Hello again, everyone! If you're a returning viewer, allow me to welcome you back! If not, then I welcome you!

So far, a lot has happened to my OC Flare the Hedgehog in the first chapter, and now we're about to see what happens next in chapter 2! I know the last chapter didn't have too much action, other than Flare being sent to Sonic's world by Synth's powers, but I promise you that there'll be a lot more coming up next. In this chapter, Flare will be giving Sonic and the gang an explanation as to how things went wrong in his world, and it all began with one event that set it all in motion! There'll be a big flash-backing moment that'll tell us exactly how it all went down, so look forward to it!

When I first wrote this story, the grammar wasn't as good as it is now, but that was years ago. Now, I feel more confident in writing, and I'm loving how I'm able to make this story as great as it should be! I hope you think so, too.

Anyway, before I finish up, I have to say that I do not legally own the rights to Sonic the Hedgehog, but I do own my story and the OCs affiliated with it. So, with that being said, here's the second chapter! I hope you all enjoy it!

Sonic Flare!

Chapter 2: Countdown to Awakening

~Sonic's Dimension, Cream's House, Evening Time~

With everything that had happened, it felt that the day had gone by almost suddenly as the sun began to set over the horizon, turning the sky from blue to orange as Tails and the others waited for Sonic to return with Flare at Cream's house. Though it appeared Tails, Cream, and Cheese were keeping their thoughts off them, Amy couldn't so much as she gazed out the window and waited almost quietly for Sonic to return with a slightly worried expression. Eventually, Cream ran out into the room Amy was in and noticed her worry.

"What's the matter, Amy?" she asked, which surprised Amy as she turned her head towards her.

"Oh, it's nothing, Cream." She answered with a slight smile, but immediately lost it when she turned her head back to the window. "It's just that Sonic should've been back by now. I hope he's okay."

"I'm sure he'll be just fine." Cream admitted this as he walked over to Amy and smiled. "If anyone would be okay going after that stranger, it'd be Mr. Sonic, right?"

"I suppose, but the way that guy was acting earlier..." Amy then thought back on how strange Flare acted after he woke up and before he ran off into the nearby forest, which started to make Amy upset again. "Whatever is wrong with him, he better not have hurt Sonic!"

"You think he would do such a thing?" Cream asked curiously.

"Who knows?" Amy sighed, then threw her arms around frantically with her eyes shut, which surprised Cream. "It's just that this whole thing is driving me crazy! First that weird guy shows up, ruining my day at the beach, and now Sonic's taking too long to get him!"

"Maybe you need to get your mind off of everything." Cream stated calmly, then smiled again. "Why not join me and Tails in the living room? Mama made snacks for us."

Knowing that Cream was only trying to help, Amy let out another sigh and calmed down, then smiled. "All right, Cream," she said, then walked away from the window. "Maybe you're right. I just need to get my mind off of this; otherwise, I'll drive myself even crazier about it."

With a smile and her eyes closed happily, Cream nodded in agreement. However, when she reopened her eyes, she gasped in surprise and pointed towards the window, which caused Amy to stop in her tracks and turn around to see none other than Sonic with Flare walking towards the house.

"It's Sonic!" exclaimed Amy before she ran to the door to head outside.

"And he's brought the stranger back with him!" Cream added before she was surprised Amy had already taken off and ran after her. "I better tell Tails!"

Outside, Sonic and Flare were nearing the door to Cream's house, but, to their surprise, Amy rushed out and gave Sonic a hug, which startled him. "Sonic! Thank goodness you're all right!" she exclaimed with her eyes shut tight, though Sonic tried to break out of her grip.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, Amy! Geez!" Sonic stated as he managed to break out of Amy's hug.

"I was starting to worry!" she admitted with her eyes reopened, which she had turned towards Flare with a bit of anger. "And I was starting to think you might've done something to hurt him!"

"What?! Me?!" Flare was surprised and sweat dropped. "I would never...!"

