Chapter 6

Olivia opened the door. "Mommy!" Riley left Kurt's arms and ran to Olivia. "I missed you! Did you bring me something back?" She gave her an airplane and Riley flew it around in the air. "When can I go on an airplane? What did you bring Noah?" Amanda passed her a stuffed airplane.

Olivia put her bags down. "Hey Luce! I brought you me." Lucy hugged her tight. Olivia hugged her back. She knew there was more to her story. "Hey, it's going to be okay." Kurt pointed in the kitchen and said he ordered pizza at Riley's request. While they ate they updated Kurt.

Lucy was terrified. "My neighbor. The pimp. His name is Arthur Jones, but everyone calls him Timmer. I can't get Nina to call me. Olivia looked at Amanda. They had Arthur Jones in custody. Lucy had the missing pieces. They needed her to talk. Olivia finally pushed asking about her mother and her boyfriend. "His name is Johnny Drake. He's scary."

Olivia couldn't leave the kids. Amanda peeked in the door after putting Riley and Noah to sleep. Olivia was on the phone with Fin. She pointed to the couch and Amanda covered Lucy with a blanket. After Olivia hung up, Amanda sat next to her. "She's out cold. What did Fin say?"

Olivia rubbed her tired eyes. "He's looking up names. Nick and Carisi are helping." Amanda jumped up claiming she needed to help. Olivia pulled her back down. "No! I want you with me." Amanda was shocked. "Lay with me." They were both tired and fell asleep quickly.

Olivia turned over hearing her phone. It was Fin, he was on the way. Olivia knew it wasn't good if he couldn't call. She sat up and stared at Amanda. Her blonde hair was slightly covering her face. She smiled and was sad to wake her. "Hey, wake up." Amanda squirmed and opened those blue eyes. Olivia was upset she had to make her sad. "Fin is on the way." Olivia didn't have to say it, Amanda's eyes explained she understood.

They didn't wake Lucy. They sat across from him. Fin slid them a file. They flipped through as he spoke. "Johnny D is the head. We got Timmer to talk after someone attempted to kill him. Selena is dead. Lucy's mom and Nina are dead." Fin explained they had him in custody, but the damage was done.

Amanda had been through things in her life but seeing Lucy holding Olivia and crying was one of the toughest. Amanda saw Riley walk out confused and rubbing her face. Amanda grabbed her immediately. "Manda, why is Lucy crying?" Amanda didn't know what to say, she just sat and joined them. She explained Lucy needed a family.

Olivia sat with Lucy, her head was in her lap as she stroked her dark hair. Amanda walked in with Noah in her arms and Riley by her side. Riley tiptoed inside, she had been so good and helpful. "Mommy, I can rub her hair. Olivia kissed her and let her take over.

The funerals were over and done and Johnny Drake was in jail. Amanda gave her some tea while she cooked dinner. "You're who she needs. She will heal from this. She's young and will bounce back." Olivia wasn't sure. Lucy was 19 and should have been in college, but her mother's mistakes had caused her problems. She had nothing but them. She didn't dare bring up those mistakes. "What are you thinking?"

Olivia sighed, "How can I make it normal for her?" Olivia had an idea. "Will you adopt her with me? Give her some sense of family." Olivia waited and Amanda quickly agreed. During dinner they asked. Olivia was worried it was all too soon. "I would never take her place. I just want you to know you have a home and family here." Lucy hugged them both and cried happy tears for once.

Her adoption was easy, she was technically an adult. It did however make things easy as far as insurance. "Luce, have you looked at schools yet? I want you ready by the fall." Lucy was definitely a teenager. "Amanda and I got this for you to speed things along." She screamed while opening her new Mac.

Olivia picked up Riley because she was looking so sad. She answered the door and explained it was like Lucy's birthday. "Aunt Melinda!" Olivia was shocked to see not only her at her home, but Barba. Lucy picked up on the tension and invited Riley to her room to play with the new toy.

Olivia and Amanda sat down after she requested to speak to both of them. "After looking at the woman who died and were connected with Johnny D." She looked up, "Noah is Johnny D's father." Olivia immediately looked to Barba now understanding his purpose. "No one has to know."

Olivia stood up pacing as Lucy ducked out of sight but was still listening. "I don't want that. Not for Noah, or us." She meant it and although strong feelings were involved she kept a level head. "If it comes out later in the trial, it will be obvious we covered it up. You don't think it's going to come up. I killed his network and took his baby." Lucy gripped the wall. "What else is wrong? You asked to speak to us both."

