Cretacia folded her arms in thought wondering the kinds of vehicles they'd need to transport them back.
"We may need to call in a lot of friends to help us with this." Ancient thought out loud as he prepared to head for the phones and contact his many associates for their support, his wife suddenly grabbed his shoulder stopping him.
"Actually, I think it's better we keep our circle of trust close and small there." Cretacia suggested out of caution and in a serious tone, "I worry that if too many were to hear of this imagine the public craze that would develop if they were to hear of time travel being possible. If word gets out I can only imagine the kinds of people who'd want to get their hands on and monopolise this for their own benefit." She then sighed and folded her arms, "Not only that, it's possible that many of them may not take this seriously and it could make the both of us a laughing stock among the scientific community." She muttered.
"You….make a good point there Cretacia." Ancient replied understandingly, only those inside this very room would know this very secret so they'd have to pick their aids most carefully. She did make a good point that they would need to only reach out to those whom he felt could be trusted best with this information but also have the ability to truly help them as well. As Ancient folded his arms in thought, "Hmm for a project of this massive scale, it would seem I'd have to call in an old friend of mine from a while back." He said to himself as he began to realise the only man that he wouldn't think to ever include, but their best chance yet given his vast array of resources
It was at that moment Cretacia realised whom her husband was considering as she widened her eyes and protested, "Oh no! Not a chance! Out of the question!" she yelled frantically crossing her arms, "We are not letting Dr Z in on this important mission! No way! No how! It's like handing over a laser pistol to a kid who spent too long playing shooting games, he'd go completely bonkers and mess up the whole project the second we end up the other side!" She screamed unwilling to spend even a single second with the quack pot of a doctor who'd be giving bad names to all hard working genuine geniuses out there.
Her husband however was rather optimistic at the time, "Oh come on now Cretacia. He can't be that bad. He's come through for us when we needed it you know it." Ancient waved out his arms and sweat dropping trying to calm down her overreactive imagination, "Plus I thought you liked people who were strange, wacky and unpredictable?"
She huffed taking offence at his words, "Hmph! I have standards you know." She replied, "True I'm rather partial with people and situations like you described, but Dr Z's level is like looney, nuts and uncontrollable! Surely you can't forget what happened last month when he tried tinkering around with Jonathan!" She cried out which made Ancient sweat drop once more.
"I'll admit you're not wrong there….." He reluctantly replied as there was a certain memory he could remember all too well the last time they invited Dr Z and his assistants Ursula, Zander and Ed over for tea time a while back when his grandkids Rod and Laura were really young.
Without Ancient's permission and knowhow, he somehow managed to convince Jonathan to implant in a few custom designed upgrades he put together just so he could be a better butler and bodyguard for his master…..only for the mild mannered android to suddenly short circuit and go haywire as he ended up rampaging through the house and smashing through rooms and walls before firing a small missile from his hand which blew a hole through their roof, which then took Helga at her very best to restrain and knock him out of commission before they had to remove said 'improvements'. That incident got Dr Z and his lot banned from their home for an entire month.
Nevertheless, Dr Ancient's options were still rather limited and as he hated to admit it, Dr Z was his best choice, "Still this could be a chance for him to earn our forgiveness if he behaves and comes through." He added not having given up on his old friend, "Plus we can't deny he has some strong points like his skill in engineering and not to mention his access to plenty of resources both material and financial. Plus he knows about dinosaurs longer than I have so we may need some of his expertise and understanding when we encounter the real thing."
Despite remembering Dr Z's reputation for being rather….radical, he couldn't forget the fact that the old man was a renowned palaeontologist in the past during his younger days, back when he himself was a boy. Some of his passionate research into dinosaurs was what inspired him to become a palaeontologist himself, only that he kept more to safety standards and didn't dig in very hostile environments like the old man did such as in national parks like the Grand Canyon or even down at the South pole!
Nowadays Dr Z's name disappeared from much of the paleontology records and awards ever since he shifted to engineering, since the discovery of a rare and special metal which he came across in some mines years back while looking for new dino bones in more dangerous environments. That very metal soon gave rise to many of the robots and devices used in the world today. A metal he dubbed alpha metal, which he named personally out of his own ego since it meant as the first and being at the top and unrivalled, which was something he strived for. That metal along with several inventions he developed also made him a very rich man himself, though several of which he needed Ancient's help to perfect as much of what he put together ended up exploding or falling apart, though despite him taking all the credit every time much to Cretacia's ire, Ancient himself didn't mind too much since he felt he deserved his moment of glory for coming up with the ideas in the first place.
