Mystic Falls
Town Square
Mid-June of Summer
A lot happened at the beginning of the summer. Ever since Bonnie Bennett learned the truth about Kol's existence as a cursed ghost that is stuck to Caroline. And everything that Caroline has been through in her life. Let's just say, there were involved a lot of tears, yelling, a bit of fang emerging, and a bit of magic crackle, and finally… they hug in the end.
Kol stayed back and watched the drama unfold in front of him as he knew two best friends had to deal with their own problems.
The transparent Original couldn't help but admire how strong the friendship between the vampire and the witch share. After Bonnie knew the truth, Caroline knew the truth as well. They both promised to never hide from each other ever again.
And now, it's the doppelgänger's birthday and Caroline brought a few necessary items for the birthday party. Kol is walking next to his vampire with his hands shoved in his front pockets while scanning in surroundings of a nice sunny warm day in the Town Square.
The blonde-haired beauty striding down the path as she is in the middle of talking to Elena through the earpiece. "—shopping for the party you're trying to bail out on." She said with a knowing smile.
"Still don't know why you want to celebrate that annoying bitch's birthday." Kol grumbled, bitter. He doesn't care that Caroline wants to cheer the doppelgänger up because Stefan sacrificed himself to go with his paranoid stupid brother. Elena Gilbert has been upset since then.
Boo-hoo. Just move on already.
"You were never going to which is why I planned it anyway." Caroline jerked the stray of her hair away from her face while avoiding the bystanders with a friendly smile. "And my mom wants you to call her."
The blonde-haired beauty adjusted the strings of bags into her elbows. "An animal attack in Memphis. It's the third one this week in Tennessee." She informed Elena through the earpiece phone, calmly.
Kol rolled his eyes with exasperation. He is long used to this whenever Caroline mentions her mother who has intel about the possibility of where Stefan's location is to Elena.
Caroline reached her car where she parked while Kol muttered unintelligibly under his breath. "Yes, but that doesn't mean that it's Klaus." She said with a realistic reminder while unlocking the trunk of her car, placing all the bags inside while Kol easily slipped into the passenger's seat of the car.
The blonde-haired beauty shut the trunk, step around to the driver's door, pulled it open, and climbed into the driver's seat. "Well call her on her cell." She put her purse in the backseat and leaned back against the car seat. "All right. I'll see you in a bit. Oh and? Wear something pretty." Caroline hung up by pressing the button on her earpiece. "Poor Elena… searching for Stefan nonstop without a break is not healthy." She muttered, worried about her brunette's best friend.
"More like obsession." The Prince Original commented, indifferently. He doesn't care about the doppelgänger's feelings whatsoever.
Caroline hummed softly, agreeing with her ghost friend. "It is kind of like she is obsessive over Stefan." She made a dramatic grimace face which made Kol amused.

"I'm just saying, Elena has been obsessing over Stefan for like half of the summer, nearly two months. She needs a break." Caroline said as she was driving her car while talking to a Bluetooth call from the screen in her car. Kol silently admired the newest technology that allowed the car to connect to Caroline's smartphone.
"You know how much she loves him, Care." Bonnie's voice was heard.
The transparent wild Original rolled his eyes while Caroline exhaled softly. "I know, I know. It's just… she needs a break." She mumbled then shakes her head. "Whatever. Anyways, it's suck that you can't be at the party." She pouted childishly.
Bonnie chuckled softly heard from the screen. "Yeah, but my dad wants me to spend time with his family even though it's like wet paint that never dries kind of boring." Kol's lip twitched with amusement.
"But you are studying, right?" Caroline asked as she turned her steering wheel to change her car into the corner of the street. The Prince Original straightened up with interest.
"Yes. I am studying my ancestor's grimoire. Emily sure has some very scary spells."
"There are many dangerous and nasty spells, but I do hope that you didn't test them out on your own." Kol said with a warning frown on his face.
Caroline tilted her head thoughtfully when she heard some words from her ghost friend. "Did you try the spell?"
Bonnie made negative noises. "No. I recalled that your ghost told you that I shouldn't do nasty spells…repeatedly." An exasperated tone in her voice.
Kol nods his head satisfied that the tiny witch is listening to his warning. Good.
"Good. But did you try any spells, though?" the blonde-haired beauty gently halted her car when the red spotlight appeared in the street. Her fingers lightly drummed against the steering wheels out of habit.
