As Robin entered in the dormitory building she was greeted with the familiar sight of Principal Joy. The older woman smiled as she saw Robin enter. ''Your guardian called me to say you would move in to the dorms today. I decided I would come here to help you pick your room.''
''I can choose? I tought I would be assigned a room by the school.'' Robin admited, somewhat relieved.
Principal Joy nodded with a knowing smile. ''I should warn you, however, that every room in the dormitory arleady has at least one occupant. So you can't have a room all to yourself, unfortunately.''
Robin nodded, not minding that much. As nice as it would be to have all that space to herself. Living on her own would definitely have felt lonely.
''So I can provide you with a list of all the rooms with their occupants if you wish.'' The older woman said but Robin interupted her with a burning question she had since she learned she could choose her room.
''You said earlier today that another Faller lived here...It's Charlie right? Is there still a place left in their room?'' Robin asked fidgeting with her hand bashfully.
Principal Joy smirked, her eyes glinting in amusement. ''Somehow I knew you were going to ask that. As it happen Charlie is arleady rooming with two other students. However they live in one of the largest room meant to host four person. Would you be okay to live in a room of four?''
Without thinking Robin nodded rapidly. Happy that she would get to room with someone she had so much in common with, despite the species difference.
The Principal guided Robin throught the stairs, by the time they arrived on the fifth floor. Robin was arleady out of breath. She really needed to work on her stamina or she would never last on a Pokémon Journey.
They walked throught a long corridor until they arrived in front of a room numbered 572. The aging Principal turned toward Robin with a smile and gave the girl a key. ''Here it is, the key to your new dorm room. I will leave you to introduce yourself to your new roommates.'' With a last friendly nod the principal walked back toward the stairs and left Robin nervously standing in front of the door.
She took the key and shakily unlocked the door. She was about to just open it, but then tought better about it. It would be kind of rude to just barge in a room like that before being properly introduced, right? So instead she decided to knock on the door. A young boyish voice called out from the other side. ''Is that you Lee? Come in!''
It definitely confirmed she would roomed with at least one boy. She hoped it wouldn't be too awkward, but she had known it was a possibility when she choose the unisex dorm.
Gripping the handle of the door she slowly opened it and let herself inside. And then instantly froze as she heard a high pitch squeak. ''W-who are you?!'' The same boyish voice from earlier but with a much more high pitched tone asked.
The room almost reminded her of something you would see in a summer camp. There were two pairs of bunk beds facing each other on each side of the room. There was a small window to the side which was the only source of light within the room right now. To her left there was a big wooden desk with a mirror and four drawers stacked on top of each other. To her right there was a door that led to a small bathroom with a toilet, a sink and a single shower.
But all of this had not been what made Robin freeze. Because sitting in the lower bunk bed facing her was a boy, a boy who was wearing absolutely nothing at all. She also noticed that she knew that boy. She didn't recognise him at first because of the missing hat. But the slackjaw expression and the way his entire face colored red, almost making him look like some sort of Magikarp was unmistakable. This was the same boy who had caught her undressing in the clothing store Anabel had bought her to.
Since she hadn't seen him at school she had kind of assumed he wasn't coming here. But of course, there was no way she would meet every students that came to her school in a single day.
The boy covered his prepubecent flacid cock with his hands and started shouting. ''W-why are you in our room?!''
Robin now equally embarassed opened her mouth to answer. But before she could say anything, a frustrated groan emerged from the bunk bed above the boy. ''Ruby will you shut the fuck up?! I was fucking sleeping, you little dick sucker!''
At the other's kid words, the boy's face turned even more red and embarassed, somehow. The other occupant in the room threw their blanket aside and glared at the boy.
Robin however froze a second time, the second kid was not wearing anything either. And she couldn't tell earlier because of how androgynous the voice had sounded. But now that they were naked Robin could see the small slit between the second kid's legs. Clearly confirming her second roomate was a girl.
''W-why are you two naked?'' Robin finally managed to blurted out but immediatly stood still when the girl's angry stare toward her.
''Who the fuck are you, you girly girl looking cunt?! This is our room, so fuck off!'' The girl said with a sneer on her face.
