Ruby's alarm clock went off at about 6:45 AM, letting her know that it was time to get up and get ready for her first day of work in the Intelligence Unit. She couldn't deny that she was still on cloud 9 from her date with Seth last night as well as them kissing. Ruby almost didn't want to brush her teeth last night because it would get the taste of Seth's tongue out of her mouth. Nevertheless, she greatly enjoyed the previous night, but it was time to get into work mode.

Ruby turned the TV on to the news channel so she could get caught up on some things that she had missed when she was out with Seth. Luckily, there wasn't a lot that happened and there were no crimes that were being reported. Though there was a story on how some White Fang members were reported to be spotted somewhere in Atlas but there was no real evidence to back it up. Ruby had different thoughts though, considering she knew that there were White Fang rallies in Vale so why would Atlas be any different?

After brushing her teeth and washing her face, Ruby got dressed and started doing her hair. She had grown accustomed to it and preferred it greatly over the short hair that she had for years. Ruby was a little disappointed in herself that it took her this long to try new things since she was such a routine girl. That was not going to get her anywhere in life, and since she started taking charge look how things were going. She was in a unit, had a new boyfriend, and was respected amongst her peers.

Ruby had to admit that a lot had happened in the span of this last week in a half, but she would like to think that she had handled it pretty well. For starters, she and Seth would go slow, and they would not let their relationship interfere in their work, she had to talk with him about that. Also, she would not let the nonsense that happened with her team affect her anymore. They let her know what they truly thought about her and that's what it was, she would just give them what they wanted, it was better for her anyway.

As Ruby finished brushing her hair, she took grabbed her scroll and made sure she wasn't late. Luckily for her, it was only 7:15 and it only took about 10 minutes to get to the office. Ruby then noticed that Qrow sent her multiple texts that she was just going to ignore, as she didn't feel like having another conversation about her team or quitting the unit like he wanted her to. Just then she noticed that Seth had just texted her and she smiled.

"Hey Beautiful, you sleep ok?" Seth asked.

"Yeah handsome, slept like a baby. Thanks for last night by the way, had a lot of fun." Ruby said sweetly.

"Glad to hear it, maybe we should just keep it on the downlow at the office yeah? Really don't feel like being teased or having Sindel come down on us." Seth said honestly and Ruby chuckled to herself.

"Couldn't agree more, see you downstairs." Ruby said closing her scroll.

She got her bag and made sure that she was not missing anything, as she really wanted to be prepared for the day. When she found out that she had everything she grabbed her scroll and then went out of the door, locking it once she was out. Ruby turned around though, and nothing would prepare her for what she saw. Mira, Shauna, and Akali were all standing across the hall with their arms crossed and smiles on their faces. Ruby's face turned redder than her hair, she knew what this was about.

"Good morning, Ruby! You have fun last night?" Mira asked knowingly with a smirk.

"Yeah Rose, I couldn't help but notice humming in the hallway last night as well as skipping. Any idea what that's about?" Akali asked with a grin.

"I noticed the smile that you had before you saw us, it's like you had it all night! Did Seth take you to Wonderland or something?" Shauna asked with a smile as the girls looked at Ruby expectantly.

"Well would you look at the time! Time to go to work!" Ruby said quickly as she sprinted towards the elevator, but her friends chased after her.

"You're gonna tell us!" Mira said teasingly.

"Later!" Ruby said getting in the elevator and trying to close the door.

Ruby got inside the elevator but was not fast enough to close the door on her friends who entered and were pestering her for the fun of it. She couldn't take it anymore and told them that she would talk to them when they were on their lunch break or when they got off. They all backed away with satisfied smiles on their faces causing Ruby to groan in annoyance. The elevator finally got to the lobby and Ruby couldn't wait to get off.

The girls got off the elevator and went to get coffee, they saw the boys waiting for them on the couches. They started complaining about how girls took too long to get ready but Ruby and the others just waved them off. Ruby got her latte and went with the others to get on the shuttle for the office, she sat next to Akali and was flipping through songs on her scroll. As she was doing that, she noticed Seth looking at her with a smile, and she smiled back and winked at him. Much to her annoyance Akali saw this and flashed a teasing smirk which resulted in Ruby's hand in her face.

