All this positive feedback is making me ignore my other stories. I am torn between being grateful and being concerned about my time management skills. Anyway, here's the next chapter.

Izuku was laying in bed wide awake. Today was the day of the UA Entrance Exam. His All-Might alarm clocked showed that it was several hours before he needed to board the trains to arrive at UA, much less when he needed to get up.

Izuku woke up before the sun rose and before his own mom. Izuku spent however long throwing a ball in the air. He alternated catching it with his telekinesis then throwing back up and catching it with his hands.

Was he nervous? Of course, he was. This was the test that decided on whether or not his dream of being a hero can be a reality. Izuku knew he needed the sleep but couldn't for the life of him go back. Izuku let the ball drop into his hand and sighed. It was close enough to start getting ready anyway. He rolled off his bed and started his morning routine.

Despite his early rise, Izuku and his mother eventually joined each other for breakfast. There was small talk, exchanged pleasantries. It was normal for them. It was a slice of comfort before Izuku had to face his trial ahead.

Before he left, Inko took her child into her arms and confessed that even if he doesn't get in, she will always be proud of her son no matter what. After some hugging and some tears, the boy made his way to the train station.

UA. The most prestigious school in Japan and quite possibly the world. Every Hero has made up to the Top 10 rankings has walked these halls. And as Izuku looked up to the H-shaped building in awe, he realized that this could be where he would start his Hero career.

Izuku felt himself getting shoved out of the way from behind. After a brief cry of pain and rubbing the bruised arm, Izuku looked to see a very familiar friend turning to face him.

"What the hell are you doing here, Deku?" Kacchan glared furiously at Izuku.

Izuku had to fight from freezing up entirely underneath his old friend's stare. "I-I'm here to take the Entrance Exam, same as you, Kacchan."

Izuku saw Kacchan's hand curl up, a prime signal that he would activate his Quirk and blast Izuku with it. However, the explosive boy put it down.

"Whatever," Kacchan said with a scoff. "Don't get in my way, and maybe these old timers will send you home when they realize how worthless you are."

And with that, the boy put his hands in his pockets, turned on his heel and walked away. Izuku let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Back at Aldrea, Kacchan would have freely used his Quirk to "teach" Izuku not to mess with him. Now, there was too much at stake for Kacchan to be rough around Izuku with so many eyes watching and judging him.

Izuku let out a breath he was holding in. He hadn't even step inside yet and already he was back to his old habits. He couldn't let his past with Kacchan mess with him now. He was different from the scared, Quirkless boy that saw his notebooks get burn nearly a year ago. This is where Heroes are made, and Izuku now had the power and training to make it a reality. All he had to do was step through those doors. Izuku took one step forward…

And immediately tripped on himself.

Izuku's first though was that this was embarrassing. Not even one minute after steeling himself up, he was already making a fool of himself. His second thought was that the ground was going to hurt his face when he landed on it.

Now, Izuku's first instinct was to either try and catch himself with his hands or let his Quirk push him back up. What happened was that he felt someone slap his back and he stopped falling.

Izuku floated before, even if it was just the one time. When he tried to fly, he could feel his own Quirk wrap around him. This was different. He felt nothing around him as he floated. It was as if someone turned off gravity around him.

"Oh, my goodness! I should have asked first before using my Quirk, but I didn't want to see you get hurt!"

A new voice shouted from behind him. Izuku saw a hand push him back up to a standing position before gravity suddenly reassured itself and he fell to his feet.

Izuku's hero was a girl, not to mention a cute one too. Her cinnamon hair was in a bob cut with two bangs falling down on either side of her face. Her big brown eyes shone with worry. Combined that with cheeks any doting grandmother would love to squeeze, this girl would be a prime contender for being cute. Not to mention she was nearly right up in his face.

What Izuku wanted to say was, "Don't worry about it. Thanks for helping me." Instead, what came out his mouth was incomprehensible gibberish. If Izuku was thinking straight, he would have kicked himself for being stupid.

The girl didn't seem to mind it.

"Let me guess, nervous about the exam," She made it more of a statement than a question. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll both do fine. See you inside!"

And with that, the girl left for the building, leaving Izuku standing dumbly in the courtyard. Our potential Hero in training stood there with only one thought running through his mind:

"Oh my God, I actually talked to a girl!"

After getting inside and finding his seat, unfortunately next to Kacchan, Izuku waited till there were any announcements. Luckily, it didn't take long before a live feed appeared on the TVs hanging above the upcoming students.

