14. Dueling For Answers

Ken Valbrandur: Yep, I thought this would have been the perfect time to add the Nekroz Monsters. I might give Stormrider Spright monsters, but I am not sure at all, but yeah those AIs were going down in one turn. Yep, but I believe that in canon, Akira would go down to at the very least Specter, so here he is a bit stronger than in canon.

The Master Duel between Akira Zaizen, the man that plans to face the Knights Of Hanoi and SOL Tech alone and the one that has he wants everything to win, and Soulburner, the man that is dueling for the answers of the Lost Incident and for his friends, has only begun.

They were in SOL Tech's Database where everything they have to learn is there and they were fighting for it. If Akira wins, Soulburner and his pals have to stop what they were doing and he will face the Knights Of Hanoi alone, but if he loses, they get access to the databank and continue to face the Knights Of Hanoi, including Varis.

Frostgirl, Stormrider and Ghost Gal were the spectators of the duel as they waited for the duel to commence, but something didn't feel right as while they all knew what deck Soulburner plays, but they didn't know what deck Akira plays, which was the reason why there were on edge the entire time. But the only exception was Ghost Gal, as she knew what deck her boyfriend played.

The atmosphere was so full, they could cut it with a knife as they were waiting for them to start the duel.

Master Duel!

"Since I was the one to suggest the idea of the Master Duel and the stakes, I believe it would be fair for me to start, right?" asked Akira as Soulburner narrowed his eyes.

"Soulburner, I believe that would be the best choice because we get to see what kind of deck he plays and what archetype he would play so we could play around." said Flame as he tried to say his thoughts to the idea as Soulburner looked at him and nodded.

"Yeah, alright, you can go, Akira, but please do understand that you better have good way to defend yourself." said Soulburner with a grin as Akira nodded.

"Oh, I will, I assure you, but you will soon regret that choice." he said as he swipped his hand to reveal the 5 cards in his hand and looked over the potential new combos of his new hand and he nodded as he saw his hand, "Not bad," he said as he picked a card from his hand, "I will start by setting a card face down."

A card then appeared on his field vertically as it disappeared from his field as then he picked a card from his hand, "Then I will set a monster face down as well." he said as a card was set horizontally in front of him. "That will end my turn." he said as it kind of shocked them to hear that.

That was it? From what they have heard, they thought he would have a powerful board with a monster with 3000 attack points and it was near impossible to destroy. Maybe it was because they were kind of still scarred of Varis, but it seems that he had a different idea in mind.

"Did he brick?" asked Frostgirl as Stormrider shrugged his shoulders.

"Maybe, but I have no idea if I am honest. He seemed way too confident that it would work." he said as the turn clock went towards Soulburner.

Turn 2. Soulburner - 4000 lp - 5 cards

Soulburner looked at Akira as he tried to see if this is all a ploy, but from the looks of it, he looked legit the entire time which worried him. What was he planning on? He shook his head, he can't be worried about him.

"My turn, I draw!" he yelled as he drew the top card of his deck and then looked at it. He nodded as he saw two new cards from his deck while the rest of the hand were cards that could help him in the next turn.

He looked at it, and thought that the wise decision was to summon a monster that can deal piercing damage. He then took a card from his hand, "I normal summon Salamangreat Jack Jaguar!"

On his field appeared a jaguar with light brown fur around its legs and neck, as the paws were that of charcoal black, as it had a blue orb on its chest and had blue eyes as it had 6 spikes on the back of its body as they were on fire.

(Salamangreat Jack Jaguar: Level 4 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1800. Defense: 1200.)

Flame then pushed his arm forward, "Now, this card has another effect than just returning a monster to the deck to special summon itself from the graveyard, in fact, this one is helpful, because when it attacks a monster in defense mode, it can deal piercing battle damage!" The Fire Ignis yelled as Akira narrowed his eyes at that.

"Interesting." said Akira who wasn't worried once, they realized that this might be different from others.

"It is interesting, so… Battle! Jack Jaguar attacks your set monster with Fire Fang!" he yelled as the teeth of the Jack Jaguar began to heat up as the teeth looked like it could set something in fire from just biting into it, which was the point, as it began to charge directly towards the set monster.

Akira stood there unflinchingly as his set monster revealed itself. It was a monster that was a glowing green pyramid with mini fiendish looking pyramids with an eye on them on each pointy side as inside there was a monster glowing inside of it with 2 long wings and 8 legs and a long tail with the hands looking really spiky.

(Tindangle Jhrelth: Level 3 - Flip - Dark Fiend - Attack: 0. Defense: 1800.)

"The monster you tried attacking is my Tindangle Jhrelth, whose defense points are the same as your Jack Jaguar's attack points so it isn't destroyed!" yelled Akira as Jack Jaguar bit into the pyramid, but it was shocked instead as it began to run back to Soulburner.

"Now, the effect of Jhrelth activates! When it is flipped, I get to either add 1 Flip monster from my deck to the hand, or send it to the graveyard, and I will pick the first option," he said as a card appeared on the top of his deck as he took it and revealed it, "and the monster I choose is Tindangle Angel!" he said as the card disappeared.

"A Flip deck?" asked Frostgirl as she didn't expect a deck like that from him, but it wasn't unheard of since one of the most used monsters of all time were Flip monsters like the Jar monsters.

"That's right, but those aren't the only type of monsters I use." he said as Soulburner gritted his teeth.

He can feel that this will be a long duel. He took a card from his hand, "Alright, I will end my turn after I set this card face down!" he yelled as a card was then set vertically behind his Jack Jaguar.

Turn 3. Akira - 4000 lp - 4 cards

A card then appeared on the top of his deck and then, they felt it. A dark surge that this duel will go in a dark turn in events as they knew that the real duel has only begun, "My turn! I draw!" he yelled as he drew the top card of his deck.

And once he did, he looked at it and then back to Soulburner and from his expression, they can tell. Something bad is about to happen.

INTRO!

We see six different Ignis flying around the Cyberse, all with their accompanying archetypes, with Flame escaping the Cyberse in the hands of Theodore Hamilton as a second later, his appearance changed that of Soulburner as he began walking slowly with a determined look on his face. As then a Duel Monsters card appeared on the screen which was flipped over to reveal the words, "Bring The Heat, Soulburner!"

Grey words can't make anything happen

We then see Theodore facing backwards to a boy with silver hair and blue eyes, but was 2 years older than him as they both raised their heads, as they turned to Soulburner and Varis as they turned around as Salamangreat Heatleo and Borreload Dragon striked each other at the same time.

I know, yeah I know

Soulburner covered his face from the dust of the explosion as Varis was floating above him as he went flying on his duel board.

Wishing to fly freely across the sky

Soulburner then began to chase him with a duel board of his own with a determined face.

I dreamed it all my life

Once he got close, he somehow managed to dodge an attack from Specter's Sunavalon monsters as the Lieutenants of the Hanoi were along with him.

Step by step I go, though it's a doubtful world! Don't care how much I fall! Instinct is my guide, I never give up!

As soon as they appeared, Frostgirl, Stormrider and the Gore appeared with him to assist him in this match as Soulburner grinned ear to ear as they each faced one of the Knights of Hanoi, with Gore fighting Genome with his Gouki Suprex and Riscorpio as Genome had X-Kralwer Neurogos, Frostgirl having out her Nekroz Of Trishula on the field while Baira had her Dark Mummy Surgical Forceps, Stormrider with his Cerulean Sacred Phoenix Of Nephthys against Faust's Worm Zero as Soulburner passed Specter as his scarf hit the screen as a new transition was made.

To faraway future, I burst out running

We then see Soulburner flying on a duel board as then Stormrider and Frostgirl were near them, both with grins on their faces as Frostgirl winked Soulburner whose face flushed red for some time as then Flame appeared as he began flying with fire on his feet.

Go beyond even the unseen fears

Gore was then seen on a ring with his new Gouki XYZ monster with the kids looking excited with stars in their faces as he left out a dramatic roar for the audience.

The vision I had, so I can be myself

Akira was then seen with a determined face as he held a picture of his younger sister when she was younger as he then gritted his teeth. He looked down as tears went down his face as he remembered their past.

Someday I will write the next page

Ghost Gal then appeared with a saddened face as she saw Akira, as then the man raised walked towards the data bank of SOL Tech.

You are my hope

He then turned around as he saw Soulburner coming near them.

Like that page from someday

Soulburner then summoned out Salamangreat Miragestellio and Pyro Phoenix as Akira summoned out Tindangle Acute Cerberus as the two monsters clashed.

I was able to meet you

While the battle was commencing, Frostgirl watched the duel with a concerned face, but Stormrider's face wasn't shown as well as tears went down his face.

I call this a miracle.

We then see Kiku and Theodore with their arms opened towards Seigen as Flame was carrying the same motion as he had tears in his eyes as he then smiled as he fell to their embrace. Then a new screen was made as Theodore, Flame, Kiku and Seigen were smiling at the screen with Varis looking at them with his back turned against them with a wicked smile on his face.

Master Duel!

Everyone stared in silence as Akira looked at his new hand as from it, a combo appeared in Akira's mind that he couldn't stop to think about and the idea was just perfect in his mind. He looked at it and picked a card from it.

"I will start by setting a monster face down." he said as then a card was then set horizontally as they wondered what card did he set and what was the effect, but soon they will realize that card.

"Now, I will activate the Continuous Spell card, Stairs of Mail!" he yelled as the Spell card appeared on the field as he threw his hand forward as he began to explain the card's effect, "Once per turn, I can discard one Tindangle monster from my hand like my Tindangle Base Gardna…" he said as a card showed itself as it was then turned to data.

"So one face down defense position monster I control changes to face up attack position, so show yourself, Tindangle Angel!" he yelled as then on his field appeared a purple fiend as it had a long tail, a blue heart was wrapped around by its skin and even the blue eye as it had dark brown wings.

(Tindangle Angel: Level 3 - Flip - Dark Fiend - Attack: 500. Defense: 1800.)

