Sindel, Litchi and the rest of their unit walked outside the mines and proceeded to the field so the airships could pick them up. Their next order of business was to get to the work area that they would be gathering intelligence at as well as going over debriefs for whatever missions they get. Sindel also wanted to get them to the Atlas lab so they could get familiar with the identification technology for whenever they identified culprits in cases. This unit was not some half-assed one, General Ironwood was putting a lot of faith in them but Sindel knew they could handle it.
The group got outside and was surprised to see General Ironwood and a woman who resembled Ruby's partner greatly. Now that Ruby thought about it, Weiss had never really talked with her or her team about her family, she probably thought they didn't need to know about them. Well, it wasn't her problem anymore, but she did wonder what General Ironwood was doing here and how he showed up so conveniently after their mission. Ruby was snapped out of her thoughts when Sindel started speaking to the group.
"Well, it seems that we have a surprise visit. I wonder what this could be about, anyway Litchi and I will go speak with General Ironwood. You all just remain here for the time being ok?" Sindel told her team who nodded.
While Sindel and Litchi went to speak with the general, the students chatted amongst themselves. A lot of the talk had to do with them finishing their first mission and somehow, they did it with ease and without injury. It honestly surprised a lot of them, some of them had been nervous before starting but seeing how they worked so well together, there was nothing to worry about. Ruby turned her attention back to Sindel and Litchi chatting with Ironwood and was again wondering who that other woman was. Also, why were there soldiers here?
"Holy crap it's like Weiss evolved…" Ruby said looking at the woman and heard Mira laughing.
"Haha you are close, but that is Winter Schnee, Weiss' sister and the oldest of the Schnee children. She is the deputy under General Ironwood." Mira said factually and Ruby widened her eyes.
"Schnee children? Oh God, I was so foolish to think that there was only one." Ruby said in despair.
"Yeah, there is Weiss, Winter and their brother Whitley, who as you may have guessed is a spoiled brat and an annoyance." Mira groaned to which Ruby did the same.
"Doesn't surprise me one bit considering how Weiss has acted in the time I have known her. Still, I wonder why General Ironwood is here in the first place. Was he really anticipating the outcome of our mission?" Ruby wondered and the rest of the students thought the same thing.
Sindel and Litchi both walked up to General Ironwood and Winter Schnee to gain some insight as to why they were here. If Sindel was being quite honest she was not that fond of Winter Schnee, considering the woman had a very stiff personality and a high opinion of herself. Not to mention that they were in the military together early on and it was hard to work with her considering her high standards. These feelings were not allowed to come out when speaking with the general however, so she decided to get on with it.
"General Ironwood, I wasn't expecting you to be here when we walked out of the mines. To what do we owe the pleasure?" Sindel asked kindly.
"Well Agent Diamond, I wanted to come see for myself the efforts and outcome of your new unit! And considering that all the students seem to be uninjured and those two boys are carrying sacks that look like they are full of the dust we need; I would say it was a success!" Ironwood said heartily.
"You are correct General Ironwood, the mission went off without a hitch and we had no injuries, in fact these kids barely broke a sweat. Multiple Centinels were taken down and an Arma Gigas that we had no info on being in the cave is no more." Litchi said and Ironwood and Winter were shocked.
"Wait an Arma Gigas?! You all took that down without anyone sustaining injuries? How did you all manage to do that?!" Winter asked in pure bewilderment and Sindel chuckled.
"Actually Winter, we didn't actually do anything, it was the students. Mr. Dreyar used his unique lightning semblance to detach the dust from the Gigas' body, stunning it for a short window. Thanks to Miss Rose's precision and Mr. Katsuki's explosive impact, they were able to combine attacks dousing the Gigas into a wall of fire. After that we gathered all of the dust that was left over in the mine and called this mission a success." Sindel stated proudly.
"Haha, well done! It seems these kids aren't pushovers; they are valuable additions to your new unit. Sindel you really outdid yourself when you chose these students, come I would like to congratulate them myself." General Ironwood commanded and they all went back to the students.
Winter followed them but was still shocked from then information that was just given to her. When she first heard of Sindel forming this unit, she thought it was a joke. Why on Remnant would Ironwood and the military board give her the opportunity to create a unit when she hadn't held a position before? Also, what exactly did they expect a unit full of students to even do? Winter had thought it was pointless, but she had been proven severely wrong. If these kids could take on an Arma Gigas without much trouble, then they had bright futures ahead of them. Also, Sindel mentioned the name Rose, why did that sound so familiar?
