Hey, everyone~ *waves*

A lot has happened in my life. My little brother had a terrible tragic accident on March 8th. However, my family and I have been praying and loving him so much... for ten days, we kept praying and staying strong for him. It was very, very serious head trauma and it was awful... He fought so hard for so long...

On March 18th, he passed away.

It was very heartbreaking for me and my family. We lost a special family. He was so young, just started to live his life in the adult world. I had to step away from stories because I couldn't bring myself to type/write. I was too much in grief at the loss of my little brother. He was gone. It was hard.

Right now, I'm still grieving but at the same time, living my life to move forward. I'm trying. And not only that, my family and I are moving to a new house. A fresh start and new memories.

That's why I've been gone for a while. And I hope this long chapter makes up for it?

Thanks for follows, favs, and reviews. It made me smile to see it.

I don't own Vampire Diaries nor the song or anything.

I hope you all enjoy it and please, always love your family and friends. As life is too short. Always cherish them in your heart and remind them that you love them always. You'll never know it'll be your last.

Mystic Falls
Mystic Falls High School
A Week Later…

Kol watches his vampire with amused yet adored when Caroline walks with a large smile on her face. Caroline and Bonnie have been hanging out with each other for the past few days, rekindled their best friend bond, and are now closer than ever. The blonde-haired beauty was beyond happy that she got her best friend back.

Caroline hummed joyfully while striding down the corridor in the high school. She adjusted the strap of her bag on her shoulder. Kol walks beside her as his hands are in his pockets. His dark gaze scanned around disinterested.

When the blonde-haired beauty spotted one of her friends, her eyes lighten up. "Hey, Matt." She greeted the football player. Kol grunted but didn't glare at the Quarterback since the mortal isn't too bad. For a human.

Matt glanced over his shoulder and half-grinned at her. "Hey." He returned to the wall and finished taping it.

Kol and Caroline peek at the poster labeled "Live Music Tonight at the Mystic Grill!" on the wall. The blonde-haired beauty read the poster with curiosity. "Live band?" she questioned.

"Yeah, the business has been a little slow." Matt informed his friend, then start walking. Caroline stepped to his side with interest. "The Grill's trying to stay afloat."

Caroline hummed with understanding. Matt glanced at her wondering. "Have you heard from Tyler?"

Kol made a bitter face while Caroline frowned with puzzled. She shook her head in response which made Matt sigh while his hand that is holding the rolled posters hit lightly against the other hand. His bright blue eyes shine with worried. "I haven't seen or heard of him for days. Not since he stopped by the Grill to talk, and I've left messages on his cell phone." He is worried about his best friend and hopes that Tyler is okay.

"He stopped by to see you?" Caroline paused with curiosity. Matt stopped, and turn his eyes to her. "What did he say?"

The Quarterback shrugged his shoulders. "Not much, really. I mean… I think to say goodbye without really saying goodbye. I just didn't know it."

"Wait, that git werewolf is gone? Thank bloody Goddess for that." Kol said with relief, satisfied and joyful.

Caroline hummed thoughtfully. She hasn't realized that Tyler was gone from the town. She could even feel that her ghost friend is very happy that the werewolf is away. Even though she breaks her friendship with Tyler, doesn't mean she stops caring about him. She lifted her gaze to her friend and noticed Matt wasn't looking at her.

The blonde-haired beauty followed his direction and saw Amber putting books away in the locker from the distance. Caroline's lips smirk slyly. "Oh~" she sang as she moved her eyes to Matt. "How's Amber?" she wiggles her eyebrows at him.

Kol observed the human girl with neutral interest. "She's your type, mate?" he muttered, curious. He could see Amber is rather decently pretty for a human.

"Excuse me?" Matt raised his eyebrows at Caroline with confusion.

Caroline rolled her eyes playfully. "Don't think I didn't see how you are allured by Amber." She said with narrowed eyes, daring him to lie to her.

The football player's lips pressed together. His blue eyes filled with hesitation for a bit then sighed loudly. "…haven't exactly asked her to hang out with me for a few days since I was busy with my shifts." Matt admitted.

"Then… use this opportunity to ask her to hang out with you." Caroline pointed at the posters in her friend's hands. "I think it's a perfect time." She suggests, wanting to help Matt to pursue his happiness with a sweet girl.

Matt bit his bottom lip, hesitant and pondering. Caroline persuades him. "Come on! I'm sure she'll say yes." The football player finally gives in as he nods his head. He steps forward toward Amber.

Kol watches Matt approach Amber after he called out her name. Amber paused as she turned her head over her shoulder. Her lips break into a wide smile as her eyes shine brightly when she saw Matt.

