"Back to work. Let's go!"
"I'm still tired. Just a bit longer."
Dressed and ready to go, Olivia leaned over Fitz still in bed as he whined that he needed more sleep. She'd let him convince her to take the Labor Day holiday weekend off including the Friday before and she was more than ready to get back to her desk. Still refusing to get up, Liv pulled the blankets off of him and tossed them to the floor before straddling his lap.
"Up, up, up! I told you this would happen if you didn't go to bed at a decent time."
"I didn't hear you complaining last night. If I recall correctly your exact words were 'No! Don't Stop! Don't Stop, Fitz!'" he imitated her yelling from the night before.
"Keep it up, I'm sure you'll enjoy the couch and no sex for a month."
"Oh someone hasn't had her coffee yet," Fitz smiled as he put his hands over the tops of her thighs. "Grouch. Now are you going to get off me so I can get up or do we need to hike this skirt up?"
Liv flew off him quick as she could, not wanting to rile him up for another round of sex before work. "I'm off! Hurry up or I'm not going to let you drive the Spider."
"I'm up!" Fitz yelled getting off the bed. "Ten minutes and I'll be ready to go."
Waiting for him to be ready, Olivia called in the order to Huck for their breakfast. Getting her lipstick on she felt Fitz grab her by the waist before she saw him in the mirror.
"Finally!"
Heading out of the apartment to the elevator, Liv hit the basement level for the car lot. "That's where the Spider is?" Fitz asked her when she hit a different button than usual.
"That's where all my cars are."
"All? How many do you have exactly?"
"I'm not actually sure. I have five down here in this garage. But there's others around." Stepping out of the elevator, she led Fitz over to her area of the garage. Looking around he saw several other sports cars that others owned. "I usually have Lucas drive me wherever I need to go but on occasion I will drive myself." Taking him over to the far corner of the underground lot, she hit the button on the keyring to unlock it. "Wrong key, that's the Speedfast." Digging through her purse she looked over to see Fitz's eyes wide. "What's wrong?"
"What… Do… Liv? Do you know what this is?" he asked standing in front of another car.
"Um, a car?"
"A car? It's more than a car! It's the new Lamborghini Sian Roadster. These aren't even available in the US. Someone must have had it brought over from Europe."
Searching through her purse again, Liv found another set. "Hey," she called to get his attention. "We can take that instead of the Spider. You drive," she told him handing him the keys.
"Sorry, what? This is yours? You own a Lamborghini and two Ferraris?"
"Don't act so surprised. I like going fast too. Now can we please go? You can admire the cars later." Getting in, she loved the huge smile he had on his face as he got behind the wheel.
"Any other fabulous secrets that you're keeping from me?"
"They aren't secrets. You just didn't ask."
Fitz looked over at her as he started the car. "That's all I have to do? Ask you?"
"I'm not a mind reader. I don't know what you want to know or if you want to know anything at all. Ask a question and I would answer it if I can. Stop over at the coffee shop, Huck has our order ready."
Driving up, he let Liv out at the front door and waited for her as he played with the radio.
"You let him drive it? You never let me drive any of them!" Huck shouted as she walked in.
"Because Kim would kill me if I let you."
"Sure, blame my wife when it's all your decisions. How's it drive?"
"Perfect. I have to go but we need to talk about Javi's birthday."
"Call Kim. She's making the plans."
Kissing his cheek as she took the bag from him, she turned and walked out. "Huck is jealous that you're driving the car. I don't let him drive any of them."
"He has a kid. He shouldn't be driving fast cars. I'll drive it for him," Fitz laughed as he pulled away.
Liv kept herself busy through the morning at the office trying to catch up on work from the past four days. Ever since Fitz put in the rule that she was only allowed to work on extremely urgent matters at home, she threw herself into getting things done during the workday. Making the reports for the board meeting next week, she caught herself looking through the window to Fitz every few minutes. How is it that only a month of dating that man and he has turned my world upside down? How did I let that happen? Realizing the time, Liv stopped what she was working on and went to the coat closet pulling out one of his ties before going to his office.
"And where are you sending me now?" Fitz smiled seeing her stand in the doorway with a new tie in hand.
"Court. You have a divorce to work through," she told him as she walked around to him. Before she could wrap the tie around his collar, he pulled her onto his lap and kissed her. "I will not be the cause of you being late."
"Come with me."
"Uh, that's a big no. This is all you. The last thing I want to deal with today is your wife and Richards. I'm out for that."
"Soon to be ex-wife," Fitz corrected her. "And what do you have against James? He seems to miss seeing you. He's been asking how you are."
"I don't want to deal with him right now." Making his tie straight, she read the sigh in his face before she heard it. "Don't do that. Mellie doesn't like me and if I'm there all she's going to do is throw a tantrum. James Richards doesn't need to see her doing that either."
