Hello everyone, here with a new chapter. It seems that the first chapter got quite an appreciation so let's keep the quality that way. I appreciate the supportive comments, and we'll gradually see the outcome of this story, which even as the writer, I'm curious about where it's going, as it's the first time I've written. It's like traveling to a destination without having a map or a guide on how to get there.

TDI. Chapter 2: Not so Happy Campers - Part 1

Finally, the moment has arrived. After checking himself in the mirror one last time to make sure he didn't have any imperfections on his face, Chris pushed the mirror aside when he saw the camera crew giving him the signal. In 3 ... 2 ... 1, let the show begin.

"Yo! Coming at you live from Camp Wawanakwa, somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario. I'm your host, Chris McLean" he paused for a moment to let everyone know who will be hosting the show. "Bringing you the hottest show right now!"

Chris walked along the dock with the camera following him. "Here's the deal, 22 campers have signed up to spend 8 weeks in this crappy old summer camp ..." He stopped at the sign "they'll compete in challenges and face the judgment of their fellow campers." Chris paused for a moment. "Every three days, a team will either win a challenge or see one of their fellow campers walk the Dock of Shame, take a ride on the Loser Boat, and never return."

(Campfire)

"Their fate will be decided here in our dramatic campfire elimination ceremonies, where all but one camper will receive a marshmallow" Chris grabbed one of the marshmallow sticks, took a bite, and threw the stick away. "In the end, only one will remain standing and will be rewarded with a small fortune." Chris mentioned as he pulled a chest filled with money out of nowhere and chuckled a bit. "Let's face it, they'll probably blow it all in a week".

(Dock of Shame)

"There are cameras all over the island ready to film any moment, anywhere, at anytime" cameras were shown on a totem, in the bushes, in squirrel dens, and many other places on the island. "Who will succumb to the pressure? Find out here, with me giving you a warm welcome to TOTAL … DRAMA ... ISLAND!"

(Opening - I Wanna Be Famous)

The initial tone played as the camera showed the camp's entrance and then advances into the island to show Chris arriving by helicopter, then continuing going farther, the view goes to the highest cliff on the island, being at this point that the lyrics are heard.

~Dear mom and dad I'm doing fine~

~You guys are on my mind~

We jump from the cliff to see Owen underwater who farts, what he doesn't know is that he unconsciously killed a fish that floated to the surface along with the fart.

~You ask me what I wanted to be,~

~And I think the answer is plain to see …~

Returning to the surface, we see Geoff and Bridgette looking at each other romantically while sitting on a surfboard, all of this being unaware of the dead fish that had just surfaced beside them. Shortly after, the fart reaches the surface leaving them in a nauseated stupor, shortly after, an eagle descends to snatch the fish and take it to the island's forest.

~I Wanna Be Famous~

Katie and Sadie sitting on a log are watching in amazement at how DJ is harmoniously interacting with the animals, that is until the dead fish fell in front of him causing said animals to attack DJ. He tried to escape with the two girls following to help him. Just a little further, Duncan was laughing at what he just saw, but he was surprised to see Courtney standing next to him, arms crossed, and giving him a disapproving look.

~I wanna live close to the sun~

Heather and Leshawna were seen fighting in a canoe without realizing they were dangerously close to a waterfall until it was too late.

~Well pack your bags 'cause I've already won~

Harold was 'perfecting' his martial arts skills standing on a log in front of the waterfall without noticing that Heather and Leshawna were falling behind him.

~Everything to prove nothing in my way~

~I'll get there one day~

Out of nowhere, Izzy swung in on a vine, tackling Harold and taking him along until they crashed into an outdoor bathroom, and taking out Lindsay who was about to use it. The camera then focused on the main hall.

~Cause I Wanna Be Famous.~

Inside the Main Hall Chef is laughing at Tyler, who has an ice pack on his black eye. The jock decided to sit next to Trent and Cody who were cheering for Naruto and Eva who were using the dining area as a ring for a wrestling match.

~Na na, na na na na, na na na na na, na na na na na~

The view shifted from the main mall to the beach, where Noah was reading a book and Gwen was drawing the beach landscape.

~Na na, na na na na, na na na na na, na na na na na~

Changing the view to the sea, a seagull was about to be eaten by a shark, but the shark stopped because it was mesmerized by Justin, who admired himself with a mirror in each hand.

~I Wanna Be~

The camera switched to Beth, who had a staff with both ends on fire and began twirling it in her hands, and then to throw it up to simulate a sun, a couple of seconds later it turned night with the staff going down alongside the image.

~Final whistle of the song~

The view lowered again, it showed Chris smiling and then winking at the camera holding a tray of marshmallows with both hands before zooming out to show all the campers and the show's name sign.

