Mystic Falls
Woods
Early Morning…

A man who is backpacking through the woods happily as he enjoys the morning smell. Suddenly, he hears the sounds of twigs snapping and he turned around. He blinked at the tall stature and an athletic build African American man with slightly curled black hair and dark brown eyes. "Jeez! You scared me."

"Do you know what day it is?" the man asked, politely.

The hiker frowned with confused. "Saturday." He answered.

"And what year?"

"It's two-thousand and ten. Are you okay?" The hiker step closer to the lost man who wears worn-out century-old clothes.

However, the man just nod his head. "Thank you." He turned around to leave but he was stopped by the hiker.

"Wait, what's your name?"

The man turned back and answer. "It's Harper, sir."

The hiker step inches closer while observing Harper. "How did you get out here? And why are you dressed like that?" he asked, concerned.

Harper stared at him with apologetic. "You seem like a very nice person. I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what?"

Harper extends his fangs and bites down on the hiker's neck as the man screams loudly through the empty oblivious woods.

After a moment, Harper has switched out the clothing as he is wearing the dead man's clothes in properly modern fashion. He flinched when he heard the ringing tone, he searches for the noise and took out an object that releasing the strange noise. He stared at it in confused then dropped it on the ground.

Harper turned around and leaves the woods quickly. A flash of a beautiful young woman with white-blonde hair that flows over her shoulders, bright large blue eyes, fair skin, and lovely pink lips that forms a smile on her face through his mind. "Emmanuella…" he whispered; he recalled his promise to her. He used his vamp speed with a mission in his mind.

Forbes Residence
Caroline's Bedroom
Later…

Caroline furrowed her eyebrows as she is laying on her back against her bed while staring at the ceiling. She is laying on her side while Kol is on the other side, next to his human as he, too staring at the ceiling. "Wait… so, let me get this clear." The blonde-haired beauty folded her fingers on her stomach with thoughtful face. "You are nineteen years old dead ghost for centuries, stuck on this Earth for some ghost business, and you like old music?"

"Well, darling… I've been daggered by my brother early nineteenth century and I woke up in your bedroom few months ago. Apologize that I haven't gotten around to bother learning about modern music these days." Kol sarcastically said as he taps his human's hand.

Caroline could feel the cold touch on her hand and hummed. She has been asking so many questions to the ghost entire morning and finding herself rather comfortable. "Well, I don't know if you knew this already but… my name is Caroline Forbes, I'm seventeen years old and I love dancing and events. They are really fun."

"I'm aware of that." Kol recalled how excited Caroline was whenever there are dance or parties that will happened in the Mystic Falls. He briefly wondered why this town has so many events going on. Kol placed his one arm behind his head while his other arm on his stomach.

Caroline gasped as her eyes widen. "Oh my god! I totally forgot to ask your name!" she lightly hit her head which amuses Kol. "Is it a long name?" she didn't get any cold touch, so she nods her head. "Then it should be easier for me. Are there like—five letters?" no tap. "Six? Seven? Eight? Four? Three?" tap.

The blonde-haired beauty blinked. "That's a very short name." she blunted.

Kol glanced at her with mirth in his eyes. It's not like he chose his name. He was born with it, after all. Caroline hummed softly. "Okay, I will start the alphabet order for first letter. Tap me when I reach your first letter." She starts with the beginning letter A.

On the eleventh letter, she felt the cold touch. "K? Alright." She smiles, excited to learn what his real name is. "Second letter, from the start. A…B…" she repeated until she stopped fifteenth letter. "K. O… one more letter. A…"

Kol's undead heart lift the thought of his human start saying his real name. He wonders what it would be like to hear it from her lips. He taps her when she reached the twelfth letter. "L…"

Caroline tilted her head as her eyes stays on the ceiling. "K. O. L. Is that right?" another taps from the ghost. "…your name is Kol?" another tap, on her cheek this time. "It's a nice name." she said shyly.

The Original smiles softly at his human. He really likes it.

He likes hearing his name from her lips.

Town Square
Meanwhile…

Harper walks through into the middle of the square and glanced around, completely overwhelmed by the changes over the past century and a half. He has been used to changing throughout in his four-hundreds years on Earth. So, it was confusion and awkward for him to miss a hundred and fifty years with a blink.

