Chapter 13: Conversations
The world had been at peace again upon Empress Marrybell's return as well as the defeat of King Shalio and Queen Shamna.
Though the Kingdom of Zilkhstan had been defeated, this didn't mean everything was peaceful again.
The Keepers of the Order were still out there.
Though a week passed, it wasn't clear when they will strike again, so which meant Zero and the members of the Black Knights had to stay alert in case the evil organisation made a move.
Especially, Sabrina and Bertie since they were both from an alternative timeline.
At the Stadtfeld Manor…
"More please, Aunt Sayoko!"Sabrina insisted eagerly.
Sayoko placed a third plate on the dinner table which contained a small tower of mitarashi pancakes with sweet soy glaze.
"Here you go, Lady Sabrina."Sayoko commented with a gentle smile.
Sabrina's eyes sparkled in delight at the sight of the Japanese-style pancakes made by her favourite maid before she started eating it.
The red haired girl wore a dark grey frilly top beneath a white and purple off-shoulder shirt paired with indigo shorts, a mauve belt, black stockings and purple flats.
Lelouch bought his attention away from his coffee cup to look at Sabrina.
"Sabrina, you should take your time to eat your breakfast."Lelouch clarified."You might end up getting hiccups."
Sabrina simply smiled at Lelouch.
"No problem, father."Sabrina remarked brightly."Believe it or not, my stomach is big enough for me to handle eating a whole cuisine."
Lelouch sweat dropped at his future daughter's respond and simply drank his cup of coffee.
"You certainly didn't get your big appetite from me."Lelouch thought uncomfortably.
"Lady Sabrina, you should take your time to enjoy a meal."Sayoko insisted kindly."Even princesses need time to relax from fighting."
"I'm not a Princess. I'm a lady, Aunt Sayoko. Royal titles are meaningless to me."Sabrina admitted and started cutting her pancakes in a proper way."But don't worry. I've been taught etiquette by Anya in my timeline."
Lelouch smiled at his future daughter's respond.
"That's good."Lelouch praised."Etiquette helps us to know how to treat others respectfully and appropriately in any context."
"Yes, dad."Sabrina assured with a smile."I get it."
Then the door of the manor opened and a familiar voice was heard causing Sabrina to become excited.
"Hello!"Jordan called out."Is anyone home?"
Sabrina immediately got up from her seat and left the dining room to greet her grandparents.
"Grandmother Mei! Grandfather Jordan!"Sabrina remarked happily."I've missed you both so much!"
Sabrina hugged Jordan and Mei, who hugged her back.
"Hello, Sabrina."Mei replied."It's wonderful to see you again."
Jordan chuckled and ruffled Sabrina's hair, making it a bit messy.
"You've grown more beautiful than we last saw you, kiddo."Jordan commented."Have you busy trying to earn the hearts of every boy in court?"
"Grandfather, stop."Sabrina laughed lightly."I'm only sixteen. I've been enjoying school life with friends that's all."
Sabrina led Jordan and Mei to the living room as Sayoko bowed at them.
"Welcome back, Lord Jordan and Lady Mei."Sayoko responded.
Lelouch waved at his parents-in-law.
"It's wonderful to see you both again."Lelouch said with a smile.
Jordan notice his daughter and infant granddaughter weren't in the living room while Sayoko headed off to make more breakfast.
"Care to explain where my daughter and infant granddaughter is, Lelouch?"Jordan questioned.
"Kallen left this morning to go and do some shopping with Sabrina."Lelouch explained."But they'll be back before lunch."
"Really?"Jordan questioned."And you didn't bother to go out with them?"
"Jordan, please."Mei begged."We've discussed this."
"Kallen wanted to have some girl time with Sabrina."Lelouch explained, trying to remain in friendly terms with his father-in-law."A baby needs stability."
"Yes."Jordan agreed with a stern look."But a baby needs both their parents to be there for them and to get a better stabilising influence. Did you know that?"
Lelouch frowned and looked down, knowing Jordan was judging him as a father.
