Forbidden Love

I kept looking at Cas as the black lines were still going up his face then I stole a glance at Bobby who was still knocked out, "Bobby?" I asked as Cas walked around

"How many of you ass-clowns are in there? Hundred? More?" Dean asked him and I looked at Cas as Bobby woke up, "Your vessel is gonna explode, ain't it? Wouldn't do anything too strenuous. In fact, I'd call it a day, head on home, huh?"

"We'll be back for you." Cas told him as his whole body started to ooze and he slowly walked out the door.

"Well, this is a new one." Bobby pointed out

"We need to find Sam." I said slowly getting up but winced as a sharp pain shot through my rib and I fell back down holding my side.

"Lexi?" Dean asked then him and Bobby helped me up

"I'm fine lets go." I told them and we walked out of the room turning down the hall seeing Sam there looking like he was in a daze.

"Sam? Sam? You hearing me?" Dean asked snapping him out of it, "Look at me. Hey. All right, we gotta button this up. Come on. Let's get out of here." Dean told him and we left the building following Cas's trail leading into the pubilc water system seeing him walking in it. Then he went under and we saw the water ripple as black liquid shoot out everywhere.

"Oh, hell." Bobby sighed

"Damn it." Dean says

"You said it. Those whatever-you-call-'ems." Bobby began

"Leviathan." I told him

"Right. If they're in the pipes they got themselves a highway to anywhere."

"Awesome." Dean said and I see Cas's coat floating in the water so I picked it up holding the tears back

"Okay. So he's gone." I pointed out and rolled it up

"Yup. Rest in peace. If that's in the cards." Bobby says

"Dumb son of a bitch." Dean said

"Well, he was friends with us, wasn't he? Can't get much dumber than that." Bobby pointed out and I closed my eyes, "Come on. Those things will be coming up for air soon." He tells us and we head back to the car.

"So ooze invasion. Any leads?" I heard Sam ask as me and Bobby walked into the living room.

"I got all my feelers out. Whatever they're up to it ain't about going Mothra down Main Street. They'll turn up. They seemed eager to stretch their legs, you know?" Bobby says wrapping up Sam's hand and I sat half way on the desk grunting in pain.

"Lexi?" Dean asked me

"Bruised rib. Nothing that a crap ton of pain relievers won't help."

"Yeah, well, now on to our other big problem. How are you doing? And do not say okay." Dean said to Sam

"I'm not okay."

"You think?" I asked him

"Hey, go a little easy." Bobby told us

"There's nothing easy about it, Bobby. We acted like he had things under control."

"I get it. I'm sorry. Look, I didn't exactly wanna crack up, you know?" Sam says

"What the hell happened back there?" I asked him

"Well, it's not just the flashbacks anymore."

"Well, then what?" Dean asked

"It's more like I'm seeing through the cracks."

"What does that mean?" I asked

"It means I'm having a difficult time figuring out what's real."

"Hallucinations?" Dean asked

"For starters."

"For starters, if you're tripping hell's bells, why would you hide that?" I asked him

"I wasn't hiding it, Lexi. I was just not talking about it. You three had enough going on as it was. Look, I just figured try to hold on to the safety bar and ride it out, you know? But it's getting more specific."

"As in specifically what?" Dean asked

"What the hell, Sam?" Dean asked him handing me a glass of whiskey after Sam told us everything.

"I told you."

"No, but seriously, how do you argue with that?" Dean asked

"I know. It's a problem."

"No, wait. I got it. Why would the devil holodeck you a new life? He could just kick your ass all over the cage." I point out

"Because, as he puts it: You can't torture someone who has nothing for you to take away."

"Okay, fine. But this Malibu dream mansion that he makes for you to take away is this post-apocalyptic mess?" Dean asked him and we see Sam look towards the kitchen like he's looking at something, "Wait, are you seeing him right now?" Dean asked and Sam nodded

"You know that he's not real, right?" I asked him

"He says the same thing about you."

"I'm going back to work." Bobby tells us and walks out.

"Well, at least he's not curled up under the sink." Bobby pointed out as we looked at sitting at Bobby's desk taking about his gun

"Yeah, no. He's just sitting there silently field-stripping his weapon." I point out and Dean walked over to Sam's coat, "What are you doing?" I asked him

"Turning on his GPS in case he decides to fly the cuckoo's nest."

"And you two? How are you doing?" Bobby asked us

"Seriously, Bobby, it ain't like he's hexed, you know. What if this is the crazy you can't fix?" Dean asked

"Yeah, I'm worried too, but humor me for a second. How are you?"

