The next morning, an airship from Atlas was flying into Beacon airspace which surprised Professor Ozpin. He had not heard anything from James Ironwood saying that he was coming to visit Beacon, nor did he have anything to report to James, so why was he and his fleet here? Also why did his fleet need to come with him everywhere he went? Ozpin didn't know but he saw that Glynda was walking up to him at the window.
"Ironwood certainly loves to bring his work with him wherever he goes." Glynda said in annoyance, whereas Ozpin cut him some slack.
"Well, running an academy and a military at the same time makes him a busy man. You are right though; those ships are a bit of an eyesore." Ozpin said as the ship landed and heard his receiver beeping.
"Come in!" Ozpin said to the door as it opened and revealed not one but two people. One of them was indeed General James Ironwood, decked out in his military uniform and walking with poise and comfort. The other was a woman that neither Ozpin nor Glynda had seen before. She was about Glynda's height and age, and she was decked out in an all-black combat suit that did have some jewelry on it. Finally, she had snow white hair, similar to the Schnee's but there was a bit of shine that came with it.
"Ozpin, good to see you! And Glynda, it has been a little while hasn't it?" Ironwood said warmly.
"Yes general, it is good to see you as well, but I do not believe we have met before miss." Ozpin said to the newcomer.
"A pleasure to meet you Professor Ozpin, my name is Agent Sindel Diamond. I have been in the Atlas military for a few years and have gotten permission to form my own unit. It is not a permanent one yet, more of an emergency you could say, which is why we came here." The woman now known as Sindel said calmly.
"You see Ozpin, the council in Atlas saw fit to make Sindel's unit consist of talented students to give them experience in the real world. Sindel has been given permission to select those who she sees fit, though the council persists that most of them be from Atlas. We have gotten 4 from Atlas, 3 from Vacuo and seeing as though Beacon is the top ranked school, we need one from you all. That is, if you accept this proposition?" James asked Ozpin who nodded.
"Yes James that does sound like a fine idea, giving a certain hunter the opportunity to get some action on their own, seeing as though teams may not go on every mission together after graduation. I would be opposed if it was long term, but if it at most two weeks then that is fine by me. What do you think Glynda?" Ozpin asked his Deputy Headmistress and she nodded as well to their surprise.
"I have to agree with you sir, I too would have concerns if this took a long period of time, seeing as though it would hurt team dynamic. However, the majority of two weeks is virtually nothing at all, it would be like a work vacation. Here agent Diamond, this shows footage of the students we have, as well as the ability to see what year they are. I assume you will want second or third years." Glynda said as she gave the tablet to Sindel, who nodded appreciatively.
"Thank you Professor Goodwitch, I am very happy that you two have agreed to my program. I will just take a look then." Sindel said as she looked through the videos on the tablet.
It had taken Sindel about 10 minutes to go through candidates on the tablet, she had a lot of them showing that Beacon really had the best students. All the students she saw had incredibly good skills and fighting prowess, making them a valuable addition to her unit. She was almost done until she saw a huntress in training at a shooting range, hitting headshot after headshot. The girl got a perfect score not just one day, but apparently two days in a row! Sindel's jaw dropped, none of the students she had selected so far had that kind of precision, and no other candidate on that tablet had it either. She had to get this girl for her unit.
"Excuse me Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch, but who is this girl?" Sindel asked in amazement.
"Oh, that is Ruby Rose the leader of Team RWBY, she is in her second semester and was admitted to Beacon two years early." Ozpin answered while the general and special agent looked shocked.
"You say that she is only in her second semester? And she was admitted two years early? Definitely shows." Sindel says even more intrigued, which Glynda saw.
"Agent Diamond, you aren't thinking about selecting Ruby Rose, are you? She is only a first year!" Glynda said in worry and disbelief.
"She sure as hell doesn't shoot like one, I can tell you that. I need someone like her, of the students selected so far none have had the precision that she has. However, I will not force her to join and she decline if she does not want to be a part of my unit. Please Professor, could you call her down here?" Sindel asked Glynda who looked concerned but was assured by Ozpin.
