I decided to make the next chapter longer, also I'm going to start writing two chapters instead of just one so I can hurry up and get to 20 chapter then move onto the next story. It took me so long to update this because I got hooked on Pokemon Legends Arcues, such a fun game! I recommend it.

Today, our heroes are sailing the seas once more at a calm pace, but they'll soon have an interesting encounter.
Once again we find Ash and friends enjoying the nice calm and quiet sounds of the water, but that peaceful calm won't last long though.
Ash was in the middle of cleaning the GS ball with a curious Pikachu watching him. Misty was making funny faces at Togepi, making the little egg pokemon giggle up a storm. It was when she was in the middle of doing this that Ash noticed something in the distance coming at them fast.
"What's that?" He wondered.
Misty looked up along with Tracey, "What's wrong, Ash? You see something?" He questioned.
"Maybe a motorboat?" Misty guessed, though she really wasn't all too sure.
But she was wrong. Speeding towards them was a tanned Nurse Joy along with a Chansey, both were in a kayak and the nurse wasn't stopping any time soon. It was only for a split second, but the gang was able to get a good look at her as she sped off.
"Okay, so that wasn't a motorboat." Misty said, blinking.
"That looked like…Nurse Joy?" Ash wasn't too sure because it was only for a split second, but it had to be Nurse Joy.
"I think you're right, Ash! Someone was rowing that boat and it looked like Nurse Joy to me, too!" Tracey said, agreeing with him.
"Are you guys seriously telling me that was Nurse Joy speeding past us just now? No way!" Ritchie couldn't believe it.
"Is Nurse Joy strong enough to row that fast?" Serena wasn't sounding skeptical, she just really wanted to know.
"She's probably one of Nurse Joy's sisters." Molly guessed.
"Yeah, Nurse Joy has a big family just like Officer Jenny." Tomo reminded everyone.
"Oh, yeah, she does!" Ritchie can't believe he forgot that.
"Lapras, catch up to that boat!" Ash ordered.
Lapras was all too happy to oblige and Gyarados was right behind the young pokemon.
The pokemon ended up bringing the others on an Island where the kayak was. There was no sign of Nurse Joy Chansey however, but the group deduced she was probably somewhere on the Island. Tracey started following the footprints the two left behind, but unfortunately they end near some rocks on the Island.
"If footprints end here, then does that mean the two of them dived in the water?" Ash questioned.
"Maybe, but that's as good as a guess right now." Tracey said.
"I'm really curious to see a muscular Nurse Joy," Serena said, "She must be stronger than the rest of heer relatives."
Just as Tracey opened his mouth to comment, something huge came out of the water. The gang was surprised to see it was a Magikarp, but it was twice the size of a normal one.
"Whoa! This Magikarp is huge!" Ritchie stared at the floundering pokemon.
"I don't even think Professor Oak has this recorded in the Pokédex!" Molly was amazed by the sheer size of the water pokemon.
"Amazing or not, we need to figure out how to get it back in the water." Ash said, worried for the Magikarp's safety.
Tracey still couldn't believe his eyes, "Normally a Magikarp this size would only be about a meter, but this one's three meters!"
"We still need to figure out a way to get this Magikarp back in the water." Misty reminded them.
"Easier said than done. Even if we all tried to lift it back in the water, it wouldn't move an inch." Ritchie pointed out.
"And we can't get near it anyway since it keeps flapping around." Tomo added.
"Then what can we do?" Serena worriedly wondered.
"You better move away from him." All of them turn to the source of the voice and it turns out to be none other than Nurse Joy, "It isn't safe to get too close when it's in this condition. He's upset because he's running low on calcium."
"Ash and I were right, it was you who passed us." Tracey said, smiling.
Misty was impressed by how buff she looked, "Wow, you do look a little more buff than the usual Nurse Joy." She marveled.
Nurse Joy giggled before going over to the flapping Magikarp. Not only did she bravely walk up to it, but also set it upright like it was no big deal. She rubbed the side of Magikarp's face, "Well now, how are you feeling today?" She asked.
Magikarp responded by enjoying the caress it was feeling.
"Look how she's handling that Magikarp." Misty was a little taken back by how docile it was now.
"Kinda reminds me of Ash when he calms down wild Pokémon." Ritchie comments.
