General James Ironwood was currently in Professor Ozpin's office in Beacon tower, along with said professor and Glynda Goodwitch. The vibe in the room was a bit complicated, both Ozpin and Glynda looked angry while General Ironwood couldn't seem to let go of the smile that was on his face. He knew the reason why Ozpin and Glynda were angry, but if he was being completely honest he didn't really care. Thanks to his detectives that group from Haven was going to the Maximum-Security Prison in Atlas, and Roman Torchwick and the White Fang would follow.

Part of him wanted to feel a little guilty, considering that he had been keeping the knowledge about that group a secret from Ozpin and Glynda. Not only that, but he didn't let them know that Ruby Rose was a part of a top-secret and important investigation, a big step up from what he and Sindel promised them that unit would be. Still, the arrest that they had made tonight was a victory that was more important than James keeping a secret, hopefully Ozpin and Glynda would understand that.

General Ironwood also believed this was good because he had a feeling that the group from Haven were involved with the grimm witch known as Salem. She was the whole reason that Ironwood had decided to take Ozpin up on his offer in joining his secret society along with Glynda, Qrow and a few others. At first he thought the group from Haven were just common criminals, but with the information his Intelligence Unit collected it was clear they were more than that. Then there was the report about that Mercury boy seemingly studying Pyrrha Nikos, who Ironwood knew was Ozpin's next choice for the Fall Maiden…

Meanwhile Ozpin and Glynda were glaring at the general, not happy at all with how the night turned out. What was supposed to be a nice night for them, and the students was turned into a disaster by the general and his soldiers. James had information about supposed transfers from Haven who were apparently criminals, and he didn't tell them? They were the Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress of Beacon for a reason, and they had a right to know he was running some sort of operation.

Glynda was especially angry because James was subjecting her student to danger, even if she was talented. The deputy headmistress only gave her permission to Ruby joining that unit because she felt it was necessary for the girl to get some away time from her team after what happened. Not only that, but James and that Sindel woman told them that Ruby would only be hunting grimm, gathering intelligence, and dealing with some low-level criminals.

In reality it was actually the opposite, she did hunt some grimm sure, Ruby told her that once she came back. However, the intelligence that Ruby and those other students were gathering were apparently vytal and the criminals they were dealing with were not low level at all. The White Fang and Roman Torchwick were among the most dangerous criminals on Remnant, and if that group from Haven was working with them that means they are just as dangerous. What exactly did James get Ruby into?

Ozpin was just as upset for the same reasons but also for one different one. He was angry at James for sure, but also at himself for allowing those three criminals to walk into Beacon and commit those acts of violence. He paled to think that they were minions of Salem, and the more he thought about it he figured that might be the case. What else could they want that was so important that they would join with the White Fang and Roman Torchwick? Ozpin didn't know but he was sure James did, speaking of which the General's voice took Ozpin out of his thoughts.

"So, are we going to discuss something or did you bring me here just to glare at me?" General Ironwood asked amused and the glares he got worsened.

"Don't get that attitude with us James, what in the hell just happened?! Who are those people and why didn't you let us know criminals were at Beacon?!" Glynda asked enraged.

"What happened was that my two detectives stopped an act of villainy tonight, something that no one in this room knew was going on. Had it not been for them something terrible would have happened, try to focus on the outcome instead of what preceded it. As for why I didn't tell you all that was the Intelligence Unit's idea, since we no idea how that group communicated they could have had other accomplices or wires near your office. We needed to keep that group in the dark as long as possible so they could make a mistake and here we are." Ironwood explained and his colleagues had wide eyes.

"Hold on, do you mean that Ruby signed off on this?!" Glynda asked as she felt a bit betrayed that her student didn't trust her or Professor Ozpin.

"Indeed, she agreed with her fellow squad that doing this would be the best course of action. To truly find out what that group was planning, it was important to make them think that they hadn't been figured out in the slightest. It worked as you can see, they didn't think that they had any eyes on them and that their plan at the tower would go off without a hitch. Big mistake, and now they are being checked in to the Atlas prison as we speak." James said proudly and Ozpin sighed.

"James, we need a full explanation from the beginning, how did this even come about? You told us that Ruby was just going to be going after some low-level criminals, clearly that was false after what happened tonight. Just what is your plan when it comes to that unit full of students?" Ozpin asked curiously.

