Forbes' Residence
Caroline's Bedroom
Morning…

The blonde-haired beauty is currently explaining in a cold tone what occurred last night while fixies her hair as she stood in front of the mirror. Kol is glaring at the soon-to-be-dead vampire hatefully with a heavy scowl on his face. "—Sarah attacked Tyler and he pushed her away. She tripped and fell. Hit her head and died." Caroline brushes the bangs away from her eyes.

The older Salvatore is leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed. "Does Matt remember anything?" he asked, curious.

"He thinks he blacked out." Caroline answered, coldly while she double-checked her appearance from the reflection. "But I believe they were both compelled by Katherine." "You got that right, darling." "That's why I covered for Tyler and said it was an accident."

Caroline went to her bed and put her small make-up bag into her large bag. Damon hummed thoughtfully while the blonde-haired beauty went to her closet to grab her boots. "Yeah, I don't understand that. The guy is a tool."

"Tyler getting blamed for Sarah's death just opens up questions that he can't answer." Caroline slipped her foot into her boot. "Do you really think that it's a good idea for him to tell his mom he's a werewolf?" she snipped at Damon rudely without caring while she slipped another boot on.

Damon just smirks mockingly. "Well, no."

"Thought it would be wise to think fast on my feet." The blonde-haired beauty said, then turn her attention to the hook where her scarves are gathered. She picked one of them and went to the mirror.

The older Salvatore tilted his head, curious. "Where's your mom?"

"Leading the search party for Amy Bradley." Caroline answered dryly as she wrapped her scarf around her neck and loose them. "They haven't found her body yet."

Damon tutted. "Oh, teens today and their underage drinking. Tragic." Caroline rolled her eyes while Kol playing the idea of what he can do to torture the Salva-whore with just a simple pencil. "Wait, did you see Tyler's eyes turn yellow?"

Caroline stride to her bed and double-check her bag before she leaves for school. "They were more gold with amber highlights." She explained. "If I recalled it correctly, he could only turn on a full moon." She mumbled to herself. Lexi and Lee did explain to her about the short history of werewolves. The blonde-haired beauty picked up her cell phone and decided to text Lexi.

Kol watches Damon who is talking but obviously been ignored by his vampire. A satisfied grinned on his face. The dark-haired vampire glanced at Caroline with an exasperated frown. "Hey!"

"What?" Caroline snapped at him as she placed her cell in her pocket, picked up her bag to swing her strap over her shoulder, and grabbed her car key from her bed.

Damon huffed and repeated. "I said, what did you tell him?"

"Nothing, really." The blonde-haired beauty shrugged her shoulders and sauntered her way out of the bedroom while Damon steps back away for her to walk down the corridor.

Kol eyeing the soon-to-be-dead vampire with a disgusted face and followed his vampire that leads to the first floor.

Before Caroline touch the doorknob, she was grabbed by the collar from Damon's hand. Kol hisses angrily at the bastard who dares touch his darling. "Hands off arsehole!"

"You better not try to befriend that kid." Damon stared at Caroline's cold eyes as he leaned close to her. "A bite from a werewolf can kill a vampire so don't get close to him. Do you understand me?"

The blonde-haired beauty's blue-green eyes shifted to crimson-red with fury. "You don't get to control me nor demand me!" she uses her vamp-strength to jerk his hands off of her. Damon steps back with his hands in the air cautiously. "You are so lucky I'm even allowing you to be in this house." She said with hostility. "I'm not an idiot and I'm aware that werewolf is off-limit." The crimson-red color fades to her original blue-green orbs. "Now, if you excuse me. I need to leave before I'm late for school."

She purposely bumped Damon's shoulder when she strides to the front door, opens it wide, and paused the doorway. "I would appreciate it if you tried not to come over to my house again." She gave him her faux-charming smile then leave.

Kol was so proud of Caroline. He smirks widely with smugness at speechless Salva-whore. "Never mess with my girl, tosser." He muttered, gleefully as he quickly followed her.

Mystic Falls
High School
Later…

It was an ordinary day for Caroline in her school life even though she tried not to react whenever her ghost friend attempt to communicate with her. As much as Caroline wants to talk with Kol, she is a bit occupied with her lessons and assignments. Plus, there are people around her, so she doesn't want to be label as a freak for talking to the air.

