Year of 2010
Two Weeks Later…

It's been over two weeks since Caroline found Vicki's body. Two weeks since she spent a few nights with her father and his boyfriend. And it has been nearly a month since Kol has seen the Bennett witch for the last time, well, until now at least.

The transparent ghost watches amused as his human squeals with excitement. "Bonnie! Bonnie!" the blonde-haired beauty unknowingly interrupts Bonnie and Elena's conversation outside of the courtyard.

Caroline instantly hugs the petite witch who hugged the blonde back happily. Kol examined the witch as he noted she looked tired and worn-out but somehow better. He had learned long ago that Bonnie's grandmother passed away, and he knew his human had her suspicions, he also knew she won't mention anything about witches or supernatural to that matter.

After all, the blonde doesn't want to bring up bad memories to make her best friend sad again.

Since well, this is Caroline Forbes.

"Thank god you're home!" The blonde-haired beauty breaks the hug but her hands rested still on Bonnie's arms with a beaming smile on her face. "I know we texted like, everyday, but I still missed you."

Noticing the doppelganger watching them quietly, the upset clear on her face, Kol became confused but soon shrugged it off as he didn't really care about it.

"How are you doing?" Caroline asked the petite witch with concern.

"Better. You know, just glad to be back and trying to keep myself busy." Bonnie answered with a soft smile.

The blonde-haired beauty smiles with hope and excitement. "Well, I can help with that. Major wardrobe problem. You need to help me pick up the perfect dress for the Founders' court."

Kol perked up with interest when he realized how excited and eager his human was. Elena frowned with confusion. "The Founders' court? Did I miss something?"

"The Founders' court!" Caroline turned her blue-green eyes to Elena with slight disbelief. "You know, Miss Mystic Falls. They announced it today and you and I are both on it."

"Is that so, darling?" Kol muttered, wondering what kind of event this was.

Elena gasps. "Oh my god! We signed up for that so long ago… I completely forgot."

The blonde-haired beauty tilted her head. "So, are you dropping out then?" she couldn't hide her hopeful tone which made Bonnie glance at her with knowingly eyes while Kol sighed. He knew, and was extremely frustrated, about the fact that his human still feels like she's in Elena's shadow.

"I can't…" Elena trailed off sadly.

Caroline shifted her gaze to Bonnie with confusion. "No?"

Bonnie sighed. "Her mom is the one who wanted her to enter." She answered and Caroline understood it immediately.

Kol narrowed his eyes at Elena, to Bonnie, and then to Caroline. "Now I'm curious."

Founders Hall
Later…

Kol watched his human who is currently being asked random and typical questions by the Judges who are interviewing her. He stood behind her chair, his elbows on top of it as his chin rested on his palms. His dark gaze has been shifted to the three women who are asking questions to Caroline, who is currently sitting stiffly in the chair with a polite smile who hides a thousand worries.

Carol Lockwood has been talking non-stop for a while now, which forced Kol to mentally entertain himself with the thought of five different ways to take out these boring hearts from their chest just by using a pencil. "—the queen will have the special honor of taking stage at the hundred and fiftieth Founders' Day Gala. Before we crown our winner, we'd like to get to know a bit more about each of you."

"I am the captain of the cheerleaders at Mystic Falls High. I'm also on Mystic Falls beautification committee. I volunteer at the poor soup kitchen. I implemented this year's go green campaign at school. I worked for the recycling program and I also were in charge of this year's police raffle." And while he knew nobody would hear him, Kol still clamped, impressed for his human achievements.

He knew Caroline was a volunteer and signed up for many, many things, but he hadn't realized how busy her schedule was. "I know how much of an honor it is to be the girl crowned Miss Mystic Falls since my grandmother was crowned one about seven decades ago, and both of my aunts were also crowned from about three and two decades ago. My mother couldn't get the opportunity since the unfortunate accident around the time of Founders' Day. And I am honored to be picked as one of the candidates and I will show my worth and prove how committed I am to this and continue to improve our community."

The Original has been listening with a neutral face while the interview continued for a moment until Mrs. Lockwood smiled at Caroline politely. "That will be all the questions. Don't forget that practice for the formal dance will be at three-thirty this afternoon in the high school lunchroom." She reminded Caroline.

The blonde-haired beauty smiles. "Of course." She stood up. "Thank you all for your time." She left the room and sighed with relief. "God that was so intense and nerve-wracking." She muttered while wiping the sweat of her palms against her shirt.