"He's right. He really wouldn't." Sonic smiled to ease Amy's worry. "We talked, and he's not a bad guy. In fact, he's quite the opposite."

Of course, that came as a bit of a surprise to Amy after all her time in worried thought, but before she could say anything else, Tails, Cream, and Cheese ran outside to find them together. "Sonic!" shouted Tails, catching the trio's attention as he, Cream, and Cheese stopped alongside Amy. "What happened? Everything all right?"

"Everything's fine, Tails." Sonic gave his friend a reassuring thumbs up, then turned his gaze towards Flare. "Our friend here just happened to have been through a lot and lost his stack earlier because of it. That's all."

"Uh, yeah, right..." Flare was surprised for a moment, but then he closed his eyes and bowed in respect to everyone. "I'm really sorry about the way I acted before."

"You ought to be." Amy glared towards him, but then smiled and closed her eyes happily before giving Sonic another hug, but one that wasn't as strong as the last one. "But I forgive you. Since Sonic here apparently set you straight."

Embarrassed, Sonic chuckled and grinned while scratching the side of his head with a finger, but as Flare reopened his eyes at them, he couldn't help but wonder in thought about the way Amy acted. 'Wow. She reminds me a lot of someone I know back home,' but then he sweated at the idea. 'But she's clearly clingier than her. Much more, if even.'

"Well, as long as everything's sorted out." Tails rubbed the back of his neck and smiled slightly.

"Hmm?" Cream noticed something before pointing it out with her finger towards Sonic and Flare. "Hey, either I'm seeing things, or does Mr. Sonic and our new friend here have almost the same face?"

Cheese was the first one to be surprised by Cream's statement, but as Tails and Amy looked closely at Sonic and Flare's faces themselves, they too were surprised when they'd noticed the resemblance between them. "You're right, Cream! They do look almost exactly alike!" exclaimed Tails, a bit taken aback by it.

"I thought this stranger here looked closely like Sonic, but now that I've seen them together up close...!" Amy exclaimed, just as surprised.

"Oh, if you think that's surprising, wait till you hear the things he told me about!" Sonic laughed with his eyes closed, but then reopened them as he pointed a thumb towards Flare. "Turns out, our new friend here's from a world similar to ours but completely different!"

"NO WAY!" the others shouted, surprised, but Flare nodded and grew a serious expression about it.

"But it's true. Let me properly introduce myself. My name is Flare. Flare the Hedgehog. And..." He then turned his head towards Sonic. "I'm afraid there are a lot of other things I haven't told you about."

Sonic was surprised as he turned to face Flare's serious expression, but it didn't take long for his smile to return and wink before he gave him a thumbs up. "Then why don't we all go inside and hear the rest of your story? Sound good?" he asked, which slightly surprised Flare, but the red hedgehog smiled and nodded in agreement.

Once everyone was back inside Cream's house, they got together in the living room as Vanilla brought in snacks and drinks for everyone, including Flare as he sat on a sofa with Cream and Cheese, while Tails and Amy sat in a separate one, and Sonic sat on a chair. "Here you are, sweetie." Vanilla smiled as she offered Flare juice in a cup, which slightly surprised him, but he accepted it.

"Uh, thank you," he said as he looked up at her. "And I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier. I hope I didn't scare you too badly."

"Oh, don't you worry about it." Vanilla closed her eyes happily and made a gesture with her hand to brush what happened off before she reopened her eyes. "I've been frightened by things that were much worse in my life, so I'm quite used to it."

Flare's eyes widened in response and sweat dropped at the older Mobian rabbit as she leaves everyone alone in the living room. "Uh, okay?" he grinned and chuckled nervously. "That's... reassuring...?"

"So, are you going to tell us exactly how you got here or what?" Amy crossed her arms, slightly annoyed from waiting.

"Amy!" Tails exclaimed, surprised by how she was acting.

"What? I'm getting sick and tired of all this waiting!" she stated.

"Just chill out, Amy." Sonic chimed in; his words alone somehow calmed Amy down before he turned his attention back onto Flare. "Now then, why don't you start by telling us how you got here?"

