Caroline hummed softly to herself while she sauntered down the sidewalk while Kol walking beside her with his hands in pockets with slight boredom and neutral casual. Then, Damon suddenly appeared front of her which she halted in shocked while Kol growled angrily. "You arsehole." He steps forward and half-covered his human while staring at Damon.
The older Salvatore smirked at Caroline. "Hello, Caroline."
The blonde-haired beauty's lips firm lined as she is eyeing at him with cautioned and suspicious in silent. The dark-haired vampire chuckled humorlessly. "You know, I've been calling for you for a while. But you never come for me."
"Not sorry, tosser. Since she is mine and you have no right to control her." Kol hisses as his eyes sharpen while Caroline furrowed her eyebrows with confused. "What are you talking about?"
Damon narrowed his eyes at her. "Are you on vervain?"
"What?" Caroline doesn't understand while Kol glared at the older Salvatore. "I don't know what's going on with you. But I know this for a fact that we are over, and you are lucky that I didn't call my mom to come arrest you for abusing a minor!" Caroline snapped, angrily and hurt. "So, I strongly suggest you leave me alone or else." She hisses at him with warningly.
Damon stared at her in surprise while Kol raise his eyebrows at her. "….that was hot, darling." Kol commented, shamelessly.
The older Salvatore scoffed then he leaned down as his pupils expand and shrink which Kol instantly knew and groaned loudly. "Are you fucking kidding me, Salvatore?!" Kol swipe his head through Damon's head in anger and frustrated.
Caroline blinked then smiles softly. "Oh my god! Where have you been?" Damon faked his smile at her. "It's really good to see you."
Kol fake-gagged.
"Much better." Damon said with faux-cheerful. "You wanna throw a party here at the grill tonight."
Caroline tilted her head with curious. "Oh, why don't you do it?"
"Yes, why don't you do it you tosser?" Kol snarled at Damon.
Damon chuckled softly. "Because then Stefan and his BFF won't come. I need a lot of people. Big crowd. Invite everyone." Kol frowned at Damon with suspicious.
"And why am I having this party?" Caroline asked, perplexed.
The bad boy Original crossed his arms. "I would like to know that as well."
The older Salvatore looked irked. "Because you're gonna help me solve this town's little vampire problem. And I want my crystal back." Kol straighten up his spine with interested as he wondered why this soon-to-be-dead vampire so hung up on the dead witch's talisman.
"But Bonnie has it." The blonde-haired girl pointed it out.
Damon gritted his teeth but placed a big fake-ass smile at her. "I know that. Get it from her."
Kol growled. "I seriously need you to be placed under vervain, sweetheart." He glanced at his human mixture of frustrated, worried, angry, and anxious.

"I knew you have talented for throwing party, sweetheart." Kol whistled with impressed as he scanned around the crowded people who are dancing in the area while others are drinking or eating. The music was loud, a distance hazy chatter could be heard along with laughter that seems never stop. Caroline glanced around with proud expression on her face until she spotted Damon at the bar. Kol noticed it and released his growled and groaned mixtures. He dragged his feet after Caroline who ambled her way toward the older Salvatore.
"Amazing party, right?" Caroline asked Damon with hopeful smile.
Damon glanced at her. "Glad you thought of it." He said rudely which made Kol glared darkly at him. He wishes his glares could burn the asshole's head.
Caroline cleared her throat. "Well, are you having a good time?"
"Do you have a crystal?" "Why the bloody hell are you so obsessed with that stupid crystal?!" Kol threw his hands in the air with irritated.
The blonde-haired beauty shakes her head in respond and Damon's fake smile fell. "Then I'm not having a good time." Then he stood up and left her alone. Kol snarled at the older Salvatore then glanced at his human. "Love, forget about him. Please…" Kol's face soften when he watches her hurt face. He wants the compelled spell to wear off as soon as possible.
Kol reached to her shoulder and lightly touch her with his fingertips which causes her shivers. Caroline hands curled into fists. "Why am I doing this to myself." She muttered to herself and lifted her hand to touch her forehead.
"Hey." Unfamiliar feminine voice speaks up which caught their attention. Caroline turned around and saw a very pretty young woman with long dark blonde hair, sharp brown eyes, sun-kissed tan, and dressed dark party outfit. "I heard from others that you the one who throw this party."
Caroline blinked at her but nodded her head. "Uh, yeah. I did."