"You said all I had to do was ask you, and you would tell me. I asked. And you aren't telling."
Sliding off his lap, Liv grabbed his briefcase and put a few files in it. "While you're down there, give these to the clerk. They will have others that you need to pick up."
"Avoiding the question isn't going to make me stop asking."
"Fitz, I don't want to answer you, alright? James is your friend and he's handling your divorce. I think that's as much as you need to know right now. Henry is waiting downstairs for you."
"What? I can't take the Roadster?"
"Over my dead body are you taking that car anywhere near your 'soon to be ex-wife'. She is not going to key that baby."
"Fine, I'll take Henry. See you in a bit?"
Liv stood up and kissed him on the lips with a smile before walking him out of her office. "I'll be here."
While Fitz went to deal with Mellie, Liv texted with Kim about Javi's birthday party. His soccer theme party was getting planned and ready for the next month. Olivia didn't care what it was, if Javi wanted it, he was getting it. Both Kim and Huck had tried to convince her that she didn't need to spoil him, but Liv would do what she wanted to do. No amount of fighting with her was going to make her stop. Sending pictures back and forth with Kim, they found the place and Liv booked it immediately. Putting in several more hours of work, she finally realized it was after five and still hadn't seen Fitz yet. Calling his cell phone several times, he didn't pick up. Waiting another hour for him, Liv called Henry, but he hadn't seen him since he dropped Fitz off at the courthouse. After some thought, she tracked his phone and headed down to the car to get him.
"Fitz Grant?" Walking into the gym, Liv found the receptionist at the front desk who pointed her over to the ring. Standing beside the boxing ring as she watched Fitz punch his opponent over and over again until he hit the ground, she waited for a break before speaking. "Is there any particular reason you are beating the hell out of him?"
Hearing her voice, Fitz called time and went to the side where she was. "What are you doing here?"
"Looking for you. You didn't come back to the office and didn't answer my calls. Tracked you here," she told him as she stepped in the ring. "Court didn't go well?"
"Not at all. That soul sucking bitch wants everything. I'm not giving it to her," he shook his head before looking at her. "What the hell are you doing?"
Taking the pair of boxing gloves from the man who just left the ring and slipping them on, she clapped them together. "Show me what you've got," she told him and stood a few feet in front of him. "What does she want?"
"The house, her car, alimony, and several… would you stop bouncing around? You have no idea what you're doing in here. And you're going to break another ankle in those damn heels."
Liv smirked and knocked his shoulder. "What did Richards say?"
"That I need to show evidence why she shouldn't get a dime," he told her taking a few steps back. She followed after him and hit him a couple times. "Olivia. Knock it off."
"No, I'm going to knock you out. Come on, you can take your frustration out on me. Come on, hit me."
"I'm not going to hit you."
"Wimp. Why not?"
"Because I'm not going to hit my girlfriend."
"I'm not your girlfriend right now. Pretend I'm Mellie. I spent ten years of my life with you and now you owe me, Fitzgerald." Liv rounded him again and popped his leg, ducking down. "You don't have it in you to be anything but a pathetic lawyer who does what daddy says," she quoted back to him.
Clenching his fists when he heard that statement, Fitz started to get even more upset. "Olivia, I'm warning you. I don't want to hear another word about it."
"Why? Because you think she's right? Is Mellie right? All you can do is follow daddy's orders and bow down? Be a worthless son and husband and lawyer?" Furious with her words, Fitz came towards her, punching the corner he backed her into several times closer to her head. Satisfied with his reaction, she took her gloves off and tossed them aside. "Better?"
"Why would you do that?"
"Because it's what you needed. Boxing it out with some guy who doesn't understand what's going through your head isn't going to help you. But I know what you have running through your head because I've heard her tell you awful things. I've been there with you for eight months. And I can get you into the headspace where the anger is."
"How do you know I wouldn't hit you?"
"Oh, please. You'd never hit me, and you'd never hit Mellie, though she would deserve it. Fitz, look at me." Shaking his head, he refused to look at her and put his gloves down. Liv grabbed his face and forced him to look at her with one hand. "Look. At. Me." Finally looking down at her, she held the smile on her face and pulled him by the shirt right against her. "She's wrong. On everything. You don't do anything that Jerry tells you to do. You are an outstanding son. You are a terrific husband. You are a kickass lawyer. You are a fantastic boyfriend. You are a damn good lover. You are a great friend. You are a fabulous boss. Do you want me to keep going? Cause we could be here all night."
Fitz closed his arms around her and kissed her lips. "You know how to provoke me, and you know how to calm me within five minutes."
"Of course I do. I wouldn't be doing my job as your assistant or as your girlfriend if I didn't. You do know that Mellie is wrong, right? She doesn't know you at all."
"I really need you to stop talking about her right now."
"Why?"
"Because I don't want to be thinking about her when we're having sex tonight."
