It was the scariest and most freeing thing she had ever done in her life. Today she had decided to take a walk wearing a cute night blue dress that her sister had become too tall to wear, but fit her perfectly despite her somewhat pudgy stomach.

A few people gave her weird look as she passed them. But thankfully no one pointed or yelled at her like she was afraid of.

She had always loved dresses and skirts. But had never been allowed to wear them and didn't have to courage to try it on behind her family's back. But today everyone had gone to visit grandma and she had been left behind since grandma hated her. Robin was still in the closet but she knew that everyone in her family arleady suspected about her hidden feelings. It's not like she did a very good job at hiding them.

You see Robin always felt like a girl. But everytime she tried to act girly her family would yell at her. All because she supposedly didn't have the right thing between her legs to be a real girl.

She had always been jealous of her sister who was able to be who she was without consequences and yet she couldn't. Robin had yet to actually admitted to her parents that she wanted to be a girl. But she knew deep down that if she put her feelings out there in the open it would only put her in even more trouble than she arleady was. So she kept it quiet and tried to induldge in her girly side only when she was on her own.

Unfortunately this meant she wasn't allowed to grow her hair out. She had a boyish short cut of hair that she absolutely hated and that was most likely why she attracted so much confused glances right now. Because otherwise her appearance was pretty androgynous thanks to the fact she was only nine years old.

Deciding to take a little break from all the stares she took a small detour throught an alley. She felt more at ease once she was one her own and began to twirl around giggling at the way her dress would ripple around.

''What are you doing in a dress, Robin? You're trying to be a faggot? '' A voice she really didn't want to hear today of all day said.

She turned around and gasped fearfully at the sight of Mike. He was pretty infamous at school for bullying gay kids, but she had managed to hide her own secret from him, until now.

''I know there was something off about you. But I would never have expected you to be a damn tranny.'' Without any warning the boy rushed at her and punched her brutally in the face.

''Ow, stop! I didn't do anything to you!'' She said with tears arleady streaming down her face.

''You exist, that's all the offense I need to kick your ass, you fat fuck.'' He said before punching her in her pudgy belly making her lose her breath and hunch over in pain. As she tried to regain her breath and footing he pushed her hard. She was sent falling down on the ground with a painful yelp.

''Don't ever wear those sissy clothes again if you know what's good for you. Tranny pigglet.'' He said before spitting on her dress and walking away.

Once she was left completely alone Robin began to sob. Why couldn't she just have been a girl? And why did everyone was so against her acting like one?! She never wanted to offend anybody she just wanted to be herself!

She curled up and continue to cry for what felt like hours. After a while she noticed that she was getting cold laying on the cold ground in a random alley. So she slowly and painfully rose to her feet.

Once she was up she looked down at herself and whimpered at how much tears, gashes and dirt had stain her pretty dress. It was completely ruined now.

She didn't feel like walking around anymore...She just wanted to go home and hide away from everything.

As she walked back toward her house a few concerned onlookers tried to ask if she was alright. But she simply brushed them off and continued walking barely registering where she was going.

However when her house came into view she stopped dead in her track. The lights of the kitchen were on. Which meant her family had come back earlier than expected. Or maybe she had stayed out longer than she tought. Nevertheless she couldn't let her family see her like this. The last time her dad had caught her wearing a skirt he had almost broken her arm in a fit of rage. It had hurt for an entire week afterward.

He had once 'joked' that if any of his kids came out as trans or gay he would kick them out of the house. She was too afraid to test whether or not this really was just a joke. Especially since he was glaring at her for a while after his comment, as if daring her to speak up.

So she turned around and went to the only other place that made her feel safe.

By the time she reached the park the sun had went down. The only source of light were the few street lamps scattered throught the park. A normal park at night usually wouldn't be a safe place to be in a city like this. These are the sort of place where young teenage punks would come to sell drugs and do stupid shit while high.

But there was an old homeless man living here. That might be cause to concern for some people. But Robin had come to know the man and felt safe whenever he was there. He was an old war veteran and had scared off any punks who would dare try to use the park as their turf at night.