"This could be good for her Glynda, she might even get some new tips on her to better lead her team. You know how skilled she is, this experience can even further her skills. It is only two weeks; her team can live without her for that long." Ozpin told Glynda and James nodded his head as well.
"Glynda, Ozpin has a point; this girl Ruby is incredible just look at her go on this shooting range. But she needs to be using those skills on Grimm and criminals, not moving targets. It is only two weeks, she seems like the kind of girl that will work hard and gain experience, making her a better huntress in the end. And like Agent Diamond said, it is all up to her we will not force anything." Ironwood said to Glynda who looked a bit troubled.
If she was being perfectly honest, Glynda was a bit worried about Ruby Rose. The girl's attitude had taken a major change when it came to her team and Team JNPR. Then there was the new clothes and combat style, giving the girl better options when it came to close combat. Things with her team seemed shaky though and Glynda really didn't know why. She feared that by allowing Ruby to be a part of Sindel's temporary unit, things with her team would worsen. But this experience would be good for Ruby as a huntress, which was the goal for attending Beacon. Because of this, Glynda knew she had to approve.
"Alright…this experience will help Ruby in the end. Here I will see what class she is in and I will use the intercom to call her up here." Glynda said as she took the tablet back from Sindel who nodded in appreciation.
Meanwhile back in Doctor Oobleck's classroom, Ruby Rose was sitting in an aisle opposite of where her team was sitting, waiting for Oobleck to come in so class could start. She really wanted nothing to do with her team, besides training together since they had that Vytal festival coming up in a few months. Other than that, she could care less about what they did, same with team JNPR. She didn't buy any of that crap they were saying about how they wanted to hang out, a teacher probably forced them to say that or something. Either way, her life was all about her and being on her own felt good.
The WBY and JNPR felt the opposite however, they had been worried about Ruby. Whatever she was mad about, was it really worth acting like this? Acting like she didn't care about them at all and that life was better when she didn't talk to them? It really hurt and some were starting to get really sad, like Yang for example. Ruby was her sister and for the first time in her life the girl wanted nothing to do with her, it really hurt her to the core. The two teams were sitting on adjacent rows and were talking to each other.
"Has there been any luck with Ruby?" Nora asked hopefully.
"Sadly, there hasn't been any luck, we tried to get her to come with us to the carnival in Vale after school, but she refused. She said that she had plans of her own and that we should go on without her, we tried to change her mind, but she wasn't having it." Blake said sadly.
"I just do not know what is going on with her, she used to be so happy and now she barely speaks." Yang said as she lowered her head.
"When she beat me in class earlier in the week, I told Ruby that she did a good job and praised her, but it's like she didn't care at all. She just told me the same with little emotion and just walked away." Pyrrha said dejectedly.
"Look guys, we can worry about Ruby later right now we have to focus on class. If that last test was anything to go by, things are starting to heat up." Weiss said seriously and they all nodded. They could always use the weekend to figure out how to solve this thing with Ruby.
A few minutes later, Doctor Oobleck came racing in the door with a stack of papers, no doubt they were the tests they had taken earlier in the week. Oobleck was a really fast grader, probably because of all the coffee he drank. Speaking of which, he filled up his mug from his coffee maker and began his lecture soon after.
"Alright class, I have graded your exams and I must say some of you did really well while the others should think seriously about coming to my office hours. There was one student who stood up above all the others though, getting a score of 99 on the test. Such a feat is rare when it comes to my exams so I was very impressed!" Oobleck said happily while his students were shocked.
"Whoa a 99? Who could have done that?" Jaune asked and everyone wondered the same thing, though Weiss was smirking to herself. She knew that it had to be her thanks to academic skills and all the studying she did. She was not prepared for what was going to come out of Oobleck's mouth though…
"The student that got the highest grade is none other than Miss Ruby Rose! Miss Rose, come claim your well-deserved grade!" Doctor Oobleck said in a proud manner.
