Ken Valbrandur (2): Well that was my idea and I have to respect the canon a little bit, the duel is going to be epic, I assure you. Same here, both are in my opinion, peak VRAINS.

The Master Duel between Varis, the leader of the Knights of Hanoi, wielder of Borreload Riot Dragon and a new Link Cyberse monster, and Soulburner, the wielder of the Salamangreat Deck, the origin of the Fire Ignis and the one fighting for Kiku's life, has only begun.

They were inside of the Data Storm, something that no one other than Varis could even think off was even possible, with only standing on a few rocks as they looked down to show the regular Master Duel style format beneath them.

Soulburner, Flame and Varis were the only ones that are in there, and the only ones that could actually communicate with each other as almost all types of communication were lost, making the only important thing in the current moment, the duel to decide the faith of Flame, the rest of the Ignis and The Cyberse World.

Not to mention the mysterious card that was inside of Varis' deck, which they had to be careful of.

Master Duel!

"Let's begin this duel, Soulburner!" yelled Varis as he gripped his hand as Soulburner narrowed his eyes and looked at him with determination.

"Right, Varis!" he said as he readied his duel disk at him. Flame narrowed his eyes at the man.

"I'll start!" he said as he swiped his hand to reveal his hand. He smirked as he found a decent combo to start the duel, "I'll begin by activating Graceful Charity!" he said as the card appeared in front of them. "With this, I get to draw 3 cards from my deck!" he said as he drew the 3 cards that appeared on the top of his duel disk.

He then swiped his hand once more, revealing 7 cards as he picked one of them, "Unfortunately, I have to discard 2 cards for this effect." he said as two cards disappeared from his hand, but then a card returned to his hand, shocking both of them.

"Hey, what gives?!" yelled Soulburner as Varis smirked.

"Well, sorry for not telling you this, but once per duel, when my Extra Deck Chain is sent to the graveyard outside of its effect, I get to add it back to my hand." he said as he revealed the card, before it disappeared.

He then picked a card from his hand, "I now summon my Gateway Dragon!" he said as then on his side of the field appeared a small metallic dragon that was light brown, with small wings, with 3 hands with a golden gate behind the dragon.

(Gateway Dragon: Level 4 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1600. Defense: 1400.)

Varis then pushed his hand forward, "I then activate my monster's effect! You see, once per turn, I get to special summon 1 Level 4 or lower Dark Dragon from my hand!" he said as Soulburner took a small step back as the dragon went behind the gate, opening it with ease with the inside being light blue.

"So come out, Sniffer Dragon!" he said as from the gate appeared a small dragon. It had black armour around its knees, tail, arms, shoulders, chest and head as it had yellow lining around the armour parts. The dragon had red skin around its arms, legs and the back of its body, but the front it is around the front.

(Sniffer Dragon: Level 2 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 800. Defense: 400.)

"Now, when my Sniffer Dragon is summoned on my field, it sniffs out another Sniffer Dragon from my Deck to my hand." he said as he took a card from his deck.

"So he gets a monster on the field, while making sure that his hand is never empty like the Gore's?" said Flame as he crossed his arms.

"Not good." said Soulburner as Varis smirked.

"How correct you are! I now manifest my circuit!" he said as then a circuit appeared from his hand, "The Summoning Conditions are 2 level 4 or lower Dark Dragons, so I set my Gateway Dragon and Sniffer Dragon in the Link Arrows!" he said as his two monsters flew into the Link Arrows.

"I Link Summon! Link-2, Twin Triangle Dragon!" he said as from the circuit appeared a small dragon of Varis' size, as it had purple colouring around its arms, legs, back and feet, with two yellow horns going to the back, with black colouring around the entire body, with 2 Triangles around its arms that were purple.

(Twin Triangle Dragon: Link - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1200. Link-2. Link Arrows: Middle-Left and Bottom-Middle.)

"That's…actually kinda lame compared to the others." admitted Soulburner as Varis smirked.

"Well, I don't think you will call this lame! When this card is Link Summoned, I get to pay 500 of my life points." he said as he glew blue for a bit, (LP: 4000 - 3500.) as then a card appeared on the top of his duel disk to which he took it, "So I can special summon a Level 5 or higher monster in my graveyard! So come out, Background Dragon!"

On his side of the field, appeared a dragon with massive bulky armour that was golden, as it was around its legs, arms, shoulders, back and chest, as he had dark green skin, with blood red sharp as swords claws with light green eyes. It was on Twin Triangle Dragon's bottom Link.

(Background Dragon: Level 5 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1600. Defense: 1800.)

Varis then swiped his hand as he looked at his hand, and realized that it was perfect for this duel. One for his Field Spell, one for his Links, and the rest for his deck. He grinned, which made Flame and Soulburner uncomfortable.

"I set three cards, and end my turn." he said as three cards were set vertically behind Background and Twin Triangle Dragons, before they disappeared.

Turn 2. Soulburner - 4000 lp - 5 cards

"Alright! It is now my turn!" he said as he drew the top card of his deck, and then showed it towards his partner as he placed his finger on his chin to calculate the best possible turn they could have, as he then pointed at one of his cards.

"This one." he said as Soulburner nodded.

"Right, thanks Flame!" he said as he took the card and placed it on his duel disk, "I summon my Salamangreat Foxy!" On his side of the field appeared a small fox that had blue fur around its body and tail, with its tail being black while being on fire, as around the front it was light blue, and there were some red lining around the body with emerald green eyes.

(Salamangreat Foxy: Level 3 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1000. Defense: 1200.)

"We now activate Foxy's effect!" Flame said as he pushed his arm forward as Soulburner took 3 cards from his deck, "When he is summoned, we get to look at the top 3 cards in our deck, and if one of them is a Salamangreat card, we can add it to our hand, and the rest are shuffled back to our deck!" he said as they looked at the 3 cards.

It was Salamangreat Salamandra, Raigeki and Monster Reborn, Soulburner gritted his teeth and Flame sighed as they took one of them, and then return them to their deck, "We pick Salamangreat Salamandra!"

Soulburner then took a card from his hand, "Now, when a Salamangreat monster is special summoned on my field, I get to special summon my Salamangreat Fowl to my field!" he said as they took a card from his hand and slammed it.

On his field appeared a peacock as its feathers were dark blue and green, while some of them were on fire, with its feathers on the actual bird was dark jet black, with crystals on its head and neck as it had small black legs.

(Salamangreat Fowl: Level 4 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1800. Defense: 200.)

"Now, I believe it is time for me to blaze the circuit!" he said as fire appeared from his fingers as he then, a circuit appeared form it, "The Summoning Conditions is 1 Level 4 or lower Cyberse Monster, so I set my Fowl in the Link Arrow!" he said as his monster went to the Link Arrow in fiery speeds.

"I Link Summon! Link-1, Salamangreat Balelynx!" on his side of the field appeared a lynx on his side of the field appeared a lynx that had red colouring all over the body, with a hint of black, gray and pink all over the tiny cat, as it had jet boosters on the back, with a red gem on the top, with its tail on fire.

(Salamangreat Balelynx: Link - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 500. Link-1. Link Arrows: Bottom-Middle.)

"We activate the effect of our Balelynx! When it is LInk Summoned on our field," a card popped out of Soulburner's deck as he took it, "We can add a Salamangreat Sanctuary from our deck!" he said as Soulburner grinned, but his grin fell as soon as Varis smirked.

"Why thank you, because I activate one of my set cards! Mind Crush!" the card appeared on the field as the leader of the Knights Of Hanoi began explaining, "With this, I get to guess 1 card from your hand, and if you do have it, you have to discard it! I will choose your Salamangreat Sanctuary!" A purple mist appeared from the card as it went to Soulburner's hand, and a card was destroyed.

"If you thought that you will have your Field Spell that quick to your hand, think again! This duel will be impossible for you to win!" Varis stated as Soulburner gritted his teeth.

"He's right, but it's not like I am going to admit it," he muttered as he looked at his hand as he took one of the cards in his hand, "Well, I still have some moves, because if I Link Summoned this turn, I get to special summon a Salamangreat Mole to my field, next to Balelynx's Link Arrow!"

He said as then on his side of the field appeared a small mole as its claws were on fire, as it was a brown mole, wearing gray armour around its shoulders, head, legs and back that had a spike on top of it, with its eyes being green and having a large line on the back.

(Salamangreat Mole: Level 1 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 0. Defense: 0.)

"Soulburner, summon our ace at this very moment!" said Flame as his partner grinned as from the tips of his fingers appeared fire as hot as his actual flames.

"I was planning on that, pal! I blaze the circuit once more!" he said as he pushed his arm towards the circuit, "The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Fire Monsters, so I set my Balelynx, Mole and Foxy in the Link Arrows!" he said as all three of his monsters went to the circuit at the speed of turning to flames as they went to 3 of its links.

"I Link Summon! Our ace in the hole, Link-3, Salamangreat Heatleo!" on his side of the field appeared his favourite monster yet, it was a lion, the king of the jungle, as its three heads, two on the hands, roared in power as fire was coming out of the entire body, as it had wings on the back of it, with it having small gems all over the body, with some parts of it being black, with emerald green eyes.

(Salamangreat Heatleo: Link - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 2300. Link-3. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Bottom-Right and Bottom-Left.)

"You summoned your ace at this moment?" asked Varis with an unreadable expression on his face.

"That's right! And I activate his special ability! When this majestic beast is Link summoned, I get to shuffle one Spell or Trap on the field! And I choose the mid-" Soulburner's words stopped as Varis pushed his arm forward.

"Stop right there! I activate my other Trap card, Extra Deck Chain!" he said as a trap card revealed itself, with the image showing a chain going to the copies of the Cyber End Dragon that was on fire, "When a monster from the Extra Deck is summoned on the field, I get to activate this card!"

The chain came from the Trap as it went through the heart of Heatleo, shocking the duo, "With this, I can banish all copies of that monster from your Extra Deck and in the graveyard," Soulburner's Extra Deck then began to glow as he then saw the Heatleo's burst, "with the added effect of it negating your Heatleo's effect for the rest of the duel!"

"What?!" yelled Soulburner as he realized that he can no longer use the full power of his best monster in this important duel.

"That's right, Soulburner. I made sure that during this entire duel, you will realize that you can not defeat me, not as long as I have 1 life point remaining, even if I have to destroy all of your resources, I will make sure that I win this duel." said Varis as he narrowed his eyes and Soulburner gritted his teeth.

"Well, we still have some tricks on our sleeves! We activate the effect of our Salamangreat Salamandra in our hand!" yelled Flame as Soulburner took the card in his hand, "We can special summon a Salamangreat monster in our hands whose total level is less then or equal to the total number of Link Arrows on the field. There are a total of 5 Link Arrows," Flame stated as Twin Triangle Dragon's and Heatleo's Link Arrows started to glow, "which is lower than Jack Jaguar's Level of 4 so come out!"

"You heard the man, come out!" On his side of the field appeared a jaguar whose fur was light brown, dark blue, light black all around its body, as it had blue eyes, and 6 pairs of spikes that were on fire.

