Mystic Falls
Old City Jail
Night
The dark-blonde vampire had left a while ago and returned with the brunette doppelganger when she explained to Elena that Stefan was currently being detoxing.
Right now, Lexi muttered under her breath while watching her best friend whine and groan for the past few hours during an illusion. Elena just watched it in morbid horror at a safe distance.
Lexi stood in front of him with her arms crossed. "—five years without blood." she muttered, flatly. The dark-blonde vampire tilted her head, studied him for a moment. "Klaus really did a number on you, huh?"
"I'm starving! I'm starving! I'm starving! Let me out!" Stefan shouted at Lexi with wild eyes. "Why are you doing this to me?! No one cares! I don't care about anyone so just leave me be!"
Elena shakes her head with disblieved and disturbed. "Why is he acting like this?" her heart squeezed painfully at the terrible sight in front of her.
Lexi hummed, nonchalantly. "Another five years." then she shifted her hazel-green orbs to Elena calmly. "He's hallucinating."
"Did I ever tell you how I wish you were dead!" the Ripper snapped, furiously at her. Struggling against the restraints on his wrists.
"Aww, I missed you too, my old friend." Lexi chirped, happily with a sugar-sweet smile. Stefan glowered at her while whimpering over the agony of how thirsty he was.
Stefan's fangs emerge as black veins appear around his red-blood eyes. "I will rip you apart, Lexi!"
The brunette quietly gulped nervously, troubled by how aggressive the young Salvatore was. She is not used to seeing him being so destructive. Her fingers curled around the straps of her purse. Elena wanted to stay longer and help but she doesn't know if she can handle this. Watching this horrible 'detoxing' for Stefan.
'Maybe about a couple of days or so, he should be able to break free from Ripper?' Lexi mused, pondering while expertly tuning out her best friend's death threatening at her. At least she gets to visit her beautiful friend.
"Lexi..." the dark-blonde vampire snapped out of it, and turned her head to Elena with a raised questioning eyebrow. "...I-I'm so sorry. I don't—" Elena flinched when Stefan struggled loudly against his cuffs once again, screaming angrily with unintelligible words from his lips.
Lexi's hazel-green eyes soften with sympathy and understanding. "You can go. I know how hard is it to watch someone you love acting like this." Espeically this type of method is not exactly good for fragile hearts. "You can always return whenever you are ready." she assures the doppelganger who nodded her head with a relief glint in her doe-shaped eyes.
Elena took a last remorseful glance at Stefan and hurriedly left the old cell.
"Even the girl you loved couldn't handle watching you like this, Stefan." Lexi muttered, feeling pity for her best friend and for the poor brunette girl. She silently wondered if their love would be able to save each other.
Somehow, Lexi doubted it.

Forbes' Residence
Caroline's Bedroom
Later...
The necklace hangs danglingly in the air as Caroline is holding the chain in between her index finger and thumb. The blonde-haired beauty leaned closer to examine it carefully. "So, even the fire is useless." she commented, impressed. "What a strong necklace." Caroline is currently sitting on the edge of her bed with one of her legs bent underneath her backside.
Bonnie huffed while lying on her back against the bed. Her olive-green eyes stared at the ceiling, contemplative. "I don't know how that is possible. Grams and I burnt that necklace into a mess of silver. But..." she trailed off, disblieved.
"Because it still carried a thousand years of magic." Kol muttered, eyeing his sister's necklace that was gifted by their mother.
Caroline's eyebrow raised curiosity and cautiously. She carefully lowered the necklace to the nightstand and moved her hand on her lap. "Are you going to give it to Elena or that Original girl? Rebekah?" she asked, wondering.
Bonnie shrugged her shoulders while Kol thought of his sister who might appreciate having her mother's necklace back. However, the Prince Original doesn't really want his girls to go anywhere near his crazy sister since he knows for a fact that his sister could easily lose her short temper so fast that causes him to whiplash multiple times.
"So!" the blonde-haired beauty cleared her throat and clapped her hands. "I had to ask... have you talked with Jeremy?" she is curious while Kol eyeing her with a knowing smirk. He knew that his vampire wanted to know the newest drama.
The Bennett witch's jaw tightened when she thought of her former boyfriend. "We're done." she stated, not wanting to talk any more than that.
Caroline's eyes softened with understanding and sympathy when she noticed how her best friend was hurt by Jeremy's betrayal.
