Ladybug's P.O.V
I managed to sneak out after many annoying visits from the servants and mother. Everyone finally left me alone once I made the excuse of "needing some sleep."
I was unsure of leaving the mansion with... "Ella" still there. Just finding out my personal servant is a witch and knows my secret identity, it is an unsettling feeling. I still do not know her true intentions on her mission. She was very vague about it.
What do my parents have anything to do with Hawkmoth? Out of everyone in the wealthy section, dastardly people (like the mayor), or even the poor section, why my parents? I would not go as far as to blame my parents for getting themselves involved with Hawkmoth...but I cannot at the same time.
So, did Princess Fragrance make up an excuse to hide her true intentions, or was she telling the truth? She could be lying to me and is planning to do something wicked. She could be blackmailing me and using my family for her devious plans.
I have never met a witch before and do not know what they are like. The stories I hear could be just what they are: stories. It is very confusing and off-putting.
I needed to clear my head and listen to opinions from people I can trust. Maybe, they would know more about witches than the wealthy section. Plus, I can do some training at the dojo. Hopefully, there is a hero there to talk to.
I know they have other small jobs to work around the poor section. I might have to consider doing a job here and there too. I feel it is a part of my duty as a hero to help around the poor section. I will have to ask Rena Rouge or Chat Noir about that if either are there.
I land on the dojo's roof and slip through the skylight. I can hear the sounds of someone punching the punching bag. That is good since there does not seem to be anyone else here. I suppose I did come at a weird time. I have never come here during the middle of the day since I am busy.
"It is very quiet," I thought. Usually, this place is filled with rambunctious energy. I somewhat miss it.
At least, there is someone here I can talk to-
"Oh," I thought, seeing a short, pink-haired woman punching the punching bag.
Bunnyx, the holder of the bunny miraculous.
She is the only one I have yet to talk to, let alone hear a peep out of. I had only ever seen her once before this. I have never actually seen her battle Akumas or use her powers.
"What is her ability?" I wondered in my head, carefully approaching her. I awkwardly open my mouth not sure what I am even going to say. Before I get a chance to pause and think, Bunnyx suddenly twists her body around. In the blink of an eye, her fisted hand is mere inches away from my face.
I gasp, stumbling back from the sudden attack. Luckily, I keep on my feet. My clumsiness is reduced thanks to these powers. I do not need to be tripping over my feet during my battles.
"What in the world?" I thought, watching Bunnyx relax her fighting stance to stand there with a neutrally mean look resting on her face. She would be very hard to approach.
"Uh...hi," I started, earning not the slightest response from Bunnyx. I am beginning to wonder if she could speak. She seems like she keeps to herself a lot.
"So..." I continued, unsurely and glanced at the punching bag behind her, "...do you like sparing?"
Her eye twitched.
I do not know whether that is a good reaction or a bad one. I feel the need to be careful with my every word, afraid I may break the already thin line.
Unfortunately, I am not good at socializing. I hardly made merry with any of the wealthy citizens since they are all buffoons. Some have called me a looney oddball while others referred to me as a repulsive loner. No one gave me the time of day unless I was useful for something. For example: my hand in marriage to boost egos.
As much as I hate to admit it, Chloe and Lila are impeccably better at socializing.
I sighed, shaking my head in defeat.
"Do forget this conversation. I have made a fool of myself," I said, walking away from the bunny hero. I am disappointed in myself. How did I become closer to the other heroes, especially the grumpy cat? It must have been a miracle or the heroes are just too nice for their own good.
Maybe, I shall try talking with Master Fu.
As I walk away, I listen to the sounds of Bunnyx hitting the punching bag again. Aside from that, everything else is quiet. I have yet to see any of the other rebels.
"I wonder..." I started to think, "...are the others actually busy or..."
I pause from going any further, returning my vision to Bunnyx hitting the bag. I could be completely wrong. This all could be a major coincidence. A theory. Yet, I have a sneaking suspicion that the rebels do come around this time...like it is planned for Bunnyx to train by herself.
But why?
The miraculous heroes seem so nice. They do not seem like the kind of people to just let their friend be by herself. It actually irks me a bit.
Although, I cannot jump to conclusions. There has to be a reason. Right? They do not just leave their teammate alone without a purpose. I should not be jumping to conclusions. But it is difficult to do, considering I sadly have to think the worst of everyone from the wealthy class.
And usually, those thoughts are correct.
I trust the rebels will surprise me in the end like they have been doing.
I navigate my way down through a hallway. All the doors are kept only to the right and...are very similar.
"Which door was Master Fu's again?" I thought. I have only been to the master's quarters once during the snail Akuma threat. We were in such a rush I did not memorize the door Master Fu resides behind. I merely followed Chat Noir.
Hoping my powers of luck will guide me to the correct door, I walked up to my first guess. For all I know, he might not even be here.
"What is behind door number one?" I thought.
I knocked.