"Right." Flare replied before taking a quick sip of his drink, then let out a relaxed sigh with his eyes closed. "I was sent here because of him."

"And who's him?" asked Sonic curiously as Flare reopened his eyes.

"Synth..." Flare then started to flash back in his mind about some of the things Synth has done to his world. "He's an entity of pure darkness. Ever since he showed up, he's caused nothing but destruction everywhere he went."

Upon hearing about Synth, Sonic and the others were surprised, but they were also curious to know more about him. "Is he really that bad?" Sonic asked, which resulted in Flare gritting his teeth in anger.

"He's the worst! Didn't you hear what I just said?" He surprised Sonic and the others. "No matter where he went, chaos followed! If you could only see the state he has left my world in, you'd understand! He blocked out the sun, he destroyed so many places with his monsters, and he destroyed almost all life on the planet!"

"That's terrible!" exclaimed Cream, shocked by what she was hearing, along with Cheese.

"He's done all that damage by himself?" asked Tails as he took a moment to think about it. "This Synth guy sounds very powerful."

"You got that right." Flare replied before looking at his reflection in his drink cup. "Synth's capable of manipulating dark energy. Not only that, we discovered that he's also some kind of telepath. He can control things around him with his mind and use his dark energy to create monsters because of it, and he's somehow able to penetrate the minds of others. And that's not even the worst part."

"What can be worse than all of that?!" asked Amy, a bit frightened by the powers Synth possessed.

"Synth also has this strange way of manipulating reality around him." Flare added. "We think it goes with his psychic abilities, but we're still uncertain. And I think it was because of that that he was able to send me here somehow."

"You mean in that strange energy sphere that appeared on the beach earlier?" asked Tails as he flashed back to when the dark energy appeared on the beach and Flare fell out of it before it vanished.

"That's right." Flare answered. "I'm not sure how he did it, but he somehow found a way to send me here. To a "different reality," he said. I thought he was just trying to mess with my mind again, but it looks like he meant what he said."

Flare then sighed sadly, knowing that if he was in Sonic's world, he wouldn't be able to stop Synth from causing any more damage to his world, and everyone could sense the sadness and distress he was giving off. There was a moment of silence, until Sonic decided to break it. "How did he come to your world?" he asked, which caught everyone's attention. "It doesn't sound like he's naturally from your world, is he?"

"Not at all." Flare picked up his head and grew a serious expression. "He came to my world months ago. My old nemesis, Dr. Magnus, was the one responsible for bringing that psychopath into our world."

"Hold up." Sonic held a finger up to stop Flare for a moment. "Did you just say your nemesis was someone named Dr. Magnus?"

"Yeah." Flare was slightly surprised by his question. "What? Do you know him or something?"

"No, but we do have a crazy doctor trying to take over the world here." Sonic stated this as he crossed his arms and smirked. "We call him Eggman. Or, as I like to call him, old Egghead."

"Eggman?" Flare asked, confused. "That is a very strange name."

"I know, right?" Sonic chuckled and grinned. "In comparison, your guy sounds a bit better. Hard to make fun of a name like Magnus."

"Oh, we found a way." Flare chuckled and smirked. "We call him old Magnutt."

"That's a good one!" Sonic laughed hysterically, and it didn't take long for Flare to join him as they both had their eyes shut as they let out, which left Tails and the others to watch them with wide eyes at what they were talking about.

"You know, I'm starting to notice something here," said Tails as he watched how Sonic and Flare acted.

"What is it, Tails?" asked Cream curiously.

"Sonic and Flare not only have similar faces, but the way they're acting is almost alike as well." Tails stated, which slightly surprised Amy, Cream, and Cheese. "Not only that, but they both have a nemesis who's an evil scientist like Eggman."

"That's just too bizarre," replied Amy, a bit taken aback by the things Tails pointed out.

"Exactly." Tails continued to think about it. "Therefore, I think Sonic and Flare, though they're from two different dimensions, could easily be different-dimensional counterparts."