Ruby was chatting with Akali and Shauna before her scroll buzzed and she took it out to see what was going on. It was another message from her Dad which she chose to ignore seeing as though it was most likely going to be about quitting the unit. If their first mission was anything to go by, Ruby would say that she was where she belonged. Ruby was able to show her skills in precision by taking down that Arma Gigas and showed her teamwork skills with Bakugo as without him that would not have been possible. She did wonder how she was going to get her Dad to let it go but her thoughts were interrupted by a nudge from Akali.
"Hey, heads up." Akali said motioning to General Ironwood and the others walking towards them. Ruby and the rest of the unit stood up straight and gave him their full attention.
"Attentive, I like that! I have heard about your success and I wanted to congratulate you all in person. When this unit was given the go to be created, the council had a lot of doubt that students could handle all of this pressure, but you proved them wrong on the first day. However, we need this kind of effort from you every day and when you are called back, alright? There are lot of things going on these days in Remnant, and we need to ensure both Atlas and Mantle are safe at all times. Is that understood?" Ironwood asked the students.
"Yes Sir!" The students said in unison.
"Good, now you all are going to be headed to the workspace in the Atlas military compound. There you will get situated and receive some things you will need while working in this unit. I will let Sindel tell you more as you get on the airship, but I wanted to let you know that you can always call on me or Specialist Schnee here for advice. That is all, you are the Intelligence Unit of Atlas, make us all proud." James said warmly.
"All right everyone to the airship, it's time we get situated and down to business." Sindel commanded and her unit nodded. They started walking to the airship when Ruby was stopped by Ironwood.
"Great work of your precision Miss Rose, Team RWBY is lucky to have you." General Ironwood praised and Ruby smiled.
"Thank you, General Ironwood, you honor me." Ruby said happily as she walked towards the ship but was now stopped by Winter Schnee.
"Did I hear correctly that you are a member of Team RWBY? The team that my sister is a part of?" Winter asked curiously.
"Yes, my name is Ruby Rose." Ruby said, not looking forward to this encounter.
"I see…so you are the leader she wrote of. How appropriately…. underwhelming." Winter said unimpressed and Ruby just glared.
'Bitch', Ruby thought angrily.
"Likewise, Specialist Schnee." Ruby said coldly and took some satisfaction in Winter's eyes narrowing.
"So Sindel selected you to be Beacon's representative in this unit, what exactly are your skills anyway?" Winter asked skeptically.
"Precision, tracking, tactical thinking, and as of recently, not taking any crap from a Schnee." Ruby said bluntly as Winter looked angry.
"Well, you certainly have a lot of nerve…" Winter growled, she wondered how Weiss survived being this girl's teammate.
"I have nothing but it, Specialist, but I do have an airship to get on so if you will you excuse me." Ruby said as she walked towards the airship and got on, leaving an angry Winter Schnee behind.
Winter could not believe that she had just been spoken to with so much insolence, so much disrespect by a teenager who was not even an actual huntress. Ruby Rose's behavior did not correlate with what Weiss had wrote about in the letters she sent. Weiss said that Ruby was an annoying and cheerful girl who bounced all over the place and had an obsession with cookies. That wasn't what she had just saw a few moments ago, you would think Ruby was an entirely different person. Winter would have to get in touch with Weiss to make sure she was doing alright, considering the interaction she just had with her leader.
Ruby got on the airship with a really angry expression that she did her best to hide. For months Weiss had been doing this crap where she had looked down on Ruby and blamed her for pretty much everything. Whether it was her grades, training gone wrong, or even for being sixteen years old, Ruby got the blame. And now, Weiss' sister was going to do the exact same thing and talk down to her? Yeah Ruby didn't think so, she was not going to be walked over by people with high opinions of themselves anymore. Ruby was putting her angry thoughts aside and noticed that Seth came up to her.
"Hey, everything ok? You seem kind of mad." Seth asked a bit worried and Ruby just smiled.
"Yeah, I'm good, just had to handle a bitch. Nothing major considering I deal with her sister all the time." Ruby assured and Seth just laughed.
"That's good, I like that you don't let anyone walk over you, it takes a lot of confidence. Also, I didn't get a chance to tell you before, but I like the long hair you have. That red and black plus the length makes you look like a Rockstar." Seth praised and Ruby just blushed.