The other students did not know what shocked them more, the fact that Ruby Rose had gotten the highest grade or the fact that she didn't even look happy as she got it. They were expecting her to run down the stairs with a smile on her face, leaving rose petals behind. Instead, she calmly got up from her seat and trailed down the steps as she made her way to Oobleck, no smile at all.
The WBY and Team JNPR had their jaws on the floor, they couldn't believe it. Ruby had gotten the top grade?! She was two years younger than them for God's sake! She shouldn't be making those kinds of grades considering she did not have as much knowledge as the others did. Weiss was angry because she did not get the top spot and Ruby had somehow. She wondered if the girl had cheated in some way, because there was no way Ruby was smart enough to get that high a grade.
"Congratulations Miss Rose!" Oobleck said happily.
"Thank you Doctor Oobleck." Ruby said as she bowed in gratitude and was about to head back to her seat until something came over the intercom.
"Ruby Rose, please report to Professor Ozpin's office." Glynda Goodwitch said over the intercom.
Ruby was confused, what did Professor Ozpin want? Did she do something wrong? Rather than think about it any longer she went to grab her bag and then walked out of the door. This left the other students to start chatting and ultimately making rumors about Ruby being in trouble. The WBY and Team JNPR were worried though, what exactly did Ruby do to make Ozpin want to see her in his office?
"Wh-what do you guys think she did?" Yang asked her friends as she was terrified about her sister.
"I don't know Yang, maybe she really did cheat on the test? I mean there is no way Ruby could get a grade that high on a test she is two years behind!" Weiss said and the others glared at her.
"Ruby isn't a cheater Weiss." Blake said sternly.
"Then what could she have been called for?!" Weiss shot back.
"Enough! If all of you students have the energy to talk you have the energy to listen, let's begin the lecture." Oobleck said as he got control of the situation.
Ruby walked to Ozpin's office, very unsure of why she was even going there in the first place. She had not done anything wrong, at least to her knowledge. For the love of God, she hoped that none of her teammates had complained to Ozpin about her behavior and that was the reason why she was going to see him. It wasn't that serious, and they should be happy that she is leaving them alone, considering that is what they wanted after all.
Ruby finally got to Ozpin's office and walked through the door to see Ozpin, Professor Goodwitch, and two people she had not met before. Though the man looked familiar and she knew they had to be from Atlas, the uniform had it written all over it.
"You wanted to see me Professor Ozpin?" Ruby questioned, getting straight to the point.
"Yes, hello Miss Rose, I wanted to introduce you to General James Ironwood and Special Agent Sindel Diamond. They have an offer they would like to talk to you about." Ozpin said as he gestured to the two Atlesians in front of him.
"It is a pleasure Ruby, I have heard great things about you." General Ironwood said impressed.
"Oh, thank you General, it is an honor to meet you. You as well, Special Agent Diamond." Ruby said, she couldn't believe this was happening.
"Respectful I like that, anyway as you know I am Special Agent Sindel Diamond. What you don't know is that I have recently been permitted to create my own temporary unit. This unit will be a mix of intelligence and grimm hunting, people within this unit will complete missions assigned to them by the Atlas military and/or council. The council has said that this unit should be made of students from all over the academies, considering it is temporary. What I mean by temporary is that whenever we are needed, the members are called in from whatever school they are a part of. The missions take at most two weeks, and then members will go back to their schools on standby. Ruby, I want you to be a part of my unit." Sindel said seriously to Ruby who just looked shocked.
"I must admit, when I first came to Beacon, I thought I was going to make this pitch to a third year until I saw this." Sindel said as she showed the video of Ruby at the shooting range.
"I mean look at you go, it's like second nature for you. Switching guns and it doesn't matter, you are still hitting headshot after headshot. You have mad skills…but you should be shooting at Grimm and criminals instead of targets. Look Ruby, if you join my unit I can give you experience as a huntress, which is valuable to a student like you. You can use that experience to help better your team and your reputation here at Beacon. But I am not going to force you, the decision is up to you." Sindel stated as she waited calmly for Ruby's answer.