"HOW ARE WE DOING THIS MORNING, EVERYBODY?! CAN I GET A 'HEY, YEAH!'?" A loud, energetic man appeared on the screens above. Dressed like a DJ, with blond hair shaped like a crescent and wearing sunglasses, this was the Voice Hero, Present Mic.

Sadly, no one bothered to repeat his attempt at pep rallying. Izuku guessed most people were either shy, socially concerned of not fitting in, or just weren't morning people. Still, this was amazing for Izuku, who used to listen to Present Mic's podcast almost every day. His mumbling did get called out by Kacchan, though.

"ALL RIGHT," Present Mic seemed to just roll with the lack of enthusiasm displayed by the kids. "WITH THAT OUT OF THE WAY, LET'S GET INTO THE NITTY GRITTY OF THE EXAM!"

Present Mic's voice lowered in volume but not enthusiasm.

"First, all you listeners will take a written exam. You all got around an hour and a half to finish. After that, you'll take a fifteen-minute break while you gear up before loading up on a bus to go to the practical exam."

The scene shifted to pictures of an urban city.

"The practical exam consists of locating and destroying robotic Villains. These malevolent machines are worth points valuing from one to three. Be warned, the higher the point value, the tougher these bots will be."

A hand shot up in the crowd.

"Yes, curious caller?" Present Mic pointed towards the hand. It belonged to a young man that had a strong build. Despite this, his average haircut and glasses gave him more of a bookworm or obedient student vibe.

"I have a question on the villains," The boy responded. "You have described three types of villains, however on the printout, it lists four! Surely a highly qualified school such as UA would not overlook such a simple mistake."

"And you," The boy pointed straight at Izuku. "You've been muttering this entire time! It is quite disrespectful, and I would like to ask you to stop!"

Oh, man, has Izuku been doing that the entire time? He clamped his mouth shut while he could feel Kacchan growling behind him.

"That'll be explained shortly, curious caller," Present Mic continued with the same enthusiasm as before. "You see, our fourth type of Villain is called a Zero-pointer. It isn't worth any points and is more of an obstacle than an enemy."

"Ah! I understand," Glasses guy bowed respectfully. "I apologize for my earlier outburst."

"No worries, lucky listener!" Present Mic assured the boy. "Any other questions?!" Nobody spoke up. "Now, you should have been given packets detailing where you'll be taking the tests. And before you all storm out of here, I wanna drop some words of wisdom on you all. The great hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said, 'True heroism consists in being superior to the ills of life.' Plus Ultra, everybody! Break a leg!"

Izuku found the pamphlet and started to follow the ground to the testing rooms. There was no turning back, now.

The written exam wasn't as hard as Izuku thought it would be. Sure, it wasn't a breeze, but it was far easier than what Izuku was dreading. After finishing the written exam and taking the break to change into his workout clothes and destress for a bit, Izuku boarded a bus that would take him and his fellow exam takers to a site called Ground Beta. Fortunately, Kacchan wasn't going to be with Izuku at the testing site. Izuku overheard that the teachers separated kids who went to the same school together to prevent any forming alliance on the practical exam.

The test site was impressive by all means. A full-scale city area, condensed inside UA's faculties. Izuku stared at in awe along with his fellow participants. They all stood behind a blue line that divided them from the city. Most other kids were stretching or trying to psyche themselves up before the exam. Izuku noticed the girl from earlier off by herself. She seemed nervous, or at least trying to combat that nervousness. Izuku went to try and talk with her but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder.

"Are you trying to distract that young lady?" Oh man, its glasses guy again, who looked at Izuku sternly.

"I, well no, I just-" Izuku stammered before getting interrupted by glasses guy.

"She is trying to concentrate on the exam. I would rather you not be a distraction like you were earlier, but maybe it's just who you are."

If Izuku didn't feel embarrassed by that, then the snickers and dismissals by his fellow testers did that for him. Quite a few had blown off Izuku already due to his nervousness, which increased it. It wasn't before long till Present Mic announced that the exam would start soon. Most of the participants either got into a running position or just focused up. What they didn't expect was there to be no count down at all as the test began.

"There's no countdowns in real life, kids!" Present Mic yelled. "Go! Go! Go!"

A surge of people rushed out from behind the blue line and scattered themselves in the city. While Izuku could have usen his telekinesis for flight, he didn't have much control over it, and it would look bad for the judges to see him flail around with a barely controlled Quirk. Izuku instead sprinted to the city along with the rest of the test takers.

It was nearly a minute in till Izuku saw his first robot. It's small size and the number 1 printed on its chest designated it as a one-pointer. Izuku had two different strategies: either pick up the robot and smash it with his telekinesis, or he would use other debris to pelt at it if he couldn't pick up the robot. Izuku didn't know how much the one-pointer weighed, so it caught him by surprise when he was able to easily lift it with his Quirk.