"Wow thanks, you're the first guy that has ever complimented me like that." Ruby said trying to hide her fluster.
"Wait, really? I'm shocked I would figure someone as pretty as you would be getting compliments every day." Seth asked genuinely surprised and Ruby continued to blush.
"Yeah well, I guess Beacon guys are just lame compared to Haven ones." Ruby said chuckling and Seth did the same.
"Well that is a known fact, I am surprised you didn't already know that. Hey tomorrow we are not going in, you wanna grab some food on me?" Seth asked and Ruby widened her eyes.
"Yeah, that would be cool." Ruby said sweetly but in her mind, she was screaming.
"Sweet, I'll talk to you more about it later, but I think we are about to land." Seth said and Ruby nodded.
Sure enough, the airship had landed and Sindel had alerted everyone to get off and to follow her into the compound. She said that she would give instructions when they got inside the building and Ruby was ever so grateful. Ruby could not believe what just happened, a guy had asked her out! She never thought this would happen considering her people skills but apparently, they didn't matter. Seth was actually interested in her, and he thought she was pretty! If Ruby knew that this would be the outcome of her changing outfits and growing out her hair, she would have done this long ago. Suddenly a voice jolted her out of her thoughts.
"So…what were you and Seth talking about?" Mira asked curiously with a smirk on her face.
"Yeah Rose, you were talking with him the whole ride back, was it about the unit?" Akali said teasingly as she wrapped her arm around Ruby.
"Well whatever it was must have made her happy considering her face is as red as the streaks in her hair." Shauna said sweetly as Ruby got embarrassed.
"Let's…just focus on the task at hand." Ruby stated as she started power walking as the other girls started giggling.
Back at patch Taiyang Xiao Long was not having a very good morning, in fact it was one of the worse mornings he had in a while. He just got off the phone with his teammate and brother in law, Qrow Branwen, to talk about Ruby joining a unit and her new attitude. If anyone would know, it would be him but sadly he was just as surprised as Tai was. Tai was still reeling about the way Ruby spoke to him last night and how adamant she was about staying in that unit. How could she do something so irresponsible? She was only a first year at Beacon Academy, no matter how skilled she was that didn't mean she was ready to be in a unit. Tai groaned at the fact that Ruby was starting to show the Branwen blood in her.
Yes, it was true, Taiyang Xiao Long was not Ruby's biological father. That role belonged to Qrow Branwen but after Summer's disappearance and Qrow's fear of his semblance, it was decided that Tai would raise Ruby. It was a secret that neither of the two were going to take to their graves, as they decided they would tell the girls when they graduated from Beacon Academy. By then, they would be more mature and prepared to face the truth. When Tai thought about it, Ruby mostly showed Summer's traits and little tidbits of Qrow's here and there. Last night it was the complete opposite, it was like talking to a female version of Qrow, with all the sarcasm and bluntness.
Speaking of Ruby, Tai had tried to call her multiple times throughout the morning and even sent her some texts, but she had responded to neither one. She must really be focused on the mission she had with her unit, but it didn't make sense. Usually Ruby would be happy and bouncing all over the place, but last night she sounded cold and determined. Also, why would she join a unit in Atlas that would cause her to be away from Yang and her team? And what was with the negativity in her voice when he asked her about Yang? There were so many questions going through Tai's mind that he wanted some answers, so he called his old colleague Glynda Goodwitch. After a few rings, she answered.
"Hello?" Glynda asked.
"Glynda? It's Tai, thanks for taking the call." Tai said gratefully.
"Oh Taiyang, this is a surprise. To what do I owe the pleasure?" Glynda asked but she had a good idea for what this was about.
"Glynda, why was I not informed that my sixteen-year-old daughter joined a temporary unit in Atlas?" Tai asked angrily.
"Parental approval was not a requirement for the unit Taiyang, also it is only for two weeks so what does it matter?" Glynda asked curiously.
"What does it matter?! What matters is that she is a sixteen-year-old girl!" Taiyang said outraged but heard Glynda chuckle.
"No, she just looks like one Tai, there isn't a sixteen-year-old girl on Remnant quite like Ruby Rose. She has the best precision in Beacon, considering she perfected our shooting range here multiple times. Not to mention her grades are improving and combat is as well, so I really don't see the issue." Glynda said simply.
