TDI. Chapter 7: A Night in the Outdoors

(Dock of Shame)

We can see Chris in the center of the Dock of Shame. "Last time on Total Drama Island ..." the camera shows campers from both teams presenting themselves on the talent show. "Our campers showed what they are capable of in a talent show on national television."

The Bass are seen having bad auditions. "The Bass had the most trouble finding talents ..." Now we switch to Sadie accidentally ruining Courtney's violin. "Too bad Sadie's clumsiness sabotaged her own team by destroying Courtney's violin ..." Chris couldn't help but laugh as the camera shows Courtney trying to attack Sadie while being held back. "Awesome."

The camera changes to show Heather reading Gwen's diary and spying on Harold. "On the other hand, Heather, in an effort to gain more control over her team, has been looking for any form of blackmail against her teammates ..." Now we have a shot of the queen bee reading one of Harold's sheets. "It worked when she found something to blackmail Harold with, tough luck dude."

At this moment, we switch to the Bass elimination ceremony with Katie and Sadie hugging and crying. "In the end, Sadie ended up being eliminated, saying sayonara even without stepping on the stage, what an irony."

Finally, we return to Chris at the Shame Dock. "Anyway, friendships and romances are starting to emerge, the most skilled participants in the program are being defined, and I don't want to miss this. Who will walk on this dock at the next elimination ceremony? Find out here on TOTAL... DRAMA... ISLAND!"

(Opening, if you're curious, read the chapter "Not so Happy Campers - Part 1")

(Bonfire)

We see the campers gathering in the bonfire area after breakfast, it's another third day, indicating that today they have a challenge.

"What do you think they'll make us do today?" Cody asks his team for them to shrug.

"No idea, but if it's anything like last time, it'll be very pleasant" Beth responds with some enthusiasm. She really enjoyed the last challenge they had.

"Hey dude, are you okay?" Owen asks Harold, who tenses for a moment, feeling Heather's gaze, and nods.

"Sure, don't worry" he replies, though he would like to say otherwise.

(Confession)

"Heather found out a secret of mine and threatened to tell the others if I didn't help her and vote for whoever she chooses" Harold admits to the audience at home.

"I don't like it, but I have to figure out how to get out of this," he finishes with a sigh.

*Static*

"Was it wrong to threaten Harold like that?" Heather sarcastically asks just before rolling her eyes.

"Please, I'm here to win, and I'll do whatever it takes to achieve it" she finishes, flipping her hair confidently.

(Bonfire)

"Hi Cody" Katie greets the geek in a friendly way as she arrives, drawing some surprised looks from the Bass and Gophers, except for Naruto.

"Hello Katie" Cody greets back, only for Leshawna to raise a curious eyebrow.

"Umm ... how did this happen?" the sassy girl asks, seeing those two chatting animatedly. Naruto responds.

"It was during the night Sadie was eliminated," the Japanese boy says to tell them what happened.

(In cameras flashback)

"Let it out dude, get it out of your system" Naruto pats Cody on the back as he pukes his dinner into a bush. The geek felt disgusted while returning to the cabin after eating what he wanted to believe was mashed potatoes, but every time someone asked, Chef burst into laughter.

After puking, the geek feels much better. "Thanks for the help Naruto" Cody thanks the boy. "How many candies do we have left?" he asks as they walk back, prompting Naruto to grimace.

"With Owen in our cabin, not many" he replies, causing Cody to facepalm.

Some campers brought candies to share and make friends when they arrived at the show, but with Chef's food, they had to use them as a way to recover sugar every time someone puked. Naruto, Heather, Courtney, and DJ were in charge of rationing them in each of their rooms, something that surprised the Japanese boy was that the queen bee didn't take advantage of this, but he attributes it to Heather wanting the Gophers to be at their max capacity in every challenge. Too bad the candies are running out.

That was because of Owen, everyone had to struggle to prevent the oaf from eating everything. There were barely a dozen left for the Gophers, Heather and Naruto had to hide the candies outside the cabin to prevent the oaf from finding them, but that was something that happened way more often than he would like to admit. It's not like he dislikes Owen, but the guy has to control himself when it comes to food.