Cretacia soon came to remember Dr Z's own past achievements along with recalling he had access to plenty of advanced equipment and vehicles they would need to traverse unknown lands, "Hmm….well beggars can't be choosers I suppose…." She sighed conceding reluctantly, rubbing her temple and wishing that his current self would be the same as his younger self, the man he used to be was respectable especially with how he adopted 4 kids from an orphanage and raised them up well….at least one out of the 4 who became a father himself and has 2 kids of his own while the remaining 3 remained by his side to look after him in his old senile age….pitying their cruel fates. Though given his age hopefully they could just wait a few more years then they'd finally be free of him and his overbearing antics. Then again for a man he still was a child at heart who was passionate about dinosaurs he never outgrew them even at his old age, so the opportunity to travel back in time would be a dream come true for him, all the more reason he would be the best choice for this project.
Soon the both of them realised they weren't the only ones in the room, as they turned to behind to see their assistant was still present in the room, all this while and he hadn't said a word or added any bit of input the whole time as if he was tuned out and became completely unnoticeable till now.
"Oh Seth!" Cretacia yelped in surprise and also feeling guilty for not noticing or including him in their discussion sooner.
Even Ancient was embarrassed by this oversight as he scratched his head and looked away feeling ashamed, "Sorry we…..almost forgot you were still here."
"No offence taken sir." Seth simply replied sounding almost uncaring about it.
"Say Seth." Cretacia then spoke up getting his attention, "You've been rather quiet this whole while."
"Why yes," Ancient added in agreement, "We thought you'd be just as speechless and amazed as we were regarding this tremendous discovery." They had expected him to show more enthusiasm as much as they are, or even add in his input or ideas as well, but instead they were met with a rather blank expression and silence from him, much like he has been all the time.
"I'm….merely just thinking to myself Dr Ancient, trying to process everything we just witnessed." Seth simply replied as he looked towards the stone circle, despite being not as expressive as his superiors, deep down he was speechless as they both are over their discovery regarding the dinosaur race. Just that he didn't show it firsthand believing himself to be above that, though deep down something was awakening within….a certain zeal or ambition of his own….
"Oh come on Seth, lighten up will you?" Cretacia suddenly said cheerily as she ran up to pat him on the shoulder interrupting him, "You won't have many friends that way if you don't get with the program!" She sang which only made their blue haired assistant frown with annoyance as he let out a light huff in response.
"Oh just let him be Cretacia." said Ancient as he pulled her away, "Seth has been a hardworking, devoted and honest assistant for a long time now. His help on many of our expeditions and research has helped us achieve many scientific breakthroughs especially about dinomond amber and how they could contain potential sources of renewable and clean energy." He hadn't forgotten the day when he was doing a lecture at a certain university that a younger teenage Seth stood up after the talk and wished to learn more and even work under him, hoping to experience fossil hunting and seeing dinosaur hunting expeditions in the field so he could maybe gain a better understanding of them first hand if even a little. Since then he showed a natural gift in identifying even subtle differences in bone structures and other key points even Ancient was unable to see and that enabled them to make new ground breaking facts on certain species or even make new discoveries of their own, "No need to force him to do anything that would make him uncomfortable." He said defending his trusted assistant who seemed to settle down a little more, out of gratitude.
"I guess so dear….though still it wouldn't hurt if he tried to be a bit more sociable….." sighed Cretacia shrugging her shoulders before turning to their trusted and gifted assistant with a light smile, "Still, can we both trust you on this too Seth?" She asked with hope.
In response Seth simply nodded, "Yes, you have my word I will help support you both in every step of the way." With that, a small smile appeared on his own face, "Maybe even make this 'rescue mission' of yours even better than successful too." He added at the end which put a smile on the married couple's faces too.
"Hee hee, now you're starting to show some enthusiasm Seth! Good on you!" Cretacia cheered as she playfully patted him on the back again, which made his smile quickly vanish much to Cretacia's chagrin that the moment was so short lived. To see their gloomy assistant smile was like a once in a blue moon event, oh how she should have treasured it more.
Dr Ancient smiled in amusement at the drama as he began to walk off to get a phone, "Well, perhaps now I'll go make that call to Dr Z right now and let him know about what we just learnt and plan to do." He said.
"Knowing him….he'll be mind blown for sure both metaphorically and literally….though I really hope to see him do the former tee hee!" Cretacia giggled cheekily before sporting her serious mode as she turned to the nearby screen, "Meantime I'll take a closer look at the stone itself to see if we can understand the energy that runs through it. Hopefully by doing so we may be able to perfect this time travel process." She said to herself as she got to work.