"Who cares? Don't you think our mailbox is full right now?" Dean asked him and Bobby gave him a look

"I'm fine."

"Right. And weren't you pissed at him when he said the same thing a couple of hours before he spilled his marbles all over the floor?" Bobby asked him

"Yeah, well I'm not Sam, okay? I keep my marbles in a lead freaking box. I'm fine, really."

"Of course. Yeah. Just lost one of the best friends you ever had, your brother is in the bell jar and purgatory's most wanted are surfing the sewer lines but, yeah, yeah, I get it, right. You're, uh You're fine." Bobby pointed out

"Good."

"Of course, if at any time you wanna decide that's utter horse crap I'll be where I always am, right here." Bobby told him and then looked at me, "Same goes for you."

"Well, you wanna do couples' yoga or get back to hunting the big bads?" Dean asked him

"Shut up. Idjit."

"Hey, there, Gunga Din. Buck up." Bobby tells Dean after he walked in from doing a food run.

"We got some bad news for a change. Stockville, North Kansas. Most of a school swim team got mangled to death in their locker room." Sam says

"Cop talk on the wire is kind of garbled. Saying it looks like some kind of wild animal attack. They're saying whatever attacked them is about the size of a linebacker." I add

"It's a lead, Dean." Sam mentioned

"If you thing you're going out on a hunt-"

"No, I know. I'm not. But you are. Look, Bobby is running the hub, I'm 5150'd, and Lexi needs to heal which leaves you to follow this thing up." Sam told him

"Sam you're in the middle of a psychotic break."

"It's a couple hours' drive and it could be a Leviathan thing." Sam said

"No, if you think I'm leaving you here alone-"

"Hey, what are me and Bobby? Chopped brains on toast? We can keep an eye on him. Go. Work off some of these nerves on something useful." I told Dean.

"Fine."

"I said, shut up!" Me and Bobby heard Sam yell as we walked into the kitchen.

"Hey, Sam. You, uh? You having a little bag lady moment?" Bobby asked him

"Sorry." Sam says and Bobby walked over to the fridge grabbing 3 beers then handed one to me then Sam, "Thanks. You know, after everything all these years, all that we've been through.."

"You beat the devil before, Sam." I mentioned to him

"It's kind of different, heh."

"Not really. You'll get a handle on this too. You will. You're not in hell anymore. You're here, with us." Bobby told him and I saw a worried look on Sam's face, "You hear me, Sam?"

"Yeah, I hear you, Bobby." Sam said and one of Bobby's phones rang

"Oh. Uh, that's my local. Hello." He answered and there was a pause, "Come again?" He asked, "Who is this?" He asked and paused, "Jody?"He asks and I looked at Sam then back at Bobby, "Gotcha." He said then hung up, "Well, either Sheriff Mills is having an Obamacare-insured opium dream or something is eating folks down at Sioux Falls General Hospital. Look, I don't wanna bruise your ego or anything, but.."

"No, no, no. It's okay. Go, go, go. I'll watch the phones." Sam tells him

"I'll stay too," I said and looked at Sam, "No offence Sam but I'm not ready to leave you alone just yet."

"Lexi.." He started to say

"I'm staying, deal with it." I said and he sighed, "Call if you need back up." I told Bobby and he left.

"Hey, Sam I think..." I started to say as I walked into the kitchen, but Sam wasn't there, "Sam?" I asked looking around the house, "Sam?!" I yelled but got no answer, "Damn it." I sighed then heard the door open and I saw Dean walk in.

"Sam?" He asked then saw me, "Hey where's Sam?"

"I don't know, I came up from the basement and looked everywhere."

"You were suppose to be watching him Lexi!" Dean yelled

"Well excuse me for trying to give him some space. So how about instead of biting my head off we track him?" I said and he sighed then pulled out his phone.

Me and Dean get out of the car at an old warehouse when we hear a gunshot go off then headed inside, "Sam? Sam!" Dean says as we see Sam standing there aiming his gun around.

"Sam, what are you doing?" I asked him and Sam points his gun at Dean who holds up his hands.

"Whoa, whoa!"

"I was with you, Dean!" Sam yelled

"Okay. Well, here I am."

"No. No, I don't, I..." Sam started to say and looked away then back at Dean, "I can't know that for sure. You understand me?"

"Okay, now we're gonna have to start small." I point out

"I don't remember driving here." Sam said then paused looking away then fired his gun at the wall away from us

"Whoa, whoa! Sam! This discussion does not require a weapons discharge!" Dean tells him. Sam is breaths heavily then lowers his weapon.

