Weeks Later…

It's been over two months since Kol "woke" up in his human's bedroom. Two months since he has been following and learning many things about Caroline Forbes. Two months since the adventures that has happened ever since Damon targeted his human. Two months since he grew fond of Caroline. Two months when he realized that he has taken fancy to her. And now it's the spirit of Halloween today. Kol couldn't believe these high schoolers will be dressing up in costumes for the Halloween carnivals.

The bad boy Original quietly followed Caroline who is holding bags in her hands as she approaches Bonnie who is outside of her locker. "Hey Bon! I got your costume. It's all here." She handed the bag to Bonnie with excited grinned on her face.

The petite witch grabbed the bad not unkindly with enthusiastic. She opened the bag and took out the costume and her grinned dropped. "Seriously?" she held up a witch costume which bring Kol's amused.

"How fitting." He murmured. Kol really did thought it was hilarious how his blonde-haired beauty decided to dressed Bonnie up as a witch when she, herself is a real witch.

Caroline sighed as she leaned against the locker. "Come on. Can someone please be excited that it's Halloween? I just wanna have fun, you know, just some silly, fluffy, asshole-free fun." She said, wanting to have better new fun memory instead of focus on her past and the scars on her skin.

"Hey, isn't this the one you got from Damon?" Bonnie asked with a confused frown as she lifted the amber-crystal necklace in the air.

"Well, it's useless for my darling since she's not a witch. But who knows, it might not be useless to you, little witch." Kol muttered while eyeing the crystal.

Caroline shrugged her shoulders. "Yep. Wear it. Toss it. I don't care. I just want it gone." She wants to forget her past with Damon in her life. She has been cling on for a while but decided to move on. Then she cleared her throat. "Hey, have you seen Elena? Do we know what she's wearing?" she asked her best friend with curious.

Bonnie dropped the necklace back in the bag. "I was with Grams all weekend." –"I hope you got your lesson as a witch during that weekend, sweetheart." Kol interjected as he glanced at the petite witch then back to his human. Bonnie continued. "I haven't talked to her. Maybe she's with Stefan."

The blonde-haired beauty pushed herself from the locker and the girls ambled down the hallway. "Riding to his castle on his white horse." She sarcastically said which made Kol amused.

Bonnie shakes her head. "Don't be bitter. It provokes wrinkles." She playfully scolded. Caroline rolled her eyes humorous with exaggerated scoffed and Bonnie smirked lighthearted.

"Don't worry, darling. Even if you have wrinkles, it'll just add to your beauty." Kol muttered with flirtatious smirked.

Then the school bell alerted the students to head back to class.

Kol is enjoying the view of his human's dressing up as a sexy witch. How he wishes he could wrap his arms around her and dance nonstop. He glanced around the lively, loud, and colorful of the Halloween carnival going on with mixture of curious and interested. He recognized some costumes and even scoffed at some silly dress up as vampires. "There are so much fictional about vampires are wrong." He muttered to himself while survey around. Kol was glad that he didn't see the soon-to-be-dead vampire anywhere lately and he likes to keep it that way.

Then Tyler walked up with two cups in hands. He grinned at Caroline and Bonnie who were chatting. "Cider for the ladies. It's a Lockwood special." Tyler offered the spike drinks.

Bonnie shakes her head. "No way. Last year, I was hungover until Thanksgiving." She refuses.

Caroline scoffed. "Lightweight." She grabbed the cup with confident that Kol smirked. "I am going to drink until someone is hot enough to make out with." Kol's smirk dropped.

"I don't like that, darling." Kol scowled as he dislikes anyone touch his human, let along, dare to kiss her lips!

Tyler grinned with approval. "Sounds like a plan." He and Caroline clicked their cup together and start drinking while Kol made a sour face.

The bad boy Original glares at Tyler. "I'm going to enjoy hang you by your feet in your birthday suit." He grumbled and crossed his arms.