"I did a few easy spells, like bringing the flowers back to life. Manipulate fires. And even a basic healing spell." The Bennett witch explained with a hint of excitement.
The transparent Original hummed with content. It's better to start with small and simple spells. This way, it will build up magic energy for Bonnie. The more she practices, the easier it is for her to use the spell later on. He knew that Bonnie has potential. Plus, a Bennett witch is naturally a fast learner when it comes to magic. "Good. Good. Keep doing what you're doing."
"Sounds like Kol's approved." Caroline chimed happily and pushed the gas pedal when the red light shifted to green light.
"Glad to know I got the infamous Mikaelson's approval." A tone of sarcasm was heard from Bonnie. Kol's lips turned to a sharp dry smirk. Bonnie isn't a big fan of Kol because of two reasons.
One is that Bonnie learned that Kol is an infamous wild and dangerous Prince Original.
Two is that Kol Mikaelson is a hard-ass tough and strict mentor.
Caroline chuckled softly. "But at least you have a mentor." She reminded her witch best friend, cheerily. The blonde-haired beauty is very happy when Kol is willing to teach Bonnie how to be a proper witch. Plus, she likes that Bonnie and Kol are getting along.
Somewhat.
More like, tolerant of each other.
Ahead of her, she could see Salvatore's building which made Kol scowl bitterly. He doesn't understand why the stupid doppelgänger wants to celebrate her birthday in the soon-to-be-dead vampire's household.
"I'm about couple minutes away from the Salvatore Boarding House. I'll call you later?" Caroline informed her witch best friend, happily calm.
"Of course. Talk to you later, Care."
The best friends exchanged their pleasant farewell and the blonde-haired beauty hung up.

Meanwhile…
A man walked inside the bar with a warm smile. He raised his hand at the bartender who greeted him familiarly. "Hey Red, get me a beer." Ray said, politely.
He stood at the bar and thanked his friend who handed him a new cold beer. Ray grabbed it as a British handsome man appeared at his side. "Ray? Ray Sutton?" Klaus questioned, just to clarify.
"Who wants to know?" the man asked, curious as he lifted his bottle of beer to his lips.
Klaus' lips twitch with a satisfied smirk. "I've been looking everywhere for you. We started in Florida, Pensacola. I met a young chap there who you used to work with before you moved to Memphis—" Ray slowly put his guard up while lowering his bottle of beer down. "—now he directed me to two lovely young women. And they led me here, to you." The hybrid explained, happily.
"I think I'll be going." Ray pushed himself away from the bar with an alert in his eyes. Just as he was about to leave, Klaus stopped him with a warning smirk.
"Not so fast mate. You only just got here, now your type is very hard to come by."
Ray quickly turned around to escape but was stopped by a vampire who stood behind him. "I wouldn't do that."
A cursed werewolf eyeing the Salvatore vampire warily and a hint of knowledge glints in his eyes. "You… you're Stefan Salvatore." He stated which surprises the vampire and the hybrid.
"You know him?" Klaus questioned with suspicious eyes on Ray, yet he is asking Stefan.
Stefan's eyebrows furrowed deeply as he frowns. "No." he replied, simply. He doesn't recognize this werewolf at all. Klaus could see the truth.
The werewolf's lips pressed together contemplatively for a brief moment. "I've heard of you. Stories about you."
"How so?" Klaus questioned, interested.
Ray leaned back on the bar cautiously while keeping his eyes on Stefan and Klaus. "…my mother told me."
"And who is your mother?" The hybrid wondered if the werewolf's mother has a history with Stefan. The young vampire frowned deeply, unsure and suspicious.
The werewolf cleared his throat. "Lexi." He simply replied shocked Stefan while Klaus tilted his head, neutral and curious.
Stefan didn't know what to think about this sudden information. His best friend, Lexi was this werewolf's mother?

Later…
Kol rolls his eyes in exasperation as he leans against the wall with his arms crossed. He has been listening to the doppelgänger's complaining nonstop ever since he and Caroline arrived at this place.
"—feel like I have to fight Damon every single time we get a lead on Stefan." Elena complained while taking napkins from Caroline who handed them to her.
"Oh bloody hell woman." The transparent Original growls under his breath, tired of hearing this same complaint for nearly the entire summer.
The blonde-haired beauty grabbed the paper plates from the box and put them on the table quietly, listening to the brunette's whining, as she is used to it.
