Hello, all. With COVID cases going up that means the hospital is busy and I'm more dead tired. I once did a shift from 7:00 am-7:00 pm. Let it be known right now that...I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN! Anyway, I messed up on my updating schedule, but I wanted to make sure to upload the next pokemon chapter for you. As for the pink chapter, it's almost done, so I did start it. Having freed some of the brainwashed Pokémon from Drowzee's control, our heroes are now riding around the Orange Islands.

Ash was riding on the back of Lapras as they were all simply riding around with no clear destination. Riding around on Lapras was actually doing him some good right now.

He was still thinking about his conversation with Professor Oak before they left the previous Island.

Before Leaving The Island

"What, your Gengar Mega Evolved?!" Professor Oak exclaimed.

"Yeah, I was surprised when it actually happened." Ash admitted, "Gengar's Shadow Ball attack was stronger than before. But that's not all…"

"What do you mean, my boy?" Professor Oak wanted him to elaborate.

Ash took a moment to gather his thoughts, "It felt like—I don't really know how to describe it, but I…I just felt more connected to Gengar." Strange as it was—the new sensation was a welcomed one. The bond between him and Gengar had become even stronger.

Mega Evolution truly is amazing.

"I see, perhaps for now you should send the Mega Stone to me and I'll keep it here in my lab for the time being." Professor Oak said.

"Good idea. I'll send Gengar back, too." Ash believed that his friend should be near the stone and act as a bodyguard for it, just in case.

"Ash?"

Hearing his name being called by Serena brought him back to reality. She must've been talking to him and in his trance-like state, didn't hear her.

"Huh?"

"Are you okay?" She asked, concerned that he was being so quiet.

"Oh, yeah, I'm okay. Just thinking about something, that's all." He replied, smiling.

"Is it about how Gengar Mega Evolved for the first time?" Tracey guessed. He was still a little stunned when Ritchie told them about how the ghost type Mega Evolved. Such an interesting phenomenon was simply astounding.

"Yeah…I just can't stop thinking about it for some reason." He admitted.

"Seeing a pokemon Mega Evolve for the first time was amazing! I can't wait to start doing it myself!" Ritchie was still in awe at seeing Gengar Mega Evolve and send Team Rocket flying away with a powerful Shadow Ball attack.

"Almost makes us wish we were there to see it." Misty hated they weren't able to see Mega Evolution for the first time, but hoped they would soon get another chance.

"I bet Gengar looked really cool!" Tomo said, excitedly.

"He probably looked all big and strong!" Molly added.

"Ursa Ursa (I wanna be able to Mega Evolve, too)!" Teddiursa said.

Ash smiled then noticed something floating in the water. Curious, he grabs it out of the water and stares at it.

"A bottle?" What was a bottle doing all the way out here?

"What is it, Ash?" Misty asked.

"Not sure, but it looks like a message in a bottle." He answered, taking the piece of paper out, "So it's a message in a bottle."

"What does it say?" Serena asked.

"Let's see…" He started to read out loud, "Please help. If there's anyone who knows the location of the Crystal Onix, then please come to Sunburst Island—Marissa."

"Crystal Onix?" Misty questioned.

"I've heard of the Crystal Onix before," Tracey said, "People on that Island claim that the Crystal Onix is just a mere legend, and no one has ever seen it before."

"Do you believe it really exists?" Serena asked.

"Not sure, but it would be interesting to find out." Tracy answered.

Ash agreed, "Let's head to Sunburst Island and see for ourselves." He suggested, and everyone agreed. So here they are, on their way to Sunburst Island with interest in the Crystal Onix.

Sunburst Island

They arrived on the Island and began looking around. There were many glass shops around here which tells them the people here make things from glass.

"This must be an Island of glass makers, interesting." Tracey comments.

"Glass maker?" Misty questioned.

Tracey begins to explain, "You see, glass makers make things like statues completely out of glass."

"Like bowls, plates, cups, and other things, right?" Ash listed off the many things the glass makers can make out of glass.

"Pretty much." Tracey confirmed.

Ritchie smiled, "Sounds pretty cool, maybe we should pop in a few shops and take a look." He suggested.

"Pika (Sounds good to me)." Sparky was in agreement.

"You should just close down this failing shop already!"

"No!"