Sighing at the same time, both were reaching their cabin only to notice a dejected Katie sitting on one of the steps of her cabin, hugging her legs with her head resting on her knees with a depressed look on her face. She stopped crying a while ago with the combined efforts of Bridgette and DJ, but right now, she wanted some time alone after what happened with Sadie.

"Hey, Cody, why don't you help her?" the Japanese suggests to the geek, who looks at him surprised.

"What, me? Why?" Cody asks, and Naruto replies.

"Well, you already helped her in the first challenge, so she has identified you as a trustworthy person" the Japanese reasons.

"Come on dude, at least help me out with this" Cody claims as Naruto enters his side of the cabin, ignoring him and wishing him luck.

Sighing with a groan, the boy was about to enter the cabin, but seeing Katie again, he could see how miserable she was. This made him swallow and take a breath, deciding that he was going to do it.

"Come on, Cody, you can do it" the geek gives himself confidence before going to talk to her.

(End of in cameras flashback)

"I don't know what they talked about, but it worked in the end, and the two became quite close as you can see" Naruto finishes telling as he sees those two still talking. Shortly after, Chris arrives at the forest entrance.

"Campers ..." Chris calls their attention to give the instructions for the challenge. "Today's challenge will test your outdoor survival skills. I won't lie, some of you won't come back alive" he announces seriously, getting horrified gasps from the campers, although this made the host laugh at them.

"Suckers! You should've seen your faces" Chris laughs as he wipes a tear.

"That wasn't funny Chris" Gwen grumbles as she grabs a stone to throw at him, but Chris lifts his hands in defense.

"Alright, the challenge is simple, just spend a night in the forest. Everything you need, like the tent and other things are in your assigned areas" he explains while taking two maps and throwing one to each team.

"The first team to return to this place by breakfast time wins and gets a reward ..." he mentions, gaining everyone's attention. Ever since the hot tub challenge, they hadn't had a reward challenge "while the losing team will send someone home. Oh, and beware of the bears, I lost a couple of interns while preparing the challenge" he adds, now drawing surprised and fearful looks from several.

"How haven't you been sued yet?!" Bridgette asks incredulously.

"What can I say, I love the fine print" a smiling Chris mentions receiving incredulous looks from the campers as he casually mentions that.

"Well, see you tomorrow, try not to get eaten" Chris says as he leaves.

"Did he say there are bears?" Leshawna asks with wide eyes.

"Don't worry guys, I once killed a bear with my grandpa" Owen says, drawing curious looks from the others.

"Really?" Gwen looks skeptical about that.

"Awesome, I once saw a bear eating from our trash" Izzy says while climbing on DJ's back and using his head as a drum, much to the Jamaican's displeasure.

"It had spaghetti hanging from its fangs, and sauce all over its snout" she says, laughing a bit. "From our perspective, we thought it had blood and guts giving us the idea that it was eating the neighbor's cat, Simba, but in the end, it turned out it was just lost" the girl finishes, earning strange and disgusted looks for what she just said.

"Okay..." Duncan mumbles not knowing what else to say.

(With the Screaming Gophers)

"Thanks for leading us, Owen" Trent says as Owen guides them with the map Chris gave them.

The oaf just laughs at that. "No problem dude, this is piece of cake" he says confidently as he leads them.

"Hey, Owen, is it true that you killed a bear with your grandpa?" Beth asks curiously.

"Sure I did, it was big, strong, and very aggressive ..." the oaf answers. "And actually, that's not one of my first adventures. I was fishing with my family once when a shark bit me in the butt, I still have the scar" he announces, pulling down his pants to show the scar, causing grimaces of horror, disgust, or a combination of both.

"Pull up your pants, Owen!" Leshawna exclaims, making the oaf startle and immediately obey.

"TMI" Gwen mentions with a deadpan look until someone touches her shoulder, and she turns to see Naruto.

"Well, at least with the challenge, we can distract ourselves" the Japanese boy finishes with a smile, and the goth girl gives him one to continue chatting on the way under the smiling face of Leshawna.

