"But I want Aunt Liv to come too."

"She can't make it on this trip, bud."

Javier wanted very badly for Olivia to come with them to Seattle. Liv had her driver pick them up at the hospital to go to the airport to board the jet. She had everything put in place within a few hours of getting the okay for the therapy trial. Riding with them, Liv sat with Javi beside her in the back of the car while he pleaded with her to come with them.

"I have to stay here and work but I'm going to Facetime you every day and both Daddy and Mommy are going to call me anytime you want to talk," she hugged him closer. "You'll come home soon, and we can go hang out at the park."

Lucas drove up to the jet and helped Huck get their bags on the plane. While Kim and Liv got Javi settled into his seat and watching tv, Liv promised that she would take care of whatever he needed to Kim and hugged her before stepping off the plane to Huck at the bottom of the steps.

"I can't tell you how much I appreciate this, Liv. Thank you for taking care of all this. I owe you big time when we get back," Huck pulled her in for a tight hug.

"He is my godson; I would do anything for him, or for you and Kim. Just take care of them and yourself. And call me day or night if any of you need anything. I'll get it over to you guys right away."

"You know he's going to want you to fly out to see him."

"I know. I would if I wasn't petrified of flying. But he has both mom and dad with him. Jerry and Verna are going to come out this weekend. She's got some clients she couldn't cancel on."

Huck gave her another grateful hug and got on the jet waving to her. As much as she wanted to be there for them, for Javi especially, she had to get work in line first. She thought about flying out with Jerry and Verna but would decide later.

"I'm back," Liv shouted when she walked in the door of the apartment.

"Everything go okay? Jet left?" Fitz asked, coming from the bedroom.

"They're all set. I've got a car to pick them up at the airport in Seattle and take them to the hotel. They should be good. How was your day at court?"

Fitz sat at the counter watching her move around the kitchen and pour a glass of wine. "Brutal. I can't believe the nerves of some people. He just had to open his damn mouth," he sighed rubbing the back of his neck.

"James?"

"Jake."

"I think you lost me."

"Jake told Mellie that we were sleeping together and that's why you got the job."

"That's absurd! No one would believe that!"

"Mellie did. That's what she's using as emotional distress. Then I told James this was all a revenge plot from Jake to get back at me for you breaking his wrist. James thought that was hilarious: you breaking Jake's wrist." Fitz smiled looking at her and saw the eye roll. "He's got another date set for us to come in."

"For what? Isn't that what today was supposed to be?"

"James want to hear another side of the story."

"There's your side and her side. Add Jake in there for some reason. What more sides are there?"

"Yours."

"Mine? I thought you didn't want me part of this." Liv swallowed the last drop of wine before refilling the glass.

"I don't want you to be part of this mess. James wants to hear what you have to say about our relationship. Probably how it started and when. He wants you in the courtroom before next Friday."

"But you don't want me to be there?" Liv asked him, trying to read his expression.

"I don't. I never wanted you mixed up with this divorce. You don't deserve to be questioned about the lies Jake tells."

"Then I won't go."

"I don't think that's going to be an option. He wants you there by next Friday or he's more than likely going to subpoena you."

Olivia tried to hold back the annoyed groan from her lips but failed. "He can't subpoena me when I'm not a party to the case, right?"

"He can. He's a judge."

"He's James. Fine, I will call him and see what he wants from me. But I'm not getting involved in the divorce itself. I agreed to stay out of it."

After settling her appointments for the day that Friday, Verna and Jerry joined Liv and Fitz for lunch before heading to the airport for them to join Kim and Huck in Seattle. While Fitz helped get their bags and Verna onto the jet, Jerry was able to get a few minutes with Liv alone.

"Fitz told you about the divorce issue this week?"

"He did; James wants to see me, get my side of the story. We both know that's bull shit and why he really wants to see me," Liv crossed her arms leaning against the car. "I did tell Fitz I would not get involved though."

"So, you aren't going?"

"I am, just not going to discuss divorce issues."

"Good. I told Fitz I would ask you, but he wanted me to stay out of it too. He's still pissed off about the money she's being paid. I'm still obligated to pay it until that decree is signed. I'm really needing your help here, Livia. Please just tell that asshole whatever he wants to hear and make him sign off."

Shaking her head, Liv hadn't given any thought to her payments for a while. "I still can't believe that you had been paying her. She's so vile to him."

"Not one of my best moments, I am aware. When are you going to see Richards?"

"In a few hours. I didn't want to put it off any longer than necessary. And the sooner he gets whatever info he's looking for, the sooner he'll sign off on Fitz's divorce."