Ghost Gal crossed her arms as she realized just how serious Akira is right now as that monster resembled someone to him and soon, one of his strongest would be summoned.

"Tindangle Angel's effect activates! When it is flipped, I can special summon 1 Flip monster from my deck, hand or graveyard in face down defense position," he said as a card appeared on the top of his duel disk as he took it, "So I will now set a monster like my Hound!" on Akira's field appeared a card that was set horizontally.

That was a weird combo which didn't make any sense. Why would he send a monster from his hand to flip Angel, only to flip it and then set the monster he just sent? That didn't make any sens-

"Now, I will activate my Spell card, Book of Taiyou!" Oh, now that makes sense as the card appeared on his field, "This card allows me to target one face down monster on my side of the field, so reveal yourself, Tindangle Hound!"

The card was then flipped as the monster revealed itself, as it was a monster that resembled a hell hound, as the claws around his body, his head, claws on its legs and around the neck was bright red, but the tail, shoulders, neck and legs were dark purple as the ribs were protecting the heart and on the shoulders were blue eyes.

(Tindangle Hound: Level 7 - Flip - Dark Fiend - Attack: 2500. Defense: 0.)

Soulburner, Frostgirl and Stormrider stood there as they looked at the monster. It was terrifying to look at it and it was that of a being from hell, but Akira looked at it with a different view. He didn't saw it as a terrifying monster, but a monster, and Angel, that resembled how he would do anything for his sister and how they have each other's back, but… he can't stop now.

Akira looked at him, "I now activate the effect of the flipped Hound! When it is flipped, I can target one monster on my field like my Tindangle Angel and I can change it to face down defense position," he said as Angel was then flipped over and set vertically as then his Hound began to glow red.

"Now, when I do that, my Hound gains attack points equal to the amount of the newly set monster, and since Angel's attack was 500, so my Hound gains 500 attack points!" he yelled as his Hound roared in power as Soulburner tried to cover himself from that roar, but it would soon be meaningless.

Tindangle Hound: 2500 - 3000 attack points

It was silent as Akira closed his eyes and then pushed his arm forward, "Battle! Tindangle Hound attacks your Jack Jaguar with Hell Howling!" he yelled as dark energy appeared from the mouth of Tindangle Hound and was shot directly towards Jack Jaguar as it then destroyed, making a small explosion as his monster roared in pain.

Soulburner was shot from his feet, but he managed to catch himself before he lost control over his feet.

Akira: 4000 lp

Soulburner: 4000 - 2800 lp

"Now, if you think that my Hound's attack points return to normal after this turn, I am sorry to burst your bubble, but Hound's attack point change is permanent!" he yelled as their eyes widened when they heard that.

"Things just got serious."

"Yeah, it did." Soulburner said as he raised his duel disk.

Akira looked at his field and the semi loop he could create with this. He can set Angel thanks to Hound's special effect, making him able to special summon Hound back to the field in defense mode and end the battle phase, and it could work thanks to Hound's other effect of when it is destroyed, it can flip over Angel.

Akira looked at Soulburner as he closed his eyes, "I end my turn." he said.

Turn 4. Soulburner - 2800 lp - 4 cards

"Alright, my turn!" he yelled as he drew the top card of his deck and then looked at it and nodded. It was a decent new card that would help him in this duel, but he wasn't sure if it would help him in this current turn.

He placed it in his hand and then took a card from his hand and slammed it on his duel disk, "I will begin by normal summoning my Salamangreat Wolvie!" he said as he smirked as then a flame appeared on his field.

The flame then turned into a monster he would occasionally summon. It was a wolf with more of a bigger type of body as it had bones as claws on each paw, and had bones around the torso, legs, neck and the head, as it had red armour around each start of a leg and the entire body was on fire as it roared in power.

(Salamangreat Wolvie: Level 4 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1700. Defense: 1000.)

"Soulburner," his partner looked at him, "Activate our set card!" the partner of the Fire Ignis nodded with a smirk.

"Right on!" he pushed his arm forward, "I activate my Trap card, Salamangreat Revive!" he yelled as his set card revealed into one of his newer cards that was a trap card that revealed Salamangreat Falco in a blazing fury.

Flame then began to explain the new Trap card, "This card allows us to special summon 1 Fire monster in our graveyard, so come out, Salamangreat Jack Jaguar!" a card popped out of his graveyard slot as he took it and smashed it on his duel disk.

Salamangreat Jack Jaguar then appeared on the field as it roared when it did, but Akira eyed it.

(Salamangreat Jack Jaguar: Level 4 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1800. Defense: 1200.)

"I am sorry to tell you, but those two monsters won't help you in this match. Not even if you link them up for Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf, it won't be enough to destroy my Tindangle Hound." said Akira as then Ghost Gal remembered something.

"Uh, Aki, I forgot to mention something." Akira turned to her in interest.

"Yes, what is it?" asked Akira as he didn't see the other three smirk.

"Well… those are enough for his XYZ monster." she said as Akira's eyes widened. Well, this just got worse for him.

"She is right as I now build the Overlay Network as I overlay my Level 4 Salamangreat Wolvie and Jack Jaguar!" he yelled as he pushed his arms forward as images of Wolvie and Jack Jaguar appeared on each arms as he combined as data appeared behind him, create a small galaxy inside of it as then a machine appeared in front of him as it sucked those two to create a new powerful monster.

Soulburner then raised his hand as the data went towards his duel disk and began to chant, "The scorching dragon that boils the oceans and incinerates the skies! Arise in a pillar of glory! XYZ Summon! Rank 4, Salamangreat Blaze Dragon!"

Then on his field appeared a dragon that was larger than Hound with 2 red Overlay Units, as it had two large sets of wings that fire came out of them as the legs were rather more like spears more than anything with a metal sword like tip of the tail as the tail was purple on the top, beige on the bottom as the scales were blue as it roared when summoned as around the blue fire began to increase in temperature.

(Salamangreat Blaze Dragon: XYZ - Rank 4 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 2300. Defense: 1200.)

Blaze Dragon and Hound looked at each other as from their breaths were different coloured fire, but Akira stood tall as he narrowed at Soulburner as Ghost Gal tried to warn her boyfriend, "Hey, Aki, fyi, it can negate its destruction using its Overlay Units so you have to find a way to defeat him soon."

"Thank you for the information Ghost Gal. I will use that to my best powers, but I am not confident that it will go through this turn as his Blaze Dragon is weaker than my Hound." he said as Soulburner smirked.

"Are you sure about that?" he said as he took a card from his hand as he activated it, "I activate my Quick-Play Spell card, Salamangreat Tail!" the spell card appeared on the field as Flame pushed his arm forward.

"This card allows one Salamangreat monster on our field to gain attack equal to its defense points until the end of the turn, so our Salamangreat Blaze Dragon gains a total of 1200 attack points!" yelled Flame as the XYZ Salamnagreat monster roars in power as it glew red for a bit.

Salamangreat Blaze Dragon: 2300 - 3500 attack points

"Not to mention, after our monster gains those attack points, our life points gain the exact same amount as its defense points!" yelled Flame as Soulburner glew red as he smirked the entire time.

Akira: 4000 lp

Soulburner: 2800 - 4000 lp

Akira looked unbothered, but they can tell he was a bit nervous during this entire turn, but that didn't stop them, "Battle! Salamangreat Blaze Dragon attacks your Tindangle Hound! Hyper Blaze!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as then inside of his XYZ monster's mouth blue flames.

The monster then shot directly towards Hound as Akira covered himself so he doesn't get attacked during it as his monster roared in pain.

Akira: 4000 - 3500 lp

Soulburner: 4000 lp

Akira only looked at him with determined eyes, "Impressive, Soulburner, but I am afraid that it won't be enough to stop me." he said as Soulburner smirked.

"Oh, we will see about that, I will end my turn." he said with a smirk.

Turn 5. Akira - 3500 lp - 1 card

Akira was silent as a card appeared on the top of his deck as he took it, "My turn, I draw." he said as he looked at it and nodded. It was Nagel's Protection, a card that will help him in this turn, but not at this exact time.

They were all quiet as if they can feel the power and the malicious aura of him leaking out, but it somehow wasn't dark at all, but it felt powerful and nearly nauseous. Akira was only silent as he looked at his hand and knew that if Soulburner doesn't do anything right here and now… he will be left defenseless during this turn.

Akira gripped his hand into a ball as he then pushed it, revealing his hand as he yelled out, "I will now reveal my set card, Tindangle Angel! Come out!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as his Tindangle Angel's card was flipped to reveal the monster that will help him summon out his strongest monster and his ace of his deck.

(Tindangle Angel: Level 3 - Flip - Dark Fiend - Attack: 500. Defense: 1800.)

A card then appeared on the top of Akira's deck as he yelled out, "Now, Tindangle Angel's effect activates! I can special summon 1 Flip monster from my deck, hand or graveyard straight to my field, so I choose my Tindangle Dholes from my deck!" he yelled out as a card was then set vertically on his side of the field and next to Angel.

Then his Continuous Spell card, Stairs of Mail began to glow, "I now activate my Spell card's effect! Stairs Of Mail allows me to send one Tindangle monster from my hand, like my Tindangle Watcher, so I can either set or flip one of my Tindangle monsters, so I will now reveal my set Tindangle Dholes on my field! Come out!"

On his field appeared a massive snake-like fiend on his side of the field. The main body was that of light blue pyramids stacked on top of each other with spikes inside of every other pyramid as on the bottom it was purple flesh and on the top it were the regular eyes on them, as the neck part was that of a blue metal cage on it, as the head were the pyramids opening up to reveal a single Tindangle eyeball.

It freaked everyone out when he did summon that out.

(Tindangle Dholes: Level 5 - Flip - Dark Fiend - Attack: 1000. Defense: 1000.)

"That is the most disturbing thing I have seen in a while." said Frostgirl as the others agreed.

