Chapter 23 - Volcano Badge
TEAM ROCKET HQ
Giovanni was going toward the helicopter, "Ready the chopper." He shouted to one of the henchmen, henchmen quickly on the switch, and became ready to drive the helicopter.
"We are going toward our island headquarters," He ordered, henchmen nodded, and took the helicopter toward their destination.
Giovanni was in a meeting with the Psychic Users Elite, he was really shocked to know that some Psychic users are alive, and after they met hands to each other to rule the world, he was really happy.
And he was also ready to double cross them after claiming the world, he was planning to destroy them, with help of the Mewtwo. He was really happy after the meeting, then he heard the latest incident, Mewtwo destroyed his island headquarters.
He did not mind the destruction of his headquarters. But he did not want to lose the Mewtwo, so he was going to take back the Mewtwo, before Mewtwo escaped.

Ash and friends reach the Safari Zone Garden. Warden gave them a Safari Ball and fishing rod, and he strictly warned them, they will only use Safari Ball to capture the Pokemon there, and they are prohibited from using their own Pokemon for capturing the Pokemon there.
Warden introduced himself as Kaiser. "If you break the rule, then I will shoot all of you," Kaiser again warned while showing a firearm.
Misty notices a picture, in which Kaiser holds a Dratini. She was about to take the pictures but before she took them, Kaiser snatched the picture while shouting there is no Dratini here.
"Why are you hiding just the pic of Dratini, I have already seen the Dratini Pokemon with someone. And we will also not harm the Pokemon there, you can believe in us," Ash started.
"What, have you seen the Dratini Pokemon?" Kaiser asked in a shocked voice.
"Yes, I have already seen the Dratini Pokemon with a group," Ash nodded.
"Can you introduce them to me," Kaiser asked.
"Why are you so focused on Dratini?" Ash asked.
Then Kaiser explained to them, "Once upon a time, a Dratini was really living here, and many people came there to see Dratini. But some have even tried to catch the Dratini, and just for catching her, they nearly destroyed the Safari Zone. After seeing the evilness of the human, Dratini vanished from here and never returned back. From then on, I tried very strictly to protect both Safari Zone and rare Pokemon here."
Ash and friends promised to him, they would not harm the Safari Zone in any way, and then, they lived in the Kaiser's office. It was so much fun to see the new Pokemon for Ash, he also managed to capture the hordes of Tauros by fearing them by the sound of a gun. He needs thirty Pokeball to capture the total Tauros.
And he was going to capture his 31 Pokemon with the Safari Ball. Then they suddenly hear the explosion, Ash going to find what is happening there, and after seeing Team Rocket idiots. He understands what's just happening there. Team Rocket is holding the Zap Cannon, and with the help of it, they will hurt the Pokemon, which reside in the lake.
Pikachu blasted the Zap Cannon, and foiled the plan of Team Rocket. But Team Rocket came there with the full proof plan. Meowth throws the two bombs in the lake. And quickly taking the action, Ash dive in the lake and manage to destroy the first bomb, but he nearly misses the second bomb, which Kaiser destroyed.
Then, Team Rocket finally shows their main weapon, a Zap Cannon Bomb and goes to throw it on the lake. But before they could succeed in throwing the bomb, a storm appeared, and it destroyed the Zap Cannon Bomb, blasting off Team Rocket.
Everyone noticed, a Dragonite recently appeared there on the lake, and she saved the Safari Zone. The Dragonite takes Ash out of the water, just as it did when it was a Dratini, saving Kaiser. The Warden is overjoyed that Dratini has returned and he has successfully protected both the Pokemon and Safari Zone.
But before he could enjoy more, he noticed a group of one boy and three girls coming there, followed behind them, were many rare Pokemon. The Dragonite, goes to a girl to get praised by her.
"They are Azlan, Sabrina, Freya and Elysia. I am talking about them, when I saw Dratini with them, but now it evolved into Dragonite," Ash introduced them.
Azlan was also a little shocked, from the time when he started his journey, they have met with the Ash many times now.
"So the Dratini is already chosen as the trainer," Kaiser asked in a sad tone.
"Yep, and we were just passing this place towards Cinnabar Island, but then Dragonite wanted to visit you, so we just came here," Azlan replied.