(Salamangreat Jack Jaguar: Level 4 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1800. Defense: 1200.)

Soulburner thought of dealing attacking Twin Triangle with Heatleo, but due to Jack's attack being the same as Background Dragon's defense points, he had to destroy all of his resources. "Battle! Heatleo attacks your Background Dragon! Heat Soul!" he said as his monster roared.

Heatleo raised its fist that was covered in flames as hot as magma as it charged towards the dragon and smashed it with full force of a bomb, making it explode.

"Now, Jack Jaguar attacks your Twin Triangle Dragon! Fire Fang!" Jack Jaguar's teeth began to heathen up to high amounts as it then began charging towards Varis' Link monster, and it bit the monster so hard that it exploded, but Varis didn't even flinch at the attack.

Varis: 3500 - 2900 life points

Soulburner: 4000 lp

Soulburner then took 2 cards from his hand, "I will then set 2 cards face down and call it a turn." he said as two cards were set vertically as they then disappeared. He gritted his teeth as Varis didn't even look worried at his current situation that was in front of him.

Turn 3. Varis - 2900 lp - 2 cards

"Looks like I have to get serious." said Varis as Soulburner slightly gulped.

"Wait a minute, you have been holding back?" asked Soulburner in slight fear as Varis grinned.

"Perhaps. Let's see if you can handle this!" he said as he drew the top card of his deck and then looked at it, before playing it, "I activate my Spell, Pot of Greed!" he said as the card appeared in front of him as he began explaining the card, "With this, I will draw 2 cards from my deck!" he said as he drew the top 2 cards from his deck.

He then looked at one of the cards, before playing one of them, "I now activate the Spell, Final Offguard!" the card appeared in front of him as he began to explain the effect, "If I have less life points and you have a monster from the Extra Deck, I get to draw 2 cards from my deck!" he said as he drew the card from his deck.

He swiped his hand and then looked at 5 cards from his hand and then his eyes narrowed, before smirking as he knew a good strategy as he then pushed one of them, "I now play, Link Push!" he said as the card revealed itself as the image showed Black Luster Soldier - Soldier Of Chaos being pushed by Dark Magician's magic.

"With this, one Link monster from the Extra Deck is now moved to a main Monster Zone!" he said as he pointed at Heatleo as Soulburner looked confused, but still took the card and placed it on the zone below the Extra Monster Zone.

"Now, if I do that, I have to send a card from my deck from the top for every Link Arrows, so I send 3 of those cards." he said as he looked at the three cards and realized that they were Heavy Interlock, Defrag Dragon and Link Belt Dragon, as they then were sent to the graveyard.

A card then appeared on the top of his duel disk as he then took it, "If I control no monsters on my side of the field, I get to special summon my Background Dragon from my graveyard, with the addition of 1 Level 4 or lower Dragon from my hand!" He said as he then pushed his hand forward, "Come out, Background Dragon!"

On his side of the field appeared Background Dragon in a lower position as its arms were crossed.

(Background Dragon: Level 5 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1600. Defense: 1800.)

A card then appeared on his hand as he then swiped it, "Say hello to my Hibernation Dragon!" On his side of the field appeared a small snake-like dragon that was purple, with the middle being that of a small data chip, with the legs being that of a spider, with a pair of 2 neon blue wings coming out of it.

(Hibernation Dragon: Level 3 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 600. Defense: 1500.)

Soulburner and Flame readied themselves for a new Link-2 monster, but Varis merely reached for his duel disk, "Now I activate the effect of my Hibernation Dragon! When it is special summoned, I get to add 1 Level 4 or lower Dragon monster in my graveyard, so I return my Defrag Dragon." he said as he revealed the monster as it then disappeared into data.

Flame raised an eyebrow at the move as he was confused on why he didn't add Gateway Dragon as it would be easier than just adding a different Dragon, unless… he has a plan.

"Now, meet the second copy of my Sniffer Dragon!" he said as then on his field appeared the 2nd copy of his small red coloured Dragon with some armour.

(Sniffer Dragon: Level 2 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 800. Defense: 400.)

"When he is summoned, I get to-"

"Yeah, yeah, you can add a Sniffer Dragon from your deck, what else is new?" asked Soulburner as he bit his lip as he didn't like Varis smirking.

A card appeared from his duel disk as he took it, "Well since you are impatient, how about I do something different? I discard my Sniffer Dragon," he said as he sent the card to his graveyard as he took a card from his hand, "so I can summon my Defrag Dragon!"

On his side of the field appeared a small dragon that had blue skin, yellow knee caps and mouth, silver tail, yellow claws, sharp, but small wings, as it was mostly red, blue and silver, with the lower part of the wings being green and orange.

(Defrag Dragon: Level 3 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1000. Defense: 600.)

The four dragons all stood there roaring with every second, as the two looked at Varis as he easily summoned 4 dragons in matter of a minute with 0 difficulty, but they felt it was just mere pinch of his power as a duelist.

"Say… don't you think it is time for me to summon a new monster that I got?" asked Varis as they looked at him.

"What are you talking about? What monster could you just ad-" Soulburner's eyes widened when he remembered a card from the Data Storm.

"No way… He is summoning a Link Cyberse monster!" yelled Flame as Varis grinned.

"How right you are! I manifest my circuit!" he said as then a circuit appeared on the field, "The Summonin Conditions are at least 2 Effect monsters, so I set my Defrag Dragon, Sniffer Dragon, Background Dragon and my Hibernation Dragon in the Link Arrows!" His 4 dragons then went into the 4 Link Arrows.

"He is summoning a Link-4!"

"Oh crap!"

Varis then began to chant, "Come forth! The legendary beast that blasts through the Digital world with its fury of destruction! I Link Summon! Link-4, Topologic Bomber Dragon!" On his side of the field appeared a massive beast of destruction. It had a tail that separated itself, but came full circle as the front was orange, but the below part was gray. The monster towered over Heatleo and all of the duelists combined, as the wings of it went around the mighty creature of destruction. It had green light all over the monster, green eyes and the skin was metallic and orange at the same time.

(Topologic Bomber Dragon: Link - Dark Cyberse - Attack: 3000. Link-4. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Bottom-Left, Bottom-Middle and Bottom-Right.)

Soulburner and Flame all stared at the monster in pure fear. Flame looked at the monster as he knew the destructive capabilities of a single Topologic or even just a Topologina monster, and seeing it up and close it is truly terrifying to look at. Sure it was nothing compared to the strongest Topologic monster by the name of Zeroboros, but it was still scary to look at one of them.

"Woah, I have seen so many powerful looking monsters, but that one takes the cake!" yelled Soulburner as he took a step backwards.

"Be careful, Soulburner! Not only do they look threatening, but their abilities are even more terrifying!" yelled Flame as Soulburner readied himself for the move coming up as Varis grinned.

"How right you are! Even if I need to use a monster from the Cyberse, I will make sure that this is the last thing you ever see!" he said as he pushed his arm forward, "I will show you what I mean by that! I activate Defrag Dragon's effect from my graveyard!" he yelled as three cards appeared from his duel disk.

"If it is in the graveyard, I get to banish 3 copies of a monster with the same name!" he yelled as he showed 3 copies of Sniffer Dragon as they then disappeared, as he took one more card from his graveyard as he showed it, "So I can special summon it on my field! Come out, Defrag Dragon!"

On his side of the field appeared Defrag Dragon on one of Bomber Dragon's Link Arrows as it then began to glow as from his mouth and the buttons around the monster.

(Defrag Dragon: Level 3 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1000. Defense: 600.)

"Wait, but why? Why would you summon a monster that isn't as strong as your Bomber Dragon, and right now?" asked Soulburner as Varis grinned.

It meant trouble whenever that man smirked or grinned.

"Because, if did that, my Topologic Bomber Dragon's effect activates! When a monster is special summoned to its Link Arrows, I get to destroy every monster in our Main Monster Zone!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as Soulburner and Flame's eyes widened when they heard that.

"WHAT?!" yelled Soulburner.

"You heard me! Go, Decimation Destruction!" he yelled at top of his lungs as the monster began to glow like a Sun, making Soulburner and Flame cover their eyes while Varis pushed a button so his vision won't be destroyed as theirs, as it pointed towards Defrag Dragon, Heatleo and Jack Jaguar at the same time as from the palms, came out electricity that could destroy an entire town.

The shot easily destroyed Defrag Dragon, but the electricity went slowly for Soulburner's monsters.

"Soulburner! Use Balelynx from our graveyard!" yelled Flame as his partner nodded as he tried to take a card from his graveyard.

"I activate the effect of Balelynx from my graveyard! I can negate the destruction of our Salamangreat monsters!" he said as he tried to reach for his graveyard, but Varis beat them to it.

"I wouldn't trust that so easily! I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Called By The Grave!" the card materialized in front of them as he began to explain his Spell's effect, "I declare one card in your graveyard, and if I do, it is then banished and you can not activate effects with the same name as that banished monster until the end of your turn! I banish Salamangreat Balelynx!" he said as they took a step backwards.

Soulburner watched as a card popped out of his duel disk, only for it to disappear into data material.

He looked up as the blast of energy came closer and closer towards the two of them, and they know that if they don't stop know, nothing but trouble awaits them. "Not so fast! I activate the Trap, Protection!" he said as his set card was then revealed to Varis, revealing a barrier covering Elemental Hero Neos from Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare's blast from its eyes.

"With this Trap card, my monster can not be destroyed by a card effect!" he said as a barrier appeared on his field as it landed directly towards the barrier, not making a scratch, but it did make Soulburner fly to a wall and then he fell to his knees.

Flame looked worried, but his partner quickly stood up with a smirk on his face, "Now the second effect activates! If I negate destruction for my monsters, I get to target one monster on your side of the field and I get to destroy it!" he said as from the Trap was then shot a powerful dark beam of light, but Varis didn't look worried in the slightest.

"Like that's supposed to scare me?! I activate my Quick-Play Spell, Forbidden Lance!" he said as another card appeared on the field as Soulburner gritted his teeth, "With this, my Bomber Dragon loses 800 attack points, but it is immune to Spell and Trap cards for the rest of the turn!"

"Oh come on!" he yelled as the beam only bounced off Bomber Dragon while Varis just stood there, making no emotions the entire time.

Topologic Bomber Dragon: 3000 - 2200 attack points

Varis grinned, "NOW! It is time for a time of your monster's destruction! BAT-

"GO! Waboku!" he said as he revealed the Trap card as Flame sighed in relief that he had that card in his possession. "With this, I take no battle damage and my monsters can not be destroyed by battle this turn!"

Varis stayed quiet as he looked at his set card and then narrowed his eyes. Wondering if it is the best time for that. He shook his head.

No.

Not yet.

He looked at him, "I end my turn, and make it count."

Topologic Bomber Dragon: 2200 - 3000 attack points

Turn 4. Soulburner - 4000 lp - 1 card

Soulburner took deep breaths for a short period of time, Flame looked at him, "Are you alright, Soulburner?" he asked as his partner looked at him and gave him a smile.

"Of course, you don't have to worry about me, Flame. Trust me when I say that we are going to win this." said Soulburner as his partner nodded, but not with full confidence.