"Awww… they are so cute." Caroline cooed when she saw how shy Matt is acting with happy Amber. "Totally ship them." Kol raises his eyebrow at her confused but amused. He poke her forehead which made Caroline shiver with a face.

Kol sniggered softly at her comedic-irked face.

"Wish I could poke you back." Caroline grumbled, childishly and turn around to walk toward her first class with amused Kol following behind.

Gilbert Residence
Later…

Kol leaned against the wall with his arms crossed across his chest. He watches his vampire gathered in the kitchen with Elena and Bonnie. They are having a girls' night together to take a break from the supernatural world. Caroline leaned against the counter with an excited smile on her face. "Chinese food or pizza?" she asked her two best friends. It's been a while since they've hung out together.

Elena grabbed a bowl of chips to place it on the island with a knowing smile. "Like you have to ask."

The girls giggle as the brunette walked back to the pantry to check for any other snacks. Bonnie leaned her chin on her palm while Caroline picked up her tablet from her purse to place an order online.

"Do you believe that Jonas is being sincere?" Elena asked, walking back to place a small bowl of salsas next to the bowl of chips.

Bonnie half-shrug while watching Caroline type in "pizza" as she opens her mouth. "I don't know what to believe. I think he's at a loss. He's not sure who to trust."

"He doesn't trust Elijah?" Caroline speaks up, confused while Kol narrowed his eyes at Bonnie and Elena who exchange glances. "What?" the blonde-haired beauty paused, noticing their looks.

The petite witch pressed her lips together while Elena went to the cupboards to gather the three cups of glass. "…I've learned this morning, but Stefan told me that he and Elena daggered Elijah last week."

"What the bloody hell?!" Kol snapped incredulity while Caroline stared at them in shock. The blonde-haired beauty silently understood why she didn't get a response from Elijah when she tried to text him a few days ago. "W-why?" Caroline asked, puzzled.

Elena carefully set the three glasses of cups down. "Because Damon and Stefan think it's a good idea to kill Elijah out of the way." She explained, justified the Salvatore Brothers' action.

Kol scoffed loudly. "You broke your words against Elijah. I can't believe you—I can't even—" he runs his fingers through his hair disbelieving how stupid the Salvatore Brothers and the human doppelganger are.

The blonde-haired beauty just shakes her head astonished by the excuse. "But… you made a deal with him, right? He didn't really like—break his words or something to you?" Elena opens her mouth but was hesitant then snapped her jaws together.

Bonnie frowned when she realized what Caroline meant. "True that Elijah didn't really make his deal… but he didn't tell Elena that in order to kill Klaus, it would be after Elena's death." She attempts to be neutral between her two friends, not wanting to take sides.

The wild Original glares at the minger doppelganger who looked away. "No fucking way…" Kol noticed how guilt and remorseful held inside of her eyes. "You knew about the sacrifice." He blurted, amazed.

"Wait what?" Caroline jerked her head up at Elena as she lowered her tablet down with an astonishing frown on her face. "Did you know about the sacrifice?"

Bonnie blinked taken aback by this question. She shifted her olive-green orbs to Elena who stared at the island counter quietly. "Elena?" the petite witch probed. "Did you already know that?"

Elena inhaled for a moment then slowly glanced up at her friends. "…yeah." She exhaled, admitted.

Caroline and Bonnie glanced at each other in stunned while Kol chuckled dryly. "Well, at least you didn't pull Katerina's death and become a vampire." He muttered. "I can't believe you broke your words against 'Lijah." He knew how much his brother despised anyone who dare break the deal against him.

"Are you serious?" Caroline blurted it out in shock while Bonnie attempted to find a word to speak out. Elena just shrugs her shoulders and slowly sat down on one of the high chairs. "No. Nu-huh. You don't get to shrug…" the blonde-haired beauty shakes her head and pointed her finger at Elena. "You are seriously willing to… die?" she squeaks the last part in astonishment.

The human doppelganger huffed softly. "If I die for protecting the people I love then, yeah. I'm serious." She confessed.

"Well… at least she is a bit different from dopple-bitch." Kol commented.

The Bennett witch is at complete loss of words. She honestly has no words for this unexpected truth. Caroline closed her eyes for a brief moment to process what she just learned. "…what about Jeremy?" she opens her eyes with a serious face. "Your aunt Jenna? What about us? Stefan?" she waves her hand at herself and Bonnie.

"Which is why I would do anything to protect you guys because I love you all." Elena stated, determined. "I can't handle if one of you dies… I already lost my parents. I—I can't lose more important people." She explained with teary eyes when she thought about losing her precious people.

Bonnie and Caroline glanced at each other quietly. "Elena… we care about you, and we want to protect you. We are willing to die for you." The Bennett witch rebuked, solemnly.

