Mystic Falls
Hospital
Patient's Room
Midnight…

Kol gritted his teeth hard as pure rage boiled deep inside of him, it was like lava moved around all his body. It churned within, hungry for destruction, the pressure of the raging sea of anger wanting him to express it to the world. To Katerina fucking Petrova who murdered Caroline, his human!

He desperately wanted to track that murderous bitch down, grab her skull and smash it into a wall until her brain matter became nothing more than the dirty below his feet.

He wants to feel the blood from her body bathe his own, he wants to feel it spill on the glorious smile he will have as The Original rips her dead cold heart out from the bitch chest and squeezes it until it bursts like a bubble.

Kol Mikaelson is furious and by all that is holy he swore to himself, he will find the vampire and torture her for a very, very long time. He briefly wondered how gleeful his brothers would be when they discover that now there are three Originals who wish to see Katerina Petrova as nothing more than ashes.

Right now, the ghost is forced to not let go of his anger because of his condition, but he also happens to remember that there is vampire blood running through his human veins, which means she will awake soon, in transition.

He waited impatiently by Caroline's side; he dared to hold onto hope as Caroline was not gone. He knew she would return to the living world—as a vampire no less—, but he also knew that she would be confused and lost since she is, technically, alone.

"Bloody hell…" Kol cursed, knowing that he won't be able to help her get through her transition.

Not only that, but she also has a twenty-four-hours limit. If Caroline Forbes doesn't drink human blood, she will die.

"No way in hell will I allow you to die on me." He is not letting this girl, the girl he has fallen in love with, die. Although he failed to save her of Katherine, he would save her from this. He couldn't help but silently mourn for her mortality. The way it was forcefully taken from her without any consent, he couldn't help but remember how it was also forcefully ripped from him, and with his humanity, a piece of his soul was also gone. His magic.

It seems that Katerina Petrova has bumped up to the must-kill list, even above Damon Salvatore. Kol never thought there will be enemies that he wants to focus on torture and murder more than his paranoic brother.

Then, as he was lost in thought, Caroline suddenly sat up with open eyes, startled. Her blue-green orbs darted around in fear and nervousness and seeing this Kol wanted to comfort her so badly.

"Hey, hey, hey. Darling… please, please calm down." He muttered, worried about his—well, no longer human.

The blonde-haired beauty rubbed her face and ran her fingers through her messy hair. She gulped dryly as she shakily reached for her throat in confusion.

"Wh—" her voice cracked, and her jaw shut as a red blush of embarrassment appeared in her cheeks, not liking that her voice came out as that terrible noise.

Kol stared at her fondly. "Only you would be embarrassed in your circumstances, love." He shakes his head as he reaches for Caroline's cheek and lightly touches it.

Caroline gasps as she jerks her head back. "Freezing!" she said, shockingly. Kol raises his eyebrow with interest.

"You are in transition darling, you are starting to feel more sensitive than a human." Kol mumbled.

The blonde-haired beauty blinked owlishly, tilting her head slightly. "…transition? Feel? Human?" she randomly said which Kol stared at her with confusion. The Original attempt to process what his blonde-haired beauty just said and once that sank in his head, Kol jerked back in surprise, curiosity, and hope.

"Can you hear me, love?" Kol asked while watching her reaction. "Please tell me that you could hear me."

Caroline snapped her head over to where Kol is facing her with a baffled frown. "Hear?"

Well damn.

It seems that during the transition, she could hear Kol's voice.

Kol stared at Caroline, stunned. He didn't expect that he would ever be heard by this amazing, brilliant, and gorgeous being. Kol swallows dryly while his dark gaze observes Caroline. "Can you hear me?" he asked, but nothing indicated she did. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, he could've sworn that she did hear him.

Caroline just shakes her head; she pushes the blanket away from her body and swings her legs over the bed. "Darling, I don't think you are getting out of the bed yet." Kol warned her in concern. Caroline froze.

"Who's there?" she whispered, fearfully scanning her surroundings.

The Original narrowed his eyes at her contemplative. He wondered if Caroline could only hear some words. And as he can't think of anything else, he decided to test it out. "Caroline. It's me. It's Kol. I'm right here, darling." Kol attempts to talk to Caroline but nothing indicates she heard him.