"I just—I don't understand why he kept doing this to me. I want to find Stefan." Elena huffed with irritation while putting down napkins on the table. "I know Damon wants to find Stefan since we both learned that Stefan left with Klaus in return, save Damon's life."
"We know that for the umpteenth time, doppelgänger." Kol wishes he could just grab a fucking duct tape and a rope to shut this annoying woman up and trap her in the basement for an entire week.
Caroline's lips twitch when she heard her ghost friend's words with mirth in her blue-green eyes. She turned around, walked forward, and picked up a box full of alcohol. The blonde-haired beauty moved it to place it on the ground near the table.
Elena childishly dropped a stack of paper cups on the table. "Is it really wrong of me wanna find Stefan and bring him back home?" she lowered her doe-shaped eyes down, sadly.
Kol groaned as he tipped his head back. "So bloody dramatic…" he is so grateful that his vampire is not a clingy dramatic type of person.
"Elena…" Caroline's eyes soften, worried and sympathetic. She walked around the table and wrapped her arms around the brunette. "…I miss Stefan too. He is a good friend and it's sucked that Klaus took him—" "Knowing that bastard, he has a plan." "—but I know for a fact that Stefan wouldn't want you to worry on your birthday." She leaned forward to make eye contact with Elena. "How about you take a break from this investigating stuff and focus on celebrating your birthday? Just for tonight?"
The brunette stared at the vampire for a moment then nodded her head. "Alright."
A satisfied proud smile appeared on Caroline's face. "Good!" She dropped her arms and focused on decorating for the birthday party.
The sound of the phone beeps caught others' attention. Elena quickly grabbed her phone from her pocket and glanced at the caller ID. "I missed a call from Bonnie. I'll be right back." She steps out of the room which made Kol suspicious while Caroline frown with confusion but shrugs her shoulders, indifferently.
The Prince Original glanced over at his darling girl for a brief moment then followed the brunette doppelgänger with his usual nosey curiosity.
Normally, Elena wouldn't leave the room if it involved Bonnie. The three of them are best friends and never hid anything from each other.
Whatever Elena has to say to Bonnie. Bonnie will tell Caroline. Whatever Elena has to say to Caroline. Caroline will tell Bonnie. It has become a habit ever since the witch and the vampire promised to tell each other the truth before the summer began.
In a different room, Elena called the witch with her phone. Kol steps closer shamelessly snooping. "Bonnie? Hey, sorry I missed your call. Did you find anything about Stefan?" The transparent Original made an exasperated face at her.
"Bloody hell, woman. It's a good thing that boring vampire dumped your clingy arse." He muttered, incredulity with how this crazy doppelgänger is so obsessed with the young Salvatore vampire.
Kol whirled around and instantly return to his darling vampire before the annoying minger doppelgänger made him lose more of his sanity.

Meanwhile…
Stefan paced back and forth while rubbing his lips with his hand, contemplatively. Ray is sitting on the stool quietly with caution in his eyes and stiff shoulders.
Klaus is leaning his side against the bar while twirling a bottle of beer in his hand with boredom. "Well?" he stated, impatiently for the Salvatore vampire to answer him.
"…Lexi is my best friend." Stefan replied, reluctant to the hybrid who raised his eyebrow with interest sparks in his blue eyes. The young vampire shifted his gaze to the cursed werewolf with perplexity. "And she's a vampire. You're a werewolf." He doesn't understand how this is possible.
Ray frowned at him. "It's called adoption. Ever heard of it?" he retorts with a bit of snarky which amuses Klaus.
"Does she know you're a werewolf?" Stefan steps forward, daring him to lie. The young vampire refuses to let this dog fool his best friend.
The werewolf huffed out in disbelief. "Do you really think I could hide being a werewolf once a month when she adopted me when I was seven?" he snapped, not liking the young vampire's tone. Klaus' spines are straightened up with fascination and curiosity by this new information.
"Now that is certainly informative." The Original Hybrid speaks up with intrigue. "How did you ever get yourself triggered at the age of seven, Ray?"
Ray scowled heavily as he lowered his gaze to the ground. "…it was self-defense. An abusive asshole was going to kill me."
Klaus leaned forward. "Who." He watched with a bit of attentiveness when he noticed Ray's body still. A flash of golden flickers in the werewolf's eyes briefly. It made Klaus' known that this werewolf is aware of his species.
An Alpha.