Caroline drank entire special spike a while ago and feeling slightly buzzed. She is sauntered through the crowded hallway inside of the school building. Lights flashing, fogs covered the ground, decorations that were impressive around her, and many people—both young and old—in costumes. The blonde-haired beauty carefully dodged from bumping anyone through the hallway.

Kol is following closely behind with slight concerned since his human is on her own. Plus, he doesn't want any bloke dare to flirt with his human and chances to snog her. Caroline hummed happily as she enjoy the feeling of buzzing inside of her.

From the corner of her eyes, she spotted a certain brunette who is walking around with worried. "Elena!" she called out but the music blocked her voice. The blonde-haired beauty pouted then tried to go after the doppelganger. "Excuse me. Sorry, excuse me." She muttered while trying to catch up to her friend.

"Love, please be careful." Kol said with amused and concerned when he watched Caroline nearly smack herself against the fake pillar. He followed her for a minute or two until the blonde-haired beauty caught up to Elena who dressed up as a nurse. "I still like my human's costume better." Kol commented, completely knowing that he is being bias.

"Elena!" Caroline grabbed Elena's shoulder gently.

The doppelganger turned around in surprised. "Caroline! Hey… what are you doing here?"

Caroline raise her eyebrow at her with disbelieved while Kol shakes his head. "Oh, well… I just happens to saw this amazing Halloween carnival happening tonight and I thought, why the hell not? Join in as a sexy witch." She caustically answered.

"I fucking love your sarcasm, darling." The transparent ghost smirked widely with mirth in his eyes.

"Right." Elena closed her eyes and shakes her head. "Of course. Duh." Caroline just nod her head and examined her costume carefully.

"I can't believe you go as a nurse from last year. You do know that Matt is wearing his nurse garb, matching couple costumes?" Caroline reminded Elena with confused and curious. "I thought you and Matt are not together."

Elena shakes her head. "We're not. I wasn't going to be here until the last minute. I didn't have any costumes except this." She waves her hand over her nurse costume. Kol skim over her costume with boredom then turned his gaze over his human's costume with slow examined. He truly enjoyed his human play as sexy witch. It's lovely in his opinion.

"Well, if it's a last-minute then there's nothing we can do about that." Caroline blunted with unimpressed but then smiles widely. "But I'm glad you are here! Bonnie is taking charge at the apple bucket and I'm here on a break." Caroline explained, merrily.

Then the blonde-haired beauty saw Stefan dragged Vicki out of the classroom. "Hey, is that Stefan and Vicki?"

Elena jerked around and sighed in relief. "Thank God."

Kol narrowed his eyes at Vicki who dressed up as a vampire however, what caught his attention was her eyes. "…bloody hell…" he whispered, almost instantly that he is staring at the newborn vampire.

"Hey!" Caroline greeted them happily.

Vicki smiles faux-brightly at her. "Hi."

Kol eyeing the newborn vampire with caution. He doesn't want her anywhere near his human.

Stefan nod his head and turned his attention to Elena who looks worried. "What's the matter?"

"I lost track of Jeremy." Elena eyeing Matt's sister warily. "I was worried."

Caroline glanced at her friends with curious and confused. "Is everything okay? I'm getting the weird secrets vibes here."

"Your instinct is remarkable, love." Kol compliment his human with amazed. He knew that his human is intelligent but to witness her senses is amazing. He wondered what she would be like as a vampire?

Before anyone opens their mouth, Matt appeared through the plastic sheet and saw them. "What's goin' on?" he frowned with confused and his blue gaze is on Vicki.

Vicki took this opportunity to jerk her arm away from Stefan. "I told you to quit bothering me." Caroline's eyebrows shot up while Elena attempt to calm the older girl down. However, Vicki ignore them and turned to Matt with nervous face. "Matt, he won't leave me alone."

Kol shakes his head as he watches how Vicki manipulated her brother who protected her and use this distraction to escape. "Classic trick. Humans are so stupid. Except you, sweetheart." He frowned as his gaze turn to Stefan who didn't noticed. "You're a terrible vampire, mate."