(Dock of Shame)

The cameraman signaled Chris, "Welcome back to Total Drama Island. Alright, it's time to meet the campers. We told them they'd be staying at a 5-star resort, so if they look a bit ticked off, that's probably why" the host said, chuckling under his breath.

As the first yacht arrived, a country girl was seen "Hello Beth" the girl is of short stature, with fair skin and brown hair tied in a ponytail, she wears rectangular glasses, has two moles on her neck, and has braces. She wore a green shirt with a swampy-green center, pink pants, and cream-colored sneakers.

The girl surprisingly embraced Chris with a squeal to the host's discomfort. "It's incredible to be here!" Then she blinked, realizing something. "Wow, you're even shorter in real life".

Chris could only raise an eyebrow to avoid giving her even a slap on the back of her head. Let's just say that his height iss a sensitive topic for him.

"Umm... thank you?" was the only thing Chris could only mutter until he noticed a Jamaican boy who was much taller than him. 'What do they feed these kids nowadays?' the host thought with astonishment and a hint of jealousy as he looked at the Jamaican boy.

"Yo Chris McLean, how are you man?" DJ high-fived Chris. The guy is tall and muscular, wearing a small white cap on his head. He has tan skin, brown hair, and a beard. He wore a green shirt with white trim and a 'D' on the chest, gray shorts, and sandals.

At this moment, the Jamaican looked around, confused. "Hey, are you sure this is the right place? Where's the Jacuzzi?" he asked, seeking confirmation from the host, only for him to indicate they are in the right place. "Hmm... this looked much different on the registration page," he muttered while carrying his luggage, and the camera switched to the next camper.

"Hello Gwen," the newly named Gwen is a slender goth girl with pale skin. She has black and blue hair, black eyes, and blue-painted lips. She wore a dark top with blue and green sleeves, a black and blue skirt, stockings, and black boots.

It was clear to say that the goth girl wasn't pleased with where they would be staying. "You mean we're staying here?"

Chris chuckled quietly "No, you'll be staying here. I'll be in my trailer with A.C., internet and streaming platforms".

"I didn't sign up for this" the girl grumbled.

Chris shows the teen the contracts she signed, "Actually, you did," he mentioned, Gwen only snatched them and ripped them up with a satisfied look. "You know what's great about lawyers? They make a lot of copies" Chris said, showing her a copy with a superior grin.

Gwen growled and grabbed her suitcases. "I'm not staying here."

"Well, I hope you can swim because your ride just left," Chris said, pointing to Gwen's departing yacht, which honked its horn almost as if it was mocking her.

"Jerk" was Gwen's last word before she reluctantly joined the others.

The next camper seemed to be a real party boy judging by his attire and the fact that he was dancing with loud music. When they reached the Dock of Shame, he unexpectedly flipped over a railing, stood on his hands, and then leaped to his feet on the dock, and thank the yacht for bringing him.

"Chris McLean, it's an honor to meet you, man" he said, fist-bumping the host.

"Geoff, welcome to the island, man" greeted Chris.

The now-introduced Geoff is a well-built guy with blond hair, blue eyes, and slightly tanned skin. He wears an unbuttoned pink shirt, blue shorts, and sandals. He also had a cowboy hat, a bracelet, and a necklace as accessories.

"Thanks man" the enthusiastic party-boy said.

"If they say 'man' one more time, I'm going to puke" Gwen said with a deadpan look, but it was time for the next camper to arrive.

"Attention, everyone, this is Lindsay," Chris announced, the camera shows Lindsay from bottom to top. It seemed like the cameraman was captivated by her looks, if Chris was honest, he only brought her to the island to get the attention from all those teenage boys with raging hormones.

Why is this, you ask? Well, the girl could be considered a model due to her curvaceous figure and ample 'assets' both in the front and back. Of medium height, she has fair skin, blue eyes, a small nose, and blonde hair. She wears a red tank top with a brown one just above it, a short orange skirt, and brown boots. As an accessory, she uses a blue headband to tie her hair.

"Hi, you seem so familiar," the blonde girl mentioned, making Chris smile.

"I'm Chris McLean," Lindsay just looked at him, confused. "... the host of the show?" he tried to remind her.

"Oh...then that's where I know you from" Lindsay finally remembered, taking her suitcases to join the others.

'I don't think that girl will last long,' Chris thought before the next camper arrived, and she doesn't seem very friendly, to say the least.

"Heather" greeted the host, the mentioned girl is tall with long black hair that reached her back. Her eyes are light black, almost gray, and she has fair skin. She wears a very short burgundy top, equally short hazelnut shorts with a black belt, and wedges. She also has sunglasses as an accessory.