"Sam listen to me. Look at us." I tell him moving closer to him and Dean followed

"Come on. You don't know what's real? Look, I've been to Hell too. Okay, I know a thing or two about torture. Enough to know that it feels different. Than the pain of this – this regular, stupid, crappy this.."

"No, no. How can you know that for sure?" Sam asked

"Let me see your hand." I told him and reached out my hand then Sam reached out his right one, "No, no. The – the gimp hand! Let me see it." I tell him and Sam looked away but I grabbed his hand, "Hey. This is real. Not a year ago, not in Hell, now. Dean and I were with you when you cut it, I sewed it up! Look!" I said and squeezed Sam's bandaged hand. Sam began to raise the hand with the gun but Dean grabbed it, "This is different. Right? Then the crap that's tearing at your walnut? I'm different. Dean's different. Right?" I asked Sam and he takes his hands away but Dean keeps Sam's gun.

"Yeah, I think so." Sam says then looked away from us.

"Sam? Sam." Dean said and Sam pushes his right thumb against his wound, which bleeds through the bandage, Hey. Me and Lexi are your flesh-and-blood, okay? We're the only ones who can legitimately kick your ass in real time. You got away. We got you out, Sammy." Dean told him and Sam continues to push his thumb hard against his wound, "Believe in that! Believe us, okay? You gotta believe us. You gotta make it stone number one and build on it. You understand?" Dean asked him and Sam nods.

"Yeah. Yeah, okay." Sam nods again then his phone rings, "Bobby, hey." He said and there was a pause, "Leviathan here?" He asked then paused and hung up, "Bobby's got a live one."

"Okay, well let's go." Dean said and we left

"Look, when we get back to Bobby's–" Dean began to say as we drove to Bobby's.

"It's okay, Dean, I'm good. No white rabbits. I'm not seeing anything."

"Okay. Baby steps." I said putting my hand on Sam's shoulder giving it a light squeeze then we pulled up to Bobby's seeing smoke

"Oh no." Dean said and pulls up then we get out.

Dean and I walk out of the remains of the house as Sam walks over to us, "Any sign of him?" Sam asked and Dean holds up a blackened journal and tosses it behind him.

"That place was torched. Somebody knew what they were doing." I pointed out as we walk to the workshop

"You think Bobby was back there?" Sam asked

"I don't know." Dean said and holds up a hand to indicate that Sam search for Bobby to their right.

"Bobby!" Sam yelled and I head to the left

"Bobby!" I yelled looking around then see someone standing behind Sam, "Crap." I whispered moving back to the workshop and grabbed a shot gun running into Dean.

"What's going on?"

"One of them is here." I told him and he grabbed a shot gun too then we headed back to Sam

"Winchester. Congratulations. Apparently you three are competent enough to warrant annihilating. I'd take it as a compliment." The man said and I cocked my shot gun shooting him in the head before he could look at me but he straightens up, looks at the black ooze on his hand, then his face transforms.

"Oh that's just unsettling." I said then he knocked the gun away from me, grabbed my throat and threw me into a car making me go through the windows onto the other side knocking me out.

Dean POV...

"Lexi!" I yelled then went to shoot the leviathan but he knocks away my gun, then grabs me by the throat as well and throws me against a car, I feel a bone in my leg snap as I land on the ground and groaned is pain. Sam runs up and punches the guy in the face as I grabbed the lift control

"Dean, now!" Sam yelled and I push the button dropping the car as the guy hits Sam across the face with a metal bar then the car falls on the guy. I see Sam on the ground and slowly make my way over to him

"Sam." I said grabbing a hold of Sam's shirt and shook him a little, "Sammy? Hey, come on now. Come on, I'm the one with the broken leg, you got to carry me. Sam!" I yelled and heard groaning from the other side of the car, "Lexi!" I yelled but I couldn't move to get over to her, "Lexi!" I yelled but no answer so I pulled out my phone and dialed 911.

Lexi POV...

"Female, early 30's, head trauma." I heard someone say as my eyes slowly opened

"Sam? Dean?" I barely got out

"Ma'am, can you tell me your name?"

"Lex...Lex..Lexi." I slowly got out

"Try to focus on us okay?"

"My...my broth...brothers?" I asked but my eyes wanted to close

"Their in the other ambulance. We're taking you to Souix Falls General."

"Sou..No, no we...we can't go there." I tell him

"I'm sorry Ma'am but we don't have a choice. You and your brothers need help now."

"But.." I started to say as my eyes began to close and I saw someone else in the ambulance, "Cas?" I asked then passed back out.