The blonde-haired beauty groaned as she dropped her face against her palm. "I'm going crazy…"

"No, no, no. You are not going crazy, darling. You are just confused and lost right now. But I'm here." Kol mumbled and Caroline lifted her head with a suspicious glint in her blue-green eyes.

"…I… I'm so confused." Caroline was starting to get anxious, she was scared.

Kol's undead heart sank when he watched how sad his blonde-haired beauty seemed. He reached to touch her cheeks with both of his hands. "It's okay. Everything's going to be alright, sweetheart. You are not alone. I'm here for you. Do you understand me? I'm here for you." Caroline gasps as she blinks a few times.

"Oh my God…" Caroline whispered, stunned. Her body was shuddering from the chill that came from her cheeks. And somehow… "Kol, is that you?" she asked, hopeful and surprised.

The ghost chuckled with disbelief as a half-smirk appeared on his face.

"Yes, love. It's me that you've been hearing." Kol said, awed. Not only can she feel his touch, but she is starting to hear his voice.

Caroline chuckled incredulity and amazed. "I—I can't believe I'm… I'm hearing you." She never thought that she would be able to possibly hear her ghost voice.

"Me neither, darling. But hey, I'm not complaining." Kol muttered.

The blonde-haired beauty frowned with thoughtfulness. "I… I can only get words from you, Kol. Just random words." She said, confused.

Kol hummed with contemplative. He wondered if it's because she is in the transition stage that she can only hear his random words. It is rather disappointing but better than not hearing him at all. He watched Caroline reach to her throat and rub it gently.

"I'm hungry." She said, baffled.

"Fuck." Kol just remembered that during the transition, Caroline will gain a few things such as a vampire's endless hunger. Not only that, soon she will gain her lost memories back when she was compelled. He wishes he could explain everything to her but, if Caroline could only hear words from him, then he needs to figure out how to help her.

Until he remembered. Lexi! "Darling… you need to call Lexi." Caroline glanced around until her blue-green eyes spotted a robe, so she reached for it. "Please call Lexi. I'm serious. You can't leave until you call Lexi."

Caroline paused. "Call?" Kol touches her hand with the hope that she had heard him. Caroline shivers a little, rubbing her hand for warmth. "You want me to call someone? Who?"

"Lexi." Kol answered but Caroline sat there, waiting. Kol groaned and decided to repeat it until she caught his word. "Lexi. Lexi. Lexi. Lexi. Lexi. Lexi. Lexi. Lexi." He stopped when Caroline's spine straightened up.

"You want me to call Lexi?" another cold touch on her cheek. "I don't know why you want me to call her but okay." Caroline trusted Kol, and if he said she should call Lexi, the blonde would listen to the Ghost.

She scanned around the room, looking for her phone until she remembered it. "I don't have my phone with me. Mom was supposed to bring me a bag of clothes and a charger. I will have them in the morning." Caroline informed Kol nervously, the itching in her throat starting to hurt.

"Well, guess you will have to wait until morning, love." Unfortunately, Caroline misunderstood him as she stood on her feet and pulled the robe on.

"I can call Lexi from the phone at the reception. I'm sure the nurse will let me borrow the phone." Caroline said and Kol groaned. He doesn't want her to leave, he wants her to stay in bed and wait until morning so she doesn't accidentally kill someone. Kol knew more than most what the hunger could do to you.

Kol sighed, he has a feeling that there will be a lot of miscommunication between them from now on. Nonetheless, Kol followed Caroline out of the room, the blonde-haired beauty glancing around the dark hall.

"Excuse me?" She steps forward to the reception desk where a nurse was working behind the desk.

"Yes?" the nurse paused as she glanced up from the paperwork with a polite smile.

Caroline cleared her throat. "May I borrow the phone?" she asked, almost shy.

The nurse hummed. "I'm sorry, honey. But it's in the middle of the night." Caroline was disappointed while Kol tutted.

"Come on, sweetheart. You should come to bed and sleep. You'll call Lexi in the morning." Kol muttered, wanting his blonde-haired beauty to return to the room and back to bed.

The blonde-haired beauty cleared her throat once again then her hunger won over. "I'm sorry… can I just get something to eat?" she asked hopefully.

"Breakfast comes around seven." The nurse informed the blonde-haired beauty disinterested while gathering folders from the desk.

Caroline frowned. "But I'm hungry." She whined while Kol glanced at her sympathy and understanding.