"Ditto, that is just… erh, disturbing." said Stormrider as he cringed just looking at that monster.

"I assure you that it isn't too frightening, but his flip effect activates! When he is flipped I can send one Spell or Trap card from deck to my graveyard," a card appeared on Akira's duel disk as he took it, but then sent it to his graveyard, "So I will send my Euler's Circuit to the graveyard." he said.

That was it? If they were honest, they didn't see why he would do a move like that in a deck consisting of flip effects, but they guessed it wouldn't hurt them. But summoning a monster like that just didn't seem that important.

Then they saw something that might help them realize what was the most important thing on the field. 3 monsters on his field.

"From your expressions, I can tell that you finally figured out what I am going to do next, and you are correct! I will now reveal my circuit!" he yelled as then from the palm of his hand appeared a circuit that looked like it came from Hell itself, "The Summoning Conditions are 3 Tindangle Monsters, so I set my Tindangle Angel, Dholes and Jhrelth in the Link Arrows!" he yelled as all three of his monsters flew directly to the Link Arrows.

He then began to chant, "From the gates of Hell appears a guardian whose main job is protecting the weak, as the three heads look down on the ones who would harm them! I Link Summon! Link-3, Tindangle Acute Cerberus!" As then on his field appeared his ace monster, a monster that looked like it came from Hell itself. The monster had 3 heads, the right and left ones were blue, while the middle one was purple as they had blue spheres around each of the heads, as a purple tongue came out of the middle one, with eyes all over the monster, as the wings were dark blue and purple with eyes around the start of the wings, as the lower part of the body was mostly a large tail, with the claws being purple as it had two front legs.

The monster roared in power as it looked down at Blaze Dragon and its duelist.

(Tindangle Acute Cerberus: Link - Dark Fiend - Attack: 0. Link-3. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Bottom-Left and Bottom-Right.)

Everyone looked at the powerful looking Link monster in shock as Ghost Gal chuckled at those reactions. Sure it may look strong and terrifying, but it was like Akira, looks scary, but is just adorable to her.

But they noticed something about that monster that didn't make any sense to them.

"Uhm, sorry to ask, but with that big of a chant, I was expecting something…big y'know? So why does it have that little of attack points?" asked Soulburner as Akira did a small smirk.

"That? Oh, it is simple. You see, when I have 3 different Tindangle monsters in my graveyard," his eyes darkened, "It gains 3000 attack points."

"Oh damn." said Stormrider.

Tindangle Acute Cerberus: 0 - 3000 attack points

They were taken a back from that large attack point gain, but Akira wasn't done as he took the last card in his hand, "I will now activate the Continuous Spell card, Nagel's Protection." The Spell card appeared on his side of the field.

"I will soon explain the effect of my Spell card, but first… Battle!" he yelled as the middle head of Acute Cerberus charged up an attack that was purple, blue and black, "Tindangle Acute Cerberus attacks your Blaze Dragon! Acute Math Blaze!" he yelled as the attack went towards Blaze Dragon.

"Not so fast! Salamangreat Blaze Dragon uses it's Overlay Unit to negate its destruction by battle!" Flame yelled as Soulburner took a card from his XYZ monster and his XYZ monster ate one of the red Overlay Units.

"You see that?! Our monster isn't going anywhere!" yelled Soulburner with a smirk.

"But you still take the damage!" yelled out Akira as his Nagel's Protection glew for a bit, "Or should I say, double damage since once per turn, if a Tindangle monster attacks a monster by battle, the battle damage is doubled!" he yelled as the fire of the Link Monster got stronger twice as it nearly engluved Blaze Dragon as Soulburner and the rest had to cover themselves.

After a few seconds, Soulburner looked alright with a few scratches around him, some dirt around Blaze Dragon, but the other three were alright.

Soulburner: 4000 - 2600 lp

"Are you sure about that?" asked Akira as their eyes widened when they heard that.

"What do you mean by that?" asked Frostgirl as Akira smirked when she said that.

"Well, you see… when my Tindangle Dholes is used as a Link Material for a Tindangle Link monster, that Link monster can attack 3 times every single Battle Phase." their eyes widened when they heard that.

"WHAT?!"

"3 times for every Battle Phase?!"

"Are you kidding me?!"

"Oh Byte!"

"That's right! And this is only the start of this barrage! Acute Cerberus attacks you again! Acute Math Blaze!" he yelled as the left head of the cerberus shot fire directly towards Blaze Dragon as it tried to block the attack.

Soulburner pushed out his arm forward, "Thanks to Blaze Dragon having one more Overlay Unit, I can send it to the graveyard to negate its destruction!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as the final Overlay Unit was eaten.

"You still take the damage!" he roared as Blaze Dragon was engulfed once more by the flame, but this it was weaker.

Akira: 3500 lp

Soulburner: 2600 - 1900 lp

The dust was then settled to reveal Blaze Dragon weaker than ever as it was barely flying on the field and Soulburner was breathing heavily. Frostgirl wanted to help her boyfriend out, but she knew that it was impossible to join a duel once it started.

"It looks like your resources have finally fallen out and your Blaze Dragon will soon be finished in this turn." said Akira as once he raised his arm for an attack, Soulburner smirked.

"Not quite. Ya, ready Flame?" he asked as Flame nodded.

"Right on! We activate Salamangreat Blaze Dragon's effect! During the Battle Phase, if it has 0 Overlay Units, we can rebuild the Overlay Network using it as the XYZ Material!" Flame yelled as data appeared all around him and Soulburner as the same machine that was used to XYZ Summon Blaze Dragon appeared on the same spot as it was being sucked in by the machine.

The data went into Soulburner's duel disk as he began to chant, "As the skin falls off the scorchin' dragon, from it emerges a more powerful dragon of victory! I Reincarnation XYZ Summon! Rank 4, Salamangreat Blaze Dragon!" as then on his side of the field appeared the same Blaze Dragon in defense mode, but this time, it felt more powerful as the flames around him were hotter and bigger than the last time as when it looked towards Acute Cerberus, it made a small snarl sound as it was ready to destroy it.

They looked at the dragon in awe as even though it looked like the same dragon, it felt much more powerful to look at as the fire was coming around him much more naturally.

Soulburner then smirked, "Now, since he was Reincarnation XYZ Summoned, his reincarnation effect activates! He destroys one monster on your side of the field, so say goodbye to your Acute Cerberus!" he yelled as Akira's eyes widened.

"Alright, if this connects, he won!" yelled Stormrider as Akira pushed his arm forward.

"You will do no such thing! I reveal my Trap card, Gergonne's End!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as his set card revealed itself as he began to explain the effect, "With this, I can equip this card to a Tindangle Link Monster! And when I do, my monster can not be destroyed by monster's effects!" he yelled as their eyes widened.

"What?!" he yelled as Blaze Dragon shot a powerful red fire towards Acute Cerberus, but it didn't even scratch him.

"Now, to use up that last Overlay Unit, Acute Cerberus attacks your Blaze Dragon with Acute Math Blaze!" he yelled as the right head began to charge up a purple ball of fire as it shot directly towards Blaze Dragon.

Soulburner gritted his teeth, "Blaze Dragon's effect activates! My monster can't be destroyed if I use up an Overlay Unit!" he yelled as Blaze Dragon ate up an Overlay Unit, but it was engulfed by the flame.

When it was done, it was revealed to be Blaze Dragon, but this time a bit weaker than usual.

"Don't even think you are safe!" Akira yelled as their eyes widened as he pushed out his hand, "If my Acute Cerberus attacked this turn, I can special summon a Tindangle Token next to its Link!" he yelled as they took a step backwards.

On his field appeared a small fiend with a small tail and 3 spikes on the back as the head was the bottom of a pyramid as on the middle was an eye. It was in defense mode.

"Then, if a monster is in its Link Arrow, Acute Cerberus gains an additional 500 attack points!" he yelled as his Link Monster began to glow red.

Tindangle Acute Cerberus: 3000 - 3500 attack points

"Is there any other moves you have this turn?!" yelled Stormrider as Akira smirked.

"You can say that."

"You just had to jinx it." said Frostgirl as she looked at Stormrider.

"Thanks to Nagel's Protection, my monsters in the main monster zones can't be destroyed by battle or by effects." Soulburner readied his duel disk as he had to think of a way to destroy that field. "I end my turn."

Turn 6. Soulburner - 1900 lp - 3 cards

Soulburner looked over at Acute Cerberus, "Man, that monster is just tough to deal with! A monster that can have almost 4000 attack points, can attack 3 times every Battle Phase and can't be destroyed by monster effects?! I need to destroy this now!" he thought to himself as he looked at the top of his deck.

"My turn! I draw!" he yelled as he drew the top card of his deck as he looked at it. It was a really good card that will help him out if he somehow doesn't destroy that Link Monster by the end of this turn. He took his Salamangreat Blaze Dragon, "I will start by changing the position of my Salamangreat Blaze Dragon in attack mode!"

He looked at his hand and smirked, this could really work out in his favour. A card popped out of his duel disk, "I activate the effect of Salamangreat Revive from my graveyard, I can target one monster on my side of the field like my Blaze Dragon," he pointed at his monster as then a card popped out his graveyard slot as he took it, "So I can shuffle a monster with the same name as my Blaze Dragon to the Extra Deck so my monster's attack points double!"

Akira raised an eyebrow as Blaze Dragon began to glow red for a bit.

Salamangreat Blaze Dragon: 2300 - 4600 attack points

"And that's not all! I activate the Quick-Play Spell card, Salamangreat Charge!" he yelled as then on his field appeared a new card on the field with an image showing Gazelle, Almiraj and Beat Bison charging at someone.

"This card allows us to destroy one card on the field if we control a Salamangreat XYZ monster with a different attack point value, so we choose your Gergonne's End!" yelled Flame as from the Spell card appeared a fire tornado that went straight towards Akira's Trap, but Akira showed a monster from his graveyard.

