Chapter Seventy-One
Escape!
Up topside at a warehouse near the river, Boss Kodama and Hanako stood in a upstairs staffroom looking down within the warehouse at the Ninjas, the Yakuza as well as some of the 95th Street Gang preparing their weapons as well as Goods to exchange.
"You think that bitch will strike again tonight?" Boss Kodama asked.
"I have a feeling she will!" Hanako smirked as she looked towards the window to the river flowing through Chicago.
The sun was setting again, and dark clouds were filling the sky as it got dark.
"Looks like rain." Kodama murmured.
"That won't stop that bitch," Hanako hissed "It won't stop any of those freaks should they come searching for us!"
She took out one of her shorts swords and gazed at her reflection in it.
"It never stopped them for a second, but with my planning and your Yakuza and our allies, we shall be ready."
Boss Kodama nodded.
"I have guards positioned at all entrances and windows, as well as outside." He said, "Should that Huntress who attacked last night, or any of those other creatures come hunting, they will be greeted by a hail of lead!"
He then turned to Hanako and smirked.
"And if lead bullets are not successful."
He held up a hand grenade.
"I have these at my disposal!"
Hanako smiled evilly.
"Very nice Kodama." She said then pulled out a remote from her robes.
"The Foot have also supplied me with a couple of bombs as well, especially if the Dragon should make his appearance! If the bullets and grenades do not kill him, then a full load of dynamite will!"
Boss Kodama licked his lips and cocked his gun.
"Let's hope we don't have to wait long." He said, "I'm looking forward to some action!"
"Likewise!" Hanako replied.
Back in Mutopia, Sonia slowly started to awaken after being knocked out by Pandora.
As the Chameleon opened her eyes, she rubbed her head as well as her neck.
"Uggh, what happened?" she murmured then saw the rock celling above her.
"What am I doing here?" she propped herself up on her elbows and looked to the side to see Freya and Loki lying beside her.
Shaking her head, Sonia began to remember she had been talking to Pandora, then suddenly all went black.
It was then she remembered Pandora's tail coming towards her and then the pressure on her neck.
"Pandora?" she thought as her eyes widened in shock "No! No, it couldn't have been!"
She looked down at Freya and Loki again then placed her hands on their shoulders to shake them.
"Guys! Guys!" she cried "Wake up! Wake up!"
Loki moaned and groaned then opened his eyes.
"Huh?" he asked "Man, what hit me?"
Sonia felt relieved as she saw him wake up then looked to Freya.
"Freya! Freya!"
Freya also moaned and opened her eyes before rubbing her neck.
"Sonia? Little brother?" she asked as she looked over "What's going on?"
Sonia rubbed her neck and looked around the room again.
"We're in Pandora's room!" she exclaimed.
"What why?" Loki asked as he tried to remember then he felt the side of his neck.
"Wait!" he cried then she saw something on Sonia's knees and picked it up.
It was a handwritten note and he recognised it as Pandora's.
'You won't stop me, I'm sorry, I have to do this, Huntress.'
"Pandora!" Loki cried as he looked at his sister and Sonia "She must have done something!"
"Pressure points!" Sonia clarified "She used her skill for pressure points and knocked us out!"
"Damn!" Freya cried "How long have we been out for?"
"No idea!" Loki said, "But we got to stop Pandora!"
"But we don't know how long we've been out or where she is right now!" Freya cried "If she's left the sanctuary, she could be quite far away for us to catch her!"
The twins turned to Sonia.
"What do we do?" they asked in unison.
Sonia narrowed her eyes and stood up before picking up the note.
"If we can't deal with Pandora ourselves." She said, "Then we must go to Tyroth, the Knights and the Hamato Clan!"
The twins looked scared.
"Dad's gonna be furious!" Loki sighed.
"As will Uncle Raph and Aunt Mona!" Freya agreed "Along with Uncle Don and Mike!"
"But we have to tell them!" Sonia said, "We have to stop Pandora doing anything stupid, or before she gets hurt or worse, killed!"
The twins, as much as they were worried what their father would say or even do, they agreed with Sonia as they knew that Pandora was putting herself in great risk, even though she had been able to get away with what had happened before, they knew that given her state of mind, she could end up in a lot of trouble in the hands of the enemy, and if their words hadn't gotten through to her, they had to find another way and that was to speak to the adults.