The nurse stood up while pulling the stacks of folders to her chest. "You should go back to sleep." She said, trying to stay polite but failing a little.

Kol made a face at the nurse. "What a rude bitchy minger." He grumbled, not liking the nurse's vulgar attitude toward his blonde-haired beauty.

Caroline's lip twitched slightly as she turned around and sauntered to the door where she was staying. She paused when she sniffed the air with curiosity, turning her head to the nurse who is leaving. "What is that smell?"

"Back to bed." The nurse said with a stern look, leaving Caroline alone, and Kol unusually pissed. However, Caroline stayed in the hallway, sniffing a couple of times more.

The Original eyed her with confusion until he remembered. They were in a fucking hospital, meaning there were glorious amounts of blood. More than enough to make a newly turned vampire go crazy.

"Oh…" Kol muttered, unsure if it's safe for Caroline to be here while she is in transition. No, fuck that, he is unsure if anyone was safe while she was in transition, he knew more than most what it could do to someone.

Kol noticed how hazy Caroline looks. Her eyes are cloudy as she slowly steps forward while sniffing once more. The Original carefully watched her moving across the room and noted a blood bag in a patient's room, where it was hung up in the hook. The blonde-haired beauty sauntered closer and closer to the blood bag in a daze. Soon, Caroline reaches the blood bag, unhooks it, and stares at it like Gollum at the ring.

"What are you doing here?" Caroline whirled around in surprise, blinking a few times as she was taken back from her daze.

The blonde-haired beauty shakes her head. "I—I don't know." She muttered in confusion.

The nurse frowned deeply, angry and a little scared. "You need to go back to bed." She strictly ordered Caroline, Kol glaring daggers at the bitchy nurse. Ironic, no?

The nurse takes Caroline across the hospital where her temporary room was. When Caroline walked inside, she immediately climbed on the bed and sat down while staring at the nurse who shakes her head in disapproval. Kol flipped the bird off at the nurse as she shut the door. The ghost then turned his attention to Caroline who slowly let go of the robe and stared at the blood bag that she snatched and hid from the nurse.

"Well… I didn't know you could steal so well, darling." Kol said with amused yet understanding. He walks to her side and watches his blonde-haired beauty. At least he didn't have to worry about her possible death in the twenty-four-hours limit.

Caroline licks her dry lips hesitantly. She glanced at the corner of her eyes although there wasn't anyone except her and her ghost friend. "Is… is there something wrong with me, Kol?" she whispered, confused and scared as she wondered why seeing blood makes her mouth drool so much.

Kol's eyes soften. "No." he gently brushes her cheek which she shivers. Caroline closed her eyes and sighed softly. Then she opened her eyes and grabbed the tube. Slowly the blood bag straw-like touch between her lips. He watches her take sips from the blood bag timidly.

Suddenly, Caroline lowered the blood bag and gags, her brain saying to her it wasn't right but her body craved for more.

Kol grimaced. "I know it's disgusting to humans, but your body will start to adjust for the taste." The immortal muttered while watching Caroline throw the blood bag on the floor away from her while coughing out. Caroline groaned while shuddering with disgust.

"Ugh…" the blonde-haired beauty pulled her hair back away from her face. Caroline closes her eyes, taking a breath, her shoulders starting to relax. Kol watched as she glanced over at the ground where the blood bag was, blood slowly pouring in the marble floor. The blonde-haired beauty stares at it with a glint of hunger in her blue-green eyes, the scent of the blood hitting her.

Caroline climbed down from the bed, lowering herself on the ground, picking the bag up. She stared at it for a short moment while Kol reached to her side, bending down, and gently touched her hands. "Go on, love." Kol insisted on her. And so she did.

The straw reached her lips as she gulped down the blood in her throat. "That's it. Good. Good girl. Drink it all." Kol said, watching her gleefully drink it all in one go as her eyes closed with pleasure. He watches her in amusement, relief, and admiration at how Caroline is happily drinking the blood. Like she was meant for it.

Her transition was completed.

After Caroline drained all the blood from the bag, she threw it in the trash and washed the blood from her face in the sink. Kol watches her as she is cleaning herself up slowly with dazed eyes. Soon, the blonde-haired beauty sauntered back to the bed, climbing under the blanket and placing her head on the pillow. "Close your eyes, love. Sleep." Kol gently brushes his finger against his newly turned vampire's cheek.