"That sounds incredible, I accept Agent Diamond, I would love to be apart of your unit." Ruby said quickly, which surprised the occupants in the room.
Most people would at least think for a few moments before accepting an offer such as this, but Ruby was not most people. This unit was everything that she wanted, to be a huntress while helping people along the way. This unit would give her some experience in the real world, there was so much that she could do in the shooting range or in the training rooms. Not to mention that she could use a break from Beacon, especially after what happened with her team.
That was another reason why she was accepting Sindel's offer, Ruby was perfectly fine with not having to deal with her team for two weeks. Two weeks free from Weiss' nagging, Blake's emo-ness, and Yang's nonsense sounded like paradise to her. Plus, they would benefit from this too considering they didn't want anything to do with her anyway. She just hoped that Weiss would not throw a fit when she found out that Ruby was recruited and not her.
"Well…THAT was easy. And here I was forming up a supporting pitch, thank you for accepting Miss Rose. The first mission starts tomorrow, so you will need to go pack your things and meet both the General and I at our airship. Once we are in the air, I will give you details on living arrangements and the mission itself. For now, you should head back to your quarters and pack everything you need for two weeks, you students are allowed free time so bring comfortable clothes as well. Any questions?" Sindel asked, happy that Ruby accepted her offer.
"No Agent Diamond, everything was crystal clear. Thank you so much for this opportunity!" Ruby said happily as General Ironwood and Professor Ozpin came up to her.
"I am happy you accepted Ruby, I know that you will do great things with Sindel and the rest of her team." Ironwood said happily.
"I expect great things to come out of this Miss Rose, be sure to learn a lot and gain experience so you can show us all when you return." Ozpin said seriously but smiled all the same.
"Thank you, Professor Ozpin and General Ironwood, I will not let you down. Well, I am off to pack so I will see you both at the airship field." Ruby said as she turned to leave but was stopped by Professor Goodwitch's voice.
"Before you do Miss Rose, may I have a word with you in my office? You are not in trouble; I just wish to speak." Glynda asked and Ruby just nodded her head, wondering what Goodwitch wanted.
Ruby had never really known the professor to be talkative, all she really seemed to care about was what was happening in combat class or in Beacon in general. Not to mention the woman was incredibly strict, so students really didn't view her as a favorite among professors at Beacon. If Ruby had to guess, she was going to be lectured about something and was already mentally preparing herself for it. Nevertheless, she followed Professor Goodwitch to her office after bidding farewell to Professor Ozpin, General Ironwood and Special Agent Diamond.
After walking for a few minutes, Ruby and Glynda finally arrived at her office and were proceeding to sit down at her desk. If Ruby was being completely honest, she was very nervous about this situation. What could possibly have happened for Glynda Goodwitch to bring Ruby to her office to talk to her about something that apparently could not be said in front of Professor Ozpin or General Ironwood? It made Ruby twitch a little, which Glynda saw and decided to begin her talk.
"Like I said before Miss Rose, you are not in trouble. I just want to talk, I promise you that is all." Glynda reassured her student and saw Ruby relax a little.
"OK then, how can I help you Professor Goodwitch?" Ruby asked a bit more composed now as Glynda stared at her for a few seconds before continuing.
"Well Miss Rose I wanted to start off by saying that your combat skills have improved, and you showed it very clearly in your match against Miss Nikos. You will no doubt be a valuable asset to Special Agent Diamond's unit." Glynda praised.
"Thank you, Professor, I try my best." Ruby said, a bit shocked at the praise she just got. Goodwitch rarely praised anyone.
"You are welcome Miss Rose, but there has been something that has been bothering me about you. Ruby, do you remember last Friday when I asked you about the whereabouts of your teammates? You rolled your eyes in an annoyed manner and gave your answer in a non-caring way. I thought you did that because you were exhausted but lately I have noticed some tension between you and your team." Glynda said and saw Ruby shift uncomfortably.