''U-um sorry, but I'm Robin...Your new roomate.'' She winced as the girl seize her up and down like a piece of meat.
To her surprise the girl finally stop glaring and smiled. But somehow her smile put her even more on edge, she almost looked like a predator who had cornered a nice tasty snack.
''Well, well, well. We have a new roomate, finally. And it's a girl too. It would be nice to have someone who's not a nutsacks swinging moron around here.''
''H-hey!'' Ruby protested weakly, but was completely ignored by the other girl.
''However we have a very specific rule for anyone rooming with us. If you can't follow that simple rule then you'll have to fuck off and go bother some other dickwad to room with.'' The girl said with narrowed eyes.
Robin gulped and tried to not show too much nervousness afraid the girl would pounce on her like a wolf who smell fear. ''W-what's the rule?'' She asked, but she arleady had a pretty good idea what it was.
''Don't you have eyes you dumb bitch? The rule is obviously that you have to strip yourself and live in the dorms in the nude! Me and my little bro are naturists. Which is a fancy way to say we like being naked and shit. We don't want to room with prissy little twats who would shy away from that. So we only want to room with nudists like us!''
Robin felt really conflicted. Sure she had come to term to go out with no panties underneath her skirt. But having no clothes at all in front of two strangers? That was something else entirely. She had wanted to slowly accustom herself to this new nudist culture. But this girl had basically thrown her straight into the frying pan.
''B-before I make a decision, I have to know, is this really the right room? Is Charlie really living here?'' Robin asked trying to not wilt under the scowl the other girl was giving her.
The brash girl opened her mouth probably to say something extremely rude again. But Robin almost melt in relief when she heard a familiar male robotic voice. [Saphire, why are you screaming like a banshee again?] Despite the voice having no emotions in it's tone. Robin could almost feel the exasperation oozing from his words.
Everyone turned toward the door where an all too familiar Minccino stood. His eyes then turned toward the new guest. Charlie's eyes widen and his ears perked up when he caught sight of who was in the room. [Robin?! What are you doing here?]
''You know this cunt, Lee?'' The girl who Robin now knew was called Saphire asked with her arms crossed.
The Minccino sighed and gave her an unamused stare. [Please don't call her that. And yes I know her. This is the girl I found unconscious on the beach. After that we bonded...Because of personal reasons, I won't say what without her permision. So what are you doing here Robin? Not that I'm unhappy to see you.]
Robin fidgeted slightly. ''W-well I needed to get a room in the dormitory for a while and I tought rooming with my best friend here would be nice. I-I can choose another room if you want.''
Charlie looked conflicted and turned his eyes toward Robin with a concern look. [Did they tell you about the condition for being our roommate?]
''A-about being a nudist? Y-yeah I was kind of hoping it was just this girl being unhinged.''
''What did you just say about me, you fat Miltank?!'' Robin winced as she unconsciously rub her pudgy belly. Despite loving her new girl body there was still one thing that made her a bit self conscious and Saphire went straight for the jugular.
Seeing Robin's expression Charlie gave Saphire a warning glance. The rude girl scoffed in response, but looked away with a huff. The the Minccino gazed back at Robin and looked apologetic. [Unfortunately it's true. Saphire enforced the rule since the school year began. Nobody else wanted to room with her and Ruby because of this. Especially after they came to know Saphire...interesting personality. But since I'm a Pokémon I don't really care about clothes anyway. So I decided to room with them. Don't worry, Saphire is a lot nicer than she let on, once you come to know her.]
At that the girl rolled her eyes, but didn't comment.
''What about you Ruby, why did you decide to live with...her?'' Robin said curious how the shy boy would end up with such a crazy girl.
''She's...my sister, my twin sister to be exact. I know she might seem crazy but I love her, she's always been there for me when it mattered. And well...I also like being naked too, I would never have been confident enough to enforce a rule like this if it wasn't for her. I probably would have been forced to room with non-naturists and pretend like wearing clothes didn't make me feel like I'm slowly suffocating.'' He shook his head sadly. ''My father don't believe me when I tell him that's how clothes make me feel. He's still old school and believe a boy shouldn't go around naked, that the nudist lifestyle is just a girl thing. But Saphire believed me and even went as far as trying the naturist lifestyle with me and we both ended up loving it. She might be rough around the edges, but she's the best sister anyone could ask for.''