"Seriously. What is it with her that makes it so important that people are willing to die for?" the prince Original frowned deeply while eyeing Elena with skepticism. "She's not bloody special at all." He turned his nose up, disinterested.

The human doppelganger just shakes her head, controlled her emotions, and placed a fake smile on her face. "Can we please just drop this and focus on normal girls' night? I don't want to think about supernatural or sacrifice. I just—I just want us to have fun and enjoy this night… please?" her doe-eye begging them.

The witch and the vampire stared at Elena then glanced at each other and nodded their head to play truce for the night. Elena's shoulders relax in relief. Bonnie takes the tablet and decides to order instead. Caroline leaned forward to place her chin on her fist as her elbow rested on the island. "So…what are we going to do about this movie situation? Gone with the Wind? Or maybe The Notebook?"

Elena huffed with a smile while Bonnie just shakes her head with mirth in her eyes. Kol groaned loudly. He has watched those two movies countless times with his vampire. Sad to say, he memorizes the lines from two films.

Sometimes, the mischief Original wondered if he is seriously being punished or something…

"Caroline…" the human doppelganger raises her eyebrow at her with amusement. "…how many times have you seen that movie?"

The blonde-haired beauty dropped her fist and wave her hand with playful defensive. "That is so not the point." She couldn't help that she loves watching romantic films. "…fine. How about Titanic?" she throws another option of the movie. Kol narrowed his eyes confused. He never heard of that movie before. Although, he vaguely heard of that name from his past…

"You wanna cry during the movies so badly?" the petite witch asked with cock eyebrow while she found a link to the pizza place on the tablet.

Caroline grabbed a piece of chip from the bowl. "Hey—Titanic is one of the most tear-jerking movies and the romance between two star-cross lovers just…" she sighed dreamily. "That kind of love was so true and real and beautiful. Wish I have that kind of love." Caroline bites her chip, longing for real love in her life.

"And you will." Kol promised as his eyes darkened with hunger while examined his vampire.

Then a strawberry-haired woman entered the kitchen area as she took out her purse from her shoulder. She paused when she saw three teenagers gathered around the island. Caroline waved at the woman while Bonnie nods her head greeted.

Elena turned her head over her shoulder and saw her aunt. "Hey."

"What's going on?" Jenna asked, curious and slightly suspicious.

The doppelganger smiles gently. "Girls' night." She answered. Jenna hummed in response then set her purse down on the table. "How are you doing?" Elena asked, concerned.

Jenna's lips pressed together with an exasperated face. "You head about my fight with Ric." She stated.

"He feels terrible." Elena informed her aunt.

The strawberry-haired woman narrowed her eyes at her niece questionably. "Is this some kind of disguised attempted to cheer me up?"

Bonnie shakes her head, denied while Caroline just smiles awkwardly and Kol sighed heavily, wanting to get this night over with. Elena glanced over at her friends and shifted her attention to her aunt with a shaking head. "No. No, this is about us girls hanging out and you know, we'll be here if you happen to want to talk, or…" she trailed off, worried about her aunt.

Caroline reached for a chip from the bowl and stuffed it in her mouth while Bonnie pretended to look at the tablet. Kol stared at the wall, dazed off as he is entertaining the thought of playing baseball with a few soon-to-be-dead vampires' heads from his Must-Kill list.

"I'm not…" Jenna shut her mouth while licking her teeth, disconcerted and miffed.

The blonde-haired beauty suddenly got an idea and then beamed at her friends and Jenna. "You know what we need?" she chirped and Kol blinked at her with curiosity. "Dancing." An excited smile appeared on her face as others stared at her with interest. "There is a band at the Grill." Caroline informed them, cheerily.

"I'm in." Bonnie agreed with her vampire best friend.

"In." Elena lifted her glass.

"Why not." Kol commented with a shrug.

All eyes are on Jenna who stares at them then slowly a small smile appears on her face. "In." she decided, why not have fun with the girls for tonight.

Caroline claps her hands delightfully while Kol watches her with adoration.

Mystic Grill
Night — Live Band

"Not bad." The wild Original muttered as he strode through the people easily, since the Grill is crowded, following his vampire. The live band is playing loud yet energetic music throughout the restaurant. Everyone is truly enjoying the song when the singer is playing his guitar with his band while singing a love song about a girl.

"Wow." Caroline admired and was amazed by how successful this live band is making the business grow back up. Bonnie and Elena agreed with the blonde-haired beauty while Jenna spotted Alaric from the distance.

Jenna moved her eyes to them. "I need a drink." She turns around and headed toward the bar. Caroline, Bonnie, Elena, and Kol noticed the vampire hunter approaching the bar as well.