Sabrina cleared her throat to earn her grandparents and father's attention.
"Hello."Sabrina remarked with a smile."I'm still here."
Jordan smiled when he looked at Sabrina.
"Now, let's move onto good conversation."Jordan complemented."Sabrina, what is new in your life?"
Sabrina felt butterflies in her stomach at her grandfather's question.
She didn't have the courage to tell her grandparents that the reason she came back was because an evil organisation caused damage in her timeline and was in the middle of something dangerous.
So the red haired girl decided to mention the good things in her timeline.
"Well, funny you should mention it."Sabrina replied, keeping her bright and happy personality."My studies at the academy in Paris has gone successful and my teachers say I have exceptional talents. Especially in geography and music. Since I'm very good at playing the violin, I've decided to become a professional violinist and also travel around the world."
"A violinist?"Lelouch chuckled."That's impressive."
"That's wonderful, sweetheart."Mei praised."We're so proud of you."
"You do need top grades to get a better opportunities in life."Jordan commented."You know, when I was ten years old, I knew exactly where I wanted to work. I knew I wanted to go to Yale, and put on a nice suit everyday and be a very important man in a very powerful firm. And I knew I wanted to travel and see the world. I wanted to see La Traviata at the La Scala Opera house. I wanted to walk the ruins of Pompeii."
"Really, Grandfather Jordan?"Sabrina said in surprise."That's incredible. You had big dreams?"
"And that reminds me."Jordan chuckled and brought out something from Mei's bag."This is for you."
Jordan brought out a small deep blue present with a gold flower and dot pattern.
Sabrina opened her present and saw it was a gold medallion badge with a crowned falcon and sceptre. Bellow there was the motto; Gouverner avec honneur (Rule with honour).
"This medallion has our family's insignia."Jordan explained."Bearing the coat of arms of British nobility, this gold medallion designates its bearer as a pureblooded descendant of a noble family."
Sabrina smiled as she stared at her family's medallion.
"Aw. Thank you, Grandfather Jordan."Sabrina thanked gratefully."I love it."
"Ilse was right when she said you would like it."Mei commented.
"Ilse?"Sabrina said in confusion.
"Ilse Stadtfeld is my mother."Jordan explained."She was an extremely accomplished equestrian, a distinguished patron of the arts, and she was also world-famous for her masquerade balls. She was quite a woman, my mother. She sends her love and...she's coming to visit."
Lelouch's eyes went big causing him to nearly choke on his coffee drink at his father-in-law's declaration while Sabrina gasped in amazement.
"Whoa."Sabrina remarked."I am going to meet my great-grandmother?"
"When?"Lelouch asked.
Jordan smiled at Sabrina.
"You're going to love her."Jordan assured."My mother is brilliant, absolutely brilliant."
Lelouch cleared his throat, earning his future daughter and parents-in-laws' attention.
"I'm asking a question here, does no one hear me?"Lelouch questioned with a frown."Am I suddenly invisible?"
"I'm sorry."Jordan apologised simply."What was the question?"
"When is your mother arriving?"Lelouch asked.
"She's coming tonight."Jordan answered and glanced at Sabrina."Sabrina, I'm telling you, it's going to be such a treat."
"Excuse me."Lelouch murmured.
Lelouch stood up from his seat and left the dining room causing Sayoko to follow after him.
Sabrina looked at Mei.
"Have you met Great-Gran before, Grandma Mei?"Sabrina asked.
"Yes. I have and she's quite a religious woman."Mei complemented with a small smile."Though she is occasionally amusing and sometimes magnanimous, she is overall a good and dutiful person."
"I hope she likes me."Sabrina said.
"She'll love you."Jordan chuckled."Don't doubt yourself on that."
In Pendragon…
Empress Marrybell was in a meeting with Jeremiah, Anya and Bertie.
The four of them were looking on her laptop which showed a security footage on how Suzaku's escape from prison.
"The guards were suddenly killed instantly."Anya stated."Though it doesn't show who attacked them."
"Hold on."Empress Marrybell instructed."Let's make the video go a bit slower."