Ash frowned at the sound of raised voices, "You guys hear that?"

"Sounds like yelling." Serena sounded worried, probably because one of those voices sounded young.

"Let's go see what's going on." Ash said.

They got closer to the sounds of yelling and sure enough—there were two people standing in front of a shop. It was a grown man and a little girl, the two of them were having some kind of argument. As they got closer, the yelling got louder.

"Face it, kid. Your brother should just let this business die already!" The man said.

"Please don't say that…once my brother finds the Crystal Onix then he'll be able to make glass just like grandpa…" She said, looking sad.

"Hah! Let's face it, your brother isn't even half the glassmaker as his grandfather. And besides, everyone here knows there's no such thing as a Crystal Onix," the man cruelly said, "Just shut this shop down already cause it's ruining my own business."

Hurt by the man's mean words, the girl's eyes began to tear up, "Don't say that…"

Seeing her about to cry, the man suddenly looked very nervous, "Oh, come on now. Don't do that…"

"Hey!" Misty marched right up and got in his face, "What's the big idea making a little girl cry?! Weren't you taught any manners?!" She screamed in his face.

"Huh, hey, wait—!" He began to try and explain himself.

"Misty's right!" Serena was next to Misty and joined in the scolding, "How dare you treat her like that, you jerk!"

"Apologize to her!" Misty demanded.

"Do it, right now!" Serena also demanded.

Ignoring the man's plight with two furious girls, Ash decided to go check on the girl, "Are you okay?" He asked.

Sniffling, she wiped the water from her eyes, "I'm okay. But who are you?" She asked.

"My name is Ash Ketchum, and this is Pikachu." He introduced.

"Pika (Hello)!" Pikachu said hello.

"I'm Tracey."

"Ritchie, and this is Sparky."

"Pikachu (Yo)!" Sparky greeted her.

"Molly's my name, and this is Teddiursa."

"Ursa (Hi)!" Teddiursa cheerfully greeted.

"Tomo is my name."

Ash looked over at the two girls, "The two girls yelling at that rude guy over there are Misty and Serena." He had zero sympathy for the guy as he was still being yelled at by the two girls.

"How long are they planning to keep that up?" Tracey questioned.

"All day if we let them." Ritchie answered, grinning. Serves the jerk right.

After about two more minutes the guy decided to just walk away, not even apologize to the little girl. Misty and Serena were not impressed.

"That guy has some nerve." Misty growled at his back.

"I hope he goes out of business." Serena frowned.

"Forget about him," Ash had a question to ask the girl, "We heard you mention a Crystal Onix, are you by chance the one who wrote this?" He showed her the message in the bottle.

Her eyes brightened, "Yes, I am! My name's Marissa, and I sent that out to sea in the hopes someone may have seen the Crystal Onix! Since you have then does that mean you've seen it?"

"No, I'm sorry but we haven't seen a Crystal Onix." Ash felt bad for Marissa, who had such an exciting look in her eyes.

"Oh…" Marissa looked down.

Misty smiled down at her, "Don't look so sad. We may not know where a Crystal Onix is, but we're more than willing to help you look for one."

Marissa perked right back up, "Really?!"

"Of course." Ritchie said.

"Great, come inside our shop! We can tell my brother!" Marissa said.

Stepping inside the shop, she led them to the back room where her brother was sitting in front of some glass statues he must've made earlier, "Big brother, guess what? Ash and his friends are gonna help us find the Crystal Onix!"

"Marissa, I hope you're not bothering them about finding the Crystal Onix." He chided, lightly.

"No, she wasn't bothering us at all. We were actually kind of interested in the Crystal Onix." Ash said.

"We've never seen one, but we'd love to." Ritchie was excited to see if the Crystal Onix really existed or not.

"I've heard many stories about the Crystal Onix and would love to see it for myself." Tracey said.

"I see, well my name is Mateo." Mateo introduced himself to the gang.

"If you don't mind me asking, why are you trying to find the Crystal Onix?" Ash asked.

Mateo looks sadly at his glass figures, "For inspiration."

"Inspiration?" Serena questioned.

He nodded, "You see, our grandfather was an amazing glass maker. Everything he made seemed so real and life-like—almost as if it would come to life." Grabbing one of his statues, he smashed it out of frustration.