(With the Killer Bass)

"I can't believe there's no food" Courtney complains, analyzing everything in their assigned area. They only had a stored tent, a circle of stones to indicate the campfire zone, and some packages of plastic dishes, cups, and forks.

"Food? More like this whole camp is a complete shit" Duncan continues. He wouldn't be surprised if the tent had several holes.

"Language Duncan" Courtney admonishes him with a stern look but the punk just scoffs at that.

"Whatever you say Captain America" the polite girl feels her eye twitching at that.

"Well, Chris said it's a survival challenge, so I guess we have to find our own food" Bridgette tries to go back into topic, which it worked.

"Oh, maybe we could call a bear to hunt for us" Izzy suggests animatedly, but ends up tackled by Courtney and Eva when she was about to call a bear.

(Confession)

"Sometimes I feel like I have to sleep with an open eye with Izzy near me" Katie admits without a problem and then continues.

"Once Izzy let raccoons into our room because she rented it in exchange for berries and nuts without us noticing. All of us ended up being attacked when Courtney screamed when she got up at 3 in the morning to go to the bathroom" she explains while shuddering at the memory, it wasn't a nice one.

*Static*

"I won't risk being attacked by wild animals again, let alone in a forest, thank you very much" Courtney clarifies with a serious look and her hands on her hips.

*Static*

"No thanks, I want to sleep peacefully tonight" Eva mentions with her arms crossed.

*Static*

DJ whistles impressed "Man, they won't forget the raccoon incident for a while."

(With the Killer Bass)

"We could look for some berries," Katie suggests as an alternative for her team to accept the idea immediately.

(With the Screaming Gophers)

"You are kidding, right?" Heather deadpans while seeing the 'fantastic' camp team they had.

"At this point, I don't expect anything from Chris anymore" Gwen says, taking the tent to start assembling it, only to let go and scream in terror at the sight of a rat coming out of it.

"Guys, how are we going to get food?" Trent asks, not even seeing a can to eat.

"I'm already on it" Owen clarifies with a nearly finished plant-made fishing net, earning surprised looks from the others.

"How did you do that so fast Owen?" a surprised Beth asks, they had only been in the place for about 10 minutes, and Owen had already gathered materials and made great progress on that net.

"My grandpa is a great teacher when it comes to hunting in the forest..." the oaf clarifies to stand up with the finished net. "Anyone want to help me?"

"Of course dude" Naruto agrees as he and Trent go with Owen to fish while the others set up the tent and gather firewood.

(With the Killer Bass)

The Bass were finishing setting up the tent and the campfire while waiting for Katie, DJ, and Courtney to come back with the berries they found.

"Wow, you set up the tent like a guy" Geoff tells Bridgette, who gives him a strange look for what he just said. The party guy just widens up his eyes wide open, realizing what he just said.

(Confession)

"You set up the tent like a guy?" Geoff wonders to himself and then facepalms. What the hell was that?

(With the Killer Bass)

"We're back" announces Courtney as she and Katie bring all the berries they could find.

"And DJ?" Tyler asks, surprised not to see the Jamaican, making the two girls look back in surprise.

"Wasn't he following us?" Katie asks, and Courtney nods.

"Great, the dude got lost ..." Duncan mentions sarcastically until he sees DJ coming out of some bushes "and forget what I said" he finishes, arranging the firewood and lighting the fire as it starts to get dark.

"Can you tell us where you went?" Courtney wanted to find out until she noticed that the Jamaican had a rabbit in his hands.

"Awww ... cutie, who'sh the cutesh little thingy ewer? You are, of coursh yov are" Courtney baby talks to the rabbit while petting it to the delight of the animal.

"Dude, did you really leave the berries to pick up a rabbit?" Duncan asks with a 'are you serious' look.

"Don't worry, I left the berries nearby," DJ dismisses the punk's complaint, giving the rabbit to Courtney, who hugs it like a stuffed animal without hurting it.

