"Good morning darling! Time to wake up." Adam whispers nudging Kim trying to wake her from her deep sleep. "Hm." Kim moaned as she buried deeper into his side. "Kim? Do you want to go see the kids before work?" Adam asked watching her nod. "Okay well then we need to get moving. How about I go start the coffee while you wake up some more?" Adam whispered as he kissed her lips before getting up. He slipped on some fresh boxers before heading down to start their coffee. After the day before Kim was going to need coffee but he was thrilled she slept through the night.
When he returned with her coffee she was sitting up in the bed, her body not fully covered, stretching her arms over her head. "Well you look a bit more awake. I brought you some coffee." Adam sat next to her and gave her the cup. "Thank you for the coffee but more for yesterday. For trusting me, for believing me, for allowing me to heal myself. I truly feel free thanks to your support." Kim kissed Adam softly before snuggling up against him. He felt her kiss his chest but was surprised when it turned into a sucking action. She left a hickey on his chest. He looks down and laughed. "I can't believe you did that. Thank you for not leaving it exposed." Adam laughed as he held her. "I love you. Just a small love bite." Kim giggled moving her legs to wrap around him. "Kim we don't have time this morning." Adam moaned feeling Kim press her bare breasts against him. Kim headed in to the bathroom to brush her teeth and do her hair. After she got dressed before heading downstairs to get something quick to eat. Adam came down after her dressed and ready to leave. They got in the car and headed to see Allie and take her to school. As they pulled up to her moms house they both smiling, holding hands and relaxed. Kim knocked on the door before letting them in. "Hey mom! Where's my girl?" Kim asked walking further in. "Hey wasn't expecting you this morning. But I'm happy to see you, both of you. Allies in the bathroom getting ready." Kim's mom Rebecca stated. "Great I will go get her." Kim headed back towards the bathroom to get her daughter.
"Adam thank you!" Rebecca hugged him catching off guard. "Um you are welcome?" Adam shrugged. "Kim is unbelievably happy today! This has never happened. She looks well rested, relaxed, lite. I don't know what you did but it's amazing. I never thought she could be like that again." Rebecca explained shocked by how Kim was. "I didn't do much. Just supported her. Allowed her to confront the past. Take back her control. I'm extremely proud of her and how far she has come." Adam stared as he looked down the hall watching for them to return. "Hey sweetie." Kim says softly. "Mommy!" Allie yelled running into Kims arms. "Hi my girl. Are you ready for school? Adams going to drive us after we go see Riley." Kim explained. "Yes!" She jumped down and started to grab her stuff. Handing it to Kim before running towards Adam. "Adam!" Allie jumped into his arms hugging him tight. "Hey my Allie Cat! I missed you! Did you have fun with grandma?" He watched her nod. "I missed you too." She whispered as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Oh my sweet girl. You ready to see Riley before school?" Kim asked watching the scene in front of her. Allie nodded but didn't answer, she just held on tighter. "Baby are you okay? Feeling okay?" Kim asked her daughter. "I missed you both. And I miss daddy. Can Adam be my daddy too?" Allie asked as the adults gasped. "Baby you want a daddy everyday? Is that what you are saying?" Kim asked as Allie nodded. "Okay sweetheart. I want Adam to be your daddy too but I need to talk to your dad first. I don't want him to get upset if this happens without him knowing. So yes it will happen soon,I promise Okay?" Kim tried to explain. "Okay. I love you Adam!" Allie stated. "Well my sweet Allie Cat, I love you too!" Adam whispered as he kissed her cheek and snuggled her closer. "My family." Kim whispered as she hugged them both. "Let's go get our boy." Adam whispered as he hugged his little family.
