Guest Bedroom
Midnight
The moonlight shines through the open curtains of a window, illuminating the bedroom as a sleeping figure tosses and turns into her bed. Her eyes rapidly move behind her eyelids, beads of sweat drip from her hairline, and her heart skips so fast. On her wrist, a talisman bracelet was pulsing with power. Fingers dug into the sheet as a discomfort frown displayed on her face.

Bonnie snapped her eyes open wide as she sat up while her hair flew all over her face. "Caroline." She barely whispers in distress. Her body trembles so hard. The Bennett witch tried to calm but the overwhelming emotions are exploding inside of her.
She is petrified.
The petite witch has a bad feeling, and something happened to her vampire best friend. She whirled her head around, climbed over to the nightstand, and grabbed her cell. Bonnie fumbled around her phone, quickly pressed the speed dial, and pressed it in her ear.
"Come on, come on, come on." She repeated the words impatiently as her body was still trembling. Her olive-green orbs dart down at the talisman bracelet that is connected to Caroline. At least she knew that blonde-haired beauty is alive, but something is wrong. "Damn it." She gritted her teeth frustratedly when Caroline didn't answer.
Bonnie dropped her cell on the bed, stumbled out of the bed messily, and quickly grabbed her luggage out of the closet. She needs to leave and return to Mystic Falls.
Her best friend needs her.

Lockwood Mansion
Morning…
Carol pours herself a glass of scotch calmly and sets it aside. Her gaze stared down at the syringe of vervain, she picked it up and examined it. The mayor strode to the small coffee bar while sipping her scotch. When she put her glass of alcohol down and opened the lid of a coffee pot. Carol put some vervain inside as fast as she could and then put the empty syringe in one of the random drawers.
Just in time, her son arrived and greeted her warmly. "Hey, mom."
Mrs. Lockwood lifted her glass of scotch with a maternal smile. "Morning, sweetheart." She steps back while Tyler grabbed a coffee pot and a mug. "Coffee's hot." She warned him gently.
"Rough night?" Tyler questioned with curiosity, before he glanced at the glass in his mother's hand. He pours the coffee into his mug.
Carol taps her fingers against the glass of scotch with a weak smile. "Uh, rough week. I'm a little stressed." She carefully set the drink down on the coffee table. "You?" She watches her son add a few things to his coffee mug.
"Feeling pretty good." Tyler shrugs his shoulders and prepares to walk out but Caroline stopped him.
"You know—" Mrs. Lockwood step forward with her arms crossed and raised an eyebrow. "—if you're going to bring a girl home, I wish she'd have the tact to not sneak out like a prostitute."
Her son half-smiled at her sheepishly. "I'm sorry." Carol nods her head, accepting his apology. "Lauren snuck out?"
Carol hummed which made Tyler just nod his head, indifferently. The mayor watches her son take a sip of coffee with her breath held.
"Whoa." Tyler lowered the coffee mug and stared at it in astonished disgust. "I think the cream's bad." He made a face, and put the mug on the coffee bar down. Unaware, his mother released her breath in relief and happiness.
Her son half-jogs to her, pecks her on the cheek, and smiles. "Don't wait up tonight." Tyler walked out while the mayor waited for a moment.
When she heard the entrance door shut. Carol sighed with relief, sadness, and resolution. She is extremely grateful that her son is not a vampire. However, her heart is filled with sadness for the Forbes family who lost their daughter.
The mayor took out her cell from her pocket, dial the numbers that she memorizes, and placed it on her ear. She turned around and noticed the reflection in the mirror. A sad and sympathetic spark in her blue eyes. "Bill, it's, um, Carol Lockwood." She feels so bad for him. "I've gotten myself into a bit of a vampire situation."