"I think you did wonderful, darling." The Original gently stroked his human's cheek who shivered slightly.

Caroline smiles softly. "What do you think, Kol… tap for a good job or no tap for a bad job?" she asked while walking down the empty hallway. Kol hummed as he poke his human's forehead. The blonde-haired beauty made a face when she felt the cold touch on her forehead.

"Well, at least you think it's a good job for me." Caroline mumbled, she couldn't contain her nervousness because she really wanted to win Miss Mystic Falls.

Lunchroom
Later…

The ghost of the Original Vampire is currently sitting on top of the table while he made disbelieved and disgusted faces at the lunchroom.

Carol is teaching dance moves to the girls who are in the Mystic Falls pageant and learning along with their partners. "Honor your partner." Kol narrowed his eyes at Caroline and Matt who stepped a little to close at his human. The blonde-haired beauty curtsied as Matt bowed, the others followed the action properly. "Stay focused, right hand around." Matt raised his eyebrows at her as they both held up their right hands and moved to the left. "Flirt with your eyes." Mrs. Lockwood instructed them and the music began to play.

"Oi, you look like you were gutted like a fish." Kol threw his irritated comment at Matt. He doesn't like watching anyone, who isn't him, dancing with his human. Unfortunately, he can't, much to his displeasure, to it himself. Kol knew that Matt and Caroline are strictly friends but still…

Kol is a possessive man. He can't help it since Caroline Forbes is a girl who he has taken fancy for a while now.

"Left hand around."

Caroline and Matt exchanged their silent laughing how silly the dance was. "Both hands." Mrs. Lockwood instructed while watching them. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Stefan grabs Elena, spins her around and catches her in his arms. The other watched them amused while Mrs. Lockwood shakes her head and walks toward them. "Oh no. No, no. There's no touching during this part." —"Thank bloody Goddess for that."— "It's about the simple intimacy of the near touch." —"How about no touch, never?"

Caroline and Matt glanced at each other with raised eyebrows as Mrs. Lockwood scolded Elena and Stefan. Then Mrs. Lockwood turned around and praised a random girl when she walked back to her spot. "Very nice, Amber."

"Thank you, Mrs. Lockwood." Amber said with a very timid smile.

Kol dropped his chin on his palm that rested against his knee while his dark gaze was on Caroline and, unfortunately, Matt. He watches them practicing the dance moves which he easily memorized because the dance was simple and repetitive. "How unpleasantly dull." Kol murmured. He would rather dance with different moves from his knowledge, and he wouldn't mind showing his human how a real couple dance.

"One of these days, I will show you what it's like to dance with an actual man, love." He wiggles his eyebrows with a leer smirk at his blonde-haired beauty.

Soon, Mrs. Lockwood claps her hands to gain all attention on her before the music stopped. "Excellent job. If you believe that you had your dance moves down, then you are free to leave. If not, we will go to another rehearsal again in thirty minutes." Carol turned her gaze to the candidates. "Remember, the event is tomorrow and make sure you have everything you need to be ready." She informed them once again, to make sure the girls are aware of it.

"It's about bloody time! Glad it was over." Kol is relieved that his human is finished with this idiotic rehearsal when he heard her telling her partner that she was confident with her dance as Matt does too.

Kol jumped down from the table and made a beeline toward the blonde-haired beauty who gathered her things and paused when her blue-green eyes spotted Bonnie who was talking to Elena outside of the lunchroom. "Huh… there's tension going on over there." Caroline mumbled, confused and worried.

"Hmm, don't care." Kol blunted uncaringly as he shoves his hands in his front pockets. He followed Caroline step forward with warily and slightly discomfort. "Hey." She playfully sang with hope to lessen the tension between Elena and Bonnie who turned their eyes to her. "You don't have to come with me at the mall if you don't want to, Bonnie." Caroline can see how obviously exhausted Bonnie looks.

Bonnie bit her lip. "…you don't mind? I know that you want my help but…" she trailed off as she lowered her eyes.

Caroline softens. "Hey, it's okay. I understand. You need a little bit more time. I get it." She placed her hand on her petite best friend's shoulder while displaying an understanding smile.

"Are you sure? I know how much this means to you and you did say you need help with the dress." Bonnie said, guilty yet relieved.

The blonde-haired beauty just shakes her head. "Don't worry about it. In fact, I have someone who will help me with it." She said with a slyly smile.

Kol raised his eyebrow questioning. "Huh? And who, may I ask, would that poor, poor soul be?" he mumbled, curious.