She completely ignored the host and took off her glasses to inspect the place until Beth greeted her in a friendly manner. Heather already hated this place.

Suddenly, loud punk music started playing, and everyone turned to see the yacht bringing the next camper, another unfriendly face. "Duncan, buddy" the guy seemed ready to punch the smirking host due to the blatant lie about the program's location.

This tough guy is of average height, slim, has very short hair on the sides and back, but has a green mohawk, sky-blue eyes, and wears a black long-sleeved shirt with a skull on the chest, dark blue pants, and red and cream sneakers. He has a necklace and piercings in his ears and right eyebrow.

"I don't like surprises," the delinquent threatened, but Chris was not the least bit intimidated.

"Yeah, your parole officer warned me about it. He also mentioned that if you caused problems, you'd go back to juvie," Chris threatened with confidence, observing Duncan calming down.

"Fine," he grumbled and went with the others but smiled when he saw Heather, maybe being on the program wasn't so bad. "See you at the campfire gorgeous" he flirted, much to Heather's disgust.

"Eww, get lost creep" she said before walking along the dock pulling out her phone. "I'm calling my parents. They can't force me to stay here" she declared, unaware that a smirking Chris showed her signed contract proving she was legally obligated to participate in the program until her elimination, he really loved these things.

As the next yacht's horn sounded, the next contestant could be seen skiing. He is dressed like a jock. "Ladies and gentlemen, meet Tyler!" Chris presented the guy, Tyler is tall and muscular due to his dedication to sports. He has light skin, brown eyes, and brown hair. He wears a standard sports outfit, a simple white shirt, white sneakers, red pants, and a red sports jacket, he also wears a red headband as an accessory.

Upon hearing his name, Tyler raised his hand to greet the others, which was a bad idea as it caused him to lose control and crash into the other campers' luggage making the others grimace. Unfortunately, his luggage didn't fare any better as it flew further and landed in the sea, soaking Heather in the process.

"My shoes!" she exclaimed in annoyance.

Chris could only chuckle at what had just happened. "Nice wipeout dude!" he exclaimed as Tyler's hand emerged from the suitcases, giving a thumbs up, indicating that he was fine.

Chris chuckled a little more but didn't notice the next camper's arrival until he felt someone uncomfortably close behind him. He turned around to greet the camper awkwardly "Um... hello Harold" but the guy looked around first before locking eyes with him, starting to unnerve Chris, the host really hopes he isn't checking him out

The guy is tall but also quite thin. He has fair skin, a bit of stubble on his chin, and reddish-brown hair. He's wearing a blue shirt with green borders and an image of a burger on the chest over another long-sleeved salmon-colored shirt, green pants, and blue and cream sneakers. He wears green glasses.

After finishing whatever he was doing, he finally spoke, "... The location of this program is in a crappy camp and not on a big stage?" to which Chris confirmed "Yes! That's more favorable to my mad skills." After leaving a chill came down Chris's spine, but he had to continue with the program upon hearing the next yacht's arrival.

"The 10th contestant is Trent," the host introduced a guy with a guitar on his back, he is clearly a musician. He has slightly tanned fair skin, black hair, and green eyes. Trent wears a green t-shirt with camouflage sleeves and a handprint silhouette on the chest, black belt, black pants, and forest green sneakers.

'Would've preferred to be number nine' the guy thought before greeting the host, "Hey, nice to meet you man. I saw you in that ice-skating competition, good job."

"Thanks man, I knew I'd dominate that show," Chris replied, and Trent looked around at the other campers and the place, just to end up concerned.

"Is this all there is?" the musician couldn't help but ask, and Chris nodded. "Well, all right," Trent said, heading to join the others.

The next camper to arrive caught the attention of more than one due to the curious lines on his cheeks and goggles on his head, along with his blonde hair and slightly slanted eyes. "Naruto, welcome to the camp dude," Chris greeted Naruto who didn't seem too happy about where he would be staying.

"So, we're staying at this crappy camp?" he asked, prompting Chris to nod, "You do know we can sue you for false advertising right?"

Chris then raised the signed contract "You kids should learn to read. It says here that if the original facilities aren't available, a substitute location will be used." This revelation surprised all the campers,Chris really loved the fine print.

Unable to say more, Naruto walked over to the others and noticed Heather, still somewhat wet. "Hey, what happened to you to end up like that?" he asked concerned, but she growled at him.

"Mind your own business, cosplay boy" she snarled, indignating the guy.

"Hey, I'm not using cosplay!" he exclaimed with everyone giving him a surprised look, including Chris.

"You don't?" Duncan had to admit he was taken aback by that.

"So, what are those lines on your cheeks, and is your hair dyed? I don't mean to offend you, but..." Beth couldn't help but ask, to which Naruto nodded, understanding.