"…my father." Ray spat, disgustingly at the thought of his dead father. Stefan closed his eyes and looked away silently.
Suddenly, Klaus feels a bit of understanding for this cursed werewolf. "And this Lexi, adopted you? A vampire?" Ray nodded his head in response. "You know, your kind is very hard to find. Eventually, I would find them. However, you, Ray Sutton, are unique. Maybe you are meant to be my second-in-command."
The werewolf lifted his gaze at Klaus warily.
Klaus' lips lifted with a sharp smirk. "I'm something else, a different kind of monster. I've got some vampire; I've got some wolf." He watches the werewolf's eyes light up with awareness. "A hybrid. I want to create more of me. You will be my second-in-command and I need you to direct me to your pack. So, where can I find them, Ray?"
Ray frowns deeply. "…I don't know."
The Original Hybrid's smirk fell with an angry glint in his eyes. "Do not lie to me, Ray." He warned the werewolf. Stefan turned his head to Ray blankly.
"I wish it was a lie." The werewolf admits sadly as his shoulders slump. "Unfortunately, my pack kicked me out a few moons ago."
Klaus stares at Ray for a moment as his fingers curled into tight fists. "Why is that, Ray?"
"They found out that my adopted mother is a vampire. Not exactly happy with that." Ray displayed his humorless smile. "Doesn't give a shit that my mother accepted their kind. They always believe that werewolves and vampires are enemies. My mother taught me that what matters is who you are, not what you are."
The Original Hybrid hummed. "She sounds like a very lovely and wise woman." Ray nodded his head as he agreed with Klaus while Stefan eyed them warily. "Is it possible you will tell me the latest location of where your former pack gathers for the full moon?"
"Yeah." Ray nods his head, and willingly answers which surprises the hybrid and vampire.
Klaus raised his eyebrow suspiciously. "Just like that?" He was not used to easy answers.
The werewolf chuckled dryly. "They nearly kill my mother." His eyes darken at the thought that his former pack almost murder his vampire mother. Stefan flinched with worry and anger for his best friend.
"Ah…" Klaus understood.
Why stay with people who nearly kill your loved ones?
No wonder Ray is willing.

Later…
Kol silently mourns. He desperately wants to drink alcohol. It's been nearly a century since he has tasted spicy whiskey. The wild Original sighed forlornly while watching the amount of free alcohol everywhere on the large table. At least he gets to enjoy an eyeful of his beautiful vampire. He shifted his gaze over to the blonde-haired beauty who dressed up very lovely in his biased opinion.
Caroline is wearing a black strap dress that reaches above her knees, a Tree of Life necklace, and black wedges. Simple yet gorgeous. She is animatedly chatting with a few of her peers while holding a red cup.
The blonde-haired beauty glanced around until she spotted Elena and Damon. "Oh, excuse me." Caroline excused herself politely with a friendly smile. She quickly maneuvered her way through the crowd toward her certain target.
Kol easily walks through wild teenagers while making faces. It felt so weird. Once he reached close to his vampire, Caroline speaks to her brunette best friend with excitement. "You like?" Elena stared at the crowd stunned. "Don't answer that." Caroline added after she saw Elena's expression.
"Ungrateful twat." Kol mumbled, send disapproval glare at the doppelgänger.
Elena scoffed in disbelief. "This is keeping it small?" Caroline just smiles widely, showing her white teeth brightly which caught Kol's attention. "…what are we drinking?" Elena accepted without putting up any complaint.
Caroline squealed happily as she held up her arm with a bit of dramatic while ignoring Damon's existence the entire time. Elena loops her arm into Caroline's and they both start walking through the room. Kol sends his usual death threat at the soon-to-be-dead vampire before he followed his vampire.
After Caroline gave a red cup to Elena. They both walked around in the large house for a while, chatting and enjoying the music playing in the background.
When they reached another room, Caroline made a noise from the back of her throat. "Matt!" she greeted her friend cheerily.
Matt turned around while his arm was around Amber's shoulders. They both stride toward them with content smiles on their faces. "Hey!" The Quarterback jock leaned forward to peck Elena's cheek who was startled a bit. "Happy Birthday."
"Thank you." Elena smiled gently at him then turned her gaze to Amber. "Hi, Amber." Amber waves shyly in response.
Matt throws his thumb over his shoulder. "By the way, your bother… I think he's upset?" he informed Elena with concern.
