Chapter 1: Back to the Future
(Alternate Timeline)
Year: 2033
Location: Paris, France
A teenage boy and girl sat down in a manor's library, waiting for someone to come back.
Peter Cavendish was a fifteen year old boy with dirty blonde colour and dull-coloured brown eyes. He wore green vest with a white long sleeved button shirt, dark blue formal pants, and black shoes.
Rory Hyuga was a fourteen year old girl with navy blue hair that was styled in buns and soft blue eyes. She wore a mid-thigh formal black dress with tights and black flats.
But just before the two of them could say anything, Sabrina appeared inside the library.
Sabrina smiled at her best friends.
"Hey, guys."Sabrina greeted with a wave.
"Sabrina!"Peter remarked.
Both Peter and Rory tackled Sabrina in a big hug.
"You've made it back!"Rory responded with a weak smile."We were beginning to fear the worst!"
Peter walked up to Sabrina and Rory.
"So how did it go?"Peter asked."You know your trip to the past?"
"I have a lot to tell you. The good things and the bad."Sabrina answered and then rubbed her grumbling stomach."But first let's eat! I'm starving!"
Sabrina, Peter and Rory were then seen having lunch within the dinning room of the Cavendish Manor.
"It's great to be eating again at your place, Peter."Sabrina chuckled."Alfred's caprese salads and ginger scallops are still the same tastes. The same goes for your grandmother's blackberry dumplings with lavender and rosewater ice recipe."
Sabrina cleaned her mouth with the napkin.
"I'm glad to hear that, Sabby."Peter said with a shy smile.
Rory finished drinking her pineapple smoothie.
"Now that our bellies are now full, will you tell us your story, Sabrina?"Rory suggested.
Sabrina gives a nod.
The three friends then returned to the library to have their private conversation.
"This is what is entirely true."Sabrina complemented."I've returned to the past and have successfully stopped the Zero Requiem from occurring which means Schneizel el Britannia's true colours had been exposed and is now the real tyrant for the world to hate. The same goes for Kururugi."
"Yes!"Peter and Rory cheered in unison.
Sabrina, Peter and Rory did a high five together at hearing the success of the mission.
"So you saved your father's life as well as the rest of the royal family?"Peter assumed.
"Yes. I've even saved Euphemia and Shirley's lives too."Sabrina admitted and frowned."Though I was against at first at saving Euphemia because she was the main person that caused everything to go wrong to begin with. Mainly because of her ridiculous idea of creating the Special Administrated Zone of Japan which honestly would've never succeeded and she became that Britannian worshiping swine Kururugi's obsession that he used as an excuse to cause misery to everyone. Especially to my father."
"And what of the idiot Prime Minister of Japan and his self-centred wife?"Rory questioned.
"I'm happy to oblige that the idiot traitor of the Black Knights will be behind bars for the rest of his life while his whore is gone for good."Sabrina declared with a smirk."That goes also for the dangerous assassin that was hired to be my father's younger brother."
"Served them right. They were fakers anyway. So was that psychopath and Kururugi."Peter commented and smiled confidently."The world will now have the true Zero to look up to that will make everything new. Everything better."
Rory smiled and nodded in agreement.
Sabrina's smile then was replaced with one of disappointment.
"But I've also learned what my Grandmother Marianne was really like."Sabrina stated in a slight bitter tone.
Peter and Rory looked at Sabrina with confused looks.
"What do you mean, Sab?"Rory questioned."Your Grandmother Marianne was killed on the day when your Aunt Nunnally lost her sight and legs."
"Yes. That's what it seemed to have seem to be."Sabrina responded."But it turns out she was alive and was hiding within Anya's body for the last eight years."
Stunned looks appeared on Peter and Rory's faces.
"Wait, so your Grandmother Marianne had Geass too?"Peter asked."One that gives her the power to cross over into another person's mind?"
"Yes."Sabrina said with a nod and clenched her fist in anger."But it turns she was also one of Ragnarök's grand architects like Emperor Charles and V.V were."
Peter and Rory gasped in shock at Sabrina's statement.
"Wait, what?!"Rory gasped."Marianne the Flash supported Emperor Charles and his brother's mad scheme?!"
"The Emperor must've rewritten her memories."Peter assumed."You told us that your Aunt Nunnally said your grandmother was a kind and loving mother who always thought of her children's needs before hers."
A scowl escaped from Sabrina's mouth.
"It was all a lie. Marianne vi Britannia didn't care about her children, but only herself and that philanderer known as her husband."Sabrina retorted with a hint of venom."They and V.V had hoped that by uniting humanity's minds into one, they would create the peaceful world that only suited them which was they created the Ragnarök Connection. But V.V grew jealous of Charles' relationship with Marianne and assassinated her, setting Aunt Nunna up as the witness with Charles using his Geass to alter her memories and blind her. Though V.V lied and said that he wasn't the one who did it, Charles knew the truth, he easily saw through him. My father and Aunt Nunna were sent to Japan, not as bargaining tools, but Charles and Marianne's deluded desire to protect them from V.V. It was then that Charles planned to take his brother's code, while Marianne initially wanted C.C. to pass her code onto her so they could initiate Ragnarök together, but C.C. had abandoned them. In other words, C.C fled to Japan. The purpose of Japan's invasion was not just to acquire the Thought Elevator stationed there, but to potentially use my father as a pawn to draw C.C. out. Though the invasion would have likely resulted in his and Aunt Nunna's deaths, neither Charles or Marianne cared because the love they had was only for themselves."