"Cool party." The woman praised Caroline who beamed at her. "Oh, I'm Lexi, by the way." Lexi introduced herself and exchanged friendly handshake with Caroline.
"Nice to meet you, Lexi. I'm Caroline." Lexi's eyes lit up with recognized that Kol noticed. He narrowed his eyes at her with cautioned.
Lexi made a gesture at the stools by the bar. "Please have a seat. I would love to get to know you since I've heard about you." She walked to the stool and plopped down. Caroline raise her eyebrows as she sat down on the stool next to Lexi.
The Original immortal leaned on the bar counter back with his forearms behind; next to Caroline while keeping his dark eyes out for any potential danger as he doesn't want his human to be in any risk.
"You said that you heard of me? How?" Caroline asked, curious and slightly suspicious.
Lexi ordered her drink to the bartender then turned her head to the blonde-haired beauty with a sly smile. "From Stefan. He's my best friend. And Damon, he mentions that you two are friends." Caroline and Kol scoffed at that. "Oh, was I wrong?" Lexi raise her eyebrow with interested.
Caroline sighed heavily. "Honestly. We dated. And it was the biggest mistake." She frowned deeply. "…and I don't know why I kept getting…" she rubbed her temples with frustrated.
The glass of alcohol set front of Lexi who thanked the bartender. "Getting what?" she propped Caroline with curious as she grabbed her glass and drank it one go. Kol hummed with slightly impressed with her lack of react by the strong alcohol she just drank.
"I said this to Bonnie—my friend—that… when I'm around him, my words always turned around. I kept changing my mind and I even let him get away with abusing me. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself." Caroline scoffed in disgusted with herself.
Kol frowned. "That's only because you are under his compulsion spell, darling. But your instinct is getting stronger." He was amazed.
"You noticed the compulsion?" Lexi blurted it out in surprised.
Caroline blinked with confused. "What are you talking about?"
Kol narrowed his eyes at Lexi warily. Lexi shakes her head. "Wait, did you just say that Damon abused you?" Caroline nodded her head as she lifted her hand to touch her covered bite-scar with her make-up. Lexi's brown eyes dart at it then growled softly. "Shit, a vampire. Of bloody course." Kol murmured while Lexi send her dark glares at older Salvatore across the room.
"Listen to me, Caroline. Whatever that asshole did to you, ignore him."
The blonde-haired beauty leaned her arms against the counter. "How? Whatever I try something, I ended up wanting to please him." She spat with anger.
Lexi carefully observed the blonde-haired girl quietly then she slides off her ring from her finger. "Here." Caroline shifted her blue-green eyes to the ring and cock her eyebrow at it.
"Why are you showing me your mood ring?" Caroline asked with confused.
The blonde-haired vampire smirked widely. "This mood ring was from nineteen-seventy-five that was passed down from friend to friend for good luck charm."
Caroline gently takes the ring and observed it. "Good luck charm?" she asked, skeptical.
"I know it's not the beautiful ring in the world, but it does work wonder against assholes like Damon." Caroline hummed with curious. "It helps you not to be easily control by anyone as long as you have confident and this ring."
Kol's eyes lit up. "That's a vervain ring." His undead heart rise with hopeful.
Caroline bit her lips with worried. "Are you sure you want me to have it? It's kind of wrong because it belongs to you. I mean—you said it was pass down from friend to friend right? So, shouldn't you be giving it to your friend?"
"…but I am giving it to a friend." Lexi said with a sweet smile.
Caroline raise her eyebrow at her. "Excuse me?"
The blonde-haired vampire winked at her. "We are friends, right?"
Kol grinned widely. "I like you."
Caroline bit her lip with thoughtful. "But… don't you need good luck charm?"
"Don't worry about it. I have other good luck charm." Lexi said with a mysterious smile. Then she ordered another drink while Caroline stared at the mood ring and finally slide it in her left middle finger. Kol was relief. "Oh thank bloody Goddess." Now his human is safe from the compulsion spell.
After Lexi drank her alcohol. She slides off the stool and whirled around to Caroline. "Would you like to join me in dance?" Caroline bit her lip, contemplative. Lexi rolls her eyes. "Come on. You look like you need it. Dance with me, be free and wild without worry." She offers her hand to the blonde-haired beauty with a smirk.
Caroline slowly break a smile and nod her head. "All right." She accepted Lexi's hand and Lexi cheered. Kol grinned widely as he watches his human dragged to the dance floor.