The group got to the facility and went to the office, and they saw Sindel and Litchi waiting for them there with smiles on their faces. They looked at the clock and saw that it was 7:50 so they were early! The group was happy about that because it showed Sindel and Litchi that they were serious about being in this unit. They knew that this was not some vacation, Atlas was trusting them with certain intel and privileges that no other students could dream of having. It was a huge honor and none of them wanted to waste this chance. Just then Sindel started speaking.

"Here before 8, I like that! Shows your initiative! Anyway, everyone take out your scrolls." Sindel ordered and the unit did as they were told.

Sindel hit a button from the keypad on her computer and at once everyone's scrolls made the same beeping noise. The students looked at their scrolls and saw that their student licenses had detective written on the top right in big letters. The whole group was confused, they all were young so people would know they are students, why write detective on them? Luckily, Jago was the first to ask the question they were all thinking.

"Ma'am, what is this?" Jago asked and Sindel responded.

"Why your detective identification of course!" Sindel said happily while the students looked confused.

"Detective identification?" Ruby asked in a confused manner.

"Of course, you kids don't think that we can have you going around Atlas asking strangers questions and getting involved in certain tasks with just your student IDs, do you?" Sindel asked with an eyebrow raised and Litchi picked up where she left off.

"As mentioned in the speech to get you kids to come here, this unit is not all about killing grimm, especially with this mission. There is also intelligence gathering involved, some can be done here in the office on the network, but the other part will consist of you all going into Atlas and Mantle and talking to the citizens there. The more information solved the easier it will be to close these cases, and if there is violence within the people then you can act because you have permission. All of these privileges are possible because of your detective identification, is that clear?" Litchi asked the unit and they all nodded.

Ruby couldn't help but feel some pride in looking at her scroll, considering that she really was a part of a unit now. After being doubted for so long by her peers at Beacon, it was good to receive something official like this to show that her hard work was paying off and that she was appreciated. She would use all of the skills she had to do her job to the fullest, which was protect the people of Atlas and Mantle, and to reduce crime. Ruby broke out of her thoughts when Sindel started speaking again.

"Now then, when the time comes for us to go out into the field, we will usually not go out all at once. The reason why is because that will waste time and effort, especially since it is such a narrow way to gain information. So, unless all of us are needed, I am going to pair you all up since Litchi and I are already a pair. Starting off with you Mira, you will be partnered up with Akali since your fighting styles are similar and you are both good at conversation. Next up, Shauna and Ruby will be a duo, Ruby your precision is incredible and Shauna your stealth is unbelievable, you both will be unstoppable in catching suspects." Sindel praised and the girls just smiled at each other.

"Now for the boys, Bakugo and Sin you will be a team. You both have destructive and powerful fighting styles and will be essential if some muscle is needed for certain missions. Finally, Seth and Jago are the last duo, you boys are good at reading people and will be necessary if we have to interview suspects. Also, like Ruby and Shauna you two have moves that will be critical in key situations. Is everyone clear on their roles?" Sindel asked patiently and they all told her yes.

Ruby was glad that she had Shauna for a partner, the two were becoming good friends and they had only met a few days ago! Like Ruby, Shauna was a fan of weapons and designed her crossbow to be the most efficient and quick way to kill grimm. She attached a grappling hook to it as well so she could fly across the terrain and confuse the grim and enemies. Ruby thought it was so cool, so she was glad that she could see more of Shauna in action.

"Ok, now that the pairs are taken care of, we should move on to the mission. As I said to you all on Friday, there have been reports of criminal activity in Mantle and in Atlas. Now, most of these reports say that the Mafia clans that are presumed to be in these parts are behind it. Some reports have shown that they have been robbing stores dry of their money and other reports show that they have robbed them of supplies. Some weapons parts, and others mention dust." Sindel informed them and Ruby nearly dropped her pencil as she was writing.

'Dust? It couldn't be him could it? No way he could be here in Atlas, General Ironwood would have caught him!' Ruby yelled in her mind but turned her attention back to Sindel.