Caroline was startled when Stefan shove Matt against the wall. "I'm trying to help her." Then he left, followed Elena to search for Vicki. The blonde-haired beauty steps up to Matt with concern.

"Are you alright, Matt?" she lightly touches his shoulder.

Matt just nodded his head. "Yeah… I just… I don't know why he cares about Vicki?" he asked her with confused.

Caroline just shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe because Elena cares about her just means that Stefan cares too." She wasn't sure what's exactly is going on. Matt sighed softly then his blue eyes stared at her green-blue eyes for a moment.

Kol glanced at two of them with questioning then eyes widen. "No. Don't even think about it! Not my human!" he snapped, not wanting this bloke attempt to flirt his human. "Darling, please don't snog him." He muttered as he glares at Matt.

"I'm just… I'm gonna go look for her." Matt cleared his throat as he snapped his eyes away from her.

"Good, keep your eyes away." Kol grumbled as he watches Matt nod Caroline and left her. The blonde-haired beauty sighed loudly. "I'm not drunk enough for find someone to make out with." Caroline groaned.

The bad boy Original step closer to Caroline and lightly touch her bare shoulder. "Wish I could snog you until your panties flew out." He sighed, disappointedly. He wants to touch her lips, wondering what her taste will be like.

Kol followed his human through the hallway until Caroline turned the corner and bumped someone. "Oh! I'm sorry." She lifted her head and smiles wide when she noticed cute-looking male who dressed up as police officer. "Hello there."

The police officer grinned at her. "Hey. Nice costume." Caroline giggles which made Kol rolls his eyes distastefully at it.

"Thank you. You too." The blonde-haired beauty examined his costume from top to bottom. "Would you arrest me if I ask you to kiss me?"

"Are you bloody kidding me?!" Kol snapped with annoyed. He watches the fake police officer to grabbed his human's hand and dragged her into the empty classroom. "Seriously?!" he refuses to watch his human being snog by another bloke! He had to forced to watched her being sexual-relationship with Damon fucking Salvatore!

Kol growled as he glared at the fake police officer leaned down as Caroline tipped her head back. "Hell fucking no!" he snapped.

Suddenly, the fake police officer was hit by a pencil in the head which surprised him. "What the—!" he jumped back in surprised while Caroline blinked at him.

"Are you alright?"

"That pencil just hit me!" Caroline stared at him blankly. Her blue-green eyes scanned around in the empty classroom except them. While Kol stared at the pencil on the ground with contemplative. "I'm serious! It did!"

The blonde-haired beauty cleared her throat. "Right." She step back with awkward smile. "I just remember something. I need to head back to my station. I think I've been away from break too long. Excuse me." She turned around and quickly power-walked out of the classroom with Kol quickly followed. "What a weird guy."

Kol hummed before he glanced at the bewildered fake police officer who scanned around. "…did that really happened though?" he muttered to himself with curious.

Later…

Caroline handed the tickets to the customer. "Enjoy your night!" she friendly waved at them then placed the case in the lockbox. She turned around to grab the empty stack of cups and placed it on the front table next to the giant glass bowl of punch. She humming to herself quietly while Kol ambled around the carnival near her.

Kol paused when his dark eyes spotted a small stuffed animal of a blue cat as part of the prizes in one of the booths. He wondered if he could transfer that object to Caroline? He recalled how his human "felt" the cold touch of his fingers, the doors that was shut on it own, and now the pencil that hit the bloke that nearly kiss her.

The bad boy Original stared at the stuffed animal with focus as he imagines how his human would react to it. Will she enjoy to have it? Will she take it with her and sleep with it? Or will she place it on the dresser as part of the display? Or will she send it away? Or hide it in the closet? Kol doesn't know and he wants to see it. He wants to see how his human sees the stuffed cat. Kol blinked and the blue cat was gone.

"Huh?" Kol snapped his head around and eyes widen in shocked when he saw the same stuffed cat on top of the lockbox. Caroline just noticed the blue cat; she steps forward and picked it up to her eyes level. "How cute." She mumbled with a soft smile. She gently pets the soft fur of a stuffed cat and glanced around with confused and curious.