She is a bit grateful that she doesn't have any cheerleader practice for a while since it's not the season. The blonde-haired beauty stride across the courtyard while exchanges smiles and friendly waves to her peers who knew of her thanks to her role as the Captain of the Cheerleader squad, the Head of the Committee, and Miss Mystic Falls.

Once she saw her car, her heart skips a beat when she thought of having her daily "chat" with her ghost friend. An excited smile appeared on her face as she shifted her bag to search for her car key. Maybe she could go visit the flower shop and buy some for Sarah's locker? It's at least she could do for the poor girl.

"Caroline." She halted as Kol narrowed his eyes at Tyler cautiously. The blonde-haired beauty's lips closed her lips firmly in line. She has been avoiding Tyler for the entire day since she doesn't want to deal with him. She knew, according to Lexi's information, is that werewolf has short temper and very easily anger if she isn't careful.

Caroline lifted her head from the bag that she is trying to find her key. A faux-smile at Tyler who stared at her blankly. "Hey!" she greeted the werewolf happily, pretending that she wasn't avoiding him at all. "How are you doing?" Kol snorted indifferently. "Why do you care about that?" Caroline wants to hit him but just remains smile at Tyler.

"Not good." Tyler answered with a frown.

The blonde-haired beauty hummed softly with slight understanding. "How's your mom? My mom said that she was pretty freaked out about everything that happened with Sarah." She said, concerned for Mrs. Lockwood.

"How did you know?" the werewolf asked instead while staring at her rather intensely.

Caroline raises her eyebrow, puzzling. "What do you mean?" Kol crossed his arms with a heavy sighed. He wants the werewolf kid to go away so he can spend his time with his darling in the car. It is the only way she is willing to communicate with him.

"About me. How did you know?" Tyler carefully examined her warily and confused.

The blonde-haired beauty and the transparent Original knew what Tyler meant. However, Caroline just tilted her head with a faux-puzzled smile. "Know what? That you were upset? I thought I was doing a good thing by covering for you."

"That's not what I am talking about." The Lockwood werewolf rebuked.

Caroline sighs softly. "Look, it was an accident, okay? And I've got to run just… please don't blame yourself." She smiles weakly at him then walks past him, however, Tyler grabbed her elbow which made Kol rigid as he does not like anyone who touches his vampire. "Hands off you little knob!"

Much to Kol's relief and amusement when Caroline instantly grabbed Tyler's arm and twisted it around. The werewolf's eyes nearly bulged in shock and glanced up at her. The blonde-haired beauty pulled him down and throws him on the pavement. Tyler slowly stood onto his feet incredulity while rubbing his painful arm.

"That was bloody brilliant, darling!" the Original gleefully praised his vampire.

A small twitch of Caroline's lip when she heard her ghost friend's words. She adjusted the strap of her bag onto her shoulder properly while the werewolf shakes his head with suspicion and wonder. "How did you—" he glanced around to make sure none of the bystanders notice them. "—you're stronger than me?"

Kol raises his eyebrow at the werewolf. "Vampires are made to be stronger and better than werewolf kid like you. My darling is superior to your kind." He snorted, rather haughtily then frowned. "As long as your little stupid fangs don't touch her." Kol muttered the last part to himself.

"Please…" Caroline just her head with a discomfit smile. "…that was nothing."

"Nothing? Oh, darling… that was hot." Kol commented shamelessly. He watches at his vampire's lip twitch and a playful grin appeared on his face, knowing that she has heard something from him.

Tyler steps closer to her. "Listen, if you know something you've got to tell me because I don't understand what is happening to me. I can't handle this alone." He begged as he needs information.

Caroline gripped her strap tightly. She can't put herself in danger since she knew that one bite from the Lockwood werewolf is death to her. "I'm sorry, Tyler. But I think that you're still in shock over Sarah's death. And it's understandable."

Kol watches the werewolf warily when he noticed how angry Tyler's face was clearly shown. Tyler glares at Caroline with a mixture of frustration and upset. Then he turned around sharply, walk away until he kicked the outdoor garbage—

Unaware of his werewolf strength that the garbage flies into the car and sets the car alarm. All heads turned to him in astonished disbelieved and perplexed. Tyler stared at the dented garbage and the alarm car. Slowly he glanced at Caroline whose tense as her guard is up. While Kol growls rumbling from his chest while stood close to his vampire protectively.