"No way!" Amy exclaimed in shock. "You can't be serious!"

"That does sound like it could be true. Could it?" Cream asked in shock, along with Cheese.

"Although, I'm not entirely sure if it's all true or not." Tails added but continued to think about it. "It's just my personal opinion, though I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be true."

"Well, you're usually never wrong about these things, Tails." Cream admitted and smiled, and so did Cheese, which made Tails smile with embarrassment and scratch the back of his head.

"Heh... Thanks, Cream." Tails thanked the young Mobian rabbit, though Amy was now thinking about it as she crossed her arms and watched as Sonic and Flare finished up their laugh fest.

"Oh jeez..." Flare held a hand over his chest with his eyes shut to try and hold back the tears that resulted from the hard laughter. "I haven't laughed like that in a long time."

"Sure felt like you needed it." Sonic grinned with his eyes closed, but then reopened them and grew a serious expression just as Tails, Cream, and Cheese also turned their attention back towards them. "But let's get back to the topic at hand here. Exactly how did your crazy scientist manage to bring someone as powerful as this Synth guy to your world?"

Though Flare was taken by surprise at first, he then let out a sad sigh as the memories of the day Synth came to his world began to flow through his mind. "Well, it wasn't exactly intentional," he stated. "You see, it all began when he was searching for the last Chaos Emerald, he needed to finish his newest machine."

"Wait..." Sonic's eyes widen in shock at what Flare said. "Did you just say... Chaos Emeralds?!"

"You have Chaos Emeralds in your world too?!" Tails asked, also surprised, along with Amy, Cream, and Cheese as Flare nodded in reply.

"I do. And it sounds like you guys do as well," he said before he went back to his explanation. "Magnus was on the verge of collecting all seven emeralds, but my friend Pyro found the last one before he did. However, he took the emerald and abducted her, taking her back to his island fortress. That was when it all got crazy."

~Flare's Dimension, Magnus' Island Fortress, Day Time~

(Four months ago...)

Before Synth arrived in Flare's world, it was just like Sonic's. It was full of life, and the sun shined brightly across the land. However, on a far-off island, Flare's nemesis, Dr. Magnus, had built a large mechanical fortress that took up a large majority of the island's land. There, the evil doctor had taken Flare's friend Pyro hostage and was seen taking her into the main room.

Magnus appeared to be human, just like Sonic's Dr. Eggman, but, unlike Eggman, he had a skinnier figure and appeared to be in his mid-twenties. Also, unlike Eggman, instead of a very bushy mahogany mustache, he had wild black hair that would depict him as a mad scientist, as it was all over the place. However, like Eggman, he wore a black jacket coat that was unzipped with red trim lines, black fingerless gloves with the back of his hands exposed, as well as black one-piece pants with matching boots with silver accents and buttons. Under his jacket coat, he had a black shirt that was connected to his pants, and he also had a pair of circular-shaped goggles with grey trim and dark green lenses over his forehead and a specially made, multi-functional arm gauntlet in matching colors to his jacket coat with a bright blue screen over his left arm. Lastly, over his gray eyes were a pair of black pince-nez glasses.

In his hands, Magnus held a white Chaos Emerald and grinned in delight at his reflection upon it. Next to him were tall and bulky robot minions in red and black colors that followed him as protection, while one carried Flare's captured friend Pyro in a sphere built for capture and containment. Pyro appeared to be a small and young Mobian fox with orange-red colors and a white furry muzzle, inner ears, and tail tip. She wore a long-sleeved purple sweater dress with white gloves and purple and white shoes with white laces, big white socks, and grey soles. She also had burnt orange eyes.

Upon reaching the main room, Magnus was greeted by other robots in the same colors as the one that followed him, but they were smaller in size and structure as the big ones placed Pyro's sphere in a specially made spot to hold her in place and off the floor. Once she was set down, Magnus came up to her and smirked. "So... are we all comfortable now, my little fox gal?"