"No bloody way…that works?!" Kol blurted it out in astonished as he went to her direction and stared down at the blue cat.

Caroline hummed with interest. "I wondered where you came from little kitty." She snorted at her silly antics, but the smile didn't fade away. Kol shifted his gaze up to her and watch how her eyes soften with warmth and how her smile is so gentle and sweet.

"Caroline!" the blonde-haired beauty turned her attention to Bonnie who jogged toward her with an anxious and nervous face.

"What's wrong Bonnie?" Caroline lowered the stuffed animal but still held on to it.

Bonnie reached her with pants. "Damon… he's here." Caroline and Kol stiffed at the news.

"What?" Caroline blinked at Bonnie with shocked.

"That fucker is here?!" Kol hisses displeased by the new information.

The petite witch nodded her head. "Yeah, and he tried to steal this necklace." She grabbed the amber necklace and held it up. "But… it burned him."

Kol raises his eyebrow with intrigue. "Is that so? So, I was right after all. That necklace is a former witch's talisman."

"What do you mean it burned him?" Caroline asked, confused, and skeptical.

Bonnie shakes her head as she dropped the necklace back on her chest. "I—I don't know. He was looking for you—" Kol growled displeased by this while Caroline frowned. "—and when he saw this necklace, he wants it back but I refused and said I would just hand it back to you. He didn't want that and he tried to take it back but this—" Bonnie wave her hand at the amber crystal. "—burned his hand."

Caroline slowly shakes her head. "That's…really creepy." She commented which Bonnie nodded her head, agreed.

"This means that this crystal was a spell as protection by anyone who attempts to steal ended up get burn. You have to give it away willingly otherwise thief will suffer burnt hand." Kol knew this type of spell before, he has seen witches cast it on many important objects to prevent any thieves who attempt to steal. It's a rather nasty hex spell, Kol recalled it in his time before he was daggered.

"I have to leave. I'm sorry, but tonight has been really freaky and you should go home too. Damon might be searching for you." Bonnie warned her best friend.

"That would be the best, darling." Kol doesn't want that soon-to-be dead vampire going anywhere near his human.

Caroline nodded her head with understanding. "Of course. I just need to inform the others first. I'll do it for you too." Bonnie smiles with thankful eyes. They exchanged hugs and Bonnie left.

The blonde-haired beauty sighed loudly. "…so much for trying to have fun tonight." She wanted to celebrate her Halloween night with two of her best friends but it ended up rather disappointing. Kol frowned at his human as he felt little bad for her but his desires for her is to be safe and far away from the Damon Salvatore.

Kol just wants her to be safe than having fun.

Later…

Caroline dropped her witch hat on the bed along with bags and objects. She carefully placed the blue cat on the vanity with a small smile. Kol couldn't help but feel warm even though she has no knowledge of how she got it. He likes that his human likes it enough to take it with her. The blonde-haired beauty sat on the stool, grabbed the wipes, and clean her face with it.

Kol watches her with fond and smiles sadly when Caroline paused at the bites-scars on her neck and the back of her shoulder. "One day, I will get rid of those scars for you, sweetheart. I promise." He muttered as he steps forward to get close to her.

The blonde-haired beauty closed her eyes and sighed softly while touching her scars. "…don't let him control you, Caroline Forbes. Don't let the scars bother you." Kol knew she is lying to herself in an attempt to comfort.

"Someday, you will push that bastard away with confident, love. And I will be with you every step of way." His eyes darken while he watches the tears clings stubbornly on her eyelashes that she refuse to opened her eyes. He knew that Caroline is still hurting from the abuses she was forced to endured, even with many holes in her memories, her body still remembered the horror she went through. "I'll get revenge for you, sweetheart." He vowed to give the miserable pain for Damon who causes Caroline in pain, tears, and sorrow.

No one is allowed to harm his human and get away with it.

Because he is Kol fucking Mikaelson.