Fortunately, or unfortunately for Kol, Tyler turned away and leaves.

Caroline's stiff shoulders slowly relax, and she sighed. "That was so intense." She muttered, feeling a bit emotionally tired.

Forbes Residence
Later…

Kol followed his vampire inside the house with an amusing and playful grin on his face. Caroline giggled softly to herself ever since she asked her ghost friend a bunch of silly questions during the car ride. She even took extra ten minutes to spend a bit more time with him.

Caroline gently shut the door behind her and walk a step. Her smile slowly fades when she felt something odd in her house. Kol raised his eyebrow at his vampire with curiosity. "Mom?" Caroline called out with furrowed eyebrows, cautiously walks farther into the house.

She removes her bag to placed it on the wooden chest's lid and set her key down. Caroline carefully scanned her surroundings while Kol's dark eyes darken with anger when he saw Tyler. "What the fuck you are doing here you bloody prat?!" he snarled.

Caroline whirled around and saw Tyler staring at her blankly. "What are you doing here?" she asked, bewildered.

"I know." Tyler answered, stated as if it's a fact.

The blonde-haired beauty glares at him with disbelief. "Breaking and entering the Sheriff's house? That move will win you an award."

Tyler scoffed with a false smirk on his face. "Go ahead. Keep dodging." He starts parade slowly around Caroline. "Keep changing the subject but I know." Kol slapped the little shit of a werewolf but, alas, it was useless much to his frustration and disappointment. When the Lockwood kid leaned over Caroline's shoulder. "You're just like me, aren't you?"

"No." Caroline denied strongly.

The werewolf scoffed skeptically. "Keep it up but I'm not buying it." He stopped in front of the blonde-haired beauty. "I saw how strong you were. I'm not leaving here until you tell me the truth."

"Tyler—"

The Lockwood werewolf interjected. "You're a werewolf. Say it." He declared with confidence.

Caroline and Kol stared at him blankly for a moment. The transparent Original blinks few times, processing the words in his mind until he shifted his gaze to Caroline. "He's a git. Completely wanker, love."

An uncontrollable chuckle released from her lips as she quickly attempts to cover her laughing face. Kol perked up when he saw how beautiful she looks when she laughs. He enjoys seeing her eyes brighten up with amusement. "What?" Caroline didn't expect such declare from Tyler. But it was admittedly funny to her.

However, Tyler didn't find it hilarious and decided to attacked Caroline by pushing her against the wall. Kol growled crossly when he saw how rough the idiot werewolf doing to his vampire. "Stop lying!" Tyler shouted at her.

"I'm not lying!" the mirth and brightness fade away from Caroline's face as she glares at Tyler.

The werewolf slammed his hands on the wall. "Say it!" he ordered her, heatedly. Which causes a picture next to Caroline's head, dangled and fall to the ground. The glass break and shattered onto the ground. Caroline decided to attack by pushed Tyler back with her vamp-speed and shove him against the wall hard. Her fangs emerged as her blue-green eyes darken with crimson-red with black veins.

The blonde-haired beauty hisses at fearful werewolf while Kol watches her with lovestruck. He truly adores and is pleased to see his vampire using her vampirism against the stupid werewolf. Then, Caroline shoves Tyler away to the ground.

The werewolf immediately crawled backward in fright while eyeing wide at Caroline. The blonde-haired beauty huffed loudly as her face return to normal and brush her bangs away from her face. "I'm not a werewolf, okay?" Caroline answered, truthfully.

"Of course you're not, darling. You are my sexy vampire." Kol wiggles his eyebrows at her with a perverted smirk. He noticed his vampire's lips twitch in a soft smile. His undead heart skips a beat as he was pleased to have knowledge that he made her smile.

.

.

.

"Why is that bloody git still here?" Kol grumbled as he crossed his arms, sulking against the wall while glaring at awkward Tyler who is sitting on the arm of the cushioned chair.

The blonde-haired beauty stride into the living room area with a large glass of whiskey while holding two empty glasses in her other hand. A charming smile appeared on her face. "You know, this sounds crazy, but alcohol helps, or at least it helps me." She held them up as if she is showing the display to her audiences. Kol narrowed his dark gaze at the brand of the alcohol.

"Oh, the bourbon." Kol hummed in approval with a half-smirk. "My kind of girl." Every time he learns something new about his vampire, he discovered that she is becoming his dream girl.