"Not so fast! My Tindangle Watcher's effect from the graveyard activates!" a monster appeared on his hand with the image of the Tindangle Eye looking at the front and nothing else, "If this card is in my graveyard, cards from my Spell and Trap zone can not be destroyed!" yelled Akira as the fire tornado went towards his Gergonne's End, but the card was remained scratchless as it was like a leaf touched it.

"Damn it, that Trap is still on the field!" yelled Soulburner as Flame looked at him.

"True, but that doesn't mean we don't have a couple of moves left in our turn." Flame said as Soulburner nodded at what he said as it was true. They still had a couple of moves left in their sleeves and this was only the start of it.

"You're right, Flame and this is the only start of this! Battle! Salamangreat Blaze Dragon attacks your Tindangle Acute Cerberus! Hyper Blaze!" from the mouth of Salamangreat Blaze Dragon appeared a massive torrent of flames that were of blue flame as it circled around the mouth as even from far away, they can feel the heat coming towards them as Akira and Ghost Gal began sweating.

As it was then shot directly towards them in a fast motion towards Tindangle Acute Cerberus as it looked like a massive wave of blue flames went towards Akira as he gritted his teeth, "I don't think so! Gergonne's End allows my monster to not be destroyed by battle!"

Soulburner gritted his teeth as he still pushed out his hand in a fast motion as the fire came closer and closer towards the opponent, but he continued, "But you still take the damage!" he yelled out as the fire finally connected towards them.

Once the fire died out, we see Ghost Gal completely unaffected as she was the furthest away from them, while collecting some data, Tindangle Acute Cerberus growling, but still a bit weakened and Akira on his knees breathing heavily.

Akira: 3500 - 2400 lp

Soulburner: 1900 lp

Soulburner saw and watched Akira beginning to stand up from that powerful blast as he had to know what was the strength of that Trap card, "Hey, what are the rest of the effects of your Trap card." he said as Akira looked at him.

"If you want to know… then I will tell you." he straighten his back, "It allows my Tindangle Acute Cerberus immune to destruction by battle and card effects, and it can not be targeted by other card effects, so your Fusion of Fire card won't work well against it, and there is a final effect. And that is when all of his Link Arrows are filled with monsters, it destroys itself and all monsters and you take damage equal to the attack points of all the monsters on the field." he said as their eyes widened as they realized that most likely… he had to avoid using one of the main monster zones that could help him in a duel like this, but it would be hard to avoid one of them.

"Looks like I have to avoid using one of my own Monster zones." said Soulburner, but he won't stop now. Not ever.

He then took a card from his hand, "I will now activate the spell Fury Of Fire!" the Spell card appeared on his side of the field as Flame began to explain.

"This card allows us to special summon 2 Salamangreat monsters from our graveyards in defense mode, but we can only special summon from the Extra Deck this turn only once!" he yelled out as Soulburner took two cards from his graveyard slot as he took them.

He then slammed them as then on his side of the field appeared fire, which then showed Jack Jaguar and Wolvie on the field, all in defense mode.

Soulburner breathe in and out. He can survive the next turn, he knows this, but was he afraid?

No, it can't be. He shook his head. "I end my turn." he said.

Turn 7. Akira - 2400 lp - 0 cards

Akira looked at the small defense from Soulburner and he realized that he was trying to survive this turn from his Link Monster, but he will make sure that won't happen in this turn and plans to make this the last turn.

"My turn, I draw!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as he drew the top card of his deck and then looked at it, which he then played it, "I will start by activating my Magic Planter!" the Spell card appeared on the field as he began to explain, "This card allows me to send one Continuous Spell card on my side of the field," his Stairs Of Mail disappeared from the field as two cards appeared on the top of his deck, "So I can draw 2 cards from my deck!"

He swiped his hand to see his hand. One of the cards was the field Spell, Euler's Circuit, which might help him in this duel, but most likely wouldn't since he had to control 3 Tindangle monsters to even activate its full power of his monsters never being attacked, but thanks to Nagel's Protection, that was already a given, but the other card though?

"I activate the Spell card Graceful Charity!" the spell card appeared on his field as 3 cards appeared on his duel disk as he took them, "This card allows me to draw 3 cards from my deck, but the price is that I have to discard 2 cards."

He swiped his hand, as 4 cards appeared as he looked at the new cards with interest as he saw a potential combo in his hand that would help him immensely in this turn and overall duel if this goes well, which it will go like.

He picked two cards from it, "I will pick these two," he picked two cards as they disappeared and went to his graveyard slot.

He then brought his hand forward, "Since Tindangle Acute Cerberus can attack 3 times per Battle Phase, I don't have to worry which monster I have to attack! So… Battle! Tindangle Acute Cerberus attacks your Salamangreat Jack Jaguar! Acute Math Blaze!" he yelled as the right head of Acute Cerberus shot a powerful purple blast towards Jack Jaguar as it roared in pain as it did.

"Now, round 2 for Tindangle Acute Cerberus! Attack Salamangreat Wolvie! Acute Math Blaze!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as the left head also shot a powerful purple blast towards Wolvie as the monster roared in pain when it was destroyed as Soulburner had to cover himself.

Before Akira could even lift a finger, Soulburner raised his arm forward, "I play Salamangreat Blaze Dragon's effect! When it doesn't have an Overlay Unit during the Battle Phase, it is used as an Overlay Unit for a Reincarnation XYZ Summon of it!" he yelled as then data appeared behind him as if it were data as then a machine appeared below Blaze Dragon which sucked it up as it was turned into data.

Soulburner raised his arm as the data went into his duel disk as he began to chant, "As the skin falls off the scorchin' dragon, from it emerges a more powerful dragon of victory! The others gritted their teeth. They could use Blaze Dragon's effect when it is Reincarnated, but they knew it was useless as Gergonne's End would help it make it useless so he didn't bother with it, but it did prove to be a useful thing for them to survive this turn.

"Very well, I will continue my assault!" he yelled as he pushed his arm forward, "Battle! Tindangle Acute Cerberus attacks your Blaze Dragon! Acute Math Blaze!" he yelled as the purple attack went straight towards the Blaze Dragon, but Soulburner won't let it die just like that.

"I don't think so! Blaze Dragon will survive this attack if we use 1 Overlay Unit!" said Flame as their XYZ monster ate up an Overlay Unit as it was attacked by the powerful Link monster, but it wasn't destroyed.

"Oh yes! We did it, Flame! Our monster survived this turn! And you can't do anything against that!" yelled Soulburner as Akira smirked.

"Are you sure about that?" he asked as their eyes widened.

Oh no.

He pulled out a card from his graveyard, "I activate Transaction Rollback from my graveyard! By paying half of my life points (LP: 2400 - 1200.) I can activate a Trap from my graveyard! And I choose Zero Sprite!" he said as the card appeared on his field.

"This card allows me to equip to a monster whose attack points are originally 0," the card appeared as it went towards Tindangle Acute Cerberus, "Now, it can attack twice per turn!" All of them gasped, even Ghost Gal.

"One more attack?!"

"Are you kidding me?!"

"That means… 4 attacks from one monster?!" all of them yelled at the same time.

"That's right! Tindangle Acute Cerberus attack Blaze Dragon! Acute Math Blaze!" he yelled as all three heads charged a powerful purple blast as it went towards Blaze Dragon as the XYZ monster roared in pain as Soulburner's field was finally empty.

"Now, since my Link monster attacked this turn," they forgot about that part as then a Tindangle Token appeared on his field, "A Token is summoned next to its Link! Which means his attack points are now…"

Tindangle Acute Cerberus: 3500 - 4000 attack points

4000. Those were some of the highest attack points that could be in any monster.

Soulburner looked at him. That won't stop him, but why… why was he so determined? It almost drives him mad.

"I end my turn with a card face down." said Akira as he closed his eyes with a card being set vertically.

Turn 8. Soulburner - 1900 lp - 2 cards

Soulburner took several breaths as he looked at Akira as he saw the almost indestructible monster he has with 4000 attack points, with him limiting 1 of his main monster zones and him unable to destroy two of his tokens with his Continuous Spell card.

But he won't give up, instead… he will win this turn! Right here and right now!

"My turn! I DRAW!" he yelled as he drew the top card of his deck and looked at it… he then… smirked.

A combo was almost set in motion as he slammed the newly drawn card on his duel disk, "I normal summon Salamangreat Foxy!" he yelled as then on his field appeared a blue fox with green eyes, with red colouring around his neck and knees, with the part of his knows and front body being light blue with the tail being pitch black and the tail on fire.

(Salamangreat Foxy: Level 3 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1000. Defense: 1200.)

Flame pushed his arm forward, "Its effect activates! When it is normal summoned, we get to look at the top 3 cards of our deck, and we get to pick one of the cards if it is a Salamangreat card." he said as Soulburner looked at the three new cards and they looked at it.

Their eyes widened with one of them as it was a new Trap card that would for sure help them in this duel and they had to have it in their arsenal. He picked it and returned the two other cards to their deck as it was then shuffled.

"Now, it is time for me to Blaze The Circuit!" he yelled as on the palm of his hand appeared fire as it went to the circuit to create a brand new circuit. "The Summoning Conditions is one Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster, so I set Foxy to the Link Arrows!" he yelled as his monster turned into a fire as it went towards the bottom Link Arrow.

"I Link Summon! Link-1, Salamangreat Balelynx!" he yelled as then on his field appeared a lynx on their side of the field as it had rockets on the back of its body, with a ruby on its head, green eyes, with the ears being orange and red, as the rest of the body was a mix of red, orange, white and gray, with the tail being light black as the tail was golden and acted like a torch as it was on fire.

(Salamangreat Balelynx: Link - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 500. Link-1. Link Arrows: Bottom-Middle.)

A card then popped out of his duel disk as he then took it, "When it is Link Summoned, I get to add the Field Spell, Salamangreat Sanctuary!" he said as he then revealed the card to everyone as he added that card to his hand, but this was only the start of his plan.