'Dammit, how the hell did Goodwitch figure it out? Usually she never cares about what happens outside the classroom." Ruby thought in a perplexed expression which Goodwitch noticed.
"I have been a huntress and a teacher for many years Miss Rose, I can pick up on these kinds of things extremely fast. Not to mention you have a done a terrible job of hiding it Miss Rose. You don't come to class with your team, your new attitude and combat style, and the fact that you aren't with your team once classes end. And now, you accepted an offer to a unit in Atlas without even hesitating or thinking about your team. So I must ask again, is there anything wrong Miss Rose?" Glynda asked Ruby, hoping to get a clearer answer than before.
Ruby just looked down, pondering her options. Should she tell Professor Goodwitch what happened? She really did not want to waste her time with this, considering nothing was going to change. However, if she didn't say anything Ruby had the fear Goodwitch would call her father or Uncle Qrow and they would have to get involved in this, which she really did not want. The last thing she needed was one of those two coming to Beacon and embarrassing her over some stupid stuff that happened. Glynda saw Ruby contemplating her thoughts and became concerned, so she walked across the table and placed her hand on Ruby's shoulder.
"Miss Rose, I assure that I take teacher-student confidentiality very seriously. Believe me when I say that whatever you say in this room, STAYS in this room. Please allow me to help you and relieve you of any concerns that you may have." Glynda said seriously as Ruby looked up.
"Do you really mean that?" Ruby asked and Glynda nodded seriously.
"I swear Miss Rose, now please tell me what is wrong." Glynda reassured and Ruby just sighed.
Ruby took out her scroll and opened up her recording's application, then she scrolled down a bit and hit play on a recording. Glynda was confused at first until she heard what was on the recording and her eyes widened. She couldn't believe what she was hearing, but it sounded like the members of Team JNPR and the remaining members of Team RWBY were badmouthing Ruby Rose. Clearly it was done in secret, but Ruby had heard everything. She could not imagine how the girl was feeling right now, now her new attitude made a whole lot of sense.
Glynda had to admit, she was extremely disappointed in the other students. All of them had many faults, but you didn't see Ruby calling them out about it, she just accepted them and still tried to be friendly with them. Glynda also thought that they were being hypocritical and petty, focusing on Ruby's bad habits and not focusing on the things she did well. Though she said that this would be confidential, she really wanted to go give those students a piece of her mind. The recording had stopped, and Ruby had put the scroll back in her pocket.
"Miss Rose…when was this?" Glynda asked shocked.
"Last Friday, a few hours before you and I bumped into each other in the hallway." Ruby said sadly.
"I see…so that is why you looked annoyed and upset that night." Glynda said and Ruby just nodded.
"You know Professor Goodwitch, when we started this team, I was just so in it. I was so committed to making team RWBY the best team at Beacon, but I guess things change. If this is how they really feel about me, then I shouldn't care about their opinions or their input. Look the bottom line is Weiss always does the most in putting me down, nothing I ever do will be good enough for her. Blake will always just see me as the annoying girl who disturbs her reading time, and Yang will always just see me as her little sister who has no friends or social skills." Ruby said as she looked down but looked back up again with determination.
"Having said that, I won't let it get to me. I came here to be a huntress, not to be the girl that everyone likes. If they have a problem with me that is fine, all they need to do is train with me as a team, then they can go do whatever they want. That is the reason why I accepted Special Agent Diamond's offer into her unit, I can't just wait around for their opinion of me to change. Sometimes, I am going to have to do what is best for me and my career as a huntress, that was one of those times. Look, is Weiss ever going to let it go that I am the leader and she isn't? I don't know. Will Blake ever open up to me or the team? I hope but I can't say for sure. And will Yang get over this garbage of hers? God I hope so, but I can't just sit on my hands waiting for that to happen. Does that make sense Professor Goodwitch?" Ruby asked her teacher who just stared at her.
