Caroline's Bedroom
Couple Days Later…
A fondness twinkles in Kol's eyes when he watches his darling girl burst out in delighted giggles. Caroline covered her smiling mouth with her fingers as her blue-green eyes danced with awestruck. She is sitting on the bed with her best friend, Bonnie who is using her magic. The Bennett witch wiggles her fingers with a soft chant released from her lips.
A red rose petal exploded in the air, joined by the flying petals in the bedroom. Caroline watches the beautiful view with amazement. Bonnie lowered the plant down on the bed. "Watch this." She whispered, playfully.
Another chant word was heard, and Caroline gasped loudly with surprise. The red petals started to change different colors like rainbows of petals everywhere. "Oh my God!" the blonde-haired beauty was so stunned by the gorgeous colorful petals dancing in the air.
Kol hummed with an appreciation for the magic. "Not bad, Bennett." He could feel proud for his mentee's display of her magic skill that is obviously approving so much better than before. Also, he is silently grateful that the tiny witch is making his vampires smile nonstop for hours ever since Bonnie arrived early this morning.
"Your magic is so beautiful, Bonnie." Caroline praised with sincerity. Bonnie beamed at her happily as she reached the vampire's hands. Their talismans bracelets shimmer beautifully as they are nearby once again.
After a moment the best friends finished watching the dancing petals that magically swept into the trash. "Elena doesn't know you're back yet?" Caroline questioned with a raised eyebrow in surprise.
"Why should that twat needs to know?" the transparent Original made a face.
Bonnie shrugs her shoulder uncaringly. "You're more important." She simply answered which made Kol approve with a satisfied smirk.
Caroline smiles happily and is touched. "Aww, I love you too Bon-Bon!" she throws her arms around her witch best friend's shoulder. Bonnie giggles as she hugged back cheerfully.
Kol's lip twitched with a soft smile at his darling vampire. He knew that Caroline was truly deeply affected that Bonnie chose her over Elena.
"We should visit Elena." The blonde-haired beauty breaks the hugs. "And I'm sure you also miss your boyfriend~" she sang the last part at Bonnie who smiles weakly at her.
"Do we have to?" Kol whined, not wanting to see that stupid minger doppelgänger.
The petite witch thought about it for a brief moment then nod her head. "Alright." she said, neutrally. The Original eyed his mentee thoughtfully as he noted how less enthusiastic she acts. Not happy to see the doppelgänger, little witch? Kol mused, interested and curious.
What did that doppelgänger do to make Bonnie Bennett unhappy?

Gilbert's Residence
Moment Later…
Kol stared at the house with disgust and bitterness. He shoves his hands in his pockets while watching his darling vampire holding the bowl of homemade pasta. Bonnie stood by the door to hide from Elena since Caroline wants to surprise the brunette doppelgänger.
The blonde-haired beauty nodded at her witch best friend who pressed the doorbell.
The bell sang.
After a heartbeat of silence, a door opened to reveal Elena who looked surprised to see Caroline. The blonde-haired beauty lifted the bowl in her hands as she did semi-dancing. "I come bearing gifts!" she said happily.
"Please say that's not chili…" Elena comment with a desperate frown as she eyeing at the bowl of food.
The wild Original scoffed rudely at the bitch who didn't show her appreciation or gratitude for his darling vampire's generosity of free food that she made. Fucking hate this minger twat. He glanced at Bonnie who has a soft scowl on her face with a flash of displeased in her olive-green eyes.
Caroline raised her questioning eyebrow at Elena as she stepped inside. She tilted the bowl of pasta that had a transparent wrap over the bowl. Elena glanced down at it interestedly.
The Bennett witch took a breather and then placed a faux-smile on her face. She steps at the entrance of the open door to reveal herself. Elena's eyes widen as her jaw drop when she saw Bonnie. "Bonnie!"
"I'm back!" Bonnie steps inside and Elena throws her arms around the witch's shoulders.
Caroline beamed at her two best friends while Kol stared at the reunited embrace between the witch and the doppelgänger disinterestedly. He shifted his gaze to his vampire who is more interesting to watch.
The petite witch breaks the hug and examined Elena for a moment. "I leave town for the summer and everything goes to hell." 'For Caroline, though. You, not so much.' Bonnie mentally added with a faux-smile.
