Chapter 28: Dash's Gold

At some abandoned mine, Dash Baxter was trying to find gold and seemed to have found it. "I'm rich! I'm rich!" He happily exclaimed. "Now I won't have to look for some low-paying job working for one of the nerds I used to humiliate! I could even buy Nasty Burger and allow the next quarterbacks to pick on the next nerds!"

Meanwhile, at Fentonworks, Danny, his sister and his parents were watching an episode of "Married… With Children". "All that gold." Danny commented. "Don't the Bundys think it's too good to be true?" he asked.

"Even Jefferson and Marcy fell for it." Jack said. "I like how Bud doesn't know he's actually telling the truth when he tells his sister the gold she found isn't real."

"Even Dash wouldn't be that dumb." Danny commented.

"You're still thinking of him?" Jazz asked. "You still have inner demons."

"Keep your therapy sessions away from me, Jazz." Danny demanded.

"Yes, Your Highness." Jazz mocked her brother with her reply.

"Jazzypants, Princess Natasha said nobody needs to call your brother that before they become engaged and formally announce it." Jack stated, assuming Jazz believed she already had to be that formal. Nobody there decided it was worth it to correct him.

"I've just remembered a Power Rangers Zeo episode where Bulk and Skull believed to have found gold but were told otherwise during the credits." Danny commented.

"Which was ironic since they had a monster with a golden armor as their servant back then." Jazz added.

"I thought they considered Rito and Goldar as their pets." Danny replied. "Didn't they use that word in David's debut episode?"

"Who?" Jazz asked.

"Tommy's twin brother, Jazz." Danny answered.

"I don't remember, little brother." Jazz said.

"Okay." Danny accepted his sister's response.

His cellphone then rang. "Natasha?"

"Danny, how're you doing?" Natasha asked.

"Just watching an episode of "Married... With Children" with my sister and my parents, Natasha." Danny replied. "What about you?"

"I'm in the middle of a break from reading treaties with my Dad." Natasha answered and, for a while, Danny didn't know what to say.

"So, any plans for this weekend?" Danny asked his girlfriend.

"My parents and I would have lunch with the King of Spain but he had to call it off over some emergency." Natasha answered and Danny couldn't tell if she was joking or not.

'I don't even know if Spain has a King or not.' Danny thought.

"In that case, would you like to watch a movie with me in Amity Park, Natasha?" Danny asked.

"We interrupt this broadcast to inform about a ghost attack at City Hall." Someone at TV said.

"We'll discuss it later, Danny." Natasha replied. "Bye."

"Bye, Natasha." Danny said and ended the call.

The next weekend, Danny and Natasha watched a movie. "The movie was good but I'd rather eat something now." Natasha commented.

"Nasty Burger, Natasha?" Danny suggested.

"Nasty Burger, Danny." Natasha agreed.

At the Nasty Burger, Danny and Natasha were surprised with who they saw working there. "Dash Baxter?" He asked.

"Yes, Phantom." Dash replied and then noticed Natasha's presence. "Princess."

"I thought you had a job elsewhere to pay for your college education." Danny commented.

"He got himself into a huge debt believing he found gold but it was fool's gold." A patron happily commented. Several people hated Dash Baxter and, with his days as king of Casper High over, were no longer afraid of him.

"No wonder Dash was the one to find it." Danny commented.

"I heard that!" Dash complained.

"I don't care, Dash." Danny replied.

"I should..." Dash threatened but his boss interrupted him.

"You should clean up table 5, Baxter." Irving "Third Degree" Burns said.

"Again?" Dash asked in frustration. "Somebody must be doing it on purpose to make my job harder."

"Baxter, it's not a crime to be accident-prone." Irving Burns said. 'Especially when people like you have to clean up afterwards.' He thought.

"Natasha, I think I'm going to enjoy this date." Danny commented.

"Where does he usually work?" Natasha asked.

"At a shop that sells women's shoes and accessories, Natasha." Danny answered.

"His parents should've named him Al." Natasha commented.

"I know, right?" Danny asked.
