Chapter 4

As Aether and Paimon walked out from the Fortress, Paimon started asking questions.

"So, what was that back there? You suddenly wanted to desperately get out of there?"

"I think I figured something out." Aether said.

"You did?" Paimon asked.

"I think I know who the sea dragon is." Aether said.

"You do? Wait..." Paimon gasped, realizing who Aether is referring to. "You think the sea dragon is Neuvillette?"

"Could be. All we can do is ask." Aether said.

"Wriothesley said that he went into the water." Paimon said, looking at the sea.

"Then let's go find him." Aether said.

As the two swam through the sea, they began thinking that maybe Neuvillette wasn't in the sea. They resurfaced so they can think and chat.

"We've searched everywhere. If Neuvillette really is in the sea, it would be hard to find him." Paimon said.

True. Based on the description, he could easily blend in with the sea's surroundings but...

"Paimon, remember the huge dragon skeleton in Elynas?" Aether asked.

"Yeah? What about it?" Paimon asked.

"Since Neuvillette is the reincarnation of the previous Hydro Dragon, maybe he ended up becoming the same size as the dragon remains." Aether said.

Paimon gasped. "You're right! But how do we know he found him if he's that big?"

"Just look for the familiar markings on his fins." Aether said.

"You mean the markings that are seen on his coat?" Paimon asked.

"Exactly." Aether said.

"Then it shouldn't be too hard to miss. Let's continue finding Neuvillette." Paimon said.

Underwater. Underwater where it's safe. Nothing to be afraid of. Afraid. He's not supposed to be afraid. He's supposed to be the great mighty Hydro Dragon Sovereign and yet...

And yet he's still not fully versed in expressing his emotions. Neuvillette sighed. He's been underwater for hours and he still couldn't transform back. His extensive dragon powers must've been triggered when he made contact with the Primordial Sea.

Then, in the far distance, he saw a familiar yellow color and and a small white floating object.

He raised his head as he saw the Traveler and Paimon heading his way. He wished he could call out to them but he might end up with a roar again and not words.

So instead, he raised his head higher so they could see him, his sea horns glowing bright and beautiful.

Paimon's eyes widened and pointed at Neuvillette. Aether looked to where she was pointing and his eyes widened too. Together they swam up towards Neuvillette.

He was huge! They were very tiny compared to him. They swam up to his bright purple eyes and waved at him.

Neuvillette would've smiled if he could but he wasn't sure how that would look on a dragon.

Aether pointed up towards the surface, hinting to Paimon that they needed to talk. They swam up towards the surface, Neuvillette watching them go.

They burst out of the surface, Aether shaking water from his head.

"We found him! Didn't expect him to be so huge! No wonder he went into hiding." Paimon said.

"It seems like he still can't speak." Aether pointed out.

"Right. And we can't speak back underwater. Is there another place we can hide Neuvillette?" Paimon asked.

Aether thought for a moment and then he found the answer. "Poisson."

"Poisson? But isn't that where Navia is? That means we would have to tell her about Neuvillette." Paimon said.

"We can trust her." Aether said.

"Alright. But how are we going to let Neuvillette know?" Paimon asked.

As if she summoned him, Neuvillette burst out from the sea, water cascading from his body as he arched his neck to look down at Aether and Paimon.

They looked up at him in awe. He was very majestic outside of the ocean. Paimon floated up to hover next to his eye.

"Neuvillette, we're going to take you to Poisson but we would have to tell Navia about you." Paimon said.

Neuvillette pondered on this but then growled deeply in this throat, agreeing with them.

"Uh, I guess we'll take that as a yes?" Paimon said, looking at Aether.

Aether nodded and they swam to the shore, Neuvillette following them as he dove back into the sea.