Then Dragonite flew away from there towards inside the Safari Zone, and when she returned, she had two Pokemon Eggs, which she gave one to Ash, and another to Kaiser.
Kaiser became so happy, after getting the egg, he gave good wishes to Azlan and Ash in his upcoming Gym match and the Pokemon tournament.
Ash and Azlan's groups leave the Safari Zone, Azlan goes towards Cinnabar Island, while Ash stops at a Pokemon Centre, and with the help of a trading machine. He sends back all of his Tauros to Professor Oak, who trample over the Professor in a stampede. They continue their journey.
TEAM ROCKET DESTROYED HQ
Mewtwo was learning about the environment, and many things around him. Then he noticed a helicopter was coming there, and stopped beside him. A man came down from the helicopter. He was Giovanni, leader of Team Rocket.
"What do you want?" Mewtwo asked with his telepathy.
"I want to teach you about the world, and their Pokemon. I see you are so confused, and want to learn about this world. If you come with me, I will teach you everything about this world," Giovanni promised to teach him about the world.
Mewtwo found it interesting, and then he left with Giovanni. Giovanni is smiling inside his mind, because he is successfully able to bring back Mewtwo, the world strongest Pokemon.
UNKNOWN PLACE
Mew was about to go to the Mewtwo, but suddenly his signal dropped, cause she lost the current place of Mewtwo. She did not understand what just happened recently, and why the Mewtwo location was changed. If someone really caught him, or he left by himself. Or Giovanni got his hand caught on the Mewtwo, if it happens, then it was really a bit of a dangerous situation.

Azlan, Sabrina, Elysia and Freya finally reached Cinnabar Island. "Where is the Cinnabar Gym?" Azlan asked while searching for all of Cinnabar Island. He didn't find the Gym anywhere. But many tourists were there.
"Cinnabar Gym is there, where do you put your sunglasses?" A man came and said, he introduced himself as the Riddle Master.
"In front of your eye
"This was a tricky question," Azlan comments, as he was thinking, where do the people put the sunglasses?
"Answer is, 'in front of your eyes'," Elysia answered.
"Well done, that's the true answer, Blaine's Gym is in front of your eyes, here that's," The riddle guy replied, and pointed his fingers towards a house, which was completely broken.
Seeing the Gym was closed and broken, "Why was the Gym closed, it was really weird?" Azlan asked, "Now, I need to travel to Viridian City."
"This Gym was not always closed, but due to crowds of tourists coming to the island instead of the Trainers. And due to the lack of serious trainers. The Gym Leader shifted his Gym to some other place. Or if you want to know where the Gym is now located, just solve my second riddle," The Riddle Master gives them a card and goes from there.
"What did he give?" Freya asked.
"He gave a card of Big Riddle Inn, a riddle was written on it," Azlan answered.
"What riddle is written?" Sabrina asked.
"It said 'if you see on the swing side, you will see my hands or my face', it's very weird," Azlan said.
"First we need to find where the swing is," Freya guessed, everyone nodded, and they went to a public park.
"Here we can see the swing, but there are not any hands or face is," Sabrina replied, as they were looking towards the swing side.
Elysia started thinking, then she focused on a big wall clock nearby in a house, "The answer is the clock, in the clock, you can see it hands and face. That's the place where he gives us the way to the Gym."
Freya, Sabrina and Azlan clapped for her, and followed her advice, and went towards the wall clock house.
"Once again Elysia, you gave the right answer," The Riddle Master was impressed by Elysia.
"Now, the last riddle is that, 'the place is filled with lava, and hotter than you think. It was near a mountain.' If you solve this, you can find the Cinnabar Gym." Riddle Master gives the clues about the real Gym's secret location.
After trying to solve the riddle, they find the first clue is the Gym was near a mountain. And in Cinnabar Island, only one mountain was there, Azlan and his wives went to the nearby mountain.
They find, mountain was not only a simple mountain, but it was the Volcano. And they solved their second clue, that must be the Gym was here anywhere, because this place was hotter than anyone thought.
And after some trying, with the help of Sabrina, they finally understand that the Gym was inside of the Volcano. When they went inside of the Gym, it was very hot.