Izuku then smashed the one-pointer against the ground, wrecking it entirely. Izuku felt good about having something to destroy with his Quirk. Moving things was fine, but there was some primal pleasure with smashing things with your own power.

As the test continued onward, Izuku encountered more and more robots. The one-pointers were amazing easy to destroy. The two pointers were more trouble, but they could be crushed within Izuku's telekinetic field or have chucks of concrete thrown at them. The three-pointers as tall as two-story buildings and were too heavy for Izuku to pick up. Luckily, trashed remains of one-pointers proved to be useful ammunition to taking down these robotic goliaths.

Despite his robot trashing, Izuku learned one thing he really should have trained more: his physical speed. A good number of other test takers were faster than him athletically or by their Quirks. This meant that these students would have taken robots down before Izuku could get to them or they steal a point away from Izuku by destroying one he was about to attack. At one point, some kid speaking French bisected a two pointer Izuku was holding with a laser coming from his belly button.

This chaotic free-for-all seemed to last forever, and no matter how much Present Mic counted down the minutes, it only made the feeling last. Everywhere Izuku would turn, there would be destroyed robots, wrecked buildings, and other participants taking down robots or running to other parts of the city. What was worse was that he was getting exhausted. While his Quirk never caused him pain, he could already feel his lungs burn and his grip on objects becoming less and less stable. What's worse still is that Izuku lost count of the amount of points he earned. He couldn't even guess the amount of points anyone else earned. Anxiety began to build up inside him. What if he didn't get enough points?

His thoughts were interrupted by Present Mic's announcement.

"ALRIGHT, KIDS! TIME FOR THE BIG ONE!"

The ground shook, startling everybody on the street level. Izuku turned to see the massive object being raised out of the ground. It was titanic. A kaiju-sized robot with the number zero on its chest. Its treads rolled down the street while its mechanical arms smashing random buildings.

The zero-pointer.

Izuku wanted to run, but his own fear paralyzed him. The other test takers were quicker on their feet, already fleeing from the robot. A cry of pain made him snap to the source.

It was the girl from earlier. Her lower body was trapped underneath some rubble. Nobody seemed to stop and help her. They were too concerned with getting out of the Zero-pointer's way. Izuku got a brief glimpse of glasses guy, who apparently had engines in his calves, running right past the girl.

Izuku knew it was practical for him to run away as well, but he couldn't stop his legs from running towards the girl. No matter how much they screamed in protest, Izuku fought through blind fear and made it to the girl. He tried to lift the rubble off of her, but his weakening telekinesis made the process slower than normal.

The girl had pointed out that the zero-pointer was nearly on top of them. Izuku stood there in horror. He didn't have the strength left to move the debris off of her in time. Fear took over as Izuku was left no choice but to abandon the girl.

No, said a voice inside of him. They weren't going to let this girl get hurt because they weren't strong enough. A true hero doesn't leave anyone behind, no matter how hard it would be.

It was like something took over Izuku. Gone was the fear and what replaced it was righteous fury. Izuku felt the power of his Quirk surge over him. Any pain or exhaustion was buried under heroic intentions and determination.

Izuku cocked his arm back, his hand curled into a fist. He heard All Might's words echo in his head. He gathered all of his telekinetic power into mimicking his arm. Izuku channeled his inner All Might and thrust his fist forward with a resounding cry.

"SMASH!"

The effect was instantaneous. The zero-pointer reacted like it took an uppercut to the face. Its "chin" was crumbled along with most of its head. The force of the telekinetic impact managed to slightly lift the robot's front treads off the ground. Gravity finished the zero-pointer off as it fell on its backs.

After that resounding super move, Izuku fell down, only saving himself by his knees and elbows. His whole body ached and his mind felt clouded fighting through the exhaustion. He barely heard the girl getting free of the rubble and coming over to help him.

"Oh my god, are you okay?! Your nose is bleeding!" The girl's worried cries barely penetrated his ringing head. He brushed two fingers under his nose to find blood.

Oh, guess he was bleeding.

Izuku shakily stood up.

"I'm fine," Izuku tried to assure the girl he saved. "Are-are you okay?"

Izuku's vision got clearer as he saw the girl sitting with one foot extended in the air.

"I think I sprained my ankle," The girl answered. "What about you? That nosebleed looks serious."

"I'm fine," Izuku repeated. "Is the exam still going?"

"Actually, it finished after you knocked down the zero-pointer. That was pretty impressive, by the way."

Izuku weakly smiled. "Thanks."