"So, for your first assignment, Ruby and Shauna I want you two to go down to Mantle and get some answers. I am sending you a list of stores that have been reported to be the ones that have been robbed. Remember though, these are people just trying to live regular lives and they may not want the Mafia or whatever crime syndicate that's behind them to come back. If they are scared to talk then ensure them that we will keep them safe, if they still won't do it then back off, we will still have an answer. Is that clear?" Sindel asked and Ruby and Shauna nodded.

"Great girls, head on to the airship field so you can get down to Mantle. Just show the pilots your ID's and they will take you there, good luck!" Sindel said and the girls nodded to each other and went to the airship field.

Once Ruby and Shauna got to the airship field, they found the closest pilot and showed him their ID's, letting him know that they were indeed with the unit. They told them that they needed to get to Mantle in order to question some store owners. The pilot was nice and told them to get on and he would have them down in Mantle in about 15 minutes. Ruby and Shauna sat down in the chairs on the airship, going through their gear to make sure everything was in top shape in case something went wrong. Ruby then decided it was time to talk strategy.

"Hey Shauna, we should formulate a plan for when we are down there. I don't want to waste any more that we have too, plus if the reports are correct than I don't think Mantle will like two detective huntresses down there for very long." Ruby said seriously and Shauna nodded.

"I couldn't agree more, have you ever been to Mantle Ruby?" Shauna asked and Ruby shook her head.

"No, this is my first time being to Atlas as a whole, never even thought about going to Mantle. Have you been there before? If so what's it like?" Ruby asked as Shauna sighed.

"Yeah, I have been there a couple of times, and my dad told me stories about it whenever he went there for business before having to fly up to Atlas. Let's just say that the economic and social status of Mantle and Atlas is greatly different. In Mantle there is poverty, crime and let's just say not the friendliest of people. Look Ruby, I know we are going down there in order to help but always keep your hand on your holster ok? Trouble could come at any moment and we should be ready, don't worry though I know we can defend ourselves." Shauna said with a serious expression and Ruby nodded.

"Yeah, thanks for the advice Shauna, let's watch each other's back!" Ruby said and Shauna nodded with a smile.

Fifteen minutes had passed, and the airship had landed in Mantle, the pilot told both Ruby and Shauna that they would be going back to Atlas in an hour. The two girls thanked the pilot and decided to get a move on, heading to the first store that was on Sindel's list. While they were walking, Ruby got a good look at the city of Mantle firsthand and she had to admit it was everything that Shauna said it would be. The atmosphere surrounding mantle was so bleak and the city looked so industrial, there was no life about it at all. Ruby couldn't imagine living here, she had only been in Mantle five minutes and she became depressed.

Ruby and Shauna entered the first store and asked the store clerk about the recent robbery, and unfortunately, they were silent. The girls kept telling him that they were with the huntsman military and they just wanted to help them out, but there was still no answer. Ruby and Shauna felt that this was a lost cause and that they would just try the next shop. They tried the next shop, and it was the same as the previous one, as were the next three that they tried. The girls could not believe that it was this frustrating to get one of these witnesses to comply, one would think that they would want the criminals who robbed them to be punished.

"This is totally ridiculous, not one shop has answered our questions! Dammit I do not want to want go back to Sindel empty handed on our first mission." Ruby said angrily and Shauna nodded her head.

"Are the people here really so scared of these robbers that they will just let them get away with it?! I can't believe we have been to five different shops and have left with absolutely no information from each one. I know we left them our contact information, but I doubt that they will ever use it. Oh well, here is the last shop, Dust for Dollars." Shauna said hoping this shop would be different than the other five.

"Shauna we may have to get a little aggressive when question these people, not to be mean though but to make them understand the severity of this situation." Ruby said seriously and Shauna nodded.

"I agree completely, come on let's head inside." Shauna said opening the door and Ruby followed.

The girls got inside and found the shop to have a welcoming aroma, so they were getting more and more confident the workers would give them the time of day. They went up to the front desk and rang the bell and a woman came out of the back room with a smile on her face. This was likely because she did not know that the two girls before her were detectives with the intelligence unit, but she would know that soon enough.

"Hello there! And what can I help you two lovely young ladies with today?" The woman said with a smile, but it dropped as soon as the girls pulled out their scrolls.