Empress Marrybell typed a few instructions and this time the video footage showed Thanatos killing the guards before going to Suzaku's prison cell before the two of them disappeared.
"Who was that man?"Jeremiah questioned.
"Hey. I seen that guy before."Empress Marrybell said with a glare."He was there with Queen Shamna after I was taken as a prisoner in the Zilkhstan's Temple."
Anya notice Bertie had a horrified look on his face as he stared at Thanatos.
"What's wrong, Bertie?"Anya asked.
"I-It's him."Bertie responded in shock."That's the guy who attacked my and Sabrina's timeline."
Shocked looks appeared on Empress Marrybell, Jeremiah and Anya's faces.
"If that's true then his the leader of these individual group called the Keepers of the Order."Jeremiah assumed.
"And he said his name was Thanatos. I've heard that name before."Marrybell stated suspiciously as she stood up from her desk."Wait a minute."
Marrybell went to her bookshelf and took a maroon coloured book that had the title 'History of Britannia' on it.
The 100th Empress of Britannia turned a couple of pages and eventually found what she was looking for.
She then returned back to her desk to show the chapter page of the book to Jeremiah, Anya and Bertie.
"Back in the days of the old empire and of the old European aristocracy, Sir Ricardo von Britannia and Queen Elizabeth I of the British Empire used to have a close advisor by the name of 'Thanatos'."Marrybell read, looking at the pages."He eventually was a kind-hearted and benevolent man, who wanted peace. Unfortunately, when he started studying alchemy, he learned some forbidden arts by his genius-level intelligence to cause great pain and pleasure to others through a certain point. At that point, Sir Richard and Queen Elizabeth had him banished from their court and soon had him sentenced to death. But it's unclear, where or how he was executed."
"His that old?"Bertie murmured with a startled look.
"If the books says that it is that Thanatos is from the time when the Holy Britannian Empire was just created and unknown if he was executed, this means his centuries old and an immortal being."Anya assumed uncomfortably.
"Then his like Miss C.C."Jeremiah clarified."He can't be killed unless if someone makes a contract with him and takes his Code."
Bertie shook his head.
"I wouldn't be to sure about that."Bertie responded.
"What do you mean, Bertie?"Empress Marrybell asked.
"I heard from someone close to be that this Thanatos person has a duplicate body, generating a new one if his false body were to be killed."Bertie explained."So for example, if one of his clones was causing havoc my or your timeline, the real one could likely be in another dimension."
"If he is someone that believes that he has the right to destroy the world and then remake it to fit his tastes, then he and his followers are dangerous beings."Jeremiah said with a frown."Though he is worse as Schneizel the tyrant."
"Though the difference is Schneizel was a totalitarian mastermind who caused mass murder and attempted to cause nuclear hegemony around the whole world, Orange."Empress Marrybell reminded with a frown."This Thanatos guy is more like a genocidal being, who plans to create a world that his above everything beside being highly skilled manipulator like my psycho of an older brother."
"So what he intends to use the tragic extremist for?"Anya asked.
"Nothing good that's for sure."Empress Marrybell retorted and let out a scoff."I should've had Kururugi sentenced to death for his unforgivable crimes than having him sentenced for life and this wouldn't have happened."
Bertie then takes out a USB with a phoenix mark on it.
"Empress Marrybell, this is for you."Bertie admitted."Before departing from my timeline, my grandmother gave this to me so that you can have it. It has every information about Thanatos and what can actually kill him."
Surprised looks appeared Empress Marrybell, Jeremiah and Anya's faces.
Empress Marrybell then takes the USB from Bertie and places it on her laptop.
Then various information came as well as about a new unique level for Knightmares and something called 'Excalibur', astonishing the 100th Empress of Britannia and her two allies.
"Dimensional traveling Knightmares."Anya read in disbelief.
"This is all astonishing technology in a whole new level."Jeremiah remarked."This is incredible."
"Bertie, this is…"Empress Marrybell started in awe.
Bertie looked down in shame.