2 cards popped out of his graveyard to which he took them, "Then Jack Jaguar's effect activates in the graveyard! We can shuffle one Salamangreat monster from our graveyard like our Blaze Dragon," he said as Soulburner returned it to the Extra Deck, "So we can special summon it from our graveyard!"

Soulburner slammed the card on his duel disk as then Salamangreat Jack Jaguar is summoned on their field for the 4th time this duel.

(Salamangreat Jack Jaguar: Level 4 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1800. Defense: 1200.)

Akira narrowed his eyes, wanting to know why he did that as he knew no monster in his deck could stack up to his monster with 4000 attack points, but Soulburner had a different idea.

"I now activate the Spell, Salamangreat Recurrence!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as the card appeared on his field as he began to explain the card's effect, "With this, I can add 2 different named Salamangreat monsters from my graveyard back to my hand!" he said as two cards popped out of his duel disk as he took them and revealed them to everyone as Foxy and Wolvie.

"I won't use them for summoning them, but I will activate my new Field Spell, Salamangreat Shrine!" he yelled as his Field Spell slot was inserted out of his duel disk as he slammed the card on the spot as then on his terrain it was changed, to a terrain made out of pure fire and inferno as it looked like they were in hell as they began to sweat.

"Now, allow me to explain this field Spell's effect! We can show a Salamangreat Sanctuary in our hand," Soulburner did so as he took his entire hand and placed it in his deck, "so we can shuffle our entire hand into it, so we can draw a brand new hand!" he yelled as their eyes widened as Soulburner began to draw 3 new cards.

"He got a new hand!"

"Come on, end this!" Frostgirl and Stormrider yelled at the same time.

"I plan on it!" he yelled as he looked at his new cards and smirked. He was about to win, right now, this turn! He took one of the cards as he inserted a card into his duel disk, "I activate the Spell, Fusion Of Fire!" he yelled as they grinned when they heard that as Ghost Gal narrowed her eyes, but Akira wasn't bothered by it.

"Don't even bother! I know that it can use even my Link Monsters as a Fusion Material, so don't even think about using my Acute Cerberus thanks to my Gergonne's End!" he yelled as Soulburner clicked his tongue, but he still will continue.

"Well that is fine, because I will use my Salamangreat Jack Jaguar and Balelynx as Fusion Materials!" he yelled as Jack Jaguar turned into blue data and Balelynx into red data as they then began to circle around each other into a spiraling vortex as they crashed into each other, creating a small explosion.

Soulburner began to chant, "When the flames consume the old, a new creature emerges to reign supreme! I Fusion Summon! Appear, Salamangreat Violet Chimera!" he yelled as then on his field appeared the very monster that defeated Varis in a duel, as it was a massive purple monster, as the legs and arms were like of sharp swords, back of the legs as the back of the legs were wires, with green orbs around it, with small and powerful wings as they were 6 of them, as the head was that of a lion, left arm of a snake and the right of a bird.

Akira stood tall as he didn't look bothered by it.

(Salamangreat Violet Chimera: Fusion - Level 8 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 2800. Defense: 2000.)

Akira knew a few things about the monster because Ghost Gal did show the monster in his duel against Varis, and knew how powerful it was, but he did the math in his head and knew that it wasn't strong enough.

"Now, once it was Fusion Summoned, our monster has one great effect! It gains attack points equal to half of the Fusion Materials! So become stronger, our monster!" yelled Soulburner as his monster roared in power as it glew red for a bit.

Salamangreat Violet Chimera: 2800 + 250 + 900 = 2800 + 1150 = 3950 attack points

"I am not sure what that was supposed to accomplish as your monster was not strong enough to destroy my Acute Cerberus and it is only 50 attack points weaker than my monster." said Akira as he looked at Soulburner who smirked.

"Oh you will see just soon enough!" he looked at Flame, "Ready?"

"Ready." said Flame as Soulburner smirked.

"Battle!" their eyes widened when they heard that, "Salamangreat Violet Chimera attack Tindangle Acute Cerberus! Violet Soul!" he yelled as his monster began to glow purple as then from the mouth of his arms and head a purple flame appeared from it.

"Are you insane?! You will lose one of your strongest monsters in this battle!" he yelled as Soulburner smirked.

"Are you sure about that?" he asked as they all looked at him, "Because when Violet Chimera attacks a monster whose attack points are different…" he smirked, "his attack points double."

"WHAT?!" yelled Akira for the first time as the fire of Violet Chimera began to grow to a massive amount.

Salamanagreat Violet Chimera: 3950 - 7900 attack points

The fire went towards Acute Cerberus as it wouldn't be destroyed, but he will still take damage.

"If this connects…"

"...he won!" they yelled as the fire went towards Acute Cerberus as then…

"Are you sure about that?" asked Akira as they eyes widened as a card appeared on his field as he began to explain, "I activate Tindangle Watcher's effect from my graveyard! When a Tindangle monster is involved in a battle, you lose 1000 points and I don't take any battle damage!"

"Say what?!" yelled Soulburner as the fire went towards Acute Cerberus.

"And thanks to my Gergonne's End, my Acute Cerberus isn't destroyed by battle!" he yelled as then an explosion appeared on the field, but once it was clear, it was revealed Akira and his Link Monster without a scratch on him.

"Damn it." said Soulburner as he wondered, why was he so damn determined. Even more than Varis.

Akira: 1200 lp

Soulburner: 1900 - 900 lp

He gripped his hand into a ball as he gritted his teeth. He looked at two cards in his hand and he took one of them, "I end my turn with a card face down." he said as then a card was set vertically behind his Fusion monster.

Salamangreat Violet Chimera: 7900 - 2800 attack points

Turn 9. Akira - 1200 lp - 1 cards

A card appeared on Akira's duel disk as he took it, "My turn, I draw." he said as he looked at the top card as he knew that if he doesn't get over the powerful Fusion monster this turn…then he will lose the duel.

He won't let that happen.

For her.

He looked at the card he just drew…he had a small smirk on his face, but he mustn't feel to cocky. Because he has to first, "I reveal my Trap!" he yelled as the card appeared on the field as it revealed itself, "Morley's Shield! This card allows me to negate battle damage once per turn if you attack into my monsters in the Main Monster zones." he explained, but that wasn't it.

He took the card in his hands and activated it, "Now to end this facade! I activate my Spell card, Pump Up!" he yelled as the Spell card appeared on the field as he began to explain, "This card targets one monster on my side of the field like my Acute Cerberus and then his attack…doubles."

"WHAT!?" yelled everyone as even Ghost Gal was shocked by those words as Acute Cerberus roared in power as it glew red.

Tindangle Acute Cerberus: 4000 - 8000 attack points

They all stared at the powerful monster as they all took several steps behind them as they saw a massive amount of attack points and it was almost like a combination of two things. An unmovable object and an unstoppable force.

All mashed together in one monster.

And what's worse is that it can attack 4 times in one turn. This…doesn't seem winnable. Not even the slightest.

"This is over, Soulburner. This was fun, but I am afraid that this journey has come to an end! BATTLE!" he yelled as he pushed his arm forward, "Tindangle Acute Cerberus attacks your Salamanagreat Violet Chimera! Acute Math Blaze!" he yelled as his monster began to charge up a massive purple ball of fire in each mouth as the fire began to become so hot it could rival that of the Sun, but it wasn't done yet.

"Don't forget Nagel's Protection can double up any damage you would take during one of the attacks!" he yelled as the fire went straight towards Salamangreat Violet Chimera in the speed of what felt like the speed of light as it went straight towards the Fusion monster.

Soulburner nearly saw the light in his eyes flash before them, but he won't lose! Right here and right now! He won't lose!

"I activate the Trap! Mirror Shade!" his Trap card revealed itself as a barrier appeared around Soulburner, "This trap allows me to pay half of my life points in order to not take any more damage for the rest of this turn!" he yelled as a blue light appeared around him.

Akira: 1200 lp

Soulburner: 900 - 450 lp

Akira gripped his fist, looks like this still won't end, but still…"Your monster is still getting destroyed!" he yelled as then his monster's flames finally attacked the Fusion monster as the flames were so hot that it dominated the actual flames of Violet Chimera as the monster roared in pain as the barrier began to… break.

Soulburner and Flame's eyes widened when they saw that as the flames wouldn't stop burning as then after a grouling few seconds of the barrier breaking and the front parts of it, slowly, but surely, breaking apart as then…it exploded as Soulburner's body began flying around the arena as Frostgirl and Stormrider saw him in pain, they nearly went towards him, but then they saw fire around him from Tindangle Acute Cerberus.

The fire slowly went away as Soulburner tried his hardest to stand up as he went past his limits as he slowly got up, but every time he does, his body almost felt like breaking up, but he can't stop here. He has to know… of what happened.

He has to. But Akira, why?

Why?

Why was he so determined?

That was his main question. He felt like not even Varis, the most terrifying person anyone could even meet, the leader of the Knights Of Hanoi, was this determined. It wasn't even a competition.

So why?

Why?

"Why?" they all looked at Soulburner as he had to catch his breath slowly as he breathed in and out as he looked at him, "Why are so damn…" he took another breath in as it was difficult to say it, "Why are so damn determined?" he asked as Akira raised an eyebrow at that.

"What do you mean by that?" he asked as Soulburner closed his eyes and then opened them again as they noticed a disturbing amount of scratches on his face.

"I mean, come on! You are quite possibly the most determined person I have ever met! It is even fair on how determined you are! Not even Varis compares to you and he went out of his way to make a virus in a card for a duel that didn't go to his favour as a part of his plan! You are somehow more determined than him, and I just don't get it! I mean, why are you doing this?! Why are you going out of your way for something this big?! You dueled out of your way to make me lose with all of the things you have on your field, so tell me, why are you so damn determined?!" yelled Soulburner as Akira became quiter as they all looked at him.