"Bonnie?" a familiar voice speaks up from the stairs as all heads turned. Jeremy descended the stairs with astonished surprise.
A joyful smile appeared on Bonnie's face when she saw the young Gilbert. "Jeremy." She greeted her boyfriend as she stepped toward him. Jeremy quickly reached the end of the stairs and embraced the witch in his arms. They both exchanges kiss.
Prince Original made a face. "Still think you should break up with baby Gilbert." He muttered. Before he looked away, he paused when he noticed Jeremy glancing into the distance with a hesitant face. Kol followed the young Gilbert's eyes direction and spotted an oval mirror on the wall. He narrowed at it suspiciously.
Caroline cleared her throat. "So, what's this about the chili?" she asked Elena, curious.
"Oh, umm… I was thinking about using my old family recipe. For the Lockwood party." Elena answered, semi-awkwardly after she looked away from her brother who was kissing her best friend.
The blonde-haired beauty hummed with understanding. "Then, let's march to the kitchen." She chirped, and sauntered her way down the path to the kitchen.
Kol easily followed his vampire.

Meanwhile….
The Sheriff of Mystic Falls strides down the path with a soldier vampire next to her. Liz glanced around with alertness in her eyes while Harper is keeping his guard up.
"Is it really alright with you to come with me?" Liz questioned the soldier vampire quietly with slight concern. "Caroline told me that you are promised to her ancestor by protecting her? Should you be with her?"
Harper shifted his gaze over his Lady's mother blankly. "Miss Caroline is indeed very important as she carries the rare bloodline. I will always be loyal to her." He uttered, calmly. "Right now, she does not need me. Her origin needs a Bennett witch."
Liz's eyebrows furrowed puzzling by this bizarre information. "I still don't understand that part. Caroline tried to explain that she was… this… sao creature and only a Bennett witch, who I assumed is Bonnie, connects with her?"
"The pronunciation is Sáõ." Harper provided the foreign word helpfully and Liz send him her semi-awkward smile in response. "Sáõ species and the Bennett witches always connected to each other one way or another. It started back in old ancestor's age."
They both walked further down the street. "Does that mean I'm also…?" the Sheriff trailed off with curiosity.
Harper shakes his head. "No. Every five hundred years, Sáõ was born. You just happened to carry the blood of Sáõ inside of you for months before you gave birth."
"I see…" Liz mumbled, thinking deeply. "…maybe that's why Caroline is a special baby." Harper tilted his head at her with silent questioning. "I was infertile but somehow… I got pregnant and it was a miracle that I got to be a mother. After that, the doctor told me that I couldn't have another baby. But I didn't care because I have my Sunshine."
The soldier vampire hummed softly with few ideas. "It seems that you are chosen to carry an Sáõ baby."
"But why me?" Liz asked, wondering.
Harper just shrugs his shoulders. "I do not the answer. Only Emmanuella knew. Eventually, Miss Caroline will know the answers she will seek someday."
Silence appeared between the Sheriff and the solder vampire when they arrived at the location of the secret building where vampires' cell was held.

Gilbert's Residence
Kitchen
Later…
A moment later, Caroline is stirring the large pot of chili with a wooden spoon while Kol peeks at the food with neutral curiosity. Bonnie is sitting on a stool while cutting the vegetables with a knife on the cutting board, listening. Elena has been explaining the details of what occurred in Chicago with the whole Stefan situation.
"—and that's what happened." The brunette said with a hurt tone as she thought about the young Salvatore.
Kol rolls his eyes. "How those Salvatore brothers fell for you is a fucking mystery to me." He comments, with incredulity.
Bonnie's jaw tightened while thinking about how Elena was busy moping and whining over Stefan for the entire summer when their vampire best friend was in danger a few days ago. Was Elena really this self-absorbed that she didn't notice that Caroline is wearing a mask to cover her trauma and heartbroken eyes?
"This is impressive." The blonde-haired beauty speak up as she turned off the gas stove. Grabbed the handles of the pot and walked over to the island. While Elena placed the casserole dish out from the cupboard and put it on the island. "When did you learn how to cook?" Caroline asked, curious.
Kol leaned his backside on the counter with his arms crossed, boredom.
