"You're not going on a run today?"

Moving just enough to turn off the alarm on the night stand, Fitz had his arm wrapped around Olivia's waist as she was curled against him. With it already 7 in the morning, there was no time for a run unless they were to be late for work. Liv was still dressed in her pajamas and looked like she hadn't been up at all yet.

Feeling her shake her head no against his arm, she held his hand tighter. "It's Monday though. You always go for a run and meet dad and for coffee. But you haven't been going for the last couple of weeks. Are you sick?"

"No, I just don't want to go."

"Would this have anything to do with you shouting at him after dinner when Javi came home?"

"It doesn't matter if it does or not. I'm not going today. Jerry can have coffee by himself or with Huck today. Maybe he'll take Verna with him."

Sitting up against the headboard of the bed, Fitz started running light fingers through her hair on the pillow. "What went wrong while I was gone? You were fine with him and Verna when I left. Is it because of your panic attack?" Liv flipped her head back to look at him with wide eyes. "Power of deduction, Livie. Verna sent me a 'how to' for the next time and you need to be calmed. So, I can see why you'd be upset with Verna because I know you find that to be a private thing. But what about Dad? Why are you mad at him?"

Turning her head away to see the time, or giving herself a moment to stall, Liv looked back with a smirk. "We have enough time for shower sex."

"It's that bad?"

"Shower sex is great."

"Stop trying to change the subject. I will forgo shower sex for you to tell me what is wrong. You are very routine, Livie. Nothing happens at a spur of the moment for you. And you have never missed a breakfast with Dad when he's in town until recently. Hell, even when he was gone with Javi, you still went. Now, what is going on?"

Picking up the pillow, Liv twisted to lay her head at the foot of the bed. "They think I turned one addiction in for another."

Fitz couldn't hold back the light laugh. "I don't think your wine drinking can be considered an addiction. You're pretty good at your containment."

"My addiction is you."

"Well, I have an addiction to you. We make a good pair."

"Fitz, I'm being serious. They both think that I turned my no sleep 'addiction'," she put air quotes up for him to see, "has been transferred to you. Jerry says I'm not myself and I'm letting you take me over. That all the years he has known me, I've never been so attached to someone that I wouldn't let him, or Huck, stay in bed with me. He thinks you're trying to control me and make me give up my happiness."

"And what does Verna say?"

"The same thing. She pissed me off first. She said she wasn't trying to compare you and Stephen but that's exactly what she did. Verna asked if Stephen would ever have a problem with me and Jerry or Huck being in the same bed. If Stephen would ask me to give up things for him to be happy."

Drawing circles on her leg, Fitz sat and listened to everything she had to say. He started to see why she was mad and the two and was beginning to get mad himself.

"Jerry asked last night what you were giving up being with me."

"What did you tell him?"

"You gave up your marriage."

As much as he wanted to, Fitz resisted pulling her up to him and facing him. He'd found from previous conversations that Liv was more open when she didn't have to see the look on his face. Instead, he kept hold on her legs to show her he was still here and listening.

"Livie, we both know that's not true. I'm not giving up anything to be with you. There's nothing I could give up. You are an addition to my life. It's easy to be with you. I gave up my marriage to her for myself."

"But did you? I mean, really? You told me before you had not thoughts about divorcing her until I came in. Sure, you might not have been happy with her, but you were with her for ten years. What if the two of you could have worked it out?"

If she had looked up at him, she would have caught the 'how can you even ask that?' look on his face. "Mellie is an alcoholic that I put up with for ten years. We hadn't got along in at least the last four years. There was never a way for us to reconcile. Have you really been thinking my divorce was about you?"

"We need to get ready for work."

Fitz grabbed her ankles holding her to the bed when she turned over to get up. "No, we're going to talk about this. And we're doing it now. Work can wait, this is more important."

"Fitz, we have to go."

"I said no, Olivia. Not until we finish this conversation." Relenting to it, Liv turned on her back again and sighed more annoyed than anything. Grabbing her hands, Fitz pulled her up to sit and look at him. "Do you really think that I only got divorced because of you?" Waiting for a verbal answer, he only received a head nod. "Why?"

"Come on, Fitz. You had never thought once about divorcing her until I became your assistant. And even then, it wasn't until six months later that we went to California, and she sprayed those names on my office walls."

Moving her hair aside from her face, Fitz ran the back of his hand over her cheek. "My sweet baby, that was what made me realize how horrible she is and that I didn't want to be with someone like that. I wanted to be with you from the moment I laid my eyes on you during your interview. I kick myself every day for not having left her years ago so when you came in, I could have pursued you. I could have been with you from day one of our meeting. We'd have already celebrated our one-year anniversary instead of it being next week."

Olivia smiled and put her hand over his on her face. "That might have been a better idea."

"I very much agree. Now as for Dad and Verna. Verna did not need to compare me and Stephen. Everyone knows we are two separate people who came in at different times in your life. Neither of us is better than the other. We're very different to you."

"I know that. Now, can we please get a shower so we can go to work?" Before Fitz could stop her, Liv had rolled off the bed and ran into the bathroom to start the water.

After their normal routine of what the day was looking like in the office, she set out to get started on her daily agenda while Fitz went off to his conference room meetings.

Lost in her morning for several hours, she hadn't realized the time when the phone on her desk rang.