If Glynda was being honest, Ruby just proved them all wrong about her maturity with what she just said. Ruby could have been crying and moping around at what her team said about her, but here she was just trying to be a better huntress. Her attitude was greatly understood now, considering that her friends pretty much wanted nothing to do with her. She changed her mind about her concerns with Ruby joining that unit. Perhaps it would be beneficial for her to be in a new environment and meet new people, and maybe her absence will get the WBY and Team JNPR some perspective on what they did.
"It makes total sense Miss Rose, and I am proud of how you are handling this. Most would start something or go on a violent rampage, but you are handling this in a mature way, like an actual huntress. The rest of your team are going to have to learn to accept your faults just like you accept theirs, and I think some time apart will do that. Good luck on your assignment with this new unit Ruby, I know that you will do great things." Glynda said as she sent Ruby on her way.
"Thank you, Professor, see you in a couple of weeks!" Ruby said as she went out the door leaving Glynda to her thoughts. She knew that she was going to get another visit today…
Ruby got back to her dorm and opened the door to see her teammates look at her expectantly. She really did not need this right now, she just needed to pack her things and head towards the airship field. So that's what she did as she headed towards her drawers and grabbed her bag under her bed. She was rummaging through her clothes as she was interrupted by her sister.
"Ruby don't ignore us! What happened with Ozpin?!" Yang yelled angrily as her two teammates took up chorus.
"Yeah Ruby what did you do? Don't tell me you actually cheated on that test and that is how you got such a high grade on Oobleck's test." Weiss said accusingly as her eyes narrowed and Ruby turned around.
"OK first of all what happened doesn't concern any of you, so there is really no reason why you have to know. Secondly, no Weiss I did not cheat on that test sorry to disappoint you and your ego. Now if you all will excuse me; I have to pack." Ruby said annoyed as she turned to continue putting her things into her suitcase.
"Wait pack for what? Are you taking a trip or something?" Blake asked curiously as the other two members of the WBY wanted to know as well.
"Considering you all will not step pestering me until I tell you, fine I will tell you. I got recruited by Special Agent Sindel Diamond of Atlas. She is putting together a unit made up of 8 students from the four huntsman academies and I got selected. I leave in about 20 minutes so if you all could stop bothering me, I can get back to packing." Ruby said as she was trying to pack her suitcase, but the WBY looked stunned.
"Wait Ruby you can't leave! You are a member of our team!" Yang exclaimed, not wanting Ruby to go.
"It isn't forever Yang; it will only take two weeks at most." Ruby said while rolling her eyes.
"Are you telling me that you already accepted without telling us?!" Weiss said angrily.
"Well considering that she asked for Ruby and not Team RWBY, yes I did." Ruby said as she zipped up her suitcase and grabbed her scroll and proceeded to head out of the door.
"Ruby what the hell is going on with you? First you get a new attitude, then you treat us as some nuisances and now you are heading to be part of a unit without even considering us? What kind of leader are you? Do Ozpin and Goodwitch even know?" Blake asked angrily and her teammates were just as angry.
"I am just doing what you all wanted, and seeing as though you are big girls I think you can handle two weeks without me. And yes, Professor Goodwitch and Professor Ozpin signed off on it of course, they think it will be good for me. I came here to be a huntress, and this unit will give me experience that I have always dreamed of. If you three don't like it, go complain to Professor Goodwitch and Professor Ozpin about it. I have an airship to catch, see you later." Ruby gave the peace sign as she walked out of the room leaving the WBY stunned.
They were getting angrier and more concerned about Ruby; it was as if she was a completely different person. First, she is a hyper enthusiastic girl who loves weapons and cookies, and now she is quiet and could care less about her team. The girls admitted they hadn't spent much time with Ruby due to her age, but they didn't think it would cause her to act like this. How was it the girl had improved so much that an Agent of Atlas had their attention caught by Ruby? Weiss was a bit jealous of that fact, seeing as though she thought it should be her.