"I didn't lie to you Ozpin, that was the original plan, but things changed." James said honestly and both Ozpin and Glynda's eyes widened.

"Explain." Ozpin commanded and Ironwood sighed.

"As you wish, as you were told before the program started Special Agent Sindel Diamond selected eight students to be a part of her new unit. This unit would only address pressing problems and would be sent back to school after they were solved, and then called again when they were needed. The group succeeded in their first successful mission the day after they arrived, which was to clear out the grimm who had taken shelter in the mines in Atlas. It was incredible because they had only met each other the previous day, and yet they worked together like they had known each other their whole lives.

They bonded over the weekend, and that next Monday they got to work on finding out the source of various crimes going on in Mantle, particularly robberies. These robberies were not of banks, but of shops that sold dust in particular. Sindel sent Detective Rose and Detective Vayne to Mantle in order to investigate and find the criminals responsible. I fully expected them to come back and say that a group of thugs were robbing the shops, but what they found out was so much worse than that…" Ironwood said honesty and his two colleagues widened their eyes.

"What do you mean James? What happened?" Glynda asked in a worried tone as Ironwood placed his scroll on Ozpin's desk and a picture came up.

"Detective Vayne and Detective Rose finally got one of the shop owners to talk, they said that three men came into the store and wanted all their dust and money. They noticed how the criminals were each talking to someone different on their scrolls as the robbery was taking place. One of them was this man, Dexter Deshawn, apparently one of the most renown fixers on Remnant. Fixers are information brokers and smugglers who apply their trade on the black market. This guy was using the robberies as a way to get a bonus for his services." Ironwood said in disgust.

"James you mentioned two other people on the scrolls, who were they?" Ozpin asked.

"Two criminals that both of you are familiar with, Roman Torchwick and the White Fang. While we don't know the identity of the White Fang member who was on the scroll, the pedestrian got a clear view of Roman Torchwick. It seems that his villainy is not just affecting Vale, and once we found out that Torchwick and the White Fang were involved we started to understand. Deshawn let Torchwick know of the many dust shops in Mantle and Atlas, they need that dust for something, but we don't know for what. While they robbed the dust, Deshawn's men would also get the cash for their services, it is a win-win for him." Ironwood informed Glynda and Ozpin who looked shocked.

"That actually makes sense! When I first met Ruby and fought that mysterious woman it all started because Roman Torchwick was trying to rob a dust shop!" Glynda exclaimed in realization.

"This is all incredible information James, but it doesn't answer the question of what happened this evening. How exactly is that group from Haven involved in all of this and how did you know they were criminals?" Ozpin asked getting a bit impatient, something James picked up on.

"The Intelligence Unit worked that whole week trying to find some new information on who the unknown White Fang member could be and what their plan was, but they couldn't find anything. A couple days later after the week ended for them, my soldiers found the body of one Dexter Deshawn who had sustained deep wounds. We noticed static transmission coming from Deshawn's head, and Detective Vayne surmised that the man actually had cybernetic implants in his head and suggested that there could be video files in his brain. She was right and video was extracted, this is how we knew about the group from Haven." Ironwood said seriously as he pressed a button on his scroll and a video played.

Ozpin and Glynda looked at the video intently and they couldn't believe what they were seeing. They still were dumbfounded that a man actually had technology implanted in his neurosystem and recorded possibly every conversation he had. It began showing Dexter Deshawn seemingly having an argument with Roman Torchwick. It seemed that the man wanted out of whatever Torchwick and the White Fang were planning, clearly it must be something terrible if a high level criminal wanted to bail.

The Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress also noticed Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black in the background, showing that they were criminals and apart of this evil plan. Deshawn and Torchwick were still arguing and then came Cinder Fall, who talked like she owned the place and asked Deshawn who told him he could leave? Deshawn put his foot down though and told them that he and his men were done with this plan and that he wouldn't talk to the police. As he turned to leave, a red haired faunus said he couldn't and then attacked him before the video cut off.

Glynda and Ozpin were both horrified at what they just saw, just what had been going on in Vale that they didn't know about? Before tonight, they thought that Roman Torchwick's shenanigans and the White Fangs attacks were all they had to worry about and would eventually blow over, but they were dead wrong. To make matters worse it appeared that they had been harboring criminals at their school and didn't even know, they both felt ashamed.

'How could we have let this go so far? What else is going on in Vale that we do not know about?' Glynda thought in worry.