Woods
Meanwhile…
A beautiful large semi-white tree with silver cherry blossoms that shimmer in the sunlight. The soldier vampire is sitting in front of the tree, legs crossed and palms resting on his knees. His eyes are closed, feeling the energy above him.
Harper truly enjoys his peaceful moment alone with the one-of-a-kind tree that his pseudo-sister planted centuries ago. He could easily hear the branches swing as if dancing. Just like Emmanuella who loved to dance.
The soldier vampire knew that he would have to leave to check on Lady Caroline and her mother soon. It's been nearly a week since he left Mystic Falls. He was pleased and relieved when he learned that Bonnie Bennett is finally taking her role to stay close to the [SAO] as it is in her blood to do so.
Suddenly, the branches stopped dancing. Harper opens his eyes with puzzlement as he knows this special tree never stops dancing unless something troubles it. "What is wrong?" he asked, politely to the tree.
A few of the branches started to hurdle together as if hugging each other, stiff and tense. As in, they are frightened. One of the branches shifted out and pointed in the direction of the woods.
Harper frowned deeply with a concerned glint in his eyes. He followed his gaze to where the branch was pointed at. He carefully uses his superior hearing for suspicious noise.
It's silent. Which means the tree isn't telling him about these woods.
Emmanuella's tree is telling him something.
And it causes the dread to creep inside of him.

Later…
The doorbell rang and alerted the mayor, who immediately answered. A relief and uneasiness appeared on her face when she saw him. "Thank you so much for coming." She stepped back, allowing Bill Forbes to walk inside her house. "Does anyone else know you're here?"
Bill shakes his head. "No. I didn't drive through town." Carol shut the door quietly and strode down the path to another room with apprehension and anxiety. "I came straight here."
"Can I offer you a drink?" Mrs. Lockwood offered while gently playing with her pearl necklace. Bill followed her into the lounge room. She honestly doesn't know how to tell him about his daughter who is dead.
"I think you should tell me what you expect me to do." The man said, indifferently. He watches the mayor grab a clear crystal glass, grabbed a scotch bottle, and pour herself a drink.
Carol cleared her throat. "I was hoping you could tell me." She turned around and stared at Bill who raised his questioning eyebrows at her. "It's Caroline, Bill." Mrs. Lockwood decided to get straight to the point. "I remember the day she was born." She said, pity for the man who looked gutted.
Bill's fingers curled into tight fists at his side. "What does the rest of the council know?"
Mrs. Lockwood shook her head, denying. "I haven't said a word. I've been putting this together on my own for months now. Any ideas how to handle this?" She just couldn't believe that a very sweet girl was gone. "I can't get my hands dirty here for a lot of reasons."
"How did you find out?"
Carol briefly recalled when she accidentally saw Caroline lift a grown drunk man away from the street at the beginning of the summer. It was impossible. She doesn't want to believe that a smart and beautiful girl like Caroline is gone. However, she couldn't stop thinking unless she tested it out. To see the real evidence.
When she sprays the vervains on the door handle of Caroline's car. The second that Caroline touched it; the mayor knew that Caroline was dead. Carol instantly tranquilized her with vervain darts last night. "She showed her superior strength. I knew Caroline isn't physically strong." Carol answered, staring down at the bottle of scotch blankly.
"She's a vampire." Bill stated coldly and he narrowed his eyes at the mayor contemplatively. "Does Liz know?"
Mrs. Lockwood shakes her head. "No…" she couldn't bring herself to tell Liz.
The man just nods his head, understanding. "I will take care of it."

Meanwhile…
Sheriff Forbes steps toward the entrance door while holding her smartphone to her ear. She pulled out her house key from her Sheriff jacket's pocket and inserted her key in the lock. When her daughter didn't answer, she opened her mouth to leave a voicemail message for Caroline.
"Caroline." Liz locked the door with a hint of happiness in her tone. "It's mom. Just coming up for air after a few all-nighters at the station. I thought we'd have lunch, and you could remind me I promised not to work so hard." She opened the door, and stepped inside while observing the inside of her house.
"Call me back when you get this message, okay? Love you." The Sheriff of Mystic Falls dropped the keys into the bowl lazily. She lowered her phone and hung up with a gentle smile on her face.
Ever since she learned that her daughter is truly Caroline. Liz spends as much free time as she can with Caroline. She tries her best to be a mother to her daughter.
And it was the best moment for her.
Liz can't wait to spend more time with her daughter. 'I need to take a hot shower.' She hummed to herself, preparing to have a nice long hot shower.