"Alright Bunny, don't cause too much trouble while I'm away" DJ instructs his pet to go for his berries before night falls.

"Wow, such an original name" Eva mutters while rolling her eyes.

"Good, otherwise I'll be having rabbit stew for tonight's dinner" Duncan mentions, but some branches are thrown at his face, courtesy of Courtney. "Ah, my eye!"

"Stay away you monster!" Courtney exclaims, now hugging Bunny protectively.

(With the Screaming Gophers)

It's been a while since they finished setting up the camp, but right now, they're very hungry.

"I'm so hungry" Heather complains with her stomach growling.

"How much longer are those three going to take? It's getting dark already" Gwen says, somewhat worried as she looks in the direction Owen, Trent, and Naruto went. She just hopes they haven't been hunted by a bear.

But before they could say more, the voice of an unknown person made himself present. "Did anyone order a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese?"

All the Gophers present turned to see a pizza delivery guy taking out the mentioned order from his motorcycle, which surprisingly made no noise when it was close to them.

"The fuck?" Leshawna couldn't find an explanation for what was happening. How did the man manage to get to the island on a motorcycle?

"Here, it's for the camera crew" announces one of the cameramen, earning several bad looks from the Gophers.

"What? We need to eat" another cameraman tries to explain nervously, too bad that this only earned him intensified bad looks.

But before anything else happens, Trent, Owen, and Naruto returned to the assigned area with the fishing net full of fish cut from one side.

"Hey guys, how's everything going up?" Trent asks, but dodges a stone thrown by Heather.

"Can you tell us where you've been? We've been waiting for you all day," the queen bee reproaches them, only for Naruto to answer back.

"Sorry Dweeb, but we've been fishing all day and gutting all these fish so we can eat peacefully. So stop complaining, at least you'll have something decent for dinner" he mentions, surprising Trent and Owen.

"Don't think you're so important just because you brought some little fish, you Moron. You could have easily brought something simpler like enough berries to eat long before" she admonishes him as she and Naruto are face to face.

"That's a great suggestion, dear Hebi. In that case, why didn't you go look for some yourselves?" the Japanese guy asks a good question in a 'kind' manner, unaware of what he just caused.

"Don't call me that ever again you shithead" Heather growls dangerously. She may be as mean as she wants, but that nickname is only allowed to her family.

"This is going to blow" Cody murmurs as some approach to intervene, and others move away from the conflict.

As for Naruto, whether out of bravery or simple stupidity, he just continued "Come on Hebi, it's a cute ni..." but couldn't finish when the queen bee tackles him with a roar to start a fight to the astonishment of their teams.

"Oh my cookies, that's bad!" Owens grabs his head while Trent drags him to separate those two.

(Confession)

"Total Drama Island is not responsible when conflicts of this nature occur among the contestants" Chris professionally announces while holding a copy of the contracts in his hand, which would have worked if his phone weren't ringing.

Taking the device, the host answers "Hello?" Chris just nodded and made noises while gradually getting a look of understanding and some concern. "Oh shit."

(With the Killer Bass)

"You know, with these berries, I'm considering eating this instead of Chef's food" none of the Bass opposes Tyler's idea.

"True, but I don't think the berries will last all the time, and with the wild animals on the island will make it a risk" Courtney replies with a lot of logic getting a disappointed sighs from the rest of the team.

On the other hand, Bridgette didn't look very calm to say the least, just heard an owl was enough to make her lose her cool, making her approach the nearest person, which in this case was Geoff.

"Relax, Bridge, it was just an owl" the party guy calms her, to Bridgette's slight embarrassment judging by the slight blush on her cheeks.

"Sorry, but I'm terrified of being in the middle of the forest" the girl confesses while rubbing her arm. To her surprise, Geoff grabs her shoulder to calm her.

"Don't worry, you're among friends, everything will be fine" he comforts, making the girl feel safer.

"Thank you guys" she thanks her team, prompting Duncan to interject.

"Well, as long as you let me win the hundred grand, then everything's fine" he clarifies to everyone, earning amused snorts from some.