"Yes, Bella?"

"Ms. Pope, there's a very excited little boy here who insists he needs to see his Aunt Livia," Bella laughed in the phone while she smiled at him.

"Javi's here? Have Kim bring him back, thanks Bella."

Running down the halls once he got the okay to go, Javi ran back and round the desk to her in the office.

"Aunt Livia, mommy's really busy and daddy has to go. They say I can stay with you! I have lots of Aunt Livia time to catch up on," Javi told her after jumping on her lap.

Seeing Huck come in with a backpack, he put it on her desk and shrugged. "Aunt Liv might be busy too, bud. I told you we could ask her. Sorry, Liv. Kim's taking her parents to their doctor's appointments, and I'm really short staffed at the coffee shop. Can you watch him?"

"Where's Jerry and Verna?"

"Verna's in Maryland at the office and Jerry's at some golf retreat. How do you not know where he's at?"

"I haven't talked to him in two weeks. Or her. It's alright, you can stay with me today."

Getting him set up at the table in her office, Javi was all set up to spend the day with her while she worked. Ordering lunch for them, Fitz came in with the bag that was delivered.

"Are we having lunch or a kid's meal?" He laughed putting in on her desk. "You're starting to eat like Javi."

"HEY!"

Turning to the voice, Fitz found him at the corner table drawing. "Chicken nuggets, French fries, and a chocolate shake. That explains it." Setting up their food at the table, Fitz and Liv joined him while they all ate and colored.

"Aunt Livia, what's a divorce?"

Both were surprised at the question he asked. "Why do you ask?" Fitz swallowed.

"Mommy says your divorce is taking forever. What's that?"

Liv waited for him to answer but he couldn't seem to phrase it for a child to understand. "It's when two people who are married don't want to be married anymore. So, they get a divorce."

"But you aren't married to Uncle Fitz. You can't get a divorce."

"You're right, Uncle Fitz and I are not married."

"Then who do you divorce?"

"My ex-wife," Fitz told him. Looking up at him, Javi had a pure look of confusion on his face. "Well, she's my wife right now. And Aunt Liv is my girlfriend, but I have to divorce my wife to be with Aunt Liv," Fitz blurted, only making him more confused.

Leaning over towards Fitz, Liv mumbled enough for him to hear her, "don't break his mind." Taking Fitz's phone from him, she pulled up a picture of Mellie and turned it to Javi. "This is Mellie. She's Uncle Fitz's wife. But they're getting a divorce, so they won't be married anymore. When they are divorced, Mellie will be his ex-wife."

"If she's married to Uncle Fitz, is she my aunt too?"

"Dear hell, no," Fitz nearly shouted, receiving a look from both of them. "I mean, no. Mellie is not your aunt. She's nothing to you. You won't even meet her."

"Would mommy and daddy get a divorce?"

"I don't think they would ever get divorced, Javi," Liv smiled at him, "they love each other too much for that to happen. How about we get this cleaned up and let Uncle Fitz get back to work in his office. He's got some phone calls he has to take."

Throwing away the wrappers, Javi took the paper he had and followed Fitz into his office. "I drew a picture for you. You can keep it here if you want to."

Looking at the picture of stick figures and a different kind of rain, Fitz took it from him with a smile. "I love the colors. Is that you and your parents?"

"Nope. That's you and me and Aunt Livia."

"You've got the sun out, but it looks like it's raining."

"Because it's raining chicken nuggets!"

Laughing, Fitz gave him a piece of tape to put his picture up. Putting it on the side of the desk, Javi left and closed the door for him.

Picking up the phone, Fitz called and waited for the answer.

"Judge Richards' office," the lady answered.

"Hey Nancy, it's Fitz Grant. I wondered if you might have an update on my divorce. I haven't seen a new hearing date."

"Your divorce? Let me see if I can find the judge for you."

Waiting a minute before the answer came, Fitz watched through the window seeing Liv playing with Javi at her desk, showing him something on her computer screen.

"Fitz?"

"James, hi, I was wondering about an update on the next hearing. It's been a few weeks and I haven't heard anything."

"You're a funny man, Fitzgerald."

"I'm not seeing anything funny, James. You've been pushing these divorce hearings back for a year now. I want to be rid of the woman already. So, when is the next hearing date?"

"There isn't one."

Annoyed with him, Fitz started to get angry. "You've kept this up long enough. I don't know what kind of punishment I'm getting or for what but I'm about ready to request a new judge. Why do you keep pushing this? Because Liv won't talk to you?"

"Fitz…"

"No, if you want to punish her then leave me out of it. But I need to get rid of Mellie. I'm done with her."

"Fitz there's no other hearing date."

"You've said that. And I'm getting tired of waiting. Is it the money? Fine, I'll give her alimony. I'll give her the vacation house. I don't give a damn anymore."

"Fitz there's no other hearing date because you're already divorced."

"Say that again?"

James let out a sigh and half smirked. "She didn't tell you."

"I don't talk to Mellie. Only in the courtroom."

"Not Mellie. Olivia."

"Why would Olivia tell me I'm divorced? I told her to stay out of it and she has."

"Really?" James laughed at the thought. "You think Olivia can mind her own damn business? That's cute, Fitzgerald."

"Since when is the divorce final?"

"I think you should talk to your girlfriend."