Caroline shivered as she cuddled against the pillow while pulling the cover-up to her chin. "Kol…" she mumbled then fluttered her eyes shut into nothingness.

Kol sighed with a mixture of stress and upset. He needs to return to his body because he can't stand being so useless to Caroline.

His gaze was fixed on the blonde-haired beauty, noticing how deep furrowed her eyebrows are and shifting movement behind her eyelids. Kol knew right there and now that Caroline's memories were returning to her.

The Original decided to sit on the edge of the hospital bed near Caroline's feet. He wanted to stay close to her, to be there for her.

At least now she could somewhat hear him.

.

.

Morning…

Kol waited patiently for his vampire to wake up. He is glad that the curtains were closed for most of the time as he doesn't want Caroline to be burned by the sunlight. He wondered how the hospital would explain the fact that they have a barbequed vampire.

The Original also wondered how his vampire would react when she wakes up for her new life. A world that will be dramatically different for her. Be it the enhanced senses, heightened emotions, or the hunger for blood. The life of Caroline Forbes would never be the same.

A soft groan snapped him out of his thoughts. Kol turned his head to Caroline, watching her eyes slowly open to reveal her blue-green orbs. Caroline flinched, her senses screaming as she lifted her hands to her temples, rubbing them. "It's going to be a very different experience now that you are no longer human, darling." Kol muttered as he reached to gently feather-like touches her arm.

"Kol…" she blinked a few times as she shifted around and leaned against the pillows with a deep frown. "…I remember." She whispered with a troubled voice. "I—I remember."

Her eyes started to fill as tears threatened to fall. "He… that… Damon, he abused me, he bit me." She shakily reached to her neck where the bite scar was clearly shown. Kol's eyes darkened with upset and rage when he saw the scars on her skin. "That asshole—" she choked as she blinked, attempting to control her tears but to no avail. "—He used me. He lied to me. He hurt me." She closed her eyes, sobs starting to get out.

"Oh, no, no love. Please don't cry. Don't waste your tears for that tosser. It's not worth it." Kol whispered as he leaned forward to place his hands on his vampire's cheeks who shivered from his freezing touch, but she didn't move her face. Instead, she stays, feeling the cold touch become strangely comforting. Kol stared at the tears that rolled down her round cheeks. He leaned in, pressing his forehead against hers.

Caroline released a shuddering sigh, feeling the cold from her forehead adding with the ones on her cheeks. But she didn't care. She needed comfort and the only one who always stayed by her side was her ghost.

Caroline wasn't alone as long as she had Kol with her.

Kol wished he could wipe the tears away for her but at least he could do this, to inform her that he is here for her. "I'm here for you, darling. Always and Forever." He promised and he intended to keep this promise.

After a moment, Caroline cleared her throat as she leaned back, blinking her eyes open. Kol reluctantly and slowly dropped his hands from her face. He watched as the blonde wiped her tears away from her cheeks, sniffing a couple of times.

Then the door opened to reveal Sheriff Forbes who was carrying Caroline's bag of clothes and a tray with hospital food in her other hand.

"Hey…" She greeted her daughter warmly, relieved to see her daughter fine and alive.

"Mom…" Caroline mumbled, surprised to see her mother this early morning. Sheriff Forbes set the bag down at an empty chair and placed the tray on the slide table.

"I got you breakfast." Kol made a disgusted face when he saw the food. "That questionable thing is food?" he muttered incredulously. There's no way this was actual food. Caroline's mother pushed the slide table to her daughter who stared at the plate with a disgusted face. Her nose wrinkling while Kol eyed this white stuff suspiciously.

Caroline cleared her throat. "I'm not hungry." She said with a shaking head.

"I don't blame you, love. That white stuff is suspicious that I think it might be poison." Kol was tempted to poke it, which he easily gave in and tried to but failed as usual.

He glanced at his vampire who had a slightly amused glint in her eyes. Kol smirked, content that his vampire is at least in a better mood.

Sheriff Forbes sighed as she placed her hands on her hips. Before she could open her mouth, her phone alerted her. She fumbled her phone out and answered. "Yes?"