"I want to see you try, punk," Eva asserts with a challenging smile.

"You'll see how I beat you tough girl" Duncan retorts with a defiant smile, lightening the mood. However, Tyler comes up with an idea.

"Now that we're talking about money, what would you do if you win? I'll use it for my athlete career" the clumsy jock admits, making some of his team members smile.

"Same here, I want to participate in the Olympics, and the money will be a great support" Eva also admits, she's still struggling to control her anger, but she's also making good progress with the meditation.

"I suppose your discipline would be weightlifting?" Bridgette asks, and Eva nods.

"Also javelin throwing" the athletic girl admits.

"Well, I'd like to use it for my career as a marine biologist when I get to college" the surfer admits.

"Same, but in my case, it would be for law school," Courtney mentions, and both of them share a smile.

"Boring" Duncan yawns earning a disapproving look from the polite girl.

"And what do you plan to do with the money Mr. Fun?" Courtney asks, and Duncan shrugs.

"I don't know, just joined the show to change the routine for a while," he admits, earning another disapproving look.

"You need to think about your future Duncan, you can't continue like this" Courtney scolds him, but the punk just rolls his eyes.

"I'll think of something princess. I still have a year before going to college" he clarifies, and Courtney facepalms.

"Well ..." to get back to the topic quickly, Katie announces her plans for the money "I plan to open my own ice cream shop with Sadie. Our ice creams are quite popular back home, so our parents gave us the idea to start a business" she admits to the surprise of her team.

"Good for you ..." DJ compliments, receiving a thankful look from Katie "I want to open a restaurant with my momma" the Jamaican tells his plans for the money.

"Well, my parents want to use that money for my college ..." Geoff mentions but then gets a thoughtful look "although now that I think about it, I could throw the biggest party I've ever" he explains excitedly until Bridgette gives him a small slap on the arm to call his attention, once she did, the surfer girl points to one of the cameras.

"But my studies are always the first thing on the list, isn't that right, Ma and Pa?" Geoff nervously greets the camera.

"Cool, I need it to pay off some debts and get the army off my back" Izzy mentions with her typical smile, earning confused, dismayed, or deadpan looks.

(Confession)

"Yeah, I think at this point we can all agree that Izzy is a bit cuckoo" Geoff mentions while making the 'someone is missing a screw' gesture.

*Static*

"Do you know what's most worrying?" Tyler asks the viewers at home, "That it's quite likely she's telling the truth."

(With the Killer Bass)

"You know, all this atmosphere reminds me of a horror story I heard before" Duncan tells them, seeing everyone interested except for Bridgette, who didn't find horror stories amusing, especially not in the middle of the forest.

"Really? Tell us dude?" but Geoff ruined that by being interested.

"That would be great" Tyler also adds to the surfer girl's dismay.

"Are you sure?" the punk asks them with a poker face, "The story is pretty hardcore" he warns them.

"Ohh, we are soo scared ..." Courtney mocks a bit while rolling her eyes "just tell the story" it seems she got interested too.

"All right, but don't say I didn't warn you," the punk says to start telling, "One night, a lot like this one ..."

(With the Screaming Gophers)

"I can't believe you two really ended up in a physical fight" Gwen scolds while eating a cooked fish next to Naruto, who has scratch marks on his right cheek and a black eye.

"Tell it to the daddy's girl who can't go a moment without complaining about not having what she wants," the Japanese guy mumbles quietly, unfortunately, the queen bee heard him.

"Do you want to continue you Moron?" a Heather with a swollen cheek had to be stopped by Lindsay and Beth so she wouldn't start another fight, the same case with Leshawna and Owen stopping Naruto.

"Whoa, whoa, calm down everyone, why not tell stories instead?" Trent tries to calm the atmosphere, which more or less works as they see them snort and sit reluctantly.

(Confession)

"Those two really need to chill out, they've been like this since we got to the island, and that doesn't favor the team" Trent mentions while rubbing his forehead, Naruto is a cool guy to hang out with, but he needs to calm down whenever he is close to Heather.