"Why did you do that?!" Misty questioned.

Mateo just looked away, "Compared to his…mine's are lifeless."

"Big brother…" Marissa looked at her brother sadly.

"You see, our grandfather told us that he actually saw the Crystal Onix back in his youth. The moment he saw it, he was able to gain inspiration and make the best glass statues." Mateo continued, "That's why—no matter what—I have to find the Crystal Onix! I want to find the same inspiration as my grandfather!"

He then proceeds to show them the Crystal Onix statue his grandfather made. It was absolutely beautiful! Mateo was right when he said there's life in the statues his grandfather made.

"Mateo, we've all decided to help you find the Crystal Onix!" Tracey declared.

"Really?! You'll help us?" He asked.

"Of course, besides we can't let you go out of business and we've already promised your sister." Ash replied.

Both siblings were understandably happy.

Mateo closed up the shop and proceeded to start searching for the Crystal Onix.

"So where should we start looking?" Ritchie asked.

Tracey had an idea, "I know!" He takes out a pokeball and tosses it, "Come on out, Venonat!"

"Venonat (You call)?" Venonat said.

Serena smiled at Venonat, "Wow, aren't you cute." She proceeded to scan it.

[Venonat, a Bug Pokémon. Its eyes function as radar, allowing it to see in the dark.]

"How is Venonat going to help find the Crystal Onix?" Misty questioned.

"Simple, you see, my Venonat should be able to find the Crystal Onix by seeing what it looks like. All you have to do is show my Venonat what the Crystal Onix looks like and we should be all good." Tracey explained.

"That's amazing, Tracey!" Serena complimented.

"Fenne Fennekin (Let's see if it works)." Fennekin comments.

Mateo showed Venonat his grandfather's Crystal Onix statue. The little bug pokemon scanned the image of the statue, once it was finished getting a good look the little antennas on its head twitched.

"Venonat (This way)!" Venonat led them in a direction before stopping. What they found was…a bunch of rocks shaped like an Onix.

Ritchie looked at the rocks with a dry expression, "Well…at least it led us to something that looked similar."

"A little disappointing." Ash said.

"Pika (Very)." Pikachu agreed.

Tracey sighed, "At least you tried your best, return Venonat." He returned the bug type pokemon before getting another idea, "Okay, Marill! It's your turn!" He threw another pokeball.

"Marill (Yay)!" Marill said.

Misty's eyes had hearts in them, "Cutie pie~!" She gushed.

"Please stay focused, Misty." Serena urged her to pay attention to the task at hand before scanning Marill:

[Marill, the Water Mouse Pokémon. Its sensitive ears can detect distant sounds and the round rubbery tip on its tail can expand and contract, assisting Marill in the water.]

"So it has sensitive hearing? Then it can find the Crystal Onix!" Tomo said.

"Marill's a cool water pokemon!" Molly smiled.

Tracey bent down and took out a recording device, "Okay, Marill, here's what an. Onix sounds like. I want you to use your ears and listen very carefully." He proceeds to play it for Marill.

Marill listens intently at Onix's cry before its ears twitch, meaning it detected something. Unlike with Venonat that led them to some rocks, Marill led them to a body of water and points across the water to a small cave.

"Is it here?" Mateo's tone sounded hopeful that this is where the Crystal Onix may be.

Suddenly, the water begins to part, revealing a land-bridge.

"This has to be where the Crystal Onix is!" Ritchie said.

Marill started jumping up and down, "Looks like Marill agrees with you, Ritchie." Tracey said.

"Let's go see for ourselves." Ash declared.

Who's That Pokémon?

Its…Rhyhorn!

"Rhyhorn!"

They arrived at the end of the cave and came across a lake. Marill dived into the water suddenly.

"Why did Marill jump in the water?" Misty wondered.

"Marill must've found something." Tracey said.

Waiting with bated breaths, they waited for Marill to come back up to the surface. The water bubbled before Marill came back up, but…it was followed—

—by none other than the Crystal Onix.

Seeing it in person like this made their jaws drop. The way its body glistened when the light hit it just right showed the natural beauty of the Crystal Onix.

"There it is…the Crystal Onix!" Misty gasped.

"It is real!" Tomo said.

"So pretty…" Molly stared in awe.