"Well, that's not awkward at all." Caroline sarcastically said which made Kol snort with amusement. Bonnie and Elena glanced at each other.

The blonde-haired beauty scanned around while bobbling her head, enjoying listening to the music until her blue-green orbs spotted Matt and Amber at the corner of the room. They were chatting happily together which made Caroline 'aww-ed' at them.

"Care?" Bonnie asked, curious.

Caroline shifted her eyes to her best friends with a proud smile on her face. "Matt is pursuing the girl he likes!" she squealed excitedly for him. Kol glanced over and hummed with approval that the human boy isn't interested in his vampire at all. That made him feel much better.

The Bennett witch and doppelganger glanced over where Caroline pointed, and they coo-ed at the cutest couple ever. "Okay, they both are so adorable." Bonnie commented with a warm smile.

"Agreed." Elena smiles happily for Matt. "Excuse me, I need to use a powder room." She said, headed to the bathrooms.

Caroline turned her gaze to Bonnie while Kol leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, a few feet behind his vampire. "So… any boys?" she sang playfully at the witch.

Bonnie bit her lips, pondering which Caroline raised her eyebrow at her. "Wait? There is a boy?" she asked, intrigued.

"…maybe." The Bennett witch replied while turning her eyes at the live band shyly.

The blonde-haired beauty gasped dramatically. "Who?!" Bonnie just shakes her head with her lips pressed together. "Oh come on, Bon! Please? I'm literally the only person who has a non-existence love life." She pointed it out, sulking.

"Oi." Kol pushed himself off the wall to poke childishly at his vampire, reminding her that he has feelings for her.

Caroline barely held back her shivers. 'Oh, right… there's Kol… and Tyler. Original ghost and werewolf…' she wrinkles her nose and mentally shook it away. She felt like this is some kind of weird rom-com or something.

"…promise you won't tell anyone?" Bonnie asked her with a serious face while fidgeting with her bracelets out of nervous habit. The blonde-haired beauty tilted her head with curiosity but nodded her head. "I think I might… have a crush on Jeremy." She whispered the last part, barely audible.

Luckily, Caroline's a vampire which made her hearing heightened. Her eyes widen in shock while Kol blinked at her. "Jeremy? As in Jeremy Gilbert? Elena's younger brother?"

"Really? That baby Gilbert?" the prince Original made a face. He didn't think Jeremy Gilbert would be a right significance for a powerful Bennett witch.

Bonnie carefully glanced around to make sure no one hears their conversation. She moved her olive-green orbs at her and nodded in response. "…we even kissed twice." She added, shyly.

"Wow." Caroline didn't expect that at all. Jeremy Gilbert and Bonnie Bennett. What an odd pairing. Kol returns back to leaning against the wall as he is watching his vampire and the witch quietly with mild interest.

The Bennett witch bit her lip worriedly as she glances at the bathrooms from the distance. "I know, I know… it's weird because he's our best friend's younger brother." She said with a disappointed yet guilty frown on her face.

The blonde-haired beauty studied the witch quietly and then placed her arm around Bonnie's shoulders. "Hey… we've known Jeremy forever, and we only see him one way, as Elena's brother. But… things are different now." Bonnie glanced up at her, reluctantly hopeful and a bit uneasy. "You're a witch. I'm a vampire. Elena's a doppelganger. It's not like we're in any position—"

"To be picky." Bonnie interjected with a half-smile.

Caroline chuckled softly as she shakes her head. "No. To judge." She could see a spark of relief in a witch's olive-green eyes. "If you really like Jeremy, and Jeremy likes you, then I say go for it." She courage her best friend, to support her.

"Care…" Bonnie's eyes soften with gratitude. "…I—I don't know. I mean, I want to but…" she hesitant, anxious, and nervous.

The blonde-haired beauty hummed softly, and the live band finished their song. The audience cheered as they applauded the band. The singer bows his head at them gratefully and leaned to the mike. "We'll be back in five." He informed them, then turn his attention to his band members.

Most of the customers went to reorder their drinks or food while others headed to the bathroom breaks. Some are chatting as they wait for the live band back on.

Elena returns to them with a smile. "Hey…" she glanced around. "What's going on?"

"They'll sing another song in five minutes." Caroline answered the doppelganger while dropping her arm from her witch's shoulders. "I'm going a drink, you want one?" she offers which her best friends denied. Caroline nods her head, and walks toward the bar, leaving a witch and a doppelganger to have friendly chat.

Kol followed his vampire and watched her order a glass of water at the bar. Caroline lightly drummed her fingers against the counter while waiting. The mischief Original leaned his back against the counter next to her.