Sonia helped the twins to their feet and looked around the room for any other evidence along with the note.
Yet they couldn't find the note, nor Pandora's weapons which she had kept on her side table.
"It's seems Pandora took her weapons with her, along with the list!" Freya said then she spotted her shell-cell on the dressing table.
"She left her phone though!" she added.
"So we couldn't track her!" Sonia sighed "Damn!"
She looked at the twins and narrowed her eyes.
"We got to tell Uncle T!" she said, "And the other Knights, and the Hamato Clan!"
"Let's hurry!" Loki said leading the way out of the bedroom and towards the main village.
Meanwhile after Pandora had used her pressure points techniques on Sonia and the Geckolings, she had grabbed her weapons and her outfit and left the bedroom after scribbling a note.
She had then made it to the entrance of Mutopia and hurried to the surface.
Making sure no-one was watching her, she had made her way onto the rooftops and looked around for somewhere to change into her Huntress outfit.
She soon found a rooftop that had a large water tank on top and she quickly changed into her suit.
She also took out a small mirror and put on her tribal make up as well as armed herself with her claws and tail-blade.
"Goodbye Pandora." She hissed at her reflection "It's kill, or be killed…Hanako will die tonight…A True Huntress always catches her prey."
She placed her old clothes as well as the other items in the bag and left them under the water tank.
She knew once Sonia and the Geckolings awoke they would go and find Tyroth, the Knights, and her parents, Uncles and Grandfather, and she knew there would be consequences, yet her want for revenge and Hanako's blood overshadowed any guilt or second thoughts she felt.
Standing on the edge of the rooftop and looking over the city of Chicago, Pandora looked around at the city as the sun set and dark clouds filled the sky above her, as well as the lights from the many buildings starting to illuminate the city.
The wind blew through the hybrid's hair as she observed the city then looked at the list she had swiped.
She checked the address and looked towards the river.
"It's that way." She thought then bared her teeth and took a deep breath "It's Hanako or me tonight…"
She then ran to the edge gave a spring and landed onto the next building before running over the rooftops.
As she leapt over the rooftops, she thought of the nights she went on patrol, running alongside her family in New York, hearing their cries of delight as well as determination as they leapt over the gaps, she could hear her father whooping alongside her, and the tears came to her eyes as she thought about how he would maybe never speak again.
In the weeks since they came to Mutopia, despite Devina's magic and James and Dahlia's treatments, Raphael still hadn't been able to talk, even if he had managed to wheeze a little louder than before, it wasn't much of an improvement.
"You'll pay for what you did Hanako!" Pandora growled as she leapt across another building and did a forward roll as she landed before landing on her feet "I will make sure you pay with your life!"
Back in Mutopia, Jun the Tiger was walking from the main village to the residential quarters when suddenly as he turned the corner, he was almost bowled over by Sonia and the Geckolings as they ran into him.
"Whoa there Kiddos!" he cried holding out his arms to stop them "What's the big rush?"
"Jun!" Sonia cried in alarm.
"Stripes!" the Geckolings exclaimed.
"What's going on?" Jun asked again, looking at how pale the twins looked and how Sonia's skin tone was yellow with fear.
"Have you seen Uncle Tyroth?" Sonia asked.
Jun looked confused.
"Last time I saw him he was in the Mess Hall, why?" he asked, "Is something wrong?"
"It's Pandora!" Loki babbled without thinking "She's left Mutopia!"
Jun stared at the young Geckoling and blinked.
"Come again?" he asked confused.
"Loki!" the girls said together annoyed then looked to Jun.
"Its urgent!" Freya said, "Where's Dad?"
"Calm down!" Jun said "Look, we'll go and find Tyroth! Just breathe alright, and what's happening with Pandora?"
Sonia swallowed hard and she began to tell Jun what had happened, the twins joining in every so often to confirm Sonia wasn't making it up.
As the while, Jun listened carefully.
Even though he hadn't been with the Knights in their meetings about the recent happenings, he was aware of the news events that involved some of them, as well as what Dahlia had told him when she was in the medical bay.