'Perhaps I have been too passive when it comes to looking into the underground crimes happening lately. One thing that bothers me the most is the fact that this Cinder woman was talking like she owned the place." Ozpin thought and his thoughts were broken out by General Ironwood.

"You saw it too, didn't you Ozpin? The way that Roman Torchwick flinched and looked afraid of Cinder Fall? And the fact that it seemed like only she knows of what phase 2 of this certain plan entails. There is no doubt in my mind that she is the mastermind of this whole operation, and the reason why I didn't tell you all is because she and the other two were staying here and I didn't know how they communicated. It isn't because I nor the Intelligence Unit trust you, it was because we had to play it close to the chest." Ironwood said honestly and his colleagues sighed.

"This is all my fault, I felt something was off about that group and I never saw that Cinder girl in any of my classes. Now that I think about it, she does look a bit old to be a student here at Beacon or any academy for that matter. If only I had paid more attention…" Glynda said ashamed but Ironwood waived her off.

"Don't start blaming yourself Glynda, you have a lot on your plate just like Ozpin and had we not seen that video we never would have known. However, there is more that I need to share with you that is of the utmost importance." Ironwood said seriously.

"What else do you have to inform us of James? What could be more important than what you just showed us?" Ozpin asked as he was afraid of the answer.

"After looking at the video and all information that the Intelligence Unit collected, I think it is safe to surmise that Cinder Fall is indeed the woman who Glynda fought the night she met Detective Rose. With that being known, I believe it was even more imperative to do things in secret. The reason why is because I believe that the arrest of that group from Haven tonight will not just protect the people of Vale and Remnant, but it will help our mission too." Ironwood said seriously and his colleagues widened their eyes.

"You don't mean…" Glynda started but Ozpin finished.

"You believe that this group is associated with Salem." Ozpin surmised

"I do." Ironwood said while nodding.

"What is your proof James? For all we know these three could just be common criminals, you said that this Dexter Deshawn fellow was information broker, he could have just been recommended to them. This Cinder woman could have had information from previous engagements and then gone to Torchwick and the White Fang with an offer. That doesn't necessarily mean they are allied with Salem." Ozpin said but Ironwood disagreed.

"Oh, but it does Ozpin. After finding out there were fugitives at Beacon Academy I ordered emergency background checks on all three of them. Imagine my surprise when we found absolutely nothing, no school record, no medical history, no family, nothing. And our network spans all of Remnant, it's incredibly odd that we found nothing on them considering we know their names. They are likely just people that Salem picked up off the street.

Another thing to consider is the fact that they took refuge here at Beacon Academy while the others are currently in other hideouts. Why do that when they could have been in the shadows like their accomplices. Also, Detective Rose informed Sindel and Litchi that she saw a training match between Pyrrha Nikos and Mercury Black. She said that she believed that Mercury was going easy on her, studying her even. Any reason why he would do that Ozpin?" Ironwood asked and Ozpin's eyes widened in realization.

"She's my choice…to replace Amber." Ozpin admitted and Glynda's eyes widened.

"That's what I thought, and clearly that's what they figured out as well. Do you see now why I see tonight as a win Ozpin?" Ironwood asked and Ozpin reluctantly nodded.

Ozpin was still angry at James for keeping secrets from him and for turning the dance into a drug bust, but he couldn't deny that what happened tonight was a huge victory. If he was being honest the person he was really angry at was himself for not seeing what was right in front of him and letting that group from Haven act as Beacon students. Minions of Salem were taking refuge in his own academy, and if tonight never happened it would still be that way.

With the fact that Cinder was trying to upload a virus into the tower's main database, it was clear that Beacon and Vale were going to be the target of certain destruction. The White Fang clearly wanted to make their message known, Roman Torchwick was in it for the power and villainy, and that group from Haven would use that destruction for getting the maiden powers and the relic. Admittedly, Ozpin figured he should have selected a replacement for Amber other than a renowned tournament champion, that way it would not be as obvious…

"James we appreciate what you and that unit did, but these are still just children! You can't expose them to criminals like this! You should have come to us, and we could have put together a plan, there was no need to get those students involved!" Glynda said angrily but Ironwood disagreed.

"We have been over this Glynda, there was no way of knowing how that group communicated and we didn't want to risk anything. Also, you and I both know that those students are not children, they just look like it. The Intelligence Unit has shown they are committed to keeping the world safe and are not afraid of any challenges. That's similar to our little group isn't it? I don't see the problem considering that we do the same thing, just on a larger scale." Ironwood said honestly as Ozpin glared at him.