"Hello, I am Detective Vayne and this is my partner Detective Rose, we are from the Intelligence Unit within the Atlas Military. We wanted to ask you a few questions about a robbery that occurred here not too long ago?" Shauna asked simply but frowned as the woman seemed to be drawing back.

"Robbery? I do not know what you girls are talking about, so please if you are not here to purchase anything could you please leave-" The woman tried to say but Ruby cut her off.

"Ma'am I understand that you are scared, but we are here to protect you and to make sure that your store is never robbed again. If you let them get away with this then they will just come back and take more of your hard-earned money. What's worse, if you don't report any of this or cooperate then the higher ups will make us turn away from this case. Meaning, if you have enough down the road then they may not send us again, seeing as though you had your chance, and your complaint will be buried with others in a file cabinet. So please, do not just help us but help yourself." Ruby said with authority and compassion in her voice that made the woman step back and Shauna feel proud that Ruby was her partner.

"Well I-" The woman again tried to say something but was interrupted again, this time by a boy who came out of the backdoor. He looked no older than Ruby or Shauna.

"Mom, they are right! We can't just let them get away with this, we have to stand our ground!" The boy said passionately, and the woman looked torn but then sighed.

"Alright Joshua, you are right those criminals need to be held accountable. OK detectives, it was about three weeks ago when a group came in and asked for all of the dust we had and our money. They looked like mafia thugs but I could not tell what family they were from. Luckily, we did not have a lot of money in the register that day, but we did have a lot of dust and they wiped us clean. They also held us at gunpoint so we couldn't call the police or anything, but there was something that I noticed. While the goods were being gathered there were three people on the phone respectively, it was as if each person was talking to someone different." The woman told the girls, and the girls were writing her words down but then heard her son speak.

"I could see the callers faces from the reflection in the window! One was talking to some guy a cigar in his mouth and wearing a top hat. The other was a Faunus and he was talking to a red-haired man with a mask, and then the last one was talking to a heavy-set guy with dreadlocks and he was wearing sunglasses. Does that help detectives?" The boy known as Joshua asked and Ruby and Shauna looked shocked but then acknowledged the boy and nodded.

"Tell me, is this the person with the hat?" Ruby asked showing Joshua a picture of Roman Torchwick and Joshua nodded.

"Yeah, that's him! He sounded annoyed that it was taking them so long to gather the dust." Joshua said and Ruby widened her eyes as Shauna showed Joshua her scroll.

"Joshua, is this the person with the dreadlocks?" Shauna asked and Joshua nodded once more.

"Yes, that is the man, he sounded mad that we didn't have that much money in our cash register, but he didn't say what he needed it for." Joshua informed them and the girls nodded.

"This helps SO MUCH, you don't even know, you have our sincerest gratitude. We promise that we will do everything in our power to bring these criminals to justice, here is our contact information so if they come back or you see them walking around here please do not hesitate to let us know. Thanks again for your cooperation, come on Shauna let's go." Ruby said thanking the woman once again and Shauna did the same thing then they were out the door.

"You know the guy with the hat?" Shauna asked Ruby and she nodded.

"Yeah, we have some history, what about you? You know that guy with the dreadlocks?" Ruby asked Shauna who nodded her head.

"I have never met him personally, but I have heard about him, and none of the information I have heard is good. We have to get back to Atlas and let the others know about this." Shauna said and Ruby nodded, then the two of them went back to the airship field.

It took them about ten minutes to get back to the airship, and Ruby could not help but notice some people giving her and Shauna mean looks. It did not matter though, the girls were not easily intimidated, in fact the looks they gave back intimidated some of the civilians. When they got to the airship field, they found their pilot and told them that they needed to get back to Atlas immediately. The pilot complied and told them to get on, and in less than five minutes they were in the air.

The girls got back to Atlas and immediately went to the facility to let the unit know what they had found. They were extremely lucky that one of the stores was willing to cooperate with them and give them such good information. Now they at least had some suspects in to who the crime families were stealing for as they were not stealing for themselves. Ruby was especially eager because this meant she could finally figure out what Torchwick was up to. Ruby and Shauna's rush to the office was stopped when Winter Schnee approached them.

"Specialist Schnee? Is something wrong?" Ruby asked in an annoyed manner which Winter picked up on and sighed.