"Damon helped a little." Elena replied as she used the wooden spoon to scoop the chili down in the casserole while Caroline held the pot. The blonde-haired beauty's eyes flash with old fear and anger but quickly covered it.
Prince Original scowled heavily as his eyes darkened while Bonnie's lip fell to barely conceal her bitter frown. "Damon's helping you cook now?" she questioned, incredulity.
"Both of you stop judging." The brunette doppelgänger scoffed softly while shaking her head. Bonnie and Caroline exchanged displeased glances quietly. "He's just trying to be good—ow!" Elena flinched in pain which caused Bonnie's eyebrows to rise in confusion.
Caroline's eyes widened in a slight panic. "Ahh! Did I splash you?" she lowered the hot pot down with worry.
"Please tell me it hurts her a lot?" Kol blurted it out, gleefully and hopefully.
Elena shakes her head, denying it. "No, no, my necklace." She carefully pulled the pendant of the necklace off her skin. Expose a burn mark where the pendant touched her skin.
The vampire and the witch leaned forward to examine the unexpected wound while the ghost Original narrowed his eyes when he steps closer to his vampire's side. "It burned me." Elena said, disbelieving.
Kol stared at the pendant and the burn mark contemplatively. Elena gently removes the necklace and holds it by the chain. The transparent Original studied the pendant for a moment, wondering where it looked so painfully familiar to him.
"Maybe it's a sign you shouldn't be wearing it." Caroline pointed it out, uncaringly that it might hurt Elena's feelings. The petite witch's lips pressed together quietly while Kol snorted with dry amusement.
The brunette doppelgänger frowned at the blonde-haired beauty with a look. "Caroline."
Caroline just shrugs her shoulders. "What, I'm just saying. If you're going to be "cooking" without Stefan."
"Let me see it." Bonnie doesn't want her vampire best friend and Elena to start arguing. Elena held up by a chain closer to the witch. Bonnie leaned forward with careful study at the pendant. She reached out, and the tip of her fingers touched it but there was an electric zap and sparks flew out of it. Elena dropped it in shock.
"A witch was using a spell to locate this necklace." Kol muttered, understanding now why it burnt the doppelgänger's skin.
The blonde-haired beauty tilted her head when she heard the words from her ghost friend. The wild Original gently brushed the back of his fingers on his vampire's hand. "Tell. Bennett. Spell. Identification." He repeated the words to Caroline who held back her shivers by his icy-touch.
"I think you should try to use a spell." Caroline said as she glances at Bonnie who turned her puzzling gaze to her. "You know, the one. You mention to me something about identification spell?"
Sparks of acknowledgment and understanding in her olive-green eyes. Bonnie nods her head. "Right. I need to get one of the grimoires for that specific spell." She got the silent message that Caroline delivered from her mentor's words.
Elena looks at the vampire and the witch back and forth with confusion and awkward feeling. "Wh-what do you mean by the identification spell?"
"I'll explain to you later. I just need to head home and grabbed a book." Bonnie slid from the stool to stand on her feet. "I'll meet you both at the Lockwood party." She promised and nodded at Caroline with a look.
"Of course." Caroline smiles widely, understanding. She turned to confuse Elena. "Come on, let's hurry this up and we can go to the Lockwood party before it's too late." She hurried the doppelgänger while the tiny witch quickly power-walks out of the kitchen.
Kol stepped forward, leaning over the island, and observed the pendant thoughtfully. Why are you so familiar to me?
There's something in his mind that he just knew the answer to, but he just couldn't reach it for some reason.

Hidden Cell
Meanwhile…
When Liz and Harper arrived at the cell. The solder vampire wants to destroy the entire building that caused trauma to his Lady Sáõ. He pushed the vicious urge back into his mind as he descended the stairs to the metal door. "Please double check him for vervain before you compel him." Liz reminded the soldier vampire.
Harper nodded his head and watched the Sheriff open the door. The solder vampire step inside the cell with a blank face.
Bill is tied to the chair with restraints on his wrists and ankles. There is silver duct tape on his mouth to prevent him from calling out for help. Harper strode forward and easily tore the duct tape ripped off from the hunter's lips, indifferently.
The hunter moved his stiff mouth and glared at Liz who stared at him calmly. "You brought this thing back?" he spat hatefully, showing his disgust at the vampire.