"The difference is that we are the protectors of this world James, they are just students. And now you have brought them into this war with Salem, don't you see what a dangerous thing you have done?!" Ozpin asked angrily but Ironwood waived him off.

"They don't know who Salem is and they probably never will thanks to Detective Rose and Detective Dreyar. All they know is that the group from Haven are criminals, which they are, and they are currently in the Atlas prison. I am not sure why you two are so angry, you hate when I use my military power and I finally did things your way in secret, and it worked. You two should be happy, this is a blow to our enemies. Now if there is nothing else, I will be turning in for the night. Don't let this drive you crazy, tonight was a win." Ironwood said with a smile as he left, leaving Ozpin and Glynda to their thoughts.

As much as they were still angry with James for leaving them in the dark, they could not deny that his last statement was true. They didn't even want to imagine what could have happened if Ruby and that other detective hadn't caught that group from Haven. They would have keep being criminals living right at Beacon and Ozpin and Glynda never would have known. Still, they feared that James would keep things from them again and they didn't want that.

"So, what do you think we should do?" Glynda asked Ozpin who rubbed his temples.

"Tomorrow morning let's have Ruby come up here before the missions begin and have her confirm that James was not leaving out any details. It will make me feel better to hear it from her mouth that we are not being kept in the dark anymore." Ozpin stated but Glynda wasn't so sure.

"Are we sure she is going to tell us the truth? She isn't the adorable cookie loving girl that was in that interrogation room anymore Professor Ozpin. You saw how she was tonight, she looked at that group from Haven with cold calculating eyes and her hand was on her holster the whole time…" Glynda said as she was a bit disturbed.

"It is true that Miss Rose has a changed a bit from the one we met that night, but her morals stay the same I know that for a fact. She will always do the right thing, after all the whole reason she tries so hard is because she wants to be a huntress. She knows her duty, and she will always perform it, we saw that when she accepted James' offer and we saw it tonight. I am sure that she will confirm everything that James said." Ozpin said with belief and Glynda wanted to believe it too, but only time will tell…

ATLAS MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON

At the beginning of this evening Cinder Fall was wearing a lovely black dress but now she was wearing an orange jumpsuit, reminding her of her failure. As she was sitting in the interrogation room, Cinder could not get over the feeling of failure and shame that was running through her whole body. It was going so well; her plan was being executed perfectly and tonight was going to push that plan into phase two. But of course, that damn little Red and her boyfriend had to go and ruin it…

It pained her to admit it, but Cinder noticed that Ruby Rose was not the same little red that she once knew before. Ruby's attacks were much more refined than they were before, and her precision had become incredible. It honestly scared Cinder how easily Ruby destroyed her dust attacks and how quickly she could go on the offensive. And that boy she was with, he didn't look like he was afraid of Cinder at all, in fact he looked very confident in his skills.

Just who else was in the unit that Ruby was in and what were their skills? The question that was going through Cinder's mind was how much did this unit and Ironwood know about her and the others? Back at the dance Ruby listed off the crimes that they were arrested for and that let Cinder know that Ironwood and the Intelligence Unit knew everything that they were up to. But how could they possibly know that? Was there a rat in the White Fang or Torchwick's group? That couldn't be, Roman and Adam Taurus were very good about keeping their men under control.

Cinder sighed in frustration at her current predicament, she wasn't going to tell these Atlesians anything, but she knew she would be in this prison for a while. There was no way that she could escape with the aura draining cuffs on her, she couldn't use her semblance with them on. And she knew that no one was coming to get her or the other two. They had no way of contacting the others, none of them knew that she and the other two were arrested.

For all they knew Cinder's plan was successful and she would contact them in the coming days to go over the demolition plan. Even in Roman and Adam figured out that Cinder and the other two were captured, she doubted that they would come rescue them. The White Fang when never try to commit an assault on a maximum-security prison in Atlas and Roman would probably just grab the money and disappear if he knew that Cinder had been caught. Cinder knew they had no options of escape and was brought out of her thoughts when two women entered the room.