"That is just school stuff though Glynda! Ruby needs more experience before she partakes in a unit! Why did you let her go?!" Tai asked angrily.
"You are right, she does need more experience and that unit is the perfect place for her to get it. I do not see why this is a bad thing rather than a good thing Tai, Ruby is maturing. She is trying to become the best huntress she can be and is using her time at the unit to learn and develop more skills. Isn't that what you want? For her to be a good huntress? Or do you just want her to be your little girl forever?" Glynda asked Tai who thought about what she said.
It was true, life was easier when Ruby and Yang were just Tai's little girls dressed in sundresses and covered in mud. When Yang became a teenager though, things got more difficult as she kept asking about her mother and started to have mood swings. Ruby thankfully stayed her cheery self when she hit her teens but now at sixteen it is like she changed entirely. Her new attitude, her taking a job in a unit that was away from Yang, Tai didn't like it one bit. Maybe that is why he was angry; he just wasn't ready for her to mature in such a way. It appeared that Ruby didn't care about he felt though…
"Ok fine, maybe I am not ready for Ruby to be maturing at a rate like this. She is growing up too fast Glynda, it was bad enough that she accepted going into Beacon two years early but a unit? Glynda it just feels like a giant leap and I would be much more comfortable if she went back to Beacon and switched with a third year." Tai said honestly.
"I get how you feel Tai, but this isn't about you this is about Ruby. This is what she wants, and the more you try to baby her and be overprotective the more she will push you away. The honest truth here Tai is that Ruby likes who she is becoming, a powerful huntress with incredible precision. You can like it or not, I doubt she really cares. She is going to want to prove herself to that unit Tai, and as her teacher I have no doubt that she can." Glynda said with pride of her young student.
"Maybe you are right, but what you said was pretty much the same thing Ruby told me last night. I told her that she needed to ask her boss to go back to Beacon, but she said that all she needed to do was get ready for her mission. She said that she would be a vital member of that unit, and she didn't care if I liked or not. Glynda, she has never talked to me that way, EVER, has something happened to Ruby recently?" Tai asked very curious.
"Ruby has been dealing with…some opposition lately, but it is not my place to tell you. If you really need more information, you will have to ask Ruby or your other daughter. I have to go but let me give you one piece of advice Taiyang, trust your daughter. Faith is more powerful than fear and it may relieve the stress you have. Take care, goodbye." Glynda said as she hung up.
Tai thought about what Glynda said, it wasn't that he didn't trust Ruby it was just the fact that she was so young and doing things that he thought were dangerous. Maybe he would be less riled up if he trusted her more, but what did Yang know about Ruby's new personality? Also, why was she still not answering his phone calls? Tai really wanted to get a better understanding of the situation, so he dialed his oldest daughter's number again.
Back in Atlas, Sindel was giving her unit the run down of how things would work in their time here and when they came back. Basically, the unit would come here every day of the week and work on the case that they were assigned. These cases varied from grimm hunting to intelligence gathering, both of which were very important to Atlas. When it came to intelligence gathering, the students would first research what they knew about the case and then were allowed to go into Atlas and Mantle to question the people who might have information they need.
In this space there were multiple desks, one for each member while Sindel had her own office and Litchi decided that she would just have a desk of her own since she thought having an office would be overkill. The desks had computers that the members would use to find information on individuals, buildings, etc. Given how General Ironwood gave them clearance to Atlas' inventory of personal information and data that they had on the people of Atlas and Mantle, it would make their job easier. It also gave them info on any huntsman because they got access to the Huntsman registry, and this did not mean only Atlas. Sindel gave them time to play around with this feature so they would be ready to go on Monday and they were all seeming to understand it very quickly. However, she saw Ruby look at the screen with bewilderment and she seemed to be glaring at the screen. Curious, she walked over…
"Ruby, is everything alright? Are you have trouble with your machine?" Sindel asked a bit worried.
"Oh, everything is fine Sindel! Just going over some files like you said to get comfortable with the process." Ruby reassured but Sindel didn't buy it.
"Well, if you say so but if you have any troubles don't be afraid to ask me or your team members." Sindel said warmly and Ruby nodded while smiling.