The small family headed out and drove towards Adams dads house. Allie was sitting in the back signing along to the radio. Adam whispered to Kim to make a video of her signing and dancing in her seat. Kim made the video while Allie was unaware, it made for better entertainment. She would clam up if she knew she was being taped. They got Adams dads house and got out. Adam helped Allie to get out, holding her hand as they walked to the house. Adam let them in and closed the door before calling out. "Dad? Ry?" Adam hoped they weren't still asleep. As he didn't hear anything he headed towards the back yard and found them kicking a ball around. "Hey guys! Good morning buddy! Kimmie and Allie are here." Adam announced as he walked out. "Daddy!" Riley yelled as he run towards Adam as fast as he could. His tiny legs not moving very fast. "Hey buddy. Let's go see Kimmie okay. Hey pops thanks for watching him." Adam shook his hand before heading in with Riley in his arms.
"Kimmie!" Riley ran towards Kim and Allie. Getting lots of hugs. "How's she doing Adam?" Bob asked Adam from the back deck. "She's great! Amazing actually. I'm so proud of how she handled things yesterday. She's free, finally. She's fought all her demons now, the last ones conquered yesterday." Adam answered while watching Kim with the kids. "That's great! I'm happy to hear that!" Bob replied as they headed closer to Kim and the kids. "Buddy did you eat breakfast yet?" Adam asked his son who was dancing around with Allie. "No!" Riley yelled defiantly. "Well mister you have to eat your breakfast. And if you do I will pick you up after work and you can come over to play with us." Kim offered a compromise. "Okay Kimmie!" Riley left into the kitchen to get some food. Adam laughed watching his son obey orders after a simple offer. He had much to learn that was for sure.
"Compromises work well most of the time. So work with them so you can get him to eat right. Let's get some food in the kids and then we have to head out." Kim stated as she moved into the kitchen to help Bob fix some breakfast for Riley and Allie. "Sweetie you want some fruit while Riley eats breakfast?" Kim asked as she cut up fruit for Riley. Bob had offered Riley cereal and that's fine but it wasn't enough in Kim's mind. Fruit was always given with breakfast and lunch. She also made sure the kids got lots of vegetables. "Yes please!" Allie jumped up and down before going to the table to sit and eat. Adam helped Riley eat his cereal and fruit. They were surprised how much he actually like fruit, so they both stocked those fruits at all time.
Bob watched the family eating and just functioning as a family unit. "Okay we have to get going. Allie get your stuff and say your goodbyes." Kim stated as she helped her daughter down. "As for you mister man, thank you for eating your breakfast and I will pick you up after shift. Give me hug okay. I love you!" Kim bent down to hug him. "Bye Kimmie Love you too!" Riley hugged her back before hugging Allie and headed towards Adam. "Love you Ry. See you tonight." Adam picked him up and hugged him. "Love you daddy!" Riley hugged him back before running back to his grandfather. "Bye pops have a good day!" Adam called out as they left. Kim and Allie waved bye as they headed to the car.
As the dropped Allie off at school Allie had once again referred to Adam as daddy Adam. He waited for her to leave before ugly crying in the car with Kim. They drove to work in silence both overwhelmed by the morning. It was exciting but unexpected. They couldn't believe how it played out. "Hey I know this is all crazy but I'm so happy! This day has been amazing so far. So let get to work and then home to our amazing kids!" Kim says as they got out of the car. "I agree completely! I love you! Have a great day!" "Love you too"
They went separate ways as they entered the district. Kim needed to change into a uniform and Adam needed to get upstairs. "Ruzek! You alright? You look like you have been crying?" Kevin was absolutely concerned seeing his friend like this and worried about Kim as well. The team looked over to see his red puffy eyes. "Um yeah I did but I'm good. It's just been a really good couple of days and this morning was emotional. But good." Adam explained as he set his stuff down. "So we get yesterday was good based on the photo you sent but what happened this morning?" Erin asked concerned. "Nothing bad but my Allie Cat called me Daddy Adam today, twice and I cried." Adam shrugged as he sat down beaming with pride. "Well we are happy for you but good luck with daddy Eric. That's going to be a nightmare for you." Jay patted his shoulder before heading back to his desk.
Adam knew it was going to be an issue but right now he just going to live in the moment and enjoy this. He was happy to have his little family in his life. And would do anything to keep them. Adam knew how hard things can be growing up in a broken family where the parents can't even be in the same room together so he truly wanted to make this work for everyone. He wanted them to work together, to raise Allie together. He wanted holidays together, birthdays together. None of these separate holidays and birthdays. No heated hand offs, arguments over every little thing. He wanted the modern family unit, working together to be a family, raise a family.