"Caroline." The blonde-haired beauty and Kol turned their gaze to Matt who approached her with a warm smile as he is holding hands with Amber. Caroline greeted her friend happily and waves at Amber who shyly waves back. "What do you think?" Matt tipped his head at the live band, wondering.

Caroline smiles widely. "They sounded great!" she glanced around the crowded Grill. "It seems that the Grill's business will be booming once again."

"Yeah." Matt agreed, relief and satisfied while rubbing his thumb against Amber's hand, gently.

Kol leaned heavily against the counter while scanning around the Grill with neutral interest as his vampire is chatting with Matt and Amber. The bartender arrived with a glass of water to Caroline who thanked him. The man leaned forward and whispered to Matt who frowned. "Wait, really?" the bartender nods his head and walked away to focus on his customers.

"What's wrong?" Caroline asked, curious as she lifted her cup to her lips.

The Quarterback glanced at her until his blue eyes lit up. "Sing on that stage." Caroline nearly chokes on her water while Kol raises his eyebrow at him.

"Oh my—excuse me?" the blonde-haired beauty carefully set the glass down and wipe the water from her chin. Her blue-green orbs are filled with incredulity at Matt.

Matt steps closer to her with pleading eyes. "The singer isn't feeling well right now and he needs a moment to take a break. So, I'm hoping you could take over that position?" Caroline gap at him while Kol turned his gaze to his girl. "You can sing?" he didn't know this. Well, he recalled that she did have a nice voice when she sang in the car once in a while. But he didn't know that Caroline could actually sing.

"I think that's a good idea." Amber speaks up, softly while squeezing Matt's hand. She smiles gently at Caroline. "If I remember right, didn't you sing that one solo song in elementary?" Amber looked at Matt, attempting to recall when they all went same elementary school despite that they are only one grade apart.

The football player nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah… that song. Christmas one…" he attempted to remember.

"You mean…" the blonde-haired beauty tilted her head puzzled. "Little Drummer Boy?" she barely remembered that piece of memory when she was like—six.

Matt made the noise back of his throat that she is correct. "Yeah. I remember that you have a nice voice." Amber agreed with him as she smiles at Caroline. "I bet your voice is now really pretty."

"And… you want me—" Caroline pointed at herself with disbelief. "—to sing a song—" pointed at the stage. "—on that stage?"

"I wanna hear it. Darling, I wanna hear your voice." Kol perked up with interest and curiosity. He pokes his vampire's forehead. The blonde-haired beauty nearly jumped by the icy-cold touch.

Matt held up his index finger with a hopeful face. "One song. Please?"

Caroline just stared at him skeptically. "I don't know, Matt… I'm not exactly a professional singer. I only sing in the shower."

The mischief Original's dark gaze sparked with delight. Maybe it wouldn't be boring if he was in the bathroom with her as long as he could listen to her singing voice. The one in the car doesn't count since Caroline always uses a soft tone or mouthing the lyrics. Possibly a peek or two if I see her naked glory. Kol mused, lecherous look at his oblivious vampire.

"Please?" the Quarterback begged. "We can't let the Grill down." Even Amber begged her with her wide innocent eyes.

The blonde-haired beauty groaned loudly as her shoulders slumped, resigned. "Fine, fine!" she grumbled. Matt and Amber perked up with excitement while Kol stared at them with amusement. He feels like he is watching two eager puppies that beg Caroline to take them outdoor for a walk.

"Great!" Matt said, with relief and happiness. He turned to Amber. "I'm going to take her to the band and talk to them. I'll be back." He promised. The pretty girl nodded her head as she and Matt were unwilling to release their hands. "Come on." Matt led mild-dramatic petulant Caroline straight to the band as Kol follow closely with fascination.

When they arrived at the stage, Matt leaned forward to discuss them while Caroline takes off her jacket to reveal her cute red and white top, dark jeans, and red flats. Kol could see how nervous his vampire is, so he gently brushes his fingers against her cheeks. "You'll do wonderful, darling." He attempts to comfort her.

Caroline shivers yet a small shy smile appeared on her face which made Kol smug. He really likes being the reason to bring her a smile.

"Awesome, thanks." Matt turned around and half-grinned at her. "They are ready for you." Caroline handed him her jacket which he takes it not unkindly, knowing that Caroline wants him to hold onto it. "You can do it." He courage her then walk away.

The blonde-haired beauty watches Matt heading back to Amber who is waiting by the bar. Her blue-green orb shifted to the stage and mentally gulped dryly. She couldn't believe she is doing this.