He scanned around his surroundings as he noted there are many changes but there are still same from the past. Such as benches, roads, trees, and some old buildings that was improved at this modern time. Harper shakes his head. He needs to find her. The vampire made promised to her and in order to do that, he needs to find her descendant.

However, he knew that he also needs to find his old friend, Pearl. He briefly wondered if his old friend has reunited with her daughter. Maybe he should find Pearl first and figure it out from there. Since he doesn't know if her descendant is alive or living in this town. He turned around and ambled down the road with new goal in mind to find his long-time old friend.

Mystic Grill
Later…

Kol doesn't understand why housewives would be interested to "purchase" the bachelor. He knew that this event is some kind of fundraiser but still, it baffles him somewhat. He used to women of all creatures kind fall at his feet anytime, anywhere. Except, this time he is fancy the human girl's feet and her cute tiny star tattoo.

Caroline and Elena are chatting lightly as the blonde-haired beauty is charged of selling tickets and names for the bachelor event. Until Caroline's eyes sparkle with knowledge. "Oh, hi Mrs. Donovan." She didn't expect to see Matt's mother.

"Hi Kelly." Elena greeted the woman who glances at Caroline with distaste and smiles lovely at Elena.

Kol glares at the woman while Caroline blinked with confused, wondering why Matt's mother shown dislikes to her.

"Elena, honey." Kelly and Elena exchanged hugs. "Long time no see."

Elena break the hug and smiles at Kelly. "How are you doing?"

"Oh, same old. Matty tells me you broke his heart." Kelly blunted to Elena who looked uncomfortable while Caroline pressed her lips together and Kol dryly chortled. "It's a shame, really." The woman shakes her head with disappointedly then she handed Caroline her money. "Here you go, sweetheart. However many that'll buy."

Caroline just nod her head with a small polite smile as she accepted the money. Kol examined the woman from top to bottom with a face. "How utterly dull." He commented, dryly.

Kelly leaned her elbow against the counter. "I just hope one day you and Matty will find the spark again." She said to Elena with hopeful smile.

"Oh… um… well, I don't think it's possible." The brunette chuckled awkwardly. "I…uh… I'm in a relationship with someone. I'm very happy with him." She said with dreamily eyes.

Matt's mother hummed. "I see. Well, you are young. Things will change in the future." She glanced over Caroline. "I just hope Matty won't find a girl to rebound. Like her, for example. No offense." She pointed her eyes at Caroline whose eyes widen in astonished and hurt. Elena rubbed the back of her neck, uncomfortable.

"Offences taken!" Kol snapped with anger at the bitter woman. Caroline cleared her throat as she tore out the right amount of tickets and handed to Kelly who takes it not unkindly.

"Thank you. I just hope I don't get Bachelor three. I dated him in high school. Not impressive." Kelly lowered her voice. "In any way." Caroline and Elena exchanged their discomfited glances. "Very exciting." The woman waves the tickets with a smirk and walks off into the Grill.

Kol shakes his head with disgust. "What a twat." He glanced at Caroline who still looked hurt. He reached her cheek and lightly brush it with his feather-like touches.

The blonde-haired beauty shivered when she felt the cold touch on her cheek. Slowly, a small thankful smile appeared on her face. "I'm fine, Kol. Thanks." She whispered under her breath. Kol's undead heart nearly skip a beat when he heard his name from her lips and how she thanked him just by brush on her cheek with is fingers. "Of course, darling." He wishes Caroline could hear him, but this is good enough for him.

For now.

"I'm gonna go hang out with Jenna." Elena excused herself as Caroline nod her head and placed her chin on her palm.

The blonde-haired beauty shivered when she felt the cold touch on her hand that was on the table. "I don't know if you realize this or not…" she muttered under her breath when Kol leaned closer to hear her. "…but your touches are very freezing." She said with a half-smile amused.

"I know darling. That's because I'm a transparent ghost." Kol pointed it out blankly then tap her cheek which Caroline moved her face away with a playful annoyance. "Stop that." She whispered, while glances around as she doesn't want people to think she's crazy, talking to the air.

Kol sniggered.