As the pair began their respective duties to put together a foolproof plan to save the dinosaurs from extinction, Seth continued to process his own thoughts in his mind as he tried to recollect every single detail he just learnt and witnessed, making sure to leave nothing out. Deep down, he too felt he wanted to do something for the dinosaurs, as seeing living breathing specimens before him even if it was a brief message in what could be considered a primitive form of time capsule, it had already left its impression on him. Feeling a certain drive like no other grow inside him like he never felt before in all his years of studying under Dr Ancient's tutelage and assisting them in their research.
Much like both Ancient and Cretacia, deep down he believed the dinosaurs suffered an unjust and unfair end, after overcoming millions of years of evolution and hardship, becoming the mighty race the people of today saw them as. They were capable of so much more had the asteroid never wiped them all out, maybe even establishing civilisations or social hierarchies that surpassed all of humanity's accomplishments! Seeing how they were united together no matter their differences in species and somehow created the stone they saw before them and send a message to the future which has now been received. Perhaps if they were to be saved as the Ancients hoped to do, maybe they would get that much needed second chance at life they deserved….wouldn't they? It was soon that Seth came to a realisation as he widened his eyes coming to a truth he hadn't realised yet.
If the dinosaurs were to be brought back into the world as it is now….they could suffer a fate worse than extinction, reduced to nothing than mere pack mules or slaves to the unworthy. Knowing humans as they were now, with mankind's short history paling in comparison to them and their predictable tendencies to be trapped in patterns of their own short sighted and selfish nature. Such as desiring war and the inequality in many places even today in the far future. Seth could just imagine dinosaurs being seen merely as other animals in the modern world of today should they be brought back now, and to see them kept in a mere zoo like a common lion….or worse used as workhorses like cattle or elephants…..He just couldn't accept that one bit.
"Hey Seth!" Cretacia called out to him which snapped him out of his thoughts, "I could use your help in understanding what these energy wavelength patterns could mean." She said pointing at a graph appearing on a screen showing fluctuating levels of energy, "Maybe you might be able to see something I can't."
He was mildly annoyed at being interrupted but soon put aside his personal feelings for the moment and nodded obediently, "Yes….I will get right to it." He replied as he walked next to her to see what her data was depicting. Still, there was one thing Cretacia was right about, he could see something that neither she nor her husband could. As Seth continued to think long and hard, no doubt Dr Ancient and Cretacia weren't looking at the big picture as he was now, nor could they realise the potential they had to surpass humans in every way. He just had to get them and everyone else to see and realise that, only then….could people accept dinosaurs for what they really are. This he swore to himself to make sure no matter what.
I never thought I would get back into writing so here we are. My idea for this is to explore the 6 months that occurred prior to the beginning of season 1 as to how the dinosaurs and cards the D Team used and bonded with came to be thanks to the efforts of Dr Ancient, Cretacia and Dr Z. Here I hoped to explain the events how the married couple eventually decided on the time machine and how they had Seth as their assistant all this while. As stated in episode 45 Tricks of the traitor, where it all began with a simple fossil dig like any other which would set in motions events to come.
I even decided to give Seth a light backstory too and this was before his mad ambitions came to be. I liked to imagine him as gifted in what he does in his research but still never had the full drive for anything worthy of his talents since for a while he served as an assistant to aid in understanding mere bones but never knowing the full truth….till seeing the message given by the stones and dinosaur souls which began to light a spark within him seeing they were capable of much. One that made him believe he would be helping the dinosaurs to achieve the potential they were unfairly robbed of due to the asteroid that wiped them out. Many villains often start out having good intentions but became misguided which is what I hope to bring for Seth here, not that I sympathise with him, just hoping to flesh him out more on what his origins could have been.
As for Dr Z, I always wondered how he has so much money back in the past, when his bank accounts would not have existed but won't question the show. Way I see it given he was a palaeontologist as stated by Jonathan in Tricks of the traitor, then how he has some engineering and understanding of robotics I like to assume he discovered the rare metal the Alpha gang used for their machines and robots. Also with all the food they had at their base I would like to assume Dr Z and his side provided much of the funding, raw materials and supplies for their long trip. Will even try to go over other events here and there from his end if I can such as how he developed the first move card or the secret dinosaurs. Overall while we know Seth and Dr Z being enemies to Dr Ancient later I'd like to assume before time travel they may have been on good terms with Seth being more quiet and introverted and Dr Z being just enthusiastic, neither of them having any malicious intent….yet.
Stay tuned for what is to come and hope you enjoy this. Will welcome help time to time and maybe even a few ideas on how some of the many dinosaurs may have been caught or found, feel free to PM me and will see what I can try to include though I have several in mind at the moment.