One woman was dressed in black and had long white hair, it seemed like there was a mechshift weapon across her lower back. The second woman had a Chinese dress on and had black hair that was wrapped in a ponytail and was wearing glasses. Cinder also saw that the women were wearing different badges than the other soldiers in this complex, showing that they were higher up the chain. What irritated Cinder more, is that none of them looked to be intimidated of her.

"Good evening, my name is Special Agent Sindel Diamond, I run the intelligence Unit." Sindel informed Cinder who widened her eyes.

'So, this is the woman who runs the unit that Ruby is a part of…' Cinder thought with a glare and Litchi looked amused.

"And my name is Special Agent Litchi Faye Ling, I serve as Sindel's right hand woman but enough about us. You are Cinder Fall correct? Quite the interesting name, even more interesting that we couldn't find data on you, that Emerald girl, or that Mercury boy in our database. However, when gathering DNA from you all we found that Mercury Black is indeed the son of Marcus Black, the infamous assassin. How exactly did you two cross paths?" Litchi asked but Cinder was silent.

"Don't feel like answering that huh? That's ok, I respect not wanting to waste time in pointless chatter. How about we get onto more pressing matters then? Why don't you tell us about how you came into contact with Roman Torchwick and the White Fang? We would also like to know about this plan of yours and what exactly phase two is. While you're at it, I'm very interested on why some random woman was trying to implant a virus into the CCT's main database. Won't you answer these questions? I mean, it's not like you have anything else to do." Sindel said with a smirk and Cinder growled but regained her composure.

"I have no idea what you are talking about, I am afraid you two are mistaken." Cinder said simply but Sindel just chuckled.

"It's cute that you trying to act all innocent even though two of my detectives didn't catch you red-handed in the tower. They also have evidence that the main computer you were using said 'Virus Upload Failed' after they disconnected your scroll. So Cinder, no more games as you are wasting our valuable time." Sindel said annoyed and Cinder just scoffed.

"Maybe I just wanted some information on the Vytal Festival." Cinder snarked with a smirk but noticed the Litchi woman was writing something down.

"So, the Vytal Festival is a part of your plan, continue." Litchi said and Cinder growled with how she kind of just screwed herself but tried to remain calm.

"I don't know anything about a plan or whatever you two are talking about, neither do Emerald or Mercury. I don't know why we are even here, but I am telling you we didn't do anything so just let us go!" Cinder demanded but Sindel and Litchi just looked amused.

"Cinder dear, are you familiar with the phrase, "Dead Men Tell No Tales?" Sindel asked curiously and Cinder raised her eyebrow.

"What does that have to do with anything?!" Cinder asked in annoyance, but Sindel just chuckled.

"Just pointing out how true it is to the majority of the human race, but not to your friend Dexter Deshawn it seems. Here, take a look." Sindel said as she took out her scroll and played a video causing Cinder's eyes to widen to the size of saucers.

The video that was being played was an argument that she remembered all too well. It was the night that Dexter Deshawn came to their hideout and told them that he wanted out of the mission, something that Cinder didn't like as he challenged her authority. It seemed that the video was being played through his eyes and now everything made sense. That son of a bitch, he was recording them all this whole time! Just how many conversations had he recorded and how did he record them in the first place?

It made Cinder especially angry because it proved that her plan was going exactly as she wanted it to, the only reason these people found out were because of that damn Deshawn! Now they were screwed because Ironwood now knew who Adam Taurus was or at least what he looked like, and it was only a matter of time before they realized the White Fang and Torchwick were somewhere in Vale. The question going through Cinder's mind was how did the Atlas Military get this recording when Deshawn was dead?

"Are you wondering how we got this information?" Litchi asked with a smirk practically reading her mind and Cinder growled.

'Cocky bitch.' Cinder growled in anger.

"It seems that your accomplice Dexter Deshawn had technology implanted into his neurosystem, quite common for fixers like him. He can record any conversation he had with anybody, and they would never know, and it seems like the technology remains intact even if there is no brain activity. I must admit when we found Dexter Deshawn's body that day I never could have imagined that it would speed up the investigation instead of shatter it to pieces. When we catch that bull-faunus boy we will have to thank him." Litchi said gratefully with a smile and Cinder was fuming.

'Dammit, I told Adam that we should have just let him go! Clearly Deshawn was not going to go to the cops, and we had enough dust so why kill him? Maybe send two of his men to spy on Deshawn sure but killing him clearly wasn't the right move. Still, it seems like they don't know Adam's name, but they know what he looks like and can clearly identify him. This isn't good, I really hope the White Fang doesn't do anything reckless.' Cinder thought in worry but was broken out of her thoughts by Sindel's voice.