"Too much."Bertie finished sadly."I'm sorry I-"
"Amazing!"Empress Marrybell chuckled, hugging a surprised Bertie and giving kisses on both his cheeks."You just gave us answers to our problems!"
"Yuck!"Bertie complained while blushing furiously."No mushy stuff! Please!"
Back in Japan…
After spending her time with her grandparents, Sabrina decided to go explore around town.
The red haired girl was admiring the scenery of Tokyo which was ten times better than the one in her own timeline.
She then remembered what her Grandfather Jordan told her two years ago before she left to go back to her own timeline.
"This family has standards. You live up to them, and you should expect that everyone that you spend time with live up to them also. You are a gifted girl with immense promise, and you should learn very early that certain people can hold you back."
Her Grandfather Jordan was right though and actually gave her good advice.
Charles was a monster, who didn't care about his family.
He used and killed anyone who stood in his way.
Even V.V, the brother who shared his fate and desire, was killed the moment he was no longer useful.
Charles wanted to create the world without lies and yet he did nothing but lied to everyone around.
He lied to his family about the death of Marianne, he lied to his nation about his intentions and he lied to his own brother; his closest ally.
Geass allowed him to do unspeakable deeds and Lelouch was afraid to follow in the same footsteps.
Especially, Sabrina.
Sabrina made her way to town and saw a café.
When the red haired girl looked through the window, she saw Zvi and Nunnally happily chanting while eating a strawberry meringue parfait together.
A smile formed on Sabrina's face at seeing the lovely scene.
"In my timeline, Aunt Nunna remained in a grieving state and wasn't interested in marrying someone after what happened to dad."Sabrina thought."But at least, this Aunt Nunna got the happiness she deserved to have."
Sabrina then brought her attention away from the cafe just as her iPhone started ringing.
She took out her iPhone and answered it.
"Yes?"Sabrina asked and then chuckled."Hey, Aunt Marrybell."
In the Stadtfeld Manor…
After returning from shopping and greeting her loved ones, Kallen went to her bedroom to slowly brush Baby Sabrina's crimson red hair with a little brush.
"So my Grandfather Ilse is coming to visit?"Kallen chuckled.
Lelouch scowled as he looked through the cupboards for the right tuxedo to wear.
"Just out of the blue, your father announces she is coming."Lelouch retorted as his hands moved around each side of the cupboard."Last time she visited, she gave me the evil eye which obviously meant bad luck is on my way."
Kallen shook her head at her husband's respond.
"Lelouch, don't stress yourself."Kallen responded as her infant daughter played with her stuffed giraffe toy."My grandmother wasn't just happy that you got me pregnant before our wedding because she is very religious. Believe it or not, my great-grandparents actually had her a year before their own wedding."
"That doesn't change how she feels about me."Lelouch retorted as he picked up a red tie."Then again, if my parents were more like yours, she would've seen me in a better view."
Kallen placed Baby Sabrina in her infant bed before going to embrace her husband from behind.
"I'd be lying if I said I understand it completely, but discovering the truth is what I've been trying to do with you all this time."Kallen admitted."What point is there to live if such discovery is unnecessary? People won't have any motivation to act if they don't have to make any effort to learn. It sounded wrong to me what they're parents tried to do."
"Well said, Kallen. A complete and secluded world. I do not want that for anyone. Especially, for our daughter and friends."Lelouch commented with a frown."Mine and Nunnally's safety didn't matter to any of them because as long as their plan went through they would get to see us again. They didn't care about the future."
A sad look appeared on Kallen's face.
She felt sorry that Lelouch and Nunnally were born to unloving parents that really didn't care about them like her own parents cared for her and Naoto.
Worse, the battles between Britannia and the Black Knights were just bait to lure C.C. out.
In other words, Lelouch was just noise for the world from the very beginning; a hindrance.
And because of her 'parents-in-law' that Lelouch had to form a plan to have himself sacrificed, so that all the evil deeds were blamed on him and for others to have a better future.
Though the Stadtfeld Heiress was still a bit mad at the immortal pizza loving eating girl for keeping the truth from Lelouch about his mother and using him for her own personal gain.