"It's the best thing for all of us, Bill." Liz crossed her arms and glance at Harper who studied the man quietly. "Harper."
The solder vampire tilted his head. "Do you know what you did to her?"
"All I ever did was to help her. I'm trying to help her." Bill justified himself, which made Liz sickened by this.
Harper shakes his head. "You have no idea. What you did to her... you, unknowingly, just got yourself a very angry powerful enemy who will come after you one day." He whispered, mysteriously.
Bill just glowered at the soldier vampire who leaned forward and sniffed the trace of poison in the bloodstream. Using his superior's keen nose and he caught nothing but iron blood. "Vervain free." Harper informed the Sheriff who looked relieved.
The soldier vampire grabbed the hunter's jaw and forced the man to look into his eyes. "It is very unfortunate that I cannot have the pleasure to tear your spine out through your throat and dismember your limb one by one with your weak spine." A chill shivers down Bill's spine when he noticed the malicious glint in the soldier vampire's eyes. Reminding the hunter of an untamable angry dog with sharp fangs.
"You will leave town immediately." Harper's pupils dialed toward Bill's eyes. "All you remember is you came to bring your daughter back to school shopping."

Lockwood Mansion
Outdoor
Later…
The lawns of the mansion are filled with people sitting at tables at the party. Food and drinks covered the large tables. The warm summer sunlight shines upon them while there animated chatter and happy laughter filled in the air, along with soft pop music playing.
From the distance, there are two benches underneath the shades of tall trees with branches and leaves. The blonde-haired beauty is sitting on the bench while the brunette doppelgänger is sitting on another. Kol is leaning his hands on the top of the bench, standing behind his vampire.
Bonnie arrived quickly and settled down on the bench next to her vampire best friend. A heavy satchel bag pulled up to her lap. "Okay, this identification spell might be able to tell me what magic affected the necklace." She explained to Elena, straight to the point while grabbing the grimoire from the bag. She put her bag down on the ground and opened the spell book on her lap.
Elena nodded her head as she handed the necklace to Bonnie who grabbed it not unkindly. Kol leaned forward, close to Caroline with interest. "It's going to take a while, so tell me if anyone's coming, okay?" the petite witch glanced at her vampire best friend who nod her head with a silent promise.
The Bennett witch shifted her gaze down, and carefully read the page of a certain spell with a warning in mind. She recalled one of the lessons from her mentor who always told her not never to skip a single word from an instruction of a spell. It will cause a problem for her, her spell, and her magic. To avoid it, was to read each word carefully.
Much to her reluctantly, she admitted that Kol was a very good mentor and he knew exactly what he was doing by teaching and warning her when it comes to magic and spells. And that was between a ghost delivering words through Caroline to her.
Bonnie silently wondered what is it like to have an actual mentor in person with her.
The tiny witch pushed that thought back into her mind as she needs to focus on this spell right now.
The blonde-haired beauty glanced over at Elena thoughtfully. "So you're not, like, switching Salvatore, are you?" Kol snorted loudly while Bonnie's pressed her lips together, eyes on the page of the grimoire.
"What?" Elena blurted it out in scandalized with wide eyes.
Caroline observed the brunette doppelgänger with a serious glint in her blue-green eyes. "As your friend who worries for you daily, what is the deal with you and Damon?" she nearly spat out the name of the man who abused her.
"There is no deal." Elena denied which made Kol scoff with skepticism while Caroline raised her doubtful eyebrows at her. "He's been just as focused on finding Stefan as I have." She excused.
The blonde-haired beauty frowned. "Yeah, but that doesn't make him any less Damon." She thought about how her father tortured her, trying to change her when it cannot be changed. "No one's changing Damon. Not even you." She said, concealing the pain. "Darling…" Kol muttered, not liking seeing his vampire's shoulders stiff. He knew that she was thinking about the nightmares that she went through because of her father.
Elena sighed loudly with a shaking head. "Why are we even talking about this?"
Unaware, that a necklace was levitating and rising slowly in the air while Bonnie stared at it. "Hey guys." All eyes turned to her and noticed the floating necklace.
"What are you doing?" Caroline whispered with worry as she darted her eyes around with caution.
Bonnie lifted her surrender hands. "I'm not doing anything. It has its own magic." She informed her best friends with a puzzled frown.