"No, nothing is wrong Miss Rose and Miss Vayne. Miss Rose, I wanted to apologize for my words at the mine, I should not have been so judgmental and skeptical. All of you have worked hard to get here, I will not doubt your efforts or skills anymore. Once again, I am sorry." Winter said sincerely which resulted in Ruby and Shauna's eyes widening.

"Um, ok thank you." Ruby said dumbfounded and Winter went on her way, then Ruby looked at Shauna with an incredulous expression.

"Did Winter Schnee just apologize to me?" Ruby asked curiously and Shauna just nodded.

"Cue the apocalypse…" Shauna said as she couldn't believe what just happened, but the girls shook their thoughts off and went to the office.

Ruby and Shauna walked through the doors and saw the rest of the unit hard at work. Mira and Akali were looking through the patterns of the places that were robbed, trying to see were these criminals would strike next. Jago and Seth were going through mafia files to try and see if they could determine the family that was behind all of these robberies. Sin and Bakugo were going through ballistics to see if they could trace the weapons back to the perpetrators. Finally, Sindel and Litchi were going over witness reports to see if they missed anything. They all saw Shauna and Ruby come in and gave them their full attention.

"Ruby, Shauna welcome back! Did you find out anything interesting from Mantle?" Sindel asked and the girls nodded.

"We have ma'am, the store clerk from Dust for Dollars and her son gave us some very good information. Specifically, the masterminds of this whole operation." Shauna said and everyone widened their eyes.

"Excellent, tell us everything." Sindel commanded and led them to the front so they could present.

"OK, about three weeks ago a group of men went into the store and robbed the clerk of their dust and their money. They were being held at gunpoint so they couldn't call the cops, but she noticed that three of them were talking on the phone with a different person. It was video call, and the clerks' son saw the ones on the other side of the call thanks the window reflection. Shauna and I know two of them." Ruby informed them as she got out her scroll and showed a picture.

"This is Roman Torchwick, a criminal mastermind and sort of the reason I got into Beacon. He was robbing a dust shop in Vale that I frequent, and I stopped him, so this has been going on for months. I also encountered him at the docks in Vale, where he and the White Fang tried to steal freights of dust. Not only that, but my teammate also encountered him at a White Fang rally, trying to gain more support from the situation. Whatever the dust collected is being used for I have no idea, but I do know that Torchwick is the one behind it." Ruby told her unit, and everyone looked shocked.

"Ruby, was there not a cash grab when he robbed that store in Vale?" Litchi asked and Ruby shook her head.

"No Ma'am, he was only there for the dust, he even told the clerk that he wasn't there for his money and his crimes recently haven't involved money, so he probably has enough of it." Ruby answered honestly and then Shauna cut in and showed a picture on her scroll showing the dreadlock man.

"However, this guy does need money, meet our second suspect Dexter Deshawn. He is a known Fixer, which is someone who is a well-connected smuggler and information broker. Unlike most of them, Dexter Deshawn is known to use bills instead of cryptocurrency when paying his clients and he likely doesn't want to use his own. I am guessing he needs to get some information for Torchwick, but he doesn't want to use his own earnings so when they rob the dust stores, he sends guys to get the money." Shauna said disgusted and everyone else agreed.

"Great work girls, was there anything else you learned." Sindel asked and Ruby nodded.

"Yes ma'am, apparently the third guy on the phone was a red-haired man wearing some kind of mask. The witness said that a faunus was talking to him so I think we can guess that the man is with the White Fang, though he must be some sort of higher-up within the organization." Ruby said with her thumb on her chin.

"OK, this makes our lives a bit easier, but the work is still important, we need to find out who this red-haired man is, where this Dexter Deshawn runs his operations, and what Roman Torchwick is going to do with all of that dust. Everyone find any kind of information you can on those three, understood?" Sindel ordered and the group nodded, everyone got to work on their computers trying to get some insight, this took the whole week.

Friday had come to Beacon Academy, and Blake Belladonna was taking the time to relax and enjoy one of her many novels. Or at least she was trying to, but she couldn't read the pages as there was only one thing on her mind, her leader Ruby Rose. It had been a week since Ruby left and there was no communication between them or anyone else on their team. It really made Blake mad, she knew Ruby was upset with them and all but was she really so mad that she couldn't check in with them? What if something had happened? Then again, what did Blake really expect after all the things she and the others said about Ruby?