The main feeling that the WBY was feeling was sadness though, it felt like their team was about to fall apart because of Ruby's new attitude. They wondered what they could do to make everything go back to normal, but first they needed answers. Who was this woman that had the unit that Ruby joined and why exactly was Ruby picked? Also, what was the real reason behind Ruby's new behavior. There were a lot of questions that needed answering.
"Let's head to Professor Goodwitch's office, if anyone can give us some answer's about Ruby it's her." Yang said seriously and the other two nodded, then they went to Goodwitch's office.
Ruby was walking to the airship as she had retrieved Crescent Rose from her locker. She was very excited; she was going to get a break from Beacon and do a mission as a real huntress! Not to mention she was going to get a break from her team which was desperately needed. She got closer to the airship and saw General James Ironwood and Special Agent Sindel Diamond waiting for her with smiles on their faces.
"Hello Miss Rose, all packed?" Sindel asked.
"Yes Ma'am! Ready to go, but where am I going to be staying? In the Atlas Academy Dorms?" Ruby questioned.
"Haha no, we have special rooms at a hotel for each of you, seeing as though Atlas Academy is packed." Sindel laughed.
"Well if we are all ready to go, let's get on board." Ironwood said as the three got on the ship.
Ruby was amazed by the interior of this airship; it was the fanciest thing she had ever been on. There were comfortable chairs, a fridge, a flatscreen TV and it looked like a butler was on it as well. The only airship she was on were the common ones, and they didn't even have seats! Needless to say, she was very impressed and felt humbled to even be on it.
"This is incredible…" Ruby said as she sat across General Ironwood and Agent Diamond.
"I am glad you like it, now for the details of the mission…." Sindel began her debrief.
Glynda Goodwitch was doing work in her office as she saw the airships take off. She was still worried about Ruby but knew that this was something she had to do. The experience that she would gain from being in that unit was priceless, there was no doubt it would make her a better huntress. She also felt that Ruby did need some time away from her team if that recording was anything to go by. She felt her anger burn up again until her scroll beeped that someone was outside.
"Come in." Glynda said as the WBY entered her office, looking angry and concerned.
"Miss Schnee, Miss Belladona, and Miss Xiao Long, what can I do for you today?" Glynda asked, though she had a good guess for what this was about.
"Professor Goodwitch we need to talk to you about Ruby, she said that she accepted an offer to be apart of an Atlas unit? She didn't even consider us when accepting! Why did you let her go?!" Yang asked angrily.
"It's not only that Professor, Ruby has had this new attitude and it is very bad, she treats us like we are annoyances and that we committed some horrible act. You are very observant so I know you have seen, so why haven't you done anything about it?" Weiss asked as she wanted to know why Ruby wasn't punished.
"They are right Professor Goodwitch, why did you not come to us about Ruby's new attitude or even tell us that she was recruited? Aren't the teams supposed to know when their leader does something like that?" Blake asked as Glynda just looked at all of them.
"You know, I had the same concerns as you all. What could have possibly happened to make Ruby so distant towards her team and act so cold? Usually she is a ball of energy and has a smile that is similar to sunshine. But now she barely speaks a word and she treats her team like they are the most irritating people on Remnant. After she accepted the offer, I brought her here to ask her about her new attitude and why there was so mention between you all and her. Then she played this for me, and everything made sense…" Glynda said as she hit a button on her tablet to show the recording app and played a recording.
The WBY were confused until they heard the recording and their hearts stopped. It was a recording of last Friday night, when they were in Team JNPR's room talking bad about Ruby. Ruby had apparently heard everything, which greatly explained her new attitude and it made the WBY sick to their stomachs. Ruby had heard everything, and now she was giving them what they apparently wanted, for her to leave them alone. Tears flooded the WBY's eyes, how were they going to face Ruby after this?
Author Notes:
This will be longer than 2 chapters lol. Ruby got offered an incredible opportunity, and now the WBY know that she heard everything that night. How will the WBY and Team JNPR make this up to her? Is Ruby going to want to make up? What mission is so important that a unit had to be created? Find out next time, review and comment.