"Huh, what do you mean? I can't calm down wild Pokémon." Ash denied and sweatdropped by the dry expressions on everyone's face, "Don't look at me like that…"
"I've got exactly what you need, Chansey bring the calcium tablets, please?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Chansey (Here you are)." Chansey gave her the tablets.
Nurse Joy gave them to Magikarp, the water Pokemon became even more happy.
"All better." Suddenly, she lifted it above her head and tossed it back into the water. Finally back in the water, Magikarp had little heart shapes surrounding it.
"And I feel the same way about you." Nurse Joy blew Magikarp a kiss, making it blush.
"Magikarp's got a crush on Nurse Joy." Tomo whispered in Molly's ear.
"It's so cute!" She whispered back.
Nurse Joy waved goodbye to the little Magikarp, "Bye, bye!"
"Nurse Joy, I've gotta ask! Do you paddle from island to island helping Pokémon?" Tracey asked her, eyes gleaming with interest.
"I sure do! Lots of the Orange Islands are too tiny to have their own Pokémon Centers, so my Chansey and I visit the smallest islands." Nurse Joy explained with a smile, "And we do whatever we can find and help the sickest Pokemon we can find."
Tracey was taking notes of everything she was saying, "I knew that was it! Hold still for a moment, Nurse Joy I just wanna get a quick sketch of this! I'll call it, "Nurse Joy The Pokemon's Florence Nightingale."
"That's sweet, thank you!" Nurse Joy thanked Tracey.
The gang proceeded to introduce themselves to the Nurse and she was happy to meet their acquaintance. Suddenly, Molly's stomach began to rumble, "Big brother, I'm hungry." She said, tugging on Ash's jacket.
Nurse Joy smiled, "If you want, why don't you all come with me to my clinic. It's not too far and there's plenty of food." She suggested.
"That'll be great, thank you." Ash gave her his sincerest thanks.
Pokémon Center
Nurse Joy's pokemon Center looked like a small hut, but it had plenty of room on the inside as compared to the outside. Everyone was enjoying the meal the kind nurse set out for them.
"Hey guys, what do you say we help out nurse Joy take care of the pokemon?" Tracey suggested to the group.
"Sounds like a good idea to me." Ash didn't mind helping after she graciously provided them with some food to eat.
After finishing their meal, they go outside to see Nurse Joy treating Lapras. She was giving the water pokemon a thorough exam, "Ash, this Lapras belongs to you, right?" She asked him.
"I wouldn't say Lapras belongs to me, I'm just taking care of her until we can find her mother." Ash answered.
"How sweet of you to take care of such a young pokemon." She complimented him.
"Thank you." He replied.
"And I'm happy to report that Lapras is very healthy. You've taken such good care of her." Nurse Joy praised.
Lapras cooed in agreement.
Ash blushed a little, "I'm just doing what's right, that's all." He said.
Serena giggled at him.
"Nurse Joy, we wanted to ask if it would be okay for us to observe your work." Tracey asked politely.
"Of course! I don't mind at all!" She agreed to let them watch how she works.
Nurse Joy gave them all kayak's, but keeping up with her isn't exactly easy. When they finally did catch up she would already be gone with Chansey in tow. First they watched her treat a sick Cloyster and the boys volunteered to dive underwater with her to watch her treat a sick Shellder
Everything was going fine until Ritchie's oxygen was getting low, and he was nearly drowned by an excited Destiny that just wanted to play.
After that little scare they were back in Nurse Joy's clinic. Ritchie was wrapped in a warm blanket and given a hot beverage.
"Man, doing what she does really isn't easy." Ritchie sighed as he finished taking a sip of his drink.
"I don't know how she does it." Tracey wondered.
"Wouldn't it be better to just run a Pokémon Center like all the other Nurse Joy's?" Misty asked Nurse Joy.
Nurse Joy smiled at her, "It would, but I've been dedicated to do this since I was little."
"But why?" Serena asked her.
She starts to explain, "When I was a little girl, I found a tiny injured Magikarp on the beach and decided to take it home and nurse it back to health."
"After it was healthy enough, I returned it to the ocean. No sooner after that encounter my family and I went on a boat trip. I accidentally fell in the water, scaring my relatives." She continued, "But I didn't drown because I was saved by a Magikarp that was bigger than your average one."