"What? What do you mean?"
The blonde-haired jock half-shrug, unsure. "I'm not sure. He's at the stoner den."
"Oh, thank you. I'm going to see him." Elena handed the red cup to Caroline who easily grabbed it not unkindly. They watched Elena walk forward to another room where the stoners hang out.
Caroline turned her head to Matt and Amber with a playful smirk. Kol stands next to her with intrigue and curious sparks in his dark gaze, wondering what his vampire is up to. "So… Matt told me how he asked you to be his girlfriend by the falls under the moon and stars." She said to Amber, cheerily with a bit of harmless teasing.
"Oh my…" Amber touches her red cheek with her free hand while Matt rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "…yes. He did. It was very romantic." The blonde-haired girl giggled happily.
Caroline nearly cooed at these two adorable couples while Kol hummed indifferently, already knowing this information since he was always with her. Whatever information and juicy gossip Caroline have, Kol already knew.
After a while of a nice chat, Caroline excused herself and quickly hurriedly her way ascends the stairs while the transparent Original followed closely.
When the blonde-haired beauty stepped inside the bedroom that belonged to Damon. Caroline wrinkles her nose with distastefulness while Kol grumbles, not wanting to be in the arsehole's room. Unfortunately, Damon put some blood bags in his room just in case they needed blood during the party.
Caroline is starting to get thirsty so, she ambled her way toward the bathroom and saw an ice chest. She bends down, opens the lid, and grabs her favorite blood bag. Kol leaned his shoulder against the wall while watching his vampire stand on her feet.
The wild and unpredictable Original likes watching Caroline drinking the blood without any shame. It made him proud and adored of her. Liking the fact that Caroline is very accepting of herself as a vampire.
Caroline's head jerked up when she heard footsteps in the room. "This room's off limits!" She hid the blood bag behind her, walking out of the bathroom with a strict face.
Kol quickly moved and saw Elena who turned around in surprise. "Caroline?"
The blonde-haired beauty smiles in relief. "Sorry…" she showed the brunette the blood bag. "I'm getting thirsty." Elena nods her head with understanding. Caroline tilted her head with a puzzling smile. "Are you hiding?" she asked, suspicious with a hint of playfulness.
"I was just looking for Damon." Elena admitted which made Kol make a bitter face while Caroline's lips pressed together.
"Oh." Caroline wishes her best friend hates Damon just like her, but alas, she knew that Elena has soft spots for Damon. "Well, anyways… the cake is almost ready." She said, excited while semi-dancing with her blood bag in her hands.
Kol watches her with affection and fondness.
Elena released a weak chuckle. "…I think I'm gonna pass on the whole cake thing."
Caroline's enthusiastic face changed to crestfallen while she paused her semi-dancing. "Why?" she asked, disappointedly. She lowered her blood bag with furrowed eyebrows while Kol glares at the bitch doppelgänger who put a sad frown on his vampire's face.
"I'm just not feeling it. Sorry." The brunette half-shrug with an apologetic smile. "But thank you for this amazing party." She placed her hand on Caroline's shoulder. "I'm going home. Been a long day for me." Elena patted her best friend's shoulder a couple of times then dropped back to her side.
"Ungrateful twat." The transparent Original spat while glowering at the rude bitch. Caroline has been planning Elena's eighteenth birthday party for a month and brought tons of shit to decorate and stuff for the party since early this morning. Is this the thanks Caroline is going to get from her own so-called best friend?
Kol felt so offended on his darling vampire's behalf.
The blonde-haired beauty rubbed her thumb against the cold blood bag with a disappointed frown and slightly hurt flash in her blue-green eyes.
"What?" Elena's whisper caught Caroline's ears.
Caroline lifted her gaze over to her best friend who was standing in front of the walk-in closet. The blonde-haired beauty sauntered toward her as Kol walks beside her.
"What's all that?" Caroline voiced out with curiosity while Kol leaned forward with intrigue.
There are notes, maps and articles taped all over the walls and door. There are many cutout articles, such as one of the mentions about "Body Discovered at Drive-In" and even post-it notes with names such as "Stefan" and "Neck wounds" and so on that are seen to the world.
Kol easily found the names on the notes. "Ah, it seems that arsehole has been keeping tabs on broody vampire and bastard brother of mine for months. Without you." Kol cheerfully added the last part while easily memories the information.