The things she does for her friends…

When Caroline ascended the stairs to the stage while quickly thinking of any cover songs that she could sing. 'Good thing I'm only going to sing one song.' She mused, relief and nervous. Her gaze glanced at Jenna who walks back to Bonnie and Elena while Alaric stares longing and guilty at her at the corner of the bar. Matt and Amber are staring at each other with adores and shy smiles. There are a few couples here and there. She thought about how Bonnie was hesitant to open up her feelings for a young Gilbert. How Elena is having an epic love with Stefan.

How she thought about Kol, who for some reason, has feelings for her. Which made her heart beat a bit fast and small butterflies in her stomach.

Instantly, she knew a perfect song to deliver to her friends.

And maybe… who knows…

For herself too?

The blonde-haired beauty slowly started to have confidence as she turns around and whispered the name of the song to the band members. "I would like to sing Eternal Flame by The Bangles." Luckily, the band members approved of her song choice as they knew the music of it.

Caroline steps up to the microphone and smiles shyly. "Hello." She greeted the audience while Kol stands at the side of the stage with his arms crossed, interested.

In the audience, Elena's eyes widen in astonished surprise while Bonnie raises her eyebrows in baffled. Jenna stood next to them with a bewildered frown. "What's going on?"

"The main entertainer is a bit occupied at the moment. So, I will be taking over the stage for a song." A sweet smile appeared on her face. "This song is special for anyone who has their own special person in their heart." She stated, kindly.

Back to the audience, Jenna drowned down a shot of tequila while Elena and Bonnie glanced at each other baffled yet worried. "Can she even sing?" Elena whispered to the witch, a bit doubtful.

Bonnie shrugged her shoulders. "I recalled that one solo she did at the elementary school… I don't know if she can sing or not." She muttered, worried.

On the stage, Caroline nods her head at the band members who started playing the instruments. The Gill is filled with music, which was soft at first however, it capture the audience's attention. The blonde-haired beauty closed her eyes as the spotlight shines upon her.

"Close your eyes, give me your hand, darlin'
Do you feel my heart beating
Do you understand
Do you feel the same
Am I only dreaming
Is this burning an eternal flame~"

Kol straighten up his spine as he dropped his arms to his sides. His dark gaze was filled with a pleasant surprise. In the audience, they start bobbing their heads while swaying to the music and her lovely voice.

Jenna glanced at Elena and Bonnie with an impressed smile. "She's good."

"She definitely is!" Bonnie was proud and awed by her best friend's hidden talent for singing while Elena just nodded with wonder.

"I believe it's meant to be, darlin'
I watch you when you are sleeping
You belong with me
Do you feel the same
Am I only dreaming
Or is this burning an eternal flame~"

The wild Original ambled around the stage to the front so that he could see her up close. In the back, Jenna shifted her attention to Alaric who is listening to Caroline's singing. Alaric glanced at Jenna and they both stare at each other for a moment until Jenna break it away with a blank face.

While Matt and Amber are leaning against each other while enjoying listening to the song. "Looks like you were right, Matt. Caroline's voice has grown to be very pretty." Amber whispered, happy for the blonde-haired beauty.

Matt's eyes soften as he couldn't believe how selfless and kindhearted this amazing girl was. He recalled how he used to have a crush on Caroline a few months ago, how she was so strong, bubbly, positive, and kind. Caroline Forbes reminded him of a bright beautiful sun. Amber Bradley reminded him of a star that is hidden in the night sky that takes one a chance to catch. Honestly, Matt is grateful to have Caroline as his one of good friends. His crush had changed to Amber and couldn't help himself that he wants Amber's heart. Just as she has already stolen his.

"Say my name
Sun shines through the rain
A whole life so lonely
And then come and ease the pain
I don't want to lose this feeling, oh~"

Caroline opens her eyes to reveal her shining blue-green orbs that reminded Kol of turquoise, almost the same exact shade of her pendant necklace that she is wearing it. The blonde-haired beauty start sways her body as she follows the beats of the music. A bright smile appeared on her face when she noticed how the audience enjoyed listening to her.

Bonnie's smile slowly faded when she thought about Jeremy who wants to give them a chance to become something—a real relationship between both of them. She wonders if she should give him a real chance. To explore their possible romance. Bonnie did like the attention she is getting from Jeremy because he was the only guy who actually showed his interest in her. Not her beautiful brunette best friend and not her confident blonde best friend. But her.

The Bennett witch likes Jeremy but she wasn't sure how much she likes him, but maybe she should seriously give it a shot. To take the chance and who knows… they might have chemistry. If not, then… it's better to know what it feels like to have someone who sees her as special than never know and experience, right?

"Close your eyes, give me your hand
Do you feel my heart beating
Do you understand
Do you feel the same
Am I only dreaming
Or is this burning an eternal flame~"

Kol's dark eyes filled with admiration, fondness, warmth, and awestruck by her majestic appearance in the spotlight. Her voice, her eyes, her smiles, and her feeling throughout the song. It was absolutely breathtaking, and he adores it. He wondered why Caroline didn't sing such emotions often in her free time?