Caroline pours the brown-golden liquid into one of the glasses, effortlessly. "You know, with all that instead jittery stuff." She handed the glass to Tyler who accepted it not unkindly.

"I'm hot. It's like my skin is on fire." The werewolf said, confused and discomfit.

The blonde-haired beauty cocks her eyebrows with interest. "Really?" she pours the alcohol in her glass. "I never had any of that." Tyler sipped his drink while Caroline placed the large whiskey on top of the mantle. Kol stares at the alcohol longing. Oh, how he misses the taste of fine bourbon. "I guess wolves are different. In the beginning, I was very, very emotional. Everything was heightened."

"I have that." Tyler said, understandingly. Caroline just neutrally smiles at him and sips her drink. "How can you be a vampire?" the wild Original's eyes darken at the reminder.

Caroline cleared her throat and smiles stiffly. "How can you be a werewolf?"

The werewolf sighed as he stood up and rubs his mouth thoughtfully. Then he set his glass on the coffee table when he turns his gaze to Caroline questioning. "Who else is like you?"

Kol smirk humorlessly. "This bloody curse town is crawling of vampires, prat. Then again, this stupid town was like a fucking beacon for supernatural." He grumbled, exasperatedly and resigned.

The blonde-haired beauty is hesitant for a moment then friendly smiles at the werewolf. "Just me." She lied which made the ghost stare at her bemusement. "It's a really long story we can share another time—" "I rather don't want you and that stupid werewolf spend anymore time." "—How many other werewolves are there?"

"Just me." Tyler admitted as he crossed his arms while eying her contemplative. "…and my uncle Mason. But he left town."

Kol made the noise back of his throat when he realizes something. "Ah… I assumed that werewolf was the one who got murdered by that Salva-whore." He hopes that Mason bloke has his own werewolf pack so it can go after that soon-to-be-dead vampire's arse. It would be so wonderful!

The blonde-haired beauty's lips pressed together for a bit then she set her glass down on the coffee table. "Look, Tyler…" she steps forward warily yet pleading in her blue-green eyes. "…you can't tell anyone, okay? Not about you, not about me. No one will understand."

"I know." The Lockwood werewolf whisper in resigned and disappointment.

Caroline stares at him with understanding and sympathy. "I want to tell you about my mom and yours and the founding families and the council, but I need you to promise me no one will find out about us. This is life and death, Tyler." She emphasizes, wanting to make sure this is a very serious situation.

They stared at each other for a tense moment while Kol eyeing at them warily. "I have no one else to tell." Tyler opens his mouth, solemnly. "I'm sorry about earlier—" "Apologies not accepted, stupid bloody werewolf." "—It's just, I'm alone with this. It's gonna happen to me. One the next full moon, I'm gonna turn and I won't be able to stop it."

Caroline watches Tyler's eyes started to teary with fear. "I'm scared." He admittedly quietly then shakes his head as he attempts to pull back his tears.

The blonde-haired beauty's kind heart sank. "Tyler… No… I..." she hesitated, not like to see such a confident and arrogant jock showing his vulnerable side. Without thinking, Caroline starts to embrace the werewolf who obviously needed someone to comfort him.

"What the bloody fuck?!" Kol snapped jealously and offended. How dare that stupid dog touches his vampire! He shoves himself away from the wall and stomped toward them. "Darling… I love how big your heart is… but come on!" he whined, not liking seeing the dog's paws on Caroline.

Kol needs to be undaggered as soon as possible so he can make sure none of the humans, werewolves, warlocks, and vampires try their chances with his girl. Stupid, tosser bastard paranoid brother! he once again, silently curses his older brother.

Forbes' Residence
Caroline's Bedroom
Morning…

"You want to what?" Caroline blurted it out in stunned. Kol cock his eyebrow at her with confused what his vampire is talking with the doppelgänger. The blonde-haired beauty closed her eyes as she shakes her head while holding her cell against her ear. "I'm sorry. I'm just—you want to talk with her? Katherine Pierce?" she opened her eyes in disbelief.

Kol straightens up his spine with suspicion. "Does that doppelganger want to talk with that bitch?" he muttered, astonished.