"It's Klaus." Elena gritted her teeth. "Damon's been tracking him without me."
Caroline raises her eyebrow at her with questioning sparks in her blue-green eyes. "Why wouldn't he just tell you?"
The doppelgänger took a breather as displeased, and indignation swelled inside of her. "I don't know."
Kol gently feathers light touches Caroline's shoulder with his fingers. Caroline barely controls her shivers when she felt his icy-cold touch. She lifted her blood bag. "Well… I'm going to drink this and return to the party." The blonde-haired beauty doesn't want to be involved with the soon-to-be-drama between Elena and Damon.
"Smart idea, darling." The transparent ghost approved. Not wanting his darling girl to get involved with the soon-to-be-dead vampire. Nope. Not happening.
Once he returns his body back in the real world, he will make sure that Damon Fucking Salvatore not going anywhere near Caroline. Not in his eternal life.

"So, what do you say?" Klaus waited for the werewolf to answer his offer.
Ray stares at the wall from a distance for a moment. Klaus has explained his plan to the werewolf and offers to change him into a hybrid. Ray honestly thought it was a very nice offer. He won't have to worry about the indescribable pain once a month, change into a wolf anytime he wants, and have forever with his family.
However, he is hesitant. "…I… I want to but… I need to talk with my mother." It's a very big decision and it won't only impact his life but also his adoptive mother as well.
The British man hummed thoughtfully. "How about this then. We exchange numbers. You go talk with your lovely mother and when you get the answer, call me. I still want you to be my second-in-command." Klaus said, with a generous offer.
"…okay." Ray nodded his head, accepted.
A pleased smirk appeared on Klaus' face. "Excellent."
After a few minutes later exchanged numbers and light conversation between the Original Hybrid and his future second-in-command. Stefan arrived at the bar emotionlessly.
"You're back." Klaus comment, calmly while Ray sips his cold beer with a contemplative glint in his eyes.
Stefan nods his head. "Did you doubt me?"
"Not for a second." The Original Hybrid smirked while crossing his arms. "I knew you'd pass the test. You still care for your brother, for your old life."
The young vampire shakes his head. "Nah, I don't care about anything anymore." Ray glanced at him with skepticism while Klaus huffed out humorlessly.
"You put on a good show, Stefan. I almost believe you." Klaus pats Stefan's shoulder with a warning face. "Let's hope, for your brother's sake, he does. You never stop caring about family, do you? But, every time you feed, the blood makes it easier to let go." He dropped his hand, and a twisted smirk displayed on his face. "Now, I believe we might have a possible location of where Ray's former pack was. I think I might know some area they are staying for the full moon."
The Original Hybrid turned around to face Ray. "I'll see you soon, Ray Sutton."
Ray lifted his cold bottle of beer at him. "Soon." He promised, after he will talk with his mother. He glanced at Stefan. "I'll tell her you said hi."
The young Salvatore stared at him blankly then turned away.

Later…
The blonde-haired beauty steps forward down the long road while Kol shoves his hands in his front pockets. A large silver moon shines upon the land in the middle of the night. Most of the teenagers left the party.
Caroline is extremely pleased that the party tonight is successful. She throws her keys back and forth in her hands while humming cheerily. The wild Original glanced at her with affection twinkle in his dark gaze.
When she arrived at the car that she parked. Kol is eager to get in and have a chat with Caroline. After all, it's their thing to always have a conversation in the car. It's one of Kol's favorite things to do with his darling vampire.
The blonde-haired beauty extends her hand to the door handle of her car. Her fingers instantly burned, and she jerked away in pain. "Darling!" Kol quickly runs to her side and his eyes widen in horror when he saw her fingers are covered with ugly red blisters. "Vervain?!"
Suddenly, Caroline falls to her knees as Kol quickly drops down, frantic over her, and noticed a vervain dart bullet injected into her back. "Caroline!"
Out of nowhere, two more darts hit her back. The blonde-haired beauty falls on the floor, lying unconscious on her side against the rough pavement. "What the bloody hell is going on?!" the transparent ghost snapped furiously with a hint of fear in his eyes.
The sound of heels slapping against the road. He whirled his head around and saw a woman step into the moonlight with a blank face.
Kol's eyes darkened with recognition as he snarled wrathfully while his body trembled with unexplainable anger. "You fucking bitch!"
The dart gun lowered to reveal her face, the Mayor of Mystic Falls, Carol Lockwood.