"That may be the case, but we have to be careful around him. He has a monster that could destroy our monsters if you summon a monster on his Link Arrow and even that set card." said Flame as his partner nodded.

"Right," he said as he drew the top card of his deck and looked at it. He slightly gritted his teeth, but hey, at least he has something for the next turn. "I'll start by summoning my Salamnagreat Wolvie!"

On his side of the field appeared a wolverine. Its claws, and the armour around its front legs, neck and head were beige, around the stomach it was light red while it was on fire, its fur was dark red and its claws were sharp as nails.

(Salamangreat Wolvie: Level 4 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1700. Defense: 1000.)

"Now, use the effect of Salamandra from your hand!" said Flame as Soulburner nodded as he took the card from his hand.

"Right! I activate the effect of Salamandra! I can reveal this monster from my hand, and with it I can summon a monster whose level is either equal or lower than the total number of Link Arrows on the field. I count 7, so welcome the Level 6, Salamangreat Salamandra!" he said as he slammed the very card on his duel disk with a smirk on his face.

On his side of the field appeared a rather large Salamander. Its tail was bigger than most humans and had spikes on its back, as it had dark red claws, with dark green eyes. It had dark blue skin on the backside of this monster, and on the front it was dark red, while on the back it was on fire with the neck also being on fire.

Varis counted the number of monsters that Soulburner had on his side of the field, and grinned as he knew what was going to happen, so he allowed this to happen.

"Now! It's time for me to blaze the circuit once more!" he said as he created fire from the tip of his fingers, creating a circuit, "The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Fire monsters, so I set my Salamangreat Jack Jaguar, Wolvie and Salamandra in the Link Arrows!" he said as all 3 of his monsters went to the 3 Link Arrows in high speeds as they turned into fire.

"I Link Summon! Link-3, Salamangreat Smoldering Bear!" he said as the on his side of the field appeared a massive bear that was tiny compared to Topologic Bomber Dragon, as the fur around its stomach was green, while the arms and legs were crimson red, the fur around the torso was black, and everywhere else it was on fire, as its claws were gray.

Soulburner smiled at this as it was a decent strategy. If he summons a monster on Bomber Dragon's Link, only his Smoldering Bear wouldn't be destroyed, and thanks to its effect, he would only lose 350 life points thanks to its effect, which allows him to get back Wolvie, which in return would allow him to return Foxy, allowing him to most likely have a new hand for the turn.

Unfortunately, Varis also knew that it was a good strategy as well considering his smirk, but poor Soulburner did not know what will happen next. "I have to say, all of my low expectation of you have been blown off the water, Soulburner." said Varis as he grinned.

"Of course, I am doing this not because of me, but because of someone I deeply care about." he said as Varis raised an eyebrow.

"Really? Well, then, let's see if you can fight while this is on the field! I activate my Trap, Metaverse!" he said as his Trap revealed itself.

"Oh byte! Not again!" Flame yelled as Varis grinned.

"Oh, yes. With this, I can activate a Field Spell from my deck, so I think I will choose…" Varis stopped as a card appeared on his duel disk as he took it as he reveal the Field Spell, "THIS! Fire Prison!"

Then a massive bird like cage appeared around the Data Storm, trapping Soulburner, Flame and Varis, showing that he wasn't trapped there with them, they were trapped here with him.

"Wha… what is this?" asked Soulburner as he looked around the place, with a small sweatdrop on his forehead.

"Well, to answer your question. It is a Field Spell that is pretty complex, at least for you. So I will break it down for you." He said as he showed his hand as he raised his index finger, "First: All of my Dragon monsters gain 300 extra defense points." he then raised his middle finger, "Second: Both of us now have to Link Summon equal or higher to the amount of highest amount of Link Arrows, which will be a Link-4 monster." He then raised his ring finger, "Fourth: It can not be destroyed by other card effects."

He then raised his pinkie as he darkly chuckled. A one that will terrify even the most brave souls as Soulburner looked around as the prison began to glow red, then he saw Topologic Bomber Dragon, his Heatleo and Smoldering Bear began glitching in and out of existence. He even heard a small voice as he turned towards Flame as he realized what was going on.

"Soul…Sou- So… Help… me…" he said as he then was turned off, making the top of his duel disk turn completely black as his eyes widened when he saw that.

"Fourth, and the most importantly: If there are 2 or more Cyberse Link monsters, all Cyberse monsters can not activate their effects, they cannot attack, they cannot be targeted for attacks, but I can freely attack you directly, they cannot be targeted by card effects, and all effects of the Cyberse from the hand, field and/or graveyard." said Varis as Soulburner gasped at the sheer amount of negation just one card could have as he took several step backwards.

"But… what have you done to Flame, Varis?! What did you do to him?!" he yelled as Varis didn't show any reaction to this.

"Oh, the Fire Ignis? Well, I just sent him to a deep sleep if you will." he said.

With Flame

Flame woke up, suddenly having his own full body as he rubbed his head with his hand, "My head hurts. Is this what a headache feels like?" asked Flame as he opened his eyes, and then, his eyes widened when he saw the world where he is at the current moment.

It was the Cyberse! The same 6 islands floating above, with the Cyberse monsters like Decode Talker and Marincess Coral Triangle having a conversation with two slight blushes on their faces when they talked, with G Golem Invalid Dolmen and Stormrider Rockbuster floating together. He did see some other monsters floating around, the same Cyberse monsters that they have created.

But it was strange. Wasn't he in a duel with Soulburner and Varis, the one that wanted to destroy the Cyberse? So how come he was there, in the same world as his friends? He isn't complaining, he is just confused at the current situation at foot.

He placed his hand under his chin as he thought long and hard at how could this be happening. Maybe this is all a dream? That could be the case, but unlike the Dark Ignis, he could never fall asleep, even if he tried his hardest. It could be a hallucination, but that didn't make any sense.

He was in such deep thought that he didn't hear an Ignis coming closer and smacked him on the back of his, well, back, "Hey, hey, hey, I thought that the Dark Ignis was the one that slacked off, and not you, the person I am talking to, Fire Ignis, the red one, the one that controls the fire, the one-"

"I think…he got it."

"But did he really have to insult me like that?"

"I am sorry to tell you this, Dark, but yes, you haven't done anything in the past 3 months."

"Actually, Water Ignis, Dark hasn't done anything for 3 months, 27 days, 16 hours, 3 minutes and 32 seconds, give or take a couple of nanoseconds."

"Did… did you actually keep count?"

"Of course! What kind of Ignis doesn't look at his progress or other progress. I thought you knew that, Earth Ignis!"

"Sorry, I am… socially awkward."

Flame turned around quickly as he saw them. The Dark, Earth, Wind and Water Ignis, every Ignis, with the exception of the Light Ignis. He stood up, but realized something strange about them, their eyes were different. Wind's was red, but it was purple before, Earth's was now green, Water's was now purple and Dark's was blue. It was strange, but to him it didn't matter.

He began running towards the Dark Ignis and gave him a hug, which admittedly, shocked all of them, especially the Dark Ignis.

"Woah, Fire! What's gotten into you? At least buy me a drink first!" said Dark as he tried to get Flame off of him as they all looked at him weirdly.

Back At The Duel

"What do you mean by that?! A deep sleep!? What load of crap are you talking about?!" yelled Soulburner as he looked at Varis as he gritted his teeth, "And how does this Field Spell even work on him of all things?!" he yelled as Varis chuckled.

"Well, it is simple. Remember the card that Frostgirl had?" he asked as Soulburner's eyes widened.

"...No." he said in horror as Varis smirked.

"Remember how the virus acted towards her?" he asked as Soulburner took a step backwards.

"No."

"That's how the virus works. As long as my Fire Prison is up, any and all Cyberse monsters, and even those outside of the duel, including the things from the Cyberse, will be destroyed for as long as this card is on the field!" he yelled as Soulburner could see it. "It's as if they didn't exist."

He saw Topologic Bomber Dragon's arm slowly disappear from existence.

He looked in horror as he looked down at his duel disk. "What is the virus doing to him?" he asked, slowly.

"Well, if you truly want to know, it is like a dream of some sorts, but then slowly becoming a nightmare of the one that even you can't even dream of." Soulburner looked at him in anger as he closed his fist, "There is only one way of destroying though, and that's if all of the current Cyberse monsters left the field, but considering that you don't have any monsters in your deck that could work with that and no way of doing so, let's face it…"

He leaned in, "You are done for."

Soulburner gritted his teeth as he dropped his duel disk. He didn't want to even think about what was going to happen to him.

Back With Flame

The 5 Ignis, Flame, Dark, Earth, Water and Wind, were all sitting on a plain field of grass while their monsters roamed throughout the Cyberse world. Flame told everything what happened during the 5 years he disappeared.

Fighting the Knights Of Hanoi. Meeting his origin and his two friends. Getting to know each other. Helping them through the entire time. Saving themselves from the Shepherd. Fighting The Gore. Fighting and saving Kiku's life. And now, fighting against the leader of the Knights of Hanoi himself, Varis.

When he was finished, he noticed that his friends were all unusually quiet the entire time. He knew that it was normal for the Earth Ignis because he is too shy and doesn't talk much and that the Water Ignis never cuts anyone off, but the two most talkative Ignis not saying a word at all?

That's suspicious even for them. He also noticed the looks that all of them gave him during the entire time, and especially when he talked about his origin and that they are friends. Its as if they hated the thought of coexistence between them, even when Water always talked about that dream.

It was strange, and threatening at the same time. He felt uncomfortable. He then heard someone walking behind them, he then turned his head towards the source of the voice, "Well, look who do we have here, my friends. The Fire Ignis." said the Light Ignis.

"Oh, the Light Ignis, sorry that I forgot to tell you everything that happened, I wanted to tell you, but when I saw them, I just couldn't-

"There is no worry, my friend, I was listening through everything, and everything that happened." he said with slight venom in his voice.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, even the parts where you are friends with a human." said the Dark Ignis as Flame turned to him.

"Is there a problem with that?"

"Absolutely! I mean, even after he tried to kill us, a human, you still want to befriend one?" said The Wind Ignis.

"What are you talking about?"

"He is saying how could you even think about befriending one, after our near extinction?" said the Water Ignis as Flame looked at her.

"WATER?! I thought you would be with that idea! And you always forgive almost everyone you meet, so where is the change?!"

"Because…they tried killing us." said Earth Ignis.

"But that is only one person and not one organization! You guys seriously can not go against this?!"

"True, but that is enough proof for us to know that coexistence between us." said the Light Ignis as the Water, Wind, Dark and Earth Ignis walked up to him and turned against Flame as he took a step backwards, "So, we will give you two choices: One, join us against the humans, or go against us and be the traitor that you are."

Flame felt the silence and the dark atmosphere around him as he couldn't believe the choices. He would either go against his partner, his origin, his best friend, or his friends that he has known for his entire digital life.

He closed his fist, there are no good answers to this, but he has to pick the one that he wanted the most, "I will pick the coexistence between us and humans and there is no way you can stop that!"

There was silence.