"Master Fu?" I called out, getting no reply. I cautiously opened it, revealing the room to be a tiny closet. I shut the door.
"That was embarrassing," I muttered to myself and was going to try another door. I turned around and shrieked in fright, stumbling back into the door.
Bunnyx stood there with the same facial expression from when we talked. Her vivid blue gaze stared at me with no emotion. I blinked a few times, trying to calm down my racing heart.
"Uh...hello again," I awkwardly greeted, "Did you need something?"
Bunnyx did not say a word. Instead, she walked down the hallway. I watched as she stopped in front of a door and faced me, extending an arm out to point at it. Is she helping me?
"Is that Master Fu's room?" I asked. To my surprise, Bunnyx responded with a nod. I walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Her eyes widened for a moment, seeming to not expect the sudden touch. I smiled at her.
"Thank you. That was very kind of you to show me," I sincerely said. There was a little shift within her face for a second that could have been missed if one was not paying attention. She gave me another nod before returning to the dojo.
I faced the door and was about to knock on it.
The door slid open, revealing the short, elder man. How did he know I was outside the door? Did he hear me?
Master placed his hands behind his back and gave me a welcoming smile.
"Hello there, Ladybug," he greeted, gesturing for me to enter, "Please, come in and take a seat."
I stepped into the room and sat down on a mat. Fu busied himself around the room making some kind of tea before joining me at the table. He placed a Chinese tea cup in front of me and sat down.
"It is nice to finally talk to you without the threat of an Akuma or with Chat Noir," Fu said, taking a sip, "So, what is it that you have come to talk with me?"
I gingerly pick up the teacup and take a small sip. I thought it would not taste very good but it is better than some teas I have tasted in the wealthy section.
"Yes, I would like to know something," I said, placing the cup down, "I would like to know your opinion on witches."
Master Fu paused from taking a sip and then placed his cup down.
"How come?" He asked, stroking his beard intrigued. I was going to fiddle with my skirt out of a nervous habit but I realized that I was not wearing a dress.
"I...uh can't share that information. Secret identities and all," I sputtered out. Master Fu let out a hearty chuckle.
"My child, I know your identity and where you come from. After all, I was the one who gave you the miraculous," he explained, "You can tell me anything in here. This is a safe place."
"That is right," I thought, feeling silly for forgetting that bit of information. I reached out for the cup and began to mess with it to give my hands something to do. He is correct. I feel much safer here talking with Master Fu than I would at home.
"Well..." I began, "I have this...personal servant girl who I recently found out was a witch. I wanted to know your opinion on whether witches are good or bad?"
He hummed before standing up.
"That is a very interesting question," he said, grabbing a chalkboard and chalk. He returned to sitting in front of me and placed the board on the table. I curiously watched him write a few words such as "rich," "poor," "miraculous holders," and "witches."
"Tell me, Ladybug. Do you think that all wealthy citizens are good or bad people?" Fu asked.
"They are all bad," I answered without hesitation, trying to see where this is going. Fu nodded before pointing at me.
"Before you received the miraculous, did you think of yourself as a good or a bad person?" He asked
"I would like to say I am a good person," I answered, raising an eyebrow.
"Even though you are a wealthy citizen yourself?" He questioned. I opened my mouth but I did not have a response for that. He definitely got me there. Now that I think about it, Max and Rosemary were wealthy class people too but were not bad.
"Okay. Maybe not the entire wealthy section," I feebly corrected myself. He hummed.
"And what about the poor people?" Fu asked, crossing off "rich." I thought over the time I have spent in the poor section and its people.
"There is a mixture of good and bad," I replied, earning a nod from the elder man. He crossed off "poor" from the board.
"The miraculous holders?" Fu asked. I wanted to flat out say they are all good but hesitated. I need to think it over before blurting out my answers. I have gotten to know most of the miraculous holders but there is one who is misusing a miraculous.
"Both," I answered. Fu smiled, crossing off "miraculous holders."
"Very good, Ladybug," Fu said with a nod of approval, "I think you have your answer for witches."
"But...do not sorcery wielders use the dark arts to commit evil deeds?" I asked.
"It is the same as using a miraculous or having some type of power," Fu explained, "It is up to a rich folk what they do with all their money. It is up to a less fortunate citizen what they do with a weapon. And it is up to a magic wielder with what they do with their powers."
Fu crossed out "witches" and then drew a circle around all the words.
"There will always be a balance between good and evil. But it is up to a person what they do with their abilities that will decide it. For example, you. You chose to use your power for good even with your reputation as a child of a rich family. Even when you were given more power. You did not let it go to your head and misuse it for yourself. You use it to help others in need," Fu wisely concluded.
He is correct about it all. Everything. There is no good or bad. No vigilantes or lesser beings. Everyone is human with their mistakes and flaws. The poor section is not completely filled with good while the rich are not completely filled with bad. It is all balanced but still broken.
"I understand," I nodded, "Thank you."
"You are welcome," Fu said, "Now, I think you have a witch to talk to."