"I…I don't know, Elena…" Caroline is hesitant, as she doesn't want to see her murderer at all. Kol watches his vampire's shoulders slowly slumped with resignation. Her green-blue orbs dim with worried and anxiety. "…fine. I'll meet you there soon." She lowered her cell after she hangs up.

Caroline sighed loudly which Kol is concern and puzzled. He steps forward to her, extends his hand and gently brushes against her cheek with his fingers. The blonde-haired beauty shivers as she closes her eyes. "…she wants me to open the door in the tomb where that—that murderer was currently trapped in."

"What? Why would that minger doppelgänger want to see that trollop?" the wild Original blunted, bewildered and exasperated.

The blonde-haired beauty squints her eyes at the wall for a moment. "I noticed something about you, Kol…" Kol hummed with interest as he pokes her forehead playfully yet wondered. Caroline wrinkles her nose as she touches her cold forehead. "You said strange words—trollop, bloody, git, prat, tosser, minger… these words are so different. Something from Europe, I'm guessing."

"Well… my family was born and raise in the Old World… many assumed Originals are British, and I can guess why they would think that. However, darling… our bloodline was from Old Norse. But I was born and raised in this bloody curse tiny town." Kol explained, knowing that it will confuse his vampire, but he doesn't really know how else to explain.

Caroline noticed the words from her ghost friend. 'There it is again—Originals… that sounds very important. And old? Norse?' she knows quite a bit about Kol but only trivial stuff, and maybe some personal but she never really learn his background, his family, and his past.

As much as she wants to know more, she needs to leave since she was supposed to meet her best friend. Caroline filed it away to learn more about her ghost friend later and maybe will have a talk with her witch best friend?

"Well…" the blonde-haired beauty cleared her throat. "Better head out before I'm late… but, we'll talk more later, okay Kol?"

"Of course, darling." Kol taps her cheek as his response.

Caroline smiles sweetly then went to grab her purse and key. While Kol just watching her for a brief silent moment. He needs to have a real talk with her soon.

But he doesn't know how yet.

Mystic Falls
Woods
Bit Later…

Caroline parked her car near the woods and saw Elena who is standing by the woods. There was a car not too far away from her while the brunette is holding a large leather bag in her arms. Kol raises his eyebrow at the bag with questioning eyes.

When the blonde-haired beauty and the transparent ghost left the car and sauntered toward the brunette. "Elena… can you tell me what's exactly going on and why do you want to see her?" Caroline paused, standing in front of her best friend with bemusement.

Elena adjusted the straps in her elbow with her lips pressed together thoughtfully. "…I was kidnapped couple of nights ago." Caroline's eyes widen in shock while Kol tutted. "And you're alive?" he complained, disappointed. "It's a really long story but to make a short version is that, I am in some kind of danger because I'm a doppelganger. Rose—the vampire that was my kidnapper—came to the Salvatore Building and inform us that… someone was looking for me."

"Oh my God…" Caroline quickly examined her best friend's appearance. "I had no idea… I'm so sorry." She felt guilty that she has no knowledge that her best friend was kidnapped since she was busy with her own life and worried about Tyler.

Elena just shakes her head. "It's fine. I'm fine. The vampire—Elijah is dead but…" Kol perked up when he heard his brother's name with intrigue. "…I heard this one… Rose told me that this guy is real and that he is dangerous."

"Who? And why is he so dangerous?" the blonde-haired beauty asked, worried and edgy. Not liking where this is going.

The brunette lifted her chin. "His name is Klaus and that he was one of the Originals." She declared then glanced around their surrounding with caution.

Caroline froze. 'Originals… that's the third time… twice from Kol and now… Elena… what is Originals exactly?'

At the same time, Kol groaned loudly rather dramatically. "Of bloody course. That good for nothing happy-stab-with-dagger-in-his-siblings'-heart-because-he-is-a-bloody-controllable-freak will be here." He grumbled for a moment until he paused. Wait… if that bastard is coming here then that means the coffins will follow him. Which means— Kol's dark orbs lit up with excitement and eagerness that thought of having his freedom soon.

"What… are the Originals?" Caroline asked, intrigue and morbidly curious.

Elena cleared her throat. "First vampires." Caroline blinked at her in surprised disbelieved while Kol smirks proudly.

"…and what does Katherine—" Caroline spat sarcastically. "—have to do with this?" she really doesn't want to see that murderer bitch.

