"What's up guys? How have you been?" The usual ten minutes of thanking subs, explaining the plan, and waiting for people to trickle in flew by and he invited Annabeth into the call.
"Do you want to set up a squad stream?"
"Oh! Um, I actually can't, I'm not partnered."
"Oh, shit, my bad. It's all cool. Where did you spawn?"
"Ummm…" He could hear the pause as she pulled up the coordinates. "29, 91, 212."
"Cool, that's not actually that far from the ring." Leo navigated his way to Annabeth and led her to the fighting ring he and Jason had constructed.
"That's not a ring, it's an octagon." Annabeth laughed.
"What are you, a cop?"
"An architect, actually."
"And you stream too? Jesus Christ."
"It's a lot." She laughed again, "But I like doing both, so why should I stop?"
"I know the feeling. I was an engineer for years, and I kept doing it while I first started streaming, but eventually, it just gets to be way too much." Leo paused. That was way more real than he'd been on stream in…probably since Festus died. He cleared his throat and reset his grin for chat. "You ready?"
"Always."
They began sparring. Annabeth was good. Really good, in fact. Not as good as Leo, obviously, he probably won…..two thirds? Three fifths? Of the matches (not that he was counting or competitive, obviously), but she was good. Still, she was probably the best person he'd gone up against since he last had Nyssa on stream.
"Good game. Not good enough, obviously," He snarked, "But good game."
"I accept my defeat with dignity." Annabeth said. He could feel her rolling her eyes. "It's no excuse, but I will say that pvp isn't what I usually do."
"And what's that?"
"I told you, I'm an architect. I make builds."
"Can I see?"
"Oh…uh, sure, hold on, I'll send you an invite to the world I build them in."
While he waited, he checked back in with chat. He hadn't been nearly as energetic today, chat had to be bored out of their minds. But the emotes were still flying, his mods seemed to be just as busy as usual, and everyone seemed to be fairly active and positive. What did he know, apparently? He joined Annabeth's world and his jaw immediately dropped.
Leo was standing in front of a perfect recreation of the Hoover fucking Dam.
"What the fuck Annabeth?"
"Sorry?"
"No, don't be sorry, this is amazing!"
"Which one are you looking at?"
He walked inside (inside?) and it still looked….perfect. He hadn't been to the Hoover Dam since once when he was a kid but from what he remembered…this was exact.
"I'm inside the Hoover Dam."
"Oh! Hold on, I'm coming to you, I'll show you around the gallery."
Annabeth led him outside, and straight to a line of giant statues.
"This is the Athena Parthenos, this is the Discobolus, and that's the Venus de Milo."
"You're joking. You made these?"
"Well…yeah. Anyway, these take a while, anytime I make a statue it's a subgoal, the human form isn't my forte. Most of the time I'm recreating famous buildings. You saw the Hoover Dam, but over here is the Parthenon."
"A fan of ancient Greece?"
"It's how I got my channel name."
She showed him more mind boggling builds, ending on what she was currently building. Leo recognized it immediately.
"Stonewall."
"Yeah. I'm surprised you recognized it, most people don't."
"How could I not? It's such an important milestone for queer people, and it was spearheaded by trans women I mean…."
"I know! Being bi, I wanted to build a tribute for the people who actually fought for me to have…you know, rights."
"Absolutely."