"Bloody hell… it's a witch's talisman." Kol whispered with realization.
The Bennett witch instantly grabbed the necklace from the air and curled her fingers around it. "I need to study this and figure out what kind of magic this necklace wields."
The unpredictable Original leaned forward to whisper in his vampire's ear, his freezing cold lips grazed the shell of her ear. "Witch. Talisman." Caroline barely stopped herself from flinching at the suddenly icy-touch her ear.
The blonde-haired beauty took out her cell and quickly typed the message by pretending to check something. "Well, that is probably a good idea." Caroline sent it to Bonnie's phone and lowered her phone down with a charming smile on her face.
"Yeah…" Elena opens her mouth. "…and I think you should take Jeremy with you." Caroline, Bonnie, and Kol looked at her perplexedly. "Jeremy has been having some kind of a hard time since the beginning of the summer. Maybe he might tell you what's going on?" she said, hopeful.
Bonnie blinked in surprise as she had no idea that her boyfriend was having trouble. 'He never told me…' she mused, feeling a bit upset. "Okay, I'll bring Jeremy with me." She shut the grimoire, grabbed her bag, and shoved it in it. She took out her phone from the pocket of her bag and saw the message from Caroline.
The Bennett witch read the message.
Care-Care
—Your mentor said that the necklace is a witch's talisman.
Acknowledge appeared in her olive-green eyes. "I'll tell you if I find any information about this necklace. Maybe there are precious metals or a symbol in one of the grimoires." Bonnie verbalized, mostly to Caroline and Kol then Elena.
Somehow, Kol doubted that Bonnie Bennett could find information from her grimoires. Something about that necklace just seems too suspicious to him.

Indoor — Office
Meanwhile…
Members of the secret council meeting are held inside Mayor Lockwood's office. Liz stared at the woman who was responsible for sending her daughter away and causing her terrible pain and trauma. A faux-polite smile displayed on her face. "—there has been no incidence of the question since spring. It's been quiet." She lied, easily.
Carol nodded her head and glanced around. "Anyone else has anything to add to the minutes?" there is no response. Her gaze over to Damon who is sitting on one of the chairs silently. "Damon?"
"Ah, no, I think the sheriff covered it, Mayor Lockwood." Damon answered with a stiff smile. "Looks like we've made it through the worst."
The Mayor sighed. "Well, I have nothing new to add, so thank you all for coming." She smiles at the members of the secret council. She dismissed them as everyone left the office except her, Liz, and Damon.
The older Salvatore steps around to the table and fixes himself a drink while Carol made a beeline toward him. The Sheriff thought about informing Damon that she knew he was a vampire but she rather waits and asks her daughter's thoughts about this first.
Unexpectedly, Bill appeared in the doorway and uttered words. "I have a question." Liz turned to him in shock while Mayor Lockwood and Damon turned to the hunter with surprise. "Do you three think that everybody on the council is clueless… or just stupid?" Bill glanced at his ex-wife then shifted his gaze to Damon with an obvious hint of him knowing the secret Demon's hiding.
The older Salvatore immediately got the hunter's silent message.
Bill knows Damon Salvatore was a vampire.

Moment Later…
"Where the hell have I seen that necklace?" Kol muttered to himself, feeling frustrated about why that necklace is bothering him right now. He is following closely with his vampire. Caroline is humming to herself as she strode down the road toward her car.
Ringtone interrupted the quiet night air. Caroline paused, grabbed her smartphone from the pocket of her dress, and answered it. "Elena?" Kol rolled his eyes, exasperatedly. "What does that minger twat's want now?"
"Caroline… umm, I have an emergency."
"What? What happened?" Caroline's eyebrows furrowed with concern as she turned halfway, preparing herself to walk back to the mansion.
"Damon went crazy, snapped Alaric's neck and he's going to kill your father."
Caroline staggered speechless.
"Darling?" the transparent Original frowned with concern for her.
Suddenly, Caroline used her vamp-speed straight to the mansion. Kol curses released from his lips when he felt a sharp tug inside as he quickly ran after her, feeling a bit dizzy because of the distance. Good thing that the mansion isn't too far when Caroline is obviously heading toward to that place otherwise, Kol will have to black out once again.