In the dance floor, Lexi start swings her hips while Caroline whirled her hips around as their arms are in the air. Following the beats of the music. Kol leaned his shoulder against the wall as his arms crossed while he is watching his human dancing with blonde-haired vampire. Lexi has no idea that she just gained respect and gratitude from dangerous immortal vampire because of her kindness to his human.
The next song plays which bring excitement cheered from the crowd.

He smirked seductively with excited glint in his eyes.

They are enjoying the freedom in their moves on the dance floor as the music roaring over them. For the first time, Caroline is truly enjoying her time in the party. Even though she never met Lexi except about ten minutes ago. Something tells her that Lexi is one of the honest true people that Caroline doesn't mind staying friend with her.

Unknowingly that Bonnie is videoing with her phone at Caroline who is dancing with another friend on the dance floor. Bonnie hasn't seen such lively and bright smiles on her best friend's face for a long time. The petite witch smiles widely while bobbled her head as she is enjoying listening to the music from Kat Graham, the famous singer.

When the song fades away, Caroline and Lexi giggles with pleased and ecstatic from the dance they did together. "That was so much fun!" the blonde-haired beauty admitted with lovely, delightful smile that made her blue-green eyes shines.
"I agreed." Lexi nod her head with a smirked. "I'm gonna head to the bar and grabbed another drink." Caroline nodded her head with understanding. "Be back later."
Caroline waves her hand against her heat face as she attempts to cool down. She decided to head the different bar where they sell sodas and waters. She needed water as she is thirsty. Kol pushed himself away from the wall and quickly catch up to his human across the room. He made a face when he walked through people. He doesn't like the feeling since it's awkward and strange for him.
Kol step beside her and smirked at her. "You dance wonderfully, love." He murmured with thrilled. He really enjoyed watching her dance. He can't wait to dance with her one day.
However, the joyful moods instantly ruined when Damon nearly runs into Caroline. "Where is it?"
"Where is what?" Caroline frowned at him as she crossed her arms, defensive.
Damon rolled his eyes. "The crystal."
The blonde-haired beauty shakes her head. "Why do you care about that?"
"Because I need it." Damon gritted his teeth, feeling completely annoyed by her. He stared at her as his pupils expands. "Get the necklace from Bonnie."
Caroline scoffed. "No." she snapped, and Damon's eyes widen in surprised while Kol has shit-eating grinned on his face with pleased. "If you wanted the necklace so damn bad then get it yourself, asshole!" Kol cackled as he purely loves seeing Damon's priceless speechless face. "And stay away from me, from Bonnie and from Elena. Or I will take one phone call from my mother and have her arrest your sorry ass to jail." She hisses angrily as she steps forward while her eyes darken with slight resentment. "Understand me?"
Damon didn't respond so Caroline poked his chest with her finger hard. "I said. Do you understand. Mr. Salvatore." Her voice is lower and filled with irritation. He stared at her eyes then jerked his head. "Good." Caroline whirled around without caring that her hair hit his face and walked away with confident.
Kol beamed with proud of his human. "She is never meant to be yours to play around, tosser. Spend your numbers of many days until I'm free from dagger, Damon Salvatore." He said darkly then quickly went after the blonde-haired beauty.
Caroline paused by the bar and exhaled. "I did it." A slow delightful smile appeared on her face. Kol stared at her with fond eyes. Her blue-green eyes dart down at the mood ring on her finger. "I need to thank her." She whispered softly. "Lexi is awesome." Kol will definitely thank the blonde-haired vampire, he wondered if she would like to have a reward. He has noticed that she didn't have any daylight ring so maybe he could have it made and give it to her?
After a moment searching for Lexi who is near at the pool tables area with Stefan. "Lexi!" the blonde-haired vampire glanced up with curious, when she saw Caroline. A smile break out on her face. The blonde-haired beauty almost instantly beeline to her. "I did it!" Caroline said with excited squealed.
"Oh?" Lexi held onto the stick while Stefan raise his eyebrow with confused. "Did what?"
The blonde-haired beauty raises her hand that she is wearing the mood ring. Stefan recognized it and glanced at Lexi with a curious and puzzled face. "Damon demanded me to do something for him but I said no. I finally did it with a clear mind! This ring is definitely a good luck charm."
"All thanks to you, sweetheart." Kol nods his head at Lexi while standing close to his human.