"Can you help carry me over to the medics?" The girl nervously asked Izuku. If he had a clear head right then, he would have frozen up in hormonal embarrassment about carrying a girl. But he was so numb out of his mind, he didn't care.

Before he could make a move, an elderly voice called out to them.

Both teens turned to see a small old woman in a mixture of medical gear and a superhero suit. Izuku, even with his very exhausted brain, recognized her as the Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl.

"Hello, sweeties," Recover Girl talked like they were two of her grandchildren. She opened a case and pulled out two cotton-like rods. She turned to Izuku. "Here. Uses these to plug up that awful nosebleed of yours."

Izuku dutifully obeyed her orders and stuck to the rods in each nostril. Only now, did he get a look of how much blood dripped off his face and onto the ground. At least he didn't absolutely stain his clothes like when he first got his powers.

"Hold still, dear," Recovery Girl advised as her lips puffed in an enormous size and kissed Izuku. If he was still mentally all there, he would have freaked out. But now, and with his already low stamina being even more drained all of a sudden, he really didn't react and was lucky to be still up on his feet.

"What did you do?" The girl asked.

"It's part of my Quirk," Recover Girl explained. "My kisses help accelerate the body's natural healing process. It does take the body's stamina to do so, however. So that young man is going to be tired after a while.

Even dazed in exhaustion, Izuku's brain was already making notes as the fog in his brain was starting to clear up.

"And what about you, dearie?" Recovery Girl asked the girl Izuku saved.

"Oh, my ankle's hurt. I think I sprained it." The girl explained. "Also, I'm a bit woozy from using my Quirk."

"Let me see that ankle."

The girl maneuvered the injured part over to Recovery Girl. The heroine used her Quirk on the girl, which offered more of a reaction from the girl than Izuku did. Nevertheless, after a few seconds, the girl could now walk on both feet.

"Young man, if you would please," Recovery Girl held out her hand. Izuku pulled out the two rods, now soaked in blood, and gave them to the heroine. Feeling around his nose, he was glad to have stopped bleeding, but was annoyed about the caked blood that remained in his nostrils.

"And before you go," Recovery Girl dug into one of her pouches and pulled out some snacks. "Here are some gummies for being such good children. They'll help recovery your energy and taste great too."

Both Izuku and the girl ate the snacks as told. They both felt their energy come back to them. They waved Recovery Girl goodbye as they made it back out of the site.

"Hey," Izuku turned to face the girl as they were walking side by side. "Thanks for helping me out back there. Even if the teachers wouldn't let us get too hurt, it was still a nice thing to do."

Izuku blushed and starched the back of his head. "It wasn't nothing, really. I kinda just moved on my own. And besides what I did wasn't even that impressive."

"Yes, it was!" The girl refutes. "You took out the zero-pointer on your own! That's amazing!" A pause. "Even if you got that nasty nosebleed for it, though."

"Yeah, it's a drawback of my Quirk." Izuku admitted. "If I overuse it, I get those nosebleeds. It doesn't hurt, but I guess it is pretty gross."

"What is your Quirk, if you don't mind me asking?"

"It's telekinesis. I generate a field in which I can move stuff around and throw it. My mom has something similar, but it's not as strong. What about yours? You mentioned something about being woozy?"

"Oh, so you know how I saved you from falling on your face earlier?" Izuku nodded, still embarrassed about tripping in the first place. "Well, my Quirk allows me to cancel gravity in anything I touch with all five fingers."

She showed her hand, which had a bean-like growth on each finger and thumb.

"The queasiness is a side effect of my Quirk," the girl shifted in embarrassment. "I have a weight limit on how many things I can float with my Quirk. If I go over that limit, I throw up. That's pretty gross."

The two lightly laughed off their common embarrassing side-effects of Quirk usage. They were near the entrance.

"Hey, we're here!" The girl exclaimed. She was about to dash off to regroup with everyone else when Izuku called out to her.

"Hey!" She turned and looked at him. Now or never. "What's…what's your name?"

"Uraraka," She answered. "Ochaco Uraraka."

"My, my name's Midoriya," Izuku stammered out an answer. "Izuku Midoriya."

Ochaco smiled. "Nice to meet you, Midoriya. Hope we both get in!"

Izuku smiled back. He really wished they both got in.

It was one week after the Entrance Exam. Izuku had been feverously awaiting and dreading this day. Sure, UA announced that test results would come in after a week, but it was agonizing to wait. And Izuku, being the worried, anxious teen he was, speculated on all the possible scenarios that could happen.

Did he get in? What if he didn't get any points? Would the destruction of the zero-pointer make him lose points since that was supposed to be an obstacle? What if he didn't get in the Hero course? What if he was in the General Courses?