"Finally." Kol muttered, satisfied. His mentee deserves someone better than baby Gilbert.
Caroline bit her inner cheek for a thoughtful moment then whispered softly with a caring tone. "Will you be alright?" She knew that Bonnie was not alright right now, but she just wanted to be sure that her witch best friend would be healing and move on.
Bonnie held out her hand to Caroline who happily accepted it and their talisman bracelets shimmer beautifully when they're close. "Knowing that I'm not alone, I will be alright." she said with a soft sisterly smile.
"Love you too, Bon-Bon." Caroline beamed at her best friend.
Kol's dark eyes soften as he enjoys watching the sisterhood bond between his vampire and his mentee.
Soon, the supernatural girls prepared to get ready for sleep. However, the doorbell rang alerted them. Caroline paused and tilted her head slightly with a puzzling glint in her blue-green eyes. Bonnie raised her eyebrows yet her shoulders stiffed on guard. "Who's that?" she whispered, warily.
The Mischief Original stared at his vampire, waiting for her to answer. Not even a minute when a delighted grin breaks out on her face. "Oh!" Before he and Bonnie knew, Caroline used her vamp-speed out of her bedroom.
Bonnie stumbled out of the bed and hurried after the blonde-haired beauty while Kol followed closely.
When they reached the bottom of the stairs and to the foyer, they saw Caroline hugging Lexi tightly. They both swing back and forth dramatically with big smiles on their faces. "I miss you so much, Lexi!"
"I miss you too, Linnie." Lexi cooed, obviously adored the blonde-haired beauty. Over Caroline's shoulder, Lexi saw Bonnie who awkwardly stood in the safe distance. "Oh, who is your friend?" the vampires break the hugs.
Caroline beamed excitedly. "Lexi, meet my best friend since toddlerhood, Bonnie!" she turned her bright blue-green eyes to Bonnie. "Bonnie, this is Lexi. She is Stefan's awesome best friend." she introduced her friends to each other.
Lexi tipped her head at Bonnie with a warm friendly smile. "Hey."
"Hi." Bonnie greeted back not unkindly but politely.
Caroline shuts the door while glancing at the dark-blonde vampire with curiosity. "Did you just arrive here?" she questioned, while locking the door.
"I got here a few hours ago. Around evening." Lexi replied, placing her hands on her hips. "Stefan is at the old cell." Bonnie and Caroline exchange surprise glances. "Not the first time for me to knock him out and trap him." Lexi said, indifferently.
Kol looked at her with amusement.
Caroline made a noise from the back of her throat while Bonnie raised her eyebrow with slight astonishment. "What are you going to do with him now that he's in the old cell?" Caroline asked, curious.
The blonde-haired beauty instantly became a hostess for Lexi and directed the vampire woman to the living room. Bonnie quietly followed the vampires.
When they settled in the living room, Lexi sat on the couch with Caroline while Bonnie sat on the overstuffed chair and Kol leaned his side against the couch arm near his darling vampire. "To detox him but I don't have enough free time because it will take a long while to do that. Without a choice, I had to put him under the illusion." Lexi admits with a grimaced frown.
"Whoa, wait—" Caroline held up a hand in surprise while Bonnie and Kol perked up with interest. "—what do you mean put him under the illusion? Is that even possible?"
Lexi leaned back against the couch heavily with a sigh. She carefully studied Caroline and Bonnie for a moment then nodded herself as if she had come to a decision. "...I was born psychic. Somehow I can manipulate the illusion for as long as I can remember. During my time, it was very dangerous because of the witch trials. My parents died by protecting me, pretending they were witches and that my brother and I, we're innocent." the blonde vampire stared at the wall, thinking about her past as a human.
The Prince Original's eyes darken angrily when he thinks about the Witch Trial back in the fourteenth century when he lost his witch friend, Regina Smithson. He recalled how that horrifying time was when his friend was taken from her home, dragged to the nearest body of water, stripped to her undergarments, bound, and then tossed in to see if she would sink or float. Tragically, his friend cannot swim as she sank like a stone, and drowned to death.
He was furious and managed to get the "Swimming Test" banned in many European countries in the Middle Ages, however, it remerged in the seventeenth century. This caused one of his witch friends who could swim but, sadly, to misunderstand that witches would simply bob on the surface meaning they are guilty of playing with the devil's work. They used it as evidence against his witch friend, Dorko Boda, who was later beaten and burned at the stake.