The wild and unpredictable Original barely reached his vampire and was bewildered when he saw Caroline throw the soon-to-be-dead vampire against the wall and threw him through the window. Caroline used her vamp-speed toward Bill with a worried glint in her blue-green eyes.
"Dad? Are you okay?"
Bill was on his knees, his neck was completely covered with bites as blood poured out. "I'm fine." He whispered softly, feeling drained.
Caroline swiftly and smoothly bit her wrist, letting the blood out and showing it to her father. "Here. It'll heal you."
The transparent Original's undead heart swells with amazement and affection for his vampire. His sweet darling is too kind.
"I said I'm okay." The hunter denied it but Caroline glares exasperatedly at her father.
The blonde-haired beauty forced her father to drink her blood. "Grow up." She hisses at her stubborn ass father.
"Let me teach this ass-wheel a life lesson." Damon stepped back into the office while dusting the splinters of wood from his shirt. His eyes went wide, filled with power hungry and violence.
Caroline scoffed. "Just get out of here."
"Or what?"
Suddenly, the blonde-haired beauty whirled around and slapped Damon across his face with her hand harshly. A pleased dark smirk appeared on Kol's face. He loves how his beautiful vampire fights back with her strength.
The older Salvatore snarled angrily as he threw Caroline on the desk in retaliation. His large hands wrapped around her neck, strangling her. "I'm stronger than you, little girl." Kol silently added the strangulation to his mental list of torturing the soon-to-be-dead vampire.
"Well, I'm angrier!" Caroline snapped, breaking his arms away from her neck. Takes his head, head-butts him crudely, and throws him against the wall across the room. The blonde-haired beauty immediately grabbed her father and used her vamp-speed out.
A sharp tug pulled from Kol as it was too late for him to catch up to his vampire. "Oh fu—"
Everything went blank to him once again.

Later…
"Really hate this so fucking much." Kol whispered as he blinked a few times, clearing the blur away as he return back to consciousness. He shakes his disordered mind away and noticed his vampire is sitting on the edge of her bed with a phone in her ear.
"You are welcome to stay here with me, Bonnie. Okay?" Caroline hummed then open her mouth. "Alright. I will see you tomorrow. Good night, Bon-bon." She hangs up gently.
An alarm frown appeared on her face. The transparent Original went to her instantly and gently brushed his finger against her cheek. Caroline shivers with the familiar icy-touch that automatically made her smile. "Kol…" she whispered, happily and in relief. "…sorry I used my vamp speed. Kind of forgot." She apologizes to her ghost friend.
When Caroline returned home after dropping her father at the hotel. She realized that Kol is "gone" because she used her vamp-speed. However, she knew that Kol would always return to her, so she wasn't too worried about that.
Kol's eyes soften. "It's alright, my darling."
The blonde-haired beauty cleared her throat. "Bonnie called me and told me that Jeremy could see his dead girlfriend." She blurted it out to Prince Original.
"Is that so?" Kol muttered with slight interest. Does that mean the baby Gilbert could see him? But then, Jeremy didn't see him earlier today when they were at Gilbert's house.
The transparent Original silently wondered if the baby Gilbert got himself the ability to see ghosts or if was it a special kind of "curse"? Or this is the consequence of bringing Jeremy back to life? Kol mused, as many theories appeared in his mind. He will have to talk with his mentee soon about this.
For now, he wants to enjoy having his moment time with his vampire girl.

Next Day…
"I'm not going to say I told you so." Caroline voiced out, calmly as she is walking next to Elena while they both strode down the path of the Town Square. Kol is walking next to Caroline's other side with his hands shoved in his pockets.
"I'll do it." Kol leaned forward and remarked at the brunette doppelgänger. "We told you so, you stupid bloody twat." He sang, gleefully.
The blonde-haired beauty's lips twitch when she caught her ghost friend's words. Elena sent her thankful glance at Caroline however, the vampire opens her mouth. "But I did tell you… so." Kol smirked, loving how his vampire is very straightforward with honest words.
"Okay, you and Damon were both right." Elena rolled her eyes with a heavy sigh. "I was trying to change him. But if he wants to be in my life—" Kol groaned loudly while Caroline huffed harshly.
"Wait, wait!" The blonde-haired beauty interjected before Elena could say anything more stupid that makes Kol wants to bash his head against the wall. "I… It's been a long week, so I'm just going to be blunt." Caroline stopped and turned to face Elena who looked at her bewildered. "It doesn't matter what he does, Damon's gotten under your skin."