"Caroline." The blonde-haired beauty snapped her head over to Mrs. Lockwood who called out her name with a polite smile. "Would you mind get me one of the tickets, please?" she handed her money to the blonde-haired beauty. "And…umm… you think I could get a certain bachelor?"

Caroline raise her eyebrow at the woman while Kol leaned against the table with his arms folded. "Well—" she paused when her blue-green eyes spotted Kelly from the distance then her eyes twinkle with mischief. Kol perked up when he saw her slyly smirk. "—actually, I can." She leaned forward to Mrs. Lockwood. "As long as I could pick two chosen for the bachelors. What do you say?"

"Hmm… I say that's a bit fair. Since I'm a judge and participant." Mrs. Lockwood said with an understanding smile.

Kol glanced at his human and Mrs. Lockwood back and forth with amusement.

Caroline instantly writes down the numbers on the paper along with bachelor numbers. "Alright, who do you want to accompany you?"

"Bachelor number five."

The blonde-haired beauty blinked in surprise. "Damon Salvatore?" Kol snapped his eyes at her with puzzled yet weirded out. The woman nod her head and Caroline firm her lips together.

The blonde-haired beauty wrote down the numbers and handed to the woman who thanked her and left. Caroline hummed softly. "…well, at least I'll get—no, we'll get to see the reaction." She muttered as Kol's heart swell in warmth when his heard his human saying "we" instead of "I".

After a moment, Carol Lockwood is in the middle of introduces each of the bachelors on stage and now, Mrs. Lockwood pulls out a raffle ticket from the bowl. "And bachelor number three goes to…"

Caroline straightens up her spine as Kol glanced at her and saw her eyes stared at the distance. His dark gaze followed and saw Kelly. "…three-seven-four-five-eight."

"That's me." Kelly announced with numbers of ticker in her hand with sour smile. Caroline smirks proudly of herself while Kol chortled.

"You paired that twat with her ex who was a plumber! Classic, darling." Kol approved of his human's lovely devious side. Kelly stepped up to Carol who smiles at her with a stiff smile.

"Ah, Kelly Donovan. Lovely." Kelly takes the ticket from Carol and headed to Caroline to claim her prize.

Caroline smiles politely at Kelly. "Congratulations, Mrs. Donovan."

Matt's mother rolled her eyes rudely. "Okay, just stop." Caroline raise her eyebrow with confused. "Stop trying so hard. This thing you're doing, this nice thing, it's fake. Like you. Like your mom." She spat distastefully. "I won't fall for it. I don't like you, okay? So tell plumber boy I'll be at the bar."

"Okay." Caroline simply said while Kol glared at the bitch that he wants to slap her. Her blue-green eyes watch Kelly walks off with slightly hurt. "…what a bitch." She muttered; it didn't help that this woman doesn't like her just because Sheriff Forbes is her mother.

"I agreed with you, sweetheart. Ignore the hag. She's just jealous." Kol gently brushes his human's cheek with the back of his finger.

The blonde-haired beauty sighed as she suppressed the shivers when she felt the cold once again on her cheek. "You must be really like my cheeks, Kol." She whispered with slightly humorous.

Kol smirked widely. "Of course I do. You have lovely cheeks." He commented, shamelessly. "It's a shame that you won't hear my compliments for you, love." Shame, indeed.

Mrs. Lockwood cleared her throat and grabbed another ticket. "For bachelor number four." Most of the women in the crowd perked up with excitement and nervousness. "Three-seven-six-four-nine."

Many of the women in the crowd make disappointed sounds while a beautiful woman; Jenna raises her hand. "That's me."

Caroline smiles happily. "Jenna deserve a better man in her life than Logan Fell, he was her ex." She whispered softly and Kol hummed with understanding.

"You are too kind, sweetheart." Kol muttered as he taps her hand gently. Caroline just smiles as she rubs her hands together to warm them.

Then finally, the judge grabbed another ticket while Jenna hands her ticket to Caroline while Alaric walks over to Jenna.

"And bachelor number five…" Mrs. Lockwood read the numbers out loud. "Three-seven-five-five-two." She chuckled softly as she glanced around. "Would you look at that? Three-seven-five-five-two. What are the chances? Me."