It drove Blake crazy thinking about how foolish they all had been, ditching Ruby constantly and talking bad about her behind her back. Ruby had done so much for Blake, she agreed to not let anyone know that Blake was a former White Fang member and even devised a plan to see what they were up to just to make Blake happy. She even got Blake out of her funk when she was starving herself about her frustration with the White Fang and Torchwick. And how did Blake repay her? By leaving her behind and saying all those bad things about her just because Ruby was interrupting her reading time. Yes, her personal reading, the thing she did all day, every day.

Blake groaned at that fact; she knew that she had to get better at this socializing thing, but it wasn't going to happen overnight. Then again, Team RWBY was formed months ago and Blake hadn't changed one damn bit. She knew that Ruby's actions were justified as she wanted the team to be as close as possible, but Blake just didn't want to change her routine or open up. That's why she hated when Ruby disturbed her from her reading to hang out, she just liked being alone. Now that Blake thought about it more, she really just didn't want Ruby to keep asking her to hang out, but it was fine when Blake and the others went to clubs. Blake felt like a huge hypocrite and really wanted Ruby to return so they could apologize, and things would just go back to normal.

The question in Blake's mind though as well as everyone else's was did Ruby even want to make up with them? The girl had not called or messaged any of them since she left for Atlas, nor did she respond to any of the messages that they sent her. Not only that, Blake saw the pictures that were on Weiss' phone and it showed Ruby smiling and having a good time with those other girls. Ruby was making new friends and becoming a whole different person, someone who she clearly liked being. So really, what was the point of having things go back to normal and forgiving everyone? Blake was drowning in her thoughts but was drawn out by a familiar voice.

"Penny for your thoughts?" A warm voice belonging to Sun Wukong asked.

"Hello Sun, do you even have a penny?" Blake asked curiously causing Sun to look away sheepishly.

"No, I don't. You clearly have something on your mind though, what's going on?" Sun asked Blake who looked away.

"It's nothing, don't worry about it." Blake said a bit sadly, but Sun just sighed.

"You know, I really hoped we were over this." Sun admitted and Blake looked at him curiously.

"Over what?" Blake asked.

"You having a problem and not letting me or your friends help you. I mean Blake, I went with you to a White Fang rally, had a fight at the docks, and fought a giant robot on the freeway for you. What else do I have to do to show you that I am here to help?" Sun asked wholeheartedly and Blake widened her eyes and just sighed.

"You're right I am sorry; I know you just want to help Sun but I am not sure that you can this time. The thing is, I really messed up, all of us did." Blake said sadly and Sun looked confused.

"Wait, what do you mean Blake?" Sun asked a bit bewildered and then she told him everything.

Sun could not believe what he just heard, but it did explain some things that he noticed. For one, he noticed that Ruby was pretty much nowhere on campus, which was weird because she was usually the life of the school. Her being in Atlas made sense as to why it was kind of quiet around here, but Sun couldn't believe Blake and the others said those things about Ruby behind her back. Everyone had faults, that didn't mean that you should just openly talk about them especially in a room that is across the hall from whom you are talking about. Sun also thought that it wasn't fair of them not to invite Ruby to their outings because all of them were to young to be doing what they were doing.

"Blake, really? You said all that crap about Ruby just because you were mad about your reading time being disturbed? You do that a lot already; you know that right?" Sun said sarcastically holding up her book while Blake just glared.

"What if I like my personal space and Ruby not interfering with it?" Blake asked a bit angrily, but Sun just rolled his eyes.

"You clearly don't care about it when we go to clubs and other things that Ruby doesn't get invited to. Also, if you really want to be left alone then you should choose a career that does not involve you being on a team. You're just making excuses and you know it so drop it." Sun said seriously and Blake widened her eyes before looking down.

"You are right, Sun how do I and the others fix this? None of us want Ruby to hate us forever! Isn't there any way that we can get things back to normal?" Blake asked pleadingly to Sun who just sighed.