They had to admit, even Flame had to admit, Soulburner was right about this as Akira might honestly be more determined than them, but they want to know why? The exact reason why he even went out here.

Akira was silent as his eyes were covered by his bangs. "You want to know why?"

Flame looked at him, "Yes, we do want to know so we can at least understand your frustration and how we can work things out here. So please, tell us why." the Flame Ignis said as Akira sighed as he looked up.

What came out of his words shocked all of them.

"Because… my sister was part of the Lost Incident." he said as their eyes widened from that.

Wait, what?! They all looked at him as they heard that they can't do anything, but trust him because who would lie about that? His very own sister was in the Lost Incident.

Ghost Gal looked at Akira in shock when he said, "Wait, Skye was a part of the Lost Incident?" Akira was silent as he nodded slowly, "But, why didn't you tell me that?"

Akira gripped his hand, "Because I… no, I can not lie about this. It is because those were the worst parts of my life and I have never wanted to relive or think about that past ever. Not once." he said as they all looked at him, but Stormrider looked at him with an expression that they couldn't really describe.

"But, I can tell that you all want to know more about my past, so if you will allow me to do so, to explain our past." he said as he then began to tell everyone in this room the past between him and his younger sister, Skye Zaizen.

Akira Zaizen wasn't an ordinary kid when you first looked at him. Most kids when they were little were playful, like to play with other kids, hang out and have fun, even playing games like Duel Monsters, Pokemon and other games, but Akira mostly was alone and liked to be alone.

He didn't hate anybody, far from it, he just wasn't interested in hanging out with anyone or having any friends. Heck, he didn't even want to have a sibling because it would take away most of his time away from someone he most likely wouldn't have cared for.

Even when he was taking pictures of him as a kid, he rarely even smiled. The most you would ever get would be a smirk or two, but that was about it. He seemed to be the life of the party, even for his age.

But there was something that even he knew what was going on between his parents. They didn't love each other anymore as they would continue to have arguments after arguments after arguments. They seemed to be miserable to be around, and it wasn't shocking to him that at the age of 10, they got a divorce.

The trial lasted for weeks and Akira's dad, Kenzo Zaizen, got full custody of him while his mom, Airi, got some of the objects like the car.

That didn't mean that they were left without some money, far from it, Kenzo was a wealthy man and him buying a car for him and his son wasn't that much of an issue, but Akira knew that his father wasn't happy, because who would be after a divorce with a woman you once loved?

No one can, and Akira, while not being good at it, did want to make his father somewhat happier by any means necessary, which while it didn't work, Kenzo was at least glad that he knew that his son did care for him.

But, after a few years of being single, he did fall in love with a foreigner who moved into Japan with her daughter. It was a woman with short brown hair by the name of Allison and her daughter was named Skye.

From what he can remember and from what they heard about, was that Allison's husband tragically died in a plane accident, which hurt to hear someone so young die and from what they have heard about him, sounded like a decent and loving man who would do anything for his wife and daughter.

Kenzo told his son that after dating Allison for 2 years, they got engaged, which made Akira happy for his father, but he then heard something that he didn't want to hear. He will have a step-sister. Which, didn't suit right with him.

He doesn't hate the idea or want the spotlight, no he just wants to be more peaceful and he would love to not waste most of his free time on her, but nevertheless, maybe it will work out.

And after a few months, they finally met and Akira saw her and he felt like he had a heart attack when he saw her. She was the most adorable girl he has ever seen in his entire life. How was it even possible for a person to be this cute?! Skye nearly went around Allison's legs when she saw her step-brother's reaction.

Akira swore to himself that no matter what, he would protect her if his life depended on it. He promises that no matter what happens to him, she will be safe. He could be on his deathbed, and he would still make sure that she is safe.

Thankfully, after a few weeks of being together, Skye did grow to be more comfortable towards her new older step-brother as Akira was glad to see her being more comfortable around him, which warmed his heart.

He did everything in his power for her to be happy, even buying her a new group of cards by the name of Trickstars which quickly grew to be her favourite Duel Monster deck and frequently tried to duel other kids her age and even Akira from time to time, but she never quite managed to beat him in a duel, but she was doing better and better each duel.

They even went out as she was clinging on Akira's legs whenever they did as she was too shy to meet other people which Akira found to be adorable. It was nice to be around someone you can trust, and Skye always felt safe whenever she was around Akira and his heart was strung anytime she clung on him.

Heck, he went out to pick her up from school whenever school was done for her.

It all seemed that everything went well for the Zaizen household, but that soon was going to end horribly.

One night, when Akira was studying for an upcoming test and Skye was watching some Pokemon, Kenzo and Allison went out for dinner in a more classy restaurant. It all went well for the Zaizen household, but something terrible happened.

Allison and Kenzo…tragically died in a car accident, which destroyed Akira and Skye to a massive degree. The man that raised Akira for years alone after a divorce and the woman who raised Skye after the death of her first husband…were dead.

Skye cried her eyes out when she heard the news and Akira was silent the entire time, but he did comfort Skye the entire time as he let her cry on him while his clothes got wet from her tears, but he didn't mind it. It was nothing compared to the death of their loved ones.

It was horrible the entire time to think about something like the death of their parents, especially for Skye after her first dad dying in a plane accident and now her parents died in a car accident.

As if to add salt on the wound, they were homeless since Akira wasn't of legal age to inherit the money so they couldn't live in their house for long.

Akira, a 16 year old boy, was left without a home, two dead parents and a young girl that he had to care for, but that didn't stop him. He promised himself that no matter what, he will make sure that Skye has a comfortable home no matter what happens to him.

He went everywhere he could to get money or some food, even if it was mentally destroying him and his moral ground, but he had to do it. For her. It didn't matter what he did.

He either would be a bounty hunter hunting rogue AI, hacking a bank for a mafia boss that would have resulted in him being critically injured or worse, but that was nothing. He had to preserve.

Even while studying late on school nights, when he could fall face first on the table from sleeping too much, he sees Skye sleeping on the couch with a blanket covering her and a plushie of Evilswarm Mandragora in her arms, he smiled as he continued to study.

For him, Skye was the main reason why he even continued to go on. She was the light of the never ending tunnel of pain and suffering, which made him feel determined to go on.

But he can tell that this has also affected her, and he hates it almost as much as her. He had to continuously move from city to city, which made her feel lonely and alone with no one that she can call a friend. Even when she does, she never has any time to get to know them, which results in those memories slowly fading away.

One day, she did find something interesting where Akira didn't have anything to do in a store and it was a book by the name of Blue Angel, a book where the main protagonist was an angel who looked like a cold-hearted angel and acted tough, but use to cry to herself about loneliness. One day she was abushed by evil monsters, but thankfully, her angel comrades came to her aid and helped her, which made her learn about kindness and friendship.

The book resonated with her because of how much she relates to the main protagonist because of her loneliness and that one day, hopefully, she could make several friends along the way. Akira read to her that book almost every night, and while he was getting bored of it reading the same story over and over again, he didn't mind it because he loved seeing a smile on his sister's face.

Thankfully, one day while in the park, she met a girl her age that had pink hair and gray eyes by the name of Miyu Sugisaki. To her, it was weird that someone would be this friendly to her which no one else had before, but she didn't hate it, in fact she loved it and quickly became friends with her.

Those two became inseparable, which Akira was glad to see Skye finally be happy like she was before with a new friend, as they did everything together. Play with the sand, watch shows on the TV, and they even had sleepovers together over at Miyu's house which made Akira relax for a bit. He can rest for a tiny bit, which he doesn't mind.

Skye even tried to put the blame on her rather than on Miyu after she dropped her mother's wedding ring in the sewers, but it didn't work out, but Miyu did appreciate doing something so big for her.

This… feels something that feels safe and that it could lead to a good future which makes both of them happy. Sure, Akira will have to work overtime most of the time, but if it leads to her happiness with her new friend, then he will gladly take that more than anything else.

But…something horrible happened.

A thing that scarred Akira for the rest of his life and something that he will never forgive himself for.

One day when Skye was at a park while waiting for Miyu to arrive until two scientists in a robe were near her. She was obviously scared for her life when they were coming closer and closer towards her so she decided to run away, but she wasn't fast enough. She was dragged into an alleyway and even though she struggled, she couldn't stop them from using Chloroform on her and it knocked her out.

Once Akira heard the news, he panicked, but who wouldn't be? He ran everywhere trying his best to find his sister, the only family he has left. The only reason why he even continued onwards.

He was in full denial of it, and he went all around, asking people if they saw Skye, even using a picture of her, which didn't help in the slightest. It felt pointless to continue, but he can't stop! Not now or ever!

But over a couple of days, he felt sick, and tired, because he didn't know how to feel. It really did seem like he will never see his sister ever again. His baby sister.

He dropped to his knees as he began to cry about the potential loss of his little sister. He felt awful. He felt sick to his stomach. He just can't take it anymore, he had to let it all down.

It was his fault. He should've been there when she got kidnapped. He should've waited until Miyu and the rest arrived. He should've…

He should've…

He can't even finish it.

Those 6 months were the worst parts of his life. Countless "What ifs" popped in his head whenever he thinks about her and her safety.

He couldn't sleep well as he couldn't stop thinking about the safety of her, and even if he did, he would've had nightmares about him and Skye having a regular day as slowly, but surely, she was being dragged away by some force of nature as she kept yelling him to save her, but he couldn't move, it was like he was paralyzed as he saw the person he loves the most being dragged away which he couldn't stop , and one of the worst parts of it was that it was always hated with her yelling at him, "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! I HATE YOU!" and he wakes up from it, full of sweat and then began to cry about it.

The days for him was hell. It all felt long and… he can't stop thinking about the nightmares about it. He always had eye bags under his eyes and he looked like he had the life taken away.

He even became cold towards everyone and he didn't meant for it. He just… didn't have any energy about it.

He tries his hardest to stop thinking about the bad ideas, but how can he if she was even okay?

He felt horrible.