Kol snorted and glanced at Caroline who is amused by this. "Who would've thought you could be such mischievous, vixen." He murmured with flirtatiously smirked on his face. He likes seeing his human having a playful side. It's a rather turn on for him.

He wants to see more of that side.

Miss Gibbons' Residence
Later…

Harper sauntered down a path through the woods as he approaches a large, beautiful house. Once he headed up on the porch to the front door. He knocks it and waited.

Soon, the woman answered and saw him. She glanced over her shoulder. "Pearl, it's Harper." The woman called out and left.

Harper waited for a minute until he saw his old friend and her daughter. Pearl smiles warmly at him as she nods her head at him. "Harper, my old friend. I'm glad you found us." Her daughter went to get the owner of the house quickly.

"I assume you came here for the information?"

Harper nodded his head and saw a human woman arrived with Anna. Pearl glanced at the human with a polite smile. "Ms. Gibbons, this gentleman is an old friend of mine. May he come in?"

Ms. Gibbons nodded her head with a friendly smile as her eyes dazed that she is under the compelled spell. "Any friend of Pearl's is a friend of mine. Please do. Come in."

Harper nodded his head and enters the house. Pearl turned her head to her daughter. "Annabelle, close the door, please." Anna nod her head and obeyed her mother.

The vampire followed the Asian vampire down the hallway while Anna quietly shuts the door. Once they reached the family room and took a seat on the couch. "Now, would I be assumed you want the information about her descendant?"

"You assumed correct, Pearl." Harper answered respectfully as he crosses his arms. "Emmanuella's descendant… where is she and who is she?" he asked, curious.

Anna walked into the family room and sat on the overgrown chair quietly. Pearl lean back against the couch with a thoughtful face. "As you know, only ancient witches and spirits know the answer to that question. However, according to Annabelle's knowledge, there is a high possibility that Emmanuella's descendant lives in Mystic Falls."

"And how you come to that conclusion?" Harper turned his brown eyes to Anna with a harsh serious face.

Pearl's daughter swallowed dryly. She reminded herself that this man is over four-hundred years old, an old friend of her mother's, and an experienced soldier. Forget the fact that she's older than Harper, this man is dangerous because he was a war soldier. "I saw them. The doppelganger, Katherine's descendant, and the Bennett witch, Imogen's descendant."

Harper hummed. "And Emmanuella's descendant would be here." He understands. "After all, no matter where or how those three are somehow connected to each other."

"Correct." Pearl nod her head. "Unfortunately, we have no intel of who this girl is yet."

The veteran vampire frowned deeply. "I promised her, Pearl. You know that." He said, gravely.

The Asian vampire sighed softly. "I know, my friend. I too, promised Emmanuella. I did not forget." She reminded Harper with a stern face.

Anna doesn't understand exactly what happened, but she has heard of this woman, Emmanuella from her mother a handful of times. "Mama…" Pearl shifted her eyes to her. "…I know that you said she was your friend but… I don't get what could have been so important about her descendant? Wasn't she just…normal?"

"No." her mother shakes her head with sparkly eyes. "Emmanuella was a very special woman." Harper agreed with Pearl with a nod. "Her kind appeared every five hundred years exist on this Earth."

The young Asian vampire stared at her mother and the soldier in shocked. "W-what do you mean? H-how is that possible? What do you mean by her kind?" she doesn't understand.

Harper opened his mouth. "From my knowledge, her kind was created by Nature which is very rare."

Anna still looks confused, so her mother clarified for her. "Emmanuella along with her ancestors and her descendant is made by Nature's magic." Slowly the young Asian vampire attempt to understand. "It means that Emmanuella was a Child of Nature."

"And her descendant this time is—" Anna finally understands why this is so important with disbelief shocked and Pearl nodded her head, confirmed that Anna's realization is correct.

Harper frowned. "And we need to find out who she is. I cannot wait any longer than unnecessary. I promised." He has to leave and search for her descendant.

"And your promise never will be broken." Pearl assured him solemnly. "We will find the descendants as soon as possible." She promised her old friend who reluctantly nods his head.

The soldier vampire hopes they will find her as fast as possible because he has to deliver his promise.

Before it's too late.

Before Emmanuella's descendant vanish from existence, just like the ancestors.