Kol had lost a lot of witches and warlocks because of the Witch Trails. He had managed to save a few dozen before he was daggered by his stupid paranoid bastard brother.
"You were a witch?" the Bennett witch asked, wondering.
Lexi shakes her head thoughtfully as her hazel-green eyes brighten back to the present. "Not really. I can't do any magic. Just that I can manipulate hallucinations. I think it was because of my family's blood. My parents don't have it. But my grandmother was a phytokinesis. It had skipped generations in my family blood to those who have psychic ability. My great-niece had the ability to do an astral projection. She was the last blood relative of mine in the Branson family." she said, fondly yet sadly.
Caroline gently takes Lexi's hand, wordlessly comforting her which the vampire woman is grateful. Lexi glanced down and saw the mood ring adorned on Caroline's finger. A fond smile displayed on Lexi's face. "You're still wearing it." she commented.
"Of course. You gave me this mood ring. I never really take it off." the blonde-haired beauty said, happily. Glanced at the mood ring and her daylight ring. Two important rings that she silently vowed, a long time ago, to never take them off.
Lexi gently tapped the mood ring with her finger. "This mood ring belonged to my great-niece from the seventy-five. She made it with vervain so she is well-protected from vampires." Caroline's eyes widen in surprise at the information.
"Are you absolutely sure you don't want it back?" Caroline asked, just in case. She willingly returns the vervain mood ring back if Lexi wants it, even though she has come to love the ring.
The dark-blonde vampire smiles sweetly at Caroline. "I am absolutely sure." she assures the young vampire who smiles back with relief.
Bonnie could easily see how much the older vampire truly cared about Caroline a lot. It made her tense shoulders relax a bit. 'I guess she isn't so bad for a vampire.' she mused, deciding to get to know Lexi before judging her. "Is it safe for Stefan to be alone right now?" the tiny witch asked, inquisitive.
"He won't escape." Lexi answered with confidence. Which brings comfort to the young supernatural girls.
Kol silently watches his vampire, his mentee, and the older vampire animatedly chatting. Getting along so well, much to his pleasant surprise. Considering he knew for a fact that his mentee is not the type of person who is willing to get along with vampires. However, it seems that the Bennett witch decided to give a chance to learn about Lexi Branson.
The wild Original is proud of his mentee. Bonnie Bennett is growing up, learning more, and open-minded to supernatural beings.

Mystic Falls
High School
Morning...
"Why are doing this cheerleading practice this early morning again?" Bonnie grumpily while adjusting the strap of her gym bag over her shoulder. She is walking next to Caroline who is humming cheerfully with a skip in her steps.
The transparent Original watches them with amusement. Bonnie Bennett is entertaining to watch when it's obvious that she is not a morning person. Not only that, she was mildly-jealous of Lexi who was still snoozing on Caroline's bed.
"Because we're seniors and we are supposed to help them prepare for next year." the blonde-haired beauty replied, repeating with mirth dancing in her blue-green eyes.
Bonnie made a weird complaining noise from the back of her throat. "And why didn't I quit the squad?" she narrowed her eyes at her best friend suspiciously.
Caroline cocked her eyebrow at the petite witch. "Because you promised to not quit after Elena quit last year." she reminded her, coolly.
Kol snorted at the face that Bennett witch made. She is obviously questioning herself of why she made such a promise when it involves early morning practices when she could actually sleep longer. Sadly, she cannot break her promise to Caroline.
Soon, they arrived at the location where a few cheerleaders gathered while they were doing their warm-up routine. Caroline and Bonnie set their gym bags near the outdoor table with other gym bags.
The Prince Original gracefully sat on top of the table, feet on the bench while his elbows rested on his knees. He watched his girls quietly chatting with the cheerleaders and did some of their warm-ups. It was an oddly calm morning for him but he doesn't mind too much.
It was nice seeing his girls doing their own normal-teenagers-girls-thing without any supernatural drama at the moment.
After a short moment, Kol's spine straightened when he spotted his sister making a beeline toward the cheerleaders. Rebekah almost shyly set her bag down with the others and sauntered her way toward the girls.
One of the cheerleaders saw her and perked up. "Hey Rebekah!" the others greeted her with friendly smiles and waves. Rebekah's blue eyes lit up and greeted them with a friendly smile.
Kol tilted his head, thoughtfully at his sister. It is so strange to see her being so perky and happy around the mortals.