The wild Original wouldn't mind hearing her sing out loud and be passionate. Express her feelings through whatever songs she sings. Sure, she isn't the best singer in the world, but she has a lovely voice. So pure, so raw, and so real. Kol wants to record it, save it and hear it over and over and over until he never forgets her sweet voice.

He carefully memorized his vampire to commit in his mind as he realizes she is closer to the end of the song. He watches Caroline tilt her head as she closes her eyes halfway. "Close your eyes, give me your hand, darlin~" she sang the last lyrics.

The song ends and the audience cheered and applauded her. Kol grinned widely as his eyes glinted with pride. "Beautiful." He murmured, observing Caroline's red cheeks, bright eyes, and lovely smile.

Later…

Caroline, Bonnie, Elena, and Jenna are sitting at the booth while animatedly chatting with each other. Kol is sitting on an empty chair, leaning back while pressing his cheek against his fist.

"I still can't believe you sing…" Bonnie said with a wide smile. "You sounded really good!" Jenna agreed with the Bennett witch while Elena nodded her head.

"She sounded very lovely." Kol speaks up with fondness as he is watching his bubbly vampire.

The blonde-haired beauty beamed at her witch best friend. "Thank you!" she got quite an amount of praise from others for her singing which made her really thrilled and ecstatic.

Elena fiddled with her straw of coke soda. "What made you choose that song?" she is curious.

"Well… I've seen a lot of couples around here, and there are probably few people who have someone special in their heart… I thought, maybe the song will help them by encouraging them." Caroline explained, a bit shyly.

Jenna and Elena hummed understandingly while Bonnie glanced at the blonde-haired beauty who gives her a supportive smile.

"Elena…" Bonnie opens her mouth and Elena smile at her in response. "…would it freak you out if I started dating your brother?" she decided to go straight to the point which shocked Elena and Jenna.

Caroline beamed proudly at her witch best friend while Kol raise his eyebrow with mirth in his eyes. "Straight to the point, huh?" he muttered, amused.

"You're… into my brother?" the doppelganger slowly said with disbelief while Jenna's lips twitched with a pleasant surprise.

The Bennett witch bit her lip nervously. "I know it's weird, but he's been so good and strong. He made me happy, and I really can't tell what you're thinking…" she noticed Elena's jaw drop while Jenna just stared at her stunned. "…right now." Her hand reached Caroline's hand, who accepted it and was there for her.

Slowly, Elena's jaw close while Jenna made a noise from the back of her throat. "I'm thinking that…" they both glanced for a moment then shifted their attention back to her. "My brother has had more pain in his life than a hundred people's worth of pain, and…" she chuckled with disbelief, "He deserves to be with someone as amazing as you."

"I agreed with her." Jenna smiles kindly at Bonnie.

A big smile broke on a witch's face. "Really?"

"Really." Elena nods her head.

Kol made a face. "Still think that little witch could get someone better than that baby Gilbert." He muttered. He doesn't think Jeremy could handle Bonnie, nor would he understand the supernatural world. Bonnie Bennett is from the powerful witch coven and a Bennett witch needs someone who is capable to be strong and superior to her. "Oh well, hopefully, this is just a phrase…"

Caroline squealed happily for Bonnie. "Oh, I'm so happy for you, Bon bon!" she hugged Bonnie who hugged back with a joyful smile.

"Speaking of dating… what about you Caroline?" Jenna asked, curious about the blonde-haired beauty's dating life.

The blonde-haired beauty breaks her hug from Bonnie. "There's… no one I'm interested in at the moment." She truthfully said. There really wasn't anyone that has capture her attention yet. Even though she knew Tyler had felt something for her, she still wasn't interested. Plus, there is a curse Original who has feelings for her, and she wasn't sure what to do with that.

However, Kol did assure her that they are friends, despite that he has romantic feelings for her.

The wild Original's eyes became darkened with promise. "I will change that—hopefully soon." At least Caroline hasn't shown any interest in anyone, much to Kol's relief.

Jenna hummed with understanding. "Hopefully there will be one for you someday soon." She assures Caroline who smiles gratefully at her. "Now, if you ladies excuse me, I need another tequila shot." She slides out off the bench and headed to the bar.

Before anyone open their mouth, a ringtone interrupted, and Elena grabbed her phone from her purse. She glanced at the ID caller and a sweet smile appeared on her face. "It's Stefan." She answered her phone. "Hello? I'm sorry, I can't hear you… hold on." Elena held her phone on her shoulder as she uses her free hand to point at the door, a gesture that she'll be outside to talk to her boyfriend.