"They're my birthmarks, and my hair is natural," he said somewhat tired. People always asked him about his cheek lines, but his hair was a new one. What kind of image did they have of him? His thoughts were interrupted when the next camper arrived.

"Everyone, meet our surfer girl, Bridgette!" the girl is of average height, with tan skin, long blonde hair tied in a low ponytail, and dark green eyes. She wears a light blue hooded sweatshirt, gray shorts, and brown sandals.

Duncan snorted upon seeing her and her surfboard. "Nice board, but this ain't Malibu, honey."

"I thought we'd be at a beach," she couldn't help but question Chris.

"We are" was all he said, showing the almost non-existent waves on the main beach.

"Great," she said sarcastically, taking her suitcase and going with the others, not realizing that she had just hit Chris with her board in the process.

"Ow, darn, that hurts" Chris just hoped it wouldn't leave a mark. His image was at stake.

Geoff appeared behind her, excitedly greeting her, "Hey, I'm Geoff." Bridgette turned around to greet him, unaware of some campers who ducked to avoid getting hit by her board.

"Hey, watch the board" Harold complained.

"I love the board, nice color" orange has always been Naruto's favorite color; he didn't know why, he just liked it.

"Thanks, curious lines on your cheeks, are they tattoos?" Bridgette nearly hit someone turning around again.

Naruto was about to respond but got interrupted. "Well, we've all met the surfer girl, can we continue with the show?" Heather seemed quite impatient.

"You sure are the soul of the party, aren't you?" for some reason, Naruto felt that living with her will be a headache.

"Shut it" was Heather's response as she walked back to Chris, who was still nursing the bump from the board.

"Our ... oh ... next camper is Noah," the host announced, introducing a guy slightly shorter with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tanned skin and wears a red vest over a blue short-sleeved shirt, which was over a long-sleeved white shirt. He had dark green pants and brown, black, and orange shoes.

"Did you get my list of all my allergies?" the guy asked, not really caring about the others.

"I'm sure someone did," Chris did receive it three days before the program but ended up losing it, and he didn't really bothered looking for it.

"Fantastic, is this where we're staying?" the guy asked, looking at the facilities, obviously realizing that he was scammed.

"It's not your mother's house, and we're throwing a party," Duncan palmed his fist; it seemed like he found an easy target.

"That's nice, nice piercings, did you do them yourself?" Duncan pulled a piercing from the guy's lips.

"Yeah, want one?" but it seemed the bookworm wasn't fazed.

"No thanks, could you please let go of my lips?" Duncan did release him, not really finding it fun to deal with this guy. "Thanks."

"What's up people! Leshawna's in the house!" It seemed this camper was a bit noisy but quite friendly, and the others didn't notice how Harold silently gasped upon seeing her.

This curious girl is a bit short, with tan skin, black eyes and long black hair that she tied in a ponytail. She also has a mole on her right cheek. She wears a short-sleeved cream shirt with orange drawings on the chest, dark blue shorts, and brown sandals, and she has large circular earrings.

"Hey honey, how's it going?" High-fiving Chris, she walked past the other campers. "Y'all should quit while there's still time; it'll save you a whole lot of trouble," she said with a playful wink, making some campers roll their eyes.

"Gimme some sugar brother." Now high-fiving DJ, she left her suitcases with the others, not noticing Harold appearing behind her.

"I've never met someone like you," he admitted, amazed by what he saw.

"Excuse me," Leshawna wanted some clarification.

"Someone so big, and loud" he mentioned, not considering how his words sounded.

"How did you call me stringbean?! Oh, no, no, no, come here!" Great, it seems this girl also has a short fuse. Bridgette and DJ had to stop her to prevent the situation from escalating further.

Naruto grabbed Harold by the shoulder and whispered in his ear, "Dude, it may not have been intentional, but watch your words, or you'll end up six feet underground sooner than expected." The nerd could only nod in response to what the Japanese boy said.

'Great, the drama has already started, and they're not even in the first challenge'. "Calm down, everyone, save it for later!" Chris could already smell the money. Leshawna had to comply but still shot Harold a glare which made him nervous.

Chris turned to welcome the next two campers, both dressed in identical outfits. "Katie, Sadie, welcome to your new home for the next eight weeks." That's right, these two were wearing the same clothes. Both have short black hair tied into two ponytails, black eyes, and lips painted pink. They also wear matching outfits with short white tops with horizontal black stripes, pink shorts, and pink platform sandals.

As for their physical appearance, Katie was quite tall, slender, and had tanned skin, while Sadie was slightly shorter, had fair skin, and a fuller figure.

"Oh my gosh, we're at a camp!" Katie exclaimed excitedly.