"The Vigilante?" he asked as he frowned slightly "You mean that Gunman who held the store hostage that appeared on the news? The one who brought him down? That was Pandora?"
The Geckolings nodded.
"Yes!" Sonia said "Pandora confessed it all! She also confessed to the man who was hit by the car! And the 95th Street gangsters who tried to attack those women the other night!"
"And when Dad, mum and the others went topside to save our grandparents!" Freya and Loki babbled.
"Okay, Okay, slow down!" Jun said waving his arms "Alright, I believe you!" he frowned as he thought of Pandora going topside alone.
'What is that kid thinking?" he growled "She's not that's for sure!" he looked down at Sonia and the Geckolings.
"Come on Kids!" he said, "Let's go and find your dad!"
As he walked with the Geckolings he thought of Pandora topside and sighed.
"I know I've put myself at risk, but I know how to stay safe with a clear mind, I just hope Pandora's thinking clearly, but if she's not, God help her."
Meanwhile, the sun had fully set, and Pandora had made it to the location of the warehouse that she knew Boss Kodama and Hanako would be.
Coming to a stop on a tall building just a few feet away, she could see many Yakuza as well as thugs from the 95th Street gang patrolling the top armed with guns.
She frowned as she looked at them.
"They're armed." She thought "They must be taking precautions after last night!"
She licked her lips as she thought about how to go about getting into the building.
"I will need to be careful." She thought "I remember how I used to help my family attack heavily guarded places, even the Foot Headquarters."
Memories of when she along with Kemeko infiltrated the Foot Headquarters when her parents, uncles, aunt, and grandfather were captured, along with their allies who had been chasing an enemy that had teamed up with the Foot those years ago.
"If I can do that, I can do this!" she thought to herself "I was trained for this! And I will take down every bastard within that building!"
She narrowed her eyes and started to advance towards the warehouse.
Meanwhile within the warehouse, Hanako stood at a table with Boss Kodama, Kamaru and Valentina and looked at the money in suitcases as well as paperwork.
"Looks like we got all we bargained for here!" Kamaru smirked as he wrapped an arm around Valentina.
Boss Kodama chuckled.
"Yet we still have to work out the percentages, we all have an equal share in this!"
Kamaru and Valentina frowned slightly but they agreed especially when they heard a hissing behind them and knew it to be Hanako's mutated ninja.
"Indeed, yes Boss Kodama." Kamaru agreed then started to look over the dollar bills.
Hanako watched and took out a cigarette lighting it and taking a puff.
"I have to say, I'm amazed." She said as she looked out the window of the staff room at the room below where the thugs were clearing up.
"We have had no interruptions tonight."
Boss Kodama looked up and out the windows.
"Indeed no." he said, "Let's hope it stays that way, but if not, I am prepared just in case!" he held up his gun.
"So am I!" Hanako smirked.
But unbeknownst to the Foot Ninja Boss and the Yakuza Boss, Pandora had made it close to the warehouse and hid in a dark alleyway looking to see a safe way in, or rather find a way to take out all the guards so she could get inside.
Watching the thugs as well as Yakuza patrolling, she looked at her claws and tail blade then at Mr Swinger who hung on her back.
"Looks like this will have to be a distance attack." She thought to herself as she took her weapon off her back and kissed the dart end of her weapon.
"Okay Mr Swinger." She said, "Do your part!"
The hybrid then waited as a thug came past where she was hiding and she swung her weapon towards him, the dart end caught his arm, and he looked down in shock, but he didn't have a chance to shout out before he was pulled into the alleyway!
The other thugs and Yakuza on patrol didn't notice as the attack was so sudden and silent.
As Pandora took care of the thug by slitting his throat, she then took the chance to change into his clothes and take his gun so she could attack silently without anyone outside suspecting her until it was too late.
Quickly stripping the dead thug of his garments, she got dressed in his green hoodie and well as his beige cargo pants.
They were a rather big size on her small frame, but she hoped with how loose they were she could easily slip them off when given the chance.
She then quickly stepped out into the open and started to walk up and down with the gun hoping to take the chance to take out the guards then sneak into the first entrance she saw.
She readied her claws as she got ready to take out the next guard, a smirk forming on her face and licking her lips.