Kallen then plant a kiss on Lelouch's face.
"Want me to help you pick out the right tuxedo?"Kallen requested.
Lelouch smirked at Kallen.
"Sure, but only if you promise to wear a nice dress in return."Lelouch flirted.
"Careful what you say, lover boy."Kallen teased smugly."Otherwise, I'm going to have to punish you."
Back at Pendragon…
Not long after their meeting with Empress Marrybell, Anya and Bertie were exploring the Pisces Villa that was also Marrybell and Oldrin's residence when they were small children.
"The villas in Pendragon are very pretty."Bertie remarked in awe."But also Empress Theodora's residence is so far the most amazing one. I like the Spider Lilies that grow there."
"Oh, you mean the home of Prime Minister Odysseus' mother?"Anya assumed with a gentle smile."It is a nice garden. Though I think the one that has more beauty is Aries-"
Anya paled and immediately stopped herself from finishing her sentence.
"Lady Anya?"Bertie said in confusion."Are you okay?"
"I-It's fine, Bertie. It's just that bringing back the past brings back horrifying memories."Anya replied and then went back to the main subject."Are there any other villas you would like to see?"
"Umm…how about Capricorn Villa?"Bertie guessed with a thoughtful look.
"That's the home residence of Empress Amanda; Prince Oscar's mother."Anya explained as something caught Bertie's attention."She's a stern woman, but I'm sure she won't mind-"
The former Knight of Six notice Bertie wasn't next to her anymore.
Anya then looked behind her and saw Bertie was looking at a portrait that hung in the hallway of Pisces Villa.
The first person in the portrait was a woman with beauty with bright shoulder-length scarlet red hair and sapphire blue eyes. The dress she wore was gorgeous rose gold gown with puffy sleeves and had a beaded choker around her neck.
The second person was a seven year old girl with light Spanish pink hair styled in two loop braids and held in place with pinkish red ribbons and the same blue eyes as her mother, but with a hint of purple. She wore a frilly pinkish red dress.
It was the portrait of the late 25th Empress and Imperial Consort, Flora Mel Britannia and her youngest daughter, Julia.
Anya walked up to Bertie as he stared at the portrait.
"That's…Empress Marrybell's mother and little sister, right?"Bertie assumed.
"That's right. I met them only three times."Anya stated."Empress Flora was a kind and generous that treated those around her with respect. Regardless, if they were nobles or commoners. Princess Julia was a sophisticated girl that was interested fashion and a bit of a chatter box."
"A chatter box?"Bertie chuckled."So she liked to talk a lot?"
Anya nodded at Bertie before she continued talking about the late relatives of the 100th Empress of Britannia.
"Empress Flora always put her two daughters' needs before her own and always wanted to make sure they were also happy."Anya continued, only for a grim look appeared on her face."But then a mysterious boy came with a package which revealed to hold a bomb and destroyed Empress Flora's castle home as well as killing her and Princess Julia."
A shocked gasp escaped from Bertie's mouth.
"And that's why the Glinda Knights exist to this day, Bertie."Anya admitted."After losing her mother and little sister, Empress Marrybell vowed to end terrorism once and for all. That way no one had to suffer losing their loved ones again."
"But the boy who came to Empress Flora's castle was no boy like I am."Bertie said with a frown."Right, Lady Anya?"
"Yes. It was V.V."Anya retorted bitterly."Emperor Charles' immortal older twin brother. Though luckily, we don't have to worry about those two anymore."
Bertie nodded, but didn't say anything.
Empress Marrybell was talking to Sabrina in her bedroom.
Sabrina wore a high-collared, low-cut red corset with short, light green puffy sleeves worn underneath a sleeveless, magenta trench coat that flared behind her, being shorter and pleated in the front, and black elbow-length fingerless gloves with gold bracelets above them. Below that, she wore red high-heeled boots and black thigh-high stockings connected to a skirt by suspenders. Around her neck was a red neck choker that had an emerald crested golden cross-shaped medallion on it.