Caroline hesitated for a brief moment then stepped forward to Rebekah who stiffed with slight defensive. "That acrobatic stunt you did... it was impressive." she complimented Princess Original who eyed her, studied her face, and relaxed when she noticed that Caroline was being genuine.
"I agreed." Bonnie carefully said with a polite smile.
Other girls quickly agreed with them and even asked Rebekah if she could show them her impressive stunt again. Rebekah brightened and nodded her head with an eager smile on her face.
"As usual, you are too kind, darling." Kol mumbled with fondness filled in his dark eyes as he continued watching them.
Later on, students slowly arrive at school. Some students came from brisk walks, bike rides, or vehicles. The cheerleaders finished their practice and hung around for a bit.
Caroline and Bonnie are quietly chatting about their schedule while standing close to their bags, holding their water bottles. Kol glanced over at his little sister who stood up a little straighter and started doing her easy into a series of gymnastic cartwheels once again while the girls watched her.
Until the human doppelganger arrived. Rebekah stopped right in front of a table where Kol was currently sitting. "You. Goody." the Princess Original smiles sarcastically at her with distasteful eyes.
"I was hoping we could talk." Elena said, warily.
The transparent Original glanced at his vampire who was shamelessly eavesdrop on Rebekah and Elena's conversation while Bonnie quietly waited next to her. Kol's lip twitches with amusement yet fondness. He truly loves how his darling girl always uses her vampiric senses to her advantage.
"About what? Stefan? Don't worry I'm off him until he starts treating me better." Princess Original said, calmly then made a thinking face. "In fact, you should probably take a page out of my book, if I'm being honest."
Elena rummaged through her bag and took out a photo. "Actually, I'd rather talk about this." she lifted a photo of Rebekah's name written in Runic on the cave wall. Rebekah's emotion changed to shock when she saw the picture.
Kol quickly leaped off the table and examined it closer. His eyes widen in surprise that he didn't expect to see his old language. In fact, where the hell did this minger doppelganger get her hands on this?
"I'm curious why you and Klaus have spent a thousand years around from your father." Elena raised her eyebrow, waiting for the answer.
The transparent Original's lips pressed together firmly and glanced at his sister who was completely nervous and hesitant. "I should get back to the girls. Homecoming's right around the corner." She turns to leave.
However, Elena said that gave horror shock to the Originals. "Well then maybe I'll ask Mikael when we wake him."
Kol stared at the doppelganger blankly while Rebekah jerked around with a smirk. "You're bluffing! You don't know where he is. No one does."
"So, then who's rotting in that old cemetery in Charlotte?" Elena asked, smugly.
"Bloody hell." the Prince Original recognized the true terror leaks through his sister's angry eyes. That would mean that their father is truly rotting in Charlotte.
Rebekah stormed straight to Elena. "If you wake Mikael, we are all doomed!" she hisses with a serious glint in her blue eyes.
"So then, tell me." Elena demanded.
Princess Original narrowed her eyes at her suspiciously. "Why do you want to know?"
"Why don't you want me to wake him?" Elena shot back.
Kol watches his sister stare at the brunette doppelganger for a short moment. "I need to get back to the girls." she turned around and walked back toward the squad, shaken.
Elena huffed, turned around, and strode off while stuffing the photo back into her bag. The transparent Original doesn't how the fuck did that minger bitch managed to figure out his father's name nor where the location was but the true fright slowly crawled from his undead heart.
He doesn't want to see his abuser asshole of a father at all. Kol went straight to his vampire who looked extremely worried while Bonnie looked very thoughtfully. He knew that Caroline had already given the tiny witch's explanation from what she had heard.
Kol doesn't know what the hell that stupid twat is doing, but she is definitely playing a very dangerous game.

Alaric's Residence
Later...
Bonnie knocks the door with the back of her knuckles. She didn't wait long when a hunter answered the door. "Hey there." the tiny witch greeted Alaric.
"Come on in." Alaric stepped aside and Bonnie walked inside. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw the photos attacked on the walls with sticker notes. "I'm sorry the place is such a mess. I'm obsessed..." he said, awkwardly smiling while glancing around at the photos.
The Bennett witch hummed acknowledges while studying the photos with intrigue. "I got your message." she took out a necklace from her jacket's pocket. "Here's the necklace that wouldn't die."