Once they all got enough practice with the software and running recognition through the system, Sindel decided that she wanted to go over the basics of the case with the unit before she let them go. Ruby paid close attention like all of her other members because this was their first case, and they did not want to let Sindel down. Apparently, there had been reports of multiple shakedowns happening at various stores and some civilians said that certain gangs had been meeting more frequently. Luckily, no one was hurt at the shakedowns, but only the bystanders were willing to go to the police. General Ironwood and the council wanted to know what was going on and it was up to the Intelligence Unit to find out.
"Listen up everyone, this is very important. Someone or some group, is going around Atlas and Mantle threatening the people and taking away their hard-earned income. Who these people are we do not know, but we are going to find out starting Monday. You all are allowed your free time tomorrow as we all need a break sometimes but let me remind you that during the week it is ALL about the unit and helping the people of Atlas. This unit will not be one of politics, it will be for the people. When this community hurts, when it reaches out its' hand, we pull it to its' feet, and we respond. Damn the social status, damn the income, is that understood?" Sindel asked her unit and they all nodded their heads.
It was at that moment that Ruby and the others felt proud to serve under Sindel and Litchi, both were good women who cared about people. For far too long, politics and social status have prevented people of the lower class to get a fair look when something went wrong. With Sindel it was the complete opposite, she wanted to help anyone that was in trouble so Atlas and Mantle would be safe for all. It was very admirable, and they looked forward to helping Sindel in that regard, and Sindel saw their commitment and smiled.
"Good, now I have taken up most of your Saturday already, but you still have some daylight so make good use of your weekend. Have fun or don't, I don't really care what you do as long as it is not illegal. Remember though, when you get here on Monday, we are going to hit the ground running. With that you are dismissed, but Ruby could you hang on a sec?" Sindel asked and Ruby looked at her with confusion.
"Don't worry Ruby, we will wait for you outside!" Akali reassured her as the rest of the unit left.
That left Ruby alone with Sindel and Litchi, and she could not lie she was very nervous. Did she do something wrong or something that upset them? Ruby really would be sad if she messed up on her first day in this unit, but rather than let anxiety wash over her she decided to get on with it.
"Is there something wrong Sindel? Litchi?" Ruby asked a bit nervous but relieved when the two women started laughing.
"Calm down girl, we are not going to bite your head off! We just wanted to know what the discussion was between you and Specialist Schnee was?" Litchi asked amused.
"We both know her from our military days, she was not the nicest of people neither was she one to be lenient in conversation. Also, considering that you looked incredibly angry when you got on the airship following your talk with her, I am assuming that she has not diverged from these habits." Sindel said and Ruby sighed.
"Specialist Schnee told me that I was appropriately underwhelming, I got irritated and told her the feeling was mutual. Then she started to talk bad about my skills and I told her off and got on the airship. I swear to God it's like talking to an older version of her sister, and I have had enough of that crap as it is." Ruby said annoyed and Sindel widened her eyes.
"That's right, her younger sister Weiss is your teammate correct? Well, if she hasn't changed from the times that Winter brought her in to shadow her then that must be a real pain. No wonder you looked so mad when talking with Winter, they are honestly very similar." Sindel sympathized.
"Yeah…you two seem to be more experienced in this than I am. What exactly am I getting into being Weiss' teammate and leader? I'm with her for three more years and I can't switch out or anything, so what should I expect?" Ruby asked her two superiors.
"I imagine you got a pretty good idea already. Listen Ruby, when you are in this unit, we will teach you how to be assertive and firm in the right times, and that is what you may need to do with Weiss. You are showing great maturity in the fact that you realize your team is final and no changes will be made, so you are trying to figure out how to make everyone happy so the team can go far. But there are times when you need to give people a wake-up call, and if Weiss continues being judgmental and difficult you may need to give her one. You aren't being rude; you are doing what is necessary for the team to function as best as it can. Is that understood?" Litchi asked and Ruby nodded.
"Yeah I think I get it, thanks you two that really helped." Ruby said smiling and they smiled back.
"No problem Ruby, now go back to your new friends that are waiting on you. We will see you on Monday, speaking of which when you all come back try to keep the flirting with Seth on a minimal basis during shift ok?" Sindel told Ruby who was blushing madly.
"Y-Yes ma'am!" Ruby yelped and ran out the door while Sindel and Litchi were laughing hardly.
Ruby made her way back outside to her friends while trying to get rid of the blush that covered her face. She could not believe that she was so stupid to flirt with Seth in front of her Boss and other superior. However, she was grateful for the advice that they gave her. Ruby had spent so much time trying to make everyone in her team happy, so much that she just let them walk all over her and get what they wanted, especially Weiss. That all stopped though, Ruby was the team leader and what she says goes, no matter who likes it or not. Ruby got outside to see her friends waiting.