Later…

"Apparently, I'm the poor, poor soul." Kol muttered, resigned and exasperatedly. When Caroline went straight to her car, she asked if Kol was still there with her, to which he responded by poking her forehead. She asked him to help her pick out a dress and he knew he couldn't escape from this.

And here they are, Kol standing near Caroline who is twirling in front of the three-way mirrors outside of the dressing rooms. The wildest of the Originals stared longingly at the empty chairs that were placed outside the changing area. All he wants is to just sit and watch, but due to the fact nobody can see or hear him, he has to stand near his human to touch her; tap for yes or no tap for no.

"What do you think about this one?" Caroline whispered as she smooths the dress she is trying on. The one she is wearing was a white lace halter-dress with a beige skirt.

Kol examined her up and down with disinterest. "Nope. Not a good color for you, darling." He muttered.

"Another no?" Caroline sighed softly with a nod. She walked back to the dressing room to switch for another dress, making it number four.

Soon, the blonde-haired beauty walked out and stood front of the three-way mirrors once again. "This?" She studied her appearance with a thoughtful face. She is wearing a strapless wine-red dress with a deep v-neck. Kol shakes his head. "Not it." He didn't like how dull the dress looked on his human.

"This one is a no, again." The blonde-haired beauty returned to the dressing room to change for another. Few minutes later, Caroline walked out and Kol tilted his head slightly interested. She is wearing a strapless soft-green dress that fits her figure very well.

Caroline twirling around and a smile appeared on her face. "This one is nicer." She touches the smooth fabric of the dress. However, she didn't receive any cold touch, meaning Kol doesn't approve of it. "You don't like this dress, Kol?"

"No, darling. You look lovely but I believe you can look better than that dress. The color suits you but…" the Original trailed off as he examined her in a dress. He preferred her in blue since Caroline suits any shades of blue.

After two more rejected dresses, when Caroline walked out from the curtains to the three-way mirrors once again. "Okay, this is the last one. What do you think?" she asked, hopeful.

However, Kol was shocked to see her in this dress. He steps forward as his eyes darken with interest. "The dress looks perfect on you, sweetheart." He went closer to his human and gently touched her bare shoulders.

"Ah… so this is it?" Caroline mutters after a shiver that goes down her spine by the cold touch from Kol. She carefully studied the dress she is currently wearing. She is wearing an azure-blue strapless sweetheart dress that reaches the floor, slit from mid-thigh to her foot as it shows off her entire smooth left leg, a thin navy-blue belt wrapped around her waist. "Hmm…" she examined the dress one more time, twirling around once more and smilingly widely. "…okay. This is it, then." She accepted it and briefly wondered if Kol has a sister or a girlfriend since he has a good taste in dresses that fits her.

Soon, Caroline bought the dress and Kol is looking forward to seeing her in that dress again.

Founders Hall
Next Day…

Caroline is sitting on the cushion stool in her pink silk robe while carefully putting her make-up on as the other candidates are busy with their own beautification, make-ups and hairstyles. Kol is leaning against the wall near his human with his arms crossed while being slightly bored. His dark gaze observing the dressing room. "Honestly… this kind of event is more like Bex's taste." He muttered as he wondered about his sister for a moment.

The blonde-haired beauty brushes gently on her face with a blush brush and sees Elena from the reflection, she watches the brunette getting her hair curled by Jenna. Caroline silently watches them for a moment until Elena stood up and left while Jenna put the iron curl away. The blonde-haired beauty sighed softly as she focused on the mirror nervously and anxious. She really wants to win this event.

Kol noticed how tense and worried his human is. So, he pushed himself from the wall and stepped forward to her. "You'll be fine." He gently touches her flawless cheek.

Caroline closed her eyes and shivered. He watches with curiosity and slightly amused at how his touch seems to calm her down a bit. Kol couldn't help but feel rather smug and content at how his presence seems to relax her.

"Thank you, Kol." Caroline mumbled softly as she opened her blue-green eyes and smiled softly. Kol softens with a half-smirk. "Of course, sweetheart."

After Caroline finished touching on her make-up, she stood up and walked out of the room with Kol following behind her. Once she steps in the room that she'd been given to get dressed, which is empty as she assumed the other girls already finished.

She went to the wardrobe where she hung her dress and smiled at it when she grabbed it. She paused and narrowed her eyes around the empty room. "Whether you did see me naked or not, I would like you to leave or at least turn around." She warned Kol who was watching her amused.