Annabeth scooted closer to the screen as people began to trickle into the chat. Already, she was worried that it might end up being too many people for the few mods she had. The last few times she had been able to stream since she had been invited to the Among Us lobby had led to way more people watching her stream than she was used to, or if she was being honest, comfortable with.
"Hey everyone!" she said, "Yeah, we're finally getting everyone back together for another round of Among Us! Piper set it up!"
She began speaking with her community, mostly in an attempt to stall until she saw other people in the call. Nico and Will's icons lit up, followed by Hazel, Jason, and Piper-
She joined the call.
"Hey Annabeth!" Piper said, "Ready to play again?"
"Absolutely!"
"She's just excited to wipe the floor with you again, Piper." Jason snarked
"More like, you're just excited to have someone carry you again." She shot back
"Girls, girls, you're both pretty." Percy said, making his entrance. "Where's Leo?"
"Late again." Nico rolled his eyes. "So is Reyna, which is unlike her."
"Nico, I still want you to take me to get a cat."
"Only if you're driving seven hours to see me."
"Oh, ew, no."
"Piper, I'll come see you when I'm in California and help you with the cat!"
"Awwww, wait Hazel really? This is why you're my favorite."
"Excuse you." Leo yelled, entering the call, "I thought I was your favorite?"
"Oh shit, when did you get here Leo?"
"In time to hear you betray me."
"Girls, girls, you're both pretty." Reyna and Frank both joined the call.
Percy gasped. "A fellow Megamind fan?"
"You know it." Reyna said. "Have you all joined the lobby yet?"
"No, but we should. Without arguing over colors again, children." Hazel said.
"Aren't you the youngest person here?" Will asked.
"No one would know it from the way you all act. What map do you all want to play on?"
After a bit of debate, it was settled to try Polis.
Annabeth waited at the drop ship, keeping an eye on who did their keys. "See that chat? Jason didn't do common task. It's his biggest tell, he always fucks it up. I'm not gonna call a meeting yet, that would be overkill, but he's pretty sus. Hey Piper!"
Piper's pink bean ran up toward Annabeth."
"Whatcha doin?"
"Sussing out Jason."
Piper inched closer to Annabeth. "I'm going to leave dropship now….unless I'm not allowed to?"
"Why wouldn't you be allowed to?"
"Because you're the other impostor and you want to kill me because I want to get rid of your partner obviously."
There was an awkward three second pause.
"Yup!"
Blood spurted from the white bean and Annabeth's legs flopped onto the ground. She burst out laughing, even though Piper couldn't hear her.
"Someone clip that, that was an insane guess guys, I can't believe I was right."
Annabeth floated toward labs. "...when you get to Sonoma there's some great places I can show you." Jason's voice got louder as she entered his proximity.
"Isn't that all bougie wine country?" Percy asked
"Well….some of it is. But it's where the giant redwoods are."
"Giant wood, you say? Always a fan to see that."
Annabeth stifled a laugh. It took Jason a beat to realize before-
"Oh my god you-" He killed Percy and vented away. Annabeth and Percy dissolved into laughter as their ghosts floated in the labs.
"Holy shit Percy." Annabeth wiped a tear from her eye.
"Wait, Annabeth, who killed you?"
"Piper. Because I told her that I knew that she and Jason were the impostors."
"Literally how. That's impossible, it has been two minutes, Wise Girl."
"Maybe for you, Seaweed Brain." Annabeth said fondly. A meeting was called, ending their conversation.
It took another three meetings, but eventually, Piper and Jason's stories got away from them and they were both voted out.
…
"Was that your revenge Piper?"
"More like pre-venge, you would have ended that game in the first round." The two were talking around the water cooler, literally, as Piper finished filling it up. "Have you done your card swipe?"
"Not yet." The two finished that task together, and headed out of the office. As they proceeded to specimen together, Percy and Jason's proximity came and went.
"...didn't know is that I did not really die. That was my twin brother, Fernando!"
"It's not what it looks like, she means nothing to me!"
"Then why does she have the silver knife from our wedding, you whore?"
Before they could finish their tasks in specimen, a body was reported.
"It must have been Hazel!" Percy said, "She had the knife!"
"I told you, I didn't give it to her! You are the only one for me!"
"What the fuck is happening?" Reyna asked.
"They've been doing this all round." Frank said. "I walked past them in the beginning, and again later and it's like they're in their own mini soap opera."
"Can confirm." Piper said. "Annabeth and I heard them arguing about someone having a knife that was a wedding gift. Speaking of which, why didn't I get an invite?"
"I don't think it's exactly typical to invite your ex to your wedding, Piper."
"Hurtful. Percy at least could have invited me. Anyway, it's not Hazel, Percy, because she's dead. Reyna, where was the body?
…
"So, uh….come here often?" Nico said, as he stood over Percy's dead body.
"Yes, actually." Will said. "What's that you got there?"
"Nothing."
"Looks like a body, Nico."
"You'd think so, but it's actually just a very lifelike statue."
"Hmm. Well, who am I to question art? Carry on then. But Nico? You owe me."
"I fully intend to make it up to you."
Will choked on a laugh as we walked away.
…
"How dare you!" Piper's ghost ran away from Percy's, who followed her, cackling.
"You want to tell me it's not true, McLean?"
"I could pick up anyone I wanted."
"Prove it."
"Annabeth! Hey, Annabeth!"
Annabeth turned away from office and meandered towards Piper and Percy.
"What's up?"
"Are you a parking ticket? Because you've got FINE written all over you."
"...what?"
"What did I say?" Percy gloated.
"No, wait wait, I've got more. Annabeth, Annabeth wait!"
"What is happening?"
"I'm no photographer but I can picture us together. No? Okay, ummm…..it's a good thing I've got my library card because I'm definitely checking you out."
"Oh! Well damn, I was wondering if you were an artist, because you were so good at drawing me in!"
"Ha! Suck it, Percy!"
"I take it back, you can flirt with people who find your awful pick-up lines endearing."
"Hey, Annabeth, you know what you would look super cute in? My arms."
"This is sickening. I'm fully walking away from you." Percy said.
"Yeah, just leave me in the arms of my love!" Annabeth called after him. "Who needs him anyway?"

Immediately after hitting send, Piper wanted to throw her phone across the room. God, what was she thinking, it looked like a work email? She turned away from it entirely, trying to ignore it. Annabeth probably wouldn't respond soon. It was three hours later for her, and she had an actual job that she had to be up for in the morning. Piper couldn't expect her to be sitting around waiting to respond-

Nico's favorite days were the ones where both he and Will were able to come up with excuses for their audiences as to why they couldn't stream. He was nervous that if it happened too often, someone would connect the dots. It didn't stop him from wanting to do it anyway, every single day, but his anxiety held him back. So huzzah for that.
What really annoyed him were the people who speculated anyway. He wasn't even out to his community for god's sake, how were so many people able to figure it out just by-
"Hey." Will touched his forearm. "You're getting all forehead-scrunchy again. What's up?"
Nico sighed. "Thinking spiral."
"I assume not about the painting?" Will tilted his head like an inquisitive golden retriever.
"Not about the painting." Nico rolled his eyes, but there was no malice in the gesture. "Same old, same old."
"Hmm. I don't think that's allowed."
"What?"
"In the museum. It's for modern art. So you're not allowed to have the same old intrusive thoughts here. Only new and fresh ones."
"You're ridiculous." Nico stood up on his toes to kiss Will on the cheek.