The brunette sighed but her doe-eyes begging her best friend. "Please. Just… come on. I need you to remove the door so I can talk to her." Then she turned around and walk toward the woods while watching out for the roots and twigs.

Caroline stared at her hesitant then groaned loudly. She minces to her best friend gracefully thanks to her vampirism. Kol follows his vampire with a sour face at the thought of seeing that bitch again.

After a tense five minutes of walking through the woods. Elena opened her mouth. "Tell everyone I wasn't feeling well, and I went home from school." She informed Caroline, calmly.

"I can't believe I'm agreeing to this." The blonde-haired beauty mumbled with disconcerting. "I'm a terrible liar." Kol hummed with agreed. "Agreed but that's just another one of your endearing charms, sweetheart." He comments.

Elena jerked some of her hair away from her face as she continues walking toward a certain location. "And keep Stefan busy. I don't want him to know what I'm up to."

"I'm even worse at duplicity and you know this." Caroline protests while Kol is following them quietly as his dark gaze saw abandoned ruins at the distance. He almost immediately recognized it.

The brunette heaved the heavy bag up at her side. "You'll manage. After all, you tricked Katherine into that trap room." She reminded Caroline.

"And it was bloody brilliant." Kol praised his vampire, proudly.

Caroline huffed. "Barely! She literally pushed me against the wall with her strength that is stronger than me. She could easily snap me like a twig! I was lucky enough that she doesn't know me enough that I'm a terrible liar. But Stefan? He will see right through me." She answered, apprehensive. The thought of tricking her friend made her feel rather uneasy and upset.

Soon, they reached the ruined church in the middle of the woods. Elena halted and turned around to face her best friend. "Caroline, as my friend, do you promise or not?"

Kol glanced at his vampire with question eyes. "I prefer Lexi than her." He commented, indifferently.

"…you had to break out the girlfriend code." Caroline faltered and Elena just raises her eyebrow with knowing eyes. "…okay. I promise." Caroline grumbled.

Elena smiles with relief. "Okay." Then she starts heading straight to the ruin and walked around.

"Why don't you want Stefan to know?" Caroline asked, confused and puzzled while following Elena. Kol is wondering about that as well.

The doppelganger glanced over her shoulder. "Because he would never be okay with me doing this." She answered then descended the stone steps.

Caroline and Kol stared at the slightly dark stone stairs for a brief moment. "Think there's a chance the ruin could collapse?" he asked, hopeful.

The blonde-haired beauty frowned. "If I didn't know any better, I say that you don't like Elena." She muttered, had a feeling that her ghost friend isn't fond of the brunette. Kol made a disgusted face then tap her cheek. "I don't like her. I loathed that minger doppelganger."

Caroline mentally self-note to look up the words meaning later. She went after Elena down the stairs that lead to the temple underneath the Church ruins. Her blue-green eyes examined the temple while Kol hummed with interest as his gaze studied the ruins carefully. "Are you sure you want to do this?" she asked, just in case.

The eyes are on the tomb's door. Elena turned her gaze to Caroline with a determined glint in her eyes. "Yes, I'm sure." She insisted. "She's the only one who knows the truth about Klaus. The only one who can tell me how to stop him." Caroline hesitated while eying the door warily. "Please, Care. I can't sit back and wait. I have to know. Please." Elena pleaded.

Caroline sighed loudly then ambled to the door, and use her vampire strength to moved the large stone door while Kol watching her with admiration. Once the door is removed from the hole, Caroline placed it against the wall and claps the dust and dirt away from her hands.

The blonde-haired beauty steps backward as she refuses to get any close to her murderer. Kol stands close to his vampire with caution.

"Katherine?" Elena called out, as it echoed through inside of the deep area. Almost instantly, they heard a noise. The brunette glanced at Caroline who is obviously worried. "I'll be okay from here." She assured her. Kol didn't care as he wants to leave with his vampire away from the minger doppelganger and the vampire doppel-bitch.

Again, another noise was heard but closer which all eyes turned to the door entrance. The sounds of shuffling were heard until a pair of dirty pale feet came into the light, Slowly, revealed her weak, pale, and dirty appearance, a sign that shows that she is desiccating. Katherine hobbled to the edge of the door entrance with terrible sunken eyes. "Hello Elena." She mockingly greeted as her voice was hoarse.