"Ahh, that's great." Alaric takes it not unkindly from Bonnie's hand and examines it closer. Then the hunter glanced up at Bonnie who was looking at the drawings in the photos. "You okay?" he asked, gently.
Bonnie hummed, disinterestedly as she didn't want to talk about her feelings to anyone. Plus, she has Caroline if she ever wants to have emotional talk. "Been better." she narrowed her eyes at one of the photos that caught her eye. The runic language with sticker note that translated to 'Elijah'.
"Listen..." the petite witch turned her head to the History teacher with a blank face. "...Jeremy is an idiot. And I know this with certainly, because I was once a Jeremy. Trust me, we learn... eventually..." Alaric said with an assured yet awkward smile. He cleared his throat when Bonnie didn't reply so he turned his attention to the photos that lay on his counters. He picked one of the photos up. "Anyways... So, I've been staring at this image all day, wondering why it looked so familiar." he showed it to Bonnie.
Bonnie carefully studied the photo with astonished surprise. "It's the same design." she pointed it out, comparing the drawing and the necklace.
"I was right." Alaric said, proud of himself that he was able to solve it. "Your grandmother said this necklace belonged to the witch that put the hybrid curse on Klaus, right?"
'Well, it also belonged to an Original Witch as known as Originals' mother.' Bonnie mused, added as she nodded her head, confirming the hunter was correct.
"Well, this symbol is repeated all across the wall. I've been trying to figure out what it meant. And now I know..." Alaric grabbed a marker and wrote something on the sticker note, then plucked it and stuck it to the photo. It is labeled, 'Witch'.
The Bennett witch tilted her head, pondering. "You don't mind if I take a few pictures?" she held up her smartphone.
Alaric shakes his head and waves his hand over at the slightly disorganized photos that are attached to the walls with sticker notes, silently letting her do as she freely does. Bonnie sends him her thankful smile and takes taking few snapping pictures on photos.
She cannot wait to show them to her vampire best friend and her mentor.

Outskirt of Town
Bar
Meanwhile...
A dark-blonde vampire strode inside the bar with determined and furious glowed in her hazel-green eyes. At her side, she held tightly around the black umbrella. Nearly crushed it as she scanned around in the crowded bar and instantly found Damon dancing on a table with two girls. And a young Salvatore who is feeding on a female's neck against the beam in public.
Lexi scoffed in disblieved and stormed toward them. She noticed a bystander pause and saw Stefan feeding on an innocent girl with a perplexed and suspicious face. Lexi curses under her breath, luckily, Damon shows up and compels the woman to forget and move along.
"Hey, hey ease up!" Damon grabbed his brother's shoulder and dragged him away. Before he could do more, he paused when he saw Lexi over his shoulder in the distance. "Oh hell."
Stefan raised his eyebrow at Damon with questioning eyes. He turned around and saw Lexi furiously glare daggered at them when she approached them.
Damon quickly covered the bartender woman's neck with a scarf and compelled her to leave. He turned around with a charming smirk. "Well, if it isn't Lexi." he mockingly said.
Lexi growled when she reached toward them and halted as she stood in front of them. "I know for a fact that Lee will flip his shit and lose his mind if he finds out that I took a fucking risk by using this umbrella to walk underneath the goddamn sun during the day. All because I found out that you—" she sends her angry glares at Damon who just smirks at her. "—took Stefan from the cell while I was in the middle of helping him return his emotions!" she hisses, livid.
"I am helping him." the older Salvatore said, coolly.
Lexi bristled. "Helping him?" she jerks her free hand over at Stefan who has been quiet while watching them arguing. "How is helping him by releasing him to feed on whenever he wants in the middle of the fucking crowded public bar, Damon?!"
"He's my brother. I know him better than anyone." Damon snapped at the older vampire.
The dark-blonde vampire scoffed, with incredulity and skepticism. "Oh really? Then where the hell was you when the Ripper butchered the entire family in a vacation villa back in the early nineteenth from Florida?" she snipped, recalling one of the old dark stories that Stefan told her decades ago about how he deeply regretted during his Ripper days.
Damon glowered at her, stepping up closer to her as he attempted to intimidate her. However, Lexi didn't back down as she lifted her chin at him, daring him to do something to her. She will kick his ass. She isn't afraid to get her hands dirty.