Light sighed, "I didn't want to do this, but still," he said as he raised his hand, "This is what we do to traitors." he then flicked his fingers.

Flame then turned to his backside as he saw Firewall Dragon, all of the Code Talkers, Stormrider, Marincess and G Golem monsters staring him down. He took several step backwards as he tried his hardest to get away from them as he saw the rest of the Ignis tried to catch up to him so he used Fire on his feet to run away.

He need to survive.

Back at the duel

Soulburner took several deep breaths. He looked at his hand, and saw nothing in his hand. He had nothing. He gritted his teeth. "I end my turn."

Turn 5. Varis - 2900 lp - 0 cards

"My turn! I draw!" he yelled as he drew the top card of his deck. He then looked at the card and grinned. "I now activate the Spell card, Link Coin!" he said as the card appeared on his side of the field, "With this I can send one Link Monster on my side of the field, which it doesn't target so my Fire Prison doesn't activate."

The monster then fully disappeared as the hologram stopped glitching and the monster stopped roaring. Varis then took 4 cards from his duel disk and then swiped his hand as he the cards disappeared from the duel disk. The cards then revealed themselves.

"With this card, I get to look at the top cards from my deck equal amount of Link Arrows I sent and I get to add one of them," he said as he picked one of them. He then picked the other 3 cards and placed them in his duel disk, "The rest, however, return to my deck in any order." he said as he did so.

"However, I don't even need to try to look at the cards that I had to return to my deck, because I activate the Spell card, Card Of Demise!" he said as the card appeared on the field as he began explaining the effect of the card, "With, I get to draw until I have 5 cards in my deck." He said as he drew the 5 cards from his deck.

"A brand new hand?!" yelled Soulburner as he took a step backwards.

"That's right, Soulburner!" he swiped his hand to reveal his brand new hand, and then grinned ear to ear as he saw the massive combo he had. "Time for me to show you the true might of the Knights of Hanoi and my power! I activate my Ritual Spell card, Contract With The Abyss!"

"Oh god no!" yelled Soulburner as he knew what monster is he about to summon from that Ritual card alone.

"Oh yes! With this, I can Ritual summon a Dark Ritual monster from my hand using monsters in my hand whose levels are exactly that of the Ritual monster!" he said as then a purple circle appeared on the field with the face of Dark Magician of Chaos as the symbol as suddenly 8 fires appeared on the circle, "So I set my Cracking Dragon as material for the Ritual Summon!"

Cracking Dragon appeared briefly, before disappearing as Varis began chanting, "O valiant spirit of mayhem! Now is the time to pull the trigger to unleash myriad thunderbolts! I Ritual Summon! Descend, Borreload Riot Dragon!" Soulburner had to cover himself as then suddenly, the winds began keeping the wind as he was nearly flown back as then the massive blue dragon with 4 sets of neon green wings, with two blasters on its back and arms with the face of a western dragon as yellow energy was flowing through the dragon as it roared, shaking the Data Storm that they were inside of. Soulburner gulped when he saw the dragon looking at him like it was the predator, and he was the prey.

(Borreload Riot Dragon: Ritual - Level 8 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 3000. Defense: 2500.)

"Well, crap. I have to fight that thing again." said Soulburner as he thought it would be impossible as he didn't have a single non-Cyberse monster in his deck, and the spells won't really help him out in the current situation.

"Precisely. It is good for me, but terrible news for you. Firstly, Fire Prison raises its defense points by 300." he said as his Dragon glew red for a bit as it snarled looking at Soulburner.

Borreload Riot Dragon: 2500 - 2800 defense points

"Then, I will refresh your memory if you somehow forgot. This card will negate one summon once per turn, but the price of that is one Rokket Dragon or itself, however it does not have its immunity since it wasn't summoned due to Heavy Interlock." said Varis as Soulburner nodded. If he could draw like a Raigeki it would be perfect.

"However, I do not think that would be needed in a duel like this." said Varis as he then pointed at Soulburner with one hand, "I believe you haven't felt the full power of my Borreload Riot Dragon, have you? So how about you meet its power right here!" Soulburner took a step backwards.

"Battle! Borreload Riot Dragon attacks you directly! Borrel Blast of Destruction!" he said as Riot Dragon opened its mouth to reveal a much bigger cannon inside of its mouth as it began charging the full potential of it as yellow light appeared all over it. Varis raised his hand, "Anti Glare Protection!" he said as he pressed a button on his helmet as he then had glass that protected him from the light.

He then pointed at his opponent and shouted to the heavens. "FIRE!" the monster then shot the blast of destruction directly towards Soulburner as it went with the speed of light and the power of a nuclear bomb as it went in landed the blast, Soulburner was then flown to the wall with a loud yell of pain creating an explosion so massive that it could be seen outside of the Data Storm.

Varis grinned when he saw Soulburner on the wall as he then slowly got out of it, but fell to his knees, seeing his two Link monsters not moving in the slightest as their master will be soon finished.

Varis: 2900 lp

Soulburner: 4000 - 1000 life points

"Give up, Soulburner! You will never win this duel!" said Varis as Soulburner looked at him, breathing heavily the entire time as he looked at him, barely with enough strength to even stand. "You have no monsters in your deck that aren't Cyberse monsters, you have no cards in your hand or field that matter, so believe that this is the end!"

"That's a load of shit and you know it!" said Soulburner as he stood up, "I don't care what the chances are! I don't care about anything like that, all I care is the safety of my loved ones, and if I have to fight someone like you then so be it!" he yelled as Varis leaned in.

"Oh really? You think that you can defeat me? Then I would like to see you try to destroy my monster." said Varis as Soulburner cracked his knuckles.

"Oh I will show you!" he yelled.

A card appeared in Varis' hand as he took it, "I will end my turn with a card face down." he said as a card was set vertically, only for it to slowly disappear.

Turn 6. Soulburner - 1000 lp - 0 cards

"I will show you this, right here and now!" he yelled as he then drew the top card of his deck. He looked at it, and gritted his teeth. "Damn it." he said as Varis smirked.

"Oh? So you haven't drawn the card that will help you win this duel at the current moment?" he chuckled, "How surprising, isn't it? It is almost as if you couldn't win this duel. What do you say about that? It's almost as if the Fire Ignis was the only reason why you won." he asked as Soulburner gritted his teeth.

"Shut up! This doesn't mean that I won't win! I end my turn by setting this card face down!" he said as his set card was set vertically in front of Soulburner, but it quickly disappeared.

Turn 7. Varis - 2900 lp - 1 card

"We will see about that! I draw!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as he drew the top card of his deck. He looked at it and nodded. This would be useful if he wanted to summon that monster, but currently he didn't need it. The same could be said for the other card in his hand.

The two cards disappeared as then the Data Storm began shaking, "What's happening?!" yelled Soulburner as Varis didn't move a muscle as he raised his hand with no worries.

"The final effect of Link Coin activates," Soulburner looked at the Leader Of The Knights Of Hanoi as a card appeared in his hand, "During my next Standby Phase, the monster sent by Link Coin is special summoned back to my field!" he said as Soulburner widened his eyes at the move.

"What?! Are you kidding me?!" he yelled as he had problems with that monster alone, but now he is facing that AND Borreload Riot Dragon?! Could this get worse!?

"That's right! So come out, Topologic Bomber Dragon!" he said as then from the Data Storm, Topologic Bomber Dragon came out of the Data Storm with a mighty roar, shaking the place that they were in as it landed next to its comrade.

(Topologic Bomber Dragon: Link - Dark Cyberse - Attack: 3000. Link-4. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Bottom-Left, Bottom-Middle and Bottom-Right.)

"Well… this duel can't get any worse." said Soulburner as Varis chuckled. "I jinxed it, didn't I?"

"I don't know, you tell me after I reveal this set card." said Varis as his set card revealed itself, and Soulburner knew that card just by its artwork. It was Call Of The Haunted. A Trap that revives a monster from the graveyard.

"Oh god no, please no." said Soulbuner as he took a step backwards. Not ready for anything that he sends his way.

"I'll take that as a yes. With this, I can special summon a monster from the graveyard. I have so many options to choose from, I can't pick one, but," he said as a card appeared on his duel disk as he took it, "I think I will choose a monster that I think you are familiar with. Come out, Cracking Dragon!"

On his side of the field appeared a monster that was the same monster that Soulburner first faced as Soulburner that was from the Knights Of Hanoi. The dragon was massive as it was even taller than Riot Dragon, but smaller than Topologic Dragon, its skin was dark black and it was made out of metal. It had green orbs around it and even a massive tail as it had spikes around the monster.

(Cracking Dragon: Level 8 - Dark Machine - Attack: 3000. Defense: 0.)

"I'm pretty sure you are familiar with this monster, but I will remind you of this card's effect. When you summon a monster with a level, you lose life points times 200 for every level and it loses that many attack points, but I don't think you could summon anything as my Riot Dragon will just blast away it, and even then, if you somehow take care of my Field Spell, my Topologic Bomber Dragon will be trouble, so face it, you can't win!" yelled Varis as Soulburner gritted his teeth.

"That doesn't change anything! So come on, Varis! Let's continue this!" yelled Soulburner as Varis smirked.

"I would applaud of your determination, but I am afraid that won't save you." he pushed his arm forward, "Unfortunately, due to Fire Prison, Bomber Dragon can't attack you, but still…BATTLE! Cracking Dragon attacks you directly! Traffic Blast!"

From the mouth of the powerful Dragon appeared a massive beam of destruction as it then blast towards Soulburner, as of revenge for their first round, but Soulburner took a step forward as he activated the only set card.

"Go, Draining Shield!" A barrier appeared on his field that was green, "This card negates your attack and I gain life points equal to the amount I would have taken!" he said as the barrier absorbed the attack as he had a small grin on his face.

Varis: 2900 lp

Soulburner: 1000 - 4000 life points

"I am still in the game, Varis! You can't stop me!" yelled Soulburner as Varis narrowed his eyes at the move.

"You are, and I am quite impressed, but this is still nothing." He pointed at his Borreload Riot Dragon as he yelled, "GO! Borreload Riot Dragon attacks you directly with Borrel Blast Of Destruction!"

His monster opened its mouth to reveal a cannon inside of its mouth as it began charging as blue electricity was flowing throughout its entire body as it seemed to make it more and more powerful, and then it fired with more intensity than before as Soulburner was flown back to the wall once more as once he landed on the wall, he instantly fell to his knees as he began coughing up when it was finished.

Varis: 2900 lp

Soulburner: 4000 - 1000 life points

"So… finished?" asked Varis as he looked at him in anger.

"Never." he said.

"So stubborn. You will never win with a deck like that, face the reality. You can not win." he said as he lowered his arms and only looked at him. "Go ahead. Draw your last card. I end my turn."

Turn 8. Soulburner - 1000 lp - 0 cards

"My turn! I draw!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as he drew the top card of his deck and looked at it. He smiled, "Yes, thank you. I activate Pot Of Greed!" he said as the card appeared on his side of the field. "With this, I can draw 2 cards from my deck!" he yelled as he drew the two cards from his deck and then looked at them.