They go inside of the Volcano, where they find the door to Cinnabar Gym was quite similar to Gym Leader types or his situation, the arena was made on the lava.
"I am really impressed that you found the Cinnabar Gym, it shows you have the passion and seriousness to do Gym Battle. Which causes you to do the battle even inside of Volcano," The Riddle Master comes on the Gym Platform, which was made inside the Volcano.
"Yes, I want to do the Gym Battle, but why are you here, where is the Gym Leader?" Azlan asked as the same Riddle Master came inside.
"It's not a hat but it keeps your head dry. If you wear it, it means you've already lost it, guess this," The Riddle Master answered.
"It's not a hat, but it keeps your head dry, I think it is an umbrella," Sabrina guessed.
"No, this is not an umbrella, but it is a wig, the only person wearing the wig, who has lost their hair. And if I am thinking right, then the Blaine, Gym Leader of Cinnabar Gym is, who is wearing the wig. Am I right?" Elysia said, as she pointed her finger on the Riddle Master.
"I am really impressed Elysia," The Riddle Master removed his wig, and showing that he was already bald, he introduced himself as the Gym Leader of Cinnabar Gym. His name was Blaine, and it makes them understand how the Riddle Master was able to give them the exact location of Cinnabar Gym.
"Who wants to do the Gym Battle?" Blaine asked.
Azlan walked on the Arena, "I am Azlan Starwind, and I have come here to challenge you for the Volcano Badge!" Azlan challenged the Gym Leader.
"I accepted your challenge, Azlan!" Blaine accepted the challenge, then he informed the rule, "This is an official League Gym battle, between the challenger Azlan Starwind, and me, Blaine, Cinnabar Island Gym leader. This is a 3 on 3 battle. Only the challenger may substitute, if you eady, then we begin the battle."
Blaine looked across at Azlan. He could see this trainer was going to be no push over. He threw a ball onto the field. "Ninetales lets go!" The ball opened up to reveal a beautiful looking fox type Pokemon. It was yellow in color and its tail split into nine different ones. It let out a pleasant growl before waiting for her challenge.
Azlan looked at Ninetales, he turned towards the Charmeleon, "You're up buddy." Charmeleon leapt on the arena, with Azlan's command.
"Charmeleon, use Smokescreen," Hearing Azlan's command, Charmeleon released the smokes around all over the arena making Ninetales unable to see anything.
Ninetales became confused, because she is not able to see anything around it, Blaine was impressed by the attack, "Ninetales, use Nasty Plot, let smoke fade away by itself."
Ninetales closed her eyes and meditated. Her eyes then snapped open as she felt her special attack rise by two stages, while the smoke started fading away.
Azlan grinned. Blaine had no clue what he was planning. Well it would cost him, "You know what to do, Iron Tail followed by Dragon Breath." Charmeleon quickly understands, and his tails start glowing silver.
He then jumped in the air, in the mid-air, his tail pointing down, he hit the battle field creating a small earthquake. Blaine's eyes widened. He watched his Ninetales take a fair bit of damage, not from the Iron tail, but the quake it had caused.
After it Charmeleon opened his mouth and started releasing the continuous ball made of Dragon Breath, before even Ninetales could even stand properly.
Ninetales gritted her teeth, that last attack caused some serious damage and Charmeleon released the next attack. The Dragon Breath hit Ninetales and caused the fox Pokemon to cry out in pain before falling with swirls in her eyes.
"You battle very well Azlan, and caught me off guard with that strategy, but now see some real speed. Arcanine I choose you!" Blaine recalled back his Ninetales. He threw his next Pokeball on the field.
The ball opened up to reveal a large dog type Pokemon. It was orange and with black stripes. Had its feature been more feline in appearance then it could have been mistaken for a tiger.
Its red eyes blazed as it bared its teeth at the Chameleon in front of it. Azlan wasted no time, and commanded, "Charmeleon, use Ember."
However before Charmeleon could even make a move Azlan heard Blaine counter shouting. "Extreme Speed." Azlan watched as Arcanine vanished in a blink of an eye, causing the Ember attacked to miss. And then Arcanine delivered a powerful tackle causing Charmeleon to cry out in pain as it was launched toward the edge of the battlefield.