Lexi smirked widely with satisfaction. "That's great."
Caroline glanced at Stefan. "Your best friend is awesome." Lexi flipped her long hair over her shoulder with a smug smile.
"See? She said I'm awesome, Stefan." Lexi leaned to her best friend. "You should treasure me."
Stefan chuckled softly with a soft grinned. "I'm already aware of how awesome you are."
The blonde-haired beauty studied them carefully and saw how they are comfortable with each other. It makes her think of how close she was with her two best friends. "I hope you don't mind if you share her with me. I'm starting to grow liking her." Caroline speak up with shy yet sweet smile. Kol stared at her smile as he took the time to memorize it in his mind.
"Of course!" Lexi accepted it happily. "If my boyfriend and Stefan can share me, then I wouldn't mind have you part of my group." she noticed Stefan questioning eyes. "What? Caroline is a sweet girl and she knows how to throw a party, birthday boy."
Caroline perked up. "Birthday? I didn't know today was your birthday. Happy birthday!" she genuinely congratulates Stefan on his birthday.
"Thank you." Stefan thanked her before he send his exasperated yet playful glares at Lexi but smiles faux-innocently back.
Lexi hummed. "I should get us some drink. Tequila shots sounds good." She glanced at Caroline. "I'll get you one."
"Oh! You don't have to—"
Lexi just shakes her head and hands out her stick to Caroline. "Nope. I'm getting it. Take my place for a moment and I shall get us drinks." She left to the bar before Caroline grabbed the stick not unkindly.
Kol shakes his head with amused and watches his human and Stefan started to lightly chatting and playing pool while waiting for Lexi.
When Lexi returns with three-shot tequila, she hands one to Stefan and to Caroline. "Okay, ready?" she counts down to zero and all three of them drank it simultaneously. Lexi released a loud whoop while Stefan shakes his head and Caroline coughed few times. "That hit the spot."
The bad boy Original smiles softly while he is content, watching his human playing the pool with Lexi against Stefan as Caroline is genuinely having fun.

"You are wasted, love." Kol blunted with amused when he watches Caroline humming to herself cheerily. Lexi stared at the blonde-haired beauty with a humorous smile while Stefan shakes his head.
"I told you it's a bad idea to get her a vodka." Stefan scolded his best friend who surrendered her hands.
Lexi scoffed lightly. "Oh come on! She deserves it! Care finally stood up against that asshole brother of yours and she wants to feel free and wild. How can I deny her that?" she defended herself and Stefan stared at her with a look. "You try tell her no after seeing her sweet shy smile when she asked you something." Kol agreed with Lexi, if his human looks at him like that, he will give her the world.
The young Salvatore glanced at Caroline who is leaning against the stick with giggly shy smiling on her face as her blue-green eyes shines brightly.
"Maybe we should take her home." Stefan mention which Lexi examined the human girl and nod her head, agreed with her best friend.
"Yeah, we should."
Kol watches Stefan send the stick on the pool table and went to Caroline. "Come on, let's take you home." Lexi gently takes the stick from Caroline's hands and put it away. Stefan carefully lifted the blonde-haired beauty up in bridal-style. Caroline wrapped her arms around Stefan's neck and her head landed on his shoulder. "Be gentle with her, mate." Kol muttered, warned the young vampire while concerned over his human.
"All right. Got her purse." Lexi wave Caroline's purse.
Soon, Stefan, Caroline, and Lexi left through the doors outside of the Grill. Kol frowned when he noticed the polices and Caroline's mother. Sheriff Forbes turned her head and eyes widen with worried when she saw her daughter is carrying by Stefan.
Caroline's mother immediately darts toward them. "What happened?! Is she okay?"
"Like you care." Caroline giggly as her eyes fluttered shut.
Lexi and Stefan glanced at each other while Kol cringes slightly. Sheriff Forbes frowns until her blue eyes lit up with understanding. "She's drunk?" she blurted in disbelieved, disapproved, and disappointed. "Are they serving you in there?" she asked Stefan and Lexi with a stern face.
"Stefan saw her drinking and he was worried that anyone might take advantage of her." Lexi speak up with smooth lies as a polite smile on her face. "So, he thought it would be wise to take her home and I offer to go with them just in case." Kol approved the lies.
Sheriff Forbes narrowed her eyes at Lexi warily. "Who are you?"