"You really think bringing me here was a good idea, Magnus?" She glared up at him. "You know it's only a matter of time till my brother and sister find me and bring Flare to stop whatever crazy plan you have."

"Ah yes..." Magnus turned slightly and used a finger to unclog his ear. "Those two little wolves that adopted you into their family. I'm not concerned about them, but you're dreaming if you believe Flare will come all the way here."

"And why is that?" Pyro raised an eyebrow as Magnus turned to grin at her.

"Because we happened to be set on an uncharted island," he pointed out. "I specifically built my base here to be off the radar. Nobody knows I'm here, so nobody knows that you're here."

"Not yet anyway." Pyro smirked, which annoyed Magnus for a moment before he smirked maniacally.

"You won't be talking like that for long." He held the Chaos Emerald up to his face before he turned his sights towards a strange circular machine built in the center of the room that had six of the seven emeralds inserted into it. "Especially after I insert the last Chaos Emerald into my Energy Amplification Machine. Once it's finished, I can transport energy to any of my machines anywhere around the world. And I think I'll start by using the satellite cannons I had secretly placed around the planet's orbit." He turned towards the giant monitor with smaller ones next to it that displayed images of satellite cannons around the planet's orbit to him and Pyro. "Imagine the chaos I could cause with these things. I believe I'll start with Central City. Either they surrender themselves to me, or they can be the first ones to be obliterated by yours truly!"

Magnus grinned in delight at his idea, then laughed loudly at the heinous plan he had in mind, but, despite his wicked plans, Pyro still held a smirk on her face. "Well, don't be so sure. Especially when Flare stops you like always."

"Sure..." Magnus brushed her off and walked away. "Keep dreaming, fox. While you do that, I'm going to go freshen up before I make my big triumphant moment."

He continued to laugh as he left the main room, leaving Pyro alone to be guarded by the many robots around her. However, she turned away so none of them could see her as she pulled the cuffing of her glove down to reveal a specially made mechanical bracelet with a small red gem bead implanted in it. "We'll see who gets the triumphant moment." She then pressed a small button, which made the gem bead beep and flicker on and off as it sent out a signal to her brother to pick it up.

~Flare's Dimension, Over the Ocean, Day Time~

And just as Pyro had planned, her signal was indeed being picked up by her brother, who was seen piloting a three-seater fighter jet that was specially made in black and white colors, along with yellow lines along the sides and wings. Inside, Pyro's brother was like Magnus described. He was a Mobian wolf of dark gray color with a white furry muzzle, inner ears, front torso, and tail tip, along with bright green eyes. For attire, he wore white gloves and a light tan utility belt around his waist, with a strap running across from its left side around his right shoulder. He also wore black and white shoes with big white socks and grey soles. But what stood out most was a pair of black-trimmed glasses over his eyes.

In the seat behind him was another Mobian wolf just like him, but this one was female and had light gray colors with a white furry muzzle, inner ears, and tail tip, but had purple eyes instead. She wore a black shredded jean jacket with a black crescent moon necklace around her neck, matching black jeans, and spiked black boots. She kept a pair of daggers on her waist in black holsters with a matching black belt, and around her wrists were spiked black wrist rings. However, what stood out most were a pair of sheathed katanas with white grips strapped to her back.

It took a moment before the male wolf realized the jet's radar was detecting Pyro's signal somewhere northeast of their location and was surprised. "Ah! There she is!"

"You find her?" asked the female wolf behind him.

"It looks like it," he said, nodding and smiling. "Guess that tracker she made really does work."

"Well, duh!" The female wolf stuck her tongue out mockingly before she smirked. "Anything that girl makes usually works!"

"Guess you got a point there, Pyre." The male wolf sweat dropped, but he smiled in response to the female wolf's statement.

"Hey...!" shouted none other than Flare, catching the two wolves' attention as they turned to see him flying right beside their jet, surrounded in flames. "Did you find anything, Ash?!"

"We sure did, Flare!" The male wolf named Ash smiled as he pointed out the jet's radar. "The Typhoon's radar's picking up Pyro's tracker somewhere northeast of here! I'll bet that's also where we'll find Magnus' base!"