Caroline rolled her eyes with annoyance, used to this type of routine while Kol frowned. He knew this routine as well, the pattern clear. "I see… okay. I'll be there." She hangs up and glances at her blanked face daughter. "I'm sorry. I'm needed at the station."

"That's fine." Caroline half-shrugged and pushed the tray away from her. "Please take this when you go." She leaned back on the bed and stared at the wall ahead of her, the furthest away from her mother possible at the moment.

Sheriff Forbes was hesitant, clear to his daughter's anger, but finally ended up taking the tray, leaving her daughter alone in the room. Caroline scoffed. "Is your job worth more than your daughter?"

"Oh, darling…" Kol whispered with sympathy as he gently touched her hand.

Caroline closed her eyes, silently accepting the cold touch from her ghost friend.

Later…

Kol raised an eyebrow at Caroline who was staring at the small ray of light trickling from the window. The Original has been watching her for a while since she has been mostly staying quiet for the rest of the morning. "Darling…" he warned her when he noticed when Caroline lifted her hand, slowly reaching for the sunlight. "Don't even think about it, love." Kol attempted to touch her hand, to try and signalize to his vampire that he knew what she was thinking of doing, but it was too late as the light touched her hand.

The sound of sizzles was heard, Caroline retreats her hand fast and Kol eyed at her warily. Then she huffed and went for it as she shoves her hand boldly in the sunlight.

Kol stared at her with a dropped jaw for such stupidity as Caroline's hand started to literally burn as sizzles were heard and smoke started to come from her burning hand. "Ouch!" Caroline winces as she withdraws her hand the fastest possible. She rubbed her burned hand, not falling to notice that it was healing at an incredible pace, right before her eyes. "What the…" she mumbled with confusion while staring at her healed hand in disbelief.

Kol sighed heavily. "You need to call Lexi. She can help you." he mumbled, running a hand through his messy hair. Caroline is making him feel really stressed right now.

"Lexi…" Caroline whispered. "You mention that last night too. You think I should call her?"

"For the love of God, yes!" Kol tapped her cheek, Caroline humming in confusion but nods her head nevertheless. Her blue-green orbs scanned around the room until she saw her bag of clothes on the chair, a little far away from her bed. But before she could move towards it, Matt arrived, suddenly opening the door. "Knock, knock." He called out with a grin on his face.

Caroline blinked in surprise. "Oh, hey Matt." She greeted her friend while Kol grumbled in annoyance, watching the Quarterback walk in with a tray of food.

"Your mom told me that you didn't eat this morning. So I brought you lunch." Matt offered the food and set the tray on the slide table. Kol made a disgusted face when he saw the suspicious strange ugly brown liquids bowl. "What the fuck is that? Seriously, that looks like shit mixed with barf into a soup." Kol commented, sickened.

The blonde-haired beauty snorted, slightly amused at Kol antics, a smug grin on her face that Matt raised an eyebrow to, confused. "What is it?"

Caroline just shakes her head. "The hospital food is gross." She said ominously while eyeing the food.

"It's hospital food. It's supposed to be gross." Matt chuckled while the blonde-haired beauty huffed playfully.

Kol tilted his head, baffled. "Wait, that's a thing for hospitals? What's wrong with humans these days?" he muttered in bewilderment.

Matt cleared his throat. "She also said you're getting released tomorrow morning."

Caroline and Kol snapped at Matt with surprise. "Morning?" Matt nodded, noticing how the blonde eyes glanced at the sunlight. "I need to get out tonight."

"Second that." Kol sure as hell doesn't want his vampire to leave in the sunlight and die from it. Because fuck that, not on his watch.

Matt shakes his head with a knowing grin. "I know you worked hard for it, but the carnival is going to happen and your only worry should be to rest, and eat." Kol rolls his eyes at the wrong assumption while Caroline starts to get worried. "I know it's hard for your neurotic control freak personality to process, but Bonnie and Elena have it." He assures her.

"I'm not neurotic." Caroline snapped back with offense as she glares at her friend.

The Original scrunched up his face as he held up his hand and waved side to side. "Well, actually you kind of are, love." Kol commented, amused when he noticed Caroline starts to send glares somewhere in his direction.

The Quarterback chuckled. "Yeah you are, but it's part of your charm." He said, sincerely.

"Look, it's not about the carnival, okay?" the blonde-haired beauty admitted. "It's just that this place is really depressing." She lied.