He dropped to his knees. "No… no." he said as he looked at the two cards. They didn't… didn't help him in the current situation. Not in the slightest.

One could make him summon his second copy of Smoldering Bear, but it didn't help as it wouldn't help him from getting attacked directly or even then, its effects would still be negated. The second card didn't even work out since he didn't have any Link monsters in his graveyard at the current moment.

He looked at Varis' field, and thought that it would be impossible to even destroy. It had a monster that would negate a monster's summon once per turn, which was enough from him not activating one card from his hand, and the other would deal him damage and lower his monster's attack points at the same time, and he had little amount of life points to even summon anything above a level 4.

He thought it was hopeless, nothing could help him in the current situation. It was over for him to even do anything. Varis was right. He can't win. He couldn't win in a million years.

He placed his hands on the floor and gripped the rocks with his hands as he thought it was over, nothing can be changed. He felt tears coming down to his cheeks and to the floor.

He was done for.

It was over.

Everything.

"I am sorry, Flame. I am sorry, Kiku. I am sorry, Seigen. I am sorry, everyone, I lost." he said as he choked on his words. It was over.

He was doomed.

…

He then heard something. He heard somewhere a loud, "Squawk!" from somewhere. He looked around to the source of the sound he just heard it from, but nowhere. Varis looked confused as he saw him looking around to something he didn't even see.

Soulburner then looked downwards to his duel disk as he thought he heard a bird. It was like a hawk, no, an eagle, no… it was more like a… Phoenix.

He decided to look through his Extra Deck and then his eyes widened when he saw it. It was perfect for this moment.

He grinned.

He could win this duel right here and right now.

He stood up as then fire appeared in his hand, a fire that could even match Flame's, as he threw it with the power of a shotgun as he yelled, "I will now blaze the ultimate circuit!" from then on a circuit appeared, as he felt a power boost that was like he unlocked the true power of the Salamangreats.

"What?! You can't summon anything with that!" he yelled as Soulburner grinned.

"Well, there is a first for everything! The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Fire Effect Monsters, so I set my Smoldering Bear and Heatleo in the Link Arrows!" he yelled as all of the Link monsters flew to the Link Arrows, making them glow as he did so.

He then began to chant, "As from the ashes of all the fallen monsters, a true phoenix's might is born as the true potential of the wielder is created! I Link Summon! Descend, Link-4, Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix!" he said as then from the circuit appeared a monster whose flame was so immense that Varis' monsters protected him from the heat.

Then, a few seconds later, the heat began to weaken as they all looked at the newly summoned monster. It was a Phoenix that was the same size as Soulburner, but it still showed something different as even he felt different from it. It wore armor that was crimson red as it had a mini cape on the back, with massive shoulder pads, kneecaps and even some spikes around its body as its wings were a top shade of red.

Varis looked in shock as he never saw that monster as Soulburner looked in admiration at the monster as he felt something special to that monster. He grinned ear to ear as he then saw it.

Fire Prison's card appeared on the field as it was then destroyed due to all of the Cyberse monsters it had on lockdown left the field.

Soulburner grinned when he saw that as he knew one thing.

Flame will be safe.

Back To Flame

Flame needs to be safe. He is flying through the Cyberse as he looked behind him as he saw all of the Stormriders flying towards, wanting to get to him as soon as possible with The Wind Ignis on top of Stormrider Bahamut Bomber Custom.

He also had to dodge attacks from all Marincess monsters, especially Marincess Great Bubble Reef, Wonder Heart and Marbled Rock, as he was weak to water since he, well, is the Fire Ignis, not to mention how swift they all were. The Water Ignis was on the shoulder of Marincess Wonder Heart.

Not to mention the strength of The Earth Ignis' G Golems, as he knew that one hit from G Golem Dignified Trilithon would be the death of him as the Earth Ignis was still on Invalid Dolmen.

Finally, The Dark Ignis had to create the most versatile set of monsters with the Code Talkers, as Accesscode, Transcode and Shootingcode Talkers could attack from a distance, Powercode and Excode Talkers are the melee attackers, Encode and ProtectcodeTalkers would just protect them from all harm, Decode Talker is the one that was the fastest at fighting and running so he was the one he had the most amount of trouble with. Not to mention, the blasts of destruction coming from Firewall, Cyberse Clock, Cyberse Quantum and Firewall eXceed Dragons.

He was doing well considering he didn't have any of his Salamangreat monsters as he dodged almost all of the attacks, but he did forget one person from this.

The Light Ignis and his speed as he appeared in front of him when he thought he lost them, but sadly, before he could even move away from him, Decode Talker got to him, as then all of the Ignis and their monsters were around him. The Traitor to the Ignis.

The Light Ignis chuckled as all of the powerful monsters charged their attacks towards the Fire Ignis, "Sorry that we had to do this, but I am afraid that this is what we have to do… to traitors." he said as he snapped his fingers.

Flame closed his eyes as all of the attacks were shot towards the Fire Ignis, "I am sorry…Theodore." he said as he then heard a voice.

"Sorry about what?" Flame looked around as he saw the face of Soulburner with a confused face. He looked around as he saw Varis with gritted teeth, Topologic Bomber, Borreload Riot and Cracking Dragons growling at him as his eyes widened when he saw Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix.

He looked to his hand and saw that this was real life. It was all of a hallucination, that none of what happened was real.

He pressed his hand on his chest as he looked at his partner, "Thank you."

"Again, about what?"

"Just… just thank you Soulburner for saving me from that nightmare." he said as Soulburner looked at him, shocked, but then grew a smile.

"Your welcome buddy, I will always save my friends." he said as Flame sighed in relief.

"That's… great to hear." he said as he looked at the field, and he couldn't believe that he was staring at Pyro Phoenix. "So you have finally unlocked Pyro Phoenix, huh?"

"Yep! All just to save you from that guy over there!" he said as he pointed at Varis.

Flame chuckled, "Great, because if you actually managed to summon it, the Salamangreat Deck's full potential will show itself."

Soulburner grinned, "Awesome, and how about we show it off! I activate the Spell, Set Your Heart Ablaze!" he said as the card appeared on the field, showing off a heart that was on fire of a human that had bright yellow hair with red highlights, with a smile on his face with bright yellow and red eyes, fighting a martial artist.

"With this, we can special summon a Fire Link Monster from our graveyard, and if we do, we gain life points equal to half of the special summoned monster!" yelled Flame as Soulburner tried to reach for his graveyard, but Varis pushed his arm forward.

"Not so fast! I activate the effect of my Borreload Riot Dragon!" he yelled as his monster began charging with blue electricity, "If you activate a card that would special summon a monster, I can negate and destroy that summon, but then I have to destroy one Rokket Monster or Borreload Riot Dragon! So, go! Enemy Negatition!"

His monster roared in power as he then charged towards the spell card as it reached the monster, it exploded when it made contact.

Soulburner grinned, "Thank you for that."

"What?" asked Varis as he felt he was at the opposite side just a turn ago.

"Because when its effect is negated, I get to draw 1 card from my deck!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as he drew the top card of his deck. Both he and Flame looked at it as they nodded.

"Not bad, gotta save that for later, but first," Flame threw his hand to a side as Soulburner did the same, "we activate the effect of Pyro Phoenix on our field! With this, you can special summon 1 Link monster from your graveyard, and we get to choose the monster, so come out Twin Triangle Dragon!"

Varis grunted as he took a card from his graveyard and placed it on our field. Twin Triangle Dragon appeared on the field.

"Why would you do something like that?" asked Varis as Soulburner shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know, maybe dealing you damage exactly to the amount of a Link monster that was special summoned on your side of the field?" asked Soulburner as Varis raised an eyebrow at that, but then widened when he heard that.

"Oh no." he said as both of them grinned.

"Oh yes! Pyro Phoenix show him the flame of our power! Sacred Phoenix Blast!" Flame yelled at the top of his lungs as a ball of fire appeared in the hands of the Pyro Phoenix as it then threw the powerful ball of fire at Varis who took a step backwards at the move.

Varis: 2900 - 1700 life points

Soulburner: 1000 lp

"We are nearly there," said Flame as Soulburner smirked.

"I can't wait, so why not just do it right now?!" he said as he took a card from his hand, "I activate the Quick-Play Spell card, Salamangreat Trancendense!" he said as the card appeared on the field as Soulburner's fist turned into a blue flame as Varis looked at the newly acquired skill.

"With this, I can use Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix for an entire Link Material, so I use it to blaze the circuit!" he yelled as he then threw his fist into the air, creating a massive purple circuit, "I set my Pyro Phoenix to create my strongest monster yet!" he said as his monster went towards the circuit in a fast motion as then everyone could feel it.

The true strength of the Salamangreats.

Soulburner began to chant, "Pyro Phoenix! Let the flames engulf your body! Because from its ashes you will be reborn! Super Reincarnation Link Summon! Soar, Link 4! Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix!" He said as then from the circuit appeared the same monster, but this time it went down like a Phoenix with Blue Flames all around the monster in a fighter jet fashion, and when it landed on the ground, blue flames appeared all around it as Varis had to cover himself from the heat as Soulburner and Flame could see the monster with their beauty.

It was so powerful that everyone outside of the firewall and Data Storm could see it.

When the flames died down Varis saw the monster now having dark blue wings as it then went into blue flames and finally finished with yellow.

Varis stayed silent as Soulburner threw his hand, "Now, since it was Reincarnated, its final and most powerful effect activates!" Flame nodded as Pyro Phoenix concentrated fire in the palm of its hands as it was made out of blue flames.

"That's right! Because when it is Reincarnated, it gets to destroy," Flame's body began to heat up as Soulburner raised his hand in victory, "EVERY CARD ON YOUR SIDE OF THE FIELD!"

"Wait, what?!" yelled Varis as Pyro Phoenix's ball of flames began to heat up and increase in size as it was like a Spirit Bomb.

"You heard us! Every card is destroyed! Go, Sacred Reincarnation Bombing!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as it then threw the massive bomb of fire at Varis and his field as all 3 of his monsters roared in pain as Varis was the one that was flying to the wall and landed on his knees.

They can feel it. One more attack and they won the duel.

Both of them nodded to each other as they threw their hands at the same time, "Battle! Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix attacks you directly with Sacred Phoenix Blast!" both of them yelled at the same time as Pyro Phoenix created a powerful beam of destruction made out of blue flames as it then threw the massive ball of fire at the Leader Of The Knights Of Hanoi.

Varis looked at what will be his destruction as he gritted his teeth.

He will not let that happen!

"I activate Chobham Armor Dragon from my hand! If I will be targeted for a direct attack, I can special summon it on the field in attack mode!" he yelled as then a small robotic dragon appeared on the field as its colouring scheme was beige, gray, dark blue, green with a small tail.

(Chobham Armor Dragon: Level 1 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 0. Defense: 0.)

"That won't matter because we still will attack you with our monster!" yelled Soulburner as the attack still went through, but Varis had a small smirk on his face.

"Yes, but thanks to the effect of my Chobham Armor Dragon, for the rest of the turn, it can not be destroyed by battle and I take half of the battle damage!" he yelled as Soulburner grunted.