"You're a bit too late for that, but I do enjoy the view of you in your underwear, love. It makes you rather stunning." Kol commented, wishing his human could hear his compliments.

"Kol." Caroline's voice gives out a stern which Kol rolls his eyes at playfully and pokes her forehead.

"Alright." Kol steps back while Caroline rubs her cold forehead. The Original turned his back dramatically and crossed his arms. "Okay, I'm trusting you." His undead heart skips a beat as he wonders when was the last time anyone trusted him?

After a few minutes, Caroline cleared her throat. "I'm ready." Kol turned around with a neutral face but froze stunned when he fully viewed her. He already saw her in the dress yesterday, but he never saw her in complete makeover in a dress he picked out. "So?" Caroline gave a twirl and glanced around, waiting for Kol to respond.

The wild Original walked close to her and gently touched her cheek with his feather-like touch, moving to her neck where she covered the bite scar with concealer, to her shoulder, to her arm, and to her hand. "Wow…" adorable red flushes appeared on her cheeks. "…I take it that you like it?" a shy smile lit up her beautiful face.

"Like it? Oh love, you look absolutely gorgeous on it." Kol whispered awed. He has seen many beautiful creatures through his centuries of life but compared to the women in his past, none even holds a candle of beauty like Caroline Forbes. "Oh how I wish I was the one to escort you, darling." He lifted both of his hands to lightly touch her red cheeks.

"Kol…" Caroline gasps by the cold touches as she doesn't know what to do nor what to say. Her stomach started to flutter a bit.

Then suddenly, the moment between them was interrupted by knocking. Mrs. Lockwood opened the door and stuck her head in. "Oh, good. You are ready and you look absolutely lovely dear." Caroline smiles with thankfulness. "Come along, the girls are lining up."

Kol steps back and follows his human out of the room. He noticed she gave one last glance at the empty room as his undead heart perked up with a bit of happiness. Kol has a feeling that Caroline wants to see him. But it was futile, unfortunately.

Caroline smiles at Elena who gave a half-smile as she seems to be distracted because the brunette kept glancing over the railing. Kol noticed Elena was wearing a royal-purple silk dress. "Not bad but my darling looks better." Kol ignores that he is completely biased to his human, he actually meant that Caroline is more beautiful than any of these girls.

Kol watches the candidates walk down the stairs one by one. He waited in boredom as he observed the escorts, the mayor and a crowd of people who were waiting for the rest of the girls from the first level of Founders Hall. Mayor Lockwood's voice spoke up from the mike in his hand. "Miss Tina Fell, escorted by Bartholomew Whitmore." Tina goes down the stairs with a polite yet charming smile while the crowds applauded.

Elena frowned with concern while Caroline took a breather as it was her turn soon. Mrs. Lockwood appeared from the room worried. "Has anyone seen Amber?" she asked Elena and Caroline. The girls shake their heads and Mrs. Lockwood just sighed with disappointment.

"Do you see Stefan down there?" the brunette asked, worried while she attempted to search for the young Salvatore. Kol cock his eyebrow at this and leaned over the rail from the balcony. "Huh… I wonder where that bloke went? It's a bit unusual for him not to be here." Kol muttered, curious. He knew that Stefan would never leave his girlfriend nor embarrass her like this since that young vampire boy is hopeless in love with the doppelgänger.

The blonde-haired beauty sauntered to the rail and looked over. "Nope, but I do see Matt. I am honestly a bit surprised since I thought he wouldn't be able to make it because of his job." Caroline said pleasantly.

Elena lifted her head to Caroline with interest. "…do you like Matt?" Kol narrowed his eyes at the brunette, suspiciously. "Because I don't mind if you date him."

"…no. I don't like him like that, Elena." Caroline knew that Elena is trying to set her and Matt up together, thanks to Matt who told her about it a while ago. "We are just friends." She emphasizes.

Elena just smiled. "Okay." She didn't believe Caroline's words.

"I really don't like you." Kol blunted to the brunette with an irked eyebrow.

The blonde-haired beauty just rolls her eyes. "Anyways, back to topic. What happened to Stefan?"

"I don't know. He just disappeared somewhere." Elena admitted anxiously while trying to catch any glimpse of her boyfriend when she jerkily shakes her head. "What am I doing? I never should have gone through with this." She mused out loud.

Caroline and Kol blinked at her with confusion. "What do you mean?" she leaned forward as her hands rested on the rail, peeking at her best friend's face.

"I need to find Stefan, this isn't me, I'm not this person anymore." Elena declared with determination, pushing herself away from the rail and starting to walk away.