The day went by with lots of drug raids. The team running all over the city chasing perps and suspects. They were exhausted by the end of day. The only thing that kept Adam going was all the photos he received of his family. Each one making him smile wide. The team noticed his smile and assumed it was Kim and the kids but they let it slide. It would be easy to rile him up over it but they just let him enjoy it. The drama the family had dealt with the past fews days would have killed most people but it made them stronger, their family unit stronger. "Can't wait get home darling! Love you and our kids!" Adam texted as he tried to finish up paperwork. "We love you too baby!" Kim replied as the kids played while she cooked dinner.
"Guys head out for the night! Paperwork can wait till tomorrow. It's been a long day so go enjoy your families." Voight stated as he exited office. The team cheered as they packed up for the night ready to leave. "Molly's anyone?" Antonio asked. Everyone replied yes except Adam. "Sorry guys. I want to get home to Kim and our kids. I haven't seen much of the kids for two days and I need my kid time. Next time though for sure." Adam headed down the stairs smiling. Levi got how it sounded to say our kids. As he got in the car he didn't notice he was being watched. And he definitely didn't notice he was being followed. He was set on seeing his family and that's all that mattered. He entered Kim's home laughing at the scene in front of him. Kim was dancing with the kids in the living room. The kids had no rhythm but they looked adorable so he taped it before letting them know he was home.
"Daddy!" Riley yelled as he ran towards him. "Daddy Adam!" Allie yelled running towards Adam. Adam bent down to pick them both up for a hug. "Hey kids! Glad to he home with you! Looks like you guys were having fun without me." Adam said as he hugged them before placing them back down. "Hey Darling! Looks like I interrupted all the fun." Adam gave her a kiss. "Well I need to finish dinner anyway so it's all good. How was work?" Kim asked as she headed back to the kitchen. "It was good. Really busy but it was a good day." Adam said as he placed his gun and badge in the safe. "Come on kids let's get ready for dinner." Adam took the the kids towards the powder room to wash there hands.
When the family returned they all sat down to eat dinner together. They were unaware that the person who followed Adam was still outside their home waiting and watching. After dinner the family curled up on the couch to watch a movie together. Both kids fell asleep before the end of the movie. Adam took both kids to bed as Kim cleaned up downstairs. Her phone was ringing and she ran to pick it up. It was Eric of course who missed Allies bed time again. It had happened more often lately and it was always the excuse of work. Kim only somewhat understood as she kept a lesser position to stay in her child's life more. So it bothered her that he wasn't around much or missed calls with his kid.
"Hey Eric! You missed bedtime again. She's already asleep." Kim sighed knowing they really needed to talk. "I'm sorry. I just got out of a meeting. I was hoping she was still awake. I've missed her." Eric said sadly. "Look after school we came home we had a dance party then ate dinner and watched a movie. She fell asleep during the movie. She needs her dad Eric. She was super clingy this morning, she said she wants a full time dad. She needs a father she can rely on. I know you love her and she loves you too. But she needs more, she wants more. Eric she asked if Adam could her dad too." Kim Explained as settled on to the couch again. "That's absolutely not happening! Kim she's my daughter! Not his! You can't take my daughter away from me! I will sue you Kim!" Eric yelled in the phone. "First off no you won't. Yes you have a stable job but you travel too much. And no one said taking her away from you! But having a step father isn't the worst thing on the planet. Adam and I both grew up with step parents, you know this. I just want everyone happy and our daughter needs a father Eric. And quite frankly you are never around. You see her Monday mornings and Friday nights. You rarely take her for a weekend let alone a week. And the weekends you do are normally spent here where I still take care of her. Step it up!" Kim yelled as she hung up the phone on Eric.