Saphire groan at how mushy her brother was being, but she couldn't hide the small smile that was forming on her face as she pretended to not care about their conversation.
Robin meanwhile felt a lot more sympathetic toward Ruby. It might not be exactly the same thing as how she had felt back when she was a boy. But it was eerily similar. She knew all too well how it felt to be told to not enjoy things 'meant' for the opposite gender.
Charlie turned toward Robin and shook his head. [Look Robin, if the rule make you uncomfortable don't force yourself on my behalf. It would be nice to have you in the same room as me. But it's not the end of the world if you go room with someone else. We can always see each other in the dorm common room or at school. I had a lot of time to get used to the drastically different culture here. But I know for you, you're still adjusting. It would be really unfair to ask you to just unlearn every cultural norms you were taught to follow, fresh off the landing.]
The twins looked somewhat confused at his wording. But Robin got it, Charlie became a Faller five years ago. He got used to how thing worked around here. Meanwhile she still shied away with the idea of showing what people back home considered a girl's most secret and private body part.
Her first instinct was to walk away and just try to find another roomate. As Charlie told her they would still meet within the dorm building and at school it wasn't that big of a deal in the end. But then she tought about her day at school, how embarrassed she was about wearing a skirt pantieless and how she came to enjoy it by the end. Wearing nothing at all was basically just the next step right?
''I-I'm still not sure about this. But I'm willing to try. I'll go nude today and if I don't like it, tomorrow I'll go find another room.'' Robin said clenching her fist in determination. Then psyching herself up she wrapped her hand under her shirt and lifted it all the way up. Before letting it fall carelessly on the ground. Despite being a girl now. There was nothing really revealing about her being shirtless since she was still as flat as a board. She felt self conscious about the fact her fat belly was now exposed. But no one seemed to care about it despite Saphire's earlier insult. But then she wrapped her hands around her skirt and hesistated for a few seconds. Before just deciding to rip off the band-aid and pulled her skirt all the way down and kicked it away with her legs.
Robin face flushed as she looked back up and saw Saphire looking down at her pussy approvingly. Ruby and Charlie gave her encouraging smiles which made her feel a bit less self conscious. ''Nice cunt, it will be nice to have another girl here. For some reason the little rat always turn back into a guy when he come into the dorms, so I'm always left as the only girl here.''
[That's because I know you're a lesbian and a Poképhile and I would rather you didn't get any idea with me.] The male robotic voice from Charlie's phone replied.
''That's bullshit! Ruby is gay and a Poképhile too! So why are you okay being a guy around him?!'' Saphire scowled like a child who got denied candy.
Charlie looked back at her unamused. [Because I know that even if he might be attracted to me. He has actual self control and wouldn't try anything. I can't say the same about you.]
Saphire replied with a ''Tch'' sound coming out of her lips. But then she turned toward the other naked girl in the room and smirked. ''At least we have another cute girl in the room now. So hey girlie, how about you become my estrus partner? I promise I'll give you a good time.''
''W-what?!'' Robin asked in confusion, she had no idea what the girl was talking about. But the fact it involved being in heat, made her understand it was something really inappropriate.
To the surprise of everyone Charlie started growling lowly like some sort of predator. [Back off, she's mine!]
''I-I am?!'' Robin asked her face flushed.
''She is?!'' Saphire asked bewildered and then smirked toward the embarassed girl. ''So you have the hot for the little rat huh?! Didn't take you for a Poképhile, but that's pretty hot.'' Saphire said with a shit eating grin.
Charlie seemed to snap out of a trance and shook his head. He looked mortified about what he just did and took a strange little glowing crystal with many small flat surface. It kind of reminded her of a weirdly shaped dice she had seen once for a game named Dungeon and Dragons. But instead of numbers each of the surface were engraved with weird looking letters with eyes on them. After wracking her brain at the somehow familiar symbols. She realised those shapes looked like Unown.