"Yes, but you still take the damage!" yelled Flame as the attack landed on the dragon, but it made zero damage on the dragon as Varis stood tall.

Varis: 1700 - 300 life points

Soulburner: 1000 lp

Soulburner and Flame all took breaths with the move as they looked at the newly summoned monster and Pyro Phoenix. They could feel it. The end is fast approaching.

"I end my turn there." said Soulburner as he took a step forward. Ready for anything.

Varis stood up as he looked at his opponent and the Ignis. He raised his hands, they were getting ready for something unexpected, but then he…

began to clap his hands, "Bravo. Really bravo. I haven't expected something like this in my wildest dreams, but good job, looks like I have to summon out my Ace to finish the job."

"Wait a minute… those monsters weren't your Ace monsters?!" yelled Soulburner in shock as he grinned ear to ear.

"Correct, and I believe that it is the best time to show it to you and the Fire Ignis what I mean!" a card appeared on his duel disk as he took it, "My turn! I draw!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as he drew the top card of his deck. He flipped it as he grinned.

He then activated the card, "I activate the Spell card, Pot Of Avarice!" the card appeared on the field as he began, "WIth this I can shuffle 5 monsters from my graveyard," He swiped his hand to reveal his 5 monsters: Gateway Dragon, Cracking Dragon, Borreload Riot Dragon, Twin Triangle Dragon and Defrag Dragon as they then disappeared, "into my deck, so I can now draw 2 cards from my deck!" he yelled as he then drew the card from his hand.

"Perfect. If you control a Link Monster, I get to special summon my Gateway Dragon!" On his side of the field appeared a beige coloured dragon that had 3 arms, two small wings with a gateway behind it that was yellow on the outside, but blue on the inside.

(Gateway Dragon: Level 4 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1600. Defense: 1400.)

"This can't be good." said Soulburner as Flame nodded with his partner.

"How right you are, Soulburner! I activate the effect of my Gateway Dragon! Once per turn I can special summon one Dark Dragon monster from my hand," he swiped his hand to reveal the only card in his hand and picked it, "So I will now summon my Triggering Wurm!"

On his side of the field appeared a rather massive worm that was metal, but at the same time a dragon that was dark red with 6 pairs of horns on the back of him that was orange with the eyes being green, as the rest of the body was that of a Revolver.

(Triggering Wurm: Level 2 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 600. Defense: 600.)

"Three monsters." Flame narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms, "With that he can summon a Link-3 monster."

"That may be the case for you, but I have a different plan as I manifest my circuit!" he yelled as from the tip of his hand appeared data from it as then a circuit appeared from it, "The Summoning Conditions are 2 Dark Dragon monsters, so I set my Triggering Wurm and Gateway Dragon in the Link Arrows!" he said as his two monsters flew at the Link Arrows creating a new monster.

"I Link Summon! Link-2, Dillingerous Dragon!" he said as then from the circuit appeared a small robotic dragon on his side of the field that had purple colouring around its knees, shoulders, hands and head, green around the neck, bottom face, knees and arms, with it having yellow eyes and guns that were on the hands and feet.

(Dillingerous Dragon: Link - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1600. Link-2. Link Arrows: Top-Middle and Bottom-Middle.)

"Why would he summon a monster like that?" asked Soulburner as he could've summoned Triple Burst Dragon, but Varis only looked at him as a card appeared in his hands.

"Simple, because I have something that will appear shortly, as I then summon my Metalrokket Dragon!" on his side of the field appeared a monster that was used in the previous duel as it had blue armour on it with a bullet on top of it.

(Metalrokket Dragon: Level 4 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1700. Defense: 1400.)

"Wait, 4 monsters." said Soulburner as he realized what was about to happen as his eyes widened.

"No way, a Link-4 Monster." said Flame in realization.

"You have another Link-4 Monster?!" yelled Soulburner as Varis chuckled.

"Oh, I have plenty of them. 4 in fact, but this one I like using the most, so then I will manifest my circuit!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as a massive amount of data appeared in his hand as he then threw his hand in the air, creating a massive circuit, "The Summoning Conditions are at least 3 Effect monsters, so I set my Dillingerous Dragon, Metalrokket Dragon and my Chobham Armor Dragon in the Link Arrows!" he said as his 3 monsters flew towards the circuit like they were shot from a shotgun, or a Revolver.

He then began to chant, "My new wind that pierces through the closed world as a new bullet of destruction is born! I Link Summon! Appear Now! Link-4, Borreload Dragon!" as then they saw it. The most powerful monster in Varis' arsenal. It was a massive dragon that was even bigger than Riot Dragon, as it had a pair of 4 sharp neon green blades, as the hands resembled that of a handgun, with it having blasters on the back of the dragon, the tail was massive as it was red on the top, black on the bottom, with green lining on the top, as the entire body was red from the tip of its toes to the end of the body, as it was black around the legs, knees, feets, arms and stomach, with the torso resembling that of a Revolver, as its face was more defiant that Riot Dragon as its emerald eyes pierced through even Pyro Phoenix's flames.

(Borreload Dragon: Link - Dark Dragon - Attack: 3000. Link-4. Link Arrows: Middle-Left, Middle-Right, Bottom-Left and Bottom-Right.)

Varis stared at his dragon as he loved the monster. He loved using the monster at any chance he has and loves that it was the one that he created. It was his Ace monster.

Soulburner looked at the monster in shock and Flame looked at it was one of the few monsters that was about to destroy the Cyberse.

"You see this? This is my ace monster! The one that will destroy you!" he yelled as he looked at him and pointed at his opponent, "Battle! Borreload Dragon attacks your Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix!" he yelled as his monster opened its mouth as a cannon appeared from it as then it began charging red electricity.

It was then shot with the power of a nuclear bomb and with the speed of a fighter jet, but it was then turned into blue, "Actually, I think I will activate the effect of my Borreload Dragon! It negates the attack, but I gain control of it! Strange Trigger!" he yelled as the bullet went through Pyro Phoenix, but then it then went towards Varis' side of the field.

"What?!" yelled Soulburner in shock at what he saw as Flame looked at them in horror.

"So that's the true power of the Borreload Dragon. It's terrifying as I imagined it to be." said Flame as Soulburner took a step backwards.

He saw two powerful Link-4 monsters on Varis' side of the field. It was like he was toying with them.

"I have to congratulate you two for getting this far, but this is as far as you two can get!" he pointed at him, "Pyro Phoenix! Attack and destroy your former master with Sacred Reincarnation Flame!" he yelled as then Pyro Phoenix roared in power as it then charged directly towards his former master.

"Soulburner, do something!" yelled Flame.

"You got it, pal! I activate Salamangreat Parro's effect!" he said as he showed the card in his hand, "With this, I can special summon it in attack position when I am being targeted by a direct attack!" he said as then on his side of the field appeared a parrot that he used against his duel against Kiku that was on fire with rainbow coloured wings.

(Salamangreat Parro: Level 6 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 2000. Defense: 1000.)

"That monster? You really must be scrapping a barrel just to survive this one turn." said Varis as he looked at his Borreload, knowing full well that won't change a thing with his other effect.

"Well, that might be the case, but Parro has actually a different effect!" Soulburner said as he pushed his arm forward, "When it is special summoned this way, its attack points become the same as a monster from our graveyard, and since there is a different copy of Pyro Phoenix, its attack points are now 2800!" he yelled as his monster glew red for a bit.

Varis only narrowed his eyes. "Not this turn, huh?"

Salamangreat Parro: 2000 - 2800 attack points

"Now thanks to that, we don't take any damage and our monster is completely safe from harm." said Flame as he closed his eyes in satisfaction.

"Are you sure about that?" asked Varis.

"Oh crap, we jinxed it." said Soulburner.

"True, you did. My Borreload has a different effect! Once per turn, I target one monster on the field, and their attacks and defense points are reduced by 500, and the best part of it, is that it can not be responded to!" he yelled as their eyes widened.

"Wait, what?!" yelled Soulburner with widened eyes.

"You heard me! Enemy Negatition…" started off Varis as then a cannon appeared from Borreload Dragon's mouth as then electricity went all around the powerful monster as a massive bullet was then shown from the dragon, as then…, "FIRE!" the bullet went straight towards Parro, as it then weakened the poor Cyberse monster.

Salamangreat Parro: 2800 - 2300 attack points/ 1000 - 500 defense points

"NOW! To continue the attack! Destroy that Cyberse monster, Pyro Phoenix!" yelled Varis as then Pyro Phoenix charged towards Parro in a way that was like a fighter jet as the entire body was now that of a jet as it then went straight through it, like a hot knife through butter.

Soulburner had to cover himself from the attack as his monster went towards Varis with the other Link-4 monster.

Varis: 300 lp

Soulburner: 1000 - 500 life points

"Even after all of that, with a new monster, he just won't quit." said Soulburner as he breathed in and out as he saw two powerful monsters staring him down and an even more powerful duelist behind them.

"I would respect him for his determination, but this is just…" Flame didn't even need to finish the sentence as Soulburner knew what he was about to say.

"Yeah." he said.

Varis looked at him, and he thought that it would be impossible for him to even win. He had no monsters on his field, no Spells and Traps and no cards in his hand. There is no way that he could win, but something tells him that it would soon be over.

"Look at this, it is truly pathetic that you are trying to survive this. You are like a pebble in my shoe, annoying and uncomfortable, yes, but ultimately small and worthless, not giving a second thought once I toss you away and when you lose, you will be lost to history." he said as Soulburner gritted his teeth.

"You're wrong Varis! I won't lose! I won't lose anyone that I care about! Because I will win in this turn!" he said as he clenched his fist into a ball, "Like everyone once said before, a duel is not over until the last card is played." he looked at him once more, "And I will show you that, right here, right now, that the leader of the Knights Of Hanoi will lose to me!" he yelled as Varis looked at him as he allowed him to continue.

"Not to mention, it will be payback for what the Knights Of Hanoi did to me, from the last 10 years ago." he said as Varis widened his eyes, but didn't break his expression. "After everything that you and the Knights Of Hanoi have put me through, the electrocutions, nightmares, near starvation, near dehydration, all of the injuries I had for years, and the moment that I lost…them."

Varis looked at him as he knew what he was talking about, the incident that he couldn't believe that would happen to those 6 children. He was disgusted by everything what he saw, as he clenched his fist as he remembered everything what he saw.

"Even now, I still get memories about that incident, and how it ruined me and my life for the worst. And even today, you still try to attack me and my friends!" he yelled at Varis as he didn't break the eye contact between him, "This… battle we have started, will end soon, and I will get payback after all that you have done!" he yelled as he pointed at Varis who he took a step backwards.

"I am not going to tell you that your anger is not warranted," Soulburner looked at him as Varis continued, "But, I will tell you why your anger should not be targeted to us, but rather to other side of this battle, the one that wants to use your Ignis for their own power." his eyes narrowed down, "SOL Technologies."

"What?"

"What do you mean by that?" asked Flame as Varis gritted his teeth.