Once Flare knew where Pyro and Magnus' location was, he chuckled with delight and grinned before he gazed back ahead. "Then what are we waiting for?! Let's go!"

Without wasting any time, Flare shot forward ahead of Ash's jet called the Typhoon and headed in the direction Magnus' island fortress was, and as he went on ahead, Ash nodded and smirked as he adjusted some of the Typhoon's controls. "Yeah! Hang on, Pyre!" he exclaimed as he increased the typhoon's speed to keep up with Flare, which made Pyre shout in joy as they accelerated forward.

~Flare's Dimension, Magnus' Island Fortress, Day Time~

Meanwhile, back on Magnus' island fortress, the doctor was in another room as he tried to decide what outfit he wanted to wear. He tossed away one after another from behind a changing curtain, while one robot waited on the other side, but this one wasn't like the others. This robot had an appearance of a butler that was roughly half Magnus's size with a silver body frame, bright blue optics, and wore a metallic black suit with white inners and a red bow tie, all implemented onto his metal body, along with white gloves, and he had groomed to the side metal hair with triangular-like black spots above his mouth part to almost resemble a mustache. However, what stood out most of all was that he didn't have anything else below his waist but a hover unit that was black like the rest of his attire, which allowed him to float slightly off the ground.

"Nope! Nope! Not that one! Gah...!" Magnus grew frustrated the more outfits he tossed away before coming out from behind the changing curtain with an unsure expression. "Here I am about to make an announcement to the world to surrender, and I can't decide what I want to wear on camera."

"Does it really matter what you wear, sir?" The butler robot asked in a British accent. "You look good in almost anything."

"Okay, I know you're just saying that to make me feel good, but you're probably right, Butlerbot!" Magnus pointed and grinned towards the robot called Butlerbot. "And that's why I like having you around."

"Thank you, sir." Butlerbot closed his optics happily and smiled. "It's nice to hear how much you appreciate me."

"Don't let it go to your head." Magnus suddenly lost his grin and gave Butlerbot a serious expression, but that quickly changed when the alarm started going off across the fortress, which surprised them both. "Gah! What now?!"

In response, Magnus ran all the way back to the main room with Butlerbot in tow to find another robot that was also different from the others waiting by the monitors. This robot had the appearance of a maid but was a tad shorter than Butlerbot, with a silver body frame and bright blue optics as well. She wore a black and white metallic maid outfit with a white apron on the front that was applied to her metal body. She had a white bow on her head, and she had black metal hair with twin drill-like ponytails and a feather duster in her back pocket. Like Butlerbot, below her waist, she too had a hover unit that matched her appearance to allow her to float off the ground.

"Maidbot, what is happening?!" asked Magnus as he came to a stop before the maid-looking robot named Maidbot, who turned to face him.

"It appears the sensors are picking up two projectiles coming our way, sir," she answered before she was moved to the side by Magnus.

"What?! Impossible! Bring it up and screen! Maximum zoom!" He ordered, and it didn't take long before the main monitor displayed an image of Flare and the Typhoon jet with Ash and Pyre inside on their way towards his fortress, which shocked him. "Ah! It's the hedgehog and those annoying wolves with that stupid fighter jet of theirs! How were they able to find me all the way out here?!"

Whistling innocently, Pyro pulled the cuffing of her glove back up to hide the tracker she had on and turned away slightly as Magnus turned his head to growl at the young fox. "I told you they would find you." She then smirked and shifted her eyes towards the angry doctor, which made him shout in frustration before he turned back to face the monitors.

"Doesn't matter! I don't know how they found me, but if they think they can storm my place that easily, they're in for a rude awakening!" he stated as he waved an arm to the side. "Prepare all island defenses! Deploy all air and ground troops and aim the anti-air cannons at that hedgehog and that piece of flying scrap metal! I want them blown out of the sky!"