The crystal started glowing brightly and filled the room with light. Robin had to cover her eyes with her arm to not be blinded. Once the light died down the Minccino was still standing there and Robin struggled to comprehend what the light show had accomplished.
Charlie started tapping on her smart phone for a few seconds before finally turning back to the group. [Sorry about that, I'm definetly more used to my female instincts. Sometime when I'm a male I'll do something that even surprise myself.] The robotic voice coming form the phone was now feminine.
Glancing down between Charlie's legs Robin realised the small crystal had somehow switched Charlie's gender. So that's how she changed from girl to boy and vice versa! But how did she find a gem that had such a power?
Charlie glanced toward Robin mournfully. [I'm sorry if I freaked you out. I have the mind of a human but I still have to deal with Pokémon instincts. It doesn't help that I'm a girl most of the time, so I'm not as used as dealing with my male hormones flaring up.]
Saphire looked even more amused if that was possible. ''So what you're saying is that you're not used to your little male prick hijacking your brain and telling you, you have the hots for a girl.''
Charlie face flushed at that and she looked down embarassed. [I wouldn't have put it so crudely. But basically yes.]
Robin froze at that. She didn't know how to feel about this. On one hand a Pokémon was attracted to her. On the other, Charlie used to be human. So it was completely understandable she would still like humans romantically. But how should Robin respond to this? What would people think if she decided to date a Pokémon?
[It's okay Robin, I know you don't feel the same about me. I'm still happy just being your friend. I know that where you came from something like this would be looked down as degenerate.]
Saphire crossed her arms. ''You haven't stop alluding to her coming from a place where things work differently. What do you mean by that Lee? Is she like you?''
Charlie froze at that and winced realising she really didn't do such a great job at being subtle. [Sorry, but this isn't my secret to tell.]
''So she is then, she's a Faller like you.'' Saphire said with certainty in her tone.
Robin felt a bit conflicted about revealing this to a girl she just met. But it wasn't like denying it would do any good at this point. So she nodded. ''Yeah, I came from another world like Charlie. A world where Pokémon don't exist.''
''So if Pokémon don't exist back there, why the fuck would there even be a stigma against dating them?'' Saphire replied half furious, half confused.
Charlie sighed and then started responding. [Basically, back in our world we had creatures called animals, instead of Pokémon. They kind of looked like us on a superficial level. But they had no powers and more importantly they weren't sapient. Most of them basically had the mental capacity of a Magikarp or a Pidove, some even worse than that. As you might know those species of Pokémon aren't considered intelligent enough to conscent to a relationship. The same was true for all animal species back on Earth. Because of this humans were the only sapient species in our old world and any relationship with a non-human was seen as a crime against nature.]
It took a while for Saphire to process this but the she turned to Robin with a judgemental glare. ''So what you're saying is that you don't want to date Charlie because according to your old culture she wouldn't even be counted as a person because of her appearance?''
Robin recoiled at the implication of her words. That sounded way too uncomfortably similar to some of the darkest moments in the history of her old world. ''I-I definetly see Charlie as a person! I would never discriminate against her because she's not human! It's just a lot to process okay?!'' Robin turned toward Charlie with an apologetic look. ''Charlie, I-I don't think I'm ready to give you a chance romantically yet. But...You're a really sweet girl. I'll try to get used to the idea and maybe someday we can go on an official date?''
Charlie nodded her head slowly trying to not get her hope too high but still smiling. [Don't worry about Saphire words too much. Poképhilia is counted as a separated sexuality in this world. So not everyone is attracted to Pokémon in that way and there's nothing wrong if you find you can't bring yourself to be attracted to me. Pokémon are the same in a way. Only about thirty percent of Pokémon are attracted to species outside of their own egg group. Most Pokémon who are naturally attracted to humans are part of the human-like egg group because despite humans not actually laying eggs. The Pokémon among that group all find humans similar enough to their group to be attracted to them. And similarly there are many humans who do not consider themselves Poképhile who are still attracted to Pokémon like Gardevoir, Gallade, Lopunny and Lucario. It's kind of a hot debate whether a human dating a Pokémon from the human-like egg group should even count as Poképhilia.]