"Yo that took a while, what did Sindel want to talk to you about?" Seth asked curiously.
"Oh, nothing much just some stupid stuff, anyway what do you guys want to do now?" Ruby asked her group.
"I am in the mood for some shopping, what do you say guys? Wanna hit the mall for a few?" Akali asked her team.
"Shopping sounds good, there is bound to be something I like at the mall." Shauna agreed.
"I have been thinking about getting some jewelry…" Ruby said with her thumb on her chin.
"Um hello? There are guys in this group, of whom none of them want to shop because that sounds boring and girls take too long when they shop." Sin said and the other three boys agreed.
"Fine you boys go do guy stuff and we will meet you later. Speaking of which, you guys are never going to believe this! My friend Lucy is having a house party tonight, she got permission from her dad! I talked to her recently and she said that I could bring my unit friends! We have to go!" Mira said excitedly and her group agreed but Ruby looked confused.
"Wait, you want me to go to?" Ruby asked shocked.
"Of course we do, why wouldn't we?" Mira asked confused.
"Well, back at Beacon my team ditches me and goes to these kinds of things without me, saying that I am too young. I assumed you all would feel the same." Ruby said honestly.
"Alright look Ruby we aren't your team; we are not just going to count you out because you are younger than us. Plus, with that figure of yours, no one's going to tell the difference!" Akali said winking at her.
"Akali is right Ruby, you being sixteen doesn't matter at all. If there is alcohol there, then just don't drink it and have fun. That's all it is." Jago assured her with a smile and Ruby was shocked.
For the past few months her team had been ditching her and excluding her from weekend activities because of her age. Yet Ruby met this group of people barely 24 hours ago and they already wanted her to go to a party with them. This lowered her view of her team and team JNPR, considering they could have done the same thing, but they really just wanted to be away from Ruby. No matter, they were not her friends and she made new ones in this unit. Ruby was glad that she chose to take a chance and join, it was really working out for her.
"Thanks guys, I needed that. I am in, this thing sounds like fun." Ruby said smiling and the others smiled back.
"Great this will be awesome! Ok ladies let's go to the mall and maybe get some new things for tonight. We will meet you guys back at the hotel and we will all go together." Mira told them and they all nodded and got on the shuttle.
Yang Xiao Long came back from the gym to an empty room, Blake must have gone to one of her reading spots and Weiss was probably at the library studying. They all needed some time away from the room, considering who wasn't in it. It still felt horrible, knowing that she and her other two teammates were the cause for Ruby joining that unit. Yang thought that punching some things and exercising would make her feel better, but the pain was still there.
She flopped on her bed in a depressed state and took out her scroll. Yang and the others had sent Ruby multiple messages, but she didn't even take the time to read one or respond. It really made Yang angry, she knew that Ruby was pissed at her but was it really so bad that she couldn't tell her own sister that she had made it safely to Atlas and that she was ok? Then again, from what Yang said on that recording wouldn't this be what she wanted? For Ruby to leave her alone so she could have more time with her other friends?
Yang still couldn't believe she said that, it was completely stupid and she was paying the price. Yeah it was annoying that she cancelled time with her friends for Ruby's sake, but Ruby never asked her to do she wanted to do it. Ruby meant more to her than her friends did but her recent actions had not shown it. The recording was only one part of the problem, there was also the fact that she and the others had been ditching Ruby time and time again. Ruby clearly felt neglected and unappreciated, so she left to find a group that did appreciate her. Yang was heartbroken by her leaving and wanted her to come back so things could go back to normal. She then heard her scroll ringing and hoped it was Ruby but unfortunately it was just her dad. Nevertheless, she answered.
"Hey Daddy…" Yang said depressed.
"Hey Little Dragon, why do you sound sad?" Tai asked worriedly.
"Just going through some stuff, what's going on?" Yang said trying to change the topic.
"I wanted to talk about Ruby, I heard that she took a position in a unit in Atlas? Not only that, her attitude last night when I was talking to her was…cold. Yang it was like Ruby was an entirely different person! Did something happen?" Tai asked concern and Yang sighed deeply.
"Daddy…I really messed up. All of us did…" Yang said while tears weld up in her eyes and she proceed to tell her father everything.