"Yes, sir!" replied Butlerbot and Maidbot in unison as they, along with the other robots in the room, went to the controls to carry out the doctor's orders.

At the same time, Flare, Ash, and Pyre were able to see Magnus' island fortress up ahead, but just as they were nearly there, the alarms started to go off around the island that were loud enough for them to hear. To their surprise, drones flew out from secret hangars located across the island, and the fortress' anti-air cannons shifted to take aim at the red hedgehog and the fighter jet.

"Oh boy!" exclaimed Flare, but then he grinned with confidence and excitement. "Here comes the welcoming committee!"

"There's got to be at least hundreds of drones coming right for us!" Ash stated as he checked the Typhoon's radar, noticing how many incoming enemy drones were coming their way.

"That's it?!" Flare cockily chuckled. "They should've brought more!"

To Ash and Pyre's surprise, Flare shot forward and went into the fray as the drones surrounded and fired an endless rain of laser blasts, but Flare was able to maneuver around them with ease and chuckled some more before firing fireballs from his hands to shoot one drone down after the other. For a moment, Ash hung back in the Typhoon and watched how Flare was plowing through the drones, then smirked before preparing the jet's weapon system. "Hold on tight, Pyre!"

Pyre quickly did what her brother told her to as Ash shot the Typhoon forward and became a target for the drones too as some of them fired their lasers to shoot him down, but Ash was able to maneuver his way around them with some skilled piloting before countering by firing a barrage of shots from his gun turrets to blast a large portion of the drones down, then followed up with a couple missiles that exploded when they made contact to get even more of them.

"Oh yeah!" exclaimed Pyre and grinned as Ash laughed in delight, but they were then surprised when they narrowly avoided a shot from the anti-air cannons down below and continued to evade as they kept being fired upon.

"Ah!" Ash shouted as he kept narrowly evading one shot after another. "It's no good! I can't get any closer with those cannons down there!"

"Drop me down there!" exclaimed Pyre as she got serious and out of her seat. "I'll take care of them!"

"You sure?!" asked Ash, a bit unsure, but Pyre nodded and gave her brother a stern expression, which made him get serious. "Okay then."

Taking a chance, Ash turned the Typhoon around and went right for one of the anti-air cannons as it fired upon him, but he was able to evade its shots, despite how close they were. He gritted his teeth hard as he noticed the other anti-air cannons were locking onto him, but before they fired, Ash pulled up to avoid one more shot, and as he went upward, Pyre opened the cockpit window and jumped down towards the anti-air cannon, drawing out one of her katanas and shouting as she stabbed and went further down to leave a large cut opened mark upon it. This caused it to explode as she landed on the ground on one hand and knee and smirked back at her handiwork. "That's one!"

"And I got the rest!" shouted Flare as he finished off the last of the drones and flew by Pyre, which surprised her as he grinned and set his sights on the remaining anti-air cannons, plowing through them one after the other and causing them to explode in the process.

Pyre's eyes widen as she watched Flare for a moment easily take out one anti-air cannon after another, but then she grits her teeth and growls in annoyance. "Show off!" she shouted before she turned her head and stood up to face incoming robots with laser blasters pointed at her, but she smirked again and drew out her second katana. "These guys are mine."

Without hesitation, the robots opened fire upon the wolf girl, but Pyre dashed forward, evading their shots, accelerated in speed for a split second, and slashed away at one bot after another before coming to a sudden stop and grinned, holding a pose as the robots she struck exploded behind her. "Now that's what I call a slash and dash!" she chuckled but was then surprised as three larger robots came out and surrounded her, their gazes set down upon her as she gritted her teeth and readied her katanas to strike at any moment, but her situation didn't go unnoticed by her high-flying brother.

"Pyre's in trouble!" He exclaimed before getting serious and turning the direction of the Typhoon downward towards Pyre and the large robots. "I got to help her!"

He then pressed some buttons on the Typhoon's controls before pulling a lever. "Here goes! Typhoon, transform!" he shouted as the Typhoon suddenly began to change from a fighter jet into a combat robot with arms that sprouted out from underneath the wings that turned shifted towards the back, and the jet's nose changed into legs, while the cockpit Ash was in turned into a one-seater with new control functions for that of a robot.