Caroline frowns heavily as she is eying her murderer while Kol made a disgusted face. "Wow… what a rotten looking bitch then again, this must be what her true inner rotten looks like." Kol commented, offhandedly. He looks so calm and even his tone is cool as well, but his eyes are filled with furiously vicious.

Katherine smirks humorlessly. "You come to watch me wither away?" then her gaze went to silent Caroline. "Goodbye Caroline." She dismissed the blonde-haired beauty rudely. Kol glares at her darkly.

"As long as I stay on this side of the door, she can't hurt me." Elena speaks up then turns her head to Caroline. "Please."

The blonde-haired beauty stared at the brunette and the doppelgänger vampire for a moment blankly then start to leave.

"Is it too much to hope that this ruin of church could collapse and kill them?" Kol mused out loud while went hot on his vampire's tail. It would make him very happy to have not one, but two doppelgangers dead and gone. Plus, it's a bonus to piss his brothers off.

Mystic Falls
High School
Later…

"Stefan!" Kol watches his vampire catching up to Stefan with light jogging across the path while a bunch of students is leaving the school ground. Stefan glanced over his shoulder while walking toward the parking lots.

"Hey." Stefan greeted his friend with a smile.

"Hello, mate." Kol half-smirk at one of the tolerable blokes he grew to accept in his girl's life.

Caroline smiles nervously at him. "Hey, uh… I need to talk to you." She noticed how rushed Stefan is when he is heading straight to his car. "Where are you going?" they are walking side by side.

"Well, Elena went home sick—I just want to go check up on her." The young Salvatore explained, worried about his girlfriend.

Kol scoffed. "Mate… I rather you ditch that minger doppelganger and find a better bird." He muttered.

"Ditch her." Caroline blunted which amuses and fond by Kol.

Stefan huffed with slightly amused, but his green eyes are filled with concern. "I'm kind of worried about her."

"You know what?" Caroline paused and smiled awkwardly at him. "Of course, you are. Go ahead, I'd… you know what?" she shakes her head. "We can talk later." Stefan paused and turned around to examine her.

The wild Original watches his vampire attempting to pull on her acting skill against a hundred-years-old vampire. And luckily, Stefan tilted his head questioning. "Uh, talk about what?"

Caroline swallows her dry throat and smiles sheepishly. "I might have done something?" her voice squeak nervously.

Stefan narrowed his eyes at her warily. "What did you do?"

"…told Tyler I'm a vampire." The blonde-haired beauty blurted it out.

The young Salvatore stared at her blankly then sigh exasperatedly yet resigned. "Caroline…"

"Yes?" Caroline squeaked uneasily.

Kol rubs his mouth, yet his eyes are filled with mirth. "I honestly don't know if you are truly acting or not, sweetheart." He mumbled. "But hook, line, and sinker." He added with an amused smirk.

Mystic Grill
Later…

The mischief Original is sitting on the chair between Caroline and Stefan with obvious amusement clearly on his face as his dark orbs full of mirth and fondness. Kol couldn't believe that his vampire uses an excuse to dragged Stefan into the Grills just so she can eat by not having urges to drink innocents' blood in public.

And poor Stefan had to oblige by Caroline's demands for a while. Caroline is eating her salad while Stefan ignores his full glass of water while his chin rested on top of his entwined fingers, slightly impatiently.

"Sorry to drag you here but if I don't eat, I get those kill innocent people urges." Caroline apologizes with a small shy smile after she gulped down her food. Kol sniggered, knowing that she has excellent self-control with her bloodlust. "Tyler totally has those too by the way." She added, then stab her fork into the lettuce.

Stefan lowered his hands onto the table. "Yeah, what else did you say to him?"

"Not much. I was trying to keep the questions to a minimum." Caroline replied while watching Stefan set his face onto his hands. "Are you mad?" she asked, nervously.

"Yes Caroline. As a matter of fact, I am a little mad." Stefan admitted which surprise Kol because he had never really seen the young Salvatore shown his anger to anyone—especially to Caroline. "I mean, you put yourself a risk." Kol agreed with Stefan's point. "If Damon finds out—"

"But you're not gonna tell him, are you?" Caroline dropped her fork as her head jerked up with edgy. Kol scowled heavily at this.

Stefan shook his head. "No, of course not. He would kill you."

"Not bloody likely. I refuse to allow that to happen to her. That shitty tosser already has a death mark on him." Kol snarled angrily.

