"I know what I'm doing Sara…" Greg sighed, signing each one of the multitude of samples that she placed before him.

"I know but this is high priority." The brunette stressed, counting each bag once again.

"And I've been doing this longer than you've been here. Give me some credit Sara I've worked worse cases."

"Ok." Sara sighed begrudgingly, biting her lip. "Page me the second you get the results."

"No problem."

Halfway through the samples he was interrupted when Grissom stepped in. "Greg, can I see you in my office please?"

There was something in his tone that made the tech stop. "I'll be there in a minute Griss." Cleaning up and securing Sara's samples, he headed to his supervisor's office.

Stepping in he was a little confused as Brass closed the door behind, Grissom nodding to the chairs across from him. "Take a seat Greg."

Wearily Greg slid into one of the chairs, his eyes bouncing between the detective and his boss. "Wh…what's going on?"

"Greg…" Brass started, sitting in the chair next to the young man. "Do you know Laila and Elias Olaf or Erik and Mia Sanders?"

Greg, slightly dumbfounded, shook his head, chuckling. "Of course, I do, it's my parents and grandparents." Seeing Grissom, his eyes closing, a sigh at his lips, the tech turned to the detective. "Why?"

Brass dropped his eyes to his lap, momentarily, before bringing them back to the younger man, his tone even. "I got a call from highway patrol…they found their car run off the side of the road, a hundred miles north of here."

"Ok…there ok?" Greg questioned, laughing slightly but stopped finding the two men trading an unreadable look. "Right?"

Brass shook his head, tears pooling in his eyes. "There were no survivors."

Greg's eyes widened, his heart seizing in his chest as he stuttered. "What?"

"I'm sorry."