"Then why go through this? Idiot." Kol scoffed.

"Uh, no, no, no way, no." Caroline stopped Elena who turned to her in surprise while Kol raised his eyebrow at her with confusion. "What are you doing? This is your chance to win if this doppelgänger drops out at the last minute." Kol said, pointing it out as if Caroline should let Elena leave. However, she didn't hear him as usual. "You had your chance to drop out and believe me I was all for it because there is no way that I could beat you—" —"Not true, love."— "—Elena, you're doing this because it was important to your mom."

The Original stared at his human with softened eyes. "Even if there's a chance that you won't win because of her, you are willing to take the risk. You are too kindhearted, darling." He muttered as he admired Caroline.

"Miss Caroline Forbes." Mayor Lockwood announced as Caroline turned her head over the rail while Mrs. Lockwood gestured the blonde-haired beauty to the stairs. "And her escort Matt Donovan." Kol decided to meet his human at the bottom of the stairs so he went ahead.

Kol made a face when he saw Matt, then he turned around and stared up at the stairs, waiting.

From above, Caroline glanced at Elena, sending her a courageous smile and slowly descending the stairs. A beautiful and yet soft smile appeared on her face once she revealed herself to the crowd who applauded. Kol is staring at her quietly and noted how gracefully and smoothly she is stepping down the stairs. "Truly beautiful…" Kol whispers softly.

The Original step aside when Caroline reached the bottom of the stairs and accepted Matt's hand. They exchanged friendly smiles and sauntered through the apart crowd that made space for them. Kol followed behind silently as they walked outside and took a spot.

Kol shoves his hands in his pockets as he steps backward to give enough room as they would start to dance soon.

Soon, Elena arrived with Damon and took their positions for the dance. Then the females start to curtsey as the males' bow to their respective partners.

The music starts. [All I Need by Within Temptation]

[I'm dying to catch my breath
Oh, why don't I ever learn?
I've lost all my trust
Though I've surely tried to turn it around]

Caroline and Matt placed their left hands close and started to turn around. Kol's dark gaze locked on his human with a half-smirk on his face.

[Can you still see the heart of me?
All my agony fades away
When you hold me in your embrace]

They switched their right hand close and turned in different directions in a smooth dance. The Original watches how happily Caroline looked while Matt just half-grinned at her.

[Don't tear me down for all I need~
Make my heart a better place~
Give me something I can believe~
Don't tear me down~
You've opened the door now, don't let it close~]

Then both hands closed themselves as they twirled around while staring at each other's eyes. Kol's smirks fell as he is starting to feel stupid because he is jealous. Because she is dancing with another bloke who isn't him. And nervous. He is nervous that he will lose his human to anyone. The Original gritted his teeth as his eyes lowered.

[I'm here on the edge again
I wish I could let it go
I know that I'm only one step away
From turning it around]

They start gathering in arms to waltz around the large dance floor. Kol closed his eyes as he took a breather for a moment then opened his eyes and quickly found his human who was dancing with Matt.

[Can you still see the heart of me?
All my agony fades away
When you hold me in your embrace.]

Kol watches them continue waltzing and for the first time ever since he became a ghost, he has no comment or smart remark to say about anything, his gaze locked on his human. Caroline and Matt twirled around in arms while exchanging smiles.

[Don't tear me down for all I need~
Make my heart a better place~
Give me something I can believe~]

And then they paused in different scattered spots, and broke from each other, stood face to face. They lifted their left palms as they were facing each other without touching and started to turn around.

[Don't tear it down, what's left of me
Make my heart a better place]

And then they switched with their right palms facing each other without touching once again and turned around in different directions.

[I tried many times but nothing was real
Make it fade away, don't break me down
I want to believe that this is for real
Save me from my fear
Don't tear me down]

Kol watched them lifted their both hands close as they twirled around while staring at each other's eyes. He snorted to himself as he shook his head. He knew that he fancies Caroline for a while now. However, watching her dancing with someone else, whether they are just friends or not, makes him feel upset, jealous, envious but mostly, hurt as to how he couldn't do the same.

Hell, he barely could touch or talk to her.

[Don't tear me down for all I need
Make my heart a better place
Don't tear me down for all I need
Make my heart a better place]

Then Caroline and Matt stepped away. The blonde-haired beauty curtsied, and Matt bowed. Kol chuckled humorlessly as he finally realized why he is feeling such bizarre things from his undead heart.