Matt glanced over the curtains. "It's because you're sitting in the dark." He replied, moving to open the curtains.

Caroline protested while Kol snapped. "Don't!"

The curtains were drawn open, illuminating the room while Kol watched as his vampire super-speed to the wall, pressing herself against it, the furthest possible from the sunlight. "Well, damn." Kol was impressed by how fast his vampire reacted.

Matt turned around and blinked in confusion. "What the hell?" he frowned, perplexed. "What's wrong with you?"

"Please… close it." Caroline said with pleading eyes.

The Quarterback just stared at her, confused and worried by his friend. Kol was anxious, torn between trying to shut the curtain so there isn't any risk for his vampire, or going to comfort her. "Just close the damn curtains, you bloody git!" Kol snapped frustratedly and suddenly, the curtains shut themselves as the hospital room went back to dark.

Matt flinched as he steps back away from the curtain with suspicion. "Wha—what the hell?" he blinked in disbelief. "Did… did you see that?" he asked Caroline, stunned.

Caroline stared at the curtains with relief yet curiosity while Kol only raises an eyebrow, a sly smirk on his face. He managed to use whatever ghost shit he had again.

"I… I think you should leave, Matt." She whispered as she shifted her gaze from the curtains to her friend. "I'll see you later, okay?"

The Quarterback just blinked at her and then slowly nodded his head. "…uh… okay." he muttered, still confused and astonished, but did as she asked and left the room. He gave her one last nod, shutting the door as he leaves.

The blonde-haired beauty sighed loudly as she lowered herself to the ground. "Kol…" the Original didn't hesitate to rush to her side. He bent down and gently touched his vampire's cheeks. Caroline sighed loudly as her body shivered slightly. "…that was you, wasn't it?" she asked her ghost friend in curiosity.

"Yes, love." Kol whispered softly, glad that he at least could protect his vampire from this.

The Original tapped her hand and Caroline sighed in relief, yet a grateful smile appeared on her face. "Thank you." She whispered.

After a short moment of silence, Caroline opened her mouth. "You… I heard some words from you… and I caught something else." Kol raises his eyebrow with questioning. "You… you have an accent."

"Ah, you caught that?" Kol smirks when he noticed a slight red flush on her cheeks. "You have a thing for accents, darling? Now that is interesting." He can't wait to see how she will react when he changes his accent to his thicker and natural one. It would be interesting to see his vampire's reaction to that. But for now, he will hold on to it since Caroline can only hear random words from him.

Caroline cleared her throat. "It's… nice." She admitted, a small smile on her face, she likes the accent of her ghost. Kol wiggly his eyebrows at her with a sly smirk. He wished she could see him, but he will have to wait for a little more time.

His brother will sooner or later release him, be it for boredom or for any sadist plan he most probably has.

Now that Caroline Forbes is a vampire, which means he doesn't have to worry about her growing old, he could wait an eternity for Caroline Forbes and it would be worth it. She now has forever… as long as she gets that daylight ring.

Soon, Caroline pushed herself from the ground with a determined face. "I need to get out of here tonight." She decided and Kol approved her idea. He steps back and watches as Caroline grabbed her bags and stands in front of the mirror. The blonde began putting her earrings back in while taking a silver heart-shaped necklace from her purse and clasping it shut around her neck.

"Wait!" Kol protested but the necklace had already started to burn through Caroline's skin who immediately snapped the necklace off and threw it away from her in shock, touching the skin kin where the necklace burnt her. "…that's a vervain necklace. They burn our kind. Wear that ring, it won't burn your skin at least." Kol muttered.

The blonde-haired beauty tilted her head in confusion. "What's vervain? What do you mean by burn skin?" her blue-green eyes darts down at the mood ring that was gifted from Lexi. "…I hope you are not telling me that I can't wear the ring either." Caroline mumbled in hope and slightly worry. She picked up the mood ring and slipped it on, her shoulders slumped with relief when it didn't burn her.

Kol raises his eyebrow at her. If he didn't know any better, he would assume that Caroline favors the ring over the necklace that Elena gave her. Then again, he recalled how quickly close friend his vampire is with Lexi.

"That's pretty." A voice speaks up as Caroline noticed the nurse who already picked up the necklace from the ground when she walked into the room while Kol glared daggers at the bitchy nurse.