Melinda had a friend contact her from social services. She thought she would be a good contact. "Amanda, the young girl, Kim. She's your sister." Amanda explained she swabbed herself to get Kim to take the swab. "Yeah well busy hospitals, I ran them. You're siblings, both parents. Amanda told her story. She left her parents long ago and had no clue about a sister.

Melinda and Barba left, leaving the two standing in shock. "Liv, we didn't sign up for this. What do we do?" Amanda ran crying to the room. Olivia ran behind her. Kim was in the hospital and told the truth. She was waiting on them to come and see her.

Lucy just dipped in the room. She had to go. "Ri, listen I have to go do something." Riley saw her packing a book bag. When the questions flowed she tried to keep her quiet. "Hey, you can play games on that until I get back." Riley's eyes lit up since her iPad was confiscated. Lucy looked down the hall and left again.

Olivia had to calm Amanda down. "Hey, look at me." Olivia's hands caressed her neck. Amanda hadn't felt love ever. All the men were just sex, but Olivia's hands and eyes showed care. "We can do it together. There's enough room for everyone. There's enough love for everyone." Olivia kissed her lips and to her surprise, Amanda's body accepted it by falling gracefully into her arms. "Let's tell the kids."

They gathered themselves and went to the room. They stopped and picked up Noah. Riley was on the bed kicking her legs and playing on the computer. "Riley, where's Luce we need to talk to you." Riley waved her off saying she left. Olivia reached and grabbed her phone. "Damn that girl."

Riley jumped, "Ohhhh mommy, that's a spoon word." Olivia shook her head as Amanda rubbed her back. Olivia immediately calmed at her touch. Olivia saw where she was and went to get her. It was easy getting Riley off of the computer with a promise of ice cream before dinner. "Yay!"

They all arrived at the diner and saw Lucy in the booth. "Slide over!" Lucy looked up at a very upset Olivia and Amanda. Lucy watched as Olivia gave the food order for Riley and Noah. Then when she gave Riley her iPad and headphones, she knew what was coming. "What were you thinking and what did I tell you?"

Amanda saw her chance good cop, bad cop. This was her chance to save Lucy's ass and bond with her. "Luce, why did you leave?" She took her eyes off of Olivia and looked at Amanda. "I heard you talking and I figured you two should focus on the kids." She looked at Olivia fuming still. "You're our kid, we signed the papers, remember. We aren't putting up with this. Olivia promised you something and if you ever run again without letting us be the parents that's your ass. I will turn her loose. Are we clear?"

After some ice cream and some hugs they all headed to the hospital to meet Kim. Lucy was apprehensive of Olivia. "Hey, where's my hug." Lucy hugged Olivia. "Luce, there's enough room for you and enough love. I promise." They hugged each other tightly.

They walked into the hospital room. Lucy held get well balloons and Riley had a bear holding a heart. Olivia and Amanda held each other's hands. "Hi! I'm Riley and I know Aunt Manda is your real sister, but now you have 2 me and Lucy and a brother, Noah, but he's little." They were scared but they forgot they had the perfect ice breaker.

Amanda looked at Kim. They shared so many similar features. The hair, the eyes, the body shape. "Kim, I wish I knew. I'm so sorry I didn't." Kim knew it wasn't Amanda's fault. She knew her sister went through her own trauma at some point. Olivia joined them and they all sat on the bed. They brought her food from the diner and sat with her.

Amanda and Olivia talked to the doctor and CPS worker. They looked at the girls talking. Noah was in heaven with all of the attention. "She can be released, but therapy is probably a good suggestion." Amanda laughed under her breath. Olivia knew how she felt about therapy. The CPS worker needed 24 hours to get a judge to sign the custody papers. "Ok, I'll release her then. That will give us a chance to do a thorough physical and make sure shots are up to date for school."

They walked in and Kim was yawning. Noah was out cold in Lucy's arms. Riley was lying next to Kim. Olivia explained they wanted to keep her another day. "Amanda is going to stay with you and we will see you tomorrow." Amanda rolled her eyes at Olivia making the rules. Olivia noticed everything.

The next night was different. Amanda moved in with Olivia to give Kim her own room. They had dinner and got everyone settled for the night. Olivia noticed how restless Amanda had been. "Come here and talk to me." Olivia held Amanda firmly in her grip. "What's wrong?"

Amanda shrugged like nothing. "You've been upset ever since the therapy comment and I know how you feel. I saw your face when I told Kim her counselor would see her at school."

Amanda pushed against her, "Fuck me Liv!" Olivia knew this wasn't the way. She wanted it but not like this. Amanda pulled away. "No one put you in charge. Fuck you Liv!" Olivia sighed as Amanda stormed out.