"I've always wanted to go to a camp!" Sadie chimed in.

"Eeeeeeee!" Their high-pitched squeal made more than one person cover their ears.

"They sure are loud" everyone agreed with Gwen who was already considering swimming back home.

Back with Chris, he gave a high-five to the newly arrived camper. "Cody, the Code-ster, welcome buddy."

Cody is a bit short and slender, with blue eyes, brown hair, and fair skin. He wears a cream-colored shirt with stripes, one red and one green, on top of a gray shirt. His pants were almost green-blue, and his sneakers were green and cream.

"Nice to be here, dude ..." Cody glanced at the other campers and casually strolled over to them, with a demeanor reminiscent of stereotypical movie heartthrobs. "Speaking of nice things, it seems that the ladies have arrived." Some of the guys had to suppress their laughter at his flirtatious attempt, while the girls rolled their eyes with either amusement or annoyance.

Another yacht arrived, and with it, a new camper. She has an unfriendly look on her face, an average height, and a pretty muscular build. This girl has fair skin with a mole next to her lips, hazel eyes, and black hair tied into a ponytail. She wears a dark blue sports set consisting of a sleeveless shirt and shorts, white ankle socks, and black sneakers.

"Eva, nice to see you here" without responding to the host, she headed over to where the others were. Cody tried to give her a high-five, but she let her heavy suitcase fall directly at his feet.

"Ow! What's in there? Dumbbells?" The geek thought his foot was about to break.

"Yes," it seemed she is of few words.

Duncan turned to DJ "She's all yours, buddy." Eva noticed someone lifting her suitcase, turned, and saw Naruto, who, although he could carry it, but had to do a lot of effort doing so.

"Dang, this is heavy" he remarked before eventually letting go of the suitcase.

"Impressive, not many people could lift what I can." Eva didn't give compliments often, but when she did, she meant it.

"Strength isn't my forte, I specialize more in agility and speed. Maybe we could trade some training tips later?" Naruto had been practicing martial arts since he was young, and his main style had been learned from his perverted but skilled godfather. Despite his good physical condition, he had to give credit to this girl. It wouldn't be easy to beat her in this competition. Eva simply nodded in appretiation, and respect of finding a fellow dedicated athlete and turned to the next arriving yacht.

Chris couldn't be happier, three athletes were now part of the program. It seemed one team would start at a disadvantage in this competition. He just laughed quietly to himself and prepared to welcome the next camper "WOOO-HOOOOO!" Everyone jumped in surprise at the scream.

"Owen, welcome!" This guy was really enthusiastic. Owen is quite tall but, quite heavy, with fair skin, blond hair, and black eyes. He wears a white shirt with the number zero on the back and a maple leaf on the chest, both in blue, yellowish-green shorts, and pale green and white sneakers.

Owen gave the host a bear crushing hug that almost made his spine crack. "IT'S AMAZING TO BE HERE, DUDE!" The guy squeezed even harder, making Chris struggle to breathe. Dude needed to learn to control his strength.

"THIS IS SO... so...!" Owen struggled to find the right words, loosening his hug to Chris' relief.

"Awesome?" Gwen tried to help Owen find the word, giving her first smile since she'd arrived.

"YES, AWESOME, WOO-HOO!" Owen squeezed Chris again, leaving the host breathless.

"I think you should put him down, buddy," DJ recommended to the big guy when he noticed Chris's face turning blue.

"Huh?" Owen realized what he was doing and released Chris, who was panting heavily. He thought for a moment that he saw his grandfather.

"I'm sorry dude, I'm just so excited" Chris gave him a glare and turned to greet the next camper.

"Courtney," he extended a hand to help her, for which she thanked him. Courtney then looked at everyone who had arrived.

"Hello, you must be the other campers. Nice to meet you all." Courtney has tan skin with freckles on the bridge of her nose, black eyes, and short brown hair. She is dressed in a dark gray sweater over a cream-colored shirt, green pants, and black platform sandals.

"Hello, I'm Owen" the guy wasted no time taking her hand and giving it a firm shake. She was a friendly-looking girl.

"It's nice to meet you O ... wow ..." Courtney couldn't finish her greeting because she, along with the other girls, and Owen, were now staring at a guy who was probably the most attractive man they had ever seen in their lives. He is tall, muscular, and has tan skin, with blue eyes and black hair. He wears a dark green t-shirt, jeans, and sandals that matched his shirt.

Once he reached the Dock of Shame, Chris introduced him, "This is Justin." To most of the guys, his arrival was meh, but Owen and the girls nodded dumbfounded.

"Just to let you know, we chose you solely on your looks," Justin shrugged, showing he was used to it.

"I can live with that." with that he walked to where the others were.