"Alright, alright... guys, just stop." Stefan used his hands to separate his brother and his best friend in a distance. He stepped in the middle and glanced at both of them thoughtfully. "Look, Lexi... Damon is supposedly trying to help me in his own weird way." he said to the dark-blonde vampire.
Lexi rolled her eyes. "Helping you? He was too busy playing with his own stupid game than pay attention to you, Stefan." she said, irked.
"I'm just showing him what's like to have freedom." the older Salvatore said, defending his excuse of action.
Before there is another argument, the young Salvatore stops them. "Stop." he took a moment to take a breather and stared at his best friend. "I told you before. I don't want your help. I don't need your help." He could see the protest from Lexi when she narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't. I don't care that you've helped me "detoxing" me decades ago. I still don't get why you want to help me. Why do you even care about me."
"I care about you." Lexi frowned at him with furrowed eyebrows.
Stefan just smiles humorlessly at her. "I'm not a pet that you can always visit and play with once in a while. I'm not broken that you always return to "fix" me. I'm not your plaything, Lexi. You're just someone who only needs some kind of redemption. To make your feelings of guilt to make it less."
"Excuse me?" the dark-blonde vampire's muscles grew tense. "What the hell are you talking about?" Her hazel-green eyes flash with warning at him, to be careful with his words.
However, Stefan didn't care as he stared straight into her eyes. "Just because you killed your little brother doesn't mean it will wash away all the guilt you have just by helping me, Lexi."
Damon's eyes widen in astonished shock at this reveal with a sharp whistle released from his lips. Stefan just point blank staring at the older vampire.
Lexi stood still. Her pulse sped up and she was breathing very shallowly. A conflicted jumble of emotions ran through her hazel-green eyes for a brief moment then a dry chuckle left her lips. She scanned around the bar while licking her lips and tutted angrily.
"You're—" Her hot rage of wet eyes glowered at Stefan. "—a fucking bastard, Stefan Salvatore." she whispered harshly, hiding the twig of hurt in her tone. Lexi sharply turned and gracefully walked away as she went through the crowded bar to the exit doors.
The Salvatore brothers watch the dark-blonde vampire open the black umbrella and leave the bar. Damon glanced at his brother who was wordlessly staring at the ground. "...well you seem like you could use a drink, whiskey?" Damon tapped Stefan's shoulder before he cleared his throat awkwardly.
"I find the mead is much better alcohol in my humble opinion." an unfamiliar thick accented voice caught the vampire brothers' attention when they turned around and saw a man walking up behind them with a cold polite smile.
"The Salvatore boys, I presume?" the stranger studied them with neutral interest.
Damon and Stefan exchanged surprised looks. "Mikael."

Mystic Falls
Park
Later...
The sun was high in the blue sky, shining upon the park where Caroline and Bonnie sat at one of the picnic tables. There were birds chirping in the trees, a light breeze that brought a pleasant chill to the air, and the scent of the freshly cut grass and the flowers from nearby gardens. The petite witch leaned forward as she pushed her smartphone on the surface of the wood table toward Caroline who sat across from her.
Caroline carefully scrutinized each picture by swiping them on the screen. Kol is sitting next to her, leaning close to her as he, also studies the picture. The blonde-haired beauty could feel the wintery-icy cold touch from the left side of her body that she knew was from her ghost friend. "These are insane..." Caroline commented, amazed by the handwritten drawing that was made a thousand years ago on the cave walls.
Bonnie leaned her chin on her palm as her elbow rested on the table. "Yeah. Alaric explained that it was at the old Lockwood cave. Vampires can't get access in there." she enlightened the information to her best friend and mentor.
Kol's lips pressed together when he noticed the picture that showed the runic language of his siblings' names. And Caroline paused when she noticed one of the pictures didn't have the sticker note. "It seems that he didn't translate them all." she flipped the phone over to Bonnie, and displayed a picture. "Any idea?" Bonnie shakes her head in response with a puzzling shrug.
"Kol?" Caroline flipped the phone back with the hope that her ghost friend could answer her.
The transparent Original sighed as he easily read his old native tongue from the photo. "Finn." he recited a few times until Caroline got his message.
Realization sparkles in her blue-green eyes. "Finn. That would be your brother, right?" Kol replied by touching her hand, sending her shivers by his icy-cold touch, confirming that she was correct.
"Wait, that's a different name..." Bonnie made a tired resigned face. "...another Original?"
Caroline nodded her head with an almost sheepish smile. Bonnie sighed heavily. "What the hell... just how many are there?" she whined, disblieved.
