Chapter 4: Phantom 3
"Congratulations, Danny." Sam said. "You've maintained three of you for a whole five minutes."
"Thank you, Sam." Danny replied as the duplicates vanished.
"Think of the possibilities." Tucker said. "With you being able to become three, you can have one duplicate hunting ghosts and another one distracting your parents while you date Natasha."
"Those are ghostly duplicates, not shadow clones, Tucker." Sam pointed out with a frown. "Speaking of Natasha, Danny, did you really tell her about Vlad?"
"I had to since Vlad knows about her, Sam." Danny answered.
"And she's still going to Floody Waters with you?" Sam asked, having hoped it'd scare Natasha away.
"Yes." Danny happily answered, oblivious to Sam's feelings on the matter.
"Did you buy a new swimsuit for the occasion?" Tucker asked. "After all, you have a Princess to Empress."
"Eeeeewwwwww." Danny and Sam expressed their opinion about the techno geek's joke.
"Come on." Tucker moaned. "My joke wasn't that bad."
"No, it was worse." Sam replied.
"Good one, Sam." Danny agreed, making Tucker even more frustrated.
The next day, Danny was waiting for Natasha at the bus station. She soon arrived. "Did I take too long?" She asked.
"Not at all, Natasha." Danny answered. "May I escort you to our planned destination, my Princess?" He jokingly asked.
Natasha giggled. "That's cute but don't joke like that."
Unbeknownst to them, Tucker and Sam were already at Floody Waters. "Where are they?" Sam asked.
"Probably still at the bus station Danny said he'd pick her up, Sam." Tucker answered. "I don't even remember how you convinced me to come."
"By reminding you it's your chance to see Princess Natasha in a bikini outside that stupid poster." Sam grumbled and Tucker smiled.
"Yeah!" He said and then noticed something that ended his happiness. "Trouble ahead."
Tucker and Sam saw Dash and some of his teammates. "You remember the plan, right?" Dash asked with an evil grin.
"Yes, but I didn't think it'd come to that when I told you I overheard Fenton telling his friends about his dating plans." Kwan answered.
"Jinx Fenton must pay for making us lose and getting me into detention, Kwan." The bully explained.
"How was it Fenton's fault that you got a detention?" Kwan asked.
"Because Mr. Lancer wouldn't have given me that detention had we not lost that game and that loss was Fenton's fault." Dash answered in exasperation. "How many times must I remind you of that?"
"This is a water park." Kwan pleaded. "Can't we forget Fenton and stare at the girls?"
"He's got a point, Dash." Dale commented and started looking at Paulina and Star.
"Feel free to look at my perfect skin after humiliating that loser and his girlfriend with no taste." Paulina ordered.
"And speaking of that, how do you plan to humiliate anyone by throwing water balloons at them inside a water park?" Star asked, wondering what Dash had in mind.
"That's not exactly water, if you know what I mean." Dash explained.
"Gross." The two cheerleaders said and walked away in disgust.
Eventually, Danny and Natasha arrived at the water park. "Well, you know your way around here, Danny." Natasha commented. "Where do we go first?"
"Well, it was a tiring trip since somebody didn't want to go Air Phantom." Danny teasingly said.
"I wanted to see the sights from a normal perspective and didn't want to chance somebody would see you transforming." Natasha replied.
"Either way, may I offer you some refreshments?" Danny asked Natasha.
"Yes, it does sound like a good idea, Danny." Natasha answered.
Meanwhile, Tucker and Sam were trying to look for Danny to warn him about the bullies. "Sam, we can't even be sure he and Natasha already arrived." Tucker pleaded. "We should've split up like I suggested."
"And let you stalk the cheerleaders while Danny needs to be warned against the jocks?" Sam asked. "No way! Like Natasha isn't enough of a trouble."
"Of course she isn't, Sam." Tucker argued. "She's not a trouble at all."
"Tucker, she knows Danny's secret." Sam pointed out. "Who knows what she might be planning to use him for."
"A small price to date a Princess." Tucker proudly said.
"Boys." Sam muttered as she rolled her eyes.
Meanwhile, Danny and Natasha were enjoying their sodas when a guy approached them. "Yo, beauty, how about you ditch that loser and hang out with a real man?" The guy said.
"How about you introduce me to that real man you speak of?" Natasha asked back, to Danny's joy. "And my boyfriend isn't a loser."
"What do you see in him?" The boy asked in disdain. "Is he some sort of foreign royalty?" A badum crash could be heard.
"For starters, he doesn't ask random strangers to ditch their boyfriends for him." Natasha answered.
"Big deal." The boy said. "If I were scrawny like him, I wouldn't either."
"She already turned you down, dude." Danny said.
"You're not worth my time." The guy said as he noticed an employee approaching the area. Seeing Natasha wouldn't want anything with him, he left.
"Fenton, have you already seen Dash?" Danny heard Paulina ask.
"Paulina, Star, I haven't seen him." Danny replied.
"Be warned." Star said. "He's planning to pelt you with water balloons with not-water in them, if you know what he means."
"Not that we care about you and that girl with no taste but we find Dash's idea disgusting." Paulina explained as she's not too shallow to understand Danny would wonder why they'd help him. "If they ask, we never warned you, loser."
"Uh, thanks?" Danny reluctantly said.
"Whatever." Paulina replied and she and Star walked away.
"What were they doing with Fenton?" Dale asked and he, Dash and Kwan watched them.
"Probably distracting the loser so he'd be an easy target." Dash answered as he tossed the balloon and hit Danny. "Ha! That's payback for jinxing my game! And that's not water if you know what I mean."