But everything changed, for the better.

One day, after school, he laid on the bed, depressed like before, but he got a phone call from someone he didn't have the number to. He answered it and heard that it was an eight year old boy's voice.

He nearly cancelled the call until he heard his name being mentioned, which got him interested in how he knew that, which the boy didn't answer, but he did mention something about his sister, which he jumped to when he heard that. He got the address of where he should be, and he trusted him in a heartbeat.

He couldn't waste this chance! Not in a million years! He got an Uber and told him the directions of where they have to go, and after a few minutes of doing so, he got there safe and sound.

He looked over to the police officers carrying six children, until one of the police officers walked up to him with a tired girl in his arms. He nearly yelled in joy of seeing her as he took her immediately before the officer even asked if he was Akira, which he did say towards them that he is Akira.

He looked over towards his sister and looked over her body. She was dirty all around, which made sense, it looked like she didn't eat much at all, but what stuck out to him like a sore thumb were the lighting scars all around her legs, arms and even parts of her body, which implied that she was shocked. Alot.

He was shocked to see her like this, and he knew that those scars may look threating to anyone else and a bit scary, but he didn't mind them. It didn't mind if she had hundreds of them, she still will be the same cute girl in his mind, but he knows that she won't have the same feelings about them, and he will understands why.

But he was still grateful for one thing.

That she is now safe with him.

Akira was now finished when telling the story of his past. The worst part of his life which they would understand was why was he so determined to duel for answers, anyone would for their sibling.

Ghost Gal was quiet and saddened to hear that from Akira and even though she wanted to learn more about it, she knew that it wasn't the right time. Flame, as much as he didn't know the full human emotions, understood how painful it would be for someone to nearly lose their loved ones. Frostgirl felt the pain when she didn't see Theodore for god knows how long and even Seigen for that long, but she knew that it didn't even compare towards his pain. Soulburner was in shock. One of the 6 Lost children was his sister as well?

The pain from both of his sister and from Akira was incalculable, and he understood that he is doing this, not for any selfish ideas or morals, but to protect them from the Knights of Hanoi like he would've his sister.

But Stormrider? He was quiet.

"Do you now understand why I am so determined Soulburner?" asked Akira as he looked at his opponent, "I am not doing this for any horrible reasons like running the company, overthrow the higher ups or collecting the Ignis for profit, I am doing this so I can protect you. Not just you, but all of the Lost Incident children as I want to do something I should've a decade ago have done. Protecting my sister and others from the Knights Of Hanoi, even if something like this is currently happening." he looked over to his Tindangle Acute Cerberus and then back to him.

"I know that I don't know the pain any of you have gone through, but I know for a certain that something like the Lost Incident must've been traumatic, something that no sane person could've think about or even done to another human being. Going through something like that isn't healthy or good for you. You should bring that in the past and leave it behind like I did to my past," he thought to himself as he remembered how he tried his hardest not to remember his past when he was a bounty hunter with Ghost Gal and The Shepherd, but he looked onwards, "So please. This is your final warning. Surrender now and walk away. Leave this to me and you, including your Ignis, will be safe, and let me handle the Knights Of Hanoi alone. I don't want you to get hurt from this. You are kids and have fun. Go around, hang out, watch movies and shows, play some games, laugh and all of that, and you don't have to worry about a single thing about the Knights of Hanoi." said Akira as they all thought about it.

It would be nice not to worry about it and to hear some encouraging words from someone that sure they didn't know up to this point, but from what they have heard did sound like a trust worthy guy, it almost felt like the correct thing to do.

However.

One didn't agree to that.

"And what the hell do you have the right to tell us that?" they all turned to Stormrider.

"Pardon?" asked Akira.

"I said, and what the hell do you have the right to tell us that?" he said as they were confused on why he meant by that, "Sure, I will give it to you about this. Your love about your sister is admirable and the fact that you want to protect us is a noble feat, and the fact that you are willing to duel the Knights Of Hanoi is something to be admired by, and I do understand at how painful it might have been to you when she was in the Lost Incident for 6 months, but do you know how painful it was… to be…" he was silent as he gritted his teeth. "TO BE IN THE LOST INCIDENT?!" he yelled as their eyes widened when they heard that.

Frostgirl gasped as she realized why he wasn't the same as before 10 years ago and why he was saddened whenever they talked about parents or why they weren't allowed in his house any more. Akira and Ghost Gal stared at him as he yelled that. Soulburner couldn't believe that…his best friend… was also a part of the Lost Incident? How… How could he be so foolish?!

Flame stared at him and realized the similarities to him and the Wind Ignis at the hair, the colour scheme and even their name related to each other. He should've connected the dots earlier.

"Do you know what it was like?! To once wake up in a room with no food, water, bed or people around you with a duel disk in the ground that was your only source of entertainment and socializing?! To only have the schedule of sleeping, dueling and eating, only for the times not even getting enough time to even eat so you could only sleep or duel, but you can't even sleep no more of the horrible nightmares of haunting me which made me exhausted to no means and I couldn't move a muscle?!" he yelled as he had to let it all out. All of his frustration in one moment. "Do you know how close I was to losing it? To almost have no more saviour until a voice gave me inspiration to at least fight back, just a tiny bit more? Even if it was small, it helped that it was thankfully my main motivator…"

He gripped his hand, "Do you know how painful it was whenever you lost a duel? Oh, you might think it is just a GAME OVER screen, but you couldn't be further from the truth! I was electrocuted, shocked to no ends and even SLAMMED ON THE WALL! Nearly breaking most of my bones most of the time. It was the most painful experience in my entire life! I couldn't even SLEEP because of those injuries!"

He took a breath, "All I had to think about was my freedom and the people I love so I can escape that hell. No TV, no internet, no nothing. That was the main reason why I even continued to push forward and it hurt everytime when I felt it, but that wasn't enough for me to give me the full strength to push forward." he said as he looked down.

"The hospital stay wasn't bad, but it felt empty without my parents. Sure some were there for me, but not the people that I loved to my heart's content. Once I was fully healed up, I had to learn the truth, the painful truth that no kid should ever hear, especially that they were 6." he was quiet as he lowered his head as they could hear sobs from him, and they even saw a few tears coming down to the ground.

He looked up and they all saw his face, full of tears, full of sadness, "They were DEAD! The Lost Incident was the cause of their death! I KNOW IT! I did the research of it, and then… then they were dead because of that stupid project!"

He placed his hands on his hair, "The people I loved were dead because of a project that not only me, but 5 other children had to suffer through 6 god damn months! I can't handle the pain anymore! The pain I held for 10 years! The pain of losing my parents! The pain of constant nightmares of being the Lost Incident! The pain that no one was there for me to comfort me for it! NOTHING!" he looked at Akira straight to his face, "So tell me, what right do you have to tell us that?!"

He began to breathe in and out as he realized what he had done. He told them everything. Something that he didn't want to say to anyone, was spilled at this moment. Right here and right now.

He looked around to see the shocked face of Ghost Gal, the saddened look from Akira, a shocked, but regretful expression from Soulburner and Frostgirl and an understanding look from Flame.

He breathed in and out. No, he didn't want this. He didn't want this to happen and for all this to be on him. He didn't… He didn't…

He touched his duel disk and logged off.

It was silent. The entire room was silent. You can drop a pin and you would hear it.

Frostgirl and Soulburner looked at each other and without any words, they perfectly understood each other as Frostgirl logged off.

Akira didn't turn around, "Ghost Gal." his girlfriend looked at him.

"Yeah?"

"Please, log off."

"But-"

"Please, Ghost Gal, log off." he said in a pleading tone as Ghost Gal was silent as she sighed.

She also logged off.

Now it was fully silent. It was now Akira and Soulburner. Mono e mono. Two people who are fighting for SOL Tech's databank and to fight the Knights of Hanoi.

"Akira," the man in question looked towards Soulburner as he had a fully serious face, "I came here for the databank, but now, I have another reason why I must win this duel. Right here and now."

"I understand, Soulburner, but you won't win."

"No, I will." he said as he closed his eyes, "I will win and after it, I am going to confront Seigen about this. So I will end this quickly."

"I see, well go ahead. Since I end my turn." he said as his Tindangle Acute Cerberus glew blue.

Turn 10. Soulburner - 450 lp - 1 card

Soulburner began to breathe in and out as he placed his fingers on the top of his deck. Flame wanted to give his friend a good draw, not for the databank anymore, but for a different reason. "My turn… I… DRAW!" he yelled to the heavens as he drew the top card of his deck as he flipped it. He looked at it and nodded.

"Good, I activate the Spell, Pot Of Greed!" the Spell card appeared on his side of the field, "With this, I can draw 2 cards!" he yelled as he ripped the top two cards of his deck. He was silent as his eyes wandered at the two newly drawn cards…

"I will first start off by activating Mystical Space Typhoon!" he yelled as then on his field appeared the Quick-Play Spell as then a typhoon appeared from the Spell card in a massive torrent of wind, "With this, I can destroy one of your Spell or Trap cards, so say goodbye to Nagel's Protection!" he yelled as the torrent of wind went towards the Spell Continuous was then destroyed as Akira covered himself.

"Now, I will now normal summon my Salamangreat Mole!" he yelled as then on his field appeared a small mole that had brown skin, a red line in the middle of its body, with fire around its paws and armour around his eyes, shoulder pads, neck, back, tail and legs as it had emerald eyes.

"Now, I will now Blaze The Circuit!" he yelled as then from his fingers appeared fire in which then in return created a circuit, "The Summoning Conditions is 1 Normal Summoned monster with 1000 or lower attack points, so I set my Salamangreat Mole in the Link Arrows!" he yelled as then his mole went to the Link Arrows in blazing speeds.

"I Link Summon! Link-1, Salamangreat Almiraj!" on his field appeared a small fox-like monster on his side of the field, as the fur around its tail, neck and horn were on fire, as it had brown eyes, blue orbs around the stomach, hot red pink ears as it had grey blades around the arms and legs.