"Because they are responsible for 2 things." He raised his hand as he raised his index finger as Soulburner noticed that his voice was similar to him, "One: They were the real reason behind the Lost Incident, the one where it lasted for 6 months of the 6 Lost Children." their eyes widened when they heard that, but Varis continued as he raised his middle finger, "Two: They are responsible for the creation of the Ignis, which in return makes this conflict between us almost pointless, but nonetheless, they were the ones that were responsible for this whole battle."

Soulburner and Flame looked at him with pure shock, as they couldn't believe him of all people about the creation of the Ignis and the Cyberse, but it almost sounded like he wasn't making it up on the spot, and he was being completely truthful about that.

"How- How do you know any of that?" asked Soulburner as Varis looked at him.

"Well, I won't reveal to you much of it, but the most important thing is that… my father used to work on the incident." he said as Soulburner took a step backwards.

"What?" asked Soulburner.

"Yes, I however have no involvement with the plan in any way, but the thought that he was involved with the incident disgusts me to end." said Varis as he looked at him, "I know your anger, and it is justifiable, and I won't blame you for being angry for what they did to you, but it's clear, to everyone, and even you have to admit, you are not fit for this battle. Look at this situation. Even when you summoned your best monster, you still couldn't finish the job. So tell me, how are you going to change this? How are you going to battle against even one of us? How are you going to defend your friends and loved ones from this battle? I appreciate your strength, and how are you doing this, but you clearly aren't fit for this. So tell me, how are you going to do this?"

Soulburner stayed quiet as Flame looked at him, also wanting to hear him. He lowered his head, with his eyes being covered by his hair as he then began, "I don't know. I genuinely do not know how I am going to do that. I have no clue, I am being honest with you, but I do know a few things," he said as he looked his opponent in the eyes, "I know what I am doing is right for the world. Both humans and the Ignis, and I know I shouldn't give Flame to anyone other the ones that I fully trust, and even if I am at a dead end, I won't give up in any situation, no matter how hard it may be, no matter how much I have been kicked to the ground, as long as I have the people that I could trust…" he looked at Flame, and then grew a smile on his face as Flame, if he had one, would also have one at this moment, as he looked at Varis, "I will win!"

Varis stayed quiet as he looked at Soulburner, and then…

…he smiled, "Well, if you are so confident, then, show me. Show me how you are going to battle this."

Soulburner grinned, "Gladly!" he said as he placed his fingers on the top of his deck.

Turn 10. Soulburner - 500 lp - 0 cards

Soulburner looked at the field and he knew how much of a disadvantage he was, it was unfair. He had no monsters, no Spells and Traps and no cards in his hand, while Varis had 2 powerful Link-4 monsters, one of them being one from him. The only thing he had above him was life points, but he knew that won't last long.

"It has seem as if, that this turn will be the last one of this turn." said Flame as his partner nodded.

"Right, and I don't know if we could even manage to win this duel this turn." said Soulburner as his partner looked.

"So, you are saying that you are going to surrender right here and now?" asked Flame as his partner smiled.

"No way, Flame. I came this far, and you think that I am going to quit now? I thought you knew me." he said as his partner chuckled.

"You're right, Soulburner, I should've known that nothing can bring you down, not even this. You are the opposite of a candle during the wind, if I say so," Flame then had a serious look on his face, "Still, I know that you can do it, and I believe in you that you can turn everything around, so take the last card in your deck, and even if this isn't a Speed Duel, make it like a Burning Draw, to show that your soul really has been reincarnated!"

Soulburner smiled, "Thanks, I will." he said as he smacked his chest plate as then fire appeared on his fist as then placed his fingers on the top of his deck, "It's my turn!"

Fire appeared on Flame as he then yelled, "Bring The Heat, Soulburner!" as they can tell. This was about to be a powerful draw, a one for the ages.

"I… BURNING… DRAW!" he yelled as he then drew the top card of his deck as it was like it was on fire, as then slowly, but surely, the flame died down as like time had frozen for him. He then began to reveal the card to himself and Flame, slowly, as they then saw the card, and their eyes widened.

"We did it!" yelled Soulburner as Varis raised an eyebrow at that.

"We won!" Flame yelled in excitement.

"Excuse me? What on Earth are you two talking about? You only drew one card, and how good of a card would that be?" he asked as Soulburner and Flame looked at each other.

"Should we tell him or…?"

"I think it is best if we show him the card we just got."

Soulburner nodded as he took a card from his hand, "Well, I think we should show you a new type of monster, a type of monster that has never been shown before." Varis was even more confused as Soulburner activated a card and the card appeared on the field, "I activate the Spell, Fusion Of Fire!"

"What?" asked Varis as he was confused on how that type of card will help them win this duel.

"Oh, I am sorry, did you not hear anything about Fusion monsters, or the Fusion Spells? Well, in short, this card allows me to Fusion Summon using monsters from my hand and on the field!" yelled Soulburner as Varis smirked.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, but you have no monsters either in your hand or field, so you can't do anything about that!" yelled Varis as Soulburner grinned, Flame would too if he had a mouth.

"That is correct, that we don't have anything on the field or hand to Fusion Summon, but that doesn't mean we are out of options!" yelled Flame as Soulburner pushed his hand out.

"Because, Fusion Of Fire also allows me to use both fields in order to Fusion Summon a Salamangreat Fusion monster!" he yelled as then both Borreload Dragon and Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix were turning into digital data.

"WHAT?!" yelled Varis in shock as he had nothing against that.

"Not so hot when your monsters are taken, huh?!" he said as Borreload Dragon turned into blue data as Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix turned into red data as they then began to cycle around each other, in typhoon way, as then they crashed into each other, creating a small explosion as Varis had to shield himself from the explosion as Soulburner was the one to be perfectly still.

Soulburner then began to chant, "When the flames consume the old, a new creature emerges to reign supreme! I Fusion Summon! Salamangreat Violet Chimera!" he yelled to the heavens as then a massive monster appeared on the field. It was a purple monster that was as big as his Borreload Dragon, but it had the power of Pyro Phoenix. Its legs and arms were that of sharp swords, as at the back of the legs they were wires. It had green orbs on its arms. It had small, but powerful wings, as the tiny parts were gray and as thin as bones, with 6 pairs of wings on them with blue flames on the wings, as it had purple coloured eyes. As the names suggests, it was made out of different animals. The head was that of a lion, the left arm was that of a snake, and on the right arm it was a bird.

Varis knew one thing.

His defeat.

(Salamangreat Violet Chimera: Fusion - Level 8 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 2800. Defense: 2000.)

"So, this is what you have been hiding, your true strength as a duelist." he said as he looked at the powerful monster, not in fear, but with an impressed look that he was managed to get this monster out on the field.

"Actually, to be quite honest, I forgot it was there, but still, this will be the end of you and this duel!" yelled Soulburner as Flame nodded.

"Right, and now, the special effect of our Fusion monster activates!" yelled Flame as Soulburner pushed his arm forward.

"That's right! You see, when it is Fusion Summon, this monster gains attack points, equal to the half combination of the original attack points used for the summon until the end of the turn!" he yelled as Varis widened his eyes once more.

"What?!" he yelled in shock, but it was good data to know later, when they are going to have their rematch.

Salamangreat Violet Chimera: 2800 + 1400 + 1500 = 2800 + 2900 = 5700 attack points

"I win! Finally, after all of this, all of the years, I have won!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as Flame crossed his arms in satisfaction, "Look forward, Ki- Frostgirl, because I just saved you." he said with a smile as he then looked at his opponent who stood perfectly still, ready for the match to end.

He knew this, but he had to finish the duel, "Battle! Salamangreat Violet Chimera attack him directly! Violet Soul!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as Violet Chimera crossed its arms together, as then blue flame appeared in the hands of the monster as at the same time, it was turned into a purple colouring that was as hot as the surface as the Sun.

When it was finished, it threw the massive ball of gas directly towards the Leader of The Knights Of Hanoi as he flew to the wall. He then fell to his knees and began to breathe heavily. He looked at Soulburner with a pained smile.

"So you have proven yourself that you could do it." he said as breathed in and out.

Varis: 300 - 0 life points

Soulburner: 500 lp

SOULBURNER: WINNER!

Both duelists began breathing intensely as Soulburner looked like he was almost about to pass out from exhaustion, but he took one step forward to make sure that didn't happen. Flame couldn't believe what he just saw, as much as he recognized his partner's skills as a duelist, he didn't think he would actually manage to defeat Varis in such a short time, but to him, he felt like this was him… without his full strength.

Soulburner breathed in and out as he finally did it, he finally defeated the man that was the leader of the Knights Of Hanoi, but something in him told him that this wasn't it, and that this was only the beginning of this battle.

Varis stayed quiet at the move, and how the tables have been turned during this entire duel in his last 2 turns, and how much it actually changed, as he never thought he would fight against another Fusion User, which got him thinking, does he also know other Summoning Methods?

However, none of them could notice a small bug in the Data Storm that was like a firefly with the light being yellow coloured. Like it was recording something from the duel as it then exited the Data Storm, towards a young woman with a mask on her face. When it got to her, an unseen smirk appeared on her face. Despite being inside of the firewall, that didn't stop her as there isn't a single firewall that is able to stop her, well, all except for him.

The firefly was able to record everything that has happened inside of the Data Storm and the duel. The monsters, the combos, them flying around, Fire Prison, the defeat of possibly the most dangerous man on the planet and the talk about SOL Tech, "This is interesting, I have to say this much. Looks like Aki isn't going to enjoy this." she said as she decided to stay inside of the firewall, she wanted to know what happened next.

"I shown you that I could do it. That no matter what comes my way, I will win if I have my loved ones near me." Soulburner said as Varis stood up, clenching his arm with his other arm.

"I was proven wrong, that was correct, but just know this: This was only the start of this battle." he said as he narrowed his eyes, "Against you, SOL Tech and the Knights Of Hanoi, and let me assure you that no matter what comes next, we will win."

"I can't wait to prove you wrong a second time, Varis, because the next time we meet again, you won't stand a chance against us!" said Soulburner as Flame nodded.

"That's right, Varis. Because no matter what situation you put us through, you can't defeat us because we will get stronger than ever so there won't be a chance of you defeating us." said Flame as Varis laughed at that.

"Really, now? You're going to get stronger than now? Well that's good to know for next time." he said with a grin on his face.

"What do you mean by that?" asked Soulburner.

He laughed as he looked at Soulburner with a completely serious expression, "Because what you saw just now… was a mere fraction of my true power, the true might of the Knights Of Hanoi!" he said as he gripped his hand into a ball, "I wasn't even using my full deck! I only used my Ritual and Link monsters because I thought it would be enough to defeat you, but I now realize that I was wrong. The next time we will duel, expect the best from me." he said as the two looked at him in fear.

"You- You have been holding back the entire time?! Still?!" yelled Soulburner in shock as Varis grinned.

"Correct, and from the looks of it, if I used my other monsters, you wouldn't have stood a chance against me." said Varis as Soulburner looked at the ground.

He needed to get strong. He needed to get strong so he could defeat him, or at the very least, compete against him.