A small blush crept on Sabrina's face as she stared herself in the mirror upon wearing the outfit that Marrybell gave her as a present.
"Uh, Aunt Marrybell?"Sabrina murmured uncomfortably."Is this dress really necessary?"
Marrybell squealed as she hugged her future niece over the way she was dressed.
"So cute!"Marrybell gushed and wrapped her arms around Sabrina."Really, super cute!"
Sabrina flushed furiously at Marrybell's declaration.
"At least I'm not dressed up as the bunny girl like mum was once upon a time."Sabrina thought in fear.
Overcoming her shock, Sabrina cleared her throat and smiled at Marrybell.
"Thank you, Aunt Marrybell for this lovely dress."Sabrina thanked."At least, I won't have to worry about last minute shopping when my Great-Grandmother Ilse arrives tomorrow."
Marrybell smiled."You're very welcome, Sabrina."
Sabrina then smirked at Marrybell.
"So how is your love life going?"Sabrina asked smugly."Will we have a future Emperor-Consort soon?"
"Not exactly, Sabrina."Marrybell replied with a small smile."I don't think I'll ever have children."
"Come on, Aunt Marrybell. You're 19 heading to 20 on August."Sabrina informed."I would like the little me on my timeline to have cousins to play with when she gets older."
Marrybell let out a sigh.
"The line of succession."Marrybell commented."That's all anyone ever talks about. It's making me be treated as a prized bull."
Sabrina sweat dropped at her aunt's respond.
"Sorry, Aunt Marrybell."Sabrina apologised and frowned."Despite being a 'holy' empire, religion does not seem to be a governing factor in Britannian society. Whilst it is possible and even encouraged by Emperor Charles for royals to succeed to the imperial throne by killing all co-competitors. Even if their 'co-competitors' shared half of their blood. Though a real monarchy is expected to be the embodiment of family, stability and responsible parenthood."
"That's utterly, Sabrina."Marrybell responded as she made her way to her study desk."Though some of our family members are slowly learning what truly means to be royal and part of a family."
"Maybe Aunt Marrybell if you have your own daughter you can name her after Aunt Julia or Grandmother Flora?"Sabrina suggested.
A small chuckle escaped from Marrybell's mouth.
"That is a nice thought."Marrybell replied."Though people much prefer to have a future Emperor in the near future since the sons have better opportunities to be successors than having another Empress."
"How come?"Sabrina questioned.
"In Britannian society, a boy is more important, Sabrina."Marrybell admitted.
Sabrina scoffed before a smirk grew on her face.
"I don't think so."Sabrina admitted.
Marrybell simply smiled at her niece before taking out the papers she had ordered to be printed out as Sabrina went to sit in the opposite chair next to her desk.
"Thanks to future information given from me by Bertie, we may have found a way how to defeat Thanatos and these Keepers of the Order."Marrybell declared."Though our key on killing the genocidal being that destroyed New Pendragon and other areas in your timeline is something called Excalibur'."
"Excalibur?"Sabrina said with a thoughtful look."If I'm not wrong its a sword from one of the stories that Aunt Nunnally used to tell me?"
"It's a sword. But not just any sword you see a plain knight use, Sabrina."Marrybell declared and showed her niece the sheets of paper about the sword called 'Excalibur'."Excalibur is a sword attributed with magical powers and associated with the rightful sovereign of Britannia. It is also actually the only thing that can kill Thanatos."
A look of disbelief appeared on Sabrina's face.
"A sword from a mere folks tale is the only thing that can kill the Keepers of the Order's leader."Sabrina responded."Is that it? Has there been rumours that it actually exists?"
"I heard that 6 years ago, Emperor Charles sent a group of guards from the Geass Order to Myrddin's Cave in Hamtunscire."Marrybell admitted."But unfortunately, none of the soldiers came back alive. So that is likely where Excalibur is hidden."
"So if Emperor Charles' attempt to retrieve Excalibur, he would've become more dangerous and invincible than he ever was."Sabrina said with a frown."Good thing that ever happened. But since you're now the Empress of Britannia's Empire, you are the one that can willed Excalibur, Aunt Marrybell."