"Since a Salamangreat monster was sent to the graveyard, I get to special summon Salamangreat Gazelle from my hand!" he yelled as then on his field appeared a gazelle with emerald eyes, two long black horns, white colouring around the hooves and neck, silver hooves and the back side was on fire.

"Salamangreat Gazelle's effect activates! When it is summoned onto the field, either by normal or special summoning it," a card popped out of Soulburner's deck as he took it, "We can send a Salamangreat monster from our deck to our graveyard." said Flame as his partner did so as he sent the card to his graveyard.

But then, it was slotted back as Soulburner then took it, "But since it was Spinny and I control a Salamangreat monster, I can special summon it back to the field!" he said as then on his field appeared an armadillo lizard as the spikes on the back was either orange or black, as the top of the head was gold, the eyes were emerald green and the skin was brown.

It was quiet for a second as Soulburner, Akira and Flame were silent. Akira knew that they weren't done, but what they were planning?

"Ready, Flame? For our second one?" he asked as Flame nodded.

"Ready as I ever will be!" yelled out Flame as Soulburner smiled.

"That's what I wanted to hear! I build the Overlay Network!" Akira's eyes widened? He has another XYZ monster?! "I overlay my Salamangreat Spinny and Gazelle for the Overlay Network!" he yelled as he pushed out his hands as the images of the two monsters appeared on his hands as he then combined his two hands as then a galaxy amount of data appeared behind of him as then a machine appeared on the field as it sucked in Gazelle and Spinny into it as then the data went around.

Soulburner raised his duel disk as the data went to his duel disk as he began to chant, "This wild steed blazes through the tundra to charge every illusion! I Xyz Summon! Rank 3! Salamangreat Miragestallio!"

As then on his side of the field appeared a majestic stallion as the fur was pitch black as it had bone like metal armour around the chest, neck, snout, front legs, back legs, as the orbs and eyes were orange as the hair on the head, tail and what looked like wings on the majestic creature were all on fire with 2 red overlay units were around it.

Akira looked at the monster in interest as he was confused on how this would help him in defeating him this turn, even if his Nagel's Protection was destroyed, but he knows that Soulburner isn't finished just yet.

"Miragestellio's effect activates! We can detach 1 Overlay Unit," one of the Overlay Units went towards its mouth and ate it up as it roared, "So we can special summon 1 Salamangreat monster from our deck," a card popped out of Soulburner's deck as he took it, "So welcome Salamangreat Fowl!"

As then on his side of the field appeared a peacock like monster on his side of the field as the wings were green, to dark blue and then to light blue as the skin of the bird was black as the crystals were made out of crystals as the beak was blue as the back of the monster was on fire.

A card then popped out of his graveyard as he took it, "Salamangreat Jack Jaguar's effect activates from the graveyard! I can return one Salamanagreat monster like my Mole," he said as he returned the monster back to the deck as it then was shuffled. "So I can special summon my Salamangreat Jack Jaguar to my field next to Salamangreat Almiraj's Link!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as he took a card from his graveyard again as he slammed the card on his duel disk.

As then, for the fifth and most likely the last time in this duel Salamangreat Jack Jaguar is summoned onto the field.

Akira counted the number of monsters on the field and realized what he was going to do and judging at how Soulburner was quiet the entire time he knew what was about to happen next.

"For you, Seigen," he said as his fist was engulfed in fire as then he punched the fire in the air as it created a circuit, "I Blaze The Circuit! The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Fire monsters, so I set my Salamangreat Jack Jaguar, Fowl, Almiraj and Miragestellio in the Link Arrows!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as all of his monsters went into the Link Arrows, one top, two in the middle and then one in the bottom.

Soulburner began to chant, "As from the ashes of all the fallen monsters, a true phoenix's might is born as the true potential of the wielder is created! I Link Summon! Descend, Link-4, Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix!" he yelled as then Akira had to cover his eyes from the heat of the new monster as he saw the monster in all of its glory.

It was a Phoenix that wasn't massive, as it was the same size as Soulburner, but the size didn't lower its powerful presence as the armour was crimson red with a red cape behind it, with massive shoulder pads, kneecaps and even some spikes around its body as the wings were a top shade of red.

Akira stood tall as he knew that it was the monster that was almost the reason that Varis lost his duel against him, but he realized something about it when it was on the field.

It was right next to Tindangle Acute Cerberus' Top Link Arrow.

"It seems that you have made a mistake, Soulburner," the man in question was silent, "As now my Gergonne's End activates! When all of the Link Arrows were filled, it destroys all of the monsters in the Main Monster zone and you take damage equal to Acute Cerberus' attack!" Akira yelled as his Trap card glowed as Soulburner smirked.

"Are you sure about that?" Akira's eyes widened, "I activate my Trap, Salamangreat Roar!"

"What?!" he yelled.

"If you activate a monster, spell or trap effect while I control a Salamangreat Link monster then… I can negate the activation and destroy that card!" he yelled as Akira's eyes widened as he took a step backwards.

"WHAT?!" he said as he covered himself from Soulburner's Trap a wave of flames coming directly towards his Gergonne's End as then… the protection of his Acute Cerberus was gone.

"My Acute Cerberus still has more attack points than your Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix!" he yelled as Soulburner smirked.

"Flame do the honours."

"Of course." Flame looked at Akira, "Salamangreat Shrine's other effect is that of Salamangreat Sanctuary, which means that we can use Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix as the entire Link Material for the Link Summon!"

"That's right!" purple flame appeared around Soulburner's fist as he punched the air to create a purple circuit, "I set Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix in the Link Arrows!" he yelled as his monster went towards the purple circuit.

He then began to chant, ""Pyro Phoenix, let the flames engulf your body! Because from its ashes you will be reborn! Super Reincarnation Link Summon! Soar, Link 4! Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix!" as then on his field appeared a monster like a flaming jet flying towards the field, creating a small crater on the ground as the fire went out as it was then revealed as Pyro Phoenix, but this time it was much more powerful.

Akira stood tall looking at the powerful Link monster as he knew how powerful it is, but he is going to fall down to a monster like that. Not like this.

"Time to finish this! Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix has a great Reincarnation Link Summon effect!" he yelled as a ball of hot, steaming, boiling blue fire appeared in its arms, "I can destroy every card on the field! Go, Sacred Reincarnation Bombing!" he yelled as the monster threw the ball directly towards Akira's field.

Vaporizing his Link monster, his Tokens, his Morley's Shield and his Zero Sprite. He was left…with nothing.

Only one card in hand that wouldn't have saved him in this turn.

He didn't look angry, he was… disappointed in himself that he couldn't finish the job. He closed his eyes to show that he admits his defeat.

"It was nice knowing you, Akira, but I am sorry, but I have to finish this now." he said as Akira nodded.

"I understand and go ahead." he said as Soulburner and Flame nodded at that.

"Alright. Battle! Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix attacks you directly with Sacred Phoenix Blast!" they yelled at the same time as the monster raised its hand to create a ball of blue fire around its fist as it then punched directly towards Akira as it looked like a massive beam of destruction went towards his way as he stood there, still with his eyes closed, knowing that he wasn't strong enough.

The flames went away as they then saw the aftermath.

Akira: 1200 - 0 lp

Soulburner: 450 lp

SOULBURNER: WINNER!

Akira standing with burns around his body, but with a face that didn't seem to be full of pain or anger, but rather of understanding.

It was quiet for them. It was finally over. The duel between Soulburner and Akira ended in the former's victory.

"So, it seems that my strength wasn't enough." said Akira as Soulburner began to walk in the databank.

"Yeah, but don't sell yourself short. You proved to be more of a pain than Varis did in our duel so at least be glad that you managed to push me beyond him." he said as Akira smiled at that.

"I guess that is an accomplishment." he said as he began walking away, "A deal is a deal. I won't stop you from doing your own thing and you can get the databank."

"Yeah. See you, one day." he said as Akira smiled.

"One day." he said as he logged off.

Soulburner and Flame were the only ones in the room as they looked at it. They can learn everything from it, from the origins of the Ignis, the names of the other Lost Incident children, the mastermind behind it, but they have to hurry it up.

For Seigen.

Flame went to the form he uses whenever he eats up data and went towards the databank, as he ate data and data from every inch of the databank as Soulburner patiently waited for him to finish, but after a minute or so, he was finished.

Flame was breathing in and out. He looked at Soulburner and without even saying anything, they knew that he was finished at that he ate everything, even the minor data.

They were done. Now, they have to go to someone.

Someone that needed help.

DONE! FINALLY! 17K WORDS AND I AM DONE! Dang, this chapter was a heavty one! I hope you guys enjoyed it.

Time for me to do the Angelmaker Counter. In the dub, Akira said that Playmaker might be his sister's age, which Ai said, and I am kidding you, "You tryin' to set them up for a date?" and the exchange they had in Episode 19 about his past. Also this might be minor, but him activating Firewall Dragon to return Angel and Hound back to the hand as they, like Akira and Skye, don't belong there.

I know that Miyu Sugisaki is one of the Lost Children, but I changed it to Skye because… I don't know, I thought it would be more interesting and the bond between Aqua and Skye might be closer than in canon.

Also poor Seigen.

Alright, here are my thoughts about Akira. I love him. That's it. He is one of the best older brothers in all of Yugioh, and that's saying alot when we have Kite Tenjo, Seto Kaiba and Joey Wheeler. His love for his sister is something to be admired by and the fact that he dueled twice, but showed immense power in each duel is just amazing. His best moment in canon is when he stopped Bohman's machine while being paralyzed. King.

The duel in question was a decent one and I do love the plot elements about it at how we learn how terrible it is and how horrible the Lost Children had it. We know how bad Skye and Akira have it as well. The duel action was great, and I love that Yusaku bounced Tindangle Hound and Angel from the graveyard.

Next time, no duel, might be the shortest chapter I write and there will be comfort.