"So, here is what we know Cinder. Somehow you and those other two came into contact with Dexter Deshawn, Roman Torchwick, and the White Fang and commenced this plan of yours. We know from witness reports that Torchwick and Deshawn sent their goons along with some White Fang members to various dust shops in Vale and Atlas, robbing them. From this video it seems like they know what the dust is for but after that they don't know the rest of the plan, but you do. And from your statement earlier, it seems like phase two of that plan has something to do with the Vytal festival. So, what else are we missing?" Sindel asked with an eyebrow raised and Cinder was silent.

Cinder could not believe how bad things had gotten for her and the others, she may not have cared about them at all, but she would rather all of them not be in this prison. And considering what these two women and Ironwood knew, it was going to be a reality very soon. What exactly was she going to do? There was no way to contact Watts and even if there was she couldn't because then Ironwood would know that he is alive. Not to mention that she couldn't place the blame on someone else because of that video…

"That feeling, that pounding in your chest? That's called panic, and you're panicking because we know roughly 80-85% of what's been happening. This plan of yours has fallen like a house of cards and it's only a matter of time until your accomplices are your cellmates. We are going to find them Cinder, but if you tell us where they are right now then maybe we can talk to Ironwood about shortening your sentence a little. What do you say?" Sindel asked curiously and Cinder glared at her.

"I already told you, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!" Cinder hissed at the white-haired woman, seeing through her game but Sindel just smiled.

"You can do that; you can keep playing dumb while hoping this just goes away but it won't. In fact, that video is all the evidence we need to say that you are the main conspirator and deserve the maximum sentence over everyone." Sindel said as she and Litchi got up, but Cinder's eyes widened.

"What do you mean?! I said I don't know what you're talking about!" Cinder yelled but Litchi got right in her face.

"The hell you don't!" Litchi growled as she and Sindel left the room and Cinder slammed her hands on the table in frustration.

ROOM ACROSS THE HALL

Mercury Black and Emerald Sustrai were in a similar situation that their boss Cinder was in. They were in an interrogation room wearing orange jump suits and had aura cuffs on their wrists. In front of them though was a girl with white hair that could not be but a year older than they were. Judging by her face one would think that she was a happy schoolgirl that just cared about making friends with everyone. But seeing as though she was clearly the interrogator, she must be strong or intimidating.

Both Emerald and Mercury were pissed about how the night went, seeing as though the plan had been going swimmingly these past few months. Now Ironwood, Ruby Rose and apparently the whole damn Atlas Military knew everything they were doing and they themselves were bound in chains. Mercury was worried for himself, if these people found out who is dad was what did that mean for him? Would he receive a harsher punishment? Emerald was more worried about Cinder considering she knew the woman was pissed and she had a temper. Just then the girl in front of them started speaking.

"Hello there, I am Detective Mirajane Strauss of the Intelligence Unit. You are Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black correct? It's a pleasure, I am afraid I don't know too much about you two though, care to enlighten me?" Mirajane asked with a smile but the two just glared at her.

"So, you are apart of the unit that damn Little Red is a member of." Emerald said with disgust, but Mira just looked confused.

"Little Red? Oh, do you mean Ruby? I guess she is kind of short, but she is pretty much my height, and yes she is a member of the unit, and she is also my friend. Though I guess you two don't like her very much since apparently she has ruined more of your plans than just tonight. Enough about her though, I am here to discuss you two after all. We found nothing on you two in our database when we ran your names, but after the DNA tests we found out that Mercury here has a father who was an infamous assassin. Not only that, but we found reports in a certain city that a green haired thief would rob jewelry stores and then would somehow disappear. How exactly did you two cross paths with each other and Cinder Fall?" Mira asked them but they just glared at her again.

"Why the hell would we tell you anything?!" Emerald asked in anger, but Mira just smirked.

"Because you don't have any other choice or chance to make things better for you. We know who your accomplices are and none of them are coming to get you. Your located in a maximum-security prison in a kingdom that has more technology than any other. The White Fang wouldn't dare come back here again after that mine incident and Torchwick would like to stay out of jail so he's not coming to rescue you either. I am afraid this will be your home for quite a while, but if you tell me things that I should know you may not be here for very long. I mean we pretty much know Cinder is the mastermind of all of this, so I would like to know how she became a mastermind. Please, indulge me, it's not like you have any other options." Mira said confidently and the other two knew she was right.