Azlan was worried that Charmeleon was going to fall off. However, just then an automatic fence rose between Chameleon and the edge of the field. "Charmeleon, Fire Fang now!" Charmeleon charged his cheeks with the fire that appeared on his body all gathered towards his mouth, he was ready to jump on the Arcanine.
"Arcanine, use Extreme Speed to dodge, then Flare Blitz," Arcanine leapt out-of-the-way from Charmeleon, causing Charmeleon to miss his attack.
And then he covered itself with fire. It then charges straight into Charmeleon, and attacks him, causing the Charmeleon to nearly faint.
But then suddenly, a glow started over, and when the glow was over. Now, in place of Charmeleon, a draconic, bipedal Pokemon stood. It is primarily orange with a cream underside from the chest to the tip of its tail. It has a long neck, small blue eyes, slightly raised nostrils, and two horn-like structures protruding from the back of its rectangular head.
There are two fangs visible in its upper jaw when its mouth is closed. Two large wings with blue-green undersides sprout from its back, and a horn-like appendage juts out from the top of the third joint of each wing.
A single wing-finger is visible through the center of each wing membrane. His arms are short and skinny compared to its robust belly, and each limb has three white claws. It has stocky legs with cream-colored soles on each of its plantigrade feet. The tip of its long, tapering tail burns with a sizable flame, it was Charizard.
"Charizard, use Flamethrower followed by the Air Slash," Azlan commanded. He was happy that the Charmeleon evolved, but since he was in the middle of the battle, he first gave the command.
Charizard opened his mouth, and then he started releasing the massive fire continuously on Arcanine, without giving any chance of him dodging the attack. And before even Arcanine reorganized himself, Charizard attacked with his wing from where he stood.
And then the air taking the shape of X cross hits the Arcanine, leaving him no chance to stand again. Azlan noticed the Arcanine yelped once more, before it fell down with swirls in his eyes.
"I commend you young man, this was your really lucky charm, that's your Charmeleon evolved in the end moment. But now, you are going to face a danger. Only a few trainers have forced me to use this Pokemon. Because it was my trump card, go Magmar," Blaine recalled back his Arcanine. But he didn't throw the Pokeball, everyone was confused, why didn't he throw the Pokeball.
But soon they found the answer, a Pokemon came out from the inside of the lava, and he climbed on the battlefield of the Gym. It was a strong-looking Magmar, filled with the fiery spirit of the fire.
Blaine's eyes locked on Charizard, then he grinned. "Magmar gets in close, use Thunder Punch," he commanded, Magmar charged forward, both fists now filled with electricity.
It jabbed left and right at the Charizard, who was now trying to dodge the various punches. However it wasn't quick enough and one of the fists hit him right in his chest.
Azlan was going to order the Charizard for the next attack, but before he commanded them, they noticed that someone had come uninvited.
"What are you guys doing here?" Blaine asked the newly appeared guys, these people wear the same uniform written R on their shirts. They are the Team Rocket henchmen.
"You will pay for your sins, how dare you to betray us," One of them shouted, and threw a Pokeball, from which Gyarados appeared. Others also send the Pokeball, from it Gengar, Dewgong, Onyx and some other Pokemon appeared.
"Gengar, use Night Shade," After hearing the commands, Gengar was going to attack. But before he did anything, every person and Pokemon of Team Rocket stopped in their place for a few seconds.
Everyone on Team Rocket was confused, how they were stopped. Then they noticed two girls' eyes were glowing, as they were looking towards Team Rocket.
"Lucario, use the Aura Sphere," Azlan commanded, while Blaine ordered Magmar to attack. Sabrina also ordered her Pokemon to attack Team Rocket.
With the effort of Blaine, Azlan, Sabrina, Elysia and Freya, Team Rocket was blasted. But everything became worse inside of the Gym, because the attack just now, made the Volcano destabilized, and it was going to be blasted. And the Lava of Volcano can destroy Cinnabar Island and the people there.
Magmar and Blaine's other Pokemon start stabilizing the Volcano's temperature from going to be blasted. Azlan's also taking precautions about it, he also sends his Pokemon to help there. Elysia's Pokemon also joins the Azlan and Blaine's Pokemon team. Sabrina and Freya also send every Pokemon to help.