(With the Screaming Gophers)

"As if I want to hear children's stories in the middle of the forest," the queen bee grumbles, but Leshawna responds at her.

"Do you have anything better to do?" Heather opens her mouth to then close it without having anything else to say.

"I thought so" the sassy girl asserts, but everyone turned to look at some bushes upon hearing a rustle, they see it moving and then see a bear appearing out of it.

"This has to be a joke" Gwen murmurs with wide eyes, while almost all the Gophers walk slowly backward, that's right, almost all of them because someone expressed himself differently.

"FOR THE TOWER OF PISA, WE'RE GONNA DIIIEEEEEE!" Owen screams at the top of his lungs, annoying the bear that ended up roaring at them, it is worth noting that Cody had wet his pants with that roar.

"Everyone to the tree" Beth indicates so that everyone can climb quickly just before the bear swipes at someone.

"Owen, do something!" Heather orders up in the tree with Lindsay, given that before the oaf could admit anything, he was saved by his Japanese partner who was on a branch with Gwen.

"Are you crazy woman?! He doesn't even have a damn weapon to shoot the damn bear, right, Owen?" he asks only to receive a nod from Owen.

"Naru is right" the oaf emphasizes making Heather scream in frustration.

(Confession)

Owen was nervously laughing "Well, I might have exaggerated a bit with the story where I killed a bear with my grandpa." He admits to the audience at home.

(With the Screaming Gophers)

"This is all your fault, the bear was obviously attracted by the smell of the fish!" the queen bee points out.

"Now you blame us for giving you a decent meal? The hell is wrong with you, spoiled brat?!" Naruto retorts.

"Are you seriously arguing right now?!" a disbelieving Harold asks, seeing by their stubbornness.

"Shut it!" Heather and Naruto shout at him simultaneously.

(With the Killer Bass)

Duncan was finishing his horror story with some of the Killer Bass looking somewhat scared; it's undoubtedly an intense story. "So suddenly they heard this tap, tap, tap, on the side of the car. The girl started to freak out, and by this time even the guy was getting a bit scared, so he turned the car on and stepped on it"

The anxiety on Geoff, Tyler, and Courtney's faces was evident, and DJ and Katie were also scared. "When they got back to the girl's house, she opened the door and screamed, because there, hanging from the door handle, was the bloody hook" some of them are getting close together by instinct to feel some comfort.

"They say that this killer is still alive, wandering this very woods, he could just be just around anywhere really, maybe even right HERE!" Duncan suddenly shouts at the top of his lungs with a terrifying expression and pulls out a hook, causing almost his entire team to scream.

Hearing Duncan's laughter, Courtney was not happy at all. "Duncan! That was so not funny!" she scolds him while trying to calm down.

"Of course it was. I just wish this were on camera. Wait a minute, it is!" Duncan recalls, looking at the camera crew.

Suddenly, wolf howls are heard, causing Courtney to hug Duncan out of fear, to the surprise and delight of the punk. Hey, don't judge him, he won't refuse a hug from a hot girl, although he didn't continue with his thoughts when he gave a thumbs up to a teasingly smiling Geoff.

(With the Screaming Gophers)

"The food" Owen mumbles sadly, seeing the bear amusingly grilling and eating the remaining fish with a chef's hat that he seemingly pulled out of nowhere.

"Amazing, a bear eats our dinner, we'll sleep in the tree tonight. And what the hell is that smell?" Heather asks the latter, making Cody blush in embarrassment.

"Can this get any worse? the queen bee sarcastically asks, and then it starts raining.

"Seriously? Never involve Murphy's law in situations like this" a frustrated Gwen advises.

(With the Killer Bass)

The team goes to their tent to sleep because of the rain, although Bridgette has trouble sleeping. Fortunately, DJ notices.

"Trouble sleeping?" he asks, and she nods.

"Yeah, I need to go to the bathroom, but I'm scared to go out alone" she admits, and DJ goes with her to accompany her.

With both outside, Bridgette goes to some bushes, but unfortunately, she trips over one of the tent ropes, pulling it down and tearing it. Rain falls on the rest of the team, who woke up reluctantly, much to the embarrassment of the surfer. Apparently, no one would have a good night's sleep.