"I know and I am disgusted." The previously seen employee said. "And the three of you have already been warned about this behavior. The three of you are hereby banned from Floody Waters for two months."
"Unfair!" Dale protested. "Dash's the only one who tossed the balloon."
"You were with him." The employee argued.
After that experience, Danny and Natasha decided to enjoy the rides. A few minutes later, they heard someone calling for them. "Danny!" Sam shouted. "Natasha!" Tucker shouted.
"What're you guys doing here?" Natasha asked. She didn't sound accusing but Sam decided to take it as one.
"None of your business, but we came here to warn Danny about Dash." Sam replied.
"Too late but at least Danny and I had the pleasure of seeing those bullies being escorted away from the premises." Natasha commented. "Thanks anyway."
"Dash and his friends being expelled?" Tucker asked. "I can't believe we missed it."
"At least you know we can enjoy our visit without worrying about those bullies." Danny commented.
"And I got a live view of Natasha in a bikini." Tucker replied, making Danny glare at him. "Sorry, but you know she's a model."
"Just because she's a Princess." Sam muttered.
"Comments like that make me believe your real reason to resent me is the fact I'm dating Danny." Natasha replied, shocking Sam.
"Don't worry, Natasha." Danny reassured his girlfriend. "Sam and I are just friends."
"Yeah, friends." Sam uneasily replied and then muttered "Clueless."
"Why do people call me that?" Danny asked and then felt his ghost sense. "What now?"
"BEWARE!" The Box Ghost said as he revealed himself. "I am the Box Ghost, master of all things cardboard and square."
"And of boring speeches, it seems." Natasha replied.
"Believe me or not, Natasha, that title isn't undisputed." Sam commented.
"Let's see you laugh once I unleash the contents of… THE LOST AND FOUND BOX OF DEATH!" The Box Ghost said as he produced a box and browsed through its content. "A swim cap? How can I harm people with this? An earring? If I find its match I can give them to the Lunch Lady Ghost." He commented, unknowingly reminding Team Phantom of Box Lunch. "A wallet full of money? Who lost that?"
"I lost it!" Several people, Tucker included, shouted.
"It says here the wallet belongs to someone named Eric Ishiyama." The Box Ghost said and everyone lowered their hands. "There's nothing here I can use." The Box Ghost said and left, saying "BEWARE!" One more time.
"Not worth the use of a thermos." Danny muttered.
After the Box Ghost left, Danny and Natasha enjoyed more rides and left Tucker and Sam behind. "Danny, we're reaching the time of the year the O'Briens go on their family vacation."
Danny became sad. "Does that mean no dates until you're back?" He asked.
"Unless you come with us." Natasha suggested. "Would your parents allow it?"
"It depends." Danny replied. "Where are you and the O'Briens going, Natasha?"
"We usually vote over it, Danny." Natasha answered. "Last year, I was the tie-breaker because each O'Brien had a different idea."
"Sounds democratic but I need to have an idea of where you're going when I ask for my parents' permission." Danny told his girlfriend.
Natasha then told Danny about the vacation options and which one they took. "Rain at a camping trip?" Danny asked. "Talk about bad luck. Probably that won't be an option this year."
"True." Natasha replied, not wanting to get into details about the O'Briens' allergies since she didn't feel it to be her secret to tell.
"Please, vote for the resort, Natasha." Danny asked her.
"Consider it done, Danny." Natasha eagerly replied.
After the date ended, Danny went home and told his parents about Natasha's plans. "Already reaching the stage where you join her family outings, son?" Jack proudly asked. "Sure, it's her exchange family but… AWESOME! I knew she couldn't resist the Fenton charm! No girl can!"
"Sam could." Danny replied and didn't understand his family's reactions to his comment.
"Not to mention the cheerleaders." Jazz teasingly added.
"Some girls are too shallow to see beyond a jock's build." Jack commented.
"Not necessarily." Danny commented back, remembering how Paulina and Star warned him. "Anyway, may I go with them?"
"Only if it's not the camping trip." Maddie replied.
Later on, Danny was on a video call with his friends. "Danny, you're not really going on vacation, are you?" Sam asked with a frown. "What if a ghost attacks?"
"You just call me and I'll fly back home after making up an excuse to the O'Briens, Sam." Danny calmly replied.
"Just don't make a prank call to interfere with the date." Tucker added, earning a digital glare from the goth.
"Tucker, that's the kind of thing I'd expect from Paulina." Danny replied, earning a smile from Sam, until he added "Sam wouldn't do it even if she had a crush on any of my identities. Why're you looking at me like that, Tucker?" He asked upon noticing the techno geek's smile.
"Clueless." Tucker said still smiling while Sam said the same word with a frown.
"That aside, does Natasha know any Countesses or Duchesses around our age?" Tucker asked. "Any noble girls would do."
"If she knows, she hasn't talked about any of them, Tucker." Danny answered.
"Don't bring it up with her, Danny." Tucker said. "It might make me seem desperate."
"Might?" Sam scoffed. "You are desperate."
"Since we're here, how about we play Doomed?" Danny asked and his friends agreed.
As usual, Sam defeated them. "Congratulations, Sam." Danny said. "I had a thought. What if we invite Natasha to our next Doomed session?"
"No way, Danny." Sam firmly replied.
"What happened, Sam?" Danny asked. "Afraid she'll be even better at the game than you?"
"Clueless." Sam muttered.
"Why do people keep calling me that?" Danny asked.