The first time she had met him at night she had almost wet her pants in fear. But the man had simply smiled wistfully at her and rubbed her hair. She didn't know why she did it, but the man had become the only one who she confessed her feelings about wanting to be a girl and how she felt unsafe about revealing that fact to her family.

Ever since then the man had welcomed her in the park any time she needed a safe space to be away from home. She was too embarassed to admit it, but Robin kind of saw the man like a grandpa to her.

Unfortunately he didn't seemed to be around tonight. Sometime the man would go to the homeless shelter instead of staying here so the authtorities wouldn't get on his case too much for squating. But he admitted to her he that felt better sleeping here under the stars than the cramped cots back at the shelter.

Robin sighed and looked up at the gleaming stars in the sky wishing with her all heart she could just fly away and explore the galaxies. Her world was so boring and restrictive. She was never allowed to be who she wanted to be. She wish she could just leave everything behind and be free.

She gasped as she saw a star started moving on it's own in the sky. It was a shooting star. Quickly she clasped her hands together, closed her eyes and quickly muttered her dearest desire. ''I wish I was a real girl. Please I would do anything.''

It was silly, she knew. She didn't actually believed shooting stars could grant wish. But despite this she couldn't help but pray a miracle of any kinds could grant her wish.

And as she opened her eyes and looked up. The shooting star was gone and she was still stuck in a body she hated. She sighed, of course nothing like that would ever work. She lived in a boring, dull, realistic world where nothing good ever actually happened. At least not to her.

She yawned tiredly and decided to just lay down on the bench. Hopefully she wouldn't catch a cold like the last time she slept here. Tomorrow morning her parents and sister would be gone to work and to school. She would quickly go back to change clothes before going to school. She doubt anyone actually cared she would be gone all night.

Just as she was about to let herself drift into sleep. She heard a loud sound like the crack of a whip. She jolted up, now wide awake and her eyes widen at the sight that appeared in front of her.

It was as if someone or something had sliced the empty air in front of her and left a gaping empty hole. Such a sight shouldn't even be possible and yet here it was just a few meters above her.

The hole started to emanate a bright light but it still seemed pretty calm and harmless at first. Then without warning the light intensified and she felt a strong gust of wind trying to pull her inside the rift.

Robin screamed in fright and tried to hold her grip on the bench she had been laying on. She was holding on for dear life, but the suction only seemed to get stronger as her legs lifted off from the ground and her body almost felt like it was weightless as she dangled in the air.

The bench started cracking from the sheer force of the sunction and she felt splinters stabbing at her hands. ''Ouch!'' Unfortunately she made the mistake of loosening her grip because of the pain and her hands slipped away from the bench. Robin let out a shrill scream of terror as she was sucked into the tear in the sky.

As soon as she disappeared inside, the hole closed behind itself. Leaving no evidence of what happened there except for a small crack in the bench...

A man with bags under his eyes mindlessly tap away at the report on his computer screen. Sometime he felt like the reports took longer to go throught that the actual cases he was supposed to solve.

With a final press of the dot key. The man sighed and let himself slump on his chair. Finally it was done, now maybe he could actually get some sleep.

Just as he was about to rise up and walk to bed. An all too familiar jingle played from his computer and he let out a defeated groan as he sank back into his chair and opened the call.

''It's one in the morning over here. I hope you have a very good reason to make a Skiploom call right now, boss.'' He said not even bothering to hide his irritation.

''You shouldn't even complain Looker. I know you were still up at this hour, you workaholic. Here it's only six in the morning and this damn call woke me up.'' A man with gray hair and a completely disinterested expression said as his face appeared on camera.

Looker scoffed and smirked tiredly. ''Nanu, you would still be asleep even if it was early in the afternoon. You're the type that only's awake when the moon is out.''

''Let's cut the banter for another time. The fact that this call was made during our off hours obviously mean that something important has come up.'' A pretty young woman with light purple hair and a serious expression said.

''Yes Anabel.'' The two man replied at the same time. One sheepishly, while the other mockingly.

Finally the face of the one who had made the call appeared on screen. It was a tall being with piercing blood red eyes. This was the only visible part of his body on camera as the rest of it was hard to see due to the fact that almost no light could enter in the place it's reside.