Later…
Ray leaned heavily on his dark-navy truck while staring at the clear blue sky for a thoughtful moment. A phone is twirling around in his hands out of habit. He could faintly see the full moon that will transpire tonight.
The werewolf stopped playing with his phone, lifted his cell, dial the numbers, and put on a speaker. After the first ring, it answered.
"Ray?" a feminine voice called out with worry. "Is everything alright?"
A soft smile appeared on his face. "Hey ma." He greeted his adoptive mother. "I'm fine, just wanna check on ya."
Lexi hummed suspiciously. "I am fine. Doing some last minute shopping for the chains. Again." She huffed exasperatedly yet hinted of fondness.
"He broke the chain again? Didn't Lee buy custom silver chains?" the werewolf questioned, curious.
"Yeah, he did. Turned out, that Lockwood werewolf is crazily strong. Lee is pissed off." Lexi informed with amusement. Ray chuckled softly, knowing how much Lee despised wasting expensive shit. "But seriously, Ray. What is wrong?"
Ray knew he couldn't avoid it since his mother knew him too much. After all, she did raise him when he was seven. Nearly twenty years. "…I met Klaus." He blunted, straight to the point.
Lexi's breath hitched. "What? What happened? Are you okay? Are you hurt? What's going on?" she burst out with questions, fretting.
"Mom, mom! Please calm down! I'm okay, ma!" Ray assures his fussing mother, knowing how overprotective she is when it comes to him. "He didn't hurt me. I am fine. We just talked."
"Talk?" Lexi's voice shifted warily. "About what?"
The werewolf observed his surroundings at the calm scenery view that he parked his trunk near the large empty field. "He offered me to become part of his pack. But in order to do that, I have to become a hybrid."
Lexi made a questioning noise through the speaker in response.
Ray explains further. "Klaus seems to be really interested in me becoming his second-in-command."
"Why?" his mother asked with suspicion.
The cursed werewolf briefly recalled that he explained his short history of how he triggered his curse at the age of seven. He remembered how Klaus looked understanding and sympathetic when he mentioned his abusive father. Ray silently wondered if, maybe, the Original Hybrid might have a terrible relationship with his father.
Which means that Klaus would want to find someone who could understand him.
"I have a theory." Ray muttered, thoughtfully. 'If that theory is true, I cannot help but feel sympathy for him.' He mused, in incredulity. It was hard to believe that he might have some understanding of the infamous and dangerous Original Hybrid.
Ray has heard stories about Originals, thanks to his mother.
"Plus, Stefan Salvatore is with him." The werewolf added, bluntly.
"…excuse me, what!?" Lexi shouted in astonished shock.