An unsure look grew on Empress Marrybell's face.
"It looks that way, Sabrina."Empress Marrybell replied."I will discuss this with Odysseus tomorrow. We'll need to choose wisely which sort of group that the two of us will agree to go retrieve Excalibur."
"Understood, Aunt Marrybell."Sabrina answered with a nod.
In the Dark Dimension…
Thanatos was speaking to S.S and her two comrades; Ishtar (I.I) and Nabu (N.N).
I.I was a young yet attractive female teenager with spiky yet long platinum blonde hair that went up to her back and ruby red eyes. She wore a whole black body suit with orange patterns, a white collar and a blue tie with a blue gem on her chest and had a tiara with a diamond-shaped gem on it. On her wrists and anklets were floating gold bracelets.
N.N was a quiet young female teenager with short dark dull blue and bluish grey eyes that gave either a cold or distant look. Her suit was black which was similar to that of her companions, but had blue stripes and matching black boots that were attached with her suit. She had a white necklace with a blue brooch in the shape of a diamond similar to the gem of her tiara. In addition, like her companions S.S and I.I, she had gold bracelets and anklets that seem to be floating.
"Empress Marrybell will likely be sending a party to retrieve Excalibur."Thanatos warned.
There was a deadly silent as S.S, I.I and N.N listened carefully to their master's words.
"The job for the three of you will be make sure this little group won't try to retrieve that legendary sword."Thanatos instructed."If that sword falls into our enemies' hands, we won't be able to unleash the Deity of Destruction."
"You three young ladies understand as the Keepers of the Order's members?"Thanatos asked sternly.
"Yes, Master Thanatos."S.S answered with a firm tone.
"Our role…is to keep you safe."N.N said bluntly.
"That's correct, Nabu."Thanatos agreed smugly."I'll be sure to have you rewarded for your unquestionable loyalty."
"Our lives and our futures are all yours."I.I remarked in a small yet bright expression.
"Ishtar, thank you."Thanatos thanked."I have the upmost faith in you."
"We, the Dark Vipers, vow to do everything in our power to accomplish our mission."S.S vowed in a serious tone.
Thanatos smirked at his three followers.
"Sin, Ishtar, Nabu…I expect great things from all of you."Thanatos answered.
S.S, I.I and N.N all bowed at Thanatos.
"We'll take our leave now."S.S stated.
The Dark Vipers then left Thanatos' chamber, leaving him by himself.
"Such darlings they are."Thanatos sneered.
Then unexpected someone appeared and walked up to Thanatos.
The someone was a beautiful female in her 40s with long black hair and eyes which had the same purple shade as Lelouch and Sabrina's. She wore a long orange dress with a short white collar that had red ribbon attached to it and matching orange heeled shoes.
She was one of the three people responsible for the creation of the Sword of Akasha and attempted to use it to destroy the world for their selfish desires.
It was a revived Marianne vi Britannia.
"You certainly have them eating out of the palm of your hand, Thanatos."Marianne giggled evilly.
"Well, well, if it isn't Madam Britannia."Thanatos said simply."You should've told me you were coming."
"My apologises, I'm not bound by the flesh, so I can be a bit too casual."Marianne replied."If the Excalibur sword is retrieved by our foes, this can jeopardise your own goals."
"Don't you worry about me."Thanatos replied."Fighting with them is even more a game than my usual dalliances."
"You should take this a bit more seriously."Marianne informed with a frown."Lelouch and Sabrina are with them."
"Your son and your reluctant granddaughter?"Thanatos scoffed.
"Miracles happen at the strangest times."Marianne remarked."Who knows what could happen if you get caught by one."
"Your warning is duly noted, madam."Thanatos responded with a bow."Now if you don't mind, I would like to begin the next phase."
A smirk grew on Marianne's face.
"And I'll be watching to see your talents in action."Marianne stated.
"Everything I do…"Thanatos started.
"…is for a brand new world."Marianne finished.