''Only thirty percent of Pokémon mate outside of their species? I call bullshit on that. You hear about some Poképhile building themselves a harem of Pokémon lovers all the time. There's no way they can find so many Anthrophilic Pokémon so easily if there's so few of them.'' Saphire said with a somewhat worried look.
Ruby rolled his eyes. ''Really sis? You're still planning on making a harem of lesbian Pokémon?'' The young boy asked, seeing right throught the reason why she was so interested in the subject.
''Of course I do! That's like half the reason I want to be a trainer in the first place!'' Saphire replied shamelessly.
Charlie rolled her eyes. [Well, you'll be happy to know that despite wild Pokémon only being attracted to other egg groups thirty percent of the time. Pokémon who develop a bond with humans throught training tend to be much more inclined to be attracted to humans. These Pokémon are not really attracted to human physically, but rather emotionally. Pokémon and Trainers who have bonded together have such a deeply intimate understanding and love of each other that the normal barrier of sexuality just melt away. Most trainer only express that deep love platonically. However Pokémon are more than willing to explore that bond more romantically if their trainer so wish.]
''You talk about bonds as if it was some sort of tangible thing and not just an emotional attachement.'' Robin said a bit confused. Ruby and Saphire looked at her aghast at the fact she didn't even know what a bond was. But Charlie looked at her with a sad understanding.
[I don't want to alarm you by saying this Robin. But I think the souls of all the humans back home are...incomplete. Something is missing from them and I think a lot of the deep-seated issues from our old home might all tie back to our incompleted souls. Humans back home knew the concept of bonding, but they never actually experienced it. Not properly anyway. Sharing a bond here is like sharing a bridge between two souls. You have such an intimate understanding of the other person or Pokémon you bonded with that you feel like you knew them from the moment they drew their first breath. Just telling you about it cannot do it justice.]
[The first time I developed a bond with my adoptive mother I tought I was going insane. I knew things about her that she never told me about. Like the fact she loved the color purple and that her favorite meal was grilled cheese sandwiches. I was freaking out, but she saw it as something natural and was happy that we finally bonded together. Being able to feel that you are loved and not just being told that you are, is a feeling that just cannot be put into words.]
When she was finished talking Charlie had tears streaming down her eyes. Ruby put the the Minccino in an embrace and gently pet the top of her head. Robin meanwhile was too busy reeling from what the Cinccino had told her. The Pokémon anime had always talked about the power of bonds. But she had never expected it would be this literal. Would she really be able feel something like that? Would someone ever love her enough for her to experience it? Was her soul even able to bond or was she still broken? Like everyone back home apparently were?
''No offense, you two, but your old worlds really sound fucked up if you can't even feel bonds...I'm happy you two managed to get out of there.'' Saphire said in a much more subdued tone than Robin was used to.
''I...think we've all got a bit emotional at the end there. How about we go to sleep and wake up refreshed tomorrow. Robin you can take the bed underneath Lee.'' Ruby said before putting said Minccino on the top bunk bed.
With all the talking they did Robin kind of completely forgot she was standing completely naked with two new kids. It was still a bit embarassing now that she was reminded of it. But not as much as she tought it would be. She didn't think she would ever be a permanent nudist. But sharing a room with a couple of them might not be so bad after all.
With that tought Robin flopped on her new bed and rapidly fell asleep. That night she dreamth she was flying in the night sky, free and naked. Not caring about silly things like social norms...
Before she knew it an entire week had passed since she started school. She was slowly getting used to her new routine and her new friends. She had learned that the blonde girl she definitely did not have a crush on, was called Sophia. She was one of the most popular girl in school due to her good look. But she acted like she didn't even know how famous she was most of the time.
The girls knew that Robin wanted to go on a Pokémon Journey since she said as much in front of the whole class. So they decided to share their dreams with her too.
Sophia wanted to go to a music school and learned as many instruments as she could. She loved music but hadn't yet found an instrument that clicked with her yet. But she was determined to find one.