"I never thought I'd ever get to see the Crystal Onix, but there it is right before my eyes!" Tracey was excited.

"Now that's what I call a cool looking pokemon." Ritchie grinned.

"It really is beautiful…" Ash said.

"Pika (Yeah…)." Pikachu stared.

Mateo could feel his legs shake as the pokemon he had been trying to find for so long was right here! He did it! After all these years he was finally able to find the Crystal Onix just as his grandfather did when he was younger.

"I found you..after searching for so long…I've finally found you!" Mateo couldn't contain his excitement.

For a moment, the Crystal Onix simply stared at them before speaking. "(Why have you come here)?" It demanded.

Misty turned to Ash, "What did it say?" She asked.

"It said, "Why have you come here?" He translated.

Tracey was amazed, "I'm still impressed by how you can communicate with Pokémon." He still wanted to ask his questions, too.

Mateo looked surprised at this, "Wait, he can really understand pokemon?"

"Yes, but please keep it a secret." Serena urged him.

Ash stepped forward, "Please forgive us for disturbing your rest, but our friend Mateo wanted to find you for the sake of inspiration."

Though the pokemon wasn't expecting the human boy to understand its words, but sensed he wasn't lying and turned its attention on Mateo this time, "(Boy, if you truly came to me to seek inspiration—then battle me)."

Ash translated, "It said that if you really came here to seek inspiration, then battle it." He said, much to the shock of everyone.

"You mean—Of course I'll battle it!" Mateo accepted the challenge.

Nodding, the Crystal Onix prepared itself, "(Come)!"

"Charmeleon, come out!" Mateo sent out his fire type that looked ready to battle.

Serena scanned the fire type:

[Charmeleon, the Flame Pokémon and the evolved form of Charmander. Charmeleon knocks down opponents with its tail, then defeats them using razor-sharp claws.]

The Crystal Onix started things off by using a Rock Throw attack at Charmeleon, but Matteo had his Pokémon dodge the attack before using Flamethrower, which engulfed the pokemon in flames. Onix's body glowed a brilliant red as the flamethrower attack hit its body.

Mateo then told Charmeleon to use a Fire Spin attack—once again making Onix's body glow. The two begin to stare at each other, and he starts to see duplicates of himself within the Pokémon's eyes.

That's it!

"Charmeleon, that's enough!" Mateo stopped his pokemon from attacking further. Charmeleon obeyed and stopped its fire attack.

"Why'd you tell Charmeleon to stop attacking?" Ritchie questioned.

Mateo smiled, "Because it wasn't necessary to continue. I've finally found the inspiration I was looking for."

"Really, big brother?" Marissa asked.

He nods, "Yes, with this new inspiration of mine I can finally make glass sculptures just like grandfather."

Ash smiled, "Good for you, Mateo." Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Onix move closer to him, "Yes?"

The Crystal pokemon stared at him, "(I wish to travel with you on your journey)."

"Eh?" Ash blinked, "Um, can I ask why?"

"(For many years I have lived on this Island, not knowing much about the world outside of it. That is why I requested this of you—to join you)." Crystal Onix replied.

"I see, that makes sense." Ash said.

Ritchie was confused by the exchange, "What did it say?"

"Onix wants to come with me." He said.

"Wow, really?! You're so lucky, Ash!" Ritchie grinned.

Marissa smiled, "Very lucky."

"I'm sure you'll take good care of it," Mateo encouraged, "With you for a trainer it's in good hands."

The others were in agreement and Ash tossed a pokeball at the Crystal Onix. Professor Oak was sure to be surprised when he sees an Onix with a crystal body.

They headed back into town where two shopkeepers decided to mock Mateo, asking if he managed to find the Crystal Onix. Ash stepped in front of his new friend without a word and proceeded to release his brand new Onix. The look of utter disbelief on their faces was priceless. Ash also made sure the two fools apologize for the cruel things they said to the siblings while also making sure they keep their mouths shut about him capturing the rumored Crystal Onix.

All things considered, everything turned out just fine.

He even got a crystal statue of Pikachu, so yes!

Everything turned out great!

Having helped their new friend Mateo in finding the inspiration he needed, Ash and friends are off once more. What new and exciting adventure will they encounter this time? Stay tuned, as the journey continues...