Flame on the other hand, had a different idea, "Not if I have anything to do about it!" he yelled as then from Soulburner's duel disk, appeared the form that he likes using when he is about to eat some data.

Soulburner watched in shock as Varis only raised his hand if even something like sneer would happen, as when it began to charge at him, he snapped his fingers as lightning appeared where he stood, shaking the entire Data Storm.

Soulburner and Flame had to cover their eyes when it happened as the AI returned to the duel disk when it happened. The dust settled down as they saw Varis floating in a green pillar, arms crossed, a scowl on his face and a green card in his hand.

"Nice try, Fire Ignis, but that wasn't good enough, I am afraid." he said as he raised a card from his hand as he then threw it directly towards Soulburner's hand as he caught it. "I, along with the other Knights of Hanoi, are men of their words, so, take that antidote and give it to Frostgirl, but remember this…"

They all looked at Varis, "This is only the start of this battle." Stage 4 didn't work out as he planned, but it still meant that he knew the effects of Pyro Phoenix and Violet Chimera. He then looked at his opponent as he then disappeared.

Soulburner looked at the sky, and then with a slightly shocked face at Flame, who looked like he didn't do something that was about to eat someone, but then again, he did do that like a couple of times, and he should get used to it.

He looked around on where he was supposed he should go after this duel, but he felt like this would be impossible to get out of here as he could tell that it will be dangerous to even touch the the data in the Data Storm, but then it began shaking inside of it, as they could tell that outside of it was dangerous to even be around.

He grabbed on the ground as then, it has stopped. Everything as he looked around.

The Data Storm was gone.

He was outside.

He was free from the Data Storm.

He breathed in and out as he looked around, as if he didn't see someone else, but he didn't see a young woman behind a building. He was on the top of a hoverboard. He was free.

He can finally save her.

She can finally be free.

But first…

Seigen was looking at the ground, and then to his best friend. He was getting worried, and how couldn't he? He was in a Data Storm, stuck inside of possibly the most dangerous man on the planet, which he had to duel, and he hasn't woken up.

He couldn't lose him as well… he couldn't. He doesn't want to even think about the possibility of him never waking up ever again, but looking at his opponent, it seemed very likely that will be the case shortly. He doesn't want to lose him, he was the only one left that he couldn't lose.

First them, then Kiku, and now… him. He clenched his fist into a ball as he tried, he tried his absolute best to think of a way that he could beat him, but…

but…

He couldn't.

He wanted them to be safe.

He wanted to be with his loved ones.

He didn't want to remember-

"Hey, Seigen! I have won the duel!" yelled Soulburner with a happy voice as Seigen's eyes widened when he heard that as he grabbed his laptop and his eyes widened once more as he grew a smile on his face.

"Oh thank goodness, man! You have no idea how worried I was worried for you!" he yelled as Soulburner smiled at the words of his best friend. The same could be said for him as well.

"Yeah, sorry that I made you worried, but hey! At least I got the antidote from Varis after I defeated him!" he said as Seigen took a deep breath.

"That's good to kno- wait, a minute." there was a pause as he looked at him not to mention Flame was also confused on why he said that, "Holy shit, you beat him?"

"Yep."

"I can vouch for him, he did with my help mostly." said Flame as his partner rolled his eyes at that.

"I- Respect man, but how? I don't think Heatleo could defeat him alone, or even Smoldering Bear." said Seigen as Soulburner chuckled.

"Actually, I didn't use him to win." Seigen looked at him weirdly as he continued, "I won the duel thanks to the help of my Pyro Phoenix, my Link-4, and my new Fusion monster, Violet Chimera!"

There was a pause in the air.

"So you are meaning to tell me," Seigen took a deep breath, "After all of this time, you had a Link-4 monster, not to mention a Fusion monster?!" man he hated Nephthys sometimes for having almost never new support, but his deck has more of it?!

"Look man, in my defense, I didn't know I had those cards in my Extra Deck!" yelled Soulburner in defense as Seigen breathed in and out in frustration. "But hey, can you look over the antidote to see if it's legit?" Flame nodded at that.

He was quite tired after that duel and from that nightmare.

Seigen sighed, "Sure man, I will just look over it while you go to her body." he said as he began looking over the antidote as Soulburner went to Frostgirl's body in Paris.

After a few minutes of floating through the small Data Material that was left from the Data Storm, as Seigen looked over the data of the antidote and to his shock it wasn't coded with any virus in the slightest, absolutely none. Quite shocking if he was honest.

Soulburner finally reached her body in Paris and he looked at her. Even while in a comatose state, he still found her beautiful. He looked at her with a smile on his face, and thankfully, he can finally wake her up.

He took the card in his hands and placed it on top of her body as from the data appeared data that was slowly, but surely going into her as he thought it was the best way to do that, but for some reason she wasn't waking up.

"Uh, dude… do you know why she isn't waking up?" asked Soulburner in slight fear that Varis lied to him.

Seigen looked at the data from the antidote and realized that it would only take about a minute for her to fully wake up, which he had… an idea.

"Yeah, I think I know why." Soulburner and Flame looked at the duel disk, "I am currently seeing the data of the antidote, I see that you need to combine the antidote first with a… kiss."

"What?!" yelled Soulburner with completely red face. He didn't expect that!

"What?" Flame was confused on why Varis, the Leader Of The Knights of Hanoi would ever add that to the antidote.

"Oh? This is getting spicy!" said the purple haired woman as she pressed record on her duel disk.

Varis in real life suddenly froze. He felt the need to slap someone for insulting/making fun of his inventions. Beat him up, beat him in a duel, lock him up, that's all fine and justifiable, but making fun of his inventions?! That's where he draws the line!

"What?" asked Seigen with a smirk on his face. He knows what is about to happen.

"How can you say something like that?" yelled Soulburner as Seigen looked at the data.

"Well, don't blame me, blame Varis for adding that, I have no idea why he added that." said Seigen as he leaned back. It's finally going to happen.

"But… but why a kiss?" asked Flame.

"Come on, man, all of the media we have watched result in the person waking up by a true love kiss." he said. He didn't like romance even the slightest, but for his friends it is a different story.

"Will she be okay with it? The kiss, I mean." he said as Soulburner was blushing as he looked at her.

"Dude… she has been crushing on you since like… the 4th, no wait, the 3rd grade. Just do it man, don't be a wuss." said Seigen as Soulburner gripped his hand.

He took a breath. He was nervous. He would rather duel Varis a 100 times, all at the same time, rather than be here. He gulped.

He took a breath as he leaned forwards as Flame finally realized that Seigen was lying as he could see her slowly waking up. As then…

…they kissed, with Soulburner's eyes being closed. It was a nice sensation for the both of them…

…to bad Kiku's eyes woke up as soon as he did so as she looked at him.

The purple haired woman laughed as she raised her hand, "Oh, I GOTTA upload this! How could I not?" she said as she logged off.

Soulburner then realized what happened as he backed away immediately. He could see the look on her face, it was as red as him, but it was also angry at the same time. "THEODORE HAMILTON, WHAT THE FUCK?!" she yelled at him.

Oh.

Oh.

He is fucked.

There are three reasons why. One: She didn't call him Teddy, rather his real name, even in Link VRAINS, which only happened a few times, but everytime she did, it shook him to his core. Two: She called him by his full name, and anyone who has been called by their full name is a dead man walking. Three: She cursed. She only cursed two times in her life, this not included, and let's just say, Seigen and Theodore couldn't sleep well those nights.

"Why the FUCK did you kiss me while I was asleep?!" yelled Kiku as Soulburner backed away from getting his ass kicked. Seigen was howling in laughter.

"Don't blame me, blame Seigen! He told me that an antidote plus the kiss would wake you up!" he said as Kiku's face became even more flustered.

"Why would that work?!" she yelled. She didn't… dislike the kiss, she was more angered that now was the time of their first kiss, and now, she is angry at the man that kissed her.

"Good point, why would that work? Frankly I am shocked that you even believed it." said Flame as Soulburner looked at him, and then to Kiku.

"Look, I am sorry that I did that, okay?! I just… don't know why I even thought that, it is just that… I don't know, I just don't know why I did that okay." he said as Kiku took a deep breath.

She knows why, or more specifically, who made him gave him the reason to do that move. Soulburner then realized it too.

"Oh, oh, he is dead." said Soulburner as he raised his hand and his duel disk.

"Wait," said Kiku as he turned to her, as she had a smile on her face, "Thank you. For saving me, Teddy, it really means alot that you went to all of this effort and trouble just for me."

Soulburner smiled at her, "Of course, I would. You do mean a lot to me, so how could I not?" he said with a blush on his face.

Kiku blushed as well, "That's great to hear, but Teddy, can you do one thing for me?" He turned to her.

"Yeah?" he asked.

"Beat his ass." she said simply as Seigen stopped laughing as his eyes widened as he could feel his best friend grinning when heard that. He jumped to his feet and ran from the room.

"Gladly." he said as both of them logged off at the same time.

When Theodore woke up, he immediately placed Flame on his bed and ran out of his room. Flame shook his head as he could hear very loud THUD!, POW!, BOOM! and KABLAM!s. And they were outside.

He then chuckled. He need that. From that nightmare and that duel against Varis. He could tell that this was only the beginning, both of the battle and something else.

DONE! FINALLY! I GOT IT DONE! 19k WORDS! Now, THAT'S impressive if I say so. I hope you guys enjoyed the duel and I am sorry that it took me this long to write it. It was a long duel to write, and I hope you guys liked it. It still isn't as long as my Season Finale.

Okay, where do I start? Well, I finished Jujutsu Kaisen while writing this, and I have to admit, I really enjoyed it! The characters, the story, the music, everything was a near masterpiece, as I can't wait for Season 2. I love Gojo, Todo and Megumi as characters.

I dropped Fire Force, because I CAN'T STAND THEIR FANSERVICE! It was just unbearable. One minute they are fighting, the next minute Shinra accidently touches Tamaki's you know what. I started Black Clover and I have to admit. On episode 4, I really do enjoy it. The story is neat, I love the animation, Asta and Yuno are very likeable, and I can't wait to watch more.

Here at our Angelmaker Counter, everyone! In here, in the span of a few episodes, we have Yusaku calling the hospital for Skye, waiting until Akira is there, dueling Varis for the antidote, giving her the antidote and not to mention, calling Akira's assistant for Skye in the hospital.

I heard that we are finally getting new Salamangreat cards because of the Legendary Duelists, which I can't wait to add to the fic! I see the monster looking like Soulburner's Link-5, and if it is, you bet your sweet ass I am giving him that monster in Season 2!

Now onto the duel in Canon. I really liked it, it was their second best duel as the season finale just can not be compared to this duel. I liked Fire Prison a lot, and that card is straight up BUSTED in this show, like wow! Any Cyberse deck would get bent by that card. I really liked Firewall and Borreload Dragons' first appearances here, and I just love those monsters in general.

That's right! Finally, Soulburner has his Link-4 and Fusion monster, and I have to be honest, I can't wait to write more about these two monsters. They are epic and do expect the Ritual and XYZ monsters, as I create a new Synchro monster!