Adam had heard the entire conversation and stayed hidden to let her have some privacy. When he heard her hang up he slowly entered the room again. "I guess that didn't go well judging by the yelling. But I'm proud of you for sticking up for yourself and for your daughter." Adam said as he sat next to her. "Our daughter. No matter what he thinks we are a family. Would I prefer that we all got along sure but this is what our daughter wants so it's happening." Kim snuggled next to Adam as her phone rang again. "What?" Kim answered. "Really? Hanging up? That's childish." Eric snapped. "No what's childish is acting like Allie can't have more than one father. You always knew this would happen. It's like if you found someone else." Kim was over this already and she knew he would be difficult on purpose. "Kim she's my daughter. You can't dismiss me from her life." Eric tried to reason. "Eric once again we are not trying to dismiss you. She will always be your daughter. I just want our family to expand. No ones being cut out." Kim sighed.
"Look I'm over this conversation for the night. It has been a good couple of days and I'm not letting you ruin it. Feel free to discuss what a jerk I am with your family and maybe you will get some perspective on the situation. But for now, good night." Kim hung up before he could get another word in edgewise. She was over it. It went exactly how she assumed it would and she was done. Kim leaned her head on the back of the couch with her eyes closed trying to steady her breathing. "Come on! Upstairs we go!" Adam pulled her up from the couch. "Adam I'm not in the mood." Kim gave him a very definitive look. "Oh I know. But you're getting in the tub for a relaxing bath. No arguments over that. Now come on." Kim still didn't move so he threw her over his shoulder and move her to the bathroom.
He filled the tub just how she liked it before stripping her down and helping her in the tub. He knew she needed to calm her mind and his opinion wouldn't help and it wasn't asked for. So he simply went back out to the room after kissing her forehead. He retreated downstairs for a drink. They didn't normally drink in front of the kids but damn he needed it before he called Eric back to flip shit. That would make things worse for all involved and he didn't want to make things harder for Kim or Allie. He waited downstairs on the couch thinking about the current situation and how to try and make it better for Kim. He really wanted to make this family stronger. So he decided to try and talk to Eric the next night after he put Allie to bed. Hopefully this wouldn't be a week he would cancel. Adam hated watching Allies heart break and hated watching Kim try to fix it. It usually ended with Adam doing something special for Allie to make her smile again. That he didn't mind but the reason behind it did.
He stayed there till he heard Kim getting out of the tub. He slowly walked up the stairs not sure of the mood Kim would be in when he got there. He slowly entered the room and was surprised to see how relaxed she looked. "Hey Darling. You seem like you are doing better." Adam questioned as he walked closer towards her. "I am. Thank you for the bath. I appreciate it." Kim stated as she kissed his lips softly. "You smell like beer?" Kim asked cockeyed. "Well I was pissed off at Eric so I decided to have a beer to calm down. I never want to flip out in front of the kids or you so this was it. I know we don't normally in front of the kids but it was better than freaking out." Adam knew it wasn't wrong but they preferred not letting the kids see it. "It's fine I get it. Just surprised but I would have too to be honest. So relax and let's turn in." Kim suggested as she got a shirt to put on and some panties. Adam stripped down to his boxers before climbing in next to her.
Kim curled into Adams side resting her head on his chest. The sound of his heart beating relaxing her further. Kim felt his breathing evening out knowing her was close to being asleep. "Tell me what you are thinking. And don't say your night because I can see your mind swirling from here." Adam rubbed her back trying to comfort her. "I'm just so happy here. No matter what happened earlier I'm happy with you." Kim moved to lay on top of him, placing her hands on his chest to push herself up.
"Whatcha doing?" Adam asked confused since earlier she made it clear nothing was happening tonight and he was fine with that. "I just want to enjoy our time together. We can't allow other people to divide our fate and life. So I'm choosing to live in the moment with you." Kim smiled knowing she was still healing her life but was making big strides to move forward and take charge. "Well then that's what we will do. Our lives will not be dictated by others ever again." Adam let her take charge and do her own thing. He tried to lay still while Kim kissed all over his face. But when she bit his lower lip he couldn't help but reach up to grab her hips. He growled as she slid her tongue in his mouth.