Caroline stared at the reflection of the nurse. "Yeah…" she agreed that the necklace is beautiful. "My friend gave it to me." She explained, politely.

The nurse hummed and set the necklace on the bed and walked out.

The blonde-haired beauty sighed, lowered the collar, and grimaced when she saw the burnt mark on her skin.

"You need more blood in your system, sweetheart." Kol informed his vampire gently.

Caroline made a face. "I drank it all in case you didn't notice." She dryly said as she glanced over the trashcan where she threw the empty blood bag. Kol smirks at her with amused by her sarcastic answer.

Then the blonde-haired beauty noticed something strange on her face. She leaned closer as the black veins popping out around her eyes. Caroline shakily touches her face in horror and Kol knew that she was freaking out. "Darling—" but he halted when he watches Caroline cover her mouth with muffled cries of agony, not wanting to alert anyone.

Kol never met any newly turned vampires that would try to control themselves. However, he also hadn't met anyone like Caroline Forbes before. He watched as the blonde lowered her mouth to reveal her fangs, to which he inwardly thought that she looks beautiful, the desire to see her true face growing. He bet his vampire would look gorgeous.

However, Caroline briefly cries out loud but instantly covered her mouth, her eyes clasping shut. "Hey, hey… it's ok—" Kol was interrupted when the bitchy nurse spoke up, concern clear on her voice.

"What's wrong?"

Caroline whirled around and before Kol knew, the blonde vamp-speed to the nurse, grabbing the nurse while pushing the woman against the wall with her super-strength. "You can't tell anyone." The nurse attempt to struggles against her.

"Calm down, darling." Kol doesn't want Caroline to mess up and informs this little town humans about the vampires.

The blonde-haired beauty snapped. "You can't tell anyone!" Caroline stared at the scared nurse as she accidentally compels the woman.

The nurse relaxes. "I can't tell anyone."

"Well, bloody hell." The Original couldn't help but stare at his vampire and the compelled nurse in astonishment.

Caroline paused, looking warily at the nurse. "You'll do what I say?"

"I'll do what you say." The nurse obeyed robotically as she dropped her hands to her sides.

"Good…" the blonde-haired beauty nods her head with satisfied then fangs emerged. "Because I'm starving." Then she lurched at the nurse's neck, biting her jugular while greedily drinking the nurse's blood.

The Original whistles, impressed and awed by his vampire. He knew Caroline was smart but to think she is that smart. Plus, he enjoys watching his vampire acting on her instinct, and he had to admit to himself, it was hot.

.

.

.

Later…

"I didn't think this is possible, but you just got sexier." Kol commented, amazed by the vampire he has fallen for. His dark gaze was on Caroline who is currently busying leaving a voicemail to her mother while the compelled nurse was just sitting on the bed, quietly.

Caroline was already dressed as she began pacing back and forth while leaving the voicemail message on her phone. "—said I'm good as new. He signed me out. He said that I didn't have to wait 'til morning, so call me when you get this." She informed the lies to her mother and then hang up.

The blonde-haired beauty glanced over at the windows and sighed with relief. "It's dark, thank god." She threw her phone in her bag. She walked around to examine the nurse's wound. She made a winced face while Kol leaned against the wall with his arms crossed with interest. "I'm so sorry about that." Caroline said with, guilty while gently touching the bandage that she put on for the nurse.

"You are too kind for that bitchy nurse, darling." Kol snorted, indifferent. He doesn't care if his vampire drains the bitch to death. In fact, he would be cheering for Caroline.

"Kol. Something tells me that you don't like this nurse, and I get that she can be a bitch but that doesn't mean I will leave her like this and do nothing." Caroline said with a stern tone. Kol huffed and slightly startled, he was so used to be ignored by everyone around him that he needed to remind himself that his vampire can (somewhat) hear him from now on. The blonde-haired beauty cleared her throat and stared at the nurse's eyes. "Now, what's the story?"

The nurse obeyed. "My husband likes to get kinky." Kol snorted with amusement while Caroline nods her head in approval.

"Yes, good." She smiles with pleased then stood up, walking around to gather her things into her bag. "Okay, so I'm gonna take off." The nurse turns her head to Caroline blankly. "I'm the committee chair for the carnival and I'm worried it's a complete disaster. I mean, god bless Elena—" Kol rolls his eyes rudely when doppelganger was mentioned.