The International Police was a very secretive organisation with a lot of internal information the public weren't privy to. But perhaps the most well kept secret was the fact that the organization wasn't run by a human at all.

And even if somehow the secret would be one day discovered by someone. The general public would never believe the boogeyman of the Pokémon world had been working for the betterment of human civilisation and Pokémon coexistence for decades.

''Hey there boss. So what happened for you to wake us up at this ungodly hour? Another looming apocalypse that can hopefully be stopped by a helpful ten year old?'' Nanu asked sarcastically while barely stiffling a yawn.

Once upon a time Looker would have been horrified at his coworker showing so little respect to a being that could most likely write him off from existence. But at this point he was just used to it. And despite the horrors stories about him their boss was a very patient person- er Pokémon.

''Unfortunately it's nothing that interesting. However I have detected the appearance of another Faller. This should be a pretty routine investigation and relocation.'' The voice coming from the old being was deep, but calm and professional.

''So what is it this time? Ultra Beast, Pokémon...Animal?'' Any kind of living thing could fall from one of the ultra wormholes. Ultra Beasts were pretty weird on their own. But the existence of living beings similar looking to Pokémon but with with no potential for channelling Ether and with little to no reasoning skill was really weird to Looker.

Most animals that had been founded were kept in captivity to be studied. Unfortunately most of the time the animals had died before they could even reach them. None of them could survive long in a ecosystem with creatures that could breath fire or shoot lightning.

Anabel theorized that such creatures might have existed in the distant past of their own planet and either were wiped out once Pokémon invaded their territory. Or bred with them to give their descendants a fighting chance.

''I suspect that our new guest is...human. However I could also feel that some modification was made to them from the strange propriety of the wormhole. So there's no telling what they could have become.'' Their boss replied with slight concern in it's tone.

Looker sighed. For some reason humans falling into their world turned into Pokémon shockingly often. Their most infamous case was the one where a boy had found himself in their world turned into a Kadabra. It had started an urban legend that humans with psychic abilities could just randomly turned into Kadabra at any time. Which had caused quite a stir in the psychic community at the time.

''Looker, you're in Sinnoh right now and Anabel you're in Johto, correct?'' The both of them nod their head. ''The Faller has landed in the ocean near Slateport City. Hopefully when you reach them they will have managed to reach the city without drowning.''

Looker and Anabel looked at each other in concern at that. ''I guess we should hurry up then. We'll report once we made contact with the Faller.'' Anabel said stiffly before her camera shut down.

Looker sighed. ''I suppose that mean I won't get to sleep tonight.'' He said with a tired smirk before shutting down the call.

Looker got up from his chair and walked out of the door of his home into the night. He put a hand in his pocket and retreive a red and white sphere which he proceeded to throw in front of him.

The ball opened and a light coalescence into a monstrously massive bird that proceeded to extent it's wings and cry as it was released. ''Pidgeot!''

''Hello girl.'' Looker said while gently rubbing the top of her head. The giant bird leaned into the touch and trilled appreciatively. Looker then jumped on the back of the Pidgeot and very lightly hit her with his hell making her flap her wings and rise into the sky. ''We have another Faller case to go investigate Plume. We need to go to Slateport City in Hoenn as fast as you safely can.''

''Pidge!'' The flying Pokémon replied before beginning to flap her large wings and producing a strong gust of wind that sent the duo fly into the night at a speed that was almost lethal to humans. But Plume knew very well the limits of her soft human companion and she would never go fast enough to actually harm him.

Looker closed his eyes as he tought deeply about his next assignment. He had seen many things in his time in the International Police. From a madman trying to remake the world, to genocidal maniacs that wanted to use weapons of mass destruction to purge 'ugliness' from the world and actual aliens creatures invading their world.

Despite these cases being much bigger and harrowing. He found the Faller cases a lot more taxing. It was easy to try to save the world. Either you did it, or it suddenly wasn't your problem anymore. But having to break the news to someone that they most likely are never going to be able to return home...It's something that is heartbreaking and draining everytime he has to do it. But sometime the Faller adapt and come to love living in this world. He can only hope this is one of those times...