A sweet smile appeared on Caroline's face when she heard her ghost friend's words. "Always looking out for me." She said, not just to Stefan but to Kol as well. Stefan smiles at her while Kol leaned against the chair with an exasperated yet fondly sigh.

"Yeah. Well, you don't exactly make it very easy on me." The young Salvatore pointed it out.

"Seconded that, mate." Kol agreed as he knew that his vampire scared the shit out of him few times as both human and vampire that has happened for the last few months. And it's not even close to a year yet. Suddenly, he felt a bit dreading and bit exciting the thought of her possibly riskless trouble-magnet in her eternal vampire life…

Caroline hummed. "Sorry, but I really do appreciate it." She truly does. "But I've always been curious… why are you so… friendly to me?"

"…well, believe it or not, but you and Lexi are a lot like each other." Caroline raises her eyebrow with interest and curiosity. Stefan crossed his arms against the table with a fond smile on his face. "Lexi is full of confidence and bold. She does what she wants, and nothing is gonna stop her. And she will swim across the ocean and move mountains just to make sure her friends are safe. She would do anything for her friends no matter what." Caroline smiles happily as she realizes how Stefan had a fondness for his best friend.

The young Salvatore raises his eyes at Caroline. "And because you do remind me of her, I would like to know is why are you distracting me from something." Kol whistles with impressed while Caroline's smile falls. Her eyes widen in surprise that she was busted. "Well?"

"…uuhhh…" Caroline doesn't know what to say but she knew that Stefan would see through her. 'I told you, Elena! I told you!' she mused, slightly panicked. "Umm… Tyler is totally freaking out because there's a full moon coming up and I don't wanna Damon to kill him." She blurted it out, attempt to distract him but it was futile.

"Now I'm leaving." Stefan grabbed his bag while Kol glanced at panicked Caroline. "Good try, darling." The blonde-haired beauty leaned forward and gabbed Stefan's arm.

"Wait!" Caroline protest.

Stefan paused, sat down, and face her properly with a raise questioning eyebrow at her. "You have two seconds to come clean." He warned her, not unkindly.

Caroline's shoulder slumped, resigned. "I…I really can't tell you."

"…is this about Elena?" Stefan guessed and took Caroline's silence as an answer while Kol was impressed with Stefan's intelligence. "I need you to tell me. Elena was kidnapped, she could have been killed and you're seriously not gonna tell me what's going on?"

The blonde-haired beauty assured her friend. "She's not in any danger—" "Unfortunately." "—I would not have let her put herself in danger."

"Put herself in danger where?" the young Salvatore straighten up his spine in alarm. "What do you…" he trailed off with hesitation, anxiety, apprehension, and slightly hurt. "She's with Damon, isn't she?"

Caroline made a disgusted face while Kol carefully studied the young Salvatore's face. "Ew, no!" the blonde-haired rebuked and the relief shines in Stefan's eyes but he hid it. "…bloody hell… does your whore of a brother fell in love with her already?!" Kol has a feeling that this is true. "What is with Petrova doppelgangers that makes it so appealing to brothers?" he muffled, not understanding.

"Listen, please… you have to tell me. You are my friend and I need to know where she is." Stefan pleading as he is truly worried about his girlfriend.

The blonde-haired beauty stared at him for a brief moment then closed her eyes. "I'm sorry, Stefan. You are my friend, no doubt it." Then she opens her eyes with determination. "But I'm also Elena's friend. I'm not going to tell you where she is." She stated.

"You have a good loyalty, sweetheart. But that minger doppelganger doesn't deserve it." Kol grumbled. Then he watches Stefan who sighed but smiles understandingly at her. The young Salvatore stood up, grabbed his satchel to pulled over his shoulder, and walked away to the exit of the door.

Caroline slumped against the chair while playing with her salad with her fork. "…I'm sorry, Stefan." She whispered, guilty.

Kol pokes his vampire's forehead. "It's alright, love." He muttered. "I'm sure he understands why you can't tell him." He knew how much loyalty she has for her friends. He admired that part about her. Caroline wrinkles her nose at the freezing touch once again but smiles softly.

"I'm glad you're here with me, Kol." Caroline whispered, content.

A grin appeared on the wild Original's face. "Me too, darling." Bound curses or not, he is glad to be with Caroline.