School in the Pokémon world worked very differently than what Robin was used to on Earth. There was no such things as Middle School or High School here. There was only Elementary School which lasted between the age of five to twelve. Once you finished your Elementary School you either went to work immediatly if you're okay with some easy minimum waged job or went to a specialized school to learn a vocation of your choice.
The school system here only believed in giving a generalist education during childhood and considered it a waste of time to make teenagers waste their time until adulthood on education subjects they most likely won't ever use in day to day life. They tought it was way more productive to use that time to make students learn vocations they were actually interested in working in. And Robin couldn't help but agree and be jealous how much better this education system sounded compare to the one of her old world. She guessed that's what happen when the government was actually willing to pay for the education of future generations instead of wasting all their money in useless wars that helped nobody.
While some specialized schools took years of study to complete like law school or medecine school. Most specialized schools acted more like internships and gave you hands-on experience on the job you wanted to work in and only took a few months to a year before you earned a degree. As such it wasn't uncommon for students to go from one school to the next and earn a few degrees before properly entering the workforce. By the time you reached eighteen you could easily have earned between six to twelve degrees and have a secured future as a jack of all trade.
But that was assuming you went to study in specialized schools as soon as you finished elementary school. Most kids chose that time between schools to go on a Pokémon Journey instead. The many unlucky ones that couldn't make it in the competetive Pokémon's world came back a few years later and enrolled into a specialized school of their choice.
As such it was much more common for kids to start their journey at the age of twelve rather than at ten years old. But Robin was not willing to wait that long to start her adventure. Mundane jobs did not interest her at all. She knew she wanted to be a Trainer for the rest of her life. The only specialized school that might interest her would be the Pokémon Ranger's school. But she would only enroll there if she wasn't able to use her Pokémon training skills on anything else.
Giselle like Robin wanted to become a Pokémon Trainer. Unlike Robin however she was much mored interested in the competetive battle aspect. She wanted to become a Ghost Type specialist. Her plan was either to become the next Hoenn's champion or settle down as a new Ghost Type Gym Leader if she couldn't reach the top.
Rosie wanted to become a Pokémon breeder and buy a ranch where she could raise as many Pokémon as she wanted. Giselle being the crude girl that she was suggested she only wanted to become a breeder to watch Pokémon fuck. Rosie only shook her head in exhasperation, but had glowing red cheeks that she failed to hide.
The girl with messy brown haired who she learned was named Elisa. Didn't really have a career she wanted to pursue. Rather she only wanted to find a nice husband and settle down and have at least three children. Her plan was to go to a Trainer School after graduating. Not because she was actually interested in being a Pokémon Trainer. But because it was the closest thing to a generalist high school there was. Taking care of Pokémon required to be knowledgeable in many fields of subjects.
While you could go to a Trainer School as soon as you left Elementary School. It was widely accepted that a Rookie Trainers could hold their own without needing to go to a Trainer School. It was however recommended for any Trainer who managed to reach the rank of Veterant to pause their journey and go to a Trainer School for at least a year. Otherwise they might fall behind the other Trainers with much more experience and knowledge.
Giselle made her disdain for Elisa lack of ambition clear by scoffing at the girl. Elisa pursed her lips at the pale girl and the atmosphere betwen the two became somewhat tense for a while afterward. It was clear that the subject of Elisa becoming a house wife had been a subject of debate between the two.
Robin for her part was still struggling to find what she wanted to accomplish on her journey. For now she had settled on just challenging the gyms and going from there. But she didn't feel like that would be really fulfilling to her. The idea of just using Pokémon for violence, no matter how much they might enjoy it. Was just not that appealing to her.
Unbeknown to her she would soon find her true calling thanks to an unexpected request from one of her new roomates...
AN: This chapter and the next one were supposed to be part of the same chapter originally. But I decided to cut it here because it was becoming way too large. There should be only two more chapters left before Robin finish her school if everything goes according to plan.
I didn't intend for the school arc to last this long but I had too many ideas within the setting for exploring Robin's new feminity that I didn't want to be left untold. But thankfully it's wrapping up now and we'll have what everyone who read up a Pokémon story is here for, the journey.