"I still think Stefan needs a better bird!" Kol shouted, uncaringly.

Caroline and Bonnie glance at each other and went all giddy over the fact that a witch is finally going to have her real first boyfriend. "Ah, I need to use the bathroom." The blonde-haired beauty slides out so that Bonnie could leave and headed to the restroom.

Kol jerked up when he saw a warlock stride through the Grill. "Oh, bloody hell." He recognized that dark look from the man, and instantly knew that he is in a revenge mood.

"Dr. Martin?" Caroline muttered when she spotted the man. She sauntered her way toward him through the crowd while Kol curses under his breath. The wild Original went hot on her tail.

When the blonde-haired beauty reached the warlock. "Excuse me?" Jonas paused and turned to her with dead eyes and an angry frown. "Dr. Martin, right?" they both never officially meet even though they have heard a bit about each other.

Jonas' hands curled into fists at his sides. "Where is she?"

"Careful." Kol warned his vampire as he steps closer to her. Caroline could feel the icy-cold on her back as she straightens her spine with wary eyes. "What's going on?"

"My son is dead." Kol curses under his breath while Caroline's eyes widen in shock. "Those fools killed Elijah and they killed Luka—" he chokes when he clearly remembered his dead son thirty minutes ago. "—and my only shot at getting my daughter back is if I have Elena."

The mischief Original groaned loudly. "Oh bollock… we have a very pissed off warlock." He dryly said.

"No. No, Dr. Martin." Caroline protested, wanting to calm the angry father who lost his son.

Jonas glanced at the stage and suddenly, the spotlights shattered which startled the band members and the audience.

"Correction. A very pissed off powerful warlock." Kol grimaced when he noticed how powerful the warlock is.

Caroline gulped nervously while stepping back when the warlock glares at her. "Where is she?" he demanded.

"I—I don't know." The blonde-haired beauty answered, apprehension.

Her answer isn't what Dr. Martin wants to hear, so he lifted his eyes around, and suddenly, the rest of the lights are blackout. "Well shit." Kol blunted as he blinked at the semi-dark Grill.

People are making a bit of chaos right now while others are slowly leaving the Grills. Unknowingly, Jonas was about to walk away however, he paused when he noticed the shimmering pendant resting on Caroline's chest. "You…" he stared at it stupefied and wonderstruck when he felt the strong magic from it. "…Sáõ." He didn't expect to see an extraordinarily rare species in his lifetime. His heart squeeze in agony and sadness when he remembered how much his son wanted to meet a beautiful creature. Luka was a strong believer that Sáõ is real, unlike any other witches who think was just a myth. 'My boy was right.' His eyes are teary when he realizes that he gets to see such a wonderful creature that actually exists. Right in front of him. And his baby boy didn't get a chance to meet one.

Kol snapped his head at the warlock suspiciously while Caroline lifted her hand to cover her shiny pendant warily. "H-how did you?" the blonde-haired beauty step back, with caution.

Suddenly, everything happened at once. Caroline was grabbed and pulled away at a safe distance. Alaric quickly yet gently pushed Jenna toward the exit of the doors. Elena and Stefan search through the crowd for a warlock. Bonnie jogged toward Jonas anxious.

"Harper?" Caroline gasped in surprise to see the soldier vampire who stood protectively in front of her. Kol is relieved now that his vampire is safe.

Harper growls softly at the warlock warningly. Jonas just stares at him blankly then tipped his head. "Protect her." The warlock said, gravely. The soldier vampire eyed Jonas for a brief moment then tip his head and acknowledged. Harper immediately grabbed Caroline's wrist not unkindly and vamp-speed her out of the Grill. Kol curses loudly, knowing he is going to blackout. "Ah… motherfuc—" he passed out as his transparent body vanished.

Jonas turned around and stopped when Bonnie reached for him with apprehension and edgy. "Dr. Martin!" the Bennett witch pulled her shoulders back and lifted her chin with confidence yet there was fear in her eyes. "Please… please calm down."

The warlock narrowed his eyes at her. "I will not calm down until I have her." Bonnie instantly knew who he is talking about.

"Don't do this. Please don't do this." The petite witch protest, desiring to protect her best friend.

Jonas closed his eyes as the bottles on the counters and shelves are shattered into million pieces which panicked the crowd. And the fire ignites from the counter and tables. Everyone immediately rushes out of the Grill while screaming and shouting frightened and scared.

"No!" Bonnie attempted to stop him, however, Jonas turned around and placed his palm on her forehead. The petite witch rolled her eyes back and falls to the floor, unconscious. Unknowingly that an angry and sorrowful warlock passed something confidential to her.

The secret that will change Bonnie's world.