Elena scoffed with a weak smile. "That's not true."
"God!" Caroline covered her face with frustration. Kol placed his finger and thumb between the bridge of his nose with his eyes closed tightly, feeling irritation. He just couldn't believe how much of an idiot this twat's had inside of her empty brain. Seriously… what is it about her that makes it so attractive to the Salvatore brothers? Or to anyone, really? "Just admit it, Elena, okay?" Caroline dropped her hands with a serious face.
Elena gaped at her.
The blonde-haired beauty continued. "You are attracted to him! In all of his bad brother glory." She said with a hint of nausea while Prince Original wrinkle his nose with revolt. "Why the bloody hell why do you like that fucking rapist?" he muttered, uncomprehending how anyone would be so attracted to the filthy character of a soon-to-be-dead vampire.
"No." the doppelgänger refused with gritted teeth.
Caroline scoffed as she rolled her eyes. "Wait—no as in you're not attracted to him, or no as in you just won't admit it?" her hands wave around exasperated and disappointed.
Elena shakes her head violently. "I can't, Caroline!" Caroline stares with a solemn face while Kol crossed his arms silently. "If I admit it, if I even thought it for just a second…" she trailed off, anxiously. "…what does that say about me?"
"That you're a senseless harlot twat." Kol blurted it out, nonchalantly.
Caroline wants to smack her ghost friend so badly right now when she heard his words. However, right now, she noticed how truly upset her brunette best friend is. Elena's doe-shaped eyes filled with unleashed tears, displayed her fear and upset. The blonde-haired beauty couldn't help but feel empathy for her. "…it says you're human, Elena."
"You are too kind, my darling." Prince Original sighed softly yet there was a hint of fondness twinkling in his dark eyes when he glances at Caroline.
Before Caroline opened her mouth, she paused when she looked past Elena and noticed her father walking on the other side of the square. "I…I need to go." She said, walking past the confused doppelgänger, leaving her alone.
Kol followed his vampire across the ground. He watches with alertness glinting in his gaze while Caroline reaches her father.
Bill unlocked his car but paused when he heard her voice call out to him. He turned and saw Caroline standing at a safe distance. "Hey…" Bill took a couple of steps forward but not close to her. "…don't worry. I'm going to go back home before somebody kills me."
"Enjoy your temporary living." Kol hisses at the hunter, still loathing this piece of shit who tortured his vampire.
Caroline nodded her head cautiously. "How's your—" she pointed at her neck, gestured at his neck where it used to have bites.
"Oh, healed." Bill tugs a collar to show his clean wound free neck. Then he observed her for a moment. "Thank you. For coming to my rescue." The blonde-haired beauty nodded her head in silent response. "Goodbye, Caroline."
"Don't come back. Ever." The transparent Original grumbled while glowering at the hunter.
Bill walked back to his car, and extended his hand to the door handle but paused when Caroline voiced out. "Dad…" the hunter glanced over at her, questioning. "…I'm going to be okay." She whispered but loud enough for the man's ears.
The hunter lowered his hand to his side, sauntered his way back, and paused in front of her. Bill studied the young girl before him carefully. Caroline displayed her blue-green eyes full of innocence and hope. "Your mother accepts you and loves you. That's her decision." Caroline's bright eyes slowly dimmed. "I don't think I can ever accept you or love you now. Liz was right… you are no longer my daughter." A flash of hurt in her teary eyes. "I don't think you'll ever be okay again. Because you're a vampire." Caroline bit her inner cheek as her fingers curled into tight fists.
Kol gritted his teeth angrily at the bastard who added another pain to her.
The hunter stepped back, turned, and ambled his way to his car. He opened the door, climbed in, and started the engine. Soon, Bill drives away in his car while Caroline watches silently.
Tears slipped over Caroline's cheeks as shuddering released from her lips with a silent sob. The terrible pain that her father would never accept nor love her all because she is a vampire. Her eyes fluttered shut. She has lost her father.
Prince Original silently wishes he could embrace her in his arms. He steps closer to her, and gently brushes her arm with his icy-cold fingers. Giving her his soundless comfort.
One day, Kol will hold her in his arms for as long as she needs.
