It was a calm night. Ruki would sit in her room chatting with her lover and Renamon would aid in washing the dishes. Aside from the usual couple talk, a few choice words concerning Renamon's situation would travel between Ruki and Takato. Yet the former wouldn't yet relay to him that she'd confessed to it being true. A few of her words seemed to hint that, but Takato still wasn't completely sure. In the last moments before each member of the Makino household retired for the night, each noticed Renamon's improved mood. She still wasn't talking much, but didn't sulk as much as she had prior and occasionally spoke unprompted. This the others with varying degrees of hope for her. Most prominent of them was Ruki. She would rest after her mother and grand mother. She had something important to address first. "Hey." Ruki said lightly grabbing Renamon's arm. "You look a little better now, but I need to know if you feel better?" Renamon sighed. "There's still a lot of my mind, Ruki. I do feel better, but my mind keeps wondering." "Wondering huh?" Yes and..." "It's him against, isn't it?" Renamon conceded as she nodded. "Knew it." "I guess you did, Ruki." "Why don't you go and see him now?" "..." "I don't know if you're as tired as the rest of us. I'd rather you sleep, but right now you look like you couldn't if you tried." Renamon paused to think. She was right, she was too restless to sleep. "Perhaps." "Perhaps? Fuck that. If you think you have enough strength, do it. If not, I have a bunch of energy drinks in a fridge, including the stuff you like." "Oh..." Ruki pulled Renamon into a hug. "Just promise me you'll be careful and don't keep him a secret for too long." "Of course, but Ruki?" "Yeah?" "It's hmmm...complicated." "What relationship ISN'T?" Renamon sighed. "Its that but so much more." "How?" "I'll tell you in time, I promise." For a few more minutes the two chatted. Ruki never explicitly stated who she speculated Renamon's signifciant other to be, but she gave hints to different Digimon she knew. Renamon expected her to be more blunt, but not this time. Perhaps it was Ruki's way of respecting her privacy. Regadless Renamon would search for her preferred flavour of caffeine and depart soon after. "You got this." Said Ruki just before her friend vanished.
Enough was enough. Once certain that his family was sound asleep, Jenrya dressed himself to leave. Night hours be damned. If he needed coffee, he'd get it. If he needed a taxi, he'd order one. A very tired Terrimon would look to see his friend grab his coat. "Jiannn." Jenrya looked back. "Yeah, Terriermon?" "Good luck." The little one said followed by his trademark "momentai" which he said in a deep yawn before laying down in his friend's bed. "Thanks buddy." His friend replied before quietly leaving the room and exiting his home. Renamon was several steps ahead of him being both faster and having left earlier than he did. To his misfortune, getting a ride still wasn't easy. He couldn't risk taking the family car and taxi services seemed as busy as ever. He browsed through a myriad of the options via his phone while frantically walking forward with a canned coffee in his hand. Plenty could slow him down, but nothing would stop him. Nothing. With about as much if not more caffeine running through her body than that of Jernya, Renamon rushed forward as fast as she could. Darting from shadow to shadow she ran. From each empty street to dark corner, she pushed on. Jenrya gripped his phone tighter. Had the strength of his grip been any stronger, it may have damaged or even destroyed his phone. Eventually, he found the solution he wanted. Yet it mattered little. He'd found an ideal service for picking him up from the point he was. Yet his mind would be ripped away from any such idea when he saw her.
There stood Renamon mere metres away from him. She would briefly step into the the rays cast down from a street light before slipping away with a beckoning wave of her paw. He didn't care about anything else. He resisted the urge to yell her name and ran forward carelessly dropping his empty can. For a moment, his vision went totally dark. When he woke up, he found himself on an unfamiliar surface next to Renamon. I They were on a bench of the opposite side of a road near a small convince store They were perfectly out of sight of many, yet had just enough light from where they were to mostly see each other fine. "Jen...no, Jiangliang." Her romantic companion blinked. The way she purred his full first name appealed to him. The sadness in her voice that followed did not. "There's something I must tell you." Jenrya's hands shook for a moment showed he was clearly bothered by something. He simply couldn't help speaking first. "I'm sorry." He said. Two plain words managed to hold more than their fair weight of genuine emotion. "You...what?" Confused looks were exchanged between them. She put a paw to her chest and moved closer to face him. "Those are my words, you know. I'm very sorry." "Nah, Renamon. I messed up so it's okay." "No, it isn't". The two of them would find something new to argue about, which was more guilty for the recent events. Yet it also helped the two realise how silly it was, how silly all of the arguing was. Arguing soon turned to shared laughter. They would exchange apologies one more time before their chat went it's usual route, recent happenings, flirting and the well being of the other. Hearts were healing. Neither could say their feelings for each other had returned, because frankly, it never left. The hours would come and go and neither wanted to leave the other. Sadly, it was inevitable. They each said their goodbyes but not before sharing a kiss. To date it was, by far, the most enjoyable kiss they had since their first. Each wanted to be more daring but this was neither the time nor place. So they simply said their goodbyes. The following day each of them would wake up considerably later than each usually did, yet both wore their own expressions of peace of mind and satisfaction. Their respective partners noticed this immediately. The two lovers would have another noteworthy clash less than 3 weeks later, but this resolved it self far more quickly than the previous argument.