"I am not sure if there is, the only thing you guys can do is apologize and pray that she accepts it, though she likely won't. Look Blake, I hate to say it but if she hadn't heard what you guys said about her, then you and the others would have just continued to ignore her and treat her like she is an annoying little girl. Thanks to that, I do not believe she will forgive you guys on the spot but apologizing to her can't hurt." Sun said honestly and Blake nodded.

Blake knew that Sun was right, they were the ones at fault not Ruby, so this was all on them. He was also right in the regard that if Ruby hadn't heard what they said and none of this happened, then they would have carried on like nothing ever happened that night. Blake felt terrible upon realizing the truth but knew that it was up to her and the others to make it right. She was really thankful to Sun for giving her some advice and closure.

"Sun, thank you I really needed that." Blake said as she hugged him, and Sun hugged back but was a little surprised.

Back in Atlas, the Intelligence Unit had been working all week to narrow their ideas of what Torchwick was planning and how Dexter Deshawn fit into this. Not only that, but they were also figuring out who that red-haired man was that Joshua talked about. Sindel really was not kidding when she told them that this would not be a vacation. The group rarely had any free time after work, considering they just got dinner and had about an hour to relax before going to bed and doing it all over again in the morning. Ruby and Seth wanted to go on another date, but they were so tired that they were fine with just hanging out in Seth's room. It felt good though when Seth told her how happy he was to have a badass girlfriend though who takes down criminals. Ruby's new friend she met at the party, Cana, told her and the others about a sick new club that was opening tonight and all of them agreed they were going since they needed some fun.

"OK, I think that we have narrowed things down and can fully focus on what might happen next. Thanks again for going to help with the grimm in the fields Sin and Bakugo, the huntsman really appreciated it and now we have one less thing to worry about. Listen, let's go to lunch and come back here to fully review and figure out our next plan of action. Sound good?" Sindel asked her team and everyone nodded but then noticed General Ironwood come in with a familiar man next to him. Well, familiar to Ruby at least.

"General Ironwood, what do we owe the pleasure?" Sindel asked politely and the General smiled.

"I wanted to see how the intelligence unit was doing, and I can see pretty well considering all of the data that you have on the boards in the room. I also came because this man has business with one of your detectives." General Ironwood said and pointed to the man next to him who seemed to be looking at Ruby.

"Hey kiddo, wanna grab a bite and catch up?" Qrow asked Ruby who looked a little unsure but then nodded.

"Hey Qrow, that sounds fine, but I have to be back in an hour ok? I will see you guys after lunch!" Ruby said as she put on her jacket and bid farewell to her unit, though she saw Seth give her a curious glance to which she just nodded telling him it was ok, something Qrow caught.

Qrow and Ruby went to a popular diner that he had frequented whenever Qrow came to Atlas. They sat down at a table and ordered their food and their drinks, leaving them to chat or to silence as it came to them. Qrow could not get over the girl sitting before him, it was like his daughter was a completely different person. The long hair, the outfit, the figure, and the new attitude made him not know the Ruby Rose before him, she looked like a stranger. Not to mention that she was on her scroll and did not look like she wanted to talk to him. Well tough luck because Qrow was going to get some answers during this hour whether she liked it or not.

"That's some make over you got kiddo, going for the Rockstar look?" Qrow joked as he tried to lighten the mood but Ruby just rolled her eyes.

"Guess so." Ruby said unamused while texting on her scroll and Qrow just sighed.

"Tai said that something went down and now you and Yang as well as your team are divided, and that you haven't responded to any of their messages. Not only that, but you also took this job without consulting them or us first, not caring about our feelings toward it. Then we have Sunday, when I was trying to talk to you and you hung up on me, which was quite rude if I do say so myself. All that being said, you know we have to a serious talk right now, right kiddo?" Qrow said as he narrowed his eyes at his daughter who narrowed her eyes back and then scoffed.

"Yep, we sure have a lot to talk about don't we…" Ruby said as she put her scroll on the table and hit a button causing an image to appear and Qrow's eyes to widened to the size of saucers.

"Daddy?" Ruby said in disgust as her scroll showed Qrow Branwen's huntsman file and the fact that he had child, who was born on October 31st, which was Ruby's birthday. Here Qrow was about to scold Ruby, and now he felt he was in for the scolding of his life. How was he going to have this unexpected conversation?