"I think that's all of them." the blonde-haired beauty changed the picture and paused when she saw three characters of runic language without a sticker note. However, she just knew what this name was. "This photo... it's Kol." she whispered, confident.
Kol smirked at her, both pleased and impressed. He brushed the back of his finger against his darling vampire's cheek who couldn't help but feel a little shy.
"Well, does an asshole mentor of mine have anything to tell us about these pictures?" the Bennett witch asked, curious and interested.
The unpredictable Original made a grimaced face. From what he has seen from the photos so far, was a tale about how his siblings and he became a night of creature, the first species created in this world by a dangerous forbidden dark spell by an Original Witch. The kind that are stronger, faster, and smarter than the Children of the Moon—werewolves. And how the siblings learned the hard way that becoming an entirely different species was that they lust after blood.
His fingers curled into shaking tight fists when he recalled that one night when his father stabbed him in the heart fiercely. Woke up in transition and was forced to feed the innocent girl's blood and became a vampire. His magic was torn away so violently without his consent. He never wanted to become an immortal dark creature.
Unfortunately, his parents didn't care since they only wanted to make sure all the children survived after the loss of his younger brother, Henrik. Honestly, his memories was a bit fuzzier because he was in too much grieving and mourning the loss of his magic.
"These are the tales of my family. A very long complicated story." Kol muttered, grudgingly admitted. He doesn't like telling anyone of his life story about the beginning.
Caroline tilted her head. "He said something about tales and complicated. Guess it must've been a very long one." she uttered, thoughtfully out loud. She also noticed something. "There sure a lot of witch's design in almost every photo." she pointed it out.
"Yeah, Alaric mentioned that too." Bonnie added that piece of information as she brushed the strand of her hair that was playing by the breeze away from her face. "Oh, and he also told me that Elena is talking with Rebekah about the whole Original family."
The blonde-haired beauty frowned, lowered the phone, and carefully slid it back to the petite witch who grabbed it not unkindly. "Think she will tell Elena her entire life story?" she said, skeptical.
"Wouldn't surprise me if Bex did." Kol muttered, resigned. He knew his sister well enough that she would tell her tales because she loved having people listening to her. Sometimes, he wishes Rebekah wasn't too easy to receive information by enemies. Unfortunately, his sister was cursed into an immortal fifteen/sixteen springs old... meaning she is very sensitive and wears her heart on her sleeves. Which is why Klaus and Elijah are both very protective of her.
Hell, even Kol is protective of Rebekah as well, despite the fact she did betray him. But at least he respects her enough to let her learn from her own mistakes and grow up to become more wiser. Otherwise, how will she understand life as an independent adult?
"We'll see what Elena tells us." Bonnie said, shrugging with dubious glint in her olive-green eyes. "Plus, she might want this necklace back." she took out a witch's talisman necklace from her pocket and set it on the table between the witch and the vampire.
All eyes stared at the innocent necklace for a moment. "I think it'll be creepy if Elena wears this again. Knowing that it belonged to the Original Witch, Kol's mother." Caroline blunted which amused the Prince Original. Bonnie nodded her head, agreed.
"You can give it to Rebekah. I'm sure that sister of mine would love to have it back to her." as much as a troublemaker his little brat sister was to him, he knew that Rebekah would be joyful once she got her mother's necklace returned to her.
The blonde-haired beauty tilted her head lightly. "Kol said something about giving this necklace back to his sister—Rebekah." she raised her eyebrow at Bonnie who frowned contemplatively. "Is that fine? It won't like...do anything bad? 'Cause this thing still has magic, right?" Caroline eyed the necklace with caution.
Kol's dark eyes shine with amusement. "True that it has magic but nothing will happen if Rebekah wears it." he said, poking his vampire's forehead who is making a faux-annoying face.
"I doubt it." the petite witch said with a shaking head. "To her, it's nothing but a necklace that belonged to her mother."
Caroline hummed with acknowledgment. "Good." she idly tapped her fingers against the table. "...so who is going to give this to her?"
"Not it." Bonnie immediately refuses with a careful blank face. Kol snorted and glanced at his vampire who dropped her disblieved jaw.
Then Caroline squawks dramatically with a comedic face while flailing her arms around her which causes Bonnie and Kol to burst out laughing. It didn't take a full minute when the blonde-haired beauty joined in their laugh.