"Hi, I like your pants," Owen pointed to Justin's jeans.

"Thanks," what could Justin say? He loved compliments.

"Because they look so worn out, did you buy them like that?" Okay, what was this guy getting at? "Umm... no, I've just worn them for a while."

"Great..." Owen then slapped his own forehead. "Stupid."

"Hey, it's Izzy," the last girl to arrive seems somewhat hyperactive in the way she greets. But she shouldn't get too close to the - forget it; it seems she tripped and hit her face on the Dock of Shame.

"Ouch, that hurt" Tyler laughed quietly.

"Guys, this is serious, she could have been seriously injured" Courtney mentioned to help Izzy get out of the water. She was ready to call the island's paramedics, if Chris bothered to hire them in the first place.

"That felt so... good! Well, except for the hit, but it wasn't as bad as the fight with that bear" more than one raised their eyebrows due to this girl's … eccentric personality. "Oh, a camp! Do you have mache paper and something to eat?"

Well, the last girl to arrive is slightly tall with slightly bronzed skin, green eyes, and is a redhead, though her hair color is more like orange. She's wearing a military green top, a slightly lighter green skirt in the same two green shades.

"That's a great idea!" Owen was already ready to eat whatever.

"We'll go step by step. First, we need a group photo for a promo, so everyone come to this side of the dock," everyone followed the instructions as Chris boarded the yacht from which Izzy had arrived to have a better position for the camera.

With everyone in position, Chris took out his cellphone and set it to video mode without the others knowing, he would take a screenshot later. "Alright, campers, here we go. One, two... whoops, memory full. Now, keep that pose for a bit, and... whoops, looks like the screen froze."

"Come on, my face is freezing" Leshawna rolled her eyes, this host should have been already prepared for this.

"Sorry, but we're all good now. Say 'Wawanakwa'!" indicated the host.

"WAWAN-AHHH!" They couldn't finish because the dock couldn't handle so much weight, breaking and sending all the campers into the water. "The photo came out well, guys. Go dry off and meet me at the campfire in 10."

(Campfire)

"This is Camp Wawanakwa, your home for the next eight weeks," Chris was clarifying some of the campers' doubts and explaining how things are going to be. "The campers sitting next to you will be cabin mates, rivals, and maybe even friends." The teenagers looked at each other.

"Excuse me" Duncan smiled. "How will the sleeping arrangements work? I'd like my bunk to be below hers" he thumbs at Heather, it seems this guy is not afraid of success.

Heather just looks at him with disgust, the delinquent is not her type at all. "The bedrooms aren't co-ed, right?"

"No, one side of the cabin will be exclusively for the girls, and the other for the boys," Chris said. With the current generation, he wasn't entirely sure that could happen.

"And that brings me to another point, pants up and covered skirts campers. Anyone caught doing way too high temperature activities will be disqualified and kicked out of the island without any discussion" Chris was dead serious when he mentioned this, he didn't want to end up in jail for creating and providing that kind of videos.

Several blushes came for that one. You didn't have to be a genius to figure out what the host was talking about, and they had to admit, getting caught on national television doing that was a death sentence for their social lives. Besides, none of them wanted to lose their virginity on this crappy island. They could only nod in silence, avoiding eye contact with each other in an awkward silence.

"All right" he signaled to an intern with a box who understood. "As you know, the rules prohibit communication with the outside world, so you'll need to leave your cell phones in this box".

One by one, they handed over their cell phones, some without a problem, while others felt a bit anxious. The latter group clearly wasn't used to being without their phones.

"Very well, now that everything is clear, I'm going to announce the teams, and then we'll find your cabins," the host began to mention the first team but was interrupted.

"Excuse me, Kyle, can I have my own cabin with a view of the lake because I'm pretty?" Lindsay asked as if it were the most normal thing in the world earning incredulous looks from everyone.

'I swear, kids are getting more spoiled with each passing generation' thought the host with a slightly annoyed look.

"Well ... things don't work that way ... and my name is Chris," Lindsay just nodded at what was said.

"Great" Gwen said sarcastically, she wasn't very excited about sharing a room with other girls, but her thoughts were interrupted by Owen, who caught her in a suffocating hug with Tyler.

"Come on, guys, it'll be like a big sleepover" the oaf said.

"At ... least you don't have to share ... a room with him" Tyler said as best he could, as the view shifted to Duncan having a deer in a headlock while grinding his fist on the head.

"All right, now that there are no more questions, I'm going to name the teams. Those campers who hear their names, stand to my right," Chris indicated, grabbing everyone's attention.

"Gwen, Heather, Trent, Harold, Naruto, Leshawna, Beth, Lindsay, Owen, Sadie, and Noah," the two best friends gasped in horror at not being on the same team.