(Next morning - with the Screaming Gophers)

"My back is all stiff" Leshawna complains while holding her sore back.

"At least the bear is gone" Trent says, rubbing his eyes.

"Same goes for our map" Gwen announces, showing her ruined map.

"Incredible, just incredible," Heather complains, irritating everyone.

"You know what, Dweeb?" Naruto begins, but Gwen interrupts.

"It's enough with both of you!" she shouts, making everyone turn to her in surprise. "Since we arrived, you've been like this, so shut the hell up, or we kick both of you out of the island!" she threatens them, a threat that even Heather's alliance seemed to consider, but a look from the queen bee made them regret thinking about it.

Naruto was about to argue, but a furious glare that he knows far too well made him retract. It seems he pushed his goth teammate's patience too far this time, although Heather noticed this, despite her astonishment at this new facet of Gwen.

"Now let's all go back, this challenge won't win by itself" Gwen orders much calmer but still firm, making everyone follow her still surprised by the outburst of the normally reserved goth girl.

(Confession)

"Wow, Gwen sure got angry" Beth says somewhat surprised.

(With the Killer Bass)

"Good morning, princess" was the first thing Courtney heard upon waking up, she felt comfy where she was sleeping, but that made her question herself how that was possible since they are in the woods, so she opened her eyes realizing to her horror and embarrassment that she had slept on top of her punk teammate.

"Oh my … EWWW, were you hugging me?!" she asks very scandalized, with a blush forming on her cheeks, her scream woke up the others.

"Me? Of course not. You were cuddling on top of me, darling ..." he teasingly clarifies himself, seeing the girl's blush intensify, and Duncan didn't want to stop now with an audience around and across Canada from home.

"Is there something you wanted to tell me or suggest, Princess?" he asks while wiggling his brows, leaving a very red Courtney who is unable to find the words to deny what Duncan is suggesting, it didn't help that her teammates were entertained and chuckling or giggling while watching the show.

"Y-y-y-you, OGRE!" she squeaks, completely embarrassed and her thoughts going a mile per hour, her parents are watching the show! What would they think of this?!

"I'm glad we made a connection, my dear Fiona" Duncan declares while putting his hand on his heart as if he had been captivated, eliciting a frustrated scream from the polite girl.

"Well, moving on to another topic..." Bridgette wanted to give poor Courtney a break since her face already looked like a tomato from how red it was "we have to go back" she indicates while taking the map from under her clothes, fortunately, it was dry and in good shape.

(Bonfire)

Chris was with a watch in hand waiting for the first team to arrive, it's been 5 minutes since breakfast time, so they should be arriving anytime soon.

And as expected, the Killer Bass were the first to arrive. "All right, the Killer Bass wins" Chris announces, and the team celebrates. It wasn't until 10 minutes later that the Screaming Gophers arrived.

"Hello Gophers, how was your night?" Chris asks, holding back a laugh. He knows from the cameras what happened to them, and he was secretly hoping that Heather and Naruto wouldn't be kicked out, those two really put on a show.

"Shut it Chris" Leshawna growls upon seeing that they arrived last.

"All right, but before anything else, a quick announcement. Due to a certain conflict that arose between certain contestants ..." Chris mentions while Heather and Naruto tense up worried "you are asked to lower the level of the blows, otherwise, you're out" he announces, receiving a collective "What?" from the campers.

"Did you expect an immediate elimination?" Chris asks rhetorically before having a wild grin "Just imagine the ratings we'll get with this" he announces excitedly "But yeah, just control the intensity of the blows, and everything's gonna be fine with me and the producers" he clarifies before looking at the Killer Bass.

"Well then, Bass, I hope you brought some cash because your reward is a direct visit to a restaurant for a free breakfast and then going to the nearest tuck shop to buy whatever you want as long as it's allowed" he mentions before pointing to Chef, who is dressed as a ship captain on one of the yachts they used when they arrived with on the island, being towed to the beach. This makes the Bass cheer, free breakfast with real food and more supplies to endure their stay on the island.