"Okay, that's good. Be sure you take Fitz with you. I don't want you going alone to talk with him."

"I'll be fine. I'm sure by now he's figured out I will break him."

"I'm serious, Livia. Do not go alone. As strong as you are, you don't be to be subjected to him by yourself."

Feeling a hand on her shoulder, Liv turned to see Fitz behind her. "Everything okay here?"

"Just fine," Jerry gave him a slight smile. "Verna's ready to go?"

"Already on board and waiting for you."

"Wonderful, I'll call you later tonight then."

Giving Jerry a hug, Liv went around the car to get the bag for Javi to give him. Fitz stepped forward to shake his hand, but Jerry moved in to hug him.

"Do not let her out of your sight," he told Fitz who responded with a nod.

Great, now what's she up to? Dad says not to let her out of eye sight? She's definitely hatching something up.

Getting in the car, Liv pulled out her phone telling Huck the jet was about to take off and went through the schedule for the rest of the day. "You'll be back to the office just in time to make your 2:30 meeting."

"Or… we can skip the rest of the day and call it an early weekend. We could go home and spend the weekend lounging around," Fitz smiled trying to win her.

"We'll only be there for a few hours and then we can go home. And we'll spend the entire weekend at home just doing nothing. You've had this appointment for weeks; you can't cancel at the last minute."

"Even if I told them I had a sex emergency?"

"Especially then!" Liv laughed. "I promise you can have a weekend full of sex emergencies."

"Wait, what?! Did I hear you right? Olivia Pope making a promise? I think I had a stroke."

"Haha, I forgot how funny you are not."

Leaning over, Fitz kissed her quick and took hold of her hand. "I'm holding you to that promise."

"I'd be very disappointed if you didn't."

Getting back to the office, she gave him his folders for the clients and sent him on his way. Sending her personal driver a text to come pick her up, Liv continued to work while she waited for Lucas. Writing a note for Fitz, she stuck it on his laptop telling him she would be back in a while and went to run a couple errands. Technically, that's not a lie. I have to go meet jack ass and I do need to drop of summons at the court. He'll be fine without me for a bit. Gathering her files into her bag, Lucas texted that he was downstairs waiting. Passing by the front desk, Bella smiled and waved goodbye to her before sending Fitz a quick text.

On his way to the conference room, Fitz stopped off at the receptionist. "Bella, how's your day going?"

"It's been a bit quiet this afternoon. Everyone's set up in conference room b for you."

"Great, any chance I could ask for a favor?"

"I'm not really supposed to leave the desk, but I can give it a shot."

"You won't need to. Text me if Olivia leaves the building. I just need to know if she's in the office or not and you know how she is. She won't let me know if she's coming or going," Fitz laughed, attempting to play off his favor as a needy boss.

"I can do that, no problem, Mr. Grant. Good luck in there too, they seem kind of heated."

Arguing in his meeting with the opposing attorney, Fitz looked down at the phone vibrating next to him.

Bella: Ms. Pope just left.

Did she say where she was going? Or when she'd be back? Fitz replied back to her text.

Bella: No, just had her purse and a tote bag.

Thanks!

Trying to pay full attention to the argument in front of him, Fitz tried to reason with himself to just let her be. Though the words Jerry told him rang in his mind. Why would I need to keep Liv in my sight? She's been fine all week. It's not like she'd get on a plane and go somewhere. Why is everyone so tight lipped about her still? We've been together for almost nine months now. What else can she be holding back on.

Heading up the steps of the courthouse, Olivia delivered her papers to the clerk's office and checked for Fitz's mail. Taking the short trip upstairs to his office, she stopped at Nancy's desk first and hugged her old coworker.

"How are things? It's been so long, what are you doing up here?" Nancy questioned, excited to see her.

"I thought I'd stop by and say hello to a couple people. Things are going well, I miss seeing you every day though. Fitz is great but I do miss having a partner at the same level," she smiled and looked around. "Is James around?"

"He'll be done with his session in a few minutes. He'll be surprised to see you. I thought he wouldn't take Fitz's divorce case, but he was adamant to be the judge."

"I see. Did he give a reason?"

"James said he wanted to help a friend get what they deserve," Nancy smiled and took her seat. "I never thought a divorce would take this long if there were no kids involved."

"I didn't either. Seemed like a cut and dried case."

Opening the door, James walked into Nancy's office handing her the file before seeing Liv. "Hey Nancy, could you get these on the calendar? This it's clear… Liv! Wonderful to see you again!"

"As always," Liv gritted her teeth. Nancy put the file down beside her and turned her attention to the computer. Olivia gave her attention back to James. "Do you have time to catch up?"