"But what about Katie?" Sadie asked, only to be ignored by Chris, who took a green flag and threw it to Owen, who caught it and unfurled it.

"All right, you will officially be known as the Screaming Gophers!" Everyone on the team deadpanned at the host. What kind of name was that? "Great, I'm a gopher!" Well, everyone except Owen.

"Now, Duncan, Tyler, Bridgette, Geoff, Courtney, Eva, Cody, Justin, DJ, Katie, and Izzy, all of you to my left," Chris took a red flag and threw it to Geoff, who also unfurled it. "From now on, you will be known as the Killer Bass!", yeah, it seems that the names aren't the best ones.

"But Sadie's a gopher, I have to be a gopher!" Katie cried out.

"Katie, right? Everything will be fine, come on," Courtney escorted Katie to her group.

"But it's so unfair, I miss you, Sadie!" Katie cried.

"I miss you too, Katie!" Sadie followed her sister in all but blood much to the embarrassment of the others.

'Correction, kids these days are beyond help, and I don't even want to imagine the ones who are coming,' Chris thought, pinching his nose for what he had just seen. It hadn't crossed their minds that something like this could happen?

But once he regained his professionalism, he continued "All right, campers, you and your team will be on camera 24/7 in all public areas during this competition..."

(Confession)

"You'll also be able to share your most intimate thoughts when you want here" Chris smiled at the camera in an outdoor bathroom. "Let the folks at home know what you really think, or just get something out your chest"

*Static*

"Umm... alright," Gwen put on an expressionless face. "So far everything sucks."

*Static*

"I don't understand, where's the camera guy?" Lindsay stood in front of the camera, showing her butt without knowing.

*Static*

Somehow, there's a duck putting on lipstick, but it blinks when it realizes it's on camera.

*Static*

"Alright, I have something very important to say," Owen said with a serious face, only to let out a fart and then burst into laughter.

*Static*

"Darn it, the hell happened here?" It seems Naruto had the misfortune of entering after Owen. "Well, things didn't go as planned, but at least I'll do my best to... ugh." It seems he reached his limit upon smelling the fart.

(Bonfire)

"All right, now let's move on to show you your cabins," Chris said, and the camera changed to two really old cabins. "The Gophers will be in the East cabin, and Bass, you'll take the one in the West."

(Cabins)

It couldn't be said that they were expecting much from the facilities. Both cabins had two rooms with three bunk beds each, enough space to accommodate 12 people without any problems.

"At least we won't have to worry about leaks," Naruto said as he looked at the ceiling. "I take the top." He just wanted to unpack and explore the camp a bit.

"Can I bunk with you?" Naruto nodded without any problems at Harold's question, and the nerd smiled before arranging his luggage.

Noah didn't say anything and just settled into the top of another bunk to read a book, while Owen took the bottom, and Trent took the remaining one.

Everything was quiet until a thud was heard. Naruto went out to see what happened and found Cody on the floor. "Um... what happened?" He turned at the sound of a laugh only to see Duncan with an amused look.

"The geek tried to flirt with the girls on your team, and you're seeing the result." Now Duncan wondered what else was in store on this island.

Naruto had a grin on his face upon hearing that while helping Cody up. "I don't think that was a great idea, dude" he remarked as the geek removed the dirt from his face, still sporting his flirty smile.

"Just give them time dude, sooner or later they'll fall for the Code-ster" the Japanese guy and the delinquent rolled their eyes at those words.

On the other hand, Geoff called Chris from his cabin to ask him something. "Excuse me, Chris, isn't there a chaperone of any kind or something?" Chris shrugged upon hearing this.

"All of you are between 16 to 18 years old, old enough to be counselors at a summer camp, so apart from me, you won't be supervised" at least the host hoped he wouldn't need to hire someone to supervise them.

"Unless you count the cameras as supervisors," Courtney whispered to Bridgette, who agreed.

"You have half an hour to unpack and meet me in the main hall, starting now," with his announcement made, the host left to finish the final details of the first challenge.

"Great," Geoff couldn't help but get excited knowing they wouldn't have supervision. It didn't take long after Chris left for a loud scream from Lindsay to sound, making everyone look inside the Gophers' cabin to see the girl standing on a chair, giving a terrified look to a cockroach on the floor.

"Man, that girl can scream," Leshawna remarked. This time, the cockroach moved toward DJ, causing the Jamaican to let out a girlish scream and jump onto one of the beds, breaking it.

"That was my bed," Gwen said with an emotionless face. Seriously, the universe must hate her right now.

The rest of the campers tried to either kill the cockroach or simply move away, disgusted or scared. It didn't take long for Duncan to end it by cutting it in half with an ax.

