Chapter 5: Jacob's Birthday Bash
After a long day of celebrating Jacob's birthday, the kingdom of Arendelle wanted to conclude the day by having a big party for the queen's boyfriend. Night had fallen and everyone in the kingdom was celebrating in the grand ballroom. The citizens were conversing with each other about their own personal lives while having a good time. The last year had been filled with lots of parties for Arendelle seeing as how it had been sheltered and quiet for so long and it was a real pleasant change for everyone; especially Anna and Elsa. Elsa and the others had gone all out to make it seem like Jacob was as important as they were as far as someone like a king or queen being very important. Jacob himself was beyond flattered with how big a party this was and how everyone was celebrating him. He had honestly hadn't had a proper birthday party in a long time due to the fact he had been on his own for the last 6 or 7 years. They all sang happy birthday to him with 19 candles on the large chocolate cake that was brought in by Kristoff and Sven. After he blew out the candles, Olaf talked up to him and asked, "What did you wish for?". "I can't say, or else it might not come true.", he answered. The party continued on where everyone was either talking, eating, or dancing. Anna and Kristoff shared their usual romantic dance they did at every party. Meanwhile, Jacob seized an opportunity to get away from everyone by going out to the balcony to think about the amazing day that had occurred. He kept thinking how lucky he was that fate had led him here to a whole kingdom of people who made him feel loved and accepted and how they held a big party for his birthday. He had left his old home to find his own place out there and it looks like he finally found it and to share it with the perfect person. "Hey.", he heard a female voice say from behind. He turned around and saw it was Elsa. "Hey. What's up?", he asked as he gave her his attention. She walked over to where he was and responded, "Just making sure you're okay. I saw you make your way out here and wanted to see if anything was wrong.", she said. "No, I'm okay. I just needed some time to get away from all the party hype.", he answered. "I'm the same way. Even though, I'm glad to be one with the kingdom after more than a decade in isolation, I still need times where I need to escape. I hope you liked your birthday and your party.", she said. "Are you kidding, it was the best one I ever had! And it couldn't have been if it wasn't for you.", he told her. She held his hands in hers and said, "Well, I thought you really deserved a nice day to show you how much everyone in Arendelle cares for you even though you've only been here for almost 10 months. I especially just wanted to give you a good birthday after being alone for so long, just like I was. Like I said, it was all to show how much I love you.", she told him. "I know. I love you too. Thank you so much for all that you did for me today and making my birthday special.", he told her as they gave each other a warm smile. Both of them then got close and started to rub their noses together which made Elsa giggle happily. After that, they stared into each other's eyes before Jacob looked as if something was on his mind, "What's wrong?", she asked. "It's nothing, I guess. I was just thinking about something I talked to Wayne about last night.", he said. "What was that?", she asked. "I was thinking about how what he does and what made him choose this life had affected him so much and I asked if he was happy with his life. Or if this is what he wants to do with the rest of his life.", he said. "Well in the end, it's his choice what he does with his life. I'm sure him seeing his parents killed right in front of him at just 8 years old by a criminal messed him up. Just like what happened to me when I was 8. Nearly killing Anna really screwed with my life and hers and that trauma still kinda has a hold on me to this day. The only difference is, at least I had my parents around longer.", she said. "Yeah, but again, it's their fault how they helped you deal with your trauma that led to your outburst at your coronation.", he said. "Yeah, and the only times they ever paid any attention to me were when they told me to conceal it and don't feel it. Other than that, I pretty much had to deal with my problems on my own.", she said. "And that's why they failed you. Again, I know you don't like me talking bad about your parents and I'm sorry about that. But they should've helped you through your trauma more than they actually did. I'm sure they had good intentions and it was definitely nice that they did leave behind that note you found last Halloween, but still.", he said. "Anywho, I know you don't want to get into that again. My point is Batman said that he never counted on being happy and that just kinda makes me sad to hear that.", Jacob said. "I love that about you. How empathetic you are. But again, don't worry about him. Let's just enjoy tonight.", she said. "You're right. Let's head back in.", Jacob said. They held hands and went back into the party. Meanwhile outside the castle, a pink portal opened up that dropped off Black Mask and his entire gang. "Damn, that was a hell of a ride!", Roman said. "Hey, boss. We made it! This is it!", one goon said. Black Mask got back on his feet and looked both at the castle and the rest of the kingdom. "I gotta say this is a really nice place. It's got that quaint, old-timey charm. The castle is especially a beautiful structure. Much nicer than Gotham.", he said. "This place kinda looks Dutch to me.", one thug said. "No, I think it's more Nordic.", another guy said. "Whatever it is, it's gonna be ours soon. I think we better pay the castle owners a visit.", Roman said in an evil tone of voice as he and his gang began to march towards the castle.