Everything that Mira said was true and Emerald and Mercury hated that fact. None of their accomplices were coming to get them, the White Fang just cared about destruction, and they could do that with the dust they collected. Torchwick was so scared of Cinder that with her gone he may just take his money and leave and never look back. Emerald didn't want to betray Cinder even with how things were going, but Mercury was looking out for himself. The gray-haired boy sighed and began speaking, getting Mira's attention.

"Cinder came one day looking for my father, but she found me instead. It was the day that I killed my father, I had enough of the beatings and abuse. That fight cost me the full function of my legs, but it was worth it. Cinder offered me new legs and power, so I agreed to go with her seeing as though she had what I wanted and it's not like I had anywhere else to go. I owe her for that and that is why I have been following her." Mercury admitted while Emerald looked shocked, and Mira was writing it down on her notepad.

'This poor kid, he has been through hell and back, but that does not excuse his actions. Something else is bugging me…' Mira thought before she spoke again.

"For the new legs you mean the prosthetic ones you currently have correct? How exactly did Cinder get you those anyway?" Mira asked but Mercury glared at her.

"I don't know, I didn't ask and I didn't care." Mercury said angrily while Mira nodded her head.

"I can understand that after all you went through, ok miss thief what about you? How do you tie into all of this?" Mira asked and Emerald glared at her for calling her a thief.

"Cinder found me one day in the middle of a job, she told me that I could be of use to her and following her would make me never go hungry again. Considering my life at the time I had no choice but to accept her offer and I am glad I did. I am forever in Cinder's debt for saving me from that hell." Emerald said compassionately that honestly weirded Mira out and caused Mercury to roll his eyes.

'When are you going to realize that Cinder does not care about you?' Mercury thought in annoyance.

"I see, while both of those are sad stories I don't believe that gives you two the means to partake in such heinous crimes. Just because the world wasn't fair to you does not mean you should want to burn it to the ground. Anyway, what exactly is Cinder's plan? Why did she gather all of you along with the White Fang and Torchwick?" Mira asked curiously.

"We don't question our orders we follow them, similar to what you all do." Emerald hissed and Mira just raised an eyebrow.

"I don't recall my orders in this unit to involve murdering people, robbing stores and other acts of villainy. So, you are just fine with not knowing the plan that Cinder has and are fine with her leading you on some wild goose chase?" Mira asked incredulously and Emerald glared at her.

"She cares about us, something the rest of the world didn't bother to do! I don't care what she asks me to do, she saved me from a life of poverty, and I haven't gone hungry since. Unlike you Atlas elites, she actually cares for the people beneath her and makes their lives better. People like you could never understand seeing as though you clearly had food every day of your life and a warm bed to sleep in. Even if I did know what Cinder's plan was, I would never tell you as I would never betray her!" Emerald said honestly and Mira rubbed her temples in frustration.

"My God you are so delusional, any person with common sense can see that Cinder Fall doesn't give a damn about you just your abilities. Also, you can be angry with the difference in our statuses, but the truth is the world isn't fair for anyone, it's good you learn that now. While I don't see myself as an Atlas elite, I admit you do have a point. We are the Atlas Military and you two are criminals who are being uncooperative. So, guess what happens next?" Mira asked with a devilish smirk on her face while the other two growled and glared at her.

They hated to admit it but since they had no idea of what Cinder's plan was that meant that they were no use to the Atlas Military. That meant that they would be in their cells for a very long time unless a miracle happened, and Salem sent Watts or Tyrian to help them escape. But for that to happen she would need to know they were arrested in the first place! They doubted Ironwood would make this public, what were they going to do now?

AUTHOR NOTES:

Hey everyone, here is another chapter for you, sorry this is kind of a filler and doesn't involve Ruby at all. It's more of a chapter discussing the immediate aftermath of the arrest of the group from Haven. We see James stand his ground against Ozpin and Glynda, while Sindel, Litchi and Mira tell the group from Haven how screwed they are. I am not sure what my release schedule for my stories will be from now on because I have been enjoying other things in life, but I do want to finish this and Jaune Goodwitch. Also, if you have a switch I highly recommend you play Metroid Dread, it feels so good to have Samus back and the gameplay is amazing! Anyway, until next time, take care!