Peter and Rory looked at Sabrina with hurtful looks.
"I can't believe this."Rory retorted.
"Sabrina-"Peter started.
"It's okay."Sabrina assured simply."The royal family of Britannia were always filled with corrupted people. I shouldn't be surprised that Marianne vi Britannia turned out to be worse like them."
"So how did your father and aunt take it about their mother?"Rory asked.
"Shocked as well as hurt. So was Cornelia since she idolised her."Sabrina commented."Anyway, since Emperor Schneizel was defeated, Aunt Marrybell became the 100th Empress of Britannia while Aunt Nunna decided to continue attending Ashford Academy with her friends. My parents, on the other hand, are expecting me and have had a huge wedding in Japan which I took part in. So did my Grandmother Jordan and Grandmother Mei."
Peter and Rory smiled at Sabrina.
"That's nice, Sabby."Peter remarked.
"I bet your Aunt Marrybell made sure Schneizel and Kururugi got the punishments that they deserved, right?"Rory assumed.
"Actually, Aunt Marrybell have decided to have them in prison for life instead of execution."Sabrina responded."She said it is far better letting them live with the consequences of their actions than killing them."
Surprised looks appeared on Peter and Rory.
"She spared them?"Rory said in surprise.
"But why would she?"Peter questioned."Schneizel was the one that fooled the Black Knights into betraying Zero while Kururugi killed your father. Why spare them after everything they did?"
"I will never forgive both my estranged family members and Kururugi for all the pain and humiliation that they caused me to go through. Especially for allowing my father to become the Demon Emperor and to sacrifice himself as a scapegoat for the world to grow up hating."Sabrina declared in a firm yet strict tone."But at the same time, I will never forget Charles zi Britannia's brutal effectiveness as a ruler. And then I learned things, ways in which he destroyed people's lives that I could never understand or imagine."
Peter and Rory looked at Sabrina, but didn't say anything.
"No matter how many times I deny or try to forget, I will always be Emperor Charles and Empress Marianne's granddaughter."Sabrina admitted and then smiled a bit."But in my heart…I can be something so much different."
"Your parents."Rory suggested with a smile.
"They weren't perfect. Not even Aunt Nunna."Sabrina stated."Regardless, what the past has been and what I've caused to change, I accept it. I will let go of what was and have faith in what will be. Which is making a better future for the three of us and the people that are important to us."
Sabrina, Peter and Rory then shared a hug with each other.
"And we'll make sure to be always there to help you the most."Peter assured.
"Because that's what true friends do."Rory chuckled."They meet you at your worst and guide you towards the best."
"Thanks, Peter and Rory."Sabrina thanked."You two are the best."
Later that Night…
Everyone in the Cavendish Household went to sleep. Both Rory and Sabrina decided to spend the night in Peter's place after telling their guardians where they were. After the two girls informed their relatives where they were, Marquess Cavendish gave them a grand guest bedroom that was for two people before retiring in his chambers.
Sabrina placed on her mint green pyjama shirt and trousers. Her crimson red hair was tied in a braided ponytail.
Rory placed on her white silk pyjama dress with her navy blue hair loose and had a white bow behind her head.
When Rory fell asleep, Sabrina decided to write down on her diary while sitting on her bed.
Dear Diary,
It's been a while since I've written to, but I'm happy to tell you that I have stopped the corrupted pests of the past and all of them received the punishments that they deserved. The world of the past timeline that I travelled to had gone to hell, but this time with the true dictator willing to wipe out the whole of mankind and rule the whole world in a grip of fear like he was set above them. I still find it repulsive that his related to me. However, the most important is that I've saved both my parents and the Zero Requiem have never happened. The best part was watching them get married with all their friends and comrades being there on their special day. I've allowed a new chapter of real peace to happen to the world and I'm no longer a figure of hate. In addition, Pendragon had not been wiped out by the F.L.E.I.J.A. which means all the family members of Britannia are alive and have been given a second chance to live with Aunt Marrybell as their next ruler. Sure, there are still those nobles that prefer living under Emperor Charles' rule, but that's a thing of the past. For me, this is a new beginning to everyone I care and the rest of the world. I think my dream on living in a time when the flames of hope and good burned so bright that all the evils that existed is going to disappear which will open a new destiny for me. But the big question is now what will I be? What will be my future? Though I don't know if I'm ever going to get marry. There are men that are more interested in power than love and would want to marry me just so that they can be part of the royal family as well as receive high ranks and fancy titles. I will not be treated as a figure that can be used for political gain. I am mostly focused on becoming a professional violinist and attending school with my friends. All the grown up things can be dealt with later on in my life. For now I can officially relax after a long time…
Sabrina stopped writing and then placed her diary away in her backpack.
The young red haired girl then rested her head on the pillow before falling into a deep sleep.
Sabrina had returned to her timeline, but are her problems really over?