"Let's dance…."
Back inside the warehouse, Hanako, Boss Kodama, Kamaru and Valentina had counted their cash.
"A very good split wouldn't you say?" Hanako asked to which Boss Kodama nodded in agreement.
Kamaru and Valentina looked at their share compared with Hanako and Boss Kodama and frowned, yet they agreed it was a good enough share given their services.
"So, do we agree on another meeting the following night?" Hanako asked, although given her tone it was more an order than a request.
Boss Kodama looked up with a knowing smirk and Kamaru and Valentina nodded.
"Of course." They said, "We are grateful for the services and help."
Hanako smirked as she heard that but then she smirked as she heard a couple of shouts from below.
Boss Kodama also looked over as he heard the shouts, and they went to the windows to look down into the warehouse.
As they did, they saw an all too familiar figure running around amongst the crowd of thugs and Yakuza slashing and striking out to attack.
Hanako glared as she watched.
"She's back!" she cried.
Boss Kodama also looked.
"Huntress!" he growled as he held up his gun.
Upon seeing their bosses look out the window, Kamaru and Valentina also ran to the windows to look, and they saw what was going on.
Valentina glared.
"That bitch!" she cried after she watched.
Kamaru also looked and he scowled.
"Her…." He snarled.
Down in the warehouse, Pandora had managed to sneak inside via fire escape after taking out the guards who were patrolling, then she had thrown off her disguise and started to attack anyone who got close to her.
She struck with her claws and tail, slashing and stabbing, and despite the weapons her enemies possessed, they were no match for her ninja skills as well as her own weapons.
Before long, many thugs and Yakuza as well as Foot Ninja lay dead or wounded and others backed away scared as the hybrid crouched in a feral pose and challenged anyone who dared to take her on.
"Come on…" she whispered as she scanned them with her blue eyes "Are you all cowards? Or just weaklings?"
"So…the Huntress has come back to play?"
Pandora's blood boiled as she looked up and saw Hanako along with Boss Kodama, Kamaru and Valentina.
"Hanako." She hissed.
Hanako smirked.
"I have to give you credit." Hanako chuckled "I never thought you would attempt to come looking for us, after our last encounter!"
She turned her eyes to Boss Kodama who held up his gun and Pandora glared more.
"He tried." She spat "And he missed!" she pointed to her arm and side.
Hanako folded her arms.
"Cocky little thing, aren't you?" she smirked "For a child!"
"I am no child!" Pandora spat furiously "Do I look like a child?"
Hanako started to walk down the stairs towards the main area of the warehouse.
"Well for one, you behave like one, a spoilt little child!" she drawled "And a scared little one, one who wants to play dress up and play the hero!"
Pandora glared and readied her claws, she didn't know why Hanako was still smirking, if anything the woman should be scared to see that she Pandora had come back and was ready to kill her, yet something wasn't right and Pandora could feel fear pooling in her stomach, but she did not show it.
"I'm not scared of you." She muttered "Not you, nor your little friends!" she gestured to the ones she had taken down earlier "Do I look like a scared little girl to you? After what I did to your little followers?"
"Oh but you will be!" Hanako smirked and clicked her fingers to which several Yakuza and thugs appeared holding up machine guns like they did to Tyroth, the Knights and the Hamato clan the previous night.
Pandora looked up as she saw them, and she went pale.
"Shit…" she whispered.
"You might have been able to take down the pawns." Hanako smirked "But can you outrun or dodge several hailstones of bullets?"
Boss Kodama, Kamaru and Valentina also smirked triumphantly.
Hanako walked down the stairs and towards Pandora who looked around then up at Hanako, her eyes blazing.
"You bitch!" she hissed.
"Make your choice…. Crossbreed!" Hanako growled as she took out her short swords "Surrender…. or be shot down like a dog!"
Sonia, and the Geckolings have awakened from being knocked out by Pandora, and now they're on their way to inform Tyroth along with Jun the Tiger's help!
Meanwhile Pandora has arrived at the warehouse and has taken down several thugs, Ninjas, and Yakuza, yet as she confronts Hanako, Boss Kodama and the 95th Street Gang Leaders, she's found herself in a right pickle, if that be the right word!