Hidden Cellar
Meanwhile…
Kol is cursing up a storm nonstop while running his long fingers through his hair messily. His dark gaze shifted to his unconscious vampire. Ever since two humans grabbed Caroline from the back of the trunk that Mayor Lockwood put her in last night. Two humans just took Caroline to a different location and trapped her in one of the old prison cells.
The transparent Original doesn't recognize this prison cell which he assumed was added a century or two ago.
Right now, Caroline is tied to a chair, facing the door of a cell that has a barred window in it.
Kol has a very bad feeling about this. He doesn't like this fucking situation at all. The unpredictable Original feels so useless as he couldn't do anything but wait for his vampire to wake up. How he wishes he could figure out how to tap whatever ghost power to unlock the heavy metal cuffs that are tied her wrists onto the handle of the chair.
"Darling… please wake up." Kol steps closer to the blonde-haired beauty, pleading with her to regain consciousness before it's too late.
After a moment, Caroline moves her head and a strange noise was heard from the back of her throat. Kol perked up with relief and anxiety. "Open your eyes, sweetheart." He urges her to hurry.
The blonde-haired beauty gently lifted her head, strays of her hair covering half of her face, as her eyelids open halfway. A discomfort groan released from her lips when she weakly tugs the metal cuffs.
A sharp hiss when she felt the burn on her wrists. The wild Original instantly knew that the cuffs are vervains which means Caroline can't break them off. "Bullocks!" Kol curses under his breath.
Caroline scrutinized her surrounding with conflict of fright and confusion. "…what…" she whispered as her undead heart sank further in her stomach with apprehension. "What's happening? Kol?" Caroline called out to her ghost friend, scared. Not want to be alone in this dark dank place.
"I'm here, I'm here…" Kol brushes his fingers against her cheek, sending a shiver down her spine. He saw a hint of comfort and relief sparks in her blue-green orbs. "You're not alone. I'm here."
The blonde-haired beauty analyzes the door with small bars cautiously and slightly panic. "W-where am I?" she whispered, anxiously.
The Prince Original muttered under his breath, disliking seeing her frightened. "Mayor. Vervain. Shot. Cell." He repeated the words a few times with the hope that his vampire would understand his cryptic words.
The perplexed glint in her blue-green orbs for a brief moment until acknowledgment lit up. "Are you telling me that Mayor—Mrs. Lockwood shot vervain at me, and I'm trapped in a dungeon?" she squeaks, edgy.
Kol made a noise from the back of his throat, confirming she was right as he tapped her cheek in response. Caroline shivers by the icy-cold touch from the transparent Original. "H-how does she know?" Caroline is very careful not to reveal herself as a vampire in public. When and how did Mrs. Lockwood find out?
The blonde-haired beauty lowered her gaze at the cuff, struggling against the cuffs as painful hisses through her gritted teeth, feeling the burn from the vervains. She also could feel the rough texture of metal cuffed on her ankles. Kol wanted to help but for some reason, he just couldn't call out his powerful energy. He honestly doesn't know how to do it of his own free will.
They just randomly come and go whenever it concerns his vampire's life based on his emotions.
Her head snapped up as she paused. Her head tilted slightly, listening as her body froze stiffly. The wild Original frowned deeply as his eyebrow furrowed with questioning. "What is it, darling?" he asked, wondering what Caroline was hearing. Kol silently curses as he wishes she has his supernatural hearing.
After a heartbeat or two, a clank was heard.
Kol shifted his dark gaze from Caroline to the door suspiciously.
"Who's that?" Caroline opens her mouth, uneasy. "Mrs. Lockwood, is that you?! Please let me out!" she struggled as much as she could with her strength, but she is very weak because of the vervains. Kol stepped closer to his vampire with dark glares when he saw a figure approaching through the bars in the door.
The loud high-pitched squeal heard from the outside of the door made Caroline flinch, hurting her enhanced sensitive ears. After a few seconds, the metal door pushed inward and a large man step into the door, exposing his face.
A pleading trailed off from Caroline's lips when her blue-green eyes filled with astonishing speechlessness.
Kol instantly noticed her reaction toward an unknown man. "Do you know this human?" he questioned, warily.
"Hello, Caroline." The man said, calmly with blank eyes.
The blonde-haired beauty just stared at him for a moment, completely dumbfounded. "Darling?" Kol extends his fingers toward her, gently feather-like touches her cheek. The touch of familiar icy-cold snapped her out of it. "…daddy?" she whispered, barely audible. But loud enough for the wild Original to hear.
Kol's eyes widen flabbergasted by this revelation. He quickly snapped his gaze back and forth between the father and the daughter then exploded.
"Bloody hell!"