"Wow, what an amazing story." Molly said.
"Ursa (It is)." Teddiursa agreed.
"Since that day, I've dedicated myself to helping every Pokémon I come across, even those without trainers." Nurse Joy said.
"That's really amazing. Hey, that Magikarp in your story wouldn't happen to be the very same one from a long time ago, would it?" Misty asked her just to be sure.
Nurse Joy nodded at her with a smile, "That's right, we've been friends ever since that day."
Talk about a long lasting friendship.
Who's That Pokémon?
It's…Chansey!
"Chansey!"
Outside, there's a sign of an upcoming storm. Nurse Joy sees this, but doesn't get scared off.
"I have one more stop for the day and I'll be done." She was already preparing to head outside.
"Hold on! Don't you think that's dangerous? What if you get caught up in the storm?" Tracey was worried for her safety and doesn't think it's a good idea for her to be out there.
"I appreciate your concern but I'll be alright." She assured him, leaving the clinic and rowing away on her kayak.
"I'm a little worried. I know she said she'd be okay, but still…" Ash didn't think she should be out there either.
"We should follow her just in case something happens." Tracey said.
Everyone agreed with his suggestion. The waves were hard to ride through as expected, but that wasn't going to stop them. Thankfully they were able to spot Nurse Joy and call out to her from behind.
She was surprised to see them, "What in the world are you kids doing out here?!" She shouted.
"We were worried and followed you!" Tracey yelled.
"Guys, look out! It's a big wave!" Ritchie warned everyone.
But it was too late as all of them were sent flying out of their kayak's. Thinking quickly, Ash sent out Lapras and Gyarados to help keep them afloat.
Using the two water Pokemon, they were able to follow her much more easily this time. Turns out her last stop was to help some baby Seels.
Before continuing to help the other's they decided to take a short break in an Island.
"Nurse Joy, I'm so sorry! If it wasn't for me insisting we help you then we wouldn't have gotten in your way." Tracey apologized.
"It's okay, your heart was in the right place so I know you meant well." She smiled at him, "For now though, why don't we all take a little break."
"Sounds good to me." Ritchie sighed and leaned against Misty.
"Same here." She agreed, leaning against him.
Ash and Serena were doing the same, as were Molly and Tomo.
All was quiet and it was making them feel more relaxed.
It was peaceful…
…until it no longer was.
A sudden sound gets everyone's attention as they see a net coming right at them.
"Pikachu, use Iron Tail!" Ash ordered quickly.
Pikachu wasted no time slicing the net up with his Iron Tail attack.
"That net could only belong to—" Ash started to say.
"—Us, twerp!" Meowth gloated.
Ash gave the cat Pokémon a dry expression, "Unfortunately." He said, dryly.
His dry response ticked Meowth off, "Why, you little twerp!"
"What do you three want?!" Misty demanded.
Ignoring their stupid intro the gang prepared to send them blasting off once the trio declared they wanted to take Pikachu and Chansey.
But they didn't have to do anything since Magikarp came out of nowhere and started tackling Team Rocket's submarine.
"What's with this annoying Magikarp?!" Jessie exclaimed in anger, "Get lost!"
"Magikarp, please help us!" Nurse Joy pleaded to her friend.
Hearing her earnest pleas motivated Magikarp to evolve! Everyone stared in awe as Magikarp evolved into a huge Gyarados.
Gyarados glared down at Team Rocket, making them flinch.
"N-Nice Gyarados…down boy…" James said to try and calm it down.
This obviously doesn't work as Gyarados sends them flying away by swinging its tail at them.
The group cheers, but it soon turns to worry as they believed Gyarados was going to attack them next. Instead of attacking then, Gyarados nuzzles Nurse Joy.
Serena smiled, "Guess it still has a crush on Nurse Joy even as Gyarados."
"Thank goodness for that." Misty sighed, tired from today's events.
Nurse Joy finishes the task of helping the baby Seel's as the group admires the relationship she has with the Pokémon. The kind nurse tells Ash to head to Navel Island for the next Orange League Gym.
With that, they set off once again.
And so, our heroes now learned the importance the relationship one has with Pokémon. Taking everything the r learned from Nurse Joy, our heroes set sail once again.
Stay tuned, as the journey continues.