Just when Pyre was about to strike upon the larger robots around her, Ash landed before her in the transformed Typhoon, which surprised her as he set a serious gaze upon the enemy machines. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?!" He then threw a punch with the transformed Typhoon, even though it was a bit shorter than the larger robots around it, it was able to damage them with little effort, and it wasn't long till they all fell after taking a beating, which made Ash grin proudly. "Oh yeah! That's what I'm talking about!"

"Dang it, Ash!" exclaimed Pyre, which surprised Ash as he turned the transformed Typhoon to see the angered expression she carried. "I could've handled them!"

"I know! It's just...!" Ash looked away, embarrassed. "I worry about you, okay? Is that so wrong?"

Though Pyre was still slightly angered, she smiled, knowing Ash was just trying to be a good older brother, but her smile quickly changed to shock, along with Ash, as more larger robots, along with smaller ones, came out and surrounded them. As they prepared themselves to combat them all, Flare had finished destroying the last anti-air cannon and spotted their situation, which shocked him as he quickly flew down and landed between them and the robots, surprising the duo as he crossed his arms and let out a mighty shout as he uncrossed them, sending out a fiery wave to blow them all away and explode as they hit the ground afterwards.

"Phew!" Flare wiped some sweat off his brow before he gazed back at Ash and Pyre. "You guys all right?"

"We're fine, but you should probably get inside and stop Magnus!" Ash pointed out as he noticed more robots coming out to face them.

"And get our sister out of there!" Pyre walked around Flare, which surprised him as she readied her katanas again for a fight. "You got that?!"

"Got it!" Flare grinned as he surrounded himself in flames again before he jumped over Pyre and ran straight for the main entrance. Though he was being blasted at by the robots guarding the door, he chuckled as he evaded their shots and suddenly went into a spinning fiery ball form and bounced off them, destroying them in the process before plowing his way through the door and into the fortress.

"Ready?!" asked Ash with a serious expression.

"Let's get 'em!" replied Pyre as she and her brother shouted and ran forward to take on the robots that came their way.

TO BE CONTINUED...

And that ends the second chapter! Phew... I'll be honest with you guys; this turned out to be a much longer chapter than I had planned! I had to actually split it off into two! That being said, the next chapter should be coming soon. What'll happen now that Flare has entered Magnus' fortress? Find out next time!

Now, I'm sure you all have noticed a lot of interesting things here in this chapter, and I'm sure you have some questions you'd want answered. If not, I'll tell them to you anyway, hopefully without giving out any spoilers. For starters, we see that Sonic and Flare are almost exactly alike in terms of personality, not just in facial features. We know that Tails stated they could be different-dimensional counterparts, and he's right! Flare is indeed the Sonic of his world, which felt pretty obvious. After all, there are Chaos Emeralds in his world too, and he has an arch-nemesis that's just like Sonic's Dr. Eggman.

That reminds me! I hope you guys enjoyed the inclusion of all these new OCs I've added to the story! Of course, that was bound to happen sooner or later. With a little help from my friend cecebeec, I was able to create these characters. Magnus has become a personal favorite of mine in the RPs we've done, and Ash is like Tails in a way, but instead of piloting a plane, he uses a fighter jet with transformation capabilities like the Tornado, but, let's be honest, Ash's has a much cooler and more helpful transformation. As for Pyre, she's like that crazy little sister who, if you gave them a weapon, would go nuts with, and Pyro's like the Cream of Flare's world. She's adorable, but, unlike Cream, she's very smart and sometimes can get under Magnus' skin, as we've witnessed here today.

There's so much more I can tell you, but I think I'll leave it at that for now. If you want to learn more about these characters, feel free to send me a PM! With that being said, I'll be seeing you all next time! Remember, stay safe out there, and please don't try to perform any of the stunts used in this chapter. Heh...