"I'm Lexi and I'm here to celebrated my best friend, Stefan's birthday today." Lexi explained her reason with a civilly smile. Stefan nodded his head, confirmed that it was the truth.
Caroline's mother frowned with confused as she furrowed her eyebrows. "I see… okay. Well, please take her home safe." Her blue eyes shifted to her daughter. "You and I will discuss this later."
"Can't wait." The blonde-haired beauty sang uncaringly.
Lexi pressed her lips together while Stefan half-grinned awkwardly as Kol sighed fondly. "Oh sweetheart."

Damon frowned deeply as his icy-blue eyes scanned around the bar while holding a glass of alcohol. He spotted Elena who is sitting on the chair with a full glass of water with a straw. She is twirling her straw, playing the ice cube inside. The dark-haired vampire sauntered toward her direction and sat in front of her across the table.
"Hello." Damon smirked at Elena who raised her eyebrow at him with cautioned. "I don't see Stefan or Lexi anywhere." He commented, indifferently.
Elena sighed. "I watched Stefan and Lexi taking Caroline home." She noticed his perplexed face. "She's drunk. So, I assumed they felt responsible enough to take her home."
"Ah… how kind of them." Damon gritted his teeth with a fake smile while Elena just hummed quietly in response. Then he noticed Sheriff Forbes carrying the victim girl with few police officers behind. The older Salvatore cursed under his breath.
After a moment, the victim girl glanced up at the Sheriff and shakes her head. They turned around and left the Grill. Damon curled his hands into fists with furious and frustrated. 'Well, fuck.' it seems one of his plans is a failure.
"How did you get out?" Damon snapped his attention to Elena. "Stefan mentions that he trapped you in the basement… how did you get out?" the brunette repeated her question with curiosity.
The older Salvatore smirked. "Vicki." He simply answered which Elena frowned at him. "Before she was… uh, ya know… becoming a vamp and gank."
Elena lowered her eyes and stare at the glass of water while twirling her straw. "…I still can't believe she's really gone." She whispered, guilty, and sad.
Damon sighed and glanced around. "Start to believe it and move on." He blunted indifferently. Damon needs to restart his new plans again.
If only Lexi stays in Grill. If only Caroline gets that damn crystal. If only someone stops fucked up his plans!

Meanwhile…
Lexi flipped the switched on in the blonde-haired beauty's bedroom while Stefan steps to the bed while Kol watches them quietly. "It's a good thing she invited us before she black out." Lexi chirped happily.
Stefan chortled and carefully settle Caroline on the bed. Lexi helped the human girl by taking her heels off and set them down on the ground. "Yeah…" he moved the duvet cover from under Caroline's motionless body and covered her. He paused as he stares at the slightly smudges concealer on her neck. "…thank you."
Lexi looked up before she moved Caroline's heels by the closest door. "What?"
"You didn't have to give up your vervain ring to her." Stefan shifted his eyes to Lexi with a solemn face. "I know that mood ring once belonged to someone you loved from the seventy-five."
Kol glanced at the two vampires back and forth while listening carefully. Lexi straightens up her spine and smiles sadly. "There's no need for a vampire like me who wears a vervain ring. She needs it more than I do. Plus, your asshole of a brother is targeting her, and I don't appreciate the fact that he abused her. Which, by the way, I'm going to kick his ass." Kol grinned at her.
Stefan shakes his head with a slight grinned. He gently brushes Caroline's hair away from her face. "But still… that ring belonged to your last dead relative. You sure it's okay to give it up for her?" Stefan knew how much his best friend adored the mood ring. Kol raises his eyebrow with surprise by this.
"…Caroline reminds me of her. My great-niece was strong and confident yet so shy and hopeful." The blonde-haired vampire smiles fondly yet sadness. "I know for the fact that my great-niece would want me to pass her vervain ring to an innocent human in order to protect her from vampires. Plus—" Lexi walked to the slumbered girl and stroke her hair. "—something tells me that she is special." She added with a mysterious smile.
"Ain't that truth, darling." Kol chuckled, agreed with Lexi.
After that, Lexi left her name and numbers on the piece of paper and placed it near the stuffed blue cat on the vanity. Stefan and his best friend turned the lights off, shut the door, and leave the house in their vampire speed.
Kol sighed with relief. "Stefan Salvatore and Lexi Branson." He won't forget their names as he will reward them for protecting his human.