Okay, that one wasn't as bad. Sure, it wasn't the course to be a Hero like his childhood dream, but the General Course could teach him to apply his talents in other places in life. Like being a salaryman.

On second thought, Izuku definitely hoped he did not get in the General Course.

Izuku was sitting on the couch, mindlessly flipping through channels while scrolling through social media. The door to his apartment opened, and his mother came in with a smile on her face.

"Izuku! You have a letter!" His mother called out to him.

The boy turned and took the letter. His mother came to sit next to him on the couch. The letter was standard looking as any other professional letter in Japan, only this one had the UA seal on it. Izuku tore the letter and dug inside it. Instead of a paper, Izuku pulled out…a disc?

It was an impressive disc, but it didn't look like anything that could be plugged into his phone or computer. After fumbling around, the disc came to life and a holographic version of All Might appeared.

"I am here!" The miniature All Might announced. "As a recording!"

Izuku stared, dumb founded. What was All Might doing there?

"I bet your wondering why I'm presenting your scores?" Holo-All Might said. "To tell you the truth, besides my regular Hero patrols, I am offering my wisdom and experience to future generations of Heroes. That's right, you're looking at one of the new members of UA's faculty!"

Izuku already knew about All Might's teaching job, but it still felt unreal to hear it. Plus, Izuku was starting to notice that All Might might have been reading from a script. Didn't make it any less awesome.

"And personally, I'm so proud of what you've become. All that you achieved in such a short time," All Might sounded sincere. "You've gone a long way from that kid I meet nearly a year ago. I'm glad I met you, Izuku Midoriya."

Okay, Izuku wasn't afraid to admit he teared up at that.

"Hm? What's that?" All Might turned to see someone off-screen. "We're on a time limit? Okay, okay, I'll hurry it up."

All Might returned to face Izuku.

"On to your scores! For the written exam, you have scored a 93.7%! One of the highest scores this year! Congratulations!"

Izuku couldn't stop his mom from hugging him in joy. Still, he didn't push away from it.

"Now, onto the practical exam! You earned a total of 27 Villain points. On their own, this would have barely gotten you out of the general course."

Izuku's high had tumbled down. He didn't even realize his score that low. Sure, he gotten into the school of his dreams, but his future as a Hero was dangling over a foggy edge.

"But this is not where your story ends!" The Hologram All Might interrupted "Take a look at this!"

A second screen appeared alongside All Might. It showed recorded footage of Izuku running in and trying to save Uraraka. It then cut to him taking down the zero-pointer by himself. Meanwhile, All Might continued.

"A true Hero does more than take down Villains! They must also have the drive to protect and save their fellow man! And we at UA are always looking for that kind of quality within our students. After all, what kind of Hero school would neglect one of the fundamentals of heroism? For that, we have a panel of judges that distribute Rescue Points for heroic actions. And you, Izuku Midoriya, have earned 48 rescue points!"

A flashing 48 appeared on the screen next to All Might, as the screen transferred to the top ten candidates of the Entrance Exam. Izuku was seated in second place, right under Kacchan, who had 77 villain points and 0 rescue points. If that wasn't impressive, then Izuku didn't know what.

"With your total combined score, you not only got in, but you passed with flying colors!" All Might prasied the young boy. "Stand proud, Izuku Midoriya, for you have proven yourself to walk these halls of Heroes. Welcome to your Hero academia."

The Midoriya household was filled with cheers and tears from both mother and son. A dream that not so long ago felt impossible, was a reality. It was as big of a celebration as they could get. Dinner was served with katsudon, Izuku's favorite meal. After everything, Izuku went to bed that night proud and full of hope at what the future might bring.

"Plus Ultra," Izuku thought as he drifted off to sleep.

That's the chapter. Thanks to everyone who favorited, followed, and left reviews. I'm glad those who voiced their opinion on last chapter did so with respect, which any author heavily appreciates. As for the suggestions, I took some down, while others I haven't gave much thought. Mainly because I haven't thought that far ahead to really decide yet.

Anyway, I'm going to take a break on writing this week. I've got something for school that I need to spend my free writing time on, so I hope you understand. Still, I am appreciative of those who stick around.

I was conflicted about the score. I know it's a popular trope to let Izuku get the number one spot in stories where he gets a new power, but I'd thought it'd be different to see him almost succeed. I mean, he got a higher score than canon, but I can see where some people might not like that. This is still my story, and my story involves Izuku not being perfect with his powers or himself. Though time may tell a different tale…

Anyways, that's all I've got. See ya next time!