[Give me something I can believe
Don't tear it down, what's left of me
Make my heart a better place
Make my heart a better place]

Then the crowd applauded loudly after the music ended. Kol rubbed his mouth with a dark humorless glint in his eyes. He dropped his hand and sighed loudly while staring at a smiling Caroline. He knew that he fancies her…

But to think…

"I've fallen in love with her." Kol didn't know when he started to seriously fall for the blonde-haired beauty, but here he is. Awkward and reluctantly resigned, a human girl who is only seventeen-year-old caught the infamous Original, the prince of mayhem and destruction undead heart in her hands.

"I am fucked ain't I?"

.

.

.

Later…

The candidates were lined up on the stage, Caroline was glancing around with concern and confusion, while Kol was leaning on the wall across the room where he could clearly see his human. The blonde turned to Elena who was standing next to her. "Where's Amber?" she whispered.

Elena shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know." She whispered back.

The Mayor Lockwood made his way on the stage with a big smile to show off his white teeth. He faces the crowd with a clear throat. "Before I crown the winner, I'd like to offer a personal thank you to all these young ladies for their efforts to better our community." The audience gave a round of applause. "So, without further adieu, it is my honor to announce our very own Miss Mystic Falls, Miss Caroline Forbes!" he waved in a gesture to Caroline who gasped in pleasant surprise. The audience was cheering and clapping for the new Miss Mystic Falls happily and excitedly.

Kol allowed a small ghost of a smile to cross his face when he watched Caroline covered her laughing mouth with her hands. She turned to Elena who looked genuinely happy for her as they hugged each other. Caroline breaks the hug and steps forward. Then, Mayor Lockwood puts the banner of Miss Mystic Falls around her shoulder. Caroline's blue-green eyes are sparkling joyfully as her lips break into large, beautiful smiles. It was breathtaking to Kol to see her ecstatic figure.

The Original watches his human being congratulated by others countless times as Caroline was smiling brightly the whole time as she is thanking them. Soon, the photography came and took many, many photos of her and others.

Kol's dark eyes scanned around the people around in the Founders Hall for a while until his spine straightened up when he spotted an African-American man in suits who had been watching Caroline with a blank face. The ghost doesn't know why but he has an uncomfortable feeling about that man. He steps forwards to be near his human while eyeing the suspicious man warily.

After a moment, Caroline sauntered out of the house through the back door and breathed in the fresh air. Kol followed her closely while keeping his eyes out for anything dangerous or suspicious. Once Caroline stood in the middle of the empty courtyard, the sounds of chatter, laughter, and voices along with soft music dying from the distance, she whispered longingly. "Kol…are you there?" the Original turned his attention to her with curiosity as he pokes her forehead.

Caroline just beams. "…I actually won… I never thought I... I thought for sure Elena would…" she closed her eyes. "…this is the best day ever." She confessed enthusiastically.

"I'm happy for you, darling." Kol muttered with softened eyes as he took his time to memorize her stunning face. Caroline closed her eyes and enjoyed the gentle breezes from the air around her as some strays of her hair danced around her face, the moonlight shining upon her along with little outdoor lights, making her figure somehow glowing. The Original moved closer to her, extending his hand and lightly brushing her cheek with the back of his fingers.

The blonde-haired beauty shivered but continued to shut her eyes. Somehow, it's a quiet but comfortable atmosphere for a human girl and her ghost, just standing close to each other, knowing that they are not alone.

Mystic Falls
Woods
Later…

Harper ambled through the quiet cold woods in his suit as his hands were tucked in his pockets, his polished leather shoes snapping the twigs and dried leaves. His dark brown eyes shifted upward towards the moon in the clear night sky.

He found her.

The soldier vampire has finally found Emmanuella's descendant. He has carefully examined the blonde-haired human earlier and took his time to memorize it. "She has your smile, Emmanuella." He whispered while strolling through the woods. "A beautiful smile that brightens up the world around you. She has that." Harper added, longing, and fondly when he recalled his memories with Emmanuella.

He really missed her so much. His confidant, his partner in crime, his best friend and pseudo-sister. Now that he knows who Emmanuella's descendant is. Harper needs to deliver his promise to her, however, there is one problem. 'She doesn't seem to have knowledge of the supernatural world. I cannot inform her of the truth, at least not yet.' He mused, worried since he can't afford to fail his promise.

Harper has a feeling that he needs to prepare just in case if anything happens to him in the future.

Because no matter what…

Caroline Forbes needs to know the truth.