And this teamwork will work, cause they are able to save the entire Island by putting back the lava of volcano inside their place, but it nearly destroyed half of the gym.
"My Gym was destroyed, and for this I am going to stop the battle, if you want to continue the battle, then we need to battle on the top of the volcano," Blaine explained his situation.
"I am ready for battle, anywhere, but first tell me, why did Team Rocket attack you, and call you traitor," Azlan asked.
"Well about this…. I used to be a scientist for Team Rocket," Blaine replied.
"You have worked for Team Rocket!" Azlan asked in a shocked tone.
"Yes, I have worked with them, although I have already left before the work started. It was about a Legendary Pokemon Mew, whose DNA was collected by Team Rocket. And from it they wanted to create a stronger Pokemon, which I didn't like, so I left Team Rocket," Blaine explained his reason.
"Okay, then let's go on the top of Volcano," Azlan said, as he brought back everyone focused on the current situation.
Azlan and Blaine go to the top of Volcano. "Since you are full of energy, then let's continue the heated battle! Magmar, use Fire Punch!" Blaine said, as they were ready for the continuation.
"Use your Fire Punch, as well, Charizard!" Azlan commands back. Both Pokemon enveloped their arms and fists in fire. They then charged forward and swung at each other. Each of their fists made contact with the other one, causing an eruption of flames to break out between them, shielding the two Pokemon from their trainer's view.
Once the flames died down, they could see Charizard and Magmar grappling with each other, trying to get an edge over the other. Despite Charizard being a little bigger than Magmar, that didn't prove Magmar was any less strong.
"Use Fire Blast, Magmar." Blaine smirked. Magmar took a deep breath and blew a massive fire attack from its mouth. Charizard was hit at point-blank range and roared in pain despite the attack not being very effective.
Magmar jumped off Charizard's back while Charizard clawed at his face in pain. Fire Blast to it's face really hurt. "Use Fire Punch again, Magmar!" Blaine smiled. Magmar charged up its fists, before running forward and striking Charizard right in the stomach with no interference this time, it caused the Charizard to lose his balance and fall into lava.
"You have put up a fine fight and are definitely a great trainer, Azlan!" Blaine said, drawing his attention back to him. "However, it looks like my Magmar has won this battle. If Charizard isn't out of the lava within the next ten seconds, I will call the match, and victory will goes to me."
Just then, the lava began to stir once again. Blaine watched in curiosity to see what happened, Azlan gave a small smile before saying, "Charizard, use Seismic Toss." Blaine was surprised, he noticed Charizard burst out of the lava at high speed, he took the Magmar and flew to the sky.
Then he started spinning downward and when he was near to ground he threw the Magmar with full speed, Magmar crashed to the ground and fainted, Charizard gave a roar of victory.
"Magmar is unable to battle. The winner is the Charizard and seeing how all 3 my Pokemon are out, this victory will go to the challenger Azlan Starwind," Blaine took out the Volcano Badge and handed it over to Azlan. "You truly deserve it, I will also not be shocked if you win this whole Pokemon league."
He praised him and give the Volcano Badge. Azlan takes the Badge and sits on the Charizard back telling him to land in front of his friends, Charizard takes him back to land, where he shows his badge to his friend.
"I have won the Volcano Badge, now only one last badge is left," He said, and everyone nodded, also congratulating him for his victory, as they became ready for their next journey towards the Viridian City.
TUSHIRO TOBI'S PALACE
Here everyone has already arrived there, and gives the latest news of what is going on in the world. "From our latest report, we find that, Giovanni Island HQ was destroyed by the Mewtwo, the same Pokemon, which they will created." Neji gives the information to everyone.
"And, the Mewtwo nearly escaped, Giovanni lost his secret weapon, which helped us to rule the world. We were just going to end our friendship toward Team Rocket," Kushina explained the current situation.
"But then, Giovanni got back his hand on the Mewtwo, which he called the World strongest Pokemon," Karin gives the latest news.
"And, it looks like we are ready to strike on the world," Choji said.
"Yes, but I am just waiting for the Psychic princess, we just need to wait for Himawari and Sarada, and if they succeed, then we strike on the world, and take it by force, IN THE NAME OF SHIRA TOBI," Tushiro's shouted, and everyone roared with him. "In the name of Shira Tobi."