"Gophers, I'll see you here tonight ... oh, and I heard that Chef got inspired for today's breakfast" this caused Chef to give them a smile that makes the Gophers turn green for what just awaits them.

(Bonfire - night)

"Everyone has voted, whoever doesn't receive a marshmallow will have to go through the Dock of Shame, board the Boat of Losers, and don't come back … ever" Chris announces.

"And those saved tonight are Gwen, Harold, Leshawna, Beth, Cody, Owen, Lindsay..." Chris names them, tossing marshmallows their way, leaving Heather, Trent, and Naruto worried.

"Naruto," the Japanese guy sighs in relief, while Heather's concern increases, this isn't good, but he trusts her alliance.

"And the last marshmallow goes to ..." Trent looks worried, while Heather stares at the marshmallow intently. "Heather," Chris finishes, surprising the others.

"What, seriously?!" Leshawna protests, if the queen bee is insufferable.

"Don't blame me, I just count the votes" Chris defends himself. "Trent, see you never" the host indicates to the musician, who sighs.

"Oh man, this sucks" the disappointed musician mutters for his friends to approach him.

"Hey, if it makes you feel better, there's nothing against you, and I think the others agree," Gwen reassures him, with Naruto and Leshawna nodding in agreement, but the goth girl looks somewhat thoughtful, what just happened there?

"Thanks guys. Good luck with the game" the musician tells them and then proceeds to hug Gwen and Leshawna, and fist pump Naruto before picking up his things and head to the dock.

(Confession)

"This sucks," Leshawna complains with a disgusted look. "Why the heck did they eliminate Trent when he's done nothing but help the team?" she wonders.

*Static*

"I had already said it, that Idiot's group is too dangerous," Heather indicates, quite pleased.

"Although I don't like it, I need that Moron on the team for the most difficult physical challenges, and the weird goth girl seems to be able to keep him in line. So, that left me deciding between Trent and Leshawna" the queen bee mentions.

"In the end, I needed five votes. Lindsay, Beth, and Harold contributed well, and Owen, piece of cake" Heather says.

*Static*

Owen can be seen eating the last reserve candies of the Gophers. "Mmmmm, yummy" he laughs happily while still eating.

(Dock of Shame)

"What a night our campers had," Chris mentions, laughing. "Looks like Courtney won't forget her first night with Duncan, Heather is making her moves with Trent being her first victim, we're seeing the competition unfold, and I'm making great profits from this" he says happily, pointing to himself with his thumbs.

"What will happen next? Who knows, but I invite you to find out with me. Bring your friends, gather your family, and don't miss what will happen next time on TOTAL … DRAMA ... ISLAND!"

End of the chapter.

Teams:

Screaming Gophers: Beth, Cody, Gwen, Harold, Heather, Leshawna, Lindsay, Naruto, Owen.

Killer Bass: Bridgette, Courtney, DJ, Duncan, Eva, Geoff, Izzy, Katie, Tyler.

Eliminated: Justin, Noah, Sadie, Trent

I bet neither of you expected this elimination right? Well, as I mentioned before, Naruto even by doing nothing or very little, is changing the course of TDI, we are having new interactions between the cast, new groups, and more.

I didn't liked what they did with Trent after season 1 in the cannon story so this time around he won't have his obsession with 9 so soon, and don't get me wrong, I know about his condition and I know that I can't change that even if I want to, because like I said before, I try to be as close as possible to the cannon personalities of the cast, I'll try to think what to do with his condition afterwards.

And Heather? yep, she doesn't mess around and will try to win by eliminating any threats, even if they are from her own team while making sure to keep her team as strong as possible, quite a situation with her right.

And yeah, I try to give all the characters equal screen time, that was what made TDI so popular in my opinion, the interaction between people with way too different personalities interacting with each other and I wonder how good I'm representing it, what do you think?

And well, that's it for now from the not so much of a reader now.

I will be reading the reviews, accepting constructive criticism and interesting ideas.

Until next time.