"Dude, that was brutal" Naruto whistled in amazement, "...but where did you get the axe?" he asked, only for the delinquent to run his fingers over his lips as if closing a zipper.

"You know, if something like that happens again, just call me, and I'll take care of it" on the other hand, Tyler tried to comfort Lindsay successfully, judging by the thankful look on the girl's face.

"They always go for the jocks," Duncan said, rolling his eyes.

(Main Hall)

"Listen up, everyone, I'll cook three times a day, and you'll eat three times a day!" Chris had previously introduced them to Chef Hatchet, and it's fair to say that some were intimidated.

"Ex-cu-cu-cuse me, are we going to have all the three major food groups?" Beth stammered as she watched Chef catch a fly without looking and then released it into the pot.

Agreeing with the girl, Harold also expressed his opinion, "Yes, because I get hypoglycemia if I don't eat enough sugar."

"Yes, you'll get plenty of shut the fuck up!" Chef roared, causing Harold to run to his seat.

"Have a cow" Owen whispered to Noah, getting a few chuckles from the bookworm, but Owen got scared when he got caught.

"What did you say?! Come here, fatty, I don't think I heard you right," it wasn't such a great idea to irritate him further.

Owen just swallowed some saliva. "Um... I didn't say anything."

"Are you sure?" the oaf only took his plate and left with Noah following his example, but he was stopped. "Hey, scrawny, give me your dish, you need to eat more" Chef said, giving him another spoon full of... meat? It jumped back into the spoon but a growl from the cook made it fall back into the plate.

'How can food have a mind of its own?' Noah wondered with disbelief. For a moment, he swore that the food growled at him.

"Okay, I don't want to complain on the first day, but I think my food moved," Gwen stared at her plate for a moment until Chef smashed it with a meat mallet. "Thank you" with that Gwen went away with an akward look on her face.

Naruto continued with a calm look as he watched Chef give him his dish. "Thanks, Chef."

(Confessional)

"Finally, someone with respect," Chef crossed his arms. "Do you know how hard it is to find a kid not made out of glass who eats what they're given without complaining?"

(Main Hall)

All the campers were looking at their dishes with doubt, not knowing what to do. However, Naruto simply resigned himself and, to his team's curiosity, clasped his hands together. Is he religious?

"Itadakimasu" he said before taking his first bite, and quickly got disgusted, but he managed to swallow.

"What did he say?" Trent couldn't help but blink in confusion as he took a bite of his burger, which he ended up spitting out with a green face.

"It's Japanese, it means 'thanks for the meal'" Noah responded, looking away from his burger to answer his teammate.

"Are you Japanese?" Gwen had to give her burger to Owen, who was already on his fifth, wondering how the heck could he could eat them so easily.

"Yeah" Naruto said, noting the curiosity of his team. "I was born and raised in Japan until I moved here with my parents four years ago. I have to say the culture change was tough, but everything's okay now".

"Do you miss your favorite fictional idol?" Heather taunted, earning a tic in Naruto's eye.

"I don't know; have you found something to cover up with, exhibitionist?" Now it was Heather's turn to be angry.

"What did you call me Moron?!" the queen bee roared, drawing the attention of the Killer Bass.

"What you heard, you Dweeb!" Naruto didn't back down. The situation had escalated quickly, but luckily the host arrived.

"Whoa, whoa, campers, calm down." Although Chris wanted to see them fight, he had to save that drama for later.

"Hey, dude, can't we order pizza?" Geoff was answered with a butcher knife that passed slightly above his hat, ending up stuck above Chris' head.

"WHOAAAA! Alright, the mystery meat burger is exquisite, my congratulations to the chef," Chef grumbled, making most of them nervous.

Chris just laughed under his breath. "Your first challenge begins in an hour," he said before leaving.

"What do you think they'll make us do?" Katie asked DJ nervously, to which the Jamaican put a hand on her shoulder to comfort her.

"Don't worry, it's our first challenge. How hard can it be?" Maybe the challenge will be relaxing and fun.

(Cliff)

You can see all the campers in their swimsuits at the edge of the island's highest cliff.

"OH SHIT!" Although the word was censored by the editor, Chris preferred it uncensored, but nooo, the producers wanted this show to be family-friendly.

Well, folks, we officially start the first season, the beginning of everything. Obviously, as the season progresses, the butterfly effect will take effect to the point that everything will change, such as the elimination order and original challenges on my part, as I don't have the slightest idea of what to do, but something will come to me. I have time.

Also, I'm I the only one who feels nostalgia every time when hearing the show's opening? That and, what do you think of my version of the opening now that Naruto is around?

For now, I say bye to you.

I'll be reading the reviews, accepting constructive criticism and interesting ideas.

Until next time.
